Gonzalez’s attorneys told reporters they intended to file a video and transcript of deposition with the court on Tuesday and make it available to the public, but Anthony’s civil attorney, Charles Greene, then notified them that he planned to file an emergency motion to seal the video.

Judge Lisa Munyon had ordered Gonzalez’s attorneys to give Greene at least two days notice before filing the transcript to allow him to submit such a motion. On Wednesday, Greene filed an objection to the proposed filing of the transcript, stating that a motion to determine the confidentiality of the deposition would be filed “immediately hereafter.”

That motion had not appeared on the court docket yet on Wednesday night, but Greene stated in his objection that Gonzalez’s attorneys had “no proper legal basis” to file the transcript and videotape of the deposition.

“Plaintiff is abusing the discovery process for purposes of inflaming pre-trial public publicity against the Defendant,” Greene wrote. He also alleged that the filing of the video and transcript could cause “irreparable harm” to Anthony because of the possibility that it will be “leaked” before the judge rules on whether to seal it.

In their response, Gonzalez’s attorneys stated that they informed Greene of their intent to file the deposition transcript on October 6, but they agreed to wait until the week of October 17 to do so because Greene would be on vacation until then.

The plaintiff’s attorneys wrote that it was necessary to file the deposition in order to have the court rule on whether Anthony has the right to refuse to answer their questions. They believe Anthony has no Fifth Amendment privilege under these circumstances.

Judge Munyon set a hearing on the matter for 3:30 pm on Thursday.

Thursday's hearing, scheduled for 3:30 p.m., comes one day after a civil judge refused to dismiss another lawsuit against Casey from Texas Equusearch, which is seeking more than $100,000 the group said it spent on the search for Caylee, all while they claim Casey knew her daughter was dead.

"And now they go forward and say, 'Casey told me Caylee was alive, and I believed her,'" said Greene after Wednesday's hearing. "This is a publicity stunt, plain and simple. It's atrocious it has gone this far."

Casey Anthony was not at Wednesday's hearing, and is not expected to attend Thursday's. She has been out of jail for more than three months, but her exact whereabouts remain a mystery.

Attorneys in the Zenaida Gonzalez civil suit against Casey Anthony are heading to court this afternoon to argue over whether a transcript and video of Anthony's deposition earlier this month should be released and included in the public record.

Anthony's attorney, Charles Greene, wants to block the release of the deposition, arguing the other side is "abusing the discovery process for purposes of inflaming pre-trial publicity" against Anthony.

"There is no proper legal basis for the filing of the transcript and the videotape," Greene stated in his objection to the opposing side's efforts to file those items in court records.

But Gonzalez attorney John Morgan has argued in his court papers that during Anthony's Oct. 8 deposition her lawyer "asserted his client's Fifth Amendment rights and instructed her not to answer the majority of questions."

Morgan wrote that he wants to "compel these answers as no valid privilege exists." Filing the deposition is necessary for the court to rule on the matter, Morgan argues.

Did anyone actually see and hear the hearing?  Things got heated....I love to watch JM when he gets riled up. I also love that he said it like it is.....Casey thinks she's special, etc.  It's time to treat her just like any non celebrity citizen, which is what she is.

It just hit me why they had her in disguise for the deposition, they were covering their bases in case the depo. video is released.  With her in disguise they can market her interview (if they can ever sucker anyone into paying what they ask) as the 1st time she's been seen since her release.

At a hearing on the matter Thursday, Morgan argued that if the deposition were sealed, Anthony would be receiving special treatment.

"We want her to be treated no better and no worse than anyone else in Orange County," he said.

Morgan argued that he represents other clients that have never had their depositions sealed.

Munyon said she would rule on the matter within 10 days.

I'd like to thank all of you kind monkeys for the links, tweets and pics in regard to releasing the deposition.  I had to run out.  But then I had the feeling there would be delays and we wouldn't get a decision today.   Anyone else surprised?  It's really tiresome that Casey continues to receive preferential treatment in the courts.  JMHO  ::MonkeyMad:: I see Jim Lichtenstein was present.   I'm wondering if he needs a twelve step program to help him with his Casey Anthony addiction?   ::MonkeyTongue::  What was that he said about moving on?

Thanks Trimm!  I couldn't  believe Greene, on Casey's behalf, said...We aren't seeking money.  WTH??  I guess they want to, but know that just won't float.  Morgan was good at pointing out Baez's NYC trip and BW and why he was there.   (Although, I'm pretty sure John Morgan could dine at that Italian restaurant any time he wants to......or any restaurant for that matter.  I just got a chuckle out of him saying that.  ::MonkeyHaHa:: )  Bottom line, though, her special treatment needed to end back on June 16, 2008, as far as I'm concerned. Morgan's points on that should be all the Judge needs to be reminded of.  Let the video be released!

Gonzalez's attorney, John Morgan, argued on Thursday that Anthony should not be given special treatment and the video should remain unsealed. Morgan also noted that by releasing the video to the public, Anthony stands to make less money if and when she decides to sell her story.

Anthony never specifically identified this woman, and during her murder trial in Caylee's death earlier this year, Anthony's defense team claimed Caylee was never kidnapped, and had drowned in the family pool.

Anthony was found not guilty of murdering Caylee and is currently serving one year of probation on an unrelated check fraud conviction.

Anthony remained silent because she is still appealing her conviction on four counts of lying to law enforcement in the investigation into her daughter's disappearance.

Anthony's lead attorney Charles Greene was not present on Thursday after a boxing match in the morning hurt his front teeth. She was represented by one of the co-counsels in the case.  ::MonkeyDevil::

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a judge ruled that another lawsuit against Anthony, filed by search group Texas Equusearch, could go forward. The search group said it wasted thousands of dollars searching for Caylee when Anthony already knew where she was -- her body dumped in a wooded area near the Anthony family home in East Orange County.

Does anyone know how long it's going to take to have the appeal heard on the crimes the murderer was convicted of.....lying?  I hope it's sooner than later, because the appeal seems to be holding up the other cases. How long is this going to be drawn out?  I don't even understand why it's being appealed, other than it's her constitutional right. But come on.....there is no doubt that she lied.

