Blue Angels had a crash at Beaufort,a few minutes ago.

Yes, very sad.  Witnesses are saying it looks like the plane simply lost power then altitude.  Crashed into a home and the pilot died.

Manifestation Planned For Monday

April 20th 2007, Aruba.

ORANJESTAD-The detention of businessman Michael Saladin is prolonged
for 60 days. The Public Attorney’s Office demanded the extension in
search of more clues. Friends of Saladin reacted amazed, and have
announced a manifestation infront of the Public Attorney’s Office on
Monday. The Public Attorney’s Office stands firm on its handling of the
case, and stresses that the handling is applicable in all such cases.

Saladin entered a fitness center in Oranjestad on March 23rd, with a gun
in his hand in search of the panhandler known as "Cachete". The
panhandler vandalized the car of Saladin's wife after Mrs Saladin told the
panhandler she was not interested in having her car cleaned. The
management of the fitness center called police, who shortly upon arrival
arrested both Saladin and the panhandler. The panhandler was released
after 6 hours but Saladin remained in police custody ever since.

The Public Attorney’s Office considers being in possession of a gun and
certainly pointing a gun in a public place, a serious crime. It has therefore
demanded the prolongation of the arrest of Saladin.

Saladin remained hospitalized due to health complaints since his arrest.
At the hospital he was being looked after by police. Saladin was released
from the hospital on Thursday, and transported to the Correctional
Institute where he will sit the 60 days.

Friends and supporters of Saladin will organize a manifest at 5:00pm on
Monday. The manifest will start infront of the Public Attorney’s Office and
will pass through mainstreet towards the fitness center where he was
arrested. The manifest will demand the immediate release of Saladin and
express the public discontent on aggressive panhandlers in downtown
Oranjestad.

I consider the drugging, kidnapping, rape, murder, obstruction of justice a serious crime also.  So is what time a suspect picked up his murdering son the one who was the last to be seen with a missing tourist the night she vanished off the face of the earth.

Oh, I see, Klaas. If you turn the panhandlers in Aruba, you risk getting your tires or even throat slashed, and you have no recourse whatsoever. And if you do try to teach him a lesson (Saladin has not said he intended to kill Cachete, did he), then you are locked up and the key thrown away for at least a couple of months. Meanwhile, the panhandler walks free after 6 hours, regardless of the damage to someone's personal property...

Pfffft! Just another reason not to go to Aruba. I wish MSM would cover this story...Sounds like we need to do another letterwriting campaign...just food for thought...

But he is an American and so deserving of our support until proven otherwise so I agree that it is odd he is arrested while certain others with local influence go free in highly questionable circumstances.

Having a police guard in hospital does not get reported as "taking care" here either  :roll:

One Earth Day, we all went to see Jane Goodall. Bought a bunch of books that I have passed to the 9 year old. Lots of pictures and I used to "read"  it to her. She was just looking at it yesterday and she remembered the "text" that I used to read. All of the chimps were given names that were our families' names. And they did the funniest things. My bro was an orange orangutang. I was a big gorilla cuddling with a baby.

Hi monkeys. This virus thingy I have is the BEST weight loss program around. I'm not hungry, and if I go ahead and eat anything, it makes me sick. However, I still have house cleaning to do, so I'm burning calories. I can hardly wait the see the svelte new me in a few days.  8)

Never thought about it that way Bleached. The kids in Grade Three are really into the chimps. We go to all the movies, saw one at IMAX about Jane and her Chimp Preserve. Tons of acting out afterwards. I can't do the chimps calls, but the rest of them can. Fun stuff.

Although I have been on a semi diet since January... just eating healthier and the weight loss is just happening now. Only about 12 lbs. to go, but the goal is to get some muscle replacement. Using the girlie weights.

The best thing I've done for myself so far is going to Curves. It's really helping my muscles. Do they have Curves in your part of the globe?

I'm aiming for 115, but I'm only 5 feet tall, so 115 is not skinny for a dwarf.  :lol:  :lol:

BT.........As soon as I get a release from the Dr., I'm going to do that! Curves is really close by and it's good to hear such good reports about it.

CBB - there's one close to me too, so it's really convenient. I like it because you don't need an appointment and they're open quite a few hours every day, so I can fit it into my schedule. It only takes about 30 minutes, and no one dresses up to impress anyone, so it's a comfortable place to be. I started going because I was having back problems and the physical therapist wanted me to strengthen my core muscles. It's done a really good job of that.

