2NJ I was born and raised in the south so I've all ways been in a tornado prone area.  We have had two in my area already this spring but not in the exact area where I live.  They were like 15 or so miles from me but in the same county!

Art  I know sinus incfections SUCK. I had mine operated on even .
 This is  the first one I had since then.  :(  Also I had the dr check my thyroid.. cause last time I had bronchitis.. my voice got messed up.
 SO now I have it again? So kind of scared. He said my thyroid was fine. he was pushing on my neck and makin me swallow and tuen my damn head in different directions. who knows.. maybe my voice will be normal after this ?  lol  He wont give me blood work.. said no abnormalities with my thyroid or he would do blood and send me for ultra sound. So that rules out my shitty voice.  One thing I can check off.  :wink:

However, Carpe is also showing stills of a bag in the basin that he is pulling from the videos - right?

So, do we know exactly when the photo shown in the Enquirer was made?

I don't know when, but you're right. There was discussion here about the pic being exactly the one in the enquirer although the one here had been pulled from the video.

Basically it's the source of the news that was published yesterday on a blog. That the 10 investigators asked to work with the narcotics team, because they consider that how the NH investigative team provided information to the American media and third persons, made their work even more difficult.

The team comes to Aruba to make their final investigation on this case, before the Prosecutor office close the case and call it a cold case, till new evidences appears.

And that they may be working from the Noord Station instead of the Oranjestad one.

This is my opinion; they are not happy how some members of the original investigative team have acted, by giving information out/leaked to the media. Maybe even to some blogs and the family. The original inestigating team started with young police officers from different departments of the ALE 'cause as we know, in the beginning everybody was involved untill the case became more serious with family's accusations, media harrassments and lies and cover-ups and creating false evidences, distraction and the no cooperation of many in this case. And many that were involved one way or the other, wanted to be a good citizen and talked to anyone in the media and the media and other considered them official spokespersons in the case while maybe they were not even part of the team or have the complete information.

This even reminded me on how DIARIO got to some of the documents and other "information". Uhmmmmm.....

By working with this group, who they might have worked with already in the past on different cases, they know that it will be difficult for new information or additional info to be leaked out.

Well, if I remember correctly, we don't know when the videos were made. However, if the bag is the same, and we know when the Enquirer picture was made, it makes sense that the videos were made around the same time.

#1  - The photo in the Enquirer is not a photo but a screen capture from the video.

#2  Sleuth actually was the first one to work with the screen capture and saw what appeared to be Natalee's face way back in 2005, please read Sleuth's posts in the previous thread.

#3  It was subsequently copied and other recreated the same thing using their own screen captures of the video.

You're a sweetheart!  I'm sure that anything you come up with will be wonderful!  No rush! :D

God forbid they should see a little flaw in lost evidence, arresting wrong suspects while giving the OBVIOUS suspects 10 days to cover tracks, letting Paulus drive himself to the police station, obstructing a search warrent to search the property, tapping cell phones of her parents, Joran's ever-changing story, and on and on! THOSE things don't raise even a little red flag to an investigation! The problem is to put a tight lid on any info reaching the ears of the public and her parents? After all, they have no interest in this case and don't have any right to know how that Nappy Island devoured their daughter! Oh, F*** Them!
I make a commitment right here and right now, to do everything within my power..........and folks we all have far more power than we think, to shut that Island down economically.

Hello monkeys - quick in and out right now but I wanted to clarify one thing.  I did not 'find' the still.  I played the AruBay video and did my own screen capture from it, creating my own still.  From there I rotated the picture and tried applying different filters.   If I had not done the screen capture myself I would have thought it was altered (I never see anything in photos or images, not even in the clouds.  Call me pragmatic.  :wink:)

Sleuth - I worded that wrong.  I meant to say you were the original one to work with the screen capture.

I actually wasn't seeing what other monkeys were with those captures, and was only doing it because others wanted it enlarged/rotated, etc.  I just happened accross that one filter that seemed to make the contents stand out.  It started out very similar to what Patti was seeing a couple of nights ago and was asking someone to filter the one rock scene.  I don't see anything but bushes in that photo but will capture from the video and apply different filters this weekend...

