I have one quick second to post, but remembered something a friend used to say who had a phobia about death and having her body touched. She had a well in her back yard and used to say she had told her husband and children to put her own the well, instead of a proper burial. I'd never heard of such and she said someone else in her family did just that, of course 20 years prior, but his body was just put in a well. So they capped it, it was in a rural area of GA but I guess it wasn't easy to retrieve the body? I dunno, just didn't like talking about it then so I didn't ask too many questions, ya know? pretty creepy.......

Wasn't it also said that the VDS' had a new cap put on their cistern? Or am I remembering this incorrectly? I found this also, it would appear that there are cisterns larger than the one at the neighbor's of the VDS?

My inlaws were in Lincroft/Red Bank (bil still there) and they are now in Toms River.

Jacquie -- you make me smile everytime you refer to 'the shore'. I remember those trips to 'the shore' during high school and college with MUCH affection. Belmar to party. Avon by the Sea to sleep.

We visit the inlaws at least once every year and always drive around the shore to look at all the changes. I think you mentioned Barnegat to San -- WOW the changes.

DH and I spent a few nights in Long Branch on the beach in June -- a remodeled Ritz Carlton that used to be a Hilton. Also incredible changes in the area.

I have always thought that she fell and hit her head at the van der Sloot's pool. I think she was running, most likely trying to escape, fell into their pool, and drowned. I just do not still believe she was ever at the beach alive with Joran. The Sloot compound was the setting I think.

We had Hall & Oates for Hard Rock New Years 2005. Paid handsomely through ticketmaster. And we ended up not going as I spent New Year's in the emergency room (just stupidity on my part with carpal tunnel).

We ended up seeing Hall & Oates up at Mizner Park. The outdoor concert series is a BLAST in winter. And much less $$.

What if the big shot players on the island are simply a set of people who cannot tell the truth? They may simply not be psychologically able to to tell the truth.

Not if an autopsy was demanded by Natalee's family...and he knew full well that was a distinct possibility. Here was a well-educated American girl who was obviously was from a high class culture and background..Of course her family would demand an autopsy. An autopsy would reveal a virgin who had been molested...DNA would have told the tale as to who.  Of course a head injury would be a cinch to explain away with lies but  the head injury was the least of their worries.

ANSWER: I am in frequent touch with Natalee's mother, her lawyer, Joran's lawyer and many others in this case and sadly there is nothing new.

IMO, this is WAY bigger than a cover-up for a "simple murder" or accident gone awry. There are "BIG" players involved that prevent Aruba from mitigating the damage. The Van Der Sloots and Kalpoes simply don't merit the cover-up that is being waged here on their behalf.

She is crafty...and is well aware of the truth as she is lying. She's ignorant but not stupid.

After noticing something in the polis car tape the other day I am now almost completely convinced that the crime scene was the beach north of her hotel.   On the tape 2K repeatedly tell Joran he needs to tell the truth, and express confidence they are going home because they are telling the truth. His name? Michael Posner, owner (or one of the owners) of the Brickel Hotel situated in front of the big hotels in Malmok. In the past he was arrested in the state of Illinois for violation of the Ricco Act (racketeering) and because he was also involved in the world of prostitution.

He was condemned to 10 years in prison, but apparently he served 8 out of the 10 years. He appealed his case and lost the appeal! After he was released he was on parole for 5 years. His name is also mentioned as an associate of a notorious family.

DIARIO knows that the government is at the height of such people, and asks how he can be active in the casino industry of Aruba. How did he find a permit to work in this branch with the background that he has? How has the Minister of Justice still not taken action against him? Now that his criminal past is known, what is the government waiting for to take him out of Aruba?

During the [election] campaign which recently came to an end, many comments and rumours were circulating regarding contributions to certain politicians, including those in the [current] government. DIARIO hopes that the issue of campaign moneys remain a rumour, because if true, then there are more politicians for sale than is [already] apparent.

The presence of Michael Posner in the Aruba casino industry, with the criminal past that he has, does not speak well of the judicial control system, nor that of National Security, nor of those in charge to check the background of those who work in the tourism industry of Aruba.