BT: A lady at work just swears by it, and she's lost a lot of weight too! I don't want to go where everybody looks like a model anyway! At this point, between the wreck and winter packing it on, I need to shed 25-30 pounds.... :oops: and I feel badly enough about it!

Speaking of a healthier lifestyle.........I've got to get moving! I'm going to hobble down to the dock and try to get the boat started. It will need "dewinterized" cleaning and that's easier to do while out on the water. Wish me luck guys.........I'm going to try to get John down there with me ( and then back up to the house ). It would be good for him to get outside, and if I get the battery in right, we can comfortably say hello to the lake today.  :wink:

Good for you going to Curves. There is a Curves right next door to me, but they close at 8PM. Closed Sundays. Saturdays open  'till 2 PM. It just doesn't fit with my work schedule. So, I just made a decision to move towards doing this stuff on my own like I used to. There is a large pool here and we are doing a family thing frequently. It's alot of fun, games, etc and the time just passes. Nothing extreme for me. Last year the
chiropractor demanded that I stay off the trampoline.  Last summer I noticed that my stamina and strength was gone and I didn't like it. I know that if I try to do an extreme regimen, I would just ditch it at the first boo boo. Or the sight of CHOCKY ! Winters are bad here for keeping fit, maybe next fall I will do Yoga. There is a centre close to my work now run by an old friend.

Nah, she's just there for a little change! Nat's Dorothy doll will be back.

The Curves here does not attract the Barbie girls. They go to a mixed Gym and dress like Paris Hilton. When my daughter was trying to lose the Baby Fat, she tried those Barbie Gym places and felt fat and ugly.
She came here for Aquasize in the pool as there used to be classes here we both took. It was the thing that started her back to being fit. No pressure. No posturing in front of the mirrors as there are no mirrors.
Then she moved on to Thai kick boxing. She is a strong woman now ! And she might weight about 130lbs. of lean at 5 ft 8. But it takes time.
Curves seems to attract regular looking women wearing regular looking sweats / clothes.

That's exactly what I like about it Kat_Gram. Ordinary women feel okay being there.

Well, BT Girl, you certainly are not ordinary ! !
But I know what you mean. If you do not feel comfortable at these places, you quit. I used to have access to  weight room where some of the football players here would train. I would try to go when they were not there. Late at night. Or when they had an away game. Or off season. Spent more time trying to figure when I could go than going.

IMO it could be a backlash from the OJ book, but then again it could be a boycott or not wishing to get into the whole area for many feel he is guilty and do not want the corporate image associated with that.

They travel, their children travel. It could have happened it their children. Believe me, if the book and fall out was worth anything, they'd be publishers chomping at the bit.

I am thinking they are more interested in publishing, someday, a book and movie about the case after it is "cold closed" this May.

IMO a TV movie would probably be filming around July to hit in Sept before the new series start.

You would think that he'd want to crawl in a hole somewhere
never to be heard from again, with all the stuff that we know
about him and his messed-up friends.  It just never ceases to
amaze me how unconscionable some people can be... after all
he did, he still wants to throw salt into the wounds of a grieving
family.

I think THAT's why Joran's book is not being published in the
U.S... people have had enough.  Plus, although we don't see
them all day, everyday, there are alot of people that support
the boycott on a matter of principle.

I hope the ones that are going to Miami will find that to be true
and where there is indifference, I hope they'll win a few more
supporters.

If they have any conscience at all, the thought of Joran making money off of Natalee's name should be highly motivating.

Exactly... But that makes me wonder if the family can sue Joran for

I have heard that the publisher tried very hard, and is still trying to get a book deal in the U.S..  Mostly from internet sources, though, so i don't *really* know.

Well, that's what I think... sometimes.

Don't know whether it's so much out of a feeling of guilt,

Since not a lot of posting is going on at the moment, I want to brag on my hubby to someone. I've been sick all day, and in addition to looking after me, he has worked his fingers to the bone. He mowed the lawn (and we have a big lawn), cleaned out the fridge, did the grocery shopping, cooked dinner, did the dishes, took out the trash for pickup tomorrow (at the end of a 1,000 foot driveway), and did countless small jobs I can't remember right now. Every time I told him he was working too hard, he kept saying, "You're ill - just rest."

Him is a sweetie pie.  :D

When news in the case was more frequent than it has been lately, I would want to stay up at night and talk to the monkeys. However, I have a habit of sitting on the bed with my laptop, so I would always sign off when hubby got sleepy. Whenever I saw hubby going to brush his teeth (which is a sign he's ready for bed), I would always say, "I have to go - hubby is brushing his teeth now."

