Have no fear, Florida legislators are on the case. Troubled by holes in state child protection laws exposed in the recent Casey Anthony trial, lawmakers began tripping over each other with proposals to criminalize the failure to promptly report a missing or dead child.

That groundswell prompted Senate President Mike Haridopolos last week to hatch a Select Committee on Protecting Florida's Children. Its task: probe whether current child protection laws need shoring up.

I am really disappointed in Dr Phil for doing this interview, he is already appearing sympathetic to them by saying they have been through so much which tells me he will NOT be hitting them with the hard questions and even if he did, I would not expect the answers to be truthful, Cindy was proven to have lied under oath and it's my opinion George did as well. He was however honest I believe when he said he would do anything for his daughter which included lieing at the expense of his grandchild, Caylee. He and Cindy allowed Caylee to rot in the woods while they slept in their nice warm beds just down the street because they lied, covered up and destroyed evidence from the get go in order to save their devil flesh of a daughter. I don't want to hear anything they have to say, I will not be watching.JMO

As for Dr Phil, ugh, I am shocked that he would be making money off a dead 2 yr old child, his ratings will for sure sky rocket unless everyone boycotts and I see already the Anthonys are trying to recruit money under the guise of Caylee's Fund, there is NOTHING they can do for Caylee now, so the need to squash the fund because if they did nothing to help their own grandchild, who can expect that they will do anything to help any other child? Don't any of these show biz doctors ever have any qualms about promoting the glorification of a murder by pandering to the family who obviously aided and abetted the killer?

The A's are hard core publicity seekers who dictate what questions they'll answer so the program host goes into the deal already knowing that they have an agenda protected by a contract. It's all for ratings. What happened to integrity? 

It's such a joke at this point, the interview has already been done, money deposited into their hands by way of the "donation" and not one thing is considered wrong with it. Dr. Phil can pretend that he's asking the tough questions and taking the high road but anybody who followed this case knows what's really going on.

Casey Anthony's lawyers have gone on record saying they will appeal an order forcing her to return to Orlando to serve a year of probation for her check fraud conviction in 2010.

If those lawyers make true on the appeals, those documents would be filed at the Fifth District Court of Appeal, in Daytona Beach.

But as of Wednesday afternoon, they have not made their move.

Sunny, I would hate to sic the IRS on anyone, but I would make an exception for the Anthonys, et al.  Good for you.  I don't exactly know what they mean by "Grandparents' Rights."  Apparently Cindy went to an attorney and was told she could file for custody of Caylee, but failed to do so.  To push for this right is redundant, since grandparents already have it.  What rights do they mean?  Now if they were talking about grandparents' responsibilities, they know nothing about it and therefore are not qualified on the subject. IMO they are not knowledgeable about the role of a grandparent. It's a spectial relationship which comes naturally to most people, but somehow, never reached the Anthonys. Actually, they don't even deserve the name. "Grandparents," much less start a foundation scamming money on the subject.

I think that the grandparent rights that the Anthony's are talking about is like how it is in TN:

The Tennessee legislature has enacted states which enable grandparents to seek visitation rights with their grandchildren in particular situations. T.C.A. § 36-6-306 (a) allows grandparents requesting visitation to receive a trial when: (1) the father or mother of an unmarried minor is deceased; (2) the child's father or mother are divorced, legally separated, or were never married to each other; (3) the child's father or mother has been missing for not less than six months;

(4) the court of another state has ordered grandparent visitation; (5) the child resided in the home of the grandparent for a period of twelve months or more and was subsequently removed from the home by the parent or parents (this grandparent-grandchild relationship establishes a rebuttable presumption that denial of visitation may result in irreparable harm to the child); or (6) the child and the grandparents maintained a significant existing relationship for a period of twelve months or more immediately preceding severance of the relationship, this relationship was severed by the parent or parents for reasons other than abuse or presence of a danger of substantial harm to the child, and severance of this relationship is likely to occasion substantial emotional harm to the child. 

