s Im in denial. My dog Happy just died jus before I awoke at 5 20. He jaw is locked and cold. Now his head  getting cold. i keep trying to get him to wake up. I am so lost. His legs are stkff except the paw joint. oh what will i do iam so sad  ::MonkeyTears::

am soooo alone   i called my neighbor, only one upht at this time  he boig over some whiskey and a Hansen Root Beer soda all he had i mixed them. not too bad
Happy's 15, a rescued coppper with cream/white little booties and middle/chest Austrian Shepard. Became blind about 2 years ago he's 15+
pper colored with wi never use chemicur als on him. I combed him last night. few fleas not they are in mass jumping on e but will end up in a mixure in a Meals on wheels carbord thingie with whisky root beer  byb bye fleas

I'm so sorry too, IBE.  Dogs have a special place in our hearts.  I believe that heaven is the place where everyone we ever loved and every dog we ever loved runs out to meet us, dogs jumping up and down and wagging their tails.

Can you call a friend to come and sit with you for a bit?

I just saw your post in the Caylee thread that your puppy-child has passed away.

I am so sorry for your loss. Hold him and kiss him and tell him you love him. You will meet up again. He knows how much you love and need him.
I am comforted that he passed away with you at home.  I think all dogs are Angels from God. He is now with God and all your loved ones. They will take good care of him.

When my sister lost her puppy-son he was cremated and is currently in the living room. My sister gave me instructions thatwhen she passes away  his remains are to be put in her coffin.

I will pray and send Monkey strength for you and Happy.

I am so sorry for your lost   reading your post I was thinking even we do not you personally, we can feel your pain  for losing your little friend. Even you know your friend is dead you still holding him…I cannot believe how cold is casey’s heart that she threw her little daughter like trash….  I really do not think that Casey hold her daughter in her last seconds of live or her first seconds of being dead.  My prayers are with you, reading your post remind me when my little friend died, he decided to died on my feet, he knew that I was going to class so I would come back late night and he couldn’t wait …he came to me and died in front to me, I cried and I covered his body with my body just to keep him warm even I knew that he was dead, I saw my housekeeper preparing his hot water in a bag and I grabbed the bag and I tried to keep him warm with my body and the hot water bag …..but he was already dead..I didn’t notice at the time but I burned my arms with the hot  water bag, it wasn’t too bad though …but I was in shock for almost 4 days. I didn’t go to class, I  canceled my birthday party and I was completely out for 4 days…..i am still missing him and I feel your pain…my thought are with you <3

Off topic and very sorry but I must send IBE a big hug and two shoulders for the tears to fall on.  I lost my baby last month and I'm still looking for my 75lb foot warmer, bed partner, constantly by my side best friend!  I so understand IBE!!  Go ahead and clean Happy's ears, get his favorite blanket, towel, one of your shirts, whatever would be comforting to him/her and wrap your baby up tight as possible to make Happy feel like your arms are still around him.  Lie down and love on him and say whatever you feel like.  I did this and cried for more than an hour and my hubby did same and we took him and buried him.  I so hope you have someone to help you but do what you have to.  I don't know if you are religious but I know my baby needed to go to heaven cause God and my other loved ones in heaven needed to see him.  He's up there seeing our min Schnauzer and the mommy who raised him, Maggie and with my Daddy.  It's gonna be hard IBE I won't lie to you but something was wrong and your baby went quickly and I hope that means there was no suffering.  IBE, I will be home tonight after 8pm and if you need to go somewhere online and email/chat, I would be more than happy to listen no matter how long!  Be strong and do what you have to and take it very easy please!  If you don't want to talk and don't feel like posting anymore today, at least post a I'm here and okay quick line so we know you are around!  Many, many Monkey hugs and love to you and Happy!  I'll be on my phone and not posting till tonight but I'd like to see a post from you if poss during the day today, please?!

To the person who lost their little one today, I'm so sorry about your loss, but remember when god takes something he is just opening our arms up for something else. I know that's not comforting right now, but its true.

 I had a little maltipoo who went missing and I never found him, he was outside only 3 minutes at the time I almost had a nervous break down and was driving from 1 end of NC to the other, half the time I couldn't remember who I talked to, where I had been or anything for like 3 months that time period is a blank in my life. I lost weight, I started smoking again. To some of my friends he was just a dog but to me he was my baby we were together 24/7 for 2 yrs.

Now I can just imagine if Caylee were my granddaughter, I don't think I would even be here to watch justice.

A woman called begging me to give 2 little doggies  a home, which I did only they became my mom's So I think god for sending them.

I know this is off topic, but IBE, you  have me in tears.  I have 4 pups and can't imagine losing one.  But YOU DO have family! You have the Monkey family who all love you!  Prayers for you and your furbaby. 

BTW - He's running in heaven with Caylee to play with and love on ;)  I can picture it now.......

I lost my dog earlier this year.  I still cry every day for the little guy.  The pain won't go away but I promise it will get easier.  You'll remember the good times more & more and eventually you'll smile, even though you're crying, just thinking of Happy.  Let yourself grieve however you need to and don't let anyone make you feel silly for being so upset over an animal.  MY dog was my first baby and I miss him dearly.  I'm so sorry!

Hugs IBE.  I know this must be so hard.  Happy is with his Maker running and playing with the other dogs and you will see each other again. 

My deepest sincere thanks to the fine Monkeys who helped me this morning when my dog died. My Happy was 15, a rescue dog and we were real buddies for 14 yrs.You helped me through what I had to do. We are Family!

I am starting bereavement counseling and other stuff I need to cover tomorrow.

PS I got home just when the grieving and trauma expert was coming on. Thought it was timely for me and looked forward to learning. Slept through the whole thing. Did I miss much?