Some monkeys began to speculate on whether hubby's toothbrush was actually code for something more exciting.  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

"compel" according to Black's Law Dictionary means  "to force".

CBS is asking them to provide the information that CBS initially requested.

They have made the requested already and the Kalpoes did not provide it (they are making excuses).  So now they are forcing them to provide the inforamtion.

Not the Dr. Phil suit but the wrongful death suit.  Think it's an odd CA term for motion to dismiss (maybe denying service so motion isn't honored??).  I really don't know.

Motion to quash is pretty routine.  They are just asking that the wrongful death suit be dismissed against them.  Just about every suit at least asks for this because I judge can't even do it unless they ask.  Not that the judge in this case is going to do any such thing but he couldn't even if he wanted to unless they ask.

So never hurts to ask and I am sure their attorney will give lame excuses why they should not be charged with wrongful death and then the judge will reject the motion to quash and the suit will go forward.

Now I am going to reread the post from Atticus at BFN and see what exactly he is saying because I think by adding an attorney they are some how admitting jurisdiction?  I wonder how that works!

I work and lurk. Not much conversation on the case lately that I've chimed in on because I've been pretty busy. I did spend some time looking at the chicago videos a few days ago. Saw more face reflections in the vehicle window. Now I need software that can capture video frames so I can convert the frames to jpg's.

The beer is good. It's a Belgium wit (wheat) beer that I made at my wife's request. She and her friends like it. It'll make a good summer beer. It's light gold in color and has orange and coriander flavoring.

I haven't seen Lalas post in a while, what's up with that? Anyone know? She asked me a question and I have an answer, but she's nnot been posting as far as I can tell.

Ado, I see you are brewing beer.  My DH made some Barley Wine a few years ago.  It had to sit and develop for several months but boy was it tasty.  Alcohol content was pretty high too. Nice taste, nice buzz.  Everything you'd want in a beer.

Answer - I don't think PVS would have allowed the HI story. I think J2K came up with that story on their own. If PVS knew of Natalee's condition/situation, he had nearly 24 hours to do damage control. He would have already come up with a better story for J2K, such as the "left her on the beach" story.
Were it me in PVS's situation and I knew something bad had happened, and I had decided to protect my son by coming up with a story, I sure would not have allowed Joran to be out the night after. I would have him at home making sure he understood every detail of the story we would tell the police. And I certainly wouldn't allow him to be out doing the same routine he had the night before.

Answer - I'm not sure he had a connection with her at the casino. I should have said "if in fact he may have seen or met Natalee at the casino".

I'm not Lalas or Tamikos but Beth stated that Natalee met BOTH Joran and his father at the casino.  At least she has that impression.

How about if Paulus did not anticipate the arrival of the Alabama Delegation so soon and was still in only the planning stages?  He likely thought he had until the next day when the first commercial flight from the Southeast arrived for he did not likely anticipate the use of a private jet arriving at eleven p.m.

Also in I think his last statement pre arrest he stated that he knew Joran was out.  Was this to give the appearance of normalcy?  Was Joran really even at the casino?  Do we only have the word of Pimps for that and friends for life types who would lie?

I tend to think Joran and Deepak were home until Charles Croes went by and saw the car there and only then did they leave.  I don't think Joran had been at the casino all evening as alleged.  He may have made an appearance to establish an alibi and appear business as usual but remember he is wearing his flip flops.  Beth also said not dressed for casino.  I wonder what she meant by that but I must conclude old clothing and flip flops as in doing some sort of dirty work instead of playing cards.

If this has not been verified by somebody other than pimps, that Joran was even at the casino, I have to wonder.  I do believe he walked the route they drove the night before from the racquet club but think he was looking for something maybe thrown from the car.  I guess you could say I question how long he was at any casino and would like to know the exact times.

Yes, Paulus would have had a better story in line by the next morning but I think he was totally taken off guard by the fast arrival of Beth and Jug and friends.  

JMO and I am not sure at what point Paulus first became aware of the problem or if he was a part of it.  My theory still, after all this time, has many alternatives.

I have lots of "if this happened" then "thus and so" but if the other happened, then something else.

All I do know is that J2K and Paulus all know what happened and at least one or more of them have to know what happened next because they caused it to happen or did it themselves.

I Haven't posted in awhile due to illness but wanted to check in to see how things are going or if any new news out of Aruba on the Dutch investigators. Doesn't seem to be anything reported as of yet.