T.C.A. § 36-6-306 (b) (1) sets out that the court must determine whether there is a danger of substantial harm to the child if the child does not have visitation with the grandparent. The statute lists three factors to examine when determining the existence of substantial harm: (A) whether the child has had such a significant existing relationship with the grandparent that the loss of that relationship would likely cause severe emotional harm to the child; (B) whether the grandparent served as the child's primary caretaker and that the cessation of the relationship would interrupt the child's daily need and therefore bring about physical or emotional harm to the child and (C) the child had a significant existing relationship with the grandparent and the loss of the relationship presents the danger of other direct and substantial harm to the child. In order to determine whether the aforementioned conditions are satisfied, the court must determine whether the relationship between the grandparent and the grandchild is significant. T.C.A § 36-6-306 (b) (2) states that a relationship is deemed to be significant if: (A) the child resided with the grandparent for at least six consecutive months; (B) the grandparent was a full-time caretaker of the child for a period no less than six months; or (C) the grandparent had frequent visitation with the child who is the subject of the suit for no less than one year.

If the court finds that the danger of substantial harm exists, the court must then decide whether the grandparent visitation would be in the child's best interest. T.C.A. § 36-6-307 lists the pertinent elements to the best interest analysis. The court should consider: (1) the length and quality of the prior relationship between the child and the grandparent and the role the grandparent played in the child's life; (2) the existing emotional ties of the child to the grandparent; (3) the preference of the child if the child is determined to be sufficiently mature to express a preference; (4) the effect of the hostility between the grandparent and the parent of the child manifested before the child, and the willingness of the grandparent, except in the case of abuse, to encourage a close relationship between the child and the parent or parents, or the guardian or guardians of the child; (5) the good faith of the grandparent filing the petition; (6) if the parents are divorced of separated, the time-sharing arrangements that exist between the parents with respect to the child; and (7) if one parent is deceased or missing, the fact that the grandparents requesting the visitation are the parents of the deceased or missing person.

Casey Anthony's defense team filed an emergency petition Wednesday with an appeal court, asking the judges to vacate Judge Belvin Perry's recent order that will require her to report to probation by the end of next week.

The appeal requests an expedited review. Perry ordered that Anthony return to Orange County to serve the probation by no later than noon on Aug. 26.

Judge Perry took over after Strickland recused himself. Perry, in his order, blamed the defense for knowing that Anthony was supposed to serve probation upon release, but an error in the written order from Judge Strickland left that out.

Baez has been the target of several other Bar inquires since taking on Anthony's case in the summer of 2008. Anthony was acquitted last month on charges of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie.

*In September 2009, the Bar cleared Baez of an ethical complaint accusing him of getting paid inappropriately in the case.

*That same month, the Bar cleared Baez of ethics allegations made by private investigator Dominic Casey, who claimed Baez never paid him. He also said the attorney told him to walk away from Caylee's remains if he ever found them and contact Baez. Both complaints were dismissed based on insufficient evidence.

*Strickland wrote the Bar about the Dominic Casey incident, also resulting in no formal action against Baez.

*The Bar initiated its own investigation into Baez after the State Attorney's Office faxed news releases that seemed to be generated on his behalf by his former spokesman that were critical of State Attorney Lawson Lamar. The Bar found no disciplinary proceedings against Baez were appropriate.

*The Bar confirmed a separate complaint against Baez in early February. Specific details about that complaint have not been released.

My crystal ball, for whatever it is worth, predicts Buyazz will have lots of more complaints filed against him.

And although a public entity..my understanding of the way they have worked in the past is no one will see any accounting until they file their 2011 taxes....and they can file late as long as they put in extensions.

However when you see all the money that went to admin costs in the past..why would you give them anything..everyone knows admin is the overhead for the office, phnes, computer, workers bees..and in this case that means the A's home, their computer, their phones, their pockets..etc...and to really be written off it has to be very carefully calculated to be things they don't use personally or they then have to prorate the cost of the extent it is used for the non profit.

Anyroad..my point is..when I donate to charities I do check out how much actually goes to the helping those in need and how much goes to administration.  I then determine rather this is something I want to place money in according to how much good it does in getting to the people..not paying salaries alone.  The fact is most administration costs for non profits can and are underwritten by grants through federal, state and local governments.  The rest needs to be raised locally, statewide or nationally in a legitimate organization they have most of their admin covered before they hit the pavement.  The A's simply hung a shingle out, went to an attorney had a non profit drawn up and then called it a day.....just too bogus to believe..but this goes on everyday..most just aren't as high profile as the A's.  Asking for donations when they have yet to do anything for anyone other then themselves...deceitful and despicable money whores.

They are for sure money whores Gypsy DD and it just blows my mind that anyone would give them a dime. They have not worked since 2008 so people should really question what the heck they've been living off of, unemployment doesn't pay that well and although I've never filed for it myself, it's my understanding you can only get it for so long. I do blame some of the TH's like JVM and NG for constantly showing them in a sympathetic view, they need to stop giving them any air time, any public forum at all, let them go back in the hole they crawled out of.

