Title: Lincoln v. Obama - Separated at birth?
Post by: WhiskeyGirl on January 13, 2013, 06:58:15 AM
I think the mass media and Washington would  like Americans to think Obama and Lincoln were separated at birth.  Previously, it was FDR, MLK...insert your bigger than life agent for change...

Alike?  Different?  I'm thinking there has never been two very different people.  One brought freedom to millions, the other is taking it away.

I recall that Lincoln was president during the Civil War.  At the time the nation broke with England, slavery was the global norm, not the exception.  The great American experiment gave individuals the right to plot their own destiny, keep the fruit of their labors.

Slavery was a fact of life.  Slavery existed in the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia...it wasn't a new concept.  FREEDOM was.

In the time after the war for independence, restrictions were placed on slavery.  Slavery wasn't tolerated every where.  Sometimes, 'slaves' won.  Watch Amistadt.

Slaves in America could work hard and never earn their freedom.  There was a dept that could never be repaid.  Their children were born into slavery, few if any could buy the freedom of their family members.  This was the world of Abraham Lincoln.

Slave owners argued (from memory of history class and tv documentaries) that they provided their workers with the best of everything--free housing, free food, free medical care, free clothing, old age insurance...the best.  What more could a slave want?

IF a slave tried to leave these idea circumstance, they were chased by bounty hunters, slave hunters, and dogs.  If you ran fast and hard enough, perhaps you could find a place that allowed one to live in peace and outside the boundary of the slave states.

This was the time of Lincoln.  A nation moving towards greater freedom for all individuals.

After Lincoln, slaves were free.  No longer did they labor with massive debts on their head.  Life wasn't perfect.

In modern fiction, Lincoln has become the hero of zombie movies.  Lincoln kills evil zombies.  Zombies that feed on others and contribute nothing to the common good.

What of Mr. Obama?

just my opinions

What of Mr. Obama?  What kind of zombies is he destroying?  Saving the nation from?

It seems like Mr. Obama is feeding the big zombie banks of Wall Street.  Big global zombie banks that feed and never return anything to the masses.

For some reason, Obama, like politicians that came before him, continues to add massive debt onto the backs of Americans.  Not just Americans in a few states that believe in slavery, on all Americans.

Can Americans ever pay back these massive debts?  Ever out run the bounty hunters, slave hunters, or dogs?  The IRS?  Never.

Maybe the children and grandchildren, and future generations will be free of this debt?

What do they get?  Seems like Obama's team promises free housing, free food, free medical care, and old age insurance.  What a great deal.  Bring on more 'free' stuff.  It's obvious the little people can't manage their own affairs.

Will the US be a freer nation after Obama's second term?  Enjoy prosperity?  Freedom?  Unlimited opportunies?

Or, will the nation continue on the path to despotism, poverty, despair?  Depression and dark times?

Never have two men been so different.  Why would one choose to evoke the image of a great leader?  A man who gave freedom to so many?

One man kills zombies.  Another man gives zombie banks an unlimited buffet paid for by generations of Americans and the protection of secrecy.

Separated at birth?  Science fiction?

just my humble opinions