Paulus is savy enough to realize that Natalee's family would demand their own coroner to do an autopsy.  Natalee was not a little island waif...I do not think there was evidence of bondage, etc. that concerned him...it was the possibility of internal DNA evidence exposing the culprit/s which spooked him.

She even seems amused at herself as she delivers the lies.

Since she is missing and presumed dead her family and her friends would have to be her character witnesses.
She had no prior history of leaving bars with strange people, taking drugs, or having sex.  Assuming that J2K lied about the HI drop-off, why would anyone believe them to be telling the truth now?  It's a possibility that it was consensual and then she just ran away, but that being what happened is slim to none.  Of course we are talking about an Aruban court where the trial is decided by one person, the judge.  And most likely that judge would be more inclined to protect Arubans, Dutch, and tourism.

I haven't looked yet, but I will.

Today is the 1 year anniversary of its inception. Many people have stated that the Natalee Holloway case sucked the oxygen from other missing person cases. I state just the opposite, it has attracted others to care about other cases.

We just went over the 300,000 mark today for MP. Thank you to all that read other cases. All missing persons matter.

In a way they are all attached to one another.

As I have said to Dave, Beth, Drew Kesse and others, missing persons parents are a select fraternity that no one wishes to be a member of.

6/1/05 Diario morning edition stated that Natalee was missing and that a suspect believed at first to be a Dutch tourist was taken in for questioning.

6/2/05 Fox news reported that Tito wrote for the AP news, "Police questioned and released three Aruban men who said they dropped Holloway off early Monday at the Holliday Inn, where she had been staying about 3 miles from the capital of Oranjestad, said police assistant inspector Jules Sambo. The three were not suspects, he said."

6/3/05 - CNN” reported, “…there were three people that they talked to. And those three individuals are on the island. They were spoken to once by officials -- interviewed. And we understand, according to some of our sources there, that they have been called back for a second interview” and “I think they`re kind of keeping it close to the vest, though I can tell you this. I was monitoring a conversation not long ago with a lieutenant who is in charge of one of the investigations there in Aruba. And he said, and I`m going to quote him now, that he expected there could be arrests soon. And then he said that they expected to have some more news tomorrow.”

6/305 -  SAMBO stated the police questioned and released three ARUBAN classmates who said they dropped HOLLOWAY off early Monday at the Holiday Inn “The three were not suspects” and “We don't have any indication as to if she is alive," Sambo said. "The whole population is aware that she is missing. The police are doing everything to find her."

We also know from Dave Holloway's many statements, that when he arrived on the island on 6/1/05 J2K had already been questioned and released.

I remember reading that it was in the afternoon, on Tuesday, when they went in for their first questioning.  Maybe it is from the Deepak/SKeeter interview, or one of Joran's interviews, but I remember it being mid-afternoon.

But have to ask you and any others that may happen on this post..

Given that you will always have those that will have something contrary / argumentative / nasty to say simply because they can and get  some sort of fulfillment / enjoyment of doing so.

Do other Missing persons cases have as much  "Negative" information / speculation (being nice here) about the the missing person or their family / friends being posted on the INTERNET or other media outlets?

Oldfart - it's been my experience that most highly publicized missing persons cases do have there share of victim and victim family bashers.  It's very sad but true.  There are alot of crazy people out there.

This is sort of O/T, but there has been some talk here in the past about the Coffee Pot Ghost site. There were frequent references there to Natalee's disappearance. No one has mentioned these last lines of the conversation in the back of the Police Van between Joran and the 2K's.  I think there is significant information here that might explain, in part, the seriousness of the coverup.  This is the first and only time that a weapon has been mentioned.  Satish admits he has a gun, and Joran taunts him with this.  Then, Deepak tells Joran (as if he is aware they might be overheard?) I just wondered if anyone thinks it unusual that Joran says, out of the blue, when talking about going home,  What do you think, that you are going home to get your gun?  Why does he even mention a gun and that Satish has one at home?  It seems like he is reminding Satish that he knows this--that Satish has a gun.  He's holding the information over his head like blackmail.  