A boy pleaded guilty in juvenile court to unspecified charges after the family notified police when the girl was raped a second time, the newspaper reported. A court representative said a three-judge panel will respond to an emergency motion filed by Anthony's defense team before a deadline to report for probation next week. That could mean putting everything on hold.

"It would not be uncommon for a stay to be issued while all the paperwork is being gathered for the three-judge panel to make their decision," 5th District Court of Appeal spokeswoman Joanne Simmons said in a written statement.

The appeals court is waiting for a hard copy of the emergency motion to be delivered before acting on it.

A spokeswoman said Judge Belvin Perry and prosecutor Frank George will get a chance to file a response to the motion. Anthony is due to report Friday for probation at a Florida Department of Corrections office.

I assume that you have already received so many letters on your decision to feature George and Cindy Anthony as guests that this online feedback will barely have a chance of being read, or if it is actually read, will somehow be tossed in the pile of "other enraged Orlando residents" and completely ignored.

However, I'm letting hope prevail this will actually be seen - and heard - by someone since one letter equals the voice of one hundred people.

I could not, in good conscience, just walk away without first sending this letter.  As a human being with compassion for slain children.  As a mother with a son just days apart in age from Caylee - who had his 3rd birthday on the day she went missing.  As a professional family and children's  photographer - my life's work involves keeping children happy and recording permanent family memories for the generations that follow.  And as an Orlando area resident who has watched this case unfold from the very beginning - still sitting here in disbelief almost 2 months later at not only what I saw in the courtroom, but in the verdict that resulted.

Much of that disbelief during the trial came directly from the original source - Cindy and George Anthony.  This community has a very deep-rooted and severe distrust for this family, and has for a very long time.  Caylee has never been in the forefront of any of their "causes" (for lack of a better word).  They excel at getting attention (and camera time) for themselves and their daughter Casey, and the money that goes with that attention.  They truly seem to live and die by the theory "attention, even if bad, is still attention".  Even as recently as the events on Hopespring Drive on a recent August evening - one that would have been Caylee's 6th birthday - her grandparents somehow found the time to set aside their private trips to Caribbean resorts, and first class flights around the country, and put on a stoic face for the cameras as if they'd been there all along.  (Actually they had been there all along, stealing crosses that had been erected and bagging up and trashing stuffed animals placed out for Caylee.  So I digress.)  But wait - on that August 9th evening there were George and Cindy again - asking us to heal and move on.  What was that?  Come together in a sense of harmony, peace, and community?  Oh but wait, - there's always a catch with those two - "please donate to our newest foundation first"!

The Anthonys lied on the stand.  All of them.  It was PROVEN they lied on the stand.  What makes you so special to believe suddenly, after over three years of lies, that you -- and you alone, Dr. Phil -- will some how be able to extract the truth?  And that somehow they've been sitting around for three years just waiting for you - and only you - to do it?  Money talks.  But it doesn't always speak the truth.

Why is it beyond reason to ask someone in the media to finally, once and for all, to promote a show that will honor the memory of the CHILD that was lost - and not just provide more five-star hotel accommodations and first-class airfare for her grandparents?

I realize that you consider yourself a Texan and you've been up to your ankles in BS in the past, and are smart enough to know when you're there again.  Well I was born and raised an Oklahoman (the state you were also born in), and I can promise you that Orlando has been waist-deep in it since July of 2008 when Caylee was first reported missing by Cindy Anthony.  You don't even have to step in it to smell it.

Why not interview state prosecutor Jeff Ashton instead?  He's now retired and occasionally makes the media circuit.  He lived and breathed this case for years.  Caylee - not Casey - came first for him.  He could provide incredible insight.

Why not interview coroner Dr. Jan Garavaglia who performed the autopsy?  Under oath she stated:

"There is no child that should have duct tape on its face when it dies."

"Accidental deaths are reported 100 percent of the time -- unless there's reason not to."

But no.  Instead, for "ratings gold", you have opted to go with two proven liars - proven perjurers - instead.

Congratulations on getting your big interview Dr. Phil.  I didn't think you could sink much lower after that whole Britney Spears "intervention" thing.  But you have.  And you must be so proud.  As must your wife Robin, with whom I share a name.

