I am going to watch.  It will be painful to see this egg donor receive this sentence when I believe she deserves nothing less than LWOP.  owever, I have to believe that JP will pull some sort of Hail Mary Miracle and have her stay in jail until April 2012.  (And then place her in with the general population...)

If JP imposes sanctions against JB will he do it tomorrow after sentencing she who will not be named?  Or will that have to be done later?

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Should Casey Anthony be released Thursday at her sentencing for lying to investigators, the 25-year-old could be hard-pressed to piece together some semblance of a normal life following her acquittal on charges that she killed her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

The surprising verdict in her trial continued to be the talk of cable and network news Wednesday, a day after she was acquitted of first-degree murder.

"Anthony will always be dogged by the belief that she killed her child," said Lewis Katz, a law professor at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. "She will never lead a normal life."

Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, told ABC News he would argue Thursday that Anthony should be sentenced to time served — she's been behind bars for nearly three years — and released. She could get a year in prison for each of the four misdemeanor counts of lying to law enforcement officials of which she was convicted Tuesday.

"If you look at the time that she's done, it's quite significant," said Baez, who nonetheless acknowledged concern about his client's safety should she be freed, given the high emotions surrounding the case.

"I am afraid for her," he told ABC's Barbara Walters.

In a motion filed Wednesday, the state is urging a judge to set a hearing so it can tally up costs and slap Anthony with the bill.

"The efforts and costs of the investigation were extensive and not immediately available and accordingly, the State of Florida respectfully requests this Court to set a hearing within 60 days to determine total costs," the motion says.

The motion cites a Florida law that allows the state to fine defendants in criminal cases to recoup money spent.

"I think that is such a bogus move by the state," CNN legal analyst Jeffery Toobin said on CNN's "John King USA."

"Casey Anthony won and the state lost," he said. "The state's got to deal with that fact. Maybe they should be better at their jobs, not trying to sue the winner of this case. I just think that this is silly, trivial, demeaning to all concerned."

Marcia Clark, the former Los Angeles prosecutor in the 1995 O.J. Simpson murder trial, said California has a similar law that allows defendants to be fined.

"Look, we're all in dire straits financially and when a case costs undue amount of money and there's extra costs, really should the taxpayer bear that cost?" Clark said. "Why shouldn't the defendant bear the cost? She was convicted, after all. She wasn't completely acquitted."

Texas Equusearch, a firm that helped search for Anthony's daughter, also wants its money back..

The company said it used 4,200 searchers and spent $112,000 looking for Caylee in Florida after the girl was reported missing n July 2008, CNN affiliate KTRK reported.

Tim Miller, the head of company, told the affiliate he now believes Caylee was never missing -- and he is contemplating a lawsuit.

I will not be watching.  I cannot even read the news.  I feel a very strong guilt, I do not know why.  I cannot believe this wench will be walking the streets tomorrow.  I am fighting myself from even clicking on this site, figure the longer I stay off of this site, the sooner I may forget.

Casey did not win.  Caylee lost.

Caylee is free and happy and she cannot hurt her any more and neither can her family who is supposed to love her.

Defense attorney Cheney Mason vented his anger toward the media Tuesday after his client, Casey Anthony, was acquitted of murder. Mr. Mason is angry because he believes the press convicted Ms. Anthony in their coverage.

Now, I have some sympathy for the counselor, because the American media will say pretty much anything these days. But I do believe that Mr. Mason was giving me the finger as well, because I am thoroughly convinced that his client is a killer.

Mr. Mason is entitled to his opinion, as am I. His general disapproval of the media is patriotic. But the middle-finger demonstration was pinheaded and immature.

Seeing juror #3's interview explained how this happened to me. The idiot said something to the effect that the State didn't PROVE how Caylee died or by what means or exactly where and when. She went on to say that without PROOF, then she couldn't find Caylee guilty.

