I am doing better. Son has gone three days without pain meds, but says he is still hurting some. We just wait and worry and hope for the best.

Our storms last night fizzled out by the time they reached us. Just some rain, and very little lightning and thunder. There was some wind damage not too far from us, but no tornadoes that I heard of.

Whew!

That's good there were no tornadoes.And the thunder and lightning weren't much.

 I am happy to hear you are feeling better and your son hasn't had to take any pain pills for a few days. Prayers you both continue to get better.

Ir's warm here today and humid. Haven't had much of that for awhile.

Yikes can.

Vertigo is a awful. I get it but not so severe I have to down. I can sit up but can't turn mu head.  My doctor gave me nose spray with steroids in them. After a couple days it seems to help. I walk around the house like I am drunk. Weaving from side to side.It feels like your brain is spinning inside your head. Prayers it doesn't last long.  ::MonkeyAngel::

I still think the bad seed did something to the puppy. She showed NO emotion whatsoever that the puppy was bleeding or had died. Bearly, I don't really know what happened to the puppy. My friend swears the big dog wasn't even in the room a minute before it happened and the big dog had no blood on it at all. I miss Trimm and hope she is safe too. Love the golfing monkey with a leopard hat!!!

Molly got her collar today for the in ground fencing....she lost a bit of her wildness today...totally different puppy..not sure how long it will last but it at least keeping her safe in our back yard..she was really starting to wander to different neighbors yards...

That's what I thought too and that's why I posted about my experience with combining doggies.  Reading back, I realize now what JSM meant.   ::MonkeyEek::  ::MonkeyNoNo:: 

If the dog killed the puppy, I could at least understand it as unfortunate and sad as it might be.  But if it wasn't the dog that did it and the "bad seed" did, I find that a thousand times worse.   ::MonkeyNoNo::  That's really scary.

The vet came out and did a chest x-ray and drew blood. He has CHF (same thing Furby had). He gave him a shot and yesterday brought out a prescription for him. He seems to be doing better today. Just like Furby as long as the meds work and he has a good quality of life will continue with treatment. Thanks for everyone's concern.

Your experience is a very sound bit of advice Muffy.  Chuckle when I think of the authority your 5 pound Yorkies wield.

Not only should there be no dogs or pets of any kind in that environment I would be most concerned about babies or children visiting.  Hope Mom sees the light and looks to get help with issues surrounding daughter.  Before it is too late!  imo

But heck, got a call about an hour ago from another Texas city government agency and have an interview lined up for 4/5 and for $22K more than Dallas County.

Every day on my drive to work there is a commercial for MediFast and the phone number is something like 1-888-525-TRIM
When I hear that commercial I think of our friend Trimm and it makes me sad.

He's a large animal vet does farm calls and his truck contains everything from x-ray to ultrasound, running water and everything to perform surgery. I always pay for a farm call and then have everybody taken care of at the same time. Costs less than paying office visit fees for 5 dogs.

Oldest grand son and daughter came to pick up youngest grandson as he comes here after school. They were her 20 minutes. In that 20 minutes oldest grandson had two handfuls of cheez-its two hand fulls of Cheetos a Twinkies, 2 Reese's candies a Dr. Pepper and ice cream cone. And was headed back to the kitchen for more when his mom said they were leaving. ::MonkeyHaHa:: ::MonkeyHaHa:: ::MonkeyHaHa:: I swear kids at that age have hallow legs. ::MonkeyHaHa::

And stop and think - you gotta transport all those critters to his clinic - otherwise!!  How awesome your vet is able to do all that!

Lot going on here and though I know I am blessed so much, feeling the weight of some of the issues.  Connie will probably not be going back to the job assessment as she was tearing paper for recycle with her teeth.  The evaluator thought it too demeaning and too unsanitary.  Connie is extremely disappointed.
Another death so another funeral this weekend.
The man who has been helping me get George to his appointments has found a job at Home Depot (which I am so glad for him), but that leaves a huge gap in the caregiving.
The list goes on.  Trials and tribulations . . . but it will work out just fine, it always does.  It's just the process which has been a wee bit discouraging at this point.

