I'm pretty much on the same page! I think the cover-up goes all the way to Oduber -- I'm just not sure if he actually is PHYSICALLY involved as an "elder." Oduber knows EVERYTHING.

I can go with this theory klaas even though my theory is that it happened at the VDS home.

When you get back from your nap what is your theory with Freddy's involvement?

aruba's childrena are brought up in this promiscous lifestyle....of sex, drugs, perversion.....they learn it at an early age.....what really gets me is where are the WOMEN? Look at these young girls...14, 15, 16...out drinking, going to clubs, posing for pornagraphy, and lordy mercy who knows what else..so mohter's of males,  like Anita...take it as 'that's the way it is'.....boys will be boys etc.....but is also the tqisted mentality of mother's of young girls think as well? They don't even try to change this demeaning way of thinking... it's OK for their young females to be used by the male society?? it seems so....and it's is really terribly sad when you look at it....the young women of aruba never have a chance to be anything other that sex object to be used and abused by the male society.....cause that's the way it is :cry:

Hello you all. It is ghastly hot here, like an oven outside. We might have rolling blackouts. Twice in the past few days we have lost power. I think those brownouts have already begun, here at least.

Speaking of the permissive Sloots, don't they know that highschool kids having co-ed sleepovers is the wrong thing to do? Are they all permissive in Aruba? No way would my girls sleep over at a guy friends house who had his seperate sleeping quarters! Hard to comprehend, and Paulus said a group of them sleeping over (guys as well as girls) was not unusual at all.

Pretty well thanks...like everyone else just waiting for information/news...anything....and I think if it's this difficult for us how must it be for Dave, Robin, Beth and Jug.... :(

I was in Reno for the weekend so it was HOT but lots of fun.  Spent a good amount of time by the pool under the misters having Rum and Diet Cokes!  I managed to not loose too much money either so that is always a good thing!

Yesterday we went to a lake north of Truckee and it was perfect up there and the water felt great!

I hope your weekend was nice even with the heat!

I could go for a power nap.  My coworkers is out on our deck at work taking a nap on her lunch and I am jealous!  We are lucky it is only in the 80's here with blue skies and a nice little ocean breeze!

Hubbylove - we have ocean breezes but it's still about 94 and humid here.  I hate it!  Normally we don't go much above 75.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that a civil case is warranted against those parents. They have a kid with problems, who goes out gambling and drinking, even with his father. Knowing he has problems, they allow him to live in his own quarters, have friends sleep over...he sneaks out, well duh! They are totally liable for any wrong he does.

I am feeling for all of you guys in So Cal these days.
The humidity is so wierd,  I am glad we aren't getting it here.  80's is warm for here but nothing compared to the 109 in Dixon yesterday when we drove through.  It felt like a sauna outside!!

I just don't get the bride freaking out thing even though more of my friends have been that way than chill about the whole thing.  My hubby and I took a no stress vow when we started the planning process and we stuck to it, even when the florist called at 7:30 am the day of my 1:00 wedding to ask what kind of flowers I wanted in my table arrangements!?!?!  The flowers were late but I didn't let it bother me.  It was the happiest day of my life and I hope the same for your daughter!

What is so sad about this, they call it progressive and yet it is what we call 13th century mentality because we know that progressive does not mean permissive.  It means women have arrived at the place they do not have to be seduced and used by men.  Women have rights, but apparently not in Aruba, not even Scoop.  She allows herself to be used for the monetary well-being of the island.  Women being used for monetary means is not my idea of progress.  Dutch women and their subordinates buy into this.

I agree with all this but still insist that there has to exost some proof of elder involvement, participation in what would possibly be even criminal for them to continue to protect the suspects.

Punkubus word only against Elders = Elders win.
Punkubus (new word for sexually insatiable punks) with proof word against Elders = Punks win.

If it was word of mouth only, the Elders would just say they are lying.  There exists or did exist documentation of their wrong--doing to which these suspects have had access or still do.  If all was destroyed, they would be in jail right now.  Sure the Elders would WANT it destoryed and I suspect it may have been taken surrepticiously but without it, the suspects go to jail.  The suspects or their trashy friends are either holding this blackmailable offense information or the Elders fear that they have it.

