Title: Firing the Perpetual Self-Replicating Welfare Recipient
Post by: WhiskeyGirl on January 26, 2012, 09:25:31 AM
There are always people that work hard, contribute for years, and fall on hard times.  I do believe society should have some kind of safety net for the less fortunate.

Should it be private or publicly funded?  Which group is in a better position to know/research real family circumstances?  Offer a hand up?  Offer perpetual dependency?

Why would any president or government official turn away or prevent good jobs?  Jobs that would support families for decades?  Make the country self-sufficient?  Provide business for campaign supporters that just happen to own competing business interests?

Just blows the mind.

"Dem lawmaker says 20,000 Keystone XL jobs 'not that many'"

“Twenty thousand jobs is really not that many jobs, and investing in green technologies will produce that and more,” she said on Chicago’s WLS Radio Don Wade and Roma Show on Wednesday morning. “But I’ll tell you what, you know it seems to me that the Republicans would rather have an issue than a pipeline.”

How many good jobs did Solyndra create?  How much debt heaped onto the backs of taxpayers and future generations?  Is that a good use of public money, created by borrowing?  I don't think so.

Destroy 20,000 Keystone pipeline jobs?  20,000 jobs aren't that many?  WHERE are the GREEN jobs?

“Tell that to the 20,000 people that woke up this morning and didn’t have a job to go to,” said Coats. “ ‘Well, these don’t really matter’ — I mean, this not only is jobs, this is less dependence on Middle East oil.”

Good point.  How many people who woke up this morning had no job or were underemployed?

It does seem insensitive.  Perhaps the Democrat 1% don't know what hard work is?  Live in some kind of dream land?

Obama is firing 80,000 military people.  People who get up and do a job.  Not just Navy seals.  People who contribute.

Obama destroys 100,000 jobs in a month.

Newt recently pointed out that 2 years on unemployment is an associates degree.  What about a certificate program?  Those are often less than two years.  All those healthcare jobs Nancy promised.

Why isn't Obama firing the perpetual lifetime welfare recipient?  Two years on welfare and you could have a certificate or associate degree.  Six years on welfare?  A masters?

A lifetime on welfare?  Where is your doctorate?

Obama destroys jobs.  Fires good people.  Promotes poverty?  Moving folks into poverty is a good thing?

Why not fire the able bodied folks that do nothing?  Contribute nothing?  Consume never ending resources the government takes from others?

Something is wrong with this system.

just my humble opinions
