A good day today, I think & hope, in the fight for Natalee.  

I think the best sign that this isn't just to wrap it up and close the case is the fact that they're showing up for this stuff at 7am on Saturday mornings so the corrupt officials aren't on duty to interfere.  That, to me, exemplifies a serious effort to get to the bottom of things.  I believe Jossy that they are investigating not only Natalee's disappearance  but the cover up as well.

Anybody checking the dark sides ranting?  I can't bring myself to look.  Just curious what the slant is tonight.  Guess, I shouldn't care, huh?

Why should Depaks involve another company when their father owned a car company... wouldn't these cars come in via contains on a ship and ones not wanted go out in a container on a ship?

Wasn't Joran angry a Depaks for getting an alibi for them from Steve Croes (??) for he didn't want any more involved in the case? I thought that was a very unusual comment from Joran.

Deepak knew they would come to take his car--impound it and keep it.  He tried to get Automotive Enterprises' Osman Osman to store his car in his garage to safeguard it from being impounded.  I think he most likely rented or borrowed another Honda Civic and switched the plates.  This can easily be verified if they checked the VIN's.  I have no doubt the ALE didn't think to do this--they just took Deepak's word for it--yeah, that's my car--and put it on the flatbed.  

I told you before there was BLOOD in Deepak's car, and the chocolate and cleaning fluid samples came from another car or, at the very least, another car seat.

Dana- Invite him on and see what he says... I'm sure he'll decline, but you'll have it on the record he won't face you!

The interresting thing about that car is that everyone says it's not a Honda Civic.  My question is then who's car is it?  Was this car tested?  I have also been told by someone who claims to know Deepak that his Honda did not have tinted windows.

Even though we know he is a runt this looks like a much bigger car in comparison.  Also there is a lot of room above the windscreen to fit the TV.   I drive a Camry (medium size car but bigger than Civic) and if I had TV above windscreen it would be mounted on the ceiling and would be horizontal, not upright as in this picture.

If you consider the implied size of the screen, I don't know of any vehicle that has that 'tall' of headroom.

I would expect an 8 inch screen? or maybe even bigger.

I like gun-slingers theory.. but I just noticed the street lights, I think that's what they are... look green in the front window and white in the driver's side window. Could the green just be that strip they put in cars along the top of the windshield for a few inches across it to block the sun?

I had a 300ZX once and it was amber, but I have had a rented car with green. I have to go back and see if there are street lights in the picture in the back seat window.

This could also explain how Dave thought that Joran was picked up near Lorenzo's house. It could also explain how Satish did not go to school the next day.

It doesn't explain how Joran is triangulated to the North of the Marriott. If it was in fact him on the cell phone.

With Paulus now being awake as confirmed by his computer records, it adds another person to the mix with the ability to have picked Joran or someone else up that morning.

With Paulus being denied compensation over the wiretapped calls where he seemingly admits picking Joran and Natalee up at 4 am, it leaves a large window open from 4 am til the call in Santa Cruz is registered at 6:30 am.

Now, they could have met up with someone else (and a car) or left for a time in the slootmobile.
The neighbor would probably know if they were washing a different car so early in the morning.

No doubt the post 6/12 pow-wow with Freddy/Paulus/Anita/Carlo was critical to the Sloot obstruction. And likely the event that convinced Carlo that *Joran was involved*.

KLPD has a lot to work with here. They can start by looking into why a known criminal meeting between a suspects family, lawyer and witness became a roadblock in the case instead of an asset to the investigation.

One thing that really bothers me about this "Dutch Investigation" is that they have no tip line set up or anything.  They do not advertise some way to contact them directly if you have information important to the case.

I agree with most everything you said.  The exception might be that Freddy, very well might be trying to get Joran off the hook from being alone with Natalee.  With all the lawyers involved, I'm sure it was pointed out that the worst thing is to be alone with someone missing.  Freddy practically lived at the Sloots.  I think he was trying to cover for Joran and keep him out of trouble, by mentioning the three of them at the beach..

I think the Deepakmobile was pimped a certain way that the MBers ID it.
I lean a little more toward replacing parts.
Now, they could have met up with someone else (and a car) or left for a time in the slootmobile.
The neighbor would probably know if they were washing a different car so early in the morning.

We know there is another DVD screen on the dash console.  Is the screen that "looks" like it's above Deepak's head actually more towards the center ceiling of the car for viewing by the back seat passengers?  Is that why it looks as large as it does?