And if you had photos or vid incriminating some of the Elders, say Joran's own father, and got orders to destory all, would you?  I would if it were my own father! (Deepak) but if it were Joran's own father or Michael's own father or Geoffrey's own father, I think I would not and just say I did.
One of the punks somewhere is still holding something at the least.  Or there is the fear of that and something I would venture to guess is criminal because of the age of those involved.  

Did someone give something to Beth?  Is this what she has that will shock the world?  It sure would, wouldn't it?  

Just my .02 and my opinion and has been since we all ruined our vision trying to find those darned photos over a year ago.

Absolutely not a tube top, nothing on top.  I've seen an uncropped photo - this was last November and I believe I have it saved.  In the photo I saw you could not unequivocally say she was fully naked.

A cropped version showed up on SM much later.

of people very knowlegable about computers post so I would assume they would know if it contained anything harmful.

Great info from Shizaru re similarities in Joran's 6/24 Jane Doe story and Natalee story. It's seems very possible that Joran's interactions with a coherent Natalee were so minimal that the whole of his story is a patchwork of previous events/previous lies. I betcha a look at the statements of Jane Doe and the other accusers would be a real eye-opener...if they still exist.

Three questions:

1) Where did the pic of Steff at the Mills come from?

2) Where did the pic of Steff posing with Joran come from, and when was it taken?

3) On which assumption is the theory that the March 10 Steff pic was taken on Bails/Alyse's last nite based

a) the March 10 date is not accurate

b) Bails/Alyse's last night was March 10

While the forum is slow .. I'd like to take the time to remind people to send prayers to NONE and her hubby.  They REALLY need them right now.

IeSpell is a great program and absolutely safe! (I just wish I would actually remember to use it before I embarrass myself!) It works well with IE of course and "Maxthon" browser -- not sure about Firefox.

1)  Shizaru, I found the Stef photos when looking through hundreds and hundreds of webshot albums online last fall.  

2)  I'm not sure the origin of the photo wiht Steff posing with Joran - I wish I knew where that photo was take.

3)  Personally, I'm not convinced it was the same night as Bailey/Alyse's last night.  By the activities, etc. it could have been, but to me her hair looks different that night.

1.  I can't tell you where I got it as I promised I wouldn't
2.  I believe that photo originally came from one of Joran's myspace or tickle site.  I may have gotten it from the JoranBlog site.  I do not know the exact date but based on Joran appearance, I'd say some time in 2004.
3.  We don't know the exact date.  All we know for sure is that it was uploaded to Webshots on March 26, 2005.   He's wearing the same shirt as in the March spring break photo but we know that doesn't mean much.

Note:  All this information was sent to the family late last year.

Klaasend - the photos from that Bails/Alyse night also prove that Joran was not the sweet, innocent, never-drinks kid that his mother thought.

Shizaru - there is no proof that the photo of Stef at the Mills Resort was the same night.  We are assuming it for a couple reasons.

1.  Bailey Anne was staying at the Wyndham which was right accross the street.

2.  There was a girl that posted a message on the front page.  She said she was with them in March 2005 and they said they were staying at The Mill Resort.

But...it is all speculation

I have noticed that as passionate as we all are about Natalee, who in my opinion has brought missing people's cases forward that we sometimes don't seem too engerigized about other cases... why is that?

Because it's hard to focus on other cases with as much energy when this case is so horrible for the family.  It's so obviously a coverup.  

Plus, there is far less information to go on with many of the other cases.  Take Destiny for instance.  All we really know is that she went missing from her yard.  Unlike the NH case we do not know who took her.  Work on many of the other missing persons cases takes more digging because of this.  It's hard to be that committed on more than one case at a time.

In a perfect world we would have teams set up, one for each missing person.

  Wish I had an answer.. I have read about other cases as well.. and since the first time I saw Natalees case on my local news... I was interetsed... I have a step daughter the same age.. and my daughter who is older. I can identify. That same day.. I did a search  on Natalees name.. first hit I got was RWV.. (eeek).. I read there.. and saw the link for SM and lurked for a few weeks unitl I had the courage to join.
  I had NO idea DANA was having a show tonight... sorry.