There were no jury instructions to check your common sense at the door! When a checklist of detailed descriptions are not handed to you, then you have a whole hosts of brain skills to use, provided you have a brain! You start with identifying the obvious, go to logic and deductive reasoning and move on to process of elimination, etc. In short, you REASON IT OUT!!! That's where REASONABLE DOUBT comes from.......... you REASON!!

This jury did not do their job. They were JURORS, not trash recepticles with an eject button for everything that was not an 8x10 glossy!! There's a difference between "determining" and "regurgitating"! They would accept nothing less than undisputed proof and heard clearly from Baez that the State had to PROVE their case while the defense held no such burden at all.

Had they simply and methodically gone through the reasoning process they would have arrived at truth and that's the real goal. They were searching for proof while truth was right in front of them.

They should be ashamed to have interviews or be seen in public. They should have to wear bags over their heads. Holding the bag off their shoulders would at least be some use for the brains they can;t figure out how to use.

The term, "Travesty of Justice" is almost cliche......... I now truely understand what that means. It means Caylee's jury.

Good Morning everyone..I dont know if I will watch or not.. I havent made up my mind yet.. I get sick every time I hear from a juror or Bozo and Company.
I know Caylee is smiling down from heaven at everyone in the world... You all know theirs a reason for everything that happens in this life.
Maybe God used Caylee to get the Caylee Law, I mean look at Zahra maybe this can be used to put Adam where he belongs, and so many others. The juror made a comment that you could not kill someone, not knowing. WTF, you were provided with lesser charges that would not have provided the death penalty. UNREAL.

Here is my question to all these jurors who blew it ... will they spend more time on TV, radio, writing books and getting booking agents than the pathetic 10 hours they spent deliberating.

This jury totally blew it as the believed the conspiratorial theories of George and not the caregiver who was last seen and responsible for Caylee.

(or, mourning monkeys.)  I've got to say, I just feel bereft.  I am so sad about the verdict.  But you know what?  Casey's life is going to be worse than ever...I truly believe that.  Cindy is going to pay too.  I don't want vigilante justice for Caylee, Casey will do something heinous and be punished.  I have to believe in a greater good.  My favorite thing right now is when the porn company rescinded their offer to her to star in a film...No one wants to see her, clothed or unclothed.  Hee hee.

I have to agree.  I think they were intimidated.  I put nothing past the sleaziness of the defense team.  Mason knew all the tricks, and Baez probably had a few of his own to offer.

Appasrently no one instructed the jury in the fact that you do not even have to have a body to find a person guilty.  If you fed somebody to the sharks, does that mean you get to go free?  It doesn't work for the mafia and it shouldn't work for Casey.  I believe instructing the jury is the responsibility of the judge.  Attorneys can add if they feel it necessary.

In addition to failing to take the time to properly instruct the jury, I think this judge stacked the jury against the prosecution by not allowing the prosecution to strike a few of them such as Juror #3/Farmville who said she could not judge another based on what someone said about them.  I also think the judge was far too concerned with a reversal on appeal of any of his decisions so he gave the Defense far too many breaks.

I do wish someone would ask the jury if they really believe if you hide the body until all the evidence is gone, you should walk.  But I am afraid they would answer yes they do think that.

Here is a newsflash to the JURORS ...

If something makes you sick to your stomach and brings you to tears ... you know you have made the wrong decision. Your own body was telling you, WTF are you doing. STOP!!! Go back and look at what you are doing and do the right and just thing.

As I have previously stated, this jury was either mentally clueless, just was over it and did not care, did not understand what their charge options were, or do not understand that reasonable doubt does not mean absolutely no doubt, no way, no how.

I feel the same way.

I am not going to worry too much about these A's.  ALL of them are about to get their's.  KC will forever be an outcase and have no where to fit in.  She can't go home, she can't go to ther brothers, she can't go to her friends.  She and Bozo have burned all bridges for this murdering HO.  Her life is over now.  No amount of money will help her.  Too many people standing in line to get theirs from the injustice she did by murdering her baby but what she did to anyone she ever knew in her life.

And Jose Baez pretending this was for certain a death penbalty case and that he saved a life makes me want to vomit!  I don't think anybody thought she would get the DP so he is just exaggerating and blowing his own horn more.