The entire conversation seems to me like they are reminding each other of what information they have against each other.  In this case, and on this island, information is used against someone--a sort of emotional blackmail.  If someone doesn't do what he/she is told to do or agreed to do, then the person who holds the "information" against them will tell.  This is one more piece of information that Joran is reminding the brothers that he holds against Satish and uses to control Deepak.  Just possessing a gun, however, is not enough to control someone.  I think Joran is reminding Satish and Deepak that he knows what they did with Satish's gun.

Could be!  Maybe Joran found the gun on the floor as it slid out from under the front seat of the car.  And then he shot her as she was trying to run away.  I would think it would have to be somewhere remote like Arashi beach or the pond where no one would have heard the shot.  If it had happened at the Sloot home that noise would have been heard.  I guess it could have happened at the huts, but the fisherman might have heard it or not heard it b/c of the wind & surf.  I wonder if we will ever know the truth.  :(

If someone is shot point blank, there would be copius amounts of blood in the car.  If the wound was to the head there would be bone & other tissue as well.  There would definitely be spatter on the head liner, seats, windows, etc.  If it was that close though, the bullet would probably travel thru the person and lodge elsewhere.  Maybe it was an acidental firing from playing around with a gun while drunk and showing off.  Somehow, I don't think a gun was fired while they were inside the car though, if at all.  I would think if it was accidental firing, they could make it look like it was done accidentally by the person who was killed (fingerprints, gun powder residue, etc) unless the trajectory would be really out of kilter with a self-imposed shot.  That would be a good reason for a coverup though - a gunshot wound that couldn't be explained away.

My friend bought his wife a scooter and then Saturday bought his a matching one so they could ride together.. So her first ride she fell down on it and scratched up the bike and her leg but its not too serious.. My friend buys these toys and then never uses them, I guess he will never learn..  www.decastri.com  You can see the scooter he bought for his wife.. She is really skinny and I think she just lost her balance going too slow and fell over and being so skinny she got all some scratches but I didn't think they looked too bad.. I almost forgot that his daughter was roller blading and she broke her arm and was visiting too, so it was kinda interesting this weekend.. I stayed in the pool and they have this large dog Mastiff that thought I needed saving and jumped in while I was doing laps and tried to get on my back.. I then went to the bottom of the pool to get away from him and he kept swimming around waiting for me to surface so he could bite me.  I think it was thinking it was saving me but he was actually on top of me scratching me all up..  He is a Mastiff..

Re. the 16-yr-old rape victim in Aruba, who’s family is not pressing charges … this sounds sooo much like where we were as late as the 1950s. A rape conviction rarely resulted, and the victim was victimized again. It isn’t exactly easy now, either.

Aruba is clearly a patriarchal culture, and totally unaffected by contemporary women’s rights movements. I think that the social and political culture contributed enormously to what happened to Natalee.

Today is the 40th year since the University of Texas (Austin) Tower Sniper. Charles Whitman, a student, killed his mother and wife, then went to the observation deck on top of the tower and killed 16 (?) and wounded dozens of others.

Okay, I remember that discussion about the gun from last night.  What I want to know is the conversation between the 3 the only reason we suspect a gun could be involved?  I mistakenly got the impression that we had other rumors or conversations that backed it up.  Sorry, I misunderstood.  I do agree that having shot Natalee would be reason for a cover up which would involve all three suspects.

Re. the gun - to my knowledge, the taped conversation in the polis van is the only time a gun has been mentioned.

Indeed, a gunshot wound - say, in the back (running away?) - would be an excellent reason for the perps to report nothing and conceal the body.

mrs. red, concerning your friend, the best thing would be to just ask her a general question like "How is your husband doing? How is he health-wise?" and see where SHE takes it from there. She will share whatever she is comfortable with, without going where she doesn't want to go. If she expresses concerns, you can go farther, but if she doesn't... I would save it for a later time. But at least "break the ice" with a VERY general question like that.

5 killed BEFORE he started shooting from tower (including stabbing his mother and wife, and killing 3 in the lobby of tower.)
46 killed or wounded total.

