Franklin County authorities are looking for a missing woman last seen at her home in Rocky Mount Monday afternoon.

Heather Dilian Hodges, 22, was reported missing by her family Thursday. Her 2-year-old child is staying with family, said Capt. Harry Clingenpeel with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

“Nobody’s heard anything from her. She hasn’t called to check on the child or anything like that,” Clingenpeel said. “That’s out of the ordinary.”

Tips turn up no new information on missing Rocky Mount woman

Several leads have turned up no new information in the case of a missing Rocky Mount woman.

Heather Dialian Hodges, 22, was reported missing by her family Thursday. Her 2-year-old child is staying with family, said Capt. Harry Clingenpeel with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

“We’ve had several calls with possible leads, and officers have followed up, but we’re had no success,” Clingenpeel said.

Hodges has not been seen since Monday around 10:30 p.m., when she left her child with family members. She has not called to check in with family, which is unusual, he said.

They had no idea where she was going, he said.

They say all of her personal belongings were still at home. Plus, she normally checks in with family if she left town to make sure her young child is okay.

Investigators say they've had teams searching the area. But, they've turned up nothing.

Franklin Co., VA - The Franklin County Sheriff's Department is asking for your help in tracking down a missing woman who has not been heard from since Monday.

The family of Heather Hodges, 22, filed a missing persons report after the young woman's boyfriend said she disappeared.

The sheriff's office isn't calling it suspicious yet, but officials say they have grave concern.

The mother of a 2-year-old supposedly turned up missing when her live-in boyfriend went to get her ice cream. The last time Crystal Hodges saw her sister Heather, she had dropped her off at Heather's home just north of Rocky Mount the morning after Easter.

"We got a call later on that night...him crying saying she had sent him to Dairy Queen to get her a Blizzard and when he got back she was gone," said Crystal Hodges Heather's sister.

Hodges does have a history of taking off for a day or so ,but she always checks in according to family especially since the birth of her daughter.

According to investigators, nothing else is missing, which is what has Franklin County detectives concerned.

"The main concern we have at this point is that she has a child, a young child, and she has not called any family members to check on that child and that is highly out of the ordinary for her."

The Hodges family says the relationship between Heather and her 40-year-old boyfriend goes back some 10 years. They call the relationship abusive and controlling.

Heather's mother even claimed to have domestic charges pending against him. He is also the last person, that anyone knows of, to see Heather Hodges alive, which has the family thinking the worst.

The sister says that just two weeks ago Heather told her that if something happened to her she is not suicidal and to never stop looking for her in order to bring her envisioned murderer to justice.

While no one is suggesting Hodges is dead, the family has a cold feeling over them Friday.

Well reading the initial reports...the thing that stands out to me the MOST at this point is if she has a history of leaving for a day why would the boyfriend call the family crying...would he be this upset yet?  What is his history in calling the family when she was discovered to be "missing" in the past?  Maybe it's nothing...it just stood out to me.  Also, how soon after he returned did he call the family?  Wouldn't he go to neighbors first and look around the area...however, if he was guilty of something he would know she is gone and call the family sooner...

I wish I knew the boyfriends name.  I am suspicious of him as well.

If they've had a relationship for the last 10 years........That would made  Heather approx. 12-13 years old, thats rediculous, allowing her anywhere near a man 30 years old

Franklin County deputies still searching for missing woman

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the search for a Franklin County woman who’s been missing for a week now.

22-year-old Heather Dialian Hodges was last seen by her boyfriend, Paul R. Jordan II, on Monday, April 9, 2012 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Jordan, who’s 39-years-old, advised deputies that he left the residence they shared in Franklin County for approximately ten minutes and upon returning was unable to locate Heather.

Reported sightings of Heather Hodges found unreliable

FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA --
While Heather Hodges' mother told 10 On Your Side off camera that she's convinced something bad might have happened to her daughter, investigators will tell you that they have to put their emotions aside and focus on the facts.

Franklin County sheriff's office lieutenant Todd Maxey said Hodges has been known to leave town before on her own free will.

"It's every possibility that she's missing because she wants to be," Maxey said.

However, Maxey said the key difference this time is that Hodges has been gone for so long without calling anybody.

He said, on occasions before, she would reach out to some member of her family after one to two days.

So investigators are also looking at the possibility that Hodges might be in trouble.

Family Want Answers, Officials Need Tips in Missing Woman Case

Franklin Co., VA - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office held a press conference Monday about the disappearance of Heather Hodges, 22, who has been missing two weeks now.