You are in my prayers.  As Tigger would say, "It's always darkest just before the lawn."

I have not written some of the things going on here which had me hanging on by a thread.  In the last cay or two, that thread has become stronger.  My Dad's nurse was on vacation and the horror show that ensued was beyond anything anyone should have to endure.  I so want to take him home with me.

There were other things, but his nurse is back now and things are better, not good, never good there, but better.

Praying for all who have unspoken needs.

I'm worried too.  Just don't know what to do next.  Not sure a thread would help but if you want to set one up go ahead.  If for no reason than for her to see when she returns (if she returns) how much we were worried about her.

Is the job assessment an agency that evaluates then places person in a suitable environment?  Is the prospective job volunteer work or paid work?

My brother completed his cancer treatments last week! 
He will see the urologist on 15th May. 
Don't know why he has to wait so long to see if the treatments helped particularly when bladder cancer is a fast growing cancer.

I didn't ask my brother, dont wish to appear negative. 

He's making a trip down in a couple of weeks and will be staying with us.  Talking face to face is so much more enlightening.

I understand your concern Can, and I'm hoping and praying your brother's treatment results were successful and he has a good recovery. Being able to see one another face to face will be good.   ::MonkeyAngel::

Can, thank you and everyone for your prayers.  It is just sinking in with Connie and she is extremely depressed.  It is so difficult to be turned down for work.  Of course, her inability to talk is the biggest obstacle on so many levels.  She was hysterical yesterday cause no body wants her.  I'm headed to her house now.  She has been volunteering where she gets speech therapy, however, transportation is a huge problem. I live 45 minutes away, her sons and daughter-in-law work, it is not impossible, but . . .
I am trusting God to give me the wisdom to find a solution to help her.  I feel her pain as if it was my own.

Just got a call from the fraud division of my bank and apparently odd purchases have been made with my Visa/ATM card. They included France and S.America. So now it will take 7 - 10 days to get those funds back into my account again. My card is cancelled and will be replaced in a week.....GIVE ME CHOCOLATE !!!!!

Wow. You are having a couple of weeks there. Glad they caught it and am going to get the money back to you. S. America is a common place because of the inability to get money in or out of the country - so they buy things they can ship back to them and sell for cash. My SIL is from Brazil and when they go down there they can not even take much money in.

"This is a serious situation," the NBC affiliate reported over the air, as meteorologists showed live footage of "debris balls" in Dallas and Tarrant counties.

Live video showed a huge funnel cloud moving through a populated area as flashes of exploding power lines lit the sky.

Other video showed large trucks being flung through the air. "There's lots of 18-wheelers," said an NBCDFW correspondent near Arlington. "I've never seen this before."

Severe storms in the Metroplex spawned at least two tornadoes that injured several people, damaged homes and tossed big-rigs into the air.

At 2 p.m., the Tarrant County tornado is tracking directly toward DFW International Airport. Passengers and employees have been advised to seek shelter immediately.

Johnson, Tarrant County Tornado

At about 12:45 p.m., rotation was spotted near the northeast section of Johnson County as the storm moved north toward Burleson. Considerable damage to at least four homes has been reported in the wake of the storm.

That cell moved northeast into southern and eastern Tarrant County toward Mansfield and southwest Arlington.  NBC 5 stormspotter Marin Licious said the funnel cloud had touched down in Rendon near Farm-to-Market Road 1187.
At 1:17 p.m., the rotation was spotted near Rendon and Mansfield heading north toward southwest Arlington.

At 1:31 p.m., the rotation was near the intersection of state Highway 287 and Interstate 20 and moving north to the northeast.

At 1:36 p.m., the tornado was headed toward UTA, Pantego, Dalworthington Gardens and west and north Arlington.

At 1:54 p.m., as the storm began to pass over I-30 near Six Flags it began to again form a hook echo and stabilize.  It was tracking toward Euless and DFW International Airport where passengers and employees have been advised to seek shelter.