I have always followed these cases intently.  Natalee's was the first that I have followed ONLINE.  This has gone on forever!

Aruba has just plain worn my axx out!  I read about other cases and watch on news... just can't get as involved... my heart can't take it.

For me it is that I quite honestly never saw a government cover-up a murder like the way they are doing.  These are three punks was it worth.  I also don't like being taken for a fool and that is what Aruba is doing.  They think we are falling for their crap and I am here to voice my opinion and say we are not.  This is the United States and how dare a POS island think we are so stupid.  I have watched them rip apart Natalee and her family who are only looking for the truth as to what happened to their daughter and I would like to see them get their answer.

.Because it is a government abusing our citizens and refusing to investigate her disappearance in anything close to minimal standards.  The cover up and corruption are so blatant and offensive.

Most of the larger hotel chains are American.  American money developed Aruba from a desert and American money sustained it and first chance they get, they are abusive of our citizens in this vile and reprehensible manner.  This should have been resolved within 48 hours of her disappearance if normal methods and procedures had been followed.

It is one thing for suspects to lie yet quite another for law enforcement and government officials to do so, shocking in fact.   :evil:

It makes me very sad to think of this young life lost and very angry to think of those who enabled it to happen with total impunity.  She is from very near where I live and I know many kids who seem very much like her.  The injustice of it is very real and hard to endure.   :cry:

At first, it was an identification with Natalee and Beth and their family.  I have daughter close to Natalee's age, I'm in education, as Beth is, and the students I teach are Natalee's age.  My heart went out to them instantly. As time went on, the injustice of it all and the amazing cover up in Aruba, kept me drawn to this case.  I have always been one who championed people who just didn't get a fair break and were doing everything they could to make life better.  The worse Aruba treated Beth, Jug, Dave and Robin, the more inflamed and involved I became.  Now, it's like a cause--something I cannot leave until it's done.

And I almost wish that I was as news isolated as I once was...  because my heart is breaking ~ knowing what is going on in our world...

I vote ~ I write and call my representatives ~ I'm doing what I can to help make a change here...  I'm glad to see that we're making progress on the sex offender/child molester front...  but, it's still not enough...

And it'll never be enough until guys like the one who got Dru never see the light of day, without bars being in front of his eyes until the day that he dies or is executed ~ and doesn't have that second chance ~ of getting out of prison in merely 20 years...  because he didn't actually "murder" his first victim...  Until stuff like this never happens again ~ nothing will ever be enough.

And, I don't know what gripped me about Natalee and her family's plight, Mrs. Red...  Heard about it ~ said a prayer or two or three...  and like Klaas said ~ we heard who she was last seen with...  we started hearing so much ~ and it all pointed to the main suspects, J2K, and Paulus...

And I was waiting, and praying, for Natalee's family...  trying to support them with my prayers, for that time when Natalee's body was found...

1.) The parents were on ( Mark Lunsford )
2.) There were several pictures of Jessica and you could IDENTIFY
with the grief of the parents    
3.) the Mystery.. In Jessica's case, she was last seen going to bed and sleeping.
I think it is people identifying with the family and feeling that this could be any kid.Your kid, my kid idea.

With Natalee, it is because of Aruba and the fact that they had a confession.

March 26: Photos uploaded to Webshots by Bailey Anne, an American girl who traveled to Aruba with her friend Alyse.  During their trip she stayed at the Wyndham hotel, across the street from the Mills Resort.  Bailey's photos show that on their last night in Aruba, the 2 girls encountered Joran, Deepak, Joran's friend Freddy Arambatzis, and Steffy, an Aruban girl who also knew Joran.   There is some speculation that a separate photo of Steffy, dated March 10 and showing her lying in bed at least partially unclothed, in what appears to be a room at the Mills Resort, was also taken on their last night in Aruba.  It appears from Bailey's photos that she and Alyse left CnCs with Joran and the other 3.  One photo, taken from the back seat of a vehicle as it passes Diamonds International, shows Deepak driving with Joran sitting next to him in front, while the vehicle's 2 DVD players are showing the same porno DVD.  Months later, during interrogation, Deepak admits that while Natalee was in his car, she was shocked when Satish put on a porno DVD.

I have followed crime stories, particularly child abductions, for years. Pedophilia/murder is the most terrible crime IMO.