Jose Baez, Casey Anthony's lawyer, is being investigated by the State Bar of Florida, for possible ethical violations -- specifically, hiding information from the court.

The probe was triggered over a dogfight involving Anthony's 2010 conviction for check fraud.  She was placed on 1 year's probation, but the judge in the case made it clear on the bench -- the time Casey sat in jail awaiting her murder trial would not count toward the completion of probation.

Here's the problem ... the judge screwed up, and when he wrote the order placing Anthony on probation, it mistakenly read that the jail time would count toward completing probation. ::snipping2::

Does anyone find it odd that Benevides put up that hefty reward for Caylee's safe return, yet he supposedly had no connection to the Anthony family, and he said he only did it bc it was a sad situation & the right thing to do?

Something I found ironic is that alot of the websites searched on Casey's computer were linked to escorting, but it was never brought up in court. Why? What about bangbros? How come that wasn't brought up? Remember the Miami Pornification gig...linked to that also! Those exotic car shows & model mayhem links with some girls that frequented craigslist & travel forum sites?

Something else to think about is this: If the jury wasn't bought or professionally put together, and if JBP had all 100% good intentions by spoiling these jurors more so that normal families can spoil themselves on vacation...then doesn't anyone find it ironic that they stayed in a Rosen resort? A Rosen? Seriously? Since when do jurors stay for a month & a half in an all expense paid luxury resort? Since when? Could there have been a hidden agenda & the joke is on America?

Who owns the Rosen? Could it be Harris Rosen? Who did Jesse Grund get all excited over bc he said somebody offered to help out when Caylee went missing? Harris Rosen, that's who. Maybe he offered out of the goodness of his heart.

It'll probably be melted down, just like Caylee's was cremated.

Time goes by and innovative technology perseveres. Maybe Caylee was cremated to prevent later, maybe newer possible toxicology, testing on her remains. I wish the State could gave kept all of her instead of just her samples.

I am thinking this house is unsellable because it may possibly have been built with the Chinese drywall that has made many homes in Florida unlivable....there's more then one way to unload a property that you would otherwise have to rewall, replumb and rerun the electric in..Chinese drywall releases a chemich that completey corrodes all wiring  in a home..and while it is corroding  it it releases a very nasty smell.  Just saying..where the Milstead's are involved I don't see anything worthwhile happening for the consumer err winner of this raffle.

Why it wasn't brought up in trial..I'll tell you why..because my bet is George said he searched them. And I do believe that was the startr over 2.5 years ago of George starting to take the plunge for Casey..to cover for her.  Infact I remember it coming out in a doc or report that those searches were his..and so it goes my friend.  I have oftened wondered if George and Cindy really did know atleast for a short while what Casey actually did to earn money?  She stole big time from them for a while and then it ceased..and she was scamming for small amounts from her Grandmom and Amy...so who was giving her the big bucks..and why in the world did Cindy ever believe there was a nnany when her daughter worked for Universal..I mean lets get real....I think they knew that Casey had some unsavory employment, there was never a nanny and that once they suspected Caylee was murdered they went into cover up mode big time..from day one in their dealings with LE after the initial calls from Cindy..after that..their stance really changed ...why?

And when you look at what they are making on these little non profit scams it is nickels and dimes..the real money now comes from pics and interviews..and this time just to change it up a bit they had Dr Phil put the money in the non profit they will scam 80% of as admin costs..whereas if they were really doing anything of value they would have gotten government grants that could have covered their salaries and use of their home...but hey..that would have been work right there..getting the grants..and we all kno the A's learned from Casey how to lie and con rather then work.

I also remember before all those websites showed up in any computer searches or mainstream press that these avenues were researched and they lead to a few other..all call girl type stuff and escorts and sweingers..etc.

Because there is a ton of them on the market in Florida that people let go to the banks after they couldn't live in them anylonger with the odors and could not afford to rehab as they already had a mortgage.  Chinese drywall wasn't known to be a problem until after it was installed in homes and businesses and it took a while for the smell and corrosion to surface and then trace it back to the drywall.

If you are ever buying a home in the South..make sure you ask about Chinese drywall and have a excape clause written into the contract  and have a home inspection to look at all the areas of the home..make sure the inspection company is familiar with Chinese drywall.

The law is named after Caylee Anthony, whose mother Casey was recently found not guilty of Caylee's death.

Caylee wasn't reported missing for nearly a month after her disappearance.

