He was court-martialed in 2001 and found guilty of drug and domestic-battery charges in South Carolina, Smith was dishonorably discharged as a private in 2003. Formerly married to "Shannon Kathleen Collins-Smith" who died April 2001 of suspicious circumstances with a brain injury. Dale was involved with seven others in a brawl that left a young man dead in Orlando and another injured in 1992.