The Holloway case is the first that lured me into the world of internet forums.

Like many of us, I am a parent, Georgia native (some family in Alabama), so I felt those kinds of connections.

I followed, but was not so immersed in the case, until the weekend of June 11 2005 ("We have a confession" etc.). As soon as that happened, I knew that a resolution was a long, long way off - if ever.

But I think the thing that MOST gripped me was the anti-victim machine. I remember compiling all the Trash Beth/Natalee/Jug/Dave posts from one 8-hour period here at SM last summer. I think I even sent you (or somebody) an email about it.

This - the spin machine - has distinguished this case from any other that I can recall. I think we've unfortunately witnessed a social phenomenon.

Katz.. she definately needs prayers.... but it's hard for me to believe she didn't know what she was doing....

Natalee is missing person.. where there is NO hard evidence of a crime commited against her (that we know about).  Statements yes.. but other items ???

A lot more circumstantial items that where in many, many 100's or 100's of missing person cases they have nothing, just nothing except  last seen at xxx time & location to go on.

I try to put my mind in a place here in the US  where a Town with a population near that of the COUNTRY of Aruba and this occured.

What would have occured?  When would the town have asked for outside help and let them take a lead.  (When did they ask for Dutch assistance?)

When would the peple of the U.S. town have taken to the streets and demanded answers and accountability from the people that are in charge?

Bottom line for me and my passion...

#1 Resolution for Natalee's family and friends  
#2 Possible exposure of a police / government cover up to propect individauls
#3 Possibly maybe just possibly be part of something that assists a people (group / country) in realizing that they are only truly free when they Make a stand and can  question and DEMAND accountablity from those that govern them

I know you have gotten tired of all the answers but want to put my 2 cents in. LOL

I have followed missing person cases for a few years now. I believe most of them have probably been children abducted by pedophiles. Of course as a parent my heart has went out to the families of those who were missing. Such as John Walsh and The parents of Jacob Wetterling. Both of these families have been heavily involved in helping families of other missing people.

Then I told you about the young man from my area. Of Course Dru has already been mentioned. And Rachel Cooke whose Father has also been so helpful to other missing. Tim Miller and his missing murdered daughter who went on to create TES.

Then Jessica Lunsford and that creep ( John Cooey) And the Groene children and (Jet Duncan may he rot in Hell).

With Natalee I believe it was first because she was in another country when she went missing and then the awful cover up and trashing we saw so quickly. I think that is what has kept me coming to Scared Monkeys. I keep hoping Aruba will get the message we are not going away. We just will not be spending our money to support their economy. JMHO

My recent exposure (18 mo) to the intenet has a lot to do with it.
Another part is the "trust" we have in our system.  Much like Aruba in theirs (sorry)

BUT show me a U.S. case where as much information is Shouting .. Cover Up..   When You can... I'll be spending more time there... for it is something I can more directly impact and raise hell about since it is here and not some other country.

I'm not saying I'll give up the fight for Natalee but it is  the people of Aurba that have to get their heads out of the sand or other places and demand answers for things to change and to get resolution.  OR they will pay the price down the road or now.

Is no longer working.  It went down a couple months ago.  I didn't capture all of the photos, just some of them.  Sander was in a posed family photo.  In another family photo you see Freddy and Ernesto.  These are all photos in which Sasha was centered.  So maybe they are all related but cousins or something??

Sam and all monkeys.  I know that it seems strange but I think we need to pray and pray very hard and in ernest for the K2 and J2.  I know that this is unusual but I think until they find their hearts softened, the island will always cover for them, because it appears Aruba is just a haven for corruption, but if their hearts are turned and their eyes turned toward God, they will want to answer, their lives will be changed and they will not be fulfilled until they have come to grips with this.

Many very evil people admit on death-bed confession and ask forgiveness of the ones they have killed or harmed.  I hope we can have these three boys give a confession, not death-bed necessarily but confess and ask the family to forgive them, because without that they lives will always be empty.  Drinking, drugging, etc., will not give them completeness to their lives anymore than their parents have had in their lives.  Their parents are some very sad people whose lives have been about existing with what they could "take," and not what they could do for others, what  a sorry way to  have to live, knowing you are nothing but a taker.