And, btw, I knew it was you who had done the bag test but didn't want to out you   :lol:

I think they're referring to the small head that some think looks like Joran and some think is the head of the bartender kneeling/bending down behind the bar.

Just to the right of the guy in the plaid shirt leaning against the bar.  About mid-way up on his right side some see what they think is a very small head photoshopped into the photo.  I just think it might have been the bartender squatting down to grab a bottle from below the bar - looks like he has his hand around a liquor bottle...

American Press Is on Its Way to Aruba to Remember the Second Anniversary of the Holloway Case

Oranjestad- One more time an American press circus can be expected next month when the second anniversary of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway is approaching. As it is known, two years ago on the 30th of May it has been two years that Aruba found itself in a situation never seen before with the negative international attention when an American teenager disappeared and it brought a wave of negative activity with it that Aruba is still trying to recover from.

When the first year passed, it was to be expected that the American press would like to revive the entire episode that happened a year earlier. This indeed happened, but not in the way it was thought. One of the American tv channels that basically took over Aruba, meaning FOXNEWS, made a one-hour documentary, but others did not spend much attention to it [the anniversary].

This year, once more FOXNEWS is on its way to Aruba where they are planning a visit the second or the third week of May, to film aruba Aruba and then show the footage on the relevant date. Many people who have been approached turned down the interest, indicating that they are not interested in the case anymore and moreover they are tired of this situation.

In the meantime there is a case against Michael Saladin pending where he signed a waiver that the American government asked him to sign so that they can use his story and create another media circus. There are indications that if Saladin’s detention has to enter in the 60 day phase next week, there is a chance that Saladin could go ahead and give his lawyer the green light to release this waiver with all its consequences. It must be said at the same time that from the other side, Saladin received an avalanche of advice to not release the waiver, because it would be deadly to Aruba. But everything resorts in the hand of Saladin who is still in the hospital.

The problem is that the timing can be somewhat tricky because if the result is that just when the American press teams are in Aruba relating to the Holloway case, Saladin can have the news of the waiver which can initiate another complete circus on Aruba. Something that the financial experts have pointed out that can be deadly for Aruba. There are many investments taking place right now that can stop of Aruba receives such a blow again.

Oops! I quoted Sam's post because I also meant to say something to Angie about difficulty sleeping. Whenever I have problems getting to sleep, I concentrate on my breathing. I take a deep breath in and concentrate on saying "in" to myself. Then I breathe out and say "out" to myself. If I concentrate on doing this and don't let my  mind wander, I always drop off to sleep within 5 minutes.

The estranged husband of the 911 operator is at his house and the street where his house is has been closed off. There are an ambulance and police cars there, but the police aren't telling the news media anything. Someone did tell a reporter that the policeman/husband had threatened violence against himself, but that hasn't been confirmed.

Hmmmm, I wonder how we can contact Saladin or his attorney and tell them to go ahead and release that waiver?  :twisted:  :twisted:

Angie, sometimes I have trouble going to sleep when I have a lot of stuff from work spinning around in my head. That breathing thing works like magic when I'm like that. I mentioned it to hubby to the other day, and he says he's been doing that for a while now and it works like magic for him too.

I do the same thing, BT. Sometimes I concentrate on a visual at the same time, like waves rolling up on the shore and then going back out as I say "in" and "out." Angie I used to be a night Monkey. Many years so realy had to adjust my body clock. I did something similiar or is that similar to what BT described excep I added to it by first trying to relax different parts of my body. Like a form of self hypnosis.

Now I am confused I thought it was tiger who mentioned the liquid valium but may have been Mishy.  My first few CT Scans I was given valium to relax me because of being claustrophobic but I got over the fear of the CTScan because it is so lighted. But valium is good stuff for that.

I am such a bad dental patient that my Dentist makes me take a valium before any procedure, even a teeth cleaning (and they numb my mouth for that)  he says it isn't for me, it is for him!   :oops:

The sheriff and some of the police have left the house, but some of the police and the ambulance are still there. The reporter says he has heard secondhand news that is good, but he is waiting to confirm it.

