Original Pictures is preparing to shoot a movie starring Rob Lowe in the coming weeks, and while the local production company is steadfastly secretive about the project, a Directors Guild of Canada website suggests the film will be Imperfect Justice, the story of the unsuccessful 2011 prosecution of Casey Anthony, accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee in Florida.

According to a recent Hollywood Reporter story, Lowe signed to play prosecutor Jeff Ashton in a Lifetime TV movie based on Ashton's book of the same name.

Locations that have been scouted included the Law Courts Building on York Avenue and the editorial offices of the Winnipeg Free Press.

WESH-Channel 2 reported Monday night that Anthony defense attorney Cheney Mason had agreed to accept Anthony’s subpoena in the Zenaida Gonzalez defamation case.

WESH anchor Jim Payne explained that Gonzalez attorney John Dill said “that means Anthony will be required to attend her defamation trial early next year or face the possibility of criminal contempt proceedings.”

Turns out that Casey Anthony won't have a big role in the Casey Anthony movie.

Speculation has raged about who might play "the most hated woman in America" in an upcoming Lifetime movie. Could it be Kristen Stewart, Alyssa Milano or Jennifer Love Hewitt?

The role wouldn't be worth their time because it's the inside story of the trial, not Anthony. Cast as Casey is a little-known actress, Holly Deveaux, who starred the Canadian series "Baxter."

"Prosecuting Casey Anthony," based on former prosecutor Jeff Ashton’s best-selling "Imperfect Justice," starts shooting Tuesday. So the casting must be finalized quickly.

Alison Cross, the film's writer, says there are three main roles: former prosecutor Ashton, defense attorney Jose Baez and prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick. Prosecutor Frank George will be featured as well, but the role hasn't been cast.

Rob Lowe of "Brothers & Sisters" and"Parks and Recreation" plays Ashton. Lowe told TMZ: "It's gonna be interesting ... I think people are gonna dig it ... great script."

Ashton has said he was flattered by the casting. "I wish I had his boyish good looks," Ashton said. "When I told my wife, she asked, So does that mean I'm married to Rob Lowe now?' "

Oscar Nunez will play Baez, Anthony's defense attorney. Nunez, a Cuban-American actor-comedian, plays Oscar Martinez on "The Office." His other credits include"The Proposal" and "24."

"He did a fantastic audition that was so persuasive dramatically," Cross said. She said she was "wowed" by Nunez's "range and ability to channel Jose."

Elizabeth Mitchell of "Lost" and"V" will play Burdick.

Anthony and her parents, George and Cindy, are secondary characters. Veteran actor Kevin Dunn of"Luck" will play George but Cindy hasn't been cast yet.

Deveaux will be limited in what she can portray because all of Casey's dialogue in the film comes from public records, Cross said. The movie will rely heavily on news footage to give the picture a documentary look, and it won't use re-enactments of Anthony's life, Cross said.

"It's not our intention to make a movie that tries Casey Anthony for the third time," Cross said. "She was tried in court and she was tried by public opinion."

Baton Rouge -- A bill making it a crime not to report the disappearance or death of a child, inspired by the Caylee Anthony case in Florida, is headed to Gov. Bobby Jindal's desk. Representatives on Tuesday agreed to Senate amendments to House Bill 600 by Rep. Barbara Norton, D-Shreveport, which requires caretakers to quickly report a missing or dead child to authorities. The bill, which passed unanimously, requires that a child younger than 7 be reported missing if he or she has been gone for 12 hours, a child between the ages of 7 and 13 be reported missing after no contact for a day, and a teenager between 13 and 17 be reported after 36 hours.
When a child dies, a caretaker must report it to authorities within an hour, though the bill specifies that failing to report the death is a crime only if it is done with the intent to mislead a public official or impede an investigation.

Anyone found guilty of failing to report a missing child could be fined up to $500 and imprisoned for up to two years. If the disappearance results in serious bodily injury or the death of the child, anyone found guilty of failing to report that the child was missing could be fined up to $5,000 and imprisoned between two and five years. Anyone found guilty of failing to report the death of a child could be fined up to $5,000 and imprisoned for up to five years.

Bill punishes silence in missing child case

With a vote of 90-0, the Louisiana House gave final legislative approval Tuesday to a bill inspired by Florida’s Casey Anthony case.

House Bill 600 by state Rep. Barbara Norton, D-Shreveport, would subject someone to jail time for failing to report a missing child within a short time frame.

If the child later was found dead, a parent or caretaker could serve up to 50 years in prison.

Similar bills are sweeping the nation following a Florida mother’s acquittal in her child’s death.

Casey Anthony never told Florida authorities that her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, was missing. The toddler’s remains later were found in a wooded area. The cause of death could not be determined.

A jury convicted Casey Anthony last year of “providing false information to a law enforcement officer” for lying about her daughter’s whereabouts. The case sparked outrage, both for Anthony’s acquittal on a murder charge and for the short amount of time she spent behind bars.

PEOPLE has learned that Anthony, 26, is angry that her required appearance will affect her plans to leave the country after her probation ends in August. She will now have to be available to testify.

KEARNEY — Publicity prior to the murder trial of Casey Anthony, who told police a babysitter had kidnapped her child, affected the case’s outcome, Anthony’s prosecutor said in Kearney Thursday.

“Thousands of people were convinced that Casey Anthony was guilty before we ever called the first witness at trial,” said Jeff Ashton, one of three prosecutors who tried Anthony in 2011 for the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Ashton was the featured speaker Thursday at the 25th annual Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee and Nebraska County Attorneys Association Criminal Justice Conference in Kearney.

It wasn’t until after the trial that Ashton realized the highly publicized case had eliminated most potential jurors.

