Fueled by verdict anger, push for 'Caylee's Law' starts in Pa., N.J.

The national wildfire known as "Caylee's Law" has come to Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Legislators in both states are drafting proposed laws - in response to public uproar over the verdict in the Casey Anthony trial - that would oblige parents and guardians to promptly report the death or disappearance of a child.

The overnight push for new laws has some lawmakers and legal experts cautioning against "knee-jerk" legislation.

Michelle Crowder of Oklahoma, inspired by a "Caylee's Law" proposal on Facebook, created a petition for a federal version of such a law on the website Change.org. Crowder wants to make it a felony for parents or caretakers not to report a child's death within one hour or a child's disappearance within 24 hours. The petition had attracted 443,707 supporting votes as of late Thursday afternoon.

By then, versions of "Caylee's Law" were afoot in Congress and seven state capitals, including Trenton and Harrisburg.

Death penalty cases rack up millions

Trials are expensive, but death penalty cases costs the state millions.
As the emotional smoke clears, some have started to question why Casey Anthony's defense was publicly financed through the Justice Administrative Commission in Florida.

Anthony’s defense team filed a motion early in the case asking that the judge confirm her indigent status, essentially ordering the State of Florida to pay her legal defense fees and expenses.

Her legal team maintains they must provide a comprehensive and competent defense “against the open checkbook enjoyed by the prosecution in this murder case,” according to lead attorney Jose Baez in an interview.

Once it was decided by the Orange County Clerk's office that Casey Anthony was indigent then all those involved in the case have right to counsel – not just any counsel – but effective counsel.

Though the Anthony trial is over, the costs are still coming in, including protection and security for the Anthony family provided by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony will walk out of the Orange County Jail next Sunday, July 17 after being sentenced to four years in jail for lying to investigators.

Anthony was sentenced to one year in jail on each count to be served consecutively as well as a $1,000 fine per count.

Around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, court spokeswoman Karen Levey announced Anthony's estimated release date will be next Wednesday. Jail spokesman Allen Moore said after further calcuations after her sentencing, Anthony's projected release date will be July 17. Moore said the date change was a result of the calculations being double checked.

"The defendant has been given credit for 1,043 days," Levey said.

Moore said Anthony had one visitor after her sentencing Thursday. A member of her defense team, William Slabaugh, spend about an hour with Anthony, said Moore.

They should recalculate again and change the year of her release. I don't see how they ever figured out to release her in July. I am also glad to hear the talent agency dropped Bozo like a hot potato. LOL

Does anyone else think that Lee got a new lawyer to file a civil suit against Casey? That is what I am thinking. There is no other reason to even retain a lawyer at this point that I can think of.

I also had a wild thought on the speculation of some that Casey had something to do with the joggers death (Nicole Ganguzza) from June 2008. What if the secret Lee promised to keep to CMA was that and he also was involved? They did say in the article below her death was sexually motivated.

An Alabama legislator says she will introduce a bill that would make it a felony crime for a parent, legal guardian or caretaker not to notify law enforcement authorities within one hour after the death of a child.

Question... Isn't it 24 hours to report somebody missing? Good morning monkeys! Great news... Paradigm informed Baez they won't represent him! I believe it was added to last night's thread but wanted to make sure everyone knows (in case you missed it). Yayyy!

See, we can make a difference...we do matter! If forums, blogs & social media were shrugged off before - they aren't anymore...especially those that cover missing persons cases! It is bc of ALL online social media that Caylee's Law is being presented in sooo many states. Yes, I think it'll be tweaked but it's an awesome cause! Plus Paradigm saying they will not represent Baez os from Social Media putting the pressure on them and their clients! Even though it's something small right now compared to the bigger things going on, it sure is a good feeling to make a difference!

MANATEE -- State Rep. Bill Hager, R-Boca Raton, is sponsoring a bill dubbed Caylee’s Law in reaction to the Casey Anthony trial.
If passed in the next legislative session, the law would make it a felony not to report a missing child to law enforcement.
“The purpose of my bill is two fold,” Hager said. “First to provide another arrow in the prosecutor’s quiver, in terms of prosecuting such matters in the future and number two, to remind all parents and guardians they need to immediately report a missing child.”
Hager said the month-long time lapse time for Anthony to report her daughter missing was the “dark cloud” that hovered over the case and one of the factors that inspired the proposed bill.