I think the Dutch team are simply there to close the case, as they were in the first place, to just check over the Dossiers to see if there was anything more that was missed to bring to a possible trial. Ofcourse we all know they could start a trial based on substantial evidence but I don't foresee that ever happening. The Dutch team has come to a conclussion we all don't want to see or hear, but we all know it was bound to happen. I don't have much faith in the Dutch or the Arubans.

Keeping Natalee and her family always in my thoughts and prayers.

You'd think this is what Joran was facing from the way they scurry about to cover up and protect him.  Remember Anita saying that everybody wants to "hang" Joran.  I found that a very odd word for her to use.  Maybe Tamikos can find that exact quote but I think it was her speech when he was released from jail, not sure.

She used the word "hang" which is so odd considering they have no death penalty and the sentence for a minor is next to nothing compared to what a person in this country would receive.

Then when all those suicides by hanging cropped up, her words came back to me and I had to wonder if it meant anything.  I guess not but she is for sure the head Drama Queen with her claims of a death penalty where there is none.  That is why The Netherlands refuses to honor treaties they have signed with us, claiming it is because we have the death penalty.

Well, they should have thought of that before agreeing to the treaties in the first place and now should keep their word regardless of their unentitled opinion of our judicial system.

So some casino worker or SECURITY COMPANY leaked them without permission of Posner to whom they would likely legally own.

At least I don't know who leaked them  but somebody else might have heard.  I don't think it is the kind of thing a person would admit to doing since they were technically the property of the casino which belongs to Murder Mansion Poster.

But at the time they were first released, the article on ABC called Posner a close family friend of the Sloots, something that was promptly retracted and no longer appears in the article.

I had asked him what clothes Natalee had been wearing that night. He told me that Natalee was wearing a blue skirt and a blue top. I also said to Deepak that the police would come and pick him to so that he could give a statement. Deepak had told me that he would come to the police station on his own.

The Dutch Investigators have been on Aruba for what like 10 days now? Just what are they doing? Joran's gearing up for a book tour and the Kalpoes are playing phone tag down at the ole internet cafe.. what's wrong with this picture? I already knew PVDS said 4 AM the night the Holloways arrived, and he changed it to 11 AM a few weeks later, and then back to 4 AM, and then at some point made a declaration that he had taken Joran and Natalee to the HI at 4 AM.
But because that statement is his most recent statement doesn't mean it's the truth.
I know there are two witnesses claiming to have seen them around 4 AM.
I know there are assumptions that the "taped information" and the declaration about taking Joran and Natalee to the HI at 4 AM  indicate there is a taped phone conversation from that night with either Joran or PVDS talking about something related to Natalee.

I've also read the opinions on the black jack table footage and the statements by the MB students. I can agree that is likley Paulus sitting there, but I don't have proof. I do tend to go along with everyone that he was at the casino that night playing poker.

Afterwards we found out that he had gone out to Carlos & Charlies without my permission

"And he was telling these girls that those are his gambling buddies, that they play poker together. And then he proceeds to lean across the bar and tell the bartender, "I need four shots of 151.' He just leans across the bar; the bartender just lines up four shots of 151. These girls had no idea. It makes me wonder, is this the shot he was buying my daughter right before closing time? A shot of 151? I wish Natalee would have been able to see that those three were tightly connected. She didn't have that privilege. All she thought was she was getting into an Aruban cab. She didn't have a chance. She didn't stand a chance."

Twitty maintains her belief that the story of her daughter's disappearance lies with the three friends of whom only Van der Sloot remains in custody.

I am with bleachedblack that these guys were part of something beyond just their own little antics that night. I think they had designs to film Natalee or even hand her off to others. Whether or not she lived long enough for any of that to happen is where the mystery lies here.

O/T, the story about the South Carolina case rings some bells. The girls were under 18 and for THAT, at least, he should have been convicted. HOWEVER, I can state that underground pot "grow rooms" are a definite and pervasive reality and it is not outside the realm to think that the 2 girls were wanting in on the happy harvest, to the point of doing some very unspeakable things with that creep. I have posted before (WAY BACK, like on June 12th, 2005 no less) that I had a family member who built one of those things and something like that would have been an ideal spot for hiding a kidnappee. I am not willing to ascribe "poor innocent victim" to those girls just yet. I know from the personal experience I went through that plenty of drug-connected kids want in on that clandestine pot action. My cousin's activities were well-known amongst the culture and were widely applauded by them. I was the voice who tried (in vain) to persuade the kid's mom, my aunt, to turn him in to save herself and the rest of her family. I won't relate the final outcomes, they are much too graphic.