A tornado emergency has been declared for this storm. Anyone in the path of this storm is advised to seek shelter immediately.

Dallas, Ellis County Tornado

Just before 1 p.m., a second tornado was spotted in Ellis County near Ovilla headed north into DeSoto.  At 1:09 p.m. the hoook echo was spotted over Glenn Heights.  At 1:11 p.m. the rain-wrapped tornado was spotted by Chopper 5 moving into southern Dallas County.

Red Oak police said the tornado touched down on the ground off of Ovilla Road and Interstate 35 in the Harmony neighborhood.

In Lancaster, cars were overturned and roofs ripped from homes near Wintergreen and Roan.  NBC 5's Ken Kalthoff said some people were injured and that people stumbled from their homes confused and scared following the storm.

At 1:23 p.m., the tornado is east of I-35 and tracking north toward the city of Dallas.

At 1:34 p.m., 18-wheelers were seen being thrown into the air by the tornado near I-20 and Interstate 45.

A tornado emergency has been declared for south Dallas County. Anyone in the path of this storm is advised to seek shelter immediately.

According to Oncor, there are about 25,000 customers in DFW without power at 2 p.m.

Tornadoes roll through Dallas-Fort Worth area
(CBS/AP) BURLESON, Texas - The National Weather Service says tornadoes have touched down in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and there is at least one report of damage.

Weather service advisories issued Tuesday said storm spotters and radar revealed separate tornadoes south of Dallas and Fort Worth. The weather service says the tornado south of Fort Worth caused "considerable damage" near Cleburne.

Local television footage shows a large funnel cloud on the ground near Interstate 35 south of Dallas. The weather service says the "large and extremely dangerous" tornado was near Lancaster about 20 miles south of Dallas and moving north.

The weather service is also reporting other developing tornadoes as a band of severe storms moves through the area.

A tornado watch is in effect for most of the counties in north Texas.

Executive director of Johnson County Emergency Services, Mike Johnson, reported that he could see a funnel cloud close to the Joshua, Cleburne border, according to CBS affiliate KTVT Dallas.

Had a Code Black at the hospital, so when we came back inside they told us to go to the cafeteria  ::MonkeyCool:: NOPE, we went back to "work" Then the storm split again and got more rain. Patton was at daycare, they moved all the dogs in the middle cages and made sure he was not in danger. They told me if it got really bad, they would have put him in the bathroom with the employees. Praying for all of you and I am going to catch up tomorrow.

It sure was a wild day yesterday. Glad everybody was safe. So far I haven't heard any news of anyone being seriously hurt yesterday so that's wonderful. Prayers for all the families that lost their homes.

The girl in this vid is our 2nd floor neighbor and friend, Melissa.  We were on our way to Wally World for me to buy new sandals and got about 3 blocks from home when she got really scared, turned on the radio, and heard that a tornado was heading straight towards us.  She then made me drive back home and a babysat her for the duration of the storm.  My first tornado party!!!

Glad that everyone is safe!

All my relatives in the Dallas area came through with no injuries or property damage, but I have a nephew in Tyler whose home was struck by lightning.  It fried eight breakers, the a/c unit and a tv set, but there was no fire and fortunately no injuries.  My nephew, his wife and their 5 year old son and two year old daughter were all at home at the time and they said the big bang was really frightening, but are of course happy they're all okay.

I am glad they are all safe. I remember when I was a kid and a storm came through at night. Mom and I were sitting at the kitchen table and lightening hit the antenna outside the window. We about peed in our pants!

Just a quick note about lightning strikes... I was told by a firefighter to be sure to call them if you think your home may have been hit by lightning.  Even if you're not sure it was hit by lightning and you can't see anything, call them. Don't go back to bed!  This article explains it.  About two years ago, one of my neighbors heard a loud boom during a thunderstorm, so they got out of bed, looked around and went back to sleep.  About a half hour later, the house was engulfed in smoke and flames.  They got out of the house,  but the house was a total loss.  Firemen can use thermal guns (imaging) to check the walls for heat, they can go up in the attic and etc.