John Morgan might have the rights for the first " interview " with Casey. He was on one of the shows last night. July 19 is the date. I don't know how she could get out of it.
Lee, who knows why he has a different lawyer. I don't know if he can sue anyone for anything. And I don't know if he is being sued by anyone.

People do have power and can exercise their rights to not support anything that promotes anyone involved with the charade of a trial and the DT. Can also express opnions.

I did see Mason on one of the shows, it was a clip where he was asked if Casey could live with him and he said for a few days. He was evasive. He has seen the compentency evaluation was what I was thinking. He was calculating how long he and his wife could stay awake in shifts. Casey is a high maintenance person and no one is going to get paid by the justice system to "protect " her. Think they are all BFF's now ? She might feel that way, but in reality, she was a client and they got paid.
I am not an advocate of viloence or any retaliation, but I have control over myself and can make a choice on what / who to watch or listen to. I can also comment and send emails to any company and or their advertisers who thinks that they can promote these persons and their bankrupt souls.
That seemed to work with Jose's agent. he will find another one, but he will always be the lawyer who defended a baby killer and used such a vile and dishonest defense. He didn't get her off because she was innocent, he doesn't have any legal skills. The number of persons that were harmed by their investigations and attempts to make them the suspects was immoral.

The way to (survive) is to try and stay out of the limelight, but that in itself is a sentence,” said attorney Elaine Whitfield Sharp, who — in the Anthony case of its day — defended teen British au pair Louise Woodward against charges she murdered 8-month-old Matthew Eappen of Newton in 1997.

This is a column about the acquittal of Casey Anthony, who was accused of killing her two-year-old daughter. If you do not know who Casey Anthony is, that speaks incredibly well of you.

For those who watch television, however, there has been no escape from Casey Anthony. She has been everywhere. You have heard of Big Brother? She is his Little Sister, only she doesn't watch us, we watch her, every waking moment for weeks.

Only hermits or monks have been safe from exposure to Casey Anthony, and some of them undoubtedly will break their solitude to ask visitors how the trial in Orlando went.

Such is the culture-permeating presence of Casey Anthony, who innocent or guilty, has shown herself to be a poor excuse for a human being but a great excuse to boost ratings.

I'm curious, if the remains had been found in August, did any of your experts say that they would have been any more powerful or more potent position to give you an opinion as to the cause of death?
ASHTON: Most of the experts have told us that in all likelihood -- pardon me -- by the beginning of July, the body was completely skeletonized. So there might have been some difference in the evidence, but essentially, her body was in the form that we saw it in December all the way back in, like, late July, August. VAN SUSTEREN: What about just in terms of, you know, the placement of the duct tape? I mean, was that in any way moved by the elements, by the water retreating, by the sun, by even animals, anything like that? Because it seemed to me that that cause of death was so critical to your case.
ASHTON: It's possible. I mean, we don't really know. There was a huge tropical storm that came in late August, Tropical Storm Fay, which from all accounts completely flooded the entire area. So it might have been in better circumstance then, though even in -- on August the 11th, Roy Kronk's original statement was that the area was under water somewhat. But certainly, two weeks after that, it was completely flooded. So you never know.
VAN SUSTEREN: Casey Anthony didn't testify. And I guess it's not a huge surprise. But were you ready for her testimony? Did you expect that she might?
ASHTON: We did. I think after the opening statement, we expected her to. As the trial wore on, we became more and more convinced that she wouldn't. But Linda Burdick, who was lead counsel, was prepared to cross- examine her and so very effectively. Of course, she just never got the chance.

Mornin' y'all!  Is it me or do you not see the usual hubbub/buzz in the media and entertainment industry wanting to jump all over slore and her camp?  Could her acquittal be the worst sentence she could ever get?  Real people across America despise this woman and her attys and I have the feeling life on the outside is going to be 20x's more difficult than in her protected little cell!  Bozo winning this case made him think he would be the media darling but guess what?  He makes people want to hurl!!  All these two can see right now is $$$$$ signs and fame and I don't think "We the people" will allow this to happen.  I can imagine one neighborhood on this earth that would welcome Casey!

Don't get me wrong cause I wished the DP on her but I can forsee some child loving activist coming after slore.  Can't say I wouldn't buy them a plane ride to wherever she lays her head!!!!

Ya reckon ol Cheney and his wife's social calendar might dry up soon?  What decent folks in their right mind would still want them in their social circle? It's a cruel world when nobody likes you!