“By the process of jury selection, the pretrial publicity had already eliminated 90 percent of the population, and so all you’re left with is people who by nature are more skeptical and need to have a greater level of certainty to convict,” he said. “Because of that process, we ended up filtering out all those people who could’ve put the puzzle together.”

Maynard was a crime scene investigator on the case, and was called to testify in Casey's murder trial one year ago.
 
Maynard's biggest claim to fame with the case was she found the heart-shaped sticker among little Caylee's remains.
 
"We collected it like any other piece of evidence,” Maynard said. “I mean, we were there to document the evidence to do it properly."
 
Prosecutors argued Casey placed a heart-shaped sticker on the duct tape that was found on Caylee's skull.
 
Maynard testified twice during the trial and wondered if her testimony fell on deaf ears.
 
"I've testified in a lot of trials, and granted it was a Friday afternoon, but I kind of felt like the jury was kind of closed off,” Maynard said. “So short of a couple of women that were kind of leaning and nodding, they did appear to be closed off."
 
Maynard is no longer a crime scene investigator. She now works full-time at the breast cancer foundation that she created called "Libby's Legacy."

The only jury that could be seated were people that after Ellen or Oprah saw that the news was coming on and switched to cartoons. The very type of people that I would not want sitting on any jury deciding about me.
Think of it, 17 people that don't give a rats ass about what happens in their community. Murders,robberies be damned, Peoples Court is on.
Those seventeen would not be able to pass a third grade current events quiz, and then to expect them to understand chemistry or forensics? They were velcro shoes because laces are too hard and they can't be bothered with such.

Sounds like you nailed it to me.  17 of the laziest, dumbest, most morally vacant individuals to be found in Fla.  Oh, how I wish the homeless shelter had been asked to provide a few candidates.  Those folks would've been better able to gauge KC's motives and determine the relevance of the evidence.  And they would have appreciated the fine meals, free movies, and hotel accommodations and they wouldn't have complained about missing their vacations or family time.

CHARLESTON — West Virginia lawmakers appear ready to stage a renewed effort to make it a felony to not let police know within 24 hours when a child 11 years old or younger turns up missing.

Known as “Caylee’s Law,” the proposal is in response to the celebrated case in Florida when Caylee Anthony died.

A lengthy trial that mesmerized the nation resulted in acquittal of the mother, triggering waves of protest and efforts in some states to tighten the law on reporting missing children.

Soon afterward, the Select Committee on Children, Juveniles and Other Issues unanimously approved a bill that would specify failure to report missing children by a parent, guardian or custodian as either a misdemeanor or felony offense, depending on the child’s age.

The panel’s chairman, Delegate Virginia Mahan, D-Summers, was unable to attend Tuesday’s interims meeting.

But counsel Joe Altizer left no doubt the issue Mahan strenuously pushed will be again on the agenda in this year’s interims.

One panelist, Delegate John O’Neal, R-Raleigh, strongly endorsed the measure, after Altizer’s presentation.

“The basic concept is that if an adult has knowledge that a child is missing, has been kidnapped, or taken from a parent, for some reason or another, that adult should be required to report that to the proper law enforcement authorities,” O’Neal said.

Hi all monkeys its been a while since I posted, but have been reading and want to thank you all for keeping things updated.

I am going to go with my gut feeling KC will skip out of the USA when her probation is up and then there will be a hunt for her then a warrant for her arrest when and if she ever shows back up in the USA. Just I don't think that she will go back to court with ZG.

I haven't finished the book that JA wrote my mind isn't quit wrapping in it. I know I will not buy or read Bozo's book, its not going to be nothing but lies and more lies and I think we all heard enough of those by that group.

I do want to watch the movie on JAs book just hope its not on pay perview.

Illinois lawmakers are moving forward with legislation that would criminalize parents who fail to report their child missing within 24 hours.

The House Criminal Law committee today passed "Caylee's Law" legislation that would make failing to report a child under 13 missing within a 24-hour timeframe a Class 4 felony for parents or guardians. Under the measure, children two and under must be reported missing within an hour of their parent or guardian learning of their disappearance

States across the country have adopted similar Caylee's Law legislation. There is similar bill in the Missouri House, but it hasn't made progress this session. The Missouri bill is HB1167.

The Illinois measure, SB2537, passed unanimously and will be sent to the House floor for debate.

Well, the discussion just ended abruptly for me. Was a lot of buffering going on too.

I found myself getting angry all over again at Cheney and the jury.

Judge Alex was great, and John Ashton was good as well.

All in all, I am glad I watched.

I was hoping to hear more about a plea bargain.

They seemed to be worried about time.

After reading this article a thought came to me that if Jarhead and Bozo believes KC is so innocent then let there be another trial and this time she has to take the stand and each side gets to pick 6 jurors and jurors are to be put in a decent modern motel not a ritzy ditzy motel and no catering to them and no promises to them either. Lets not let the media put it on tv then lets see if KC will walk if she does the world will accept the verdict and let her have her bella vita life or whatever her tattoo says.

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois General Assembly on Thursday sent to Gov. Pat Quinn legislation resulting from the Casey Anthony murder trial.

House lawmakers on Thursday unanimously passed a measure requiring parents or guardians of any missing child 13 years old or younger to notify police within 24 hours. Children 2 years old and younger must be reported missing within one hour of their disappearance.

They lament the failure to change the law and worry it never will be toughened.

Casey Anthony. Jerry Sandusky. Daniel Ehrlick. Melissa Jenkins.

Those names conjure images many people would like to forget: Crimes against children that went unreported. The question of whether anyone knew what was happening to the children in those cases — but didn’t tell police — still haunts many.

In Idaho, prosecutors are able to charge only a misdemeanor for failure to report violent crimes against children. If the crimes go unreported for years, the statute of limitations means there might be no charge at all.

The Idaho Prosecuting Attorneys Association tried to change that this year, proposing a law to allow police to file felony charges against someone who doesn’t report crimes against children such as lewd conduct, rape or injury to a child.

