A page to aid in the search for our friend Sarah Majoras who went missing late Friday night Jan. 26th. Last seen crossing the New Hope Lambertville bridge and making a left on Lambert Lane. That was caught by the bridge cameras.

I would like to post FACTS here that have been given by the police and Mayor only. Please no speculation or hearsay. To dispel any myths that I've heard already. The dogs did not pick up a scent, there were no texts or calls from her phone. All your help is greatly need, she was a true friend to all of us and we want to find her asap.

URGENT---Please help us find our friend and bartender SARAH MAJORAS, missing from John and Peter's at 2am. She was last seen in a green camoflauge jacket, white knit hat, and glasses. She would have walked from New Hope to N. Union Street in Lambertville. This is very unlike her to not have gone home. We love her very much and want to know she's okay. If you know anything, contact New Hope PD, Lambertville PD, and John and Peter's.

Police Search for Missing New Hope Bartender

Investigators say 39-year-old Sarah Majoras, a beloved bartender at John and Peter’s Bar in New Hope, Pa., left the bar around 2 a.m. to walk to her home she shares with her boyfriend on North Union Street in Lambertville.

Police are currently waiting to get a search warrant to try and view surveillance video from a home near a bridge in the community where Majoras may have been. Investigators tell NBC10 they already have still images from the bridge however.

Police have questioned those who last saw her. They also say her boyfriend has been cooperative during the investigation.

Though her boyfriend called the bar to find out if she was still there he did not report her missing until two o'clock pm the following afternoon... twelve hours after she went missing.

"She was reported missing at around 2pm on Saturday by Mr Baker, according to the Hunterdon County Democrat."

LAMBERTVILLE--Police have recovered a body that appears to be missing Lambertville bartender Sarah Majoras from the Delaware & Raritan Canal this evening, officials announced.

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Kearns said the body found at approximately 5 p.m. today has not yet been positively identified as Majoras, but matches her description.

Authorities said Wednesday they believe a woman found dead in a canal in Lambertville, N.J., was Sarah Majoras, the New Hope bartender missing since early Saturday.

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Kearns said a body was found in the Delaware and Raritan Canal late in the afternoon.

"We recovered an individual in the D&R Canal," Kearns said. "We have not positively identified the individual, but the description matches Miss Majoras." He said her family has been notified.

Earlier in the day, searchers at the canal found a fur-trimmed leather boot that relatives said belonged to Majoras.

There is no way to word this that makes this statement less painful. A female body was found tonight by rescue crews in the Canal in Lambertville that does match the description of Sarah. It's excruciatingly hard to say that the search for Sarah might be over but we can not abandon the family that we have created over the past 4 days and for most - over the past 16 years. This community is testament alone to the overwhelming Love that we had for Sarah, the same Love that she showed all of us day in and day out. We ask that you reflect and grieve and reach out for support if you need it. Please reserve any rhetoric outside of those lines and instead convert that energy into a positive force and send it to her family and closest friends. As involved as we feel - it is unimaginable how they feel. Thank you everyone for everything - we did this together - Stay Strong for Sarah. Rest in Piece kind soul.

A freelance photographer snapped a photo of a boot caught in the D & R canal on Wednesday -- and the photo helped investigators find the body belived to be that of Sarah Majoras, a bartender who had been missing since early Saturday.

The photographer alerted police, and a short time later, search crews recovered what they believe is Majoras' body trapped in the water of that icy canal in Lambertville, New Jersey. The canal was near her home, and investigators believe she would have crossed the canal as she walked home that morning.

LAMBERTVILLE--Friends and coworkers of the missing Sarah Majoras remembered her and mused about her fate less an hour or so before what authorities suspect may be her body was found in the Delaware and Raritan Canal yesterday, Jan. 30.

Majoras has been missing since leaving John and Peter’s Pub in New Hope, Pa., at about 2 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, to walk to her North Union Street home.

The 39-year-old Majoras worked as a bartender at the pub for about 16 years, but she was at the bar as a customer that morning, her co-workers said.

Like Majoras, John and Peter’s bartender Chris Williams had come as a customer in the early hours of Saturday morning. Williams said he was standing next to Majoras at closing time.

She had had been drinking, Williams said, but wasn’t drunk. According to Williams, Majoras was a “very routine-oriented person,” and always walked home when she had been drinking. She had come to John and Peter’s after spending the evening listening to a friend’s band at Triumph Brewery in New Hope, Williams said.

Williams, working behind the bar yesterday at about 4 p.m., said he had left the bar that night before Majoras. He said he hadn’t been sleeping well since, for worry.

Investigators in Hunterdon County on Thursday confirmed they had positively identified a body found in Lambertville to be that of 39-year-old Sarah Majoras.
 
Majoras went missing early Saturday morning after she left John and Peter's, a bar on Main Street in New Hope.

A medical examiner made the identification Thursday, a day after a body was removed from a Lambertville canal.
 
"Preliminary results from the medical examiner do not indicate anything suspicious," Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns said. "At this time, all indications are that Sarah's death was a tragic accident. Our case remains active so that we can provide Sarah's family and friends with factual information and answers to help them cope with their loss."

“All of Sarah’s personal property, including cash, identification, wallet, keys, and flashlight were in her possession. The official cause and manner of death from the medical examiner are pending toxicology results,” said Kearns.

Kearns also thanked Majoras’ friends and the community for organizing ground searches of the area. ” They were very organized and helpful. I commend this dedicated group for their teamwork and perseverance,” he said.
 
Maroras’ mother Judy used the Find Sarah Majoras Facebook page to thank the volunteers as well.  “It’s comforting to know that she was so cared for,” she wrote.
 
The page has set up a donation page to be used for a memorial fund “and/or reward.” Some on the Facebook page have suggested using the funds to install a railing or fencing on the tow path along the canal and additional surveillance cameras in Lambertville.

You're welcome, Mzzz Bee.  They said that it appears to have been a tragic accident, but will continue to investigate.  It's good to read that they will continue with the investigation, because it's the second death in the area since 2000--one of her friends.

We are planning a gathering to remember our friend Sarah Majoras this Saturday Feb 2nd at 5pm. Will be taking place at The Lambertville Station parking lot. My hope is this could be a nice night for the whole community to gather once more to celebrate an amazing persons life. Maybe try to find parking somewhere else and walk to the lot. I have a feeling lots are coming.

LAMBERTVILLE — Hundreds of friends gathered here Saturday evening for a candlelight vigil in memory of Sarah Majoras, whose body was found in the Delaware & Raritan Canal after a five-day search.

The gathering started around 5 p.m. in the Lambertville Station parking lot. The organizers handed out candles in plastic cups to light and candles were lit in white paper bags placed on both sides of the canal near the lot. Several friends spoke, and besides a musician playing the guitar, recordings were played of what they said were some of Sarah’s favorite songs. Mostly, it was people talking in small groups about their memories of Sarah.