Oh gosh, they are showing George on the stand. Oh Bless him. A broken grandfather they said on HLN just now. I agree. Bless him.

i'm glad you posted an update and took the steps you need to help yourself through this.  I'm kinda glad you missed George's testimony - it was sad.  harmful to casey :) but sad for him.  Unfortunatly you missed a really good laugh with the grief expert.  If you feel sad again, watch it, make sure you watch the whole thing including voir dire.  it will make you laugh!!

I don't know if you read the Break Room posts but I'd just like to say
that I'm so sorry to hear about your Happy.  I hope you are feeling
better now and I especially hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Your post broke my heart a bit because I lost a Silky Terrier over
20 years ago...because someone left the gate open.  The last I
heard of her was a phone call from someone who saw my "Missing
Dog" poster -- and they said they had seen her alone and shivering
under a car for shelter.  After that...no word.  Gone forever.

She was an abused dog that we had adopted and because she was
so fragile, shaken and sad I decided to name her "Happy."  And in
time she really did become happy. 

My heart goes out to you and I hope that when you are ready, you
can find another furry friend to share your love and companionship
with.

I am so sorry that Happy had to cross over the Rainbow Bridge today. My heart has been breaking for you today. I didn't want to post in Caylee's thread so I thank you NM for giving a link where we could post.

 Tears flowed down my face today as I read your post for you and for Happy.
I lost my precious , loving furbaby Butchie on 12/28/10 and the pain and sadness is still so raw. I miss him desperately. I still cry because I can't reach out and hug him.  He was my best friend my constant companion just the sweetest ,happiest, most loving  furbaby I have ever been blessed to share my life with. I have shared my life with many furbabies, but none like Butchie. God sent him to me and I know in my heart that one day I will get to kiss his sweet face and see that fluffy tail wag again, as it always wagged while he was here with me. It sounds like Happy was that special furbaby  to you. What a sweet sweet name Happy is.

There are no words that can truly comfort you right now or ease your pain, but I pray that all of the sweet words that have been written to you here by so many sweet monkeys will help you and comfort you somewhat.

You and Happy are in my prayers. God bless you IBE and I pray he holds you in his precious hands and gives your broken heart some peace. It does take a while. This is the first time I have been able to talk about Butchie crossing over the Rainbow Bridge here on SM because it still hurts so much. I just wanted you to know that my heart breaks for you right now.

I was thinking the same thing.  I know there are rules here about keeping posts relevant to the topic, but IBE seemed so sad and really needed to talk.  But this place is so big...so many places to post...it's so confusing!  I'm glad all IBE's were posts left to stand for awhile before they arrived to their new place.

IBE, we have been posting friends FOREVER, back to Dan Rheil even so believe me when I say I feel your pain and have lost dogs to old age before as well.

I always took comfort in the fact they had good long lives and yours certainly did.  Having pets is going to leave us in this situation over and over because they have such short life cycles compared to ours.  It is the normal order of things and how they are supposed to be.

I haven't bred dogs since my heart attack and I miss those pups like anything but I just can't do it and so this gives me a chance to work with local shelters and rescue dogs when I have the time and feel well enough.

Hard as it is to do, I hope you can let Happy's spirit go to the Rainbow Bridge to play and frolic with the other dogs while waiting for you.

There they are FOREVER YOUNG and hard as it is, try to find room in your heart to love other dogs who NEED you such as volunteering in Happy's memory at a local shelter or doing something for all the dogs who need your love so much.

I knit things for a local small no-kill shelter, sometimes from recycled plastic bags called plarn for the dogs or collect food from K-mart and deliver to the foster homes even though I have to have others actually lift it. 

You will be given the idea of who needs you where when you are feeling better so do know this hurt will not last long and your broken heart will heal.  Nothing will ever take the place of Happy but your heart will grow a whole new room for all those other dogs needing love. 

I just have one little Yorkie as we are only allowed one in the apartments where I now live but I do know what that "pack of two" feels like and that you are devastated right now. I will pray for God to lift this pain and replace it with love for other dogs or cats or pets and that you will be able to transfer some of the love you had for Happy to them and be able to love them at least a little of what you did Happy.

Remember how much Monkeys love you and how long we have all been here.  We are holding you and Happy up to God in prayer now and you will feel it soon.

IBE.... I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your "Happy". I lost my best friend of 15 years about 2 years ago...her name was StinkSy and I still miss her terribly. I have since acquired 3 more rescue dogs , I love them much, but still miss my Stinky. We got her when my son was 4 years old, he named her Stinky because he said she had stinky dog breath.
Once again, so very sorry for your loss....

IBE, I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get online to pass on my thoughts and prayers to you and condolences for your loss.   We have two "babies" both rescues from no kill shelters and they are our babies .....   My heart goes out to you as I know one day before long, I will be in your shoes.  Our oldest is going blind and has health issues but as long as he is happy and not in pain we will do whatever we can to keep him happy and comfortable.  I have enclosed a poem for you that soothes my heart whenever I think of the inevitable:

Thank you for sharing the pics of Happy and your kitty with us IBE.   :smt056  "Happy" really looked happy!  And your kitty looks a lot like a black and white one my family had and his name was "Figaro" after the cat in "Pinocchio".

IBE - when I responded to your email, the one where you sent the photos, it came back as undeliverable.  I'm sending from my hotmail account smklaas@hotmail.com because my klaasend@scaredmonkeys.com doesn't work right.  I can receive on my klaasend@scaredmonkeys.com but can't send.

What a beautiful dog - I know she is missed greatly.  She is in puppy heaven - wagging away.