This saddens me that KC won't get what is coming to her.  While Susan Smith is in prison, she is living a good life there, prison inmates like her.  Then there is this Louise Woodward who was supposedly hated like KC, and she is doing well now.  She served 279 days for killing a baby, do not know the entire case so cannot say if accident or on purpose or what, but 279 days.   

She is going to have all this protection when she gets out.  She won't have to work.  She will do 1 interview to make enough money to pay everything she owes, and then go on and have more babies, more boyfriends.  This aggravates me to no end.  Her family is probably waiting for her to get out of jail and she will just move back home where there are no video visitations and we will NEVER KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO CAYLEE.

Feeling majorly duped today.  Why would George show up in court after what she said about him?  Was he acting all pissy on the stand for show?  Was the jury duped into this dysfunctional family theory and they bought it hook, line, and sinker.  Were all the faces Beotch made when her father testified for show? When Cindy hugged George after she testified and wench cried she won't help me now, there's no way, was that for show?  Why were Cindy and George meeting with the dumbfense in the last week of the trial?  What happened? 

I am so confused.  I want to go knock on their damn door, LOL.

I am not sure if I buy all this Casey will be attacked stuff. Although we live in a different time than when OJ walked from obvious murder charges and there is much furor in FL and across the country over Casey skating on murder ... If nothing happened to OJ, would anything really happen to Casey?

We do not promote violence, but I do believe that this is not the last that we will hear of Casey Anthony. Like OJ, like Joran van der Sloot ... these sick sociopaths just cannot help themselves.

She will fall one day again in a major way. Its only a matter of time and it will be of her own doing.

I keep thinking they cannot protect her forever, but then I think well OJ is still alive, Susan Smith is still alive, but then maybe something will happen to not kill her but she will be stupid and go back to jail or something.  I am just not that patient.  I bet you any money, she will be videod going to her house (Cindy and George's) soon after getting out. 

I think I would feel better if just 1 family member shunned her for what she did to Caylee and said I do not want anything more to do with you on national TV or something.

Preface with I would not ever wish anything like this on anybody (cept maybe Osama Bin Laden who is now dead) but she has me filled with such rage, that I do not know if I saw her, if I would not be the one to do it.  Thank goodness I do not live in Florida and thank goodness I am usually pretty level headed and do not impulsively do things, cause I am skerred of what I might do if given the chance.  So far, I have not thought once of driving to Florida, so that is a good thing.

So, saying that, I so hope somebody is plotting something special for Ms. Amfony.

Yup back to normal.  Caylee is still dead and the murderer gets to go free, so the employee is smiling.

I just have to say this.......

I really had a hard time seeing KC in court, expecting to be released. I can't stand her demeanor. You can just look at her and tell that she thinks she is God's gift to the world. Why not? Her Mother was drooling all over herself at the sight of her and the jury came back with nothing but a smile for the defense. Getting away with murder has done nothing but bolster all that is wrong with her.

This family is as screwed up as any I've ever run into.

I hope that Ashton gets a job on television in his retirement. There were many folks involved in OJ's case that went on to do that, and he'd be good at it.

I feel sorry for several people that Casey tore apart, but most especially Jesse Grund and his family. The Anthony's, including Casey, ran them into the ground and all they ever did was treat Caylee like she was part of their family. They welcomed her with open arms. They tried to help Casey, too, afterall Jesse was in love with her. The Grunds are a beautiful, religious, loving family that strives to be a positive influence to whomever they come in contact with. How dare those Anthonys run the Grunds through the mud. How dare they!

I know.  I would love to know that the jury thinks now that they have had a chance to see her act normal and not all sad and demure like her act in court.  None of the reporters are asking this question now. None of them are asking what they thought of KC.  Drives me nuts.

Bethany Marshall chimed in about the 'family dysfunction' people keep talking about. She said the rest of the family would have been as 'normal' as the rest of us without Casey, then said CA/GA knew that she was a PARASITE and had a criminal mind, a criminal brain, and did nothing.   They are just as responsible for leaving Caylee with her.     

That was funny.  This morning was thinking how nice it would be if say a terrorist flew a plane into the prison, but then I remembered there are innocent people in the prison who do not deserve to die because of a wench.