Although no one has come forward about having spotted Casey Anthony locally, a phone tip to the “Star” about her attorney heading this way, complete with aircraft registered numbers on the tail of the plane to be landing was the real deal. On Thurs., he was seen coming out of a privately owned aircraft at the Sugar Land Regional Airport. An eye witness who saw him a matter of a few feet away said it was Attorney Jose Baez.

Yep, especially when you have no job and could use the cash from the sale of it but just like everything else involving Caylee's death, they destroyed the evidence as soon as they got possession of it, from cleaning out the trunk, washing everything in it to cremating Caylee's remains. But they knew Caylee was in that trunk which is very telling actually because if they thought Caylee drowned in the pool, that would be destroyed by now too. JMO

I've never understood this relationship because how does 2 people who have no money have a lawyer? Must be getting him money from somewhere and I'm sure there are promises of money to come from interviews and book deals, etc.

As to TMZ, I've never had anything against them, would watch them from time to time for entertainment purposes and see what celebs are up but now, have no use for them since they had those pics of Casey, she is not a celeb and they shouldn't be treating her as one nor paying her to act like one. I've always known TMZ was a sleazy production but this reeks of lowlife bottom feeders. JMO

yep, I used to check TMZ every night along with CNN to see what was going on the world.  Since the photos appeared I have NOT been to TMZ even once!  Shame on them.

Am I the only one who thinks the jury was tampered with or does everyone think they were just idiots (or both).  I swear I just know that any day now we'll hear of how they got to the jury!

Unfortunately, I think this jury is much smarter than they've been given credit for, whether they were tampered with or came up with how they wanted to vote on their own, I think they very carefully reasoned out what the best scenerio for them was, they had several wks to do so, what did they talk about in all those weeks they were there? I'm sure they got to know each other very well and feel each other out..........They've done alot of flim flamming when asked questions, they're answers don't make sense and having nothing to do with the question or their job as a jury such as saying how could they find her guilty without knowing a cause of death when we all know they didn't need to concern themselves with that......or that how can you punish someone when you don't know what the crime was, not their job.....they said they couldn't even find her guilty of neglect because it was unclear who Caylee's primary caretaker was when #1 that is irrelevant when you look at the evidence of who last had Caylee, not to mention the 31 days and having Casey's own lawyer place Caylee dead in Casey's arms and #2, there's no question that Casey was the primary caretaker or else she wouldn't have made up a fake babysitter to account for Caylee's whereabouts at times.

So I think no, they weren't stupid, I think they calculated it all and they knew they couldn't face the public and lie in front of the cameras, hence they all scattered after the verdict, some enjoying Disney World, they calculated their money by trying to pimp themselves out for interviews, what they didn't calculate was just how much the world would not accept their 4.5 hrs verdict, they did not calculate how much love everyone had for Caylee and any child that is murdered and there is no justice. They did not calculate that this would not die down and go away and that next to Casey and her DT , they would now be 12 of the most hated people in this world. JMO

My opinion is that they knew exactly what they were doing.

In trying to make sense of the outrageous verdict, I thought possible jury tampering.

But I also think:  1.  The prosecution presented a disturbing, sad story of a remorseless, evil "thing" who viciously killed her daughter.
 The defense presented a story of an unfortunate drowning, a dysfunctional family and nothing sinister on behalf of the defendant.....just a liar and a slore.    The jury chose the least horrible scenario, voted NG, as if the truth and what really happened would change because of their decision.   It seems they felt better if they believed Caylee drowned instead of suffering a horrible death. 

2.  These lazy idiots just wanted to go home to enjoy the rest of the summer and vacation.   If these 12 people really did not read newspapers or watch tv like they said, that tells me that they are not much interested in community happenings and in social issues and therefore not having the intestinal fortitude to stand up for Justice even though it takes time and energy to see it through.  They did not have the courage to vote guilty and stay for the punishment phase.             ::MonkeyNoNo::

Is Todd the sole owner of the plane?  Is there anyway to trace who actually owns it?  Usually in these cases a group of attorneys might own the plane to use for business and pleasure.  I realize he isn't practicing law anylonger..but he obviously is still using the plane.  Maybe he owns it and rents it out to others.  Or maybe he just owns a share of it..

I guess to the jury I would say riddle me this..If Casey was such a fine mother, fine daughter and upstanding citizens as her parents and the defense claimed..why have her parents have said she can not live their with them..why is it Mason said she could come to stay with him..but just for a short time..not too long....After all these years in jail..Cindy's many pilgramages to and fro to see the silent one who would not see them..why would they not welcome this verdict and embrace her and welcome her home?