Sounds GREAT Katz!  Just a word of advice...I've researched this, and found that you're never supposed to put actual paper labels on any DVD-R's.  It messes with the "balance" that the disc spins on, and shortens the life of the data on the disc itself.  The Light Scribe method is the most ideal.  But, if you dont' have one of those drives, it's best you leave the disc blank.

Also, what program are you uing to rip audio from the DVD's?  I've always done it manually...

Yeah ~ I just found that out in Sams Club yesterday...  and bought DVD labels at Best Buy today...  Sams had the whole package kit ~ I don't need that...  I have that little black plastic thing and I make my own templets...

And I found out that "drag and drop" copying of DVDs won't work on a Mac...  I have to download a program called "Mac the Ripper" to get the files onto my computer that will open and play like a movie ~ and then I have get this program called DVXDVD at version tracker to put those files on to another DVD....

News just hit ~ new hope that Destiny is alive...

For the DVDs ~ I like leaving the disk itself alone....  but making a nice identifying "jacket" for the case ~ and I bought tall cases at Sams Club that just slide in and match in size to the new DVD movies I've bought...  and I just have a VCR to DVD and back recorder right now...  because I have stuff on VCR tape that I'm working on transferring over to DVD...  and our whole family home movies from when we were kids....  my sister had them made into VCR tapes ~ I'll make them into DVDs...

Next step I'll get a DVD to DVD recorder....maybe...  seesch!

Sounds good Katz!  I too archive old VHS tapes (mostly home movies, and old boxing tapes.  I'm a HUGE boxing fan) to DVD using a stand alone DVD burner.  But, mine has a built in HD, which allows me to edit (take out commercials, clean up cutting points, etc) before transferring to DVD>  Some of the ones I sent you are VERY early discs I made...mostly before I learned to effectively use the machine.  And now, I use Nero to create menus (w/artwork, graphics, fonts, etc) and make them a little more fancy.  I enjoy doing that kind of stuff...

SALT LAKE CITY (AP/KSL News) -- Officers have found the body of missing 5-year-old Destiny Norton in the basement of a home in her neighborhood and have arrested the man living there, Chief Chris Burbank announced.

Officers found the body at 8:30 tonight at 518 East Elwood Place. The resident of that home, identified as Craig Roger Gregerson, is being held for investigation of homicide.

And oh gosh ~ for the last years of his life ~ I was friends with Joey...  oh gosh ~ I can't remeber his last name ~ a white guy ~ professional boxer...  I met him at the Marina (small casino) before it got buried under the new MGM....

katz, I was pruning crape myrtles because they have started going to seed. In order to get more bloom, I was going to prune all the seeds off.  I think they are about 6-feet tall.  I only grow acomas, the ones that look like a white umbrella when they are blooming.  I pulled the branches down to prune.  I had one caught around my finger like a band as I was pulling it and did not realize it.  It hurt and I did not realize that I had actually cut the circulation off and caused it to cut into the bone until I came inside.  It had cut a circle around the joints on my index finger, was bleeding and now it is swollen and yukky looking, real hot.  I should have been wearing gloves and been more careful.  I don't practice what I preach.  I took an aspirin and a Tylenol so it's not hurting as bad as a few minutes ago.  I am a walking disaster.  I was trying to hurry because we were expecting rain (that never came).

And what do you want to bet that the guy had a " history " of this ?

My first reaction was anger at these animals that walk among us.  
She was taken pretty close to her own home from what I can figure out so far.
They're taking them out of their own beds and from their own yards.

I was reading a story last week or so.  I sent it to Mrs. Red regarding a person who had communicated with one of these animals, not like what Truman Capote did, and I think he said he had stalked and staked out as many as 25,000 people but of course, did not rape and murder them all but had that many on his "to do" list.  I think first offense should be immediate conviction, make them sit and watch porno videos and anytime there is a sign of tumesence, stick them with the cattle prod in the privates.

I quite agree so perhaps one resolution is for the parole officers to require a sweep weekly of their homes to ensure they aren't harboring any form of a PC? I am not on my regular computer, have one of son's and am using it while mine goes to B'ham to be checked then on to authorities.  Son said he will have to sign a waiver that if they lose data on hard drive it is OK.  Well, heck, it's not OK!   :?