Liquid Valium recipe




 Scale ingredients to  servings
2 oz Crown Royal® Canadian whisky
3/4 oz peach schnapps
3/4 oz Malibu® coconut rum
orange juice
cranberry juice






Fill a hurricane glass with ice, pour liquors and fill with equal parts orange and cranberry juice. Shake and serve with an orange and cherry garnish.

AMSTERDAM – The Supreme Court ruled today that a same-sex marriage conducted in the Netherlands must be recognised on Aruba. Two Dutch women who wanted to be entered as a married couple in the civil register in Aruba had brought the case to court.

The municipal official for the civil register in Aruba had refused to grant their request. The women took the case to court and won in the appeal case as well. Aruba finally appealed the case once again to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court found that any legal instrument drawn up by a civil servant in the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles or Aruba is valid throughout the kingdom.

Follow this line of thinking for a minute.

Joran last sees Natalee with 2 security guards. At... wherever they have gone to. The only details he has to change in his proces'-verbaal are the location and the race of the guys- in other words he set up the 2 that were arrested.

And clears his cronies who carried Natalee off somewhere. We don't know what condition she was in, but we know that Joran played a very large role in her state. Maybe they are removing a body. Or getting a waking-up, hysterical Natalee out of a place where she might be seen. Maybe Joran plans on going back to where she is later for more of what he wants.

I forgot to report that I did talk finally to my cousin who lives in Lafayette where the 911 dispatcher used to live.  Fortunately, she is not related even though has the same last name.

She said she knew the man's first wife, not this one.  The first wife left him because he frightened her because he was violent and always threatening to do things to her.

She also said locally lots believe that he killed his wife and that she is in that pond they drained but think they just didn't find her.  Must not have emptied it completely or the rain keeps refilling it?  

Also she said the man was very nice looking, handsome guy in his uniform and knew it and was what she called a big flirt and "smooth Operator"!   :shock:  Not sure what that meant exactly but she did say he had a reputation for flying off the handle all the time.

Anna, I worry about hidden cameras in hotel rooms in more places than just Aruba. Housekeeping in most hotels is a very lightly-governed group of people and there are all kinds of things they can pull if motivated to do so.

I went on a trip to Mexico one year.  Me, my sister, a friend and her teenage daughter.  I think that we were watched through some kind of camera system in our room.  It took a while for us to catch on.  The guy responsible was a man that managed the restaurant that I found out later was a coke freak.  Anyway, after being there a couple days and sorta socializing with him as he would reserve the restaurant and bar area after closing and let us go down there and drink and play pool... it got to the point that the minute we would get up in the morning, he'd call.  As soon as we got back to the room from an outing, he'd call... he was stalking us, well me.  I'd answer the phone and peak out the window and he'd be in the pool area, sitiing at a table,  with the phone to his ear looking up periodically toward my room...  It got to the point where within 30 seconds of waking up in the morning, the phone would ring.

Anyway... We got out of there, fast... well sorta.  We went to the lobby to meet a cab and he shows up.  He sat up there asking us why we were leaving, before our planned stay was complete and we made up some kind of excuse about an emergency and having to go back to the U.S.  Anyway, after like an hour and a half... which is unheard of in Mexico to have to wait for a cab, one shows up.  We had him take us to another Hotel... and guess who called.  We had to change Hotels again.

It was weird... and left me with a feeling of total vulnerability.

It is creepy!!  I just hate to stay in a motel or hotel any more and the first thing I do is look all around especially in the bathroom for holes in the walls and things like that.  Of course, with things so cleverly disguised these days, one would never find it!

Yes, cell phones or rather camera phones, video phones are being used in very "creative" ways!  And I am not clever enough to even use one to take simple photos!  But some even photo your credit card information when you use it in stores.

I know there has always been crime but predatory behavior really seems to be on the rise for whatever reasons.  Really scary and I would be fearful to go much of anywhere alone even at my age.  I am glad I don't have a daughter sometimes.  Other times, not, however.   :wink: But if I had one, would hate to let her out of my sight!  Bad enough for boys but girls are so often the targets these days.