Her live-in boyfriend says she disappeared during the 10 minutes he left to pick her up a Blizzard from the Dairy Queen in Wirtz. Her family hasn't seen or heard from her since.

Officials with the sheriff's department will not call the case a crime because there is no evidence one has occurred.

Hodges is an adult and can come and go as she pleases. But there are circumstances that have investigators very concerned, including the fact that Hodges left behind a 2-year old daughter and that the only thing that is missing is Hodges herself. Her car, purse and cell phone are all accounted for.

Hodges hasn't tried to contact her daughter. According to family members, Hodges had been having trouble with her boyfriend and had been staying with family members Easter week.

The day after Easter, they say Hodges decided to return home to her boyfriend and was dropped off early Monday morning by her sister.

She was supposed to pick Hodges back up a few hours later, but when she called, the boyfriend told her Hodges was sleeping.

About 13 hours later, that same man called Hodges's family, frantic, saying she disappeared in the 10 minutes he left her alone to get her a blizzard from Dairy Queen.

That boyfriend is said to be cooperating with authorities.

The sheriff's department really wants more tips because right now investigators don't have much new information.

"A lot of those tips have been sightings, but once we looked into those potential sightings, gathered more information to gather the factual time dates, they have all been prior to April the 9th," said Sheriff Bill Overton Jr. in Franklin County.

RANKLIN COUNTY, VA --

It's been an emotional two weeks for the family of missing Franklin County mom Heather Hodges.  And Monday, her sister made an emotional plea to the community.

"We ask today that anyone with any information please come forward to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office," said Crystal Hodges.  "I'm asking the surrounding communities and the whole nation to please help bring my baby sister home."

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says it has received few leads in the case and the ones they have received -- mostly possible sightings -- have turned up nothing.  Still investigators say they're "diligently" searching for her.

"No tip or possible sighting is too small for us to follow up on," said Lt. Todd Maxey, an investigator on the case.

Franklin County Sheriff Bill Overton says at this point they have no evidence of foul play in the case and it's being treated as a missing person's investigation, not a criminal one.  He did stress, however, that Hodges disappearance is unusual.

"We are concerned about the circumstances," said Overton. "Being a mother, not making contact, abruptly leaving without letting anyone know that she was going anywhere."

Investigators are asking for the public's help in finding Heather Hodges of Rocky Mount who has been missing for two weeks.

"No tip is too small," said Lt. Todd Maxey with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

At a press conference Monday afternoon in Rocky Mount, Crystal Hodges called her sister a dedicated mother to her 2-year-old daughter.

"That's why it is so unusual for her not to contact her family or the person keeping her daughter," Crystal Hodges said.

No one has been in contact with Heather Hodges since she was last seen by her boyfriend, Paul R. Jordan II, at the house they share on Shady Lane in Rocky Mount about 10:30 p.m. on April 9, according to Sheriff Bill Overton. Jordan reported Heather Hodges missing.

Jordan, 39, told investigators that he left the house for about 10 minutes and was unable to locate Hodges when he returned.

Overton said investigators are still in contact with Jordan and that he has been cooperative. Jordan is the only witness who saw Heather Hodges that evening, the sheriff added.

Heather Hodges did not take any of her personal belongings with her, and her vehicle is not missing, Overton said. Heather Hodges has left home in the past but not for this long and not without contacting family members, he added.

The case is being investigated as a missing person at this point, Overton said, because no evidence has been found of a crime.

I didn't realize she had just come home the day she went missing.  Was dropped off that morn by her sister and was gonna pick her back up in a few hours and when the sis called hubby answered and said she was asleep!  He had all day to get rid of her body!  LE hasn't served a warrant on this home and looked for clues to her disappearance by now then he's had quite a bit of time to dispose of ANY clue left behind!!!  I seriously believe he harmed her and did away with her!  Sorry, it's just quite apparent what went down!

Woman from Franklin County missing for two weeks

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office on Monday afternoon held a press conference in reference to missing Franklin County resident, Heather Hodges.

Hodges has been missing from Franklin County for two weeks now and little new information has surfaced in the last week, said Sgt. Phillip Young of the sheriff's office.

Sheriff  Bill Overton, as well as a member of Heather's family, addressed the media.

Franklin County mother still missing after six weeks

FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA --
With tears streaming down her face, Crystal Hodges, of Rocky Mount, still has so many questions about her sister's disappearance.

"We just need her home. We just need some closure. We need to know where she is," said Hodges.

Heather Hodges, who has been missing for more than 40 days, has had no contact with friends or family.

"We have a close group of friends and family, and she hasn't contacted any of us. That's how I know she just didn't run off," said Hodges.