The comment about "on the way to Panama w/ help of the Carib" is a reference to Natalee being dumped in the ocean and being carried by currents to Panama. That was the thinking of the people Simian got his info from.

I am still torn between the ocean...out in the deep, 1000 ft water, those in Aruba know that the current takes objects thrown into the water from the north/west coast to panama where it is likely to wash up.

At times I think there had to be a reason for the decapitation early in the case which was likely related to Natalees disappearance. IMO this gives credibility to the cremation theory.

Art Woods believes there is a 20% chance that Natalee is still alive, and at times I feel the same. After all ,ask anyone 3 years ago about the whereabouts of Amy Bradley and I am sure the majority would have responded that she was dead. IMO this has been proven to not be the case. The same could be true for Natalee.

I sure wish they would share their point of view about things.

I have talked to Art Wood and I wish I could have heard that 20% figure directly from him. He didn't give me the impression he had that much belief she was alive.

get the family to THINK that she's dead and give up while they have

I made it very to clear to everyone that Dave Holloway and I are very skeptical of the video and photo’s because of the fact that Dave searched the area repeatedly during the first few days of June and also because of the fact that whoever posted the video has never come forward.

As you may or may not know this video was posted by the same person who posted the painting of the rocks video.  This is important in that I felt that a news story regarding these photo’s may well help us identify this individual. In other words someone might well come forward with information.

Art is saying that it is wrinkles in the plastic, not a fake but nothing can really be seen through the plastic into the bag.  So basically, we are not seeing inside into the contents of the bag but artifacts of the wrinkles in the plastic.

That's why I have ignored it because I'm not sure what to make out

 I have watched Forensic Files for years and have seen some shows where they used garbage bags.   What the suspects used.. and when they ran tests on it.. it clearly showed the image of the victim.  :cry:
  Carpes photobucket has always intrigued me for this same reason.
 I wanted to go to school REALLY bad for forensics ...... and had a detective talk me out of it.. telling me a person could work on one strand of hair for a year or longer. He even teached criminology at the local college here.  Id love ot be in school anyhow for something in that  type of field.. but fear I am getting too old.. LOL  < sorry, I am rambling on here..lol>

I think Art is saying they went ahead with the story while the analysis of the photo was taking place, based on the outcome of that analysis.  Then later the photo was deemed to show only wrinkles in the plastic.  Getting the story back in the public eye was the main point, I think.  But it was later determined by experts that it is artifacts or wrinkles in the plastic.

Like looking at clouds, I think we can all see something if we look hard enough.

I used to live in Portland, Oreogn, home of the Winter Hawks, Junior
Hockey league.  Had season tickets - front row - center - behind the
goal so you know there was plenty of action.

The best Hockey I ever saw played was when they hosted the Cup.

I think that if Art Wood believed that Natalee's body was in that bag, we wouldn't have heard about it first in that particular media outlet. And also, a whole lot of activity would have been generated.

Not a fake in the context of being deliberately made and planted.  An illusion of the wrinkles in the plastic just as Art says.  It doesn't have to be a fake for us to see things that are not really there.  Remember the example of the illusion?

If this were real, I think the family would have been all over it.  They just aren't.

Sure Patti..I will take a look. I have looked and looked and looked at that Bag and I just dont see positive proof. I do find it very eeeery the way he strolled up to the bag while video taping. :o

I know hotshot picked up some of that paint stuff in Aruba and it was more like puddy. Too bad she didnt bring any back with her  :(

If you are referring to the picture above, I think it resembles Natalee.  My problem is I don't think it's possible that Natalee would be in that bag looking that good.

3 to 4  engine companies that I know of outside.  Roof was fully engolfed or as the firedudes I used to work with would say involved??

  Firemen dudes were in a cheery picker way up high.. I am not sure if the house next to it caught.. or if they were watering it down .
  Water trucks came.. so  water pressure must be low here in the hydrants.  Lotsa action still outside.. flames seem to have subdued some..
 But   P friggin U...  smoke bigtime down the street. I smell like I was at a bonfire.

 I hope they all got out safely. I dont know who did what but they got coolers of gator~aide set up for the firemen. If my pics turn out ok.. I will post them in the lounge. Hubby has to load them on his laptop.  My camera of COURSE wont work with windows Vista which pisses me off. But there is a few things on my printer that you can insert a camera card into.  I dont know if the pics will turn out good. I grabbed my camera.. and had to set the dang date and time.. and God only knows what I out on it.. and the year. lol  I will porbbaly be up fo a bit yet.. my neighbors dog is crying his head off cause of the commotion.  :(