Focusing on the bottom picture:
Deepak can barely see over the steering wheel. Even though we know he is a runt this looks like a much bigger car in comparison.  Also there is a lot of room above the windscreen to fit the TV.   I drive a Camry (medium size car but bigger than Civic) and if I had TV above windscreen it would be mounted on the ceiling and would be horizontal, not upright as in this picture.

I think the ceiling looks high because of the angle of the camera. Remember it's a digital camera and it would be tough to get all of that in a photo so she had to have been holding it low and pointing up.
I have one of those tv screens in my van, it is mounted to the ceiling. Again the angle of the camera makes it appear it is closer to the front of the car than it actually is imo.
My question is where is the girl's girlfriend? I can't remember her name, the tourist who took the pics, but in all of the other pics they were together including in cnc that night...so where did she go? Certainly no more room in the car. Would she have taken a taxi back to her hotel by herself? most unlikely, I think she was pretty drunk, so was there another carful of friends behind them she was riding with?

I remember all our previous discussions on this car.  We even had a dealer give an opinion.  The tac was replaced with white...etc,  The screen is where you would find the visor.  It was a long road, but the conclusion was, I believe, the civic.

Why would you assume Joran took the picture?  The photo is on Bailey's webshot site not Joran's.  It was taken with Bailey's camera.  She could have been standing or stooping down outside the vehicle though, I really don't know.

I just didn't see her in the car. And usually when girls are taking pics, they look at the camera...so why didn't she pose for the shot of the front seat. it appears to me they are driving...slowly but not parked so it didn't seem reasonable she was outside..looks like inside photo angles too,

Either way.  I would not think they would use something for transport that they would have to return.  

Of course, if plastic garbage bags were used in the commission of a crime, the culprits better hope the aforementioned bags are never recovered.  More than one person occupying a cell has been convicted on evidence related to their use of garbage bags in the commission of their particular crime.  If you can find one bag, you can match it to the rest of the box and connect it to the person who eventually used the bag.

In Bailey's photo album she comments, Page 1, Photo #2 caption, that she is there to model as a bride.   :roll: Sort of young, IMO, but remember a certain Sea Hag has a publication called something like Island Treasures which does a lot of features on brides, Aruba being pimped as a wedding destination.

I would hate to think Bailey was there to model for that magazine or that person, JR.

I also find it very suspicious that Joran creates a PV for Freddy and then puts it in his book.  Why does Joran need for Freddy to say what this PV says?  He doesn't create or "translate" PV's for any of the other witnesses in the case.  So why does Joran put words in Freddy's mouth?  Words that Freddy most likely did not say--or at least not all of the words.

Joran seems to be retelling his own lies and supporting his beach story.  The last two sentences are weird.  I recognize that he is jumping from Joran's story of what happened the night Natalee disappeared to what happened several nights later on June 3.  However, the ellipses indicates something left out.  Was this the night they returned Freddy's camera to him?  I can't remember the date, but according to one of the PV's, the 2K's went to Freddy's house to return the camera.  They mention then that they got pizza to eat.  Is this where this is going and why it is mentioned at the end?

the only thing I can contribute to the Honda Civic discussion is...I sat in the back seat of a Honda Civic for two weeks recently....can't see four people...even little, skinny ones...fitting in the back seat...and if the driver had a drop down screen mounted in front of his head, his vision would have been totally obscured...however, the driver was 6'1" and had size 12 shoes.... :wink:

I don't know enough about cars to know if it was a civic or a van.  What I do know is that Deepak, Joran, Freddy, Loco Stef, Bailey and Alyse were in that vehicle on Bailey and Alyse's last night in Aruba.  I also know that back in August 2005 I sent all the information we had on the photos and all to the family.  I also know that on August 29, 2005 both Bailey and Alyse were interviewed by the FBI.

There are so many people all interconnected in this, and we just haven't completely figured out the connections yet. It's a small island where so many people know/are related to each other. It's like any small place where the authorities are involved in the corruption. If judges, police, etc., are part of the problem, then there can't be any cure without outside intervention.

I think Natalee's case is part of a much bigger picture, and I hope the Dutch take them ALL down, not just the VDS and Kalpoe families.

There are so many things that we don't know about this case.  Take last night for instance.  We found out that the Kalpoes were seen cleaning their car which we already knew but what we didn't know is that there was a third person with them.  Deepak wanted to put his car in storage we all heard this but what we didn't hear was for a long period of time.  So every so often a little piece is thrown in there.  I think what we know is only half of the information.  I also think once we do hear the whole story and who is actually involved we will be shocked.  Jug always said the world would be shocked and I think he is right.