Hey, Monkeys!  I've been busy dealing with my mom's declining health at the nursing home...but I did watch Mark Lippmann last night on Dr. Drew.  I think it's fascinating that they have him on as a guest and he said...precisely, NOTHING!  Lee has a new attorney?  Can't confirm.  George and Cindy are splitting up?  Can't say anything.  What a waste, a huge waste.  Basically, he was on to say, I have nothing to say.  What was the point?  If I were cynical, I'd think he was just trying to keep them in the spotlight to capitalize on their infamy, so when Cindy's purported book comes out, Somebody will buy it.    But of course, I'm not cynical at all.  Just a realist.

I remember readign that slore's drirver's license was expired and no good any more or something like that, not sure about her nursing license.  Why don't they work now again? Oh, they make money off their dead grandbaby.  I forgot.

Court seeks to protect Casey Anthony, jurors

Concern over the safety of Casey Anthony and the jurors who found her not guilty in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony, has the Florida court where the case was heard on alert.

It released a statement Thursday night saying that, for security reasons, "appropriate measures will be taken" when Anthony is released.
She will be let go at a secret location, reports CBS News correspondent Karen Brown.

There's also concern for the 12 jurors who voted to acquit Anthony. Judge Belvin Perry hasn't released the jurors' names, and may decide not to, out of fear for their safety-- a highly unusual step, Brown reported on "The Early Show."

It depends on what she calls physical assault, after all she's a defense attorney, right? And how come none of the other more popular attorneys were not assaulted,they all deserved to be IMO(would make me feel better) i think she's full of it!! what are they inferring here with the "this sequestered jury" ????? (I'm having a slow thinking day)

AND here's the problem with the jury..they had a copy of that suicide letter..clearly George stated that he knew there were problems with Casey and had an inkling of this happening a year before..he wrote that.  A suicide note admits your faults..if George had anything to do with Caylee's demise he would have admitted it in that note..he admitted all his other faults.

This jury did not use the brain God gave them to make the correct decision.

That they should not have been talking to each other about this case.  Or whispering to each other while listening to testimony as some reporters have reported. 

I still think in the back of their minds they were thinking a "controversial" decision would have a much bigger pay day for interviews than the guilty verdict everyone wanted!  Judge Alex was talking to Vinny the other night and said he was afraid if the names are released for these idiots it may have negative results on future jurors.  You'd only get jurors who were looking for 15 mins. of fame & could ultimately decide that stirring the pot with an unpopular/obvious verdict were pay more in the end.

I think we should do like Italy.. instead of jurors we use a panel of judges to determine guilt or innocent, I think Italy has it right on that part

My 19 yr old son stated last night that it should be a job. A job that requires at least a 2 yr degree . A degree where you have to learn how to take evidence and dissect it and figure things out. I think he has a good idea.They are always talking about a shortage of jobs and careers. Maybe this would be a good one. I understand that our constitution and the way things are set up are to protect the innocent. However, I feel that science and technology and just plain old good common sense have made it to where the jury selection thing just does not work anymore.jmo

There are, you know, accidental scenarios that would be first- degree murder. There are accidental scenarios that would be aggravated manslaughter. But we felt there was sufficient evidence to show that this was a criminal homicide. We felt first-degree murder.

But certainly, we felt there was enough to show that it was criminal in nature. In fact, that was the testimony of the medical examiner, that this was a homicide. It was not an accident. But the jury, you know, is aware of the evidence. They're the ones that get to decide. And if they don't see in the evidence what we do, then we have to respect that. As you said.

MORGAN: I mean, do you feel comfortable that someone who is a -- clearly a pathological liar, who was an appallingly negligent mother, if nothing else, clearly not, in my view, in any fit mental state, do you feel comfortable that somebody like that will be walking the streets of America in a few days' time?

ASHTON: Well, you know, we did what we could to prevent that, but the jury spoke and I believe the judge gave her the maximum sentence that he could. I just hope that people react in this -- to this release by ignoring her. The best thing they could do to express their disgust to Casey Anthony is to ignore her.

Don't go to the jail when she's released, turn your back on her, just ignore her, pretend that she doesn't exist, because that's the way you can respond to her the best.

ROBIN SAX, ATTORNEY: I do think there was a potential for overcharging. I think, like Judge Seidlin just said, your previous guest, even us legal pundits weren't quite sure if this was a first- degree or was this an accident? That was the hard part of this case that resonated through.