Because they know that she is a murdering sociopath and they were next. They probably have changed the locks and have installed security so if the woman comes within 50 feet of the house alarms sound and all hell breaks out. 

I do believe that Cindy and George have gotten on the gravy train again and we will soon hear of more then just Dr Phil..there will be others to follow and movie and book deals..probably the slant as told by the long suffering grandparents.

I'm still undecided if this continued break from their spawn is part of the charade or if they will also cast her aside by telling the world how stunned and hurt they were....could be a combo of the two. Get as much mileage as they can on the "felon hurt us" train and then play out the "therapeutic we forgive you" crap.  This saga clued me in that there really are evil people in our world. Not the night stalking, blood dripping types but the black souled kind that can callously forget a grandchild and then reduce her to being their meal ticket.

Some attorneys will do pro bono (free) work, in order to get the publicity and build up their practice.  Lippman doesn't look like he's very old and is probably still trying to build up his practice....he's sure gotten an invaluable amount of advertisement and everyone knows his name.  Even if he doesn't charge the A's a penney....he will get lots of other work out of this - work he probably wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

Isn't it weird how everything is crushed except those two headlights?

No Beth, I can not believe that God made 24 of the biggest  idiots on the face of the earth as jurors on both OJ's case and Casey's case appeared  to be. I think promises were made and I truly believe that Bozo and company somehow got to them before trial and made promises to them of a free pass to Disney and possible they would make more money with a NG verdict then with a guilty one,

I dont think anyone could prepare anyone with the way the World reacted to her aquiltial and I just love how the jurors that have talked says we didnt say she was "innocent".
I blame a lot of this on JP, he let Bozo and team get away with everything it seemed like in court and he should of never never promised the jurors they would be home in time to go on vacation etc.
With the OJ's trial not everyone had a computer and internet at home so it wasn't that bad of boycotts or anything, with Casey the world has a voice and they are speaking for Caylee.

I just keep signing pititions and boycotting everything to do with Casey and her family.

In this interview, Jennifer says they needed something to say Caylee's death was no accident. Uh, excuse me but how about 31 days of partying, how about never reporting Caylee missing, how about putting Caylee in trash bags in the swamp? ::MonkeyMad::

What in the course of that trial could have ever given them the impression there was an accident?

Cindy and George saying that she can't live with them. That statement implies that they won't ALLOW her to live there. That is just a thing for the media to put out there to try to change our perception of the Anthony's. For the Dr. Phil debut of the new and improved family. The one that starts a foundation to " help" others. The caring family. The long suffering grandparents, who care about others so much they are going to devote their time, energy and YOUR money to a cause. Such selfless persons.
Casey can't live anywhere where people know where she is. The house would be surrounded.

I do not watch Dr. Phil.   However, since the announcement the A will be on his show, I have seen bits of a few of his shows.   How will he interview the A's?   He is confrontataional and INSIST he does not coddle or sugar coat things.   Since I first saw Sin sin on the Nancy Grace show, she has insisted upon being coddled and directing the conversation.   Will the good doctor allow her to run the show without confrontation just to get the interview?  Or will he do a modified, pre planned confrontation?

Yep as well as no evidence to support it, in fact what I was searching for was the interview with one of the jurors saying they discounted the opening statement from Baez saying Caylee drowned, so then how do they think this healthy 3 yr old died? Well jury foreman says they thought that possibly not only did they think George had something to do with her being left in the swamp but that they thought George could have murdered her! If they saw no evidence that Casey did this with all that was presented to them, then how in the heck do they come to this conclusion about George? He said that George was there on the 15th when Casey and Caylee left, ok hold up because that was the 16th! Could it had been a mistake on his part, I don't think so, I think it shows how little they paid attention. JMO

I've always thought Dr Phil gave pretty good advice and that he's never held back when it came to guests on his show, but I just sense that there were "conditions" in order for him to have this sit down with the A's because they wouldn't agree to anything else knowing them, I think he's going to coddle them per his own words in advertising this that "they've been through so much" tells me he sympathizes with them. I'm also upset with him helping them to pimp their Caylee's Fund when it's obvious he's never checked this out to see that only 20% will go to help children. And lastly, I can't imagine why he would think he's getting any honest answers when that didn't happen in a court of law under oath. JMO

It's disgusting to say, but YES, I can see that.  I'm hoping that the A's won't let her come back to their home.  It would really tear up the neighborhood again and I think their neighbors need peace.