I agree. When I heard that juror #7 cried when the verdict was being read, I knew s/he wasn't crying because they were so elated to let this woman go. No person of sound mind would hear and see all of that evidence and truly believe that.  ::MonkeyNoNo::

Wouldn't that be awesome? Surely the judge has heard the disgust not only by members of the public, but by members of the media- many of those including defense attorneys. He knows how Baez acted in court.  You cannot tell me that he doesn't believe Casey is guilty deep in his heart.  He has been more than fair to the defense.. 

I do have  a question that popped up in my head at 2:30 in the morning.  Ok, so each count of lying to police is a year.  What about the check forgery? She didn't serve any time for that yet, did she? I don't think I ever heard that charges were dropped.  ::MonkeyEek::

I am of the opinion that the jurors were crying for themselves, much like Casey Anthony does.

I am sure someone will complain but I firmly believe it is the owners RIGHT to decide who to let in his property. I am sure the "jurors" are unhappy that people hate their actions but as I have always told my kids, actions have consequences. I hope that more people stand behind justice.

She was convicted of six counts of check forgery.  That is one reason Bill Sheaffer
said that the judge may not give her credit for time served and give her the additional
four years...one year for each count of lying to LE.  HE also said that TES should sue
for the money spent for their searches.

The one juror said that the vote at one point was 6 and 6 for manslaughter.  Six of them then caved in.  They could not have gone  over the evidence, like they should have, in that short of a time period.  They never asked questions, they never could have reviewed everything.  More proof of a travesty of justice and more proof that everything that comes near the Anthonys comes away tainted.

Jesse Grund will be on Dr. Drew, something about how they tried to pin it on him and what they did to his family. Hope there is another lawsuit against the Anthony family or should I say coven ?   
I am off to work. The jury spoke and the only thing the public can do is boycott any media where these involved parties are on. Do not buy any books and all of that.

Casey Anthony has arrived in Chief Judge Belvin Perry's courtroom this morning for her sentencing hearing.

Perry has not arrived yet.

Anthony, who normally wears her long hair in a bun, is wearing her hair down today and she is huddling with her attorneys. She looked over at one of her other attorneys with a beaming smile.
Earlier, at least two deputies were seen at the Orange County Courthouse carrying gas masks in anticipation of a strong reaction following this morning's sentencing..

Other officers are patrolling on horses.

Public outrage has been building since Anthony was acquitted Tuesday of first-degree murder and other serious charges in connection with her daughter's death in 2008.

Calls to the Orange County Sheriff's Office about its preparations have not been immediately returned.

About 50 people have gathered peacefully outside the courthouse this morning for today's milestone moment.

The scene outside the courthouse this morning seemed relatively normal -- spectators who were lucky enough to get tickets Wednesday lined up as they have for weeks.

They have to take into consideration her prior charges and her sentence for that which won't count toward this the time. Most think February of next year.

I'll never be satisfied,but I will take every day we can get to keep this murderer in jail.

LE has taped off two areas in front of the courthouse, one for Casey 'supporters' and one for Casey 'protesters'.  One man holding a sign who is a supporter, walking around just outside the area of the protesters.  The protesters cannot step across the line from their area, so he is walking back and forth in front of them, taunting them.  Protesters saying he should be over in the supporter area, not taunting them.  Lots of yelling etc.

CNN) -- A prosecutor in the Casey Anthony trial responded Thursday to a remark by one of the jurors who acquitted Anthony, saying the jury should not have considered possible penalties in deciding whether she was guilty.

"I hope that was not what they based it on," Jeff Ashton told CNN.

Juror Jennifer Ford told ABC News that she and the other jurors cried and were "sick to our stomachs" after voting to acquit Anthony, who was accused of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

"I did not say she was innocent," said Ford, who had previously only been identified as juror number 3. "I just said there was not enough evidence. If you cannot prove what the crime was, you cannot determine what the punishment should be."

