How do you promote poverty?
A few years ago, there was a small story that made news in Wisconsin. It involved some vacation proerpty in remove northern Wisconsin and served as a warning to folks looking for that weekend getaway. Years ago, there were Native Americans who lost their land for failure to pay property taxes to local government. The properties were sold and new people owned the land for decades/generations. From memory, the local tribe considered this to be racism and genocide. Recently, the local tribe took their power to close the road to these properties to anyone not paying for access. You can still own your property but cannot use the road to get to it. Some didn't have the money to pay for access, reportedly tens of thousands of dollars. Revenge? Racism? Genocide? Why are taxes on some groups racism and genocide? Taxes continue to destroy families of other groups? Take/confiscate their bread and butter? What's wrong with America today? just my humble opinions |