Unfortunately not true. She paraded around in Ohio, shopping, walking openly alone, on sidewalks, in and out of stores, etc. I do, however, believe her disguise might be used to cover up any physical changes that may have been made to hide her identity. These might be changes in hair color, length and style. One other consideration might be that KC and the greedy dufense team do not want ANYone proifting from photos not explicitly released by them. IMO

One more thing. After that "in your face", bold, gesture in Ohio, as far as I am concerned, it negates the cry wolf argument of "we fear for our client's safety."  Apparently they really fear nothing. And I am sick of them lying to the courts "We fear for the safety of our client." If that were true, they would have talked KC out of the caper in Ohio, instead of talking her into it.

As John Morgan stated so eloquently in court yesterday, "it's ALL about the money."

Casey Anthony's civil attorneys are fighting the release of a deposition video that shows Anthony in a disguise.

One of Anthony's attorneys Charles Greene called in to In Session Friday and said the tape could cause harm to his client by creating more pre-trial publicity.

A judge didn't make a ruling Thursday on whether she'll release Anthony's deposition video in her defamation case.  Instead, she'll release a written ruling in the next ten days.

I wouldn't say anything.  I'd just spit on her.  I've never spit on a human being before, but for her, I'd make an exception.

I'm still rather numb at the outcome of this whole case but every once in awhile I'm startled when I realize that she really did get away with murder.  Obviously I'm always aware of this fact, but sometimes it just slaps me in the face out of nowhere.   ::boxingcasey2:: ::boxingcasey2::

The honchos at NBC -- the C stands for crafty -- think they figured out a way to snag an interview with Casey Anthony without paying a red cent, and make her a wealthy woman at the same time.

We've learned an NBC news producer has reached out to people in the literary world, trying to score a book deal for Anthony. The producer has contacted literary agents and others, telling them if he scored a book deal for Casey, she'd give the network a 1-hour, primetime special ... portions of which would also run on "Today."

The producer makes it clear -- NBC couldn't pay a cent for the interview.  But he is gung-ho about the book deal, even representing that Casey wants up front money.

Jose Baez, Casey's lawyer, tells TMZ ... he has full knowledge of the producer's efforts, but says, "I'm not involved in that process. I did not entice him to do it."

Baez was quick to add, "Casey is not ready to do an interview."

We tried multiple times to get a comment from NBC -- so far, no luck.

Now the stage is set for all of the jurors’ identities to be released to the public under Florida’s sweeping Public Records Law. And that has many—from Chief Judge Belvin Perry, who presided over the Anthony trial, to members of the jury—afraid the “Justice for Caylee” forces will launch a vigilante campaign against them.

Ordinarily in the Sunshine State, jurors’ names are automatically released to the public soon after the verdict. But as Judge Perry wrote after the Anthony decision, “It is clear, the jurors in this case face the possibility of substantial injury if their names are immediately made public.” The judge allowed the media a hearing on the immediate release of the names but he then took the extraordinary step of declaring a three-month “cooling-off period” to let the angry anti-jury passions die down. That hiatus expires Oct. 25.

Since the verdict, some of the most active cyberwarriors have focused on making sure Casey Anthony never makes money by selling her story. Whenever a rumor spreads that a television network or book publisher is considering making a deal with her, the calls for letter-writing campaigns and network and sponsor boycotts begin anew. The morning programs on NBC and ABC have been the bidders most often mentioned for an Anthony interview.

Just last week a Facebook note by Holly Briley, a Florida housewife who says she has a “little birdie” within NBC, riled the faithful:

“I have just been told by a very inside little birdie that the NBC Today show has worked out a deal to interview Casey Anthony…NBC WILL BE PAYING FOR THIS INTERVIEW. The payment will be handled through a third party. The third party will pay Casey and then in turn NBC will pay the third party. This way they figure they can honestly say they indeed did not pay her. Semantics people. A payment is a payment. While NBC admits they are afraid of backlash, they want to continue on to do this by making it a two-part interview. The first part would be written, and the party that writes the story would also help shoulder the payment and the backlash. The second half of the interview would be the televised portion. Just in time for November sweeps.”

In follow-up Facebook notes, Briley wrote that the deal had fallen apart and that NBC was ready to pony up “right around 2 million dollars” on its own.

A. “I think my analysis was dead on and the jury’s wasn’t. But I accept it and move on from it. I think that, in retrospect, if the prosecution had to do it over again, they would have emphasized her behavior for 31 days and less the forensic evidence, which was apparently too complex for the jury. With that said, I think the state overall did a great job.

“I did get a small measure of criticism from a couple of people: How could I have taken a pro-prosecution stand when I’m a defense attorney? If I’m not providing the defense, I can comment. Who’s going to support crime?

“I wanted Casey Anthony to have the best defense team, but I thought the evidence was very strong against her. The jury consultant on the defense team is the unsung hero of that whole defense team. The choosing of that jury in light of this evidence was masterful as it pertains to the jury consultant. That made a believer out of me in jury consultants. I’ve never used a jury consultant. But in the future if I have the right case, I would use a jury consultant on the right case.”

My look back at the local TV analysts on the Casey Anthony case continues with Richard Hornsby. The Orlando attorney was a forceful presence on WESH-Channel 2, and he has very mixed things to say about Anthony attorney Jose Baez.

Q. Why did you want to do the analysis?

A. “Originally the reason I wanted to do analysis was that most lawyers who get on TV didn’t know what they were talking about or were inaccurate. I felt I kept all of the local analysts honest, because of my willingness to point out when other analysts were simply wrong.

“Second, my interest in the case continued because I felt Jose Baez was misrepresenting the profession. The things he was doing perpetuated the stereotype of the criminal defense attorney as an untrustworthy person. I thought it was a great chance to give analysis that explained legal issues in a practical way. Some people made things more salacious than they were. It was a great opportunity to educate the public about what was going on. As it went on, the defense team was a mockery of what a criminal defense should be.”