But I think the key problem here is that this is the case for professional juries, if I've ever seen it. That same sick feeling that they don't get the law. Circumstantial evidence is as good of evidence as any.

Short of having a video camera, we have to put things together based on stringing evidence, connecting dots. And that juror number three that you had on earlier today also made the comment she didn't think that she would have to go through the work -- or the jury didn't feel like they should have to go through the work of connecting the dots.

That's exactly what they're supposed to do. If they don't know what they're supposed to do, then there is a problem with our jurors.

MORGAN: Yeah, I mean, what I found baffling was that they seem to be reacting very emotionally, these jurors, as if to say, hey, don't blame us, this was a terrible ordeal. And yet after the whole trial, they just spend 11 or 12 hours deliberating. They don't ask a single follow-up question about anything on a case of a lot of complexity, a lot of unanswered questions.

Not one question do they come back with in their deliberations? I found that extraordinary.

It would be very hard to find people of every day life to get them to take a 2 yr schooling to do this, that's why I said a panel of judges. They already know the law, and most knows you dont have to connect the dots you only need a reasonable doubt. Oh he77 we just need people with common sense. put me in segergation I would be on vacation, seriously give me a book a night and leave me alone with a nice pot of tea and my PJs I would be in heaven.

I dont really think it would be that hard. Many of the young kids my son knows are going in to the criminal justice field and many more are looking for career paths to follow. Many of the fields they are considering are saturated. Would give many an option to having no future career aspects..I also agree with judges, but fear the politics involved..

Unfortunately many young people are dismissed from jury duty for just that reason -- too young. I was called for jury duty in NY for a murder trial, but I was dismissed along with every other potential juror who was under 25. Mostly much older people remained. I'm not saying I have as much "life experience" but surely I would be able to follow the same instructions as everyone else.

One of the first jurors in the Casey Anthony trial to hire a PR firm and negotiate interviews has decided not to speak to the press after all.

The man, known only as a husband and father of two with a degree in economics, hired Rick French of French, West and Vaughn public relations.

Rick French's office confirmed to RumorFix this morning that for the time being, the juror will not be giving interviews.

It is not known whether the juror changed his mind as result of harsh public reaction to news jurors are trying to cash in on the controversial trial, or for other reasons.

Absolutely, better yet, like in Iraq, just off with their heads, unless the guilty is one of my family members or one of the monkey's family members. 

I would have had a much easier time hearing a judge acquit her than these nimwits though.

I can only imagine how po'd Cindy and KC will be.  This song will make millions and I hope and pray they can't touch one penny.  It would be nice if the proceeds could be used in a positive way to help the missing and murdered.  A national dna database would be great.  Or a fund to help pay for dna testing of remains in states where there is such a budget crunch that testing gets low priority.

Casey Anthony fulfilled her probation while she was in prison - per In Session today.  She is a totally free woman, sadly.

KC will be free as a bird when she gets out, no probation, nada.  Cept having to appear for her depo on the 19th I think it is.

No offense taken, we are all afforded our own opinions. I myself have a fear of the "good old boy" network and politics with judges. I have seen how effective a panel of judges were in the Natalee Holloway case...didn't work so well. I just happen to feel that if you have a jury of people who are educated specifically to be jurors you might at least be able to get a fair and reasonable verdict. Also people who are educated in subjects tend to love to pick things apart and kick ideas around so at least they might take the time to look at the evidence.

Not sure how I feel about this guy's opinion.  But, I do know that I've seen relationships between attys and judges that seemed a bit too cozy considering the work they have to do.

I hate it, but they are just going to let him get away with this too.  They are all slime bags.  You think they could muster some sympathy for little caylee, just for 1 freaking minute.  I hate every last one of them. 

I say she is still FOS.  Can not get that seminar she did out of my mind where she said that her tactic is to garner sympathy any way she can.  I think this claim fits into that an nothing more  I write HLN and FOX everytime she is on complaining.  I would think I am not the only one.  IMO she is mad she is not as "HOT" as Jeff as the media is getting backlash.  Pretty sure her book crashed faster than an anchor in the middle of the sea and now she is trying to re-coop some money by being a talking head and it is harder than she thought.  Just like she said in her seminar, I wonder if she chalks it up to seniors with blue hair and woman with strap ons.

Regarding Caylee's Law...we've seen too many cases lately where a child's body has been discovered and LE has to search for who this child is.  This law has been needed for quite some time.  Also, I believe the state of FL has had a history of issues with Child Services losing children.  I hope this law applies to them as well.