They also wanted to remove the statute of limitations for failing to report cases of lewd conduct or rape involving children, since those limits no longer apply to the crimes themselves.

The bill was backed by powerful Sen. Denton Darrington, R-Declo, the longtime chairman of the Senate’s Judiciary and Rules Committee. He was the Senate’s senior member and is known for his support of law enforcement and tough sentencing guidelines.

But the bill never got out of his committee, and chances for it to come back appear bleak. Darrington is retiring this year after redistricting put him in with Sen. Dean Cameron of Rupert.

“We lost a good friend in Sen. Darrington,” said Ada County Deputy Prosecutor Jean Fisher, who handles many of the child abuse cases for Idaho’s largest county.

POWERFUL INTEREST GROUPS

Some groups, such as the Idaho Education Association, which represents teachers, and the Idaho School Board Association, had concerns, especially about changing the statute of limitations.

Those groups didn’t want their members, who work with children, at risk of prosecution for long-ago crimes they might have reported to their supervisors, as they were trained to do.

And some legislators, such as committee member Sen. Sheryl Nuxoll, R-Cottonwood, just didn’t think the bill would work.
Why would a bill that seemed to have strong support die before it even got to a vote?

“I simply couldn’t find the support within the (judiciary) committee,” Darrington said. “I think there is an attitude of ‘Don’t create any new felonies. Don’t put people in prison.’

“I feel differently. I believe if a new felony is needed, like this proposal, we create a new felony. It’s the right thing to do for public safety.”

Patti Anne Lodge, R-Huston, said the bill died because “many groups” felt it needed more work. Asked to identify the groups, Lodge said she did not know.

Sen. Les Bock, D-Boise, said he was out of town and unavailable for comment. Sen. Bart Davis, R-Idaho Falls, said he remembered the reading of the bill, but nothing more. Other members of the committee didn’t respond to emails requesting comment.

“Sen. Darrington did not want Caylee’s Law. He did not want a knee-jerk reaction law named after a victim or certain case,” Koole said. “He wanted us to look at what (Idaho) had and address what we couldn’t do now with our current statutes.”

SB 1254 would have made the maximum penalty for failing to report five years in prison. Today the misdemeanor is punishable by up to six months in jail.

The statute of limitations for not reporting crimes against children is four years. The bill would have removed that limit in cases where people did not report crimes of lewd conduct or rape of a child.

Kudos to Bobby Jindal, who has also proven to be one of the most wonderful blessings to Louisiana ever.  A sterling gentleman.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA--Despite declaring herself broke on her probation report, Casey Anthony has reportedly been shopping for real estate in an upscale area of Costa Rica. This indiscrepancy has raised the eyebrows of the judge assigned to oversee the upcoming civil case against the infamous Florida mother, leading to an order by the court to for Anthony to disclose any and all of her financial resources.

In her monthly probation reports, Anthony has claimed that she is not able to work or attend school due to the barrage of death threats that she has received since her release from jail last August. Although Anthony was at one point undergoing counseling, her most recent probation reports indicate that she is no longer participating in therapy as she feels the sessions are "unnecessary".
 
Anthony's reported lack of income caught the attention of attorney's representing Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez in her suit against Anthony after they were made aware of Anthony's recent quest to purchase real estate in Costa Rica.
 
If Anthony is found to have lied about her financial resources, not only could she face additional civil ramifications, she could face criminal charges for perjury, particularly on charges of lying to her probation officer.

6 members of Kansas Bramlage family killed in Florida plane crash

LAKE WALES, FLA. -- Six members of the prominent Bramlage family of Kansas died today when their small plane crashed in a swampy area of central Florida.

The Polk County Sheriff's office said 45-year-old Ronald Bramlage was piloting the aircraft headed from the Bahamas to Junction City, Kan. It had stopped for customs in Fort Pierce, Fla., and had taken off a half-hour before the accident.

Also killed was Bramlage’s wife, Becky, and their four children.

Ron Bramlage is the grandson of the late Fred Bramlage, the namesake of Bramlage Coliseum on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan. The elder Bramlage made the principal donation for the construction of the the arena, which is home to the K-State basketball teams. It was built for $17.2 million and opened in 1988.

Ron Bramlage was the owner of Roadside Ventures LLC in Junction City. Becky Bramlage was the president of the Junction City school board, according to The Wichita Eagle.

I joined flightaware back then and got email updates on flights for this aircraft. Had not had any alerts for a long time until they left on May 31 for Treasure Cay airport.

Hey Brandi, what's the difference between "Air Worthiness Date" & "Last Action Date" shown at the below link? Is this informing the last inspection was 6/20/06 or 5/14/12? Isn't 5/14/12 when it was registered? Wouldn't they inspect it before flying?

I guess that's when the aircraft was first deemed worthy for flight.

"Last action date" I presume would be when the last action was performed. In this case, when the aircraft was registered to the new owners.

I asked a guy that flies, and he says this plane is a very nice, expensive plane, and being a 2006, it's considered fairly new.  He said planes sometimes are inspected for air worthiness yearly, but it can vary depending on the plane, sometimes every 100 hours etc.  He said some things depend on whether they are privately owned, chartered and etc. The inspections and etc. can be rigorous.    I personally don't know much about these things.   :smt102

Ron (1990) and Becky (1991 and 1992) were both graduates of Kansas State University. They were both members of the K-State Alumni Association, President’s Club, Foundation Trustees and Ahearn Fund. Ron was the grandson of the late Fred Bramlage, a 1935 graduate of K-State and Junction City businessman. Fred Bramlage was the lead contributor to the construction of Bramlage Coliseum, a multi-purpose arena that opened in 1988 and is home to the K-State men’s and women’s basketball teams.

Deborah Johnston, a neighbor, says Ron Bramlage was a pilot and had recently purchased a new plane.