Q. What did you get from the experience?

A. “I got a lot of crazy people calling me. I got an insight into how the media work. For all the good the media can do, you see the way resources can be wasted on people like Casey Anthony. You see what feeds the public’s appetite. My life is now back to normal. I got a lot of exposure, from a business standpoint. The exposure during the trial, that’s something I’ll never forget. Overall, I think the case was like living in a Jerry Springer episode for three years.”

Q. What was the most memorable moment for you?

A. “The verdict. I never thought she would walk in a million years. That’s one thing I’ll give Jose Baez credit. I think he did a good job overall. The pretrial preparation, the buildup to the trial itself, I thought it was an abomination of how a defense case should be handled, prepared, advanced. Once he got in the trial, he did a good job.

Perry issued an order soon after the verdict, stating that he had the authority to protect the safety and well-being of the jurors "by imposing a 'cooling off' period."

In that order, Perry said some jurors reported being threatened and expressed that they felt like "prisoners in their own homes."

Perry's order allows the Pinellas County Clerk's Office to release the names Tuesday. The names of jurors plus the alternates will be released, except three people who already stepped forward and spoke to certain media outlets.

Apparently, executives and producers at NBC have been reaching out to people in the literary world, trying to score a book deal for Anthony. One producer, who has contacted numerous agents, is saying that if he can score a book deal for Casey, she'll give the network a one-hour, primetime special, with some portions running on Today. However, he's standing his ground, gosh darn it, and he won't cough up a red cent to the accused murderer. Buuut, he is letting people know that Casey wants the money up front. And you thought integrity in journalism was dead.

If this bass-ackwards, cockamamie deal goes through -- and eventually one will -- we all lose. We all lose because it shows how we're still a nation where even the most horrible, vilified person is treated like a celebrity, as long as they can make someone money. I thought the original intent of not paying Casey Anthony for an interview was because she's a woman accused of murdering her child. She doesn't deserve money -- whether she did it or not. But I guess the real intent for yanking the pay offers off the table was so the networks didn't seem like they were the kind of folk who would throw money at a woman accused of murdering her child.

NBC may not be writing a check out directly to Casey Anthony, if this book deal/interview comes to fruition, but they're still paying her -- no matter how hard they try to make it seem otherwise.

Will Casey Anthony Jurors’ Names Be Released Tuesday?

The names of the jurors in Casey Anthony’s murder trial could be released as early as Tuesday.

Court administration “may release the names only of the fourteen seated jurors who have not already voluntarily released their names in this matter, on or after October 25, 2011,” Judge Belvin Perry ruled on July 26.

Two of the five alternate jurors voluntarily revealed their identities after the not guilty verdict was announced, and one of the twelve who participated in deliberations allowed her name to be released when she did media interviews about the decision. A few others, including the jury foreman, have given interviews but remained anonymous.

The few jurors who have spoken out have all given similar reasons for finding Anthony not guilty of murder, manslaughter and aggravated child abuse in her daughter Caylee’s death, and most of their comments reflect a feeling that prosecutors failed to prove the case against Anthony beyond a reasonable doubt. The jury did convict her of four counts of lying to law enforcement.

The jury foreman told Fox News that jurors did not trust George Anthony and that the evidence involving duct tape, chloroform and decomposition in Anthony’s trunk simply was not convincing enough. “You don’t know who put the body in the trunk or how it ended up there,” he said.

Juror #3 told ABC News that she did not think Anthony was innocent, but she did not believe there was enough evidence to convict her. She said jurors were “sick to their stomachs” over the decision.

“Generally, none of us liked Casey Anthony at all,” one male juror told People Magazine in August. “She seems like a horrible person. But the prosecution did not give us enough evidence to convict. They gave us a lot of stuff that makes us think that she probably did something wrong, but not beyond a reasonable doubt.”

That juror said he lived in fear of being identified, checking the internet daily to see if anybody figured out who he was. He also said that, knowing the additional information about the case that he learned after the trial but was not presented in court, he would probably have voted to convict Anthony of manslaughter.

The Orlando attorney says that perception is not in tune with reality. She was a down-to-earth but effervescent analyst on Fox-owned WOFL-Channel 35, and she has been commenting on national programs. But she adds, “I’m not going to quit my day job. I really love my job.”

Even so, she continues to pop up on television. She explains with a laugh: “If Casey Anthony’s name gets mentioned in any way, we have to talk. It was fun, and now it’s back to work.”

She agreed to look back at the case and what the experience meant to her.

“I think there are lot of people curious about how our system worked and were educated in some ways. I think there were a lot of people who got something edifying out of it beyond the circus side of it. There was a layer of people in it for voyeuristic purposes. But people were watching and saying it was a trial and it was fascinating. They got to see legal arguments being made. They saw one of our best jurists. Judge [Belvin] Perry gets to have the kudos of the public. He didn’t play favorites and he was on the ball.

“It has to be about the system. This system is sacred. I know people who have been wrongfully accused who could have been easily convicted.”

The names of the jury who found Casey Anthony not guilty of first-degree murder will be released Tuesday.

In July, Judge Belvin Perry ordered the names of the 12-person jury be sealed due to the high-profile case. He called it a "cooling off" period. That period expires on Oct. 25.

After the not-so-popular verdict came out, two jurors (an alternate and a juror) talked to the media. Others agreed to talk only if their identities were hidden.

Reports show one woman retired from Publix early, and fled the state fearing for her safety.

Yes it's been there since before her arrest in 2008. KC soon after her release in July 2011 posted new album with pix of her & Caylee. She has since deleted the album, after about 1 week. She was chatting on that "Slide.com website" Once word got out she was chatting thru the site, the ugly comments were getting ugly. She deleted the album, the comments, & the chat conversations. Said she was going to set up a private chat somewhere. I wasn't interested in following her to chat.

The names of the jurors who determined Casey Anthony's fate when they found her not guilty of first-degree murder this past summer have been revealed.

But even with their identities revealed, there may remain one big, lingering question: Why did they reach the verdict that they did?