I remember that! I looked for part of the clip secretly released but I couldn't find it. I saved it on our old computer before it crashed. I think I remember Baez attended a seminar. There was an online talking head that released a portion of it but I forget who he was. He was threatened with a suit bc the Defense Attorneys attending that seminar had to sign a confidentiality agreement before attending, and they could only attend in the first place if they were approved. Do you remember? It was leaked that she said to lie & blame others bc ultimately you as a Defense Attorney in a dp case are trying to save a life. They believe that no matter how heinous the crime, the dp is never warranted bc it's also considered murder. It painted Andrea Lyon in a bad light to alot of pundits but she's a hero to others.

I say if the crime was truly heinous & sordid, then an eye for an eye...but it would have to be proven. In this case against Casey, the jury was presented with sooo much evidence...yet they chose to ignore it.

A Sudbury forensic scientist called by the defence in the Casey Anthony murder trial in Florida has emailed her lead lawyer, Jose Baez, congratulating him for doing what he set out to do.

I am getting very angry again, so gonna go watch some reality TV, some shows I missed and try to forget all about this entire case for a little while.  I hope we find out she did get out today so I don't have to stew over it for teh next week.

I feel so helpless, like there is nothing I can do for Caylee.  All these emails and petitions and what not are great, but they do not solve the immediate problem.  There has to be something the State of FL or the FBI (who was involved in this case) can do here.  Maybe they just don't care.  I am so frustrated.  Even if it does not work, do something to annoy her, keep her tied up in court forever.  Something.  I would even say make something up, LOL.  Maybe a exfriend who hates her could make something up and buy some time.  There has to be some way to keep her butt behind bars.

I heard Lippman on one of the show's saying prior to this he thuoght they would just wait until she got out to speak with her because it was Baez who put in place the stipulation with the family of no visits and he felt Baez was still controlling the strings until she got out.

I guess either Baez isn't controlling the strings anylonger and Casey doesn't want to see her family or Baez is controlling the strings and Cindy just didn't take her attorneys advice.

I know there are rules set in place that protects jurors rights, but...

What it...

Ok, what if it can be proven there was jury misconduct and/or tampering? We've found out that a mistrial couldn't be declared based on jury indescretions bc Casey was found Not Guilty. It could be declared a mistrial if she were found Guilty.

However...

What about if there's another death or serious crime and Casey could be linked to it unequivocally? What about if she's found guilty if something else should happen in the future?

Just say, for instance, she kills somebody and it's proven that she's guilty. Could these jurors be held responsible for allowing her acquittal? For not taking all of the evidence into consideration? for conversing amongst themselves? For whatever... If somebody else dies, can they be held jointly responsible for not taking their jobs seriously? If somebody else dies, it's their fault for putting her back on the street.

I'm having a hard time seeing how they came to a NG verdict.

A prosecutor in the Casey Anthony trial responded Thursday to a remark by one of the jurors who acquitted Anthony, saying the jury should not have considered possible penalties in deciding whether she was guilty.

"I hope that was not what they based it on," Jeff Ashton told CNN.

"I did not say she was innocent," said Ford, who had previously only been identified as juror number 3. "I just said there was not enough evidence. If you cannot prove what the crime was, you cannot determine what the punishment should be."

Speaking to CNN, Ashton said the jury "shouldn't have been even considering punishment during the guilt phase."

Ashton said the jury was instructed that sentencing was not part of what they should consider.

"If they did it based on the penalty then they didn't follow the law," he said.

She was never called to testify in court.

It was on the front of AOL(Huffington merged with)this am and it wasn't a closed poll so I voted.

BS on this.  Why would they need a PR firm if they studied all the evidence , actually deliberated and not just took a vote, asked questions, if they had doubts asked to look at evidence and transcripts, did not as a group decide ANYTHING before the testimony was over?

If Cindy visits her in OCSD it is recorded. Better to wait until she gets out and then they can converse or not converse all they want. I think they will have to have some contact, think of the ownership of the tubs and tubs of photos ! They were in Cindy's house.

I don't know if this will clear it up for you, but on one of the many shows I watched (can't remember which one) it was stated that Casey's probation ended in January; so no she will not be on probation.

So, there is no probation for the lying to police charges?  Just the 4 years and 4000 fine.