Titch, I think we're all really going around and around in an area we aren't experts in.   ::MonkeyWink::  From what I understand, there are certain things that must be done for aircraft maintenance, at certain intervals and etc.  This stuff gets logged in and can require signatures etc.  If work wasn't completed and it could affect the integrity of the plane, it shouldn't have been flying.  Airplanes aren't like cars in regard to repairs.  There will be an FAA report for sure.

Sheriff Grady Judd (Polk County) has said that they are searching for the body of the 13 y/o son which apparently came out midair. The plane apparently broke up in the air and there's a two mile debris field.

I am talking about the document in the .pdf that Titch asked about being an old document. (http://www.aerolienslist.com/PDF/1233.pdf)  It is dated July, 2010. I believe it is a mechanic's lien. I remember reading it quite a few months ago, when we were wondering how Casey was transported after she left jail and we were researching Todd's plane.

Many pictures at link. Plane literally broke up in midair. I can only wonder how frightened the Pinellas Lazy Arses are feeling right now...

Polk Co. Sheriff Judd confirmed the plane that crashed Thursday has been used by Casey Anthony in the past.
According to Judd, a lawyer for Anthony, Todd Macaluso, at some point used the plane and Anthony has been on several flights aboard the plane.

The plane was later repossessed. The new owners were killed in the crash Thursday.
Anthony and the previous lawyer are in no way connected to Thursday's crash.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the death investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Authority will be conducting investigations related the crash.

Thank you for this! Ok, the trip to Haiti where thousands of miles were logged on the plane and it got extremely dirty - wonder how clean they got the engine after servicing it.

Something still bugs me though, Brandi. Macaluso only owed 13grand for services. Why would he reneg on that? He could definitely afford 13g's, kwim? So why wouldn't he pay it? Was there something wrong with it? Then to let the mechanic bill go but still charter CMA & her suck ups around really makes me wonder... Maybe he thought they'd pay him but their huge payday never came in?

Could be he owed on the loan for the plane also.

Prayers for this family.  They seem to be a wonderful family...full of love for others.  Great morals and upstanding members of society unlike previous passengers (known to us).

Maybe payments weren't being made on the plane and that's why it was repossessed.  And with the thirteen thousand dollar lien in place, if the plane were then sold, the lien would have to be satisfied, right? I hear air planes can be real money pits. It's not just the cost of the airplane itself, but the hangar fees, insurance and the ongoing costs for maintenance and fuel if it's being used. Three million, ninety-five thousand asking price.   ::piggy::

Olathe, KS where CA's reported boyfriend lives (what's his name, bobo's cousin?) is about 2.0 - 2.5 hours from Junction City/Manhattan.

As someone else mentioned the Bramlage's have the means to get answers for this.  After the grief begins to wane.  So tragic.

LAKE WALES, Fla. - A family vacation turned tragic when a plane piloted by Kansas philanthropist Ron Bramlage crashed Thursday afternoon in a Florida swamp near Tampa.

His wife and four children were on board. No one survived.

The plane was heading from the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas to Junction City, Kan. It stopped in Port St. Lucie, Fla., to clear customs before crashing in Lake Wales just after noon Central Time.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the plane began to break apart before it crashed. Pieces of the plane were found scattered two miles from the crash site.

Coming down from the rafters because of this tragedy. So, a couple of things, first in looking at this tragic flight, it's pretty clear something very bad happened very quickly. Within 1 minute, the KTS ( air speed) went from 147 to 68 then 60 and in the next minute was at 255. All at 26,000 feet, I imagine the next 3 minutes at 255 was when it was breaking up. Also, in looking at a close up of the nose, it looks to me like there's smoke or burn marks around the windshield. There's no sign on the ground or surrounding the crash site of fire, so I'm assuming an engine fire/failure?

Thanks shannon for that insight...I know nothing at all about planes or how to read the chart you have posted.  I do recall in one of the articles that I read that it said a small fire was quickly put out when emergency crews arrived at the scene.  SN:  I was thinking what you said...why did a wonderful and loving family that had a purpose in society have to die...instead of the murderer?  I am just saying it out loud and not questioning God though... ::MonkeyShocked::

'Caylee's Law' is latest in long line of event-inspired penalties

TALLAHASSEE – Orlando's must-see-TV Casey Anthony spectacle last year has had a coast-to-coast public policy spillover, with laws inspired by the tragic death of 2-year-old Caylee and acquittal of her mother on murder charges.

Florida couldn't even claim to be the first state to pass a so-called "Caylee's law;" New Jersey beat us in January with a law making it a felony for someone with custody of a child not to call police within 24 hours of discovering the child missing. Prosecutors said Casey lied to her mother and police for 30 days before acknowledging that Caylee was missing.

All told, 32 states filed legislation this year to criminalize the failure to report a missing child, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Interesting...I live in South Florida and this is the first I am hearing that she is/was in the vicinity. Nary a tidbit on the local TV news or paper. Not even that she had been 'found'. But I'm on the east coast of South Florida -- any South Florida 'west coast' monkeys hear anything on the local news about this?

Prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick looks mighty glamorous on the June cover of Orlando Home & Leisure.  Colleagues raved that Burdick looks younger and slimmer than a year ago during the Casey Anthony trial.

Burdick agreed to appear in the magazine's report on top female lawyers. A feature by Randy Noles recaps Burdick's career before turning to the Anthony case. Kudos to Noles for getting any views from the reticent Burdick, who declined to discuss Anthony's acquittal in her daughter's death.

"I just wanted to do a good job for Caylee," Burdick says. "During the trial, I watched and read absolutely nothing. I didn't need to hear any more opinions."

Burdick says she assigned the case to herself and recruited Jeff Ashton to join her.