None of the jurors — all Pinellas County residents — is obligated to talk to the media about the six weeks they spent serving on Anthony's trial in Orlando.

The jurors are Joan Meier, Raymond Screen, Linda Bills, Harriet White, Brian Berling, Kimberly Kimball, Kathleen Nighland, James Kearns, Ronald Robertson, David Angelo and Mary Fuhr. Alternate jurors whose names were not previously released are Elizabeth Jones and Heather Feuerhake.

Two alternate jurors and one juror already voluntarily revealed their identities publicly.

"There have been no complaints or concerns from jurors that we've been made aware of," said Cecilia Barreda, spokeswoman with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, on Monday.

Yet, she added, "There's a general awareness on the part of our deputies…We'll be addressing the matter, as needed, following the release of those names."

If the past is any guide, the local and national media organizations that gave the case so much attention before will likely seek out those jurors now.

Susan Constantine, a jury consultant and body language expert who carefully watched the trial and appeared on national television with commentary, anticipates that certain jurors will speak.

"I do think that some of them are going to want to come forward and talk so they can tell their side of the story," Constantine said.

She noted juror 11, a male juror who works as a high school physical education teacher and appeared engaged throughout the trial, will likely speak because he was probably the most expressive of the jurors – through his body language -- during the trial.

The willingness of at least some jurors to speak openly about the trial would help resolve an outcome that Constantine said left her and many others "perplexed."

"We want to understand," she said. "We want to make sense of their decision-making."

While Constantine is as eager as anyone in the media who covered the case to hear what the jurors will say, she is concerned about the release of their names and their safety as well.

Some in the public, she said, "have taken this case and personalized it."

She added, "We've got a lot of kooks out there."

T. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — A court released the names of the jurors in the Casey Anthony trial for the first time since they acquitted the Florida woman of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

The "cooling off" period a Florida judge cited in delaying the release for three months ended Tuesday, and the names of 12 jurors and three alternates were released by the Pinellas County Clerk of Court.

After the trial ended in July, Judge Belvin Perry said he wanted some time to pass before the names were made public because some of the jurors had received death threats.

The names of the jurors who determined Casey Anthony's fate when they found her not guilty of first-degree murder this past summer were revealed this morning.

But even with their identities revealed, there may remain one big, lingering question: Why did they reach the verdict that they did?

None of the jurors — all Pinellas County residents — is obligated to talk to the media about the six weeks they spent serving on Anthony's trial in Orlando.
The jurors are Joan Meier, Raymond Screen, Linda Bills, Harriet White, Brian Berling, Kimberly Kimball, Kathleen Nighland, James Kearns, Ronald Robertson, David Angelo, Mary Fuhr and Jennifer Ford.

Alternate jurors whose names were not previously released are Elizabeth Jones and Heather Feuerhake.

Alternate jurors Dean Edward Eckstadt and Russell William Huekler already voluntarily revealed their identities publicly.

The panel already turned down one opportunity to speak to the media collectively.

Juror identities are usually released in Florida after a verdict is rendered.

But, in Anthony's high-profile case, Orange-Osceola Chief Judge Belvin Perry postponed the release of the juror names for three months as a "cooling off" period.

In his July 26 order, Perry expressed significant concern over the safety of the jurors, noting that they "returned a verdict which was not viewed in a popular light by a large segment of the public."

I worked with a Mary Fuhr in Pinellas County at an animal boarding facility. I hope we see pics of these folks, so I can tell if it's her or not. She was fired because she withheld info on her application that she had spent time in jail. I don't know what her crime was tho.  I'll have to wait to see, I guess.

I just noticed that I spent 11 days, 18 hours and 7 min, reading and discussing the Casey Anthony case and I was not a member of the jury. Why are only non-jury members interested in justice for sweet little Caylee Anthony?

If the jurors followed Judge Perry's instructions and admonitions, jury members ONLY discussed the case, including evidence presented in trial, AFTER the trial ended and before the verdict was reached, then the collective time spent by jurors, discussing the case, rests somewhere between the time it takes to have a long lunch and watching a movie.

I wonder what the collective time is for reading and discussing the case by every person interested enough to be on Scared Monkeys?

Time sometimes has a way of fogging the memory. Not mine. I will never forget the injustice done in this case and I will do whatever I can to ensure it does not happen again. It is time to leash the lawyers and make them accountable.

Wish there was a way to legally and publicly discredit every one of these jurors. They are a discredit to children everywhere in the world.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Court officials released the names of jurors from Casey Anthony's first-degree murder trial Tuesday morning.

At about 7:45 a.m., an email from a court official listed each juror's seat number, juror number and name.

A visit to the homes of most of the jurors got no answer. At another, a voice behind the door made it clear they wouldn't speak.

"Go away, please," a resident said.

A man who lives two doors away from Juror No. 2 said he bears no ill will toward his neighbor nor his not-guilty verdict.

Michigan is joining other states considering laws that require prompt reporting of missing children.

A bill approved Tuesday in the Michigan Senate by a 35-0 vote comes after the acquittal of Casey Anthony in the death of her daughter, Caylee, in Florida. The child was not reported as missing for about a month after her disappearance in 2008.

Reporters for The Associated Press knocked on doors Tuesday at homes where the jurors were thought to live.

The husband of alternate juror Elizabeth Jones answered the door at their home. He said she was at work. "I'll leave your card with the pile here," Mike Jones said. "But I don't think she is going to want to talk." He added that since she didn't deliberate, "she doesn't have a whole lot to say."

In most cases, the blinds or drapes were closed and no one answered. Dogs could be heard barking inside some of the homes.

At another home, a woman who answered the door said the juror doesn't live there.

Anthony was released from jail a couple of weeks after the trial ended. She is now serving probation on an unrelated check fraud charge at an undisclosed location in Florida.

She was deposed earlier in October for a civil lawsuit that accuses her of ruining another woman's reputation. Anthony told detectives in 2008 that her daughter had been kidnapped by a nanny named Zenaida Gonzalez. The child's body was later found in a wooded area not from the Anthony's home in Orlando.

