Morning Seahorse, usually I leave an old tshirt. Forgot it today. He has a plush bed that he sleeps on and usually during the day watches out the window in the playroom. Get gets first class attention. He belly was so good this morning, made me happy to see him feeling better.

I am glad the pooch's tummy feels better today.  Could he have an allergy to chorine, in the water?  Just thinking
maybe it is not his food?  What type of water does Daycare give him?  Or do you supply your own bottle water?

Heartworm and flea prevention really bother his tummy, so I always know he will have problems with those.

 ::MonkeyEek:: Never thought of plastic, he drinks out of a plastic cup on the way home, the kind that comes from water coolers. He used to have styrofoam, but was getting pimples on his chin so changed from those to plastic.

Flea bites, he is totally allergic to, so I make sure he gets his frontline or whatever it is called.

That sounds wonderful, Cookie!  I love f/b for that reason, especially being a person with a disability.  Life would be worse if we were disconnected.  Now that the storm is coming, I am really hurting.  I went to see my Dad and Mom twice this week, which is just too much for me.

Nothing compared to the high winds we are expecting from Hurricane Irene.

Been a very stressful week. Expecting the high winds tomorrow afternoon through the wee hours of Sunday morning.

We have many trees on and surrounding our home. Very concerned about them. Even cars don't have a safe place away from at least one tree.

*sigh*

This is going to effect so many people.

Sister please stay safe.  I know you are on the east coast..and I am thinking not too far from the shore because of some of the hearings you attended for Christine Sheddy.  Please leave the area if it is in the evac zone....nothing is worth your life.  I have family who are in Ocean City and they are evacuating..atleast they said they would...please be safe everyone..storm surge and winds are going to be high on the coast..even inland.

Please monkeys if you are in the path of the storm, go somewhere else.  It is so not worth it. We have been through tornadoes and hurricanes in Birmingham and the Gulf Coast and it is out of one's hands - it is in Mother Nature's hands.

Successful trip to San Diego.  What a wonderful town - would live there in a heartbeat - the weather was so pleasant, I could walk and be outside all day.  (Unlike home).

4Donks - saw two donkeys in an area called Old Town - thought of you.  I am sure your babies are much prettier, but they were pretty.

Wishing JSM and CC a cruise like no other - just to be together on the water - doing what ever their hearts pleasure is - ahem.

Hubs was in charge of the Criminal and Chubbie while I was gone...late last night he said that the disposal smelled really bad...even though the kitchen was clean...when I went to water the plants in the kitchen corner (that were dying from lack of water), I found several, several piles of you-know-what from the dogs, that had obviously been there for a while...poor mutts...he has to work a long day, and they obviously didn't make it until he got home...the disposal???  for real????  Oh well...I;m back and they seem to have weathered the storm of being home alone all day!!  haha

Hope everyone has a safe and blessed weekend.  Was really tough leaving my son out there, even though he is grown...but not to me. ::MonkeyWink::

Back from our trip to Chi town - oldest is all settled in to college (or so he says, ha!) and the kids and hubs and I had a great time doing the tourist thing.  Glad to be home though!

Morning all...hubs and I are at the lake enjoying some relaxation and sunshine...

I wish I had some bacon!   We have hardly any food in the house!  Grocery shopping today

Has anyone had permanent cosmetics done?  I have a consultation scheduled here for Friday to have permanent eye liner done...a few of my gal pals have had it done and it is beautiful...I wear eye liner everyday so it will be great for me...I am excited...let me know if anyone has experienced it...it is tattooing the liner on...

Just wanted to share this in case anyone loses power.

Lots of people after an extended time without power, leave and stay with someone who does have it. Or if power is out and you have to go to work, be sure to turn off whatever appliances were on when the power went out.

Several house fires have been started by people leaving appliances on here.

One house burned extensively because a hair dryer was being used when the power went out, they never turned it off, and they were not at home when power was restored.

If the power was going to be off for a prolonged time we always flipped off all the circuit breakers and pulled the main one rather than unplugging everything. Paul always worried about power surges.

