911 Call Transcript First Call 911: 911, what’s your emergency Lena: (sounding very upset) my baby’s missing 911: ok, where is your address Lena: 45 Dennison street 911: 45? Lena: 49 911: ok, how old Lena: I was out looking for her for over an hour 911: ma’am, how old? I need you to calm down Lena: I’m sorry. she’s only 3 911: when was the last time you saw him Lena: this morning, real early. I went in and checked on her ‘cos she’s been sick with the flu 911: is it a male or female Lena: it’s a girl 911: a girl? Lena: yes 911: ok you saw her this morning around 6:30 Lena: yes 911: when was the last time, that was the last time you saw her was at 6:30 this morning? Lena: yes and then she laid back down and went back to sleep and we went back to bed 911: were the doors open or anything Lena: no the doors weren’t open 911: were they locked Lena: uh, I yes I think (inaudible) Lena: me and my other kids 911: ok, do you live with her father Lena: no 911: who is her father? Lena: her father is a guy named Eric Harris. he doesn’t even know that she exists. 911: ok, and you’ve been looking for her for the past hour Lena: yes, I’ve looked everywhere (inaudible) 911: what was she wearing whenever you put her back in bed? Lena: she had on a pair of purple Dora PJs. we went up all these streets, we went up all these streets 911: have you been outside checking the area Lena: yes, I’ve drove up all the streets around here looking thinking maybe she went outside or something and I don’t think my mom woulda came and got her because she woulda woke me up and stuff (??? inaudible, something like she’d be the only one ???) 911: have you called your mother? Lena: no, I need to do that to see if she has her 911: do you have a phone number for her? Lena: yes, it’s 304 452 8295 911: 8295? Lena: yes 911: and what is her name? Lena: Joann Evans 911: Joann Evans? Lena: yes 911: well do you want to call her real quick and then just call me back right back so I know what’s going on, ok? Lena: ok 911: alright Lena: ok, bye 2nd call 911: 911, what is your emergency? Lena: This is Lena Lunsford. My mom doesn’t have her. 911: She doesn’t have her? Lena: She doesn’t have her. She’s coming now. ….oh my god 911: you don’t know of anyplace that she would’ve went to in the community? is there a friend’s house close by or somebody that she plays with? Lena: no 911: ok, is there anyplace there in the community, a playground, or does she go to church anywhere there? Lena: no. 911: ok. Lena: (crying) help me find her. 911: ok, I’ve got an officer on the way, ma’am, I just need you to calm down, ok 911: you have checked everywhere in the house? Lena: yes. 911: all the closets? Lena: yes 911: under every bed? Lena: yes 911: do you have a basement? Lena: yes and it’s been checked too 911: ok, how about the vehicles outside Lena: it’s been checked. that’s what I used to go look for her 911: and you said there are other children in the residence? Lena: yes (hyperventilating) 911: and is she tall enough to where she’d be tall enough to reach the door handle? Lena: yes she is 911: ok Lena: oh my God. (baby crying in background) Destiny, please come here and play with your brother for a moment 911: what color is her hair? Lena: she has brown hair and brown eyes 911: do you know how much she weighs? Lena: she weighs approx. 32-35 lbs. maybe a little more. 911: ok, do you know how tall she is? Lena: uh, umm…….I’m guessing around 3 feet. I’m not for sure right now, I’m sorry. 911: that’s ok. was there anybody else in the residence with you this morning? any other adults? Lena: no, umm the only adult that (cuts out) 911: …the other children are in the residence Lena: I have 5 kids 911: ok, so there’s 4 others in the residence? Lena: there’s 3 right now 911: ok , where , where is the other one? Lena: my son is at visitation with his father. 911: ok, (cuts out) 911: so you got up at 6:30 this morning with her and she got sick? Lena: yes 911: and she went back to bed, went back to sleep and then you you laid down also? Lena: yes 911: how old are your other children that are (cuts out) 911: ok, did any of them see her this morning? what time did they get up?