So not solely due to that, but rather due to that and other details, I vote Paulus and his elders were involved and in more than just after the fact.

Something so horrible lurks on that island that exposing it to the light of day is a fate worse than prison???? I also think Jossy's exposure of the other teens impacted is likely born of his effort to expose what he has been unable to expose or even accuse openly, so I do think the two could be related. I do hope we hear more on that soon.

Tougher laws and tougher sentencing or life as some states are enacting now for rape of a child under age ten, I think it is.  They are incurable but I have to wonder what the root cause of it all is.  Some sort of arrested sexual development or something??  At least with pedophiles.  Now these others who prey on older victims I think are just evil and take what they want.  They see something that looks shiny to them and just like a crow, they Will take it any way they can get it and that is just evil and greedy.

Some joker conected me to a whole bunch of other computers with a nasty little java applet he would install on my computer.  I had photos from some people I never heard of with a computer they had named Lilly and several others.  One in the Netherlands and I found the script he used, in part to connect.

But there was all sorts of things on there that I did not put like installing two printers I have never owned and records of printing stuff on them, just all kinds of hacking.  And a website in the Netherlands they can contact.  I carried on about it a lot Friday and Saturday until I knew I was boring people.  But I had never ever and would not ever make a network!  Certainly not with total strangers.  And I have had charges on credit cards in Europe including two months of internet phone service in the United Kingdom--just what I always wanted  (being sarcastic) and tickets to the World Cup, etc. so they will see if the two are connected.

So strange to see those strange photos of people I do not know and never heard of.   :shock: I could get into some of the computers in My Network Places as they did not even password them.  So they probably could get into mine as easily.  None thinks it funny that I wanted ot leave them little messages that I had been there.   :D Well, they left me some so only fair I think!.

Well, Tyler, at least you were treated to nice sporting events!  I got some ducks or geese, some kind of fowl and a junked car and some construction workers making a railroad crossing.  Absolutely huge photo of that several of them for some reason.  That in the U.S. as the words Railroad Crossing are in English and it looks American.

Now one site had nice things but not many, like paintings of water lilies and such.

I am trying to dry a heavy slipcover for a den sofa and it is taking forever.  If I just turn it  off and it is not completely dry it will wrinkle like anything.  So think I will try just putting it on the sofa sort of damp  :oops: and going to bed.  Wanted to dry it at night so it would be cooler to run the dryer so long.  In this heat it will prolly dry quickly anyway as it is warm even inside in the heat of the day.

Yes! Which absolutely freaks me out! I won't let Justin go outside without me or another trusted adult. And I still take him into a public women's restroom with me if there is no one-occupant-only men's room. His childhood is vastly different from my own. My peers and I could safely run around our neighborhood all day and evening. We could walk across town with no fear whatsoever. It's sickening that our children must be held captive like this to keep them safe.

I am actually setting on the deck having my coffee talking to my monkey buddies that I have missed sooooo much.  I can't believe I finally got one.  I had a laptop for about 2 weeks in august of 2003, then the guys at the business thought they needed it.  :shock:   They won.  It was pretty bulky though.  It is a desktop laptop.  

This one is awesome.  No wires.  Thin....lightweight....faster than anything I have ever used.....of course I was using an old 98 emachines.  This one is a dell inspiron E1505 with intel centrino duo core sumpin or another with windows xp professional.  I can even work the pad thingy so I don't have to use a mouse.  WOOHOO!!!!  :D

Well, gotta go do some chores so I'll TTYL.  It's good to be back.  :wink:

Mere   Yes this one has 4 usb thingys so I could use a mouse if I needed to.  I really am thankful to have this.  My son found it for me.  It has so much stuff on it that I prolly will never use, but it was about $450.00 less than dells best deal.  I got it off ebay.  It is new.  Box never opened.  I was really scepticle about it so I used my credit card that has all the protection stuff on it ya know.  It's for real.  Has the one year warranty too.  If you are interested, I'll send you all the details.  It's loaded!$685.00

The world has become sick and deviant minded.  I can't begin to even comprehend the horror of losing a child.  And it does give me comfort that little Destiny is in Gods arms.