Sad commentary on our times.  After I look for holes in the wall or cameras, I spray everything with Lysol, too, lol!!

Then you have to find a program to back track it.  Google usually will provide a couple of free ones.

It's hard to know what they are thinking but ten is a lot and very expensive for Holland to send.  And I have to wonder what it is they don't want leaked to the media.  Internal corruption perhaps?

You may be right that something along those lines is up because of the boycott as well.  The big picture is very strange.  For example, not just using the regular ALE members, sort of what we call internal affairs in LE maybe investigating some of their members?  Why not just deal with the same ones as always?  Maybe those are the ones in trouble.

I surely hope there is more to it than just closing the case.

I'm still up watching King of the Hill....there are characters named Holloway on this episode...forever will we all be haunted until truth and justice is served. and even then we will never forget. It truely is amazing when you step back and think about it. How we all strangers became one in the hunt for truth and justice for a stranger...what we have accomplished thus far...with the technology of our time...being on the forefront of information being exchanged not only for entertainment but for a cause. A cause truely worth fighting for. It sure makes me feel better knowing that if I ever need in even a small way Natalee and her family has needed us that ya'll will be there. This makes sense to me.  It probably is an investigation of the investigation.  The family had made a formal request (the letter) and Angelo came to the island.  Some "irregularities" were turned up and this is the formal report. IMO  
I just hope, the new prosecutor, that ripped into Paulus, was hinting at more to come...

In reference to the VDS computer records, is it the general consensus of the Monkeys that there is evidence that confirms two porn videos were downloaded from the site and not uploaded to the site?

We don't know about those movies, but part of the " alibi ' was that he was at home looking at porn. So therefore, he was home. My lights and TV are on when I am not at home also. When I just going not far away for a while.  It is a reasonable assumption that he was watching the movies but it is just as reasonable to believe that he was not. Wasn't part of the other excuse that he had to go home because he had school ?
And, there were others in the house. Paulus for sure and Val was there as Val signed on to the computer. I think he went back out. Or he was never there as he did check his Hot Mail from the Holiday Inn. The time of his log in to Hot Mail was at a time when he was still in the Holiday Inn.

Patti, it might help to type it in either a word document or email to yourself first.  At least that way you'll have it saved.

Patti, I'm certainly no expert on computers.  But once in awhile I have been able to recover things by hitting the back arrow on my browser.  So sorry you lost all that hard work!

Next time if you are working on a long post type it out in Word this way you can copy and past it when you are ready to post.  If you forget the math question you will still have it in your word document and you can recopy it.  Also word has spell check.  Just a thought.

Angie - you most likely need to download a fix from your scanner website.  A driver upgrade to allow your scanner to work with Vista.  What brand and model number is your printer scanner?

Angie dear, Vista is a new OS, it apparently works differently than your old OS. It would appear that you need to get some training/learning on how to use your new OS.

Hi Carnut - have you worked with Vista yet?  Sounds like there are alot of "little" things causing people problems.  Downloads/fixes for peripherals and software programs.

Anna, spray the Lysol into the vents too... you might fog the camera :lol:  except then you are getting the lysol smell from the vents.

I used to spray all the motel rooms and hotel rooms when I had to go on location. With one series we went to Tuscon very summer! "How the West Was Won" series. They'd give me the same Hilton hotel room each time. It was nice (had a large desk) in case I had to have school there, I guess. I'd change everything in the room... Sears loved me... new blankets, throw pillows, new stuff. Then I'd bring it back the next year. We were there for a few months.

Would only let the cleaning staff in every few days... new sheets hurt! I'd stand in the bath tub fulling dressed. Was so dirty from all the desert dust... used soap on the clothes then on me... The tub drain was soooo slow. Then I'd been standing in about 3 inches of brown water... from all the working grim. Nothing was ever glamorous.

I'm sure it's different, but I'll bet once you get it figured out you'll find that
it was designed to make everything 'easier' than it used to be.

You are probably trying to do things your old way and the new VISTA probably has a new 'easier' way of doing it, once you figure it out.

Hopefully you have the printer cabled to the PC.