Detectives have said no such baby sitter existed. But there is an Orlando woman named Zenaida Gonzalez and she sued Anthony over the name confusion.

In all, 17 jurors were seated for the trial. Anthony was found not guilty of charges in connection with Caylee Anthony's death, but she was found guilty of four counts of lying to investigators.

The jury acquitted Anthony of murder, manslaughter and aggravated child abuse for her daughter Caylee’s 2008 death. They found her guilty on four counts of lying to law enforcement officers.

Because of media coverage surrounding the case, jurors were selected from Pinellas County in May and brought to Orange County, where they were sequestered throughout the six-week trial. Since the verdict was announced, one juror and two alternates have identified themselves in media interviews. A few others have spoken anonymously.

The jury foreman declined to be interviewed at this time when contacted by a Nancy Grace producer on Tuesday, but he said the jury did what they could based on the evidence presented and he was surprised by the backlash against the verdict.

None of the other jurors had returned phone calls from producers late Tuesday morning. According to the Associated Press, most of jurors had their blinds or drapes closed and did not answer when reporters knocked on their doors

The jurors, their function and their names, were never intended to be secret. The point of a PUBLIC trial is that the PUBLIC knows what is going on to insure justice is done fairly. Unfortunately, this jury did not get that memo and have announced to the world that killing your kid who you have no clue about the dad of because you are a slut is fine. Every person in this world has to be held accountable for their decisions - the jurors included.

People are still upset about this verdict. proof to me is that "casey anthony jurors" has been the top search on yahoo today all day. Im sorry, people keep saying that they just want to hear these jurors explain why they came to their verdict, but i cant see that making  a difference for me. We saw EVERYTHING they saw and every minute of that trial too. I also find it interesting that the foreman thought she was guilty going in and changed his mind because George seemed shady. Really?
On another note, i wish GA would file a wrongful death suit against tramp. I can dream cant i?

Orlando attorney Mark O’Mara provided analysis for WKMG-Channel 6 during the Casey Anthony trial. He has concerns about precedents set by legal analysts in that high-profile case.

“You need to be very careful to be impartial,” O’Mara said. “If there’s a criticism of all of us, it’s so easy to slant toward a side. I’ve drafted a Bar rule on lawyers commenting on cases, because we don’t have one.”

He hopes the rule will be discussed Thursday at an Orange County Bar Association seminar about ethics and the Anthony case. The event is scheduled to feature Jeff Ashton and Linda Drane Burdick of the prosecution and Cheney Mason of the defense. Anthony was acquitted of murder in July in the 2008 death of her daughter, Caylee.

“One lesson I learned, it was too easy for the commentators to become biased or advocates for a position. That’s not what legal analysts should be doing,” O’Mara said. “I saw bias going against Jose Baez and the defense. The bias was in favor of the state.”

On Tuesday, the day Orange County officials released the names of the jurors who had been previously unnamed, McClure told WESH 2 News sentiment has changed.

"I don't think they have anything to worry about, to tell you the truth. It's over and done with. It's all on Casey Anthony now," he said.

The names were released nearly four months after the verdict. Judge Belvin Perry deemed that a "cooling off period" was needed before their release.

"It was real hot and heavy through July and August," McClure said Tuesday. "Now we're here in October and it's cooled down quite a bit."

"So, the jurors are welcomed here now?" asked WESH 2's Bob Kealing.

"Why not, I'm a nice guy," McClure said.

Hi Desi!  Thanks for the juror info. That Mary Fuhr is too young to be the person I knew.  I was hoping I didn't know any of them, and I don't.

We will never know the truth about the important things in this case....not from Casey and not from the jurors, imo.  Not that is does any good, be we all do know enough truth to know that a baby murderer walks our streets......with our children and grandchildren, because 12 people didn't do the job as instructed.   They couldn't be bothered. I feel that way because they were cowards and fled back to Pinellas County. They couldn't stand behind their decision, not even as a group.

I really wish i could get over the bitterness, but 4 months just aint doing it!

It's so hard not to be bitter, isn't it?  I've struggled with this since that awful July day too, and I'm sure many legions have as well.  There are no doubt a huge number of people 'out there' (maybe 89% or so, wink-wink?) who feel the same as we do.

Kissimee, Florida - Jose Baez was notorious during the Casey Anthony trial for two things: fiercely protecting his client and saying very little to the media.

The lead defense attorney on the high-profile case would walk briskly into the Orange County Courthouse each day, briefcase in hand, and give a quick smile to anxious reporters.

Three months later, Baez broke his silence by coming out today and speaking firsthand with only one television station in the Bay area, WTSP-TV.

Baez said he wished he could reach out to the Pinellas jurors personally, but it would be an ethics violation. After the jurors' names were released Tuesday morning, Baez admonished members of the media for seeking out the men and women who served on the case.

Baez was on his way to Harvard Law School on Tuesday night to speak with students. Before he left, he was asked if he read reports online about his client.  He joked, "The only thing I pay attention to online is news about the Seminoles and the Yankees."

And, as far as the safety of the jurors, he said, "I wish I could buy all of them pit bulls. They deserve to be safe. I don't want this to stop anyone from wanting to serve on a jury in the future."

Almost four months ago, the jury in the trial of Casey Anthony found her not guilty of murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child — and the jurors have paid for it ever since.

They have paid for it at the hands of pundits and so-called veteran court watchers, who have relentlessly denounced the verdict and the jurors. It is no surprise that only three of the 17 jurors and alternate jurors had chosen to identify themselves before all the names were released on Tuesday. The media-fueled backlash had left them with little choice but to remain anonymous.

What we have witnessed in these four months is an assault on a jury of our peers who answered the call and endured severe hardships in doing so.

They listened closely to all of the facts. They followed the instructions, which were given to them with respect to the law, and in the end, they applied the facts to the law in a struggle to determine whether the prosecution had proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt. We all know the conclusion this jury reached, and I applaud the jurors for it. Not simply because I believe justice was done in the case of Casey Anthony, but because I believe they upheld the highest precepts of our judicial system.