  Even though all my training says that visual corperal or capital punishment dosent deter the crime  but for hanious child and sexual crimes against women I sure would like to see a 25 year study done on this and see were the statistics would go and further a special ruleing about maybe one appeal withen a year and then a short excicution date that would be publicized . as far as what was discussed earlier today or last night regarding Andrea Yates....I can barely even type her name, it all makes me so ill. Yes, she is crazy, but legally insane so that she gets off w/ a slap on the wrist and/or only medical help...NO WAY!! I could hardly even believe that she got a NEW TRIAL!! That blew my mind...If I were on the 1st jury, I would have said DEATH PENALTY....period. It still blows my mind this is even back in the courts. I would like to say a lot more, but will refrain from comments I have for this less than human mother. I want to see her for the remainder of her lifetime so that she will never be allowed on the streets again to give birth and hurt another child. She belongs in prison.......period.

The only reason I say this is because I know the death penalty would never be considered for her.....

If we put these pedophiles in with general population in prisons, that would be "problem solved".

Hello, Monkeys!  I've been gone for quite awhile - away from home part of the time, dealing with some family and church emergencies, and extremely busy getting ready for a new school year which begins August 2nd.

But, I have not forgotten you all nor have I forgotten Natalee.  Mrs. Red, you posed a question last night on the forum, but I was too tired to make a reply.  You asked what hooked us on this case in particular (or something to that effect).  The news story caught my attention when Natalee disappeared on my birthday.  I kept looking for news on the internet and soon came to Scared Monkeys after a google search on her name.  I've stayed ever since because of the news here and the caring people.

I'm very behind now on what has happened in the past few weeks -although I fear there has not been much "news" on the case.

I wish each of you well and hope to be back here more before too long.

I completely agree Katz!!  People like this should NEVER be released...no matter what the argeument is to the contrary.  Unfortunately for us though, the system we have here in this country...although obviously flawed...worked the way it was supposed to.  Sure, that seems like a crazy notion, but...if you think about it...this man served his debt to society as he was supposed to.  The state had no leg to stand on in terms of keeping him incarcerated.  And that, my dear, is the REAL problem here...

We must as a society begin to affect change by way of voicing our concerns at the polls.  It's EVERY American's duty to ensure the quality of life we expect not only for us, but for our families as well.  Issues like this must be address at the bottom up.  If not, then we'll jhave many more instances where this occurs...

By the way, I also get asked many, many times about the Natalee Holloway case. I wish I had some information to tell you, but matters seem bleak in the criminal investigation. The judge in New York City still must decide the motion in the civil case filed there — whether the civil case will stay in NYC or get thrown out. That decision should come any day (it was argued in the New York court in May.) As for Beth, I stay in touch with her. She still has no information. I did confirm that Joran van der Sloot has a book deal in Holland.

I have been reading back for about an hour now trying to catch up. I feel so bad for Destiny's family.

Last night I had said I had been following these children cases for years. I can't remember what year it was, probably between 1971 and 75. A boy of around 10 was missing from Freeport, Maine. We lived about 4 miles away at the time. He was found about a week later I think in an apartment under a guys bed. The same building he lived in. My children were young at the time and of course it really hit home. Plus Maine really has a pretty low crime rate compared to some other states. A wonderful place to raise children.

My own personal feeling is these child predators should be given the death penalty. Even for rape of the child without the killing. No it would not keep the predators from offending the first time but it would the second. Just maybe after awhile of doing this there would be those who would not offend but if not it would still be less of them in the world. Jet Duncan should have never had a chance to do what he did to the Groene family. He was already a convicted child molestor as well as killer.


I feel the same way about the Yates case. Death penalty even though I do believe she was mentally ill. Mental illness does not excuse what she did.JMHO

Tyler thank you for reminding me to pray for my enemies. I will try to do better at this. I will pray for Joran and the K2 to get God in their hearts and to tell the truth of what happened to Natalee.

I really have to love JetBlue...  they got my nephew home for Christmas this year...

And he almost didn't make it...