I think so...when..??  Maybe after "they" make it into a TV must-see reunion or some sort of tawdry attempt at a reality show. I bet it will showcase the marvels of therapy. Love and forgiveness and the felon's personal growth.....all the shyte nobody believes or gives a flying flip about but somehow these networks are bound and determined to shove these cretins down our throats and revisit the hysterical interest the trial brought them.

Just heard the replay of the Baez/Geraldo interview - below a tidbits I picked up on:

KC been with spiritual advisors/therapists - "close friends of ours" - to quote Baez on where KC has been.  Says she really was in Ohio (I seem to remember, a few days back, Baez laughed at the press and said she absolutely was not in Ohio).
 
Baez says he doesn't know what's going to happen about the probation.  It's a mess right now.  Whatever happens, KC will follow the letter of the law.
 
Baez - KC's so-called friends are types who ended up being folks who want to take advantage of the situation.  Geraldo asks if it's fair to say she had no friends at all.  Baez says that a number of folks around KC the past 3 years have grown to care about her a lot, but doesn't believe she has any former friends.
 
Baez says there's been a little bit of contact with her parents.  Yes, absolutely, has spoken to the parents.  Caylee's birthday was very hard for KC, very difficult time.
 
Geraldo asks if there's any chance in hell she will move back with her parents.  Baez says he doesn't know whether a reconcilication will be of part of what happens in KC's life - it's up to her.
 
Geraldo asks if she knows the depth of the anger of the American people.  Bez says he doesn't know; Baez doesn't think KC s concentrating all that much on the coverage.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- While Casey Anthony waits to find out if she will have to report back to Orange County for probation, her lead attorney confirmed on national television that she is back in Florida.

Jose Baez told Fox News talk show Geraldo Rivera in an interview taped Sunday night that Casey is back in Florida and ready to report.

“She is back in Florida. We brought her back in the event the appellate court rules sometime this week. And we're going to follow the letter of the law,” he said.

“Right now we have a separation of powers issue, we have double jeopardy issue. It's just a mess right now and we have to figure it all out,” said Baez.

The Fifth District Court of Appeal has given Perry until Monday to respond to the defense's appeal.

Baez also said that pictures of Casey taken in Ohio that appeared on TMZ were indeed real and that she was in Columbus.

Baez wouldn't say where else Casey has been since she was acquitted of murder, but did say she's been spending time with close friends and therapists and that she has been in touch with her family.

“We have her at a location that is very safe. She has people who care about her around here and she's trying to get on with her life, it's very difficult,” said Baez.

Baez also said that pictures of Casey taken in Ohio that appeared on TMZ were indeed real and that she was in Columbus.

Baez wouldn't say where else Casey has been since she was acquitted of murder, but did say she's been spending time with close friends and therapists and that she has been in touch with her family.

“We have her at a location that is very safe. She has people who care about her around here and she's trying to get on with her life, it's very difficult,” said Baez.

Regardless of what the fifth district court of appeal decides, Casey’s attorneys will be in court Thursday.

Perry will decide if Casey owes any money related to her murder trial.

Since she admitted to lying about Caylee's disappearance, local and state law enforcement agencies are demanding $515,000 of reimbursement.

Casey's lawyers filed a motion claiming she's broke. WFTV will be in court for that hearing, and let you know what the judge decides.

Also, on October 8, Casey is scheduled to be deposed in the civil lawsuit filed by Zeniada Gonzalez.

I didn't watch the circus with Geraldo Rivera and Jose Baez last night.  Somehow, I'm starting to dislike clowns.  I used to regularly watch FOX-- O'Reilly, Huckabee, etc. but I don't watch FOX at all since they went crazy and allowed Rivera to make a fool of himself and the whole cable channel.  IMO they have lost all credibility.

According to the above site, Baez says this is a matter concerning "Separation of powers," and is a "Mess."  I agree both he and Rivera are big messes, but this probation issue does not concern "Separation of powers."  It is strictly within the jurisdiction of the Judicial Branch.  Of course it is possible, maybe likely, that Baez and Rivera don't understand the concept of Judicial, Executive and Legislative, but then Baez doesn't understand much and Rivera understands nothing.