Noles writes that Burdick "struggled to keep Ashton on an even keel" and cautioned him after he laughed during defense attorney Jose Baez's closing statement.

"I told Jeff that he needed to calm down," Burdick tells Noles. "What I recall him saying was, 'You can't force me not to be me.' " But she adds that she doesn't believe Ashton's reaction affected the verdict.

Maybe Casey is angling to be a spokesperson for Jenny Craig or one of those weight loss deals like Jessica Simpson wrangled...get fat and make money as their spokes person as they lose weight. Would not put it past Casey to think that she could do something like that. Casey Anthony: 'I didn't kill my daughter'

(CNN) -- Casey Anthony, the Florida woman who was tried and acquitted in the death of her young daughter, broke her silence Tuesday to CNN's Piers Morgan, saying she was rightly found not guilty.

"Obviously I didn't kill my daughter," Anthony said, Morgan reported on "Piers Morgan Tonight." The two spoke for roughly 10 minutes by phone.

"If anything, there's nothing in this world l've ever been more proud of, and there's no one I loved more than my daughter. She's my greatest accomplishment," she said.

Piers Morgan’s interview with national pariah Casey Anthony Tuesday night has already prompted plenty of outrage on Twitter. But it could have been worse if Anthony had agreed to air their 10-minute phone conversation live on Piers Morgan Tonight. Her demands left Morgan to relay to his audience what she told him, blunting the impact an interview with Anthony could have generated.

Morgan and his producers asked Anthony to call in to the program, which featured her lawyer J. Cheney Mason, a spokesperson for Morgan’s CNN show told The Hollywood Reporter. Mason was present for the call. But Anthony declined to do the call for the show.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right. Casey now getting her chance to speak -- again; after months in hiding she is breaking her silence. She just filed an appeal in her criminal trial -- unbelievable. She was found not guilty of murdering her daughter, Caylee, but she was convicted of lying to police.

Now, her lawyer, Cheney Mason says even that should be thrown out. He says Casey`s interview with police should have been allowed in court because Casey was not read her Miranda rights. She wasn`t officially arrested.

But Cheney Mason says Casey thought she had been arrested. She was trying to get a totally clean slate. Remember this? Boy, that brings back memories, doesn`t it? She`s backing up this attempt to clear her name, so to speak, with a full-on media assault.

Mark Eiglarsh, does she have a chance? Why on earth -- I mean most people feel like she got away with something horrible. She`s not satisfied. She`s got to come back and try to get this thrown out?

EIGLARSH: Ok. Let me defend Cheney Mason for one second. It`s his job. His job as a defense lawyer, as much as people despise her and maybe even his actions. It`s his job to do everything he can which includes taking an appeal.

Do I think it has any merit? Absolutely not. Even if his chances are theoretically possible that he can win, that`s his job to do so. She, trying to clear her name? That`s never going to happen. And even if the appellate court were to find some defect in what was done during her trial, it`s not going to clear her name.

You know, we all know what she`s about. And she cannot tell the truth.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, this is just the start. Tomorrow we are all over this story because there are reports that Casey Anthony`s physical appearance has changed radically. To the point where she goes out and walks around and nobody recognizes her. That`s tomorrow right here on this show. Got to join us for that.

Raising my children to be hard working caring adults is one of best things my hubs and I have done. I guess you could say it's an accomplishment. We gave them a stable home life taught them right from wrong and loved them with all our hearts.  What did she do for Caylee. Nothing but kill her. ABC, oddly enough, had a small clip from it, but I'm of the opinion, that they are just testing the waters, as Piers Morgan always has the lowest ratings in viewership, and if she flopped, not many would notice - LOL. [ He's lucky to garner around 400,000 viewers approx --- and that's on a good day ].    I think it was ABC ...

You lied to police repeatedly, hindering the investigation, insisting your daughter had been kidnapped by her nanny, Zanny, when you knew all along there was no nanny named Zanny; there was no nanny at all; and your daughter was already dead.

Casey was only found guilty of lying to cops. But now Casey wants even those minor convictions thrown out. She just filed an appeal.

What`s Casey trying to accomplish with all this? Everybody knows she lied over and over and over again. We saw her police interrogation. Let`s watch it again.

ROBYN WALENSKY, AUTHOR, "BEAUTIFUL LIFE?": Jane, I think it`s actually very simple. She`s been out of the public`s eye for a year, and she misses the attention.

She`s also a master of manipulation. We both sat through the trial for many weeks. And, Jane, she misses being in the spotlight. And I can remember, Jane, and I write about this in the book "Beautiful Life," you know, after the trial a lot of the conversations that went on with her and some of the letters that she wrote while she was in prison were revealed after the trial was over.

And in them she mentioned some very famous broadcasters. And she was very, very involved in watching all the attention and all the news reports about her. So now that her probation is going to be up in a couple of weeks, well, hey, it`s time to get back into the limelight.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Can you believe it`s almost four years, minus a couple of days, that that precious child was last seen? Four years. And it dominated our lives for so long, this case.

Piers Morgan said there`s a reason Casey spoke to him. And she claims, oh, no, this is not about money. Let`s listen.

MORGAN: She didn`t want to make money. It was never a question of payment. Obviously, we don`t pay for interviews at CNN anyway. And she knew that. I think she felt it would be a more credible discussion with a news organization that wasn`t paying her.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: But notice that she didn`t appear on camera. She did not also allow her voice to be recorded. Now reports are saying Casey is still seeking a princely sum for her first on-camera interview.

A year ago when she was released, some outlets claimed she wanted a million dollars. Well, then of course, we all learned through the trial that one network paid Casey more than 200 grand in licensing fees, and the blowback was huge. It was highly criticized.

And by the way, you can read my op-ed on HLNTV.com. Mark my words, Lisa Bloom, legal analyst for Avo.com and author of "Swagger," speaking of swagger, this was a very calculated move, I think, on Casey Anthony`s part with, I think, the cooperation of her attorney.