He was travelling from Upstate New York with a classmate ~ his friend's teacher wouldn't let the students out early ~ so they missed the shuttle to the airport...  Adam and his friend took the train into the city...  and then had to take the NYCity subway to Queens to get to JFK...  Adam was on the phone with my sister getting subway directions for the fastest way to go...  My sister was on the phone with her friend Lisa arranging for them to have a place to stay if they missed their flight...  Lisa met them at the Rockaway A train stop ~ and broke the speed limit getting them to the airport...

My sister was also on the phone with JetBlue ~ she told them what was happening...

JetBlue delayed the flight just long enough for Adam and his friend to get on the plane...  The door closed and the plane taxied to the runway as soon as they boarded....  The JetBlue plane waited for about 5 minutes for them to arrive...

I don't know of too many other airlines that would have done that...

I'm still having connectivity problems with AOL.  Grrrrrr.  Have I missed anything important.

IMO, if they ever let a sexual predator out of prison, they need to microchip him with GPS, put a monitor on his ankle, and chemically castrate him.  He would need to go everyday to a clinic to receive his medicine and if he didn't show for even one day, he would be tracked with the GPS, arrested and receive life without parole.  

We already have prison overcrowding, but it costs big bucks to execute a prisoner b/c of all the appeals processes which take so dang long.  Then we have all these ACLU's screaming for prisoners rights. They need to streamline the appeals process and put murders to death within 2 years max from conviction.

Sometimes though, a prisoner can be innocent.  We had a man here in prison for 24 years for a rape he didn't commit. He was finally freed last fall.  If the prisoner is really innocent, then he would go everyday to the clinic for the chemical castration b/c he would not want to go back to prison.  Then he can try to prove himself innocent on his own dollar.

I also think that the prisoners should be made to work on a chain gang type of labor and send all the money they earn to the victim.  They also need to stop coddling our prisoners.  Take away their airconditioning, TV, canteen, cigarettes, computers, etc.

I'm sorry, but I am hardline.

sunfreak I am in total agreement with you....I think the prison syste should take a clue from Sheriff Joe Arpaio in AZ....I have a friend who's son was sent there for drugs.....he spent 10 months there and is now graduating from college...that 10 months turned his life around....he know one thing for sure when he got outta there...he would never do anything that might put him back there

My short term memory is the pits....does anyone remember....if you went to a profile and the person had the "e-mail" notation......you would click on it....then there was a subject line and a message body space...you wrote in each and clicked submit....just like a post but a different size....I liked that because it seemed so safe....anyone coming in could write you but not know your e-mail address unless you gave it to them.....

of course, people with short term memory problems should give up quickly....before the rest of the group thinks they are nuts....so, I give...!

Klaas...yes....I had mine in my profile....and when I clicked on it...it was an email form showing my email addy...I have now checked that it not be shown....I did have it checked that it could be....hope this makes sense.

I am actually seeing the e-mail address.....I tried Sunny's twice and saw it (though she has removed it)....I can see mrs. red's....no one else on this page has their e-mail available....

I didn't use it that frequently, but the few times I did, I didn't know the email address until the poster responded to me.

The first time, I even asked Klaas if I could 'respond' to the the response -- or if I had to go through the profile each time. And the answer was that I could now go directly through email rather than the profile.

I didn't, and still don't, have my email in my profile. I guess that means that I need to initiate the first email -- and only to posters who have their email in their profile?

Someone may have responded, but I've been working and am just catching up a bit.

When the forum was last brought back, I inquired about emailing through the profile.  Before, as you described, it would send to the person, and also notify you that your email was sent, plus a copy of the email would be sent to my email address. (if checked in profile to do so).  

NOW, the function activates the default email on the pc.  For example, if on my son's pc, the default is Outlook, and if I sent you an email through your profile, it opens up either my son's email or my husband's, whichever is activated.  It's not seeing that I use a yahoo account.  The last few I sent, I had to wait for the window to open, copy the address and paste to my yahoo mail...this, of course, is only for email addresses I had not saved or had never sent to before.  

Needless to say, I have taken my email out of my profile, since I rarely got any mail, and communicate with those I'd been in touch with. I figure if someone wants to reach me, they'd do it through Klaas, Red, Tom or mrs.red.

By the way I trust my monkey buddies and there are a FEW people with my email but I do not trust the refugees at all!