Thanks 4 donks, Josef did very well while I was away. Little bit of tummy trouble, but he ate so that was a good thing. When I picked him up he went crazy. Just hooked up the trailer to the truck, put air in the tires and checked directional signals and brake lights. Tomorrow will go get 50 square bales of hay and stack them in the barn...I WANT A COLD FRONT !!!!! Although the round bales weigh a lot more you move them with the tractor with a spear. 75lb square bales are moved by hand. Sometimes it would be nice to be younger.  ::rhino::

JSM - I don't know what to tell you except that I couldn't live without an updated Flash.  Many websites and videos utilize Flash.  Your virus protection may be blocking it, I don't know but it's certainly not a problem to have it.  Don't do anything you feel uncomfortable doing.

I have a floor jack but it only lifts a ton and the trailer has a hay load of about 3400 lbs (overloaded) To check the wheel I have to unload the hay by hand and it's in the 90's today. Tomorrow is another day and maybe I'll start unloading at 5 AM before it gets too hot. I don't bale hay..bought it about 20 mi away.

We had a fun trip planned for the long holiday weekend to the Gulf Coast with tons of friends, tons of family and all the dogs and now this silyl tropical rainstorm is hanging over the area.  Some one called us this am and said it is raining sideways down on the AL coast.  We most likely will not go now.  Hubs said that the wind would blow me and the mutts away when we went outside to potty.  (Well, the mutts potty outside - you know what I mean!)  I say we take board games, lots of food and we got a Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville drink maker...beats sitting home in the heat.  I was packed and ready to go last evening and here we sit waiting to see if we can get a weather break.

My Lord..4 Donks..now this is getting out of hand..that's alot of hay for ladies our age to be toting around the barn.  You need to hire a teenage boy to do that kind of work for you..your back ..knees and feet will thank you.

I say this with all respect..I know you are in great shape and love being independent..but God made young men for a reason...they need to work off all that pent up energy.. or even a middle aged man with a forklift would do nicely helping to stack the hay bales in the barn.

I wish there was someone around I could hire but the available men only show up if they need beer money and the young guys are all into sports. I was going to leave the bales on the trailer but then I was concerned that all that weight on the wheel with the blown tire would bend the rim if I left it loaded. I think the 25 I took off and stacked will take the weight off that wheel. Plan on leaving the rest of the hay on the trailer. Most of the hay I buy is in the 6' round bales but they are moved with the tractor. I have a spear on the 3 point on the back and a spear on the bucket on the front. A child can move those things with the tractor. I really do use the equipment if at all possible to save the old body.  ::MonkeyCool::

Glad to hear our knee is feeling better. We are expecting TS Lee to start affecting us tomorrow evening so the Labour Day cookout is cancelled. I don't like to leave the dogs alone if it is storming.(even though the thunder vests work). Will be forced to stay in and rest. Only the barn and donks need me to go out. They are predicting 6"-10" of rain with some areas getting more.I hope this helps with the drought and doesn't just run off. If we are getting it you won't be far behind. REST that knee.....

I had a tornado touch down about 5 mi.s from me but these ones just touch down briefly...all damage occurred within 1/4 mi. Highway blocked with downed trees, roof off a barn and brick facing off the side of a building. These aren't the huge ones like we had in April. Rain  and flash flooding are the big problem. I'm not having a problem but low lying areas are flooded and a lot of county roads are closed. Donks and dogs hate it. ::dogwag::

For the first time since late May I think I speak for all of us North Texans, weather is fabulous today.  Hasn't gotten above 80 degrees and I keep turning the A/C off and ready to dig out the longjohns, supposed to be 54 here tonight........brrrrrrrr........

So sorry to everyone that are getting the terrible storms, we could really use the rain here especially down in the Austin area.  I have a friend that lives in the fire area and so far they haven't had to leave.  They've packed their treasures and have the cat carriers out just in case, last I heard firewall was about 10 miles south of them.  Sad they just finished building their retirement/dream home.