LISA BLOOM, LEGAL ANALYST: Well, I`ll tell you something, if she wants to sell the first interview, she should not be talking now. I mean, If I can just be cynical for a moment. The way that you get top dollar for an interview or book deal is by keeping your mouth shut, by keeping all of the secrets inside, and that`s what you sell for the TV interview or for the book interview.

But nevertheless, I think she could still get a million dollars, I`m sorry to say. I think that`s what she wants. Probably there`s a show out there that will pay it. Not HLN, not CNN, but somewhere else I think it could happen.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I don`t know. Jen Hager, assistant managing editor of RadarOnline.com, there was blowback to the network that paid 200 grand. And so I think the networks are kind of afraid of getting in bed, so to speak, with Casey Anthony, because if it comes out that they did pay her a million dollars, there`s going to be blowback.

JEN HAGER, ASSISTANT MANAGING EDITOR, RADARONLINE.COM: I absolutely agree with you, Jane. You know, I want to read a partial transcript of what Cheney Mason said last night to Piers Morgan in regards to Casey Anthony not accepting any money, not trying to make a profit on this.

He said, you know, basically that he -- they`re sitting back. They`re taking -- they`re looking at what other people are doing. And there is a time and a place when Casey will have her story told. When she will tell her side of the story.

Well, is that going to be in a book deal? Is that going to be a television interview? I think at some point in the very near future, we are going to see Casey Anthony in front of cameras, most likely being paid by some media outlet.

Let me be very clear that RadarOnline.com will never pay one cent to Casey Anthony for any interview, photographs or anything.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes. And neither will we, obviously. Jayne Weintraub, criminal defense attorney out of Miami, you have been a Casey Anthony defender, oftentimes on this show. You`re close to the defense team. What say you to all of us cynics who say this was calculated?

JAYNE WEINTRAUB, CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Well, I mean, let`s take one step back. Did it ever occur to you that Casey might feel the dust has settled, it`s been some time, and she really just wants to tell the truth? I know that doesn`t occur to any of you that are on this panel, but that`s what I personally think.

This is somebody who was found not guilty. This is somebody that was convicted by the press, no offense, Jane. This is somebody who literally has had her life turned inside out publicly. And you know what? There`s nothing wrong with her selling her story, her side of the story, if there`s a want in the public to hear it. There`s nothing wrong with it.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I think that the public has said time and time they don`t want to hear it, because they regard her as an habitual liar. So they don`t think anything she`s going to put in print is going to be any more truthful than what she told cops, which was one lie after the other, that she worked at Universal Studios when she didn`t, that she dropped the child off at the Sawgrass Apartments, which she didn`t, that she had a nanny named Zanny, which she didn`t. The list goes on and on, Jayne.

WEINTRAUB: Jane, she was scared out of her wits, and until you`ve been interrogated or seen one of these interrogations -- why do you think there are false confessions?

And we know that there are many false confessions that DNA has exonerated.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Robyn Walensky, help me out here.

WEINTRAUB: I mean, people are scared by the police.

WALENSKY: Jane, shy of Casey Anthony writing in a book or telling someone in a magazine how she did it, how she mixed the witch`s brew, how she put the chloroform over little Caylee, that she admits to killing her daughter, nobody`s going to buy her story. America and the world think she murdered her little daughter. Period.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Unbelievable. This is the hit movie based on the book which is about -- it`s from Lionsgate. It`s about children dying as part of some kind of game that`s televised live on TV. Eerie, creepy, parallel somewhere in there.

CALLER: Hi, Jane, love you and your show.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Thank you.

CALLER: I followed the trial with Nancy Grace from beginning to end. And when Cindy went to visit Casey Anthony in jail, Cindy had stated that the new theory is that she drowned. Casey Anthony`s reaction was like, no, it didn`t happen.

I hope nobody buys nothing of her. She`s nothing but a murdering skank. And I hope somebody nails her.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, you raise a very good point, because she did say when they -- Cindy approached her with the possibility, well, maybe it was a drowning, honey. Maybe it was a big accident. And she`s like, yes, right.

Right, Robyn? I mean, her reaction was total sarcasm. And yet that`s exactly what they claimed on opening day of the trial, was that, oh, yes, she drowned. And now there she is crying and acting all like crushed by this same thing that she was sarcastically dismissing when she was behind bars.

WALENSKY: Yes. The exact quote from mommy was she goes in there and she says, "Oh, the latest -- you`re never going to believe what the press is saying now. Oh, that little Caylee drowned in the pool."

And she totally dismisses it, not even knowing that she`s being recorded. So that theory, I thought the whole Jose Baez, when he brought that in was just the most bogus scenario that ever lived.

I just want to say this. You know, from the Piers Morgan interview -- and I watched it all last night, Jane -- you know, the big nugget for me in all this is what Casey`s saying: "I`m 26 now, and I`ve gone through hell."

What about the hell of little Caylee who was chloroformed repeatedly? Who was forced to sleep in bed, as testimony showed, with Casey and some of her various boyfriends? That all three of them would sleep in the same bed. Hold on...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Jayne Weintraub is laughing.

WEINTRAUB: I`m appalled. I`m just appalled at the spin that this woman, that this author, is putting on it. And mocking. That a lawyer would make things up, No. 1.

No. 2, to bring up her character evidence and the fact that there is so much chloroform. There was so much chloroform, Jane, that it was basically inadmissible and not believed, rejected by the jury.

There was so much chloroform there wasn`t even as much as was on a nail bed. And we all know...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Casey Anthony talking on the phone to Piers Morgan, saying she`s been through hell. What about the real Zenaida Gonzalez? There`s Zenaida Gonzalez, the real Zenaida Gonzalez.