I predict the Appeals Court will uphold Perry who for once "Grew some," but I have been wrong before.  For instance, I always thought a jury would convict someone when the evidence was overwhelming. I was wrong about that, so who knows?

what time is the deadline for perry strickland and the state for their answer to the motion that was filed with the appeals court? and will they release it when it's filed?

I watched for a few minutes, that was all I could stomach. As far as the "good friends" Felon has, I hope they're all as genuine as Rosalie Bolin. Or maybe Whiskey Sally is giving her spiritual guidance. They're all using her. They can't fix her psyche, she's a narcissistic killer and is playing the game in hopes of luring public interest in her "rehabilitation". A prosecutor in the Casey Anthony case says the state will adopt the formal response of the state Attorney General's Office in the Casey Anthony probation case appeal, according to court records just filed.

"The Office of the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit…after consultation with the Office of the Florida Attorney General, joins and adopts the response made by the Office of the Attorney General in this case," wrote Assistant State Attorney Frank George in a brief court document filed today.

It's not clear, however, exactly what the AG's response is.

But the AG's office countered today that Casey Anthony's probation was never served.

"The error in petitioner's argument is that the court was not modifying a completed sentence," the AG's response reads. "Instead, the court was simply attempting to ensure the previously imposed, and never served, probation was begun."

The AG's office says Casey Anthony should have reported upon her release from jail last month.

"Admittedly, the treatment of her by the Department of Corrections was not executed with the greatest clarity; regardless, when this error became known to the trial court, the error was corrected," the AG's document says.

It also argues that having Casey Anthony serve probation now would not violate "double jeopardy." The response cites supporting case law decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.

"Petitioner should not be allowed to take advantage of an administrative error and create a free pass," the AG's office argues. "She, in essence, would be using the erroneous actions of the Department of Corrections as a sword to bypass the known intent of the sentencing court and the very purpose of probation - supervised release."

Finally, the AG's office concludes that the trial court had the jurisdiction to clarify the original sentencing order. It says the appeals court should affirm the order and that Casey Anthony "has yet to serve the one year of probation she was ordered to complete."

"The trial court simply is attempting to achieve the originally ordered sentence," the response states.

The response was filed by Assistant Attorney General Wesley Heidt.

hi Monks....trim thanks for all the updates...I needed to take a little bit of time away from the casey/baez circus!!  I have been reading though.  why should we now believe JB when he says kc is back in FL and she has had limited contact with her parents?? I'm thinking the Florida Bar is still ruminating about those complaints ... they're serious and don't happen overnight.  It should be interesting to see what unfolds.    In my view, it was very unethical not to bring that clerical error to the attention of the Court.

The last I heard Phil McGraw had allowed his license to practice psychology in CA to lapse and he is unlicensed anywhere.  He isn't a doctor anyway.  He pretends to be a medical doctor, IMO, but he never was and has a PhD in psychology, but as far as I know doesn't have a license to practice. What does a duck say?   I think that that Dr. Drew Pinsky person is a medical doctor, specializing in psychiatry. 

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't hire McGraw to mow my lawn.

Bondi's office told the court of appeal that probation is not a right, but a grace for "a second chance" to live by the law and that sentencing is not "a game in which a wrong move by the judge means immunity for the prisoner."

Circuit Judge Stan Strickland ordered Casey to serve one-year of probation if she ever was released after her murder trial, but the written order the department of corrections received did not include the words "after release." Therefore court of appeal is deciding whether Casey's one visit by a probation officer at the jail equals serving a year's probation.

"I think Fifth District Court of Appeals is going to place great weight on Supreme Court decisions that were cited by the attorney general's office. We're talking about constitutional principles and those principles have been passed on by the highest court in the land," said WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer.

Hi Sunny--I agree.  that goes for Mehmet Oz, too. I know that all of these TV docs make a lot of money, but I don't take anything they say seriously.  My least favorite is McGraw, although I can't say I've ever watched one of his shows all the way through.  Never watched Oz and occasionally watch Pinsky. 

I watched PBS Masterpiece Theatre last night and when it was over, about 10:30 I switched to FOX to see what was happening in Libya.  Well, you know whose big, fat face popped up.  I can't imagine having him on when Tripoli was being taken by rebels, but that goes to show how desparate Rivera is to get on the Casey Anthony bandwagon.  Anything for a buck, I guess. I turned it off immediately as I have no desire to see either one of those bozos.   

I am not sure...but I hope so.....and I hope she has to serve it in Orange County. I am so tired of the special treatment of this piece of chit!!