Oh s**t the only thing these idiots endured was worrying about missing their planned vacations.  IMO they all lived better and ate better than they had in their entire miserable lives.  Nice place to live, maid service, catered meals, eating in best restaurants in Orlando, dessert delivered every afternoon. A judge who catered to their every whim.  They never had it so good.  What a waste of money. They should have been put in the local Motel 8 and fed Burger King.

I think he already reached out to them...........during the trial!

We have a constitutional right to express our opinions and the jurors have a right to decline to speak.

However, in all of the one-sided coverage of the "sainted" jury, why is there never a mention of the juror whose first act was to hire an agent and demand $50,000 for an interview?  It's also fair commentary to analyze what the jury did-- and did NOT- do to reach the absurd verdict.

If the system cannot learn from its mistakes, we are doomed to repeat them!

In that vein, and to state the obvious, Bozo perpetrated FRAUD after FRAUD on the process. If THAT grotesque abuse of the system isn't also addressed, we have lost a significant opportunity to address the ability of a WHOLLY UNETHICAL so-called attorney to thwart justice.

Deen, a veteran attorney who worked for WESH-Channel 2, repeatedly said the case wasn’t a slam dunk for the prosecution. He turned out to be right when Anthony was acquitted in July of murder in the 2008 death of her daughter, Caylee.

Deen serves as regional conflict counsel for the state and oversees lawyers representing indigent criminal defendants in Central Florida. I talked to him recently about his memories of the case and the coverage.

The result was a media firestorm. Fearing for their wellbeing, Perry kept the jurors' names sealed for a "cooling off" period. That ended Tuesday. Several media outlets, however, mistook a St. Petersburg woman for Juror No. 5. She called the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office to complain.

"She was a little bit concerned and a little bit distraught about the media attention she was getting," said sheriff's spokesman Cecilia Barreda.

The Sheriff's Office and the St. Petersburg Police Department say they've kept a closer watch on the jurors since the verdict. But the agencies say the jurors have not complained to them about any threats or harassment.

Only three jurors spoke out after the verdict: Jennifer Ford, Juror No. 3, spoke to ABC News; Juror No. 2 spoke anonymously to the St. Petersburg Times; and the foreman, Juror No. 11, was interviewed anonymously by On The Record with Greta Van Susteren.

The Times reached out to all 12 jurors on Tuesday. Those who could be reached declined to comment.

The Times fought to get the juror names released.

But Clark says whether we agree or disagree with the verdict, it's time to move on.

"Leave them alone. If you think they made a mistake, that is your right, you can express it," Clark said.

And a lot of people did express opinions on Facebook. Someone even posted the names and address of the jurors.

Teresa Lemmenes served as a juror in an unrelated case in Pinellas County, and had no idea her name or any other juror for that matter, was public record.

"I don't think they should be able to do that. I don't think it's safe for the people," Lemmenes said.

Former Hillsborough State Prosecutor Frances Perrone says she's never heard of a juror being injured or harmed following a trial. But she does worry the jury backlash in the Anthony case will have a chilling effect for future jurors.

"No juror should ever feel their safety is at issue, and I don't that's been the case for generations," Perrone said.

Associated Press reporters went to the homes where jurors were thought to live, but in most cases, the blinds or drapes were closed and no one answered. Dogs could be heard barking inside some of the homes. When someone did come to the door, they said the juror didn't want to speak or in one case, said the juror didn't live there.

"The jurors have known that this day would be coming for a long time. They've had plenty of time to think about it," said Tampa defense attorney John Fitzgibbons, who was not involved in the Anthony case. "It may simply be that the jurors want to move on from this case. Or it could be some sort of collective decision by the jurors if they are working on something else jointly."

Fearing for their safety, Judge Belvin Perry delayed releasing their names, saying he wanted a "cooling off period" to pass. It may have worked. Vitriolic comments popped up online Tuesday, but in far less numbers.

Legal experts said Perry's decision was reasonable, but highly unusual.

"I can't recall another situation like this, but I think in this case it was necessary," said Leslie Garfield, law professor at Pace Law School in New York. "... You ask people to serve the justice system, but in situations like this there has to be protection for these people. We have to try to protect them somehow."

I admire Mr. Ashton and have ordered his book, but I think he is wrong to say a jury should do its job "As they see fit."  I think a jury should do its job according to the evidence presented, according to the law and according to the judge's instructions.  I don't think any of these jurors even considered any of those things.  I believe they did find her not guilty because they saw fit to do so but that is not the criteria in deliberating and coming to a reasonable decision.  They failed in their duty, failed common sense and failed the community, IMO.

The Orange County Bar Association is hosting a discussion this afternoon titled "Lessons in Ethics & Professionalism from the Casey Anthony Trial."

The event, designed as continuing education for Bar Association members, features most of the primary players from the Casey Anthony trial. It's billed as a "unique seminar" that local Bar members have paid $50 to attend.

More than 120 people are packed into a ballroom near Church Street in downtown Orlando for the event.

Prosecutors Jeff Ashton and Linda Drane Burdick were the first to speak.

Both Ashton and Burdick agree a discussion needs to be had regarding pretrial release of evidence in a process known as discovery.

"Jose reached out and he got good people to back him up," Mason said. But many of those folks "left us in a lurch" before the trial out of fear the defense would lose and they be associated with that loss.

He responded to a question about a delay in the trial, noting there was a lot of work to be done reviewing the state's evidence, getting a new judge and handling the indigence of the client. A massive amount of work was done with a limited budget.

Mason said he, too, wants changes to the public records laws that allowed release of discovery and media coverage.

"That's what led to us having a change of venue," Mason said. "That's what led to a jury having to reverse the media conviction of Casey."

Sheaffer disagrees and said: "I think that's a slippery slope when you start having trials in secret."

The pretrial access to discovery, he said, "benefitted this defense."

Sheaffer maintains the defense "didn't perpetrate a fraud on the court" despite a defense that sometimes "defied logic."

Sheaffer said his thoughts didn't matter, though, at trial. What mattered was what was conveyed to the jury.