But Casey said Zanny the nanny kidnapped, essentially little Caylee, blaming Zanny. And this ruined the real Zenaida`s reputation.

John Dill, attorney working with Zenaida Gonzalez, your civil suit against Casey Anthony is on the horizon. I under -- first of all, your reaction to what Casey had to say to Piers?

JOHN DILL, ATTORNEY FOR ZENAIDA GONZALEZ: Well, I thought it was funny that suddenly she wants to talk, and we`ve been trying to get her to talk for a couple years now. If she wants to talk in January up on the 23rd of the -- 23rd floor of the courthouse, she`ll be welcome to talk then. She`s under subpoena, so we hope to hear from her.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I understand that you actually have her address because you had to subpoena her, correct?

DILL: Well, we -- we`ve subpoenaed her through Chase -- Cheney Mason, actually, who accepted the subpoena. So we expect her to be there. She`s required to be there through the law. We want her to answer questions.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: But she`s been taking the fifth. She has not been...

DILL: It`s interesting, isn`t it?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes.

DILL: She`s taken the Fifth Amendment, yet she`s talking to Piers Morgan about how she`s sorry for what happened about how she lied to the police. So it will be interesting to see if she`ll answer our questions. And we hope she will.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, Lisa Bloom, what do you make of that? Here she`s talking to Piers Morgan, and yet any time she has to appear in the Zenaida Gonzalez case, she takes the Fifth and says, "I will not answer."

BLOOM: I`d have to say, she`s doing what any litigant would do. She`s trying to avoid answering questions if there`s a legal way of doing it and because her misdemeanor charges where she was found guilty of lying to police are now up on appeal. I suppose she can still claim that.

So I wouldn`t hold my breath waiting for her to appear in that civil case, frankly. But I agree. Let her tell her story. Come on camera, Casey. Have an experienced journalist ask you questions where you can answer the questions. We`d all love to hear your point of view.

I think she may be reluctant to give an interview of any kind, because she knows she lied, and she knows any intelligent interviewer is going to nail her.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: John Dill, would it be correct to say she just filed this appeal on her lying convictions that she may have been delaying that so that they wouldn`t decide it before the start of the civil trial so that when the civil trial came along it would still be up in the air and she could still take the Fifth once again?

DILL: Well, I think that`s possible. You know, of course if she wins the appeal, then there will be no Fifth Amendment. That will be interesting. We`re going to ask her the questions anyway, and hopefully, she`ll answer them. After all, she just wants to tell truth. Now is the time in January.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Breaking news, Casey Anthony of course, we all know has been holed up for months after being found not guilty of killing her daughter Caylee. Well, now she is talking to CNN`s Piers Morgan, breaking her silence.

The latest Casey rumor was that she had gained a whole ton of weight. Well, Casey went out of her way to tell Piers no way. Listen to this.

MORGAN: She said to me, "I do not weigh 500 pounds as one magazine has stated. And I`m not moving to Costa Rica."

MASON: I can assure you that she doesn`t weigh 500 pounds. It`s doubtful that she weighs 120 pounds. Costa Rica, I don`t know where that comes from. I know where any of this stuff comes from.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, we all know that Casey was a looker last time we saw her. And she engaged in hot body contests, et cetera, et cetera. Now, the story about her gaining weight came from RadarOnline.

Assistant managing editor Jen Hager or RadarOnline, you heard it there, Casey Anthony saying, "No, I did not get heavy. I have not put on a ton of weight." What say you?

HAGER: Well, our eyewitness tell us that she has put on weight. RadarOnline.com never said she weighed 500 pounds.

But, Jane, you know, we have to remember that this is someone that has been convicted of lying to the police. You know, those are very serious charges. I understand they`re misdemeanor charges, but those are very serious offenses to be convicted of, first and foremost.

Secondly, her own attorney said that she doesn`t watch the news. She doesn`t watch television programs. Well, for someone that doesn`t watch the news, she certainly seems to be very in tune with what the media and the public are saying about her.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, you`re saying that you have somebody who`s actually seen her, because she`s in hiding, presumably in Florida, where she`s supposed to remain.

HAGER: Yes.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And I guess nobody`s seen her except for the video diary she came out with at one point where she was wearing sunglasses or glasses and weird hair. You`re saying somebody that you trust and know has seen her and she`s put on weight?

HAGER: Absolutely. She has put on weight. "People" magazine also reported that she put on a lot of weight and that she was also very depressed.

I think it`s very interesting that Casey Anthony went out of her way, like you said, at least two or three times during her telephone interview with Piers to tell him she was not fat. She was working out.

And then her attorney, Cheney Mason, made two or three mentions of this.

When is this young woman going to accept responsibility for her actions? That`s all I ask. When is she -- I did not hear any remorse from her whatsoever in that telephone interview last night. We didn`t get to hear it --

VELEZ-MITCHELL: In fact, yes, she had a lot of self-pity. She was going through hell. She`s in a prison of her own making. It`s her own making, though.

KAREN: Hello, Jane. Thank you for taking my call.

KAREN: My sister Linda and I have followed this since the very beginning. And I certainly hope the public does not want to give her any pity. She does not deserve any pity from anybody. If she doesn`t -- if she says she didn`t kill her, then she knows who did because she`s the only one that had that baby. She was the only one that was near that baby all that time.

So if she does write a book, Gonzalez should be the one to get the money, not her. She ruined another family with all her lies. And that`s all the public knows is all she can do is lie.

Rob Lowe, in Winnipeg to shoot a made-for-TV movie, has stirred up anger after writing a message on Twitter Tuesday night that ended with the hashtag "#Trappedinahellhole".

Lowe was complaining about how he was watching the NBA playoffs on TV when the station interrupted the game for coverage of municipal elections. However, there were no municipal elections in Manitoba Tuesday — Lowe was likely watching a TV station based across the border in Grand Forks, N.D.

