Thank you, Mr Peaches.  That is a great outcome and I am so pleased that Peaches did not have to have more major surgery.  God has answered our prayers.  Tell Peaches to take it easy and not to overdo anything.  Give her our love and tell her we will continue praying for the best possible results.

Okay I feel like a rookie. Am I in the right post now (I hope)? Thanks to everyone that  found my post and moved it where all Peaches friends could see the update. I was just trying to find a thread that wasn't locked and was just looking for a "Post reply" button. She coached me on how to post but I guess I didn't get it right. She was pretty concerned that I send out something tonight albeit late. She seemed nearly back to her normal feisty self in a matter of only 4 hours after they were poking around her innards. I'm optimistic about how everything turned out. Its been a long day so I'm hitting the monkey bunkie. Thanks again to all that have talked to the man upstairs on her behalf. With this many friends praying on her behalf, God has to be listening. He allowed Lot to bargain with him saying that if he could find just one righteous soul, he would spare Soddam and Gomorrah. I thought that was pretty cool even though there wasn't even one righteous soul and so down rained the fire and brimstone. May God allow the same deal and I just know your prayers for Peaches will be heard. Gods blessings and good night.

Hi All,

Just a quick post to let everyone know Peaches is HOME in her own bed as I type this. They let her out a day early if she promised to behave herself and stay in bed. She seems to be feeling pretty well with only some discomfort from the gas they blow you up with when they perform laporoscopic procedures. Thanks for all the well wishes from everyone and God Bless.

PEACHES - I am so glad the surgery was uneventful, and I'm praying the lab reports come back clean as well.

Also  a huge THANK YOU MR. PEACHES for keeping us all informed.

Now that I have been back to see both of my doctors following my surgery and read the pathology report, it's time for an update.  The mass and right adrenal gland that they took out last Wednesday was "adenocarcinoma consistent with ovarian cancer".  Isn't that swell?  This "thing" was on my 12/05 CT as well as the 5/06 CT and the size remained stable.  This is the time frame when I was on Carboplatin and Taxol.  Then I started consolidation (maintenance) chemo with Taxol only and the damn thing grew to 6 x 8 cm.  Twelve rounds of Taxol and another CT.  There it is.  Gotta come out.  Fine.  My surgeon, Dr. C. called me re the pathology report and said "it could have been a helluva lot worse".  He said this is actually the  best thing it could be because the alternatives are really bad.  I saw my oncologist yesterday morning and he said my case will be presented to the team and he will meet again with me next Wednesday to discuss the team's recommendations.  Dr. B, my onc, said more chemo.  He wants to look at the slides, etc. and get the plan together with the team.  Alrighty then.  So it turns out I was never really in remission?  I don't know.  Dr. C, the surgeon, seems to think this mass on my adrenal gland that was always there was really part of the first incidence of ovarian cancer but since the adrenal gland is such a RARE place for ovarian cancer to spread, they just watched it.  Plus he said my original surgery was huge and they were pretty busy in there.  My onc, Dr. B. used the word recurrence as if it wasn't cancer in the first place but now it is?  I don't know.  My DH and I tend to side with Dr. C that it was always there, it was always ovarian cancer but it was somehow stable while I was on Carboplatin but grew when I was on Taxol only.  

DH's best guess is probably chemo with Avastin and maybe Carboplatin....something cytotoxic to clean up any residual cells that might be floating around my abdomen.  Dr. B did say that while Dr. C. was in there last week, he got a good look around and couldn't find anything else that didn't belong there.  So other than this mass, which he removed along with my right adrenal gland, I should be okay?  

Amazingly enough, I feel better.  I hate waiting for results of tests.  Doesn't matter what kind.  I'm just sick until I hear the results.  I can't sleep, I can't eat, I wander around the house aimlessly.  And I'm sure none of my doctors really appreciates the anxiety involved here.  Doesn't surprise me.  

So now I know I have to have more chemo.  Fine.  I know that drill.  I can do it.  When I was first diagnosed in Dec. 2005, one of my neighbors of nearly twenty years, told me if anyone could make it, I could because I am one tough ole broad.  They were right then and they're right today.

I may be down but I'm not outta the game.  I can't be.

Oh, Peaches ~ I am crushed to hear this news, but you will come through this.  It is great that you are taking care of this right now, and the sooner the better.  

You have that positive, can-do attitude which is exactly what it takes to tackle this.  With the support of your wonderful husband and the monkey family, we will be holding you in our hearts and hands the entire way.

As much as it sucks to hear this news, it's a good thing.  It could have been a bunch of other things that are much worse.  DH stays up too late and reads too much and believe me, ovarian cancer is not the worst thing this could have been.  My oncologist is the man when it comes to ovarian cancer.  He knows everybody who is anybody connected with ovarian cancer.  I could not be in better hands.  The chemo nurses rock.  I still have the port in my chest for chemo so basically, I'm ready to go.  I'm just waiting for them to tell me the plan.

When I read on the LCD that you would be posting something in the lounge, I had a feeling that the details may not be what we all wanted to hear, BUT, there is no surprise in your resolve to deal with it.  

You are an inspiration to all of us.  Your attitude is half the battle, and we are all behind you 100%.  Will pray that this next rouind will be the trick, that you stay healthy and strong while while doing battle, once again.

So this a.m. when I read your post I too was worried.  And I kept hitting refresh while you were typing your long story and I  even left late for work because I wanted to know.

I finally went to work and am there now reading this update....

I gotta tell you - you are one fantastic human being.  With that attitude that nasty C stuff ought to just run like hell.  You are an inspiration to us all.

I know that we all (monkeys) will continue to uphold you in prayers and you will remain in our thoughts.

On the days that you feel down, depressed, or scared know that we all are right there with you holding your hand and hugging you tightly and that you're not alone in this battle as you have many armor bearers walking with/beside you.