Speaking to CNN, Ashton said the jury "shouldn't have been even considering punishment during the guilt phase."

Ashton said the jury was instructed that sentencing was not part of what they should consider.

"If they did it based on the penalty then they didn't follow the law," he said.

But Ashton reiterated that he accepts the verdict. He has repeatedly said he believes the jury made the best decision it could based on the evidence presented.

Casey plead guilty to the check fraud case on Jan. 25, 2010. I believe her time served now should start at that date.  We shall see.

As long as she can't go into witness protection, then someone will give her away, eventually. Just like the jurors wanting their money (sick!) someone will want to sell her out for money...they will give her up. Too many news outlets like TMZ and National Enquirer buying stories.

I just re listened to the sentence and he said in the Orange County Jail.

Yes..she needs to spend the next month at Lowell Correctional Inst...this is just more favoritism to me.  I don't know why she gets all this protection for killing her daughter, lying to police, stealing from friends....now the book and movie deals will come rolling in for Baez to look over until she gets out and signs these deals.....just makes it look like crime pays.

I'm glad you posted that, I had seen it awhile back and when I see that same pic of Caylee in her grandfather's arms, Caylee looks uncomfortable, like she doesn't really know him and is looking at Cindy to rescue her, yet that same pic in the arms of Jesus, I feel like she's happy and content and looking at us as if to say, I'm ok here with Jesus, no one can hurt me now.

The fact is, they may as well have let her walk right out today.  It doesn't change the fact that she got away with murdering her child, stealing, and lying about all of it.

She will be on probation for those check charges so knowing her she will screw up her probation and be back in court before too long.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony was sentenced to four years in the Orange County Jail after being convicted Tuesday of four counts of lying to investigators.

Anthony was sentenced to one year in jail on each count to be served consecutively as well as a $1,000 fine per count.

It is unclear when Anthony will be released from jail. She has been in jail since October 2008 and is expected to get credit for time served and gain time.

Judge Belvin Perry said the defense has 30 days to file an appeal. A hearing has been set for the end of July.

Anthony was acquitted on first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

i dont know what to think she had to do 1460 days she probably will get around 330 days or so for good time..Plus Orange county jail can give her extra. They have the authority to release her when they want.

I actually think our patience is going to be tested. Baez isn't going to let his money-maker screw up right away. No way. He's going to become her agent, publicist, etc. So, she will not mess up right away. Nope. It's going to take some time. Eventually, however, she will tire of it. So, we shall bide our time.

Someone posted CJBP's phone number last night on the last thread and I have been trying to call him since last night but it says the mail box is full. 

4 years but she's served 900+ days already. Judge considers time served plus gain time for good behavior. The time already served plus 10 days off for each month served will allow her to enter the public by the end of the summer. I'm thinking last week of July to second week of August.

That pic just pisses me off!  Although I do not live in Florida - our second house (daughters and grandson live there) was robbed over Memorial weekend.  This guy took everything- even luggage and underwear!! - daughter walked in on it (thank God she was not hurt) and got license plate - police were just seconds from catching him still at the house.  We are still waiting for a detective to put out a warrant for his arrest.  Daughter has been staying with us because she is too scared to go home - and yet the Anthony's and KC get all this protection?????

The check charges and the lying to police charges will run together..

I was wrong about them transferring her because the judge said specifically that she would serve it in the Orange County jail. I think it will be at least August of next year because he said the sentence would NOT serve concurrent with the check sentence.

I have a feeling she will be working at the Baez Law Firm or Masons.

They just discussed that on TV and they heard it like I did the judge said they would NOT run concurrent, which means her sentence on these counts will start AFTER those were served.

Thanks. I am not understanding the math. She has been jailed since what...Oct. 2008? ALL APX.
Oct. 2008 to July 2011 =  2 yrs. and 9 months (33 months/apx. 992 days) + apx. 330 days for 10 days per month good time  gain = 1322

365 days/year = 1460 days
                      -1322 days
                      = 138 days to remain in jail  = apx 4.6 months

why are they saying she could be out in late July or August?