I'm would imagine that if you turn off the printer your PC will beep to let you know it is aware that the printer is turned off and if you turn the printer on the PC will beep again to let you know if found your printer.

If that happens you will know that the printer is talking to your PC.

Then its just a matter of figuring out how VISTA expects to be told to do what you want it to do.

Yes Vista has some problems with being backwards compatible with many things. Microsoft always does that, kind of a planned obsolecence thing to sell more new stuff.

It would appear though if Angie bought the whole package together that everything will be compatible, especially if the Best Buy Geeks had made sure is was all working right to begin with.

Kinda why I suspicion it's an operator thing more than a hardware/fix thing.

I would still think that Vista probably works better than you think at least at regular PC things.

I had to have a computer guy out recently.  He asked if I had Vista and I told him I had heard about all the bugs and planned to stick with XP until everything was worked out.  He said it is not a matter of bugs, but that Vista is more complicated than XP.  What can be done in one simple step with XP takes 4 steps with Vista. He gave me some examples that I don't remember.

He said with the full understanding of computers that he has and the difficulties he has encountered, he can understand the frustrations of the average computer user using Vista.

 Nope its not easier.. it sucks. I have talked to others that have it.. and dont like it either and have the same torubles I do. My daughter and her hubby even puchased a new PC right before I got mine. They have VISTA and I called her earlier and she said she hates it and is stil trying to figure it out too. I did manage to figure out when I save a photo.. where it goes.. to save in my photobucket recently That was a start..lol
   Like I said..  I need to call Best Buy where I bought it and talk to one of the PC  geeks.  :)    Ty Carnut!!

Actually all GUI operating systems make things that a geek can do, harder to do.

I am a computer wizard at the command line and a GUI just gets in my way.

Still I'm sure that once folks get used to Vista it will be just as easy if not easier than XP at doing most things.

I'm sure Vista is a totally unnecessary replacement for XP, but it's gonna happen anyway. Just as XP was a totally unnecessary replacement for Win98Se.

Heck I still use a DOS filemanager to manage all my activities on my PC's.

I use Directory Manager ver2.5 by Computer Tyme last revision 07/04/88.

I use a DOS text editor Kedit 4.0 by Mansfield Software last rev 1990, to do all my web page creation and management for all my websites.

About the only thing that I use XP for is Photoshop and Firefox.

Never found a DOS Browser or Photo editor that was comparable, probably because the GUI world took over and made DOS programs unprofitable by the time photo editing and internet surfing became popular.

Windows stops "supporting" an operating system after so long a time.  They do this to force you to buy their new one.  They stop making updates for the old system so that it doesn't work with new things like media players and other stuff.

I liked Windows ME best ever system for me but they don't support it any more so nothing works on it.

Built in obsolescence at work.  Makes me mad, too, and I know I will never be able to use Vista like Angie will be a major problem because I just don't learn new things easily any more.  I dread the day I am forced to change to it but already at the MS website, everything is geared toward Vista and XP being phased out.

 :evil: I think this is why so many like MAC's as they don't change all the time like this.

You may also have to go to the HP website and update anything you have.  May be an HP to Vista problem.  I think I saw updates there for those using Vista.

I know, I know, bummer, too much trouble but you may have to have some HP software or other to make your scanner, etc. work.

I have Vista for windows and I don't have one problem with it.  I find it very user friendly.  In fact I could teach a class in it.

I turned off everything and curled up with a good book to read for the storms and went to sleep and slept through it all so must not have been too bad.  I always do that and wish I wouldn't in case of tornado, think I would get blown away because of being asleep but rain does that to me.  I just go to sleep no matter how hard I try to stay awake, the sound is very soothing and next thing I know I wake up when the rain stops!

Wish I could share that with Angie so she could sleep, too.

HP only sends the NEW ones in those automatic updates.  I bet if you go to their website and type in what you have, there are some there for it.  Especially in PhotoSmart or whatever photography and imaging you have.

I hope my system continues to work until some of these bugs are worked out.  The only problem is that about the time all the problems are fixed, they will come out with yet another new system to force us to use and start the whole thing all over again!