Winnipeg residents quickly fired back on Twitter, calling Lowe a jerk, a schmuck and other names.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Two high-profile attorneys for the former head of the Republican Party of Florida are asking to withdraw from his criminal case.

Cheney Mason and Donald Lykkebak filed motions this week asking to step down.

They cited "irreconcilable differences" in the handling of this case. Neither Mason nor Lykkebak returned phone calls Thursday seeking further explanation.

I had to be in Orlando for the past 3 days and just returned home. I went to see the tree for myself and wow it is so different in person. Everything that my fellow monks said about the site was true. The scale of the area from photos do no do justice to how SMALL this area is. It had just rained when I arrived there at about 6pm. There was a mist rising from the street which increased the eerie factor. The distance from the corner of Hopespring to the school is minimal..and the spot where she was found is close..so close to the road. My son looked and said, what a lazy b***h...
I do not think the Ants live in their Hopespring house at this time. Lee's mustang was in the driveway along with a black SUV.. And every 10 mins or so another car would go past caylees site.. The area was clean... the property still has the for sale sign....and sale pending under it. The Ants street was rather narrow, and I thought about when they had police, news crews and looky loos like me in the neighborhood and I cannot imagine the gridlock. We took cell pics but they are not really any different than what we have all already seen. I left there just shaking my head.. So close to the house.. Only 1 way into the neighborhood.. Stupid jury with no common sense........2+2=6

You know Desi, when flamom posted about going to Caylee's remains site, all those images that you posted above came racing to my mind. How her little body was spread so far and wide, how everything found with her came from her home and how close to the street she was dumped. The killer can write all she wants, we know the truth and she knows we know. I can only hope her acquittal leaves her with no peace, forever. I'd actually like her to live in fear the rest of her life, never knowing when someone as demented as herself, will cut her out.  She thrives on being in the spotlight, no matter the situation, it's all about her. That is something that will never again happen in her Bella Vita.

Thanks for the pictures flamom.  I think all of us I know that have gone all felt the same thing. Great sadness, anger and dis-belief.  When hubs and I went the house felt empty. It looks like Lee & Mallory are living there now. Wonder where the sperm donors are living now.

Thanks Klaas for posting the video and Thanks alagary for finding it. The Anthony's can keep taking all the crosses down and take away the toys but people will just keep bringing them. That just haven't gotten it that we wont forget Caylee.

I am in Orlando for a few days and there are a few things that I would like to look at here in regards to Michelle Parker, Tracy Ocasio and Jennifer Kesse.  Anyone have any advise or ideas.  I have been looking at the traffic here...and I just don't see how Dale was not seen in that Hummer (well per my theory...)...someone just isn't remembering seeing him...but the roads are packed...always...especially at that time of day.  Just let me know.  I am running off for a bit...I will keep checking.  I was hoping to run into the devil herself... ::MonkeyMad::

I have worked a great deal on cases in this area over the last few years, and know it well.  I have not worked on Ms. Parker's case although I am familiar with it, and know the general area.

I wish I could recommend a specific location to further a case, if that is what you are looking for, but honestly, anything I am aware of is not something that should be "searched"  without a team, and even then,  I would be giving my best guestimate only.

I so respect you for asking the question labubske, wish I had a better answer.  Godspeed in your travels.

"Casey has been keeping a journal and spends the majority of her days now writing," a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. "She has also been spending a lot of time going through her past journal entries and including excerpts that she wants included in a book that she wants to write.

“Make no mistake, Casey will absolutely be releasing a book, it's just a matter of time. Casey feels this is the only way that she can get her story out and she feels that the public wants to hear from her. It's unlikely that Casey will have to submit a book proposal and her lawyer, Cheney Mason, has been in discussions with several different publishers, although the response from most has been lukewarm at best.

Good thought!  I don't know anything about how those things work....when someone donates, it automatically shows or does/can it be entered by the owner?    You would at least think that the person that set this up would have donated something, just to make it appear as if there are donors.

I am so happy with the sandusky verdict and had such a flood of emotions that justice was served for these young men, then i felt an ache in my heart that caylee didn't receive this same justice last year.  it made me so upset and brought me back to that day last year when the pinelles pin heads were derelict in their duties as jurors...

i guess it just shows how upset i still am about the denial of justice for Caylee  :(

Back from my day trip to Orlando yesterday.Had to drop my son off at UCF and
of course I made a side trip to pay my respects to Caylee..Passed the Ants house and the black Ford suv was there..No sign of the mustang or the Ants. BUT.. the truck had
a QUINCO sign on the drivers side..I guess they all work for the electrical guy now.I bet he has set the Ants up somewhere else...Looks like Hopespring is Lee and Mallorys.
I will be back there in 6 weeks..

I don't think we need to worry about Indiegogo itself. They are the same ones that handled funds for the school bus monitor.

I want to clarify a misconception about the book and the movie. Casey Anthony will not profit in any way from either period! Any photos used of her, and there are none in the movie to my knowledge are public and used regardless of her permission. I wouldn't participate in any endeavor that benefitted that evil woman. Please spread this message. I don't want the good folks working on the movie to be unfairly lumped in with those that are trying to trick the world into believing Casey's latest lies. ????  Is there a new batch of lies that I don't know about?

You know, I read the excerpt from the book too posted above and it said she DID land at St. George's Island!  I think I posted a tweet from someone last yr who had seen her at a bar but not taken a pic.  It was reported by our local ragmag that has no web addy that she was there staying at a home on the very expensive island in a home owned by one of the atty's.  Didn't someone here find a home there linked to slore's atty's?  I'm gonna say Bozo's memory is a little off like Casey's because I thought she landed at the Bay County (PFN) airport.  Am I wrong as usual or right?  Some smart Monkey straighten me out, lol!

bozo might have got a little fuzzy on details after "parking" at the lake.