Sad day here - the time has come to put our kitty down. We should have probably done it a while ago but she did not seem to be in pain until yesterday. She is about 12 years old and came to us as a rescue from my ex who was going to dump her because he became tired of her. She is so sweet and calm. I really hoped that she would die peacefully in her sleep but that is not to be. 5 year old does not under stand even though I tried to explain it. Tomorrow is the first day of school for him too. Should be a trying day here.  ::MonkeyWaa::

I know that you know you are doing the right thing, taking the pain away from your kitty, but that is little solace to losing her.

Thanks guys. Sitting here looking at her tonight I keep second guessing myself. But in my head I know it is time - my heart does not seem to be listening. But I know she has had a good life and all good things must end. I will be glad when it is over so I can just remember her happy and not like she is today. Add to it I am sending the little one (last one!) off to his first day of school tomorrow and I am just having a pity party here!

My son's family is taking their bull dog to the vet tomorrow to see if she needs to be put down..she has a terrible odor about her and is throwing up weird looking stuff and has diarrhea...She is 13 and way past the age for bull dogs to live I guess...it just might be time..sad...

Happy news in my household - 2 Weeks ago our precious Callie cat disappeared, she was a stay close to home and rarely left my son's side.....He didn't sleep the first couple days just sat out in the heat and called for her.  I went to the few neighbors asking them to check their sheds and barns but nothing.

So finally after over a week we resigned ourselves to the fact a coyote or whatever had gotten her.

Well the other night I was getting ready for bed, just turning off the puter there was such a fuss behind me......kittens and cats (we have 20) at least 10 of them were all talking and making  so much noise I looked down and the loudest one was our Callie, sitting among her sisters, cousins and her Mama.  She just looked up at me with I swear the prettiest smile...I just screamed her name, my son came running, woke hubby up and by the time all had calmed down I beleive everyone of our cats were gathered in the living room "talking' at once!!!  She'd been gone 13 days......

Anyway she was in fairly good shape a bit thin but just so happy to be home......all is back to normal although our Callie is pretty much a stay in the house girl who has to be with one of us at all times.......

Ah..where I am is under seige from the rains and wind.  Flooding everywhere with roads closed.  My family and grandchildren are here, they were either able to come home or school was canceled..but some schools closed earlier today..and by closed I mean during school they said they were closing but all children needed to remain in school..no bus service..the flooding is that bad.  I am praying for those little children having to spend the night at school..safe and sound with their friends and teachers..but I am sure afraid since this is not the norm...even in bad snow storms the children either don't go to school or get released early. Today the flooding was so bad they had to remain at school.

I am praying for all families that can not be togather tonight ..peace be with them.

where are you located at Gypsy? those little kids must be confused that they can't come home..imagine how the parents must feel that they can't get to their children...

Good morning all -- prayers for all and those in harms way too.
Taking my Mom to the doctor as she may have pneumonia and is having difficulty breathing.  She is 86 and it really scares her.

Morning Monkeys!!!! Prayers for all in need. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Had dinner with my skating coaches and a skater from France that is here (one of the coaches husband does his choreography) very cute kid (he's 22), polite, down to earth and even let my friend and I decide on his costume design (he is skating to the Jungle Book music).

Yes, she is going to the doctor this afternoon.  I will probably spend the night with her.  She has a lot of breathing difficulties and yesterday was outside trimming a bush (like she needed to do that :>) and lost her breath.  Lots of spitting up junk (I won't be graphic).  She has a hard time hearing so I will go in with her to make sure everything is ok and she just needs medications.

Please pray for Alice Davis -- she is missing and yesterday her husband killed himself.
I am friends with her sister, the former mayor of Salisbury.

Why was she trimming the bushes?  I asked the same thing . . . "I wanted to get some exercise" . . . to which I told her, take your walker and walk around the driveway, it's paved, etc.  I know where I get my hard-headedness from . . .

Good Morning JSM Monkey friends...I want to update everyone on Oscar.  Radiologist report is in - good news - nothing too serious.  Possible allergies or asthma.  He is doing fine today and we aren't going to treat him at this time.  I will just keep a close watch.  Thank you all for being here for us - it really meant so much to me.   ::MonkeyKiss::