A judge issued a warrant for the arrest of a Rocky Mount man charged with assault and battery when he failed to appear for a hearing in Franklin County General District Court Wednesday morning.

Paul Rievens Jordan II, 39, is charged with beating his girlfriend's mother, Paula L. Hodges of Ferrum, with a metal chair on April 5, according to the criminal complaint filed by Hodges.

Hodges said Jordan became angry, began beating her with a chair and "came after me with a baseball bat," the complaint alleges.

Hodges ran to the bathroom and eventually got away from her daughter's house on Shady Lane, just outside Rocky Mount, where the alleged assault occurred.

Hodges was treated for injuries at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, according to the police report. She sustained bruises on her head, face, back and right leg, which were documented with photographs.

Jordan has a long criminal history with three felony convictions for grand larceny and property destruction in 1992. Jordan's criminal record also includes eight misdemeanor convictions for assault, assault and battery, shoplifting, property destruction, obstructing justice and contributing to the delinquency of a minor from 1990 to 2009.

Jordan is the last person known to have contact with his girlfriend, Heather Hodges, 22, who has been missing since April 9.

Paula Hodges, who filed the assault charge, is Heather Hodges' mother.

Jordan told investigators that he left the house the couple shared on Shady Lane for about 10 minutes about 10:30 p.m. on April 9 and was unable to locate Heather Hodges when he returned.

Despite numerous searches, interviews and follow-ups on leads, investigators have been unable to locate Heather Hodges.

Heather Hodges missing case changed to criminal investigation

For 66 days, Heather Hodges disappearance was considered a "missing persons case." Flyers were hung all over town. Her picture was posted online. There were numerous searches and news conferences, but as investigators stepped back in front of the media, they are now dealing with a criminal investigation.

"We've been working this as a major crime since day one, to make sure we didn't miss anything," said Lt. Todd Maxey, the lead investigator for this case.

Lt. Todd Maxey said they now have forensic evidence and a person of interest. While investigators would not release any specific details, they say the evidence shows the young mother's dissappearance was related to a violent act.

As for the person of interest, Sheriff Bill Overton said that person was cooperative in the beginning, but as investigators dug deeper in the case, that changed.

"Initially we found individuals that were cooperative, then recently we've had interviews where people have not been cooperative and that does bring concern to us," said Sheriff Overton.

Sheriff Overton and Lt. Maxey said they are more optimistic than before, but they still do not know if Hodges is alive or dead.

Franklin County Sheriff Bill Overton said Monday that the status of the Heather Hodges case has been changed from a missing person case to a criminal investigation. Officials say they have a person of interest in the case.

ROCKY MOUNT -- The disappearance of 22-year-old Heather Hodges, reported more than two months ago as a missing person case, is now considered a criminal investigation, Franklin County Sheriff Bill Overton said Monday.

Lt. Todd Maxey said that the change was necessary after police discovered forensic evidence that suggests Hodges' disappearance was related to a "violent event."

"The outlook is starting to look grim," Maxey said.

Heather Hodges' sister Crystal Hodges said Monday it is hard to stay optimistic in light of the new evidence.

"You can't really prepare yourself for something like this," she said. "All I can do is hope and pray for the best."

Maxey would not comment on when or where the violent event took place, or elaborate on the new evidence. Overton stressed that with the new classification comes more pressure to keep information secure.

Police say that they are looking into a person of interest, as well as continuing to investigate any tips. The sheriff's office would not give any detail to suggest who the person of interest may be.

Today is Heather Hodges birthday, but instead of spending it with family, the young mother is still no where to be found.

"She was blessed to be with us for 22 years, but that's not long enough for me. I want my sister back. I need some closure," said Crystal Hodges, Heather Hodge's sister.

Hodges says her family is so desperate for closure, and they are still doing all they can to keep the case in the spotlight

Family of Missing Mother Pleads for New Leads

Rocky Mount, VA - Just over six months ago a 22-year-old Rocky Mount woman went missing leaving her 2-year old daughter behind.

Heather Hodges was reported missing by her live-in boyfriend April 9, and investigators believe it's suspicious.

Heather's family is begging for tips right now. Heather's sister Crystal Hodges says she is frustrated at the seemingly lack of progress in this case.

According to Heather's boyfriend, she was last seen at her house at 10:30 p.m. when her boyfriend left to get ice cream at a Dairy Queen in Wirtz. He was gone for about 10 minutes, and he says when he got back, she wasn't there.


Family says Heather had just gotten back to her boyfriend's home that morning after a domestic issue kept Heather away for several days prior.