He said Casey "didn't have one friend in this whole earth, one advocate, other than Mason and Baez."

He disagreed that rules of professional conduct were relaxed in this case.

The one key attorney not scheduled to take part in the ethics discussion —lead Casey Anthony defense attorney Jose Baez.

Baez did not return calls from the Bar to attend this event, according to a Bar spokeswoman.

Mason is a azz wipe. Boo Woo he lost out on all that money because he worked pro bono for Casey. I don't think he should even be on this panel. He didn't show one once of professionalism thru the whole thing from the beginning to the end.  I can't stand the man.

Ashton said that making evidence public prior to the trial is "detriment to justice." He said it leads to the case being tried in the public, which is the "worst kind of trial" to have, Ashton said.

Mason took shots at the media and pundits who criticized the defense, and also chided lawyers on the defense team who quit just before the trial started, leaving the defense "in a lurch," as he said.

Mason and prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick got emotional at times.

Burdick said it was difficult as a single mom being away from her daughter during the two-month trial.

Mason said not only he but his wife, grandchildren and 87-year-old mother in law received death threats after the verdict.

"That's why Casey is in hiding," he told the audience.

Prosecutors were asked if they felt in retrospect that the case was not a death penalty case. Both declined to comment.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Defense attorney Cheney Mason, who represented Casey Anthony in her first-degree murder trial this summer, announced Thursday that he is penning a book to expose what went on behind the scenes of the controversial trial.

Mason made the announcement as he left an Orange County Bar Association meeting, which was attended by several of the major players in the trial.

Mason said the book is nearly done, and he expects it to be released by the end of the year. He promised it will contain never-before-heard details about the case, including information he said people who covered the case for three years do not even know. ::snipping2::

Can Cheney Mason write a best seller?

We could soon find out. The defense attorney is writing a book about the Casey Anthony trial, he revealed today at a seminar of the Orange County Bar Association.

“I can assure you that part and parcel of it is going to reveal the reasons why the jury verdict was not only the right verdict, but it was the only legal verdict they could have got,” Mason told reporters outside the seminar. Anthony was acquitted in July of murder in the 2008 death of her daughter, Caylee.

Mason said the book should be out by year’s end and will reveal many behind-the-scenes secrets, WKMG’s Mike DeForest reported. “My intentions are to, in fact, let the world know about things that they don’t know and that many of you don’t know,” he told reporters who covered the case.

Mason said he is writing the book by himself without help from any defense team members, DeForest added. “He has repeatedly said that he worked on this case for free,” DeForest noted.

Mason also criticized the defense attorneys who left the team before the trial. ”I’m saying, ‘Huh? You do this now? Three weeks before trial,’ ” Mason said. 

In response to a question from WOFL-Channel 35’s Holly Bristow, Mason said the underlying motive for their departure could be they felt the defense would lose.

Mason cited death threats against his family in explaining why Anthony remains in hiding somewhere in Florida. She is serving a year’s probation for check fraud.

My distrust is on this case makes me wonder on Ashton finishing his book, wonder when he started writing it and wonder how he came to the title for this book if trial was still going on when he started writing it? The people who covered the case don't know the info because he just made it up....

I figured the Sunshine Law would come under scrutiny resulting from this case.  But what I don't understand is that they want discovery withheld from the public until after the trial, yet hearings are open to the public.  Hearings are about discovery matters. I thought there was something fishy when George and Cindy showed up.  We all know about their own non-profit.  Maybe they are giving lessons.  But I don't see how these people can order the Goodnoughs to stay away when they don't even own the property. Even if they did own the property, the Goodnoughs could still stand on the public right-of-way and I hope they do.  Since the long-time owner still owns it and apparently he didn't object to the Goodnoughs being there, the non-profit has no standing to order anyone to do anything. I smell another scam in Caylee's name, IMO.

The weird thing is that statistically speaking he is probably right. Over the last 150 years, half of all our chief executives in the judicial and executive branches have come from either Harvard, Princeton or Yale. And those sharp as tacks third year law students in Dershowitz’ class asked appropriately probing questions about the Casey Anthony trial, including the controversial verdict of acquittal on all the homicide charges. They were particularly interested in the harsh backlash that has hobbled Jose’ efforts to return to normalcy. As sophisticated as those 3L students are, they seemed surprised that the defense attorney was being shunned and attacked as if he was the acquitted child killer, not her attorney. It was a blast of cold reality in a classroom in which the law is considered a lofty profession where outcomes are determined by statute and precedent, not mob rule or cable tv.

The Orlando Sentinel has filed a motion in court arguing against the efforts of Casey Anthony's defense team to have her Oct. 8 deposition sealed in her civil defamation lawsuit.

The 8-page court paper filed by Sentinel attorney Rachel Fugate notes that the court has historically "rejected almost every request by the defense to seal judicial or public records and Ms. Anthony received a fair trial" in her criminal case.

That fair trial came, Fugate noted, despite pre-trial releases of information about evidence in the case and despite "the significant amount of media attention."

Now, the Sentinel has filed its motion to intervene in the case for the limited purpose of opposing Anthony's motion to keep the records confidential.

"The defendant has not met her burden or provided a single legitimate basis for this court to seal a judicial record," Fugate wrote.

"The sole reason for confidentiality presented by Ms. Anthony – that this is a high profile case – does not provide the defendant with a unique privilege to limit access to public information," she added.

Sealing judicial records, Fugate concluded, can only be ordered when a "substantial threat" exists to a defendant's right to get a fair trial. Anthony's motion should be denied because it "does not even come close to meeting these high standards," she wrote.

3.  I've been an uncle for a few years now and just recently became a father. I can see now that there seemed to be a disconnect between her and Caylee. She seemed loving and caring, but I really never found it genuine. More like she was playing the part that was expected of her. At the time I didn't really know any other single mothers, so I just assumed that's how it went. Having my own kid has really opened my eyes to how she behaved.

Former volunteers have told the Orlando Sentinel they are concerned about the charity's ability to pull off its plan for the memorial, which Bring Kids Home has estimated could cost up to $200,000.

"I want to make sure that Eric is going forward, or we go to Plan B," DelValle said, which could eventually mean breaking off from Segura. He said his loyalties lie with the cause, not the charity.

"We are going to get a memorial built somewhere," DelValle said. He expressed pleasure with the turnout for the run/walk, which he called a trial run for future events.

In a story published Friday, four of the group's key volunteers told the Sentinel they were ousted from the project after requesting basic tax records from Segura.

Segura official denied that claim, despite emails corroborating it. He called the volunteer who asked for the records, Wally Goodnough, "unstable."

DelValle and longtime volunteer Ron Contois said Saturday they think other factors — Goodnough's feelings about the Anthonys' involvement and the slow pace of the project — were the root cause of the falling out.

They said the Goodnough didn't give Segura enough of a chance before going public with concerns.

Wally Goodnough, who watched from nearby with wife Jeanine and fellow disgruntled volunteers Dorothy and James Bunton, said Segura's absence on Saturday
confirmed his misgivings about the charity.

"It had nothing to do with the Anthonys," he said.

Records show Bring Kids Home, which was founded in 2009, had a minimal fundraising record before announcing plans for the intricate memorial.

It's not Casey answering questions......it's a guy who dated KC. He won't give his real name, but has been verified by the moderators of reddit.com. It's very easy to figure out it's Ricardo Morales, and doesn't deny to those who have figured it out. I read all the questions & answers and believe him to be legit. I actually found his comments/answers interesting. He has moved on with his life. He moved to alaska where he met his now wife. He's happily married and they've just recently had a baby boy. I was impressed by how his wife deals with his dating a murderer in his past. Worth reading, IMO.

That being said.....there's a link to one of the 12 village idiot jurors who is also answering questions. I would NOT recommend reading hers/his. It pissed me off after the first few answers. But it did confirm my opinion of them being total braindead idiots! They should just STFU! One of the comments from this juror was that the couple of jurors who did speak out got $50,000. If that's true, I am even more disgusted by these networks & will continue my boycotting of any of them who reward the jurors or the skank baby killer herself!

The post-trial interview with Dr. Phil McGraw seemed wrongheaded at first. Why not just fade into the background and let people move on?

But, no, the Anthonys got a contribution for their foundation from McGraw’s show, and the couple took the focus off their daughter again by serving up confounding and self-serving comments.

Now comes news from their website for Caylee’s Fund. The website lists “products to come.” It’s as if George and Cindy have become entrepreneurs of their granddaughter’s death.

This latest development comes shortly after Casey Anthony was named one of the creepiest celebrities. Well, by George, Cindy and George seem determined to keep up with their daughter in the creepy department.

How split was the jury decision?

It was unanimous (it had to be). There were originally 2 people in favor of a guilty verdict, but after a few hours of deliberation, they changed their minds.

I knew it was unanimous, I was more asking about how much the jury was split before the vote and how hard it was to get everyone to agree.

I heard time and time again during jury selection.....Are you able to form your OWN opinion, based on what is presented in court?  Are you easily swayed?

Maybe it's just his/her wording here, but they had to CONVINCE people to change their minds?  By what means?  Evidence or persuasion?  They never looked at any evidence during deliberation, they took very few notes during the trial.  I still believe they just wanted to go home and persuaded those 2 jurors, just to leave as quickly as possible.  I mean, they didn't want that cruise ship to leave without one of them.  Priorities and all.   ::MonkeyNoNo::

But how do you explain the duct tape? Why would somebody want to "cover up" an accident in the first place? And even if they did, why would they intentionally try to make it look like a murder?

It was near Caylees mouth, however I think the conditions just opened the bag and the duct tape landed on Caylee's skull. We saw the pictures of the remains, and it looked like the duct tape just drifted off of the bag and onto the skull.

OMFG!  Did they not hear the part where the tape was still attached to her hair?  If the tape was on the bag, opened up under conditions, how the hell did it just happen to land on either side of her face, 3 pieces,  and attach itself where it did for all those months in the swamp?   Had the tape been on the bag, it still would have been there.  Try removing duct tape from a plastic bag....what happens?  The bag will stick to the tape.  IDIOTS!!

Casey Anthony's recent videotaped deposition in the civil case against her will not be made public, a judge ruled this afternoon.

"Because of the heighted interest in these proceedings and the preceding criminal case the Defendants physical well-being has been threatened in a way not typical of other civil cases," Judge Lisa T. Munyon wrote.

"While the transcript will provide the public with the entire record of the deposition and permit the appropriate public scrutiny of these court proceedings, disclosure of the video with its ready ability to be uploaded to the internet or elsewhere will unfairly and unjustly taint any potential jury pool against the defendant."

It's unclear when the transcript will be made available. During the deposition taken earlier this month, Anthony invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

The 58 page deposition contained only nine pages where Casey gave some sort of response.

The most she said was her name, birthday, yes and no, and "I'm aware I'm being sued."

Anthony sat for the videotaped deposition in an undisclosed location with her civil lawyer Charles Greene.

Within the transcript, Casey's lawyer repeatedly asserts the 5th amendment on her behalf.

That's where she's essentially saying that to answer could incriminate her and she has a right against self-incrimination.

Lawyers for Zenaida Gonzalez say Casey should have to answer those questions and they've asked the judge to review this transcript to decide.

Gonzalez's attorney, John Morgan, argued that Anthony should not be given special treatment and the video should remain unsealed. Morgan also noted that by releasing the video to the public, Anthony stands to make less money if and when she decides to sell her story.

Anthony never specifically identified this woman as the nanny she was referring to.

When Anthony, 25, was tried on charges that she murdered Caylee this summer, her defense backed off the kidnapping claims and said Caylee had actually drowned in the Anthony family pool in June 2008. Her remains were found in a nearby wooded area in December 2008.

Anthony was found not guilty of murdering Caylee and is currently serving one year of probation on an unrelated check fraud conviction.

Anthony remained silent because she is still appealing her conviction on four counts of lying to law enforcement in the investigation into her daughter's disappearance.