You know, I think as a whole we are really failing kids....

I mean (O.K. I used to be in marketing.... ) I notice even in commercials now commentary aimed at
(a)  kids refusing to leave home... i.e - the Taco Bell commericals....
(b) sending messages to kids that they need to be "sexy" at young ages... i.e. the kids being dressed up in older clothes and dancing , the one that comes to mind is an old POP Tarts commerical... I mean from the 90's.....
(c) that kids are in control of the family... the Toyota Sienna van commericals....

and a friend recently told me about checking out my space with her 13 year old daughter.... and how shocked she was the parents of these girls didn't see anything wrong with the content... (which was btw, very graphic and sexual in nature... what they did and didn't do with boys...)  when my friend spoke to some of the parents... it was well they are just kids being kids...

and the media holding Paris Hilton up as a role model......

I mean, I like a lot of things that don't help....but, I don't allow my neices and nephews to see it...

I don't know if I am making sense, but I just think we push kids to be adult faster than ever... and then wonder why they do the things they do....

This is the last topic of conversation that we know about in this Police Van conversation.  Why?  What stopped the conversation?  It ends abruptly.  Was this the end of the conversation or just all that we have been allowed to see?

I have to say that I am not onvinced there is a 'gun' involved. However, I do think Satish knows more than he has ever spoken about and I think he MAY be the weak link. Not sure......still analyzing tons of stuff...damn.

Another thing I hate ... (I used to be in marketing, too) ... is the way commercials show people lying to each other, as though it's routine, as though life is just a game. Husbands lie to wives, kids lie to parents ... and that's just the way you play it. I'm appalled. Nobody lied in my house when we were growing up. I can't fathom why parents accept lying. Who's in control of the household, for Pete's sake.

There's an AdCritic web site where the industry comments on itself, but it's priced so that nobody outside of the industry can afford to join. $1500 a year or something like that. Another problem: you can always complain to the advertiser but you can't easily track down the agency that did the work. Anyway, agencies don't care what the audience thinks -- they just want to shock and "break through the clutter."

Well, I'm off to the airport to pick up my niece, who is arriving this afternoon for a four-day visit. She's the same age as Natalee and now I get to her all about her first year in college. I count this as a blessing. You know what I mean.

It's not only commercials.  It's print media especially fashion magazines and clothes catalogs where everyone has to be beautiful & thin, yet curvaceous & muscular.  Everyone has picture perfect hair, skin, teeth & nails. And then the messages the kids get from Hollywood.  We grew up in (most of us are boomers) a time where Ricky & Lucy had twin beds.  Now, they show unmarried couples and new hook ups tumbling into bed together. And the violence is another thing in the music and gaming industry.  We had Saturday morning cartoons where someone got bopped over the head with a hammer or had an anvil drop on them, and they's go flat and then "pop" back to normal.  I think as kids we knew that was make believe.  But with cartoons now, that line is very blurred.

And we wonder where kids get their ideas about sex, violence and body image.  Do parents even discipline their kids anymore?  Do they teach them the value of a dollar?  To have morals & ethics? To work hard to achieve their goals?

I sure wouldn't want to be a kid in this day and age, or be raising kids now.  It's very scary.

You'll appreciate this, then.  I was furious when I read our college marketing department's new ad campaign.  It says:

* First-rate classes plus student organizations and clubs
* National championship sport teams
* No entry requirements! No essays, SAT/ACT scores - no problem! GCC will place you in classes at your skill level to provide a foundation for successful learning.

Aside from being blatantly untrue--we do require placement essays written during the first English class--it is so misleading, placing emphasis on how to get through college with the least amount of effort, IMHO.  Maybe I'm just hypersensitive since I teach writing, but I really didn't like the "No essays" comment--too anti-writing, in my opinion.  Well, this is where marketing is taking us.

I tend to agree with you -- but, I may re-think my opinion after reading his "letter" on Drudge Report today. He did not simply try to apologize or blame it on "drinking." He said he asked for guidance to help him resolve his issues with the Jews. This was not the typical Hollywood Mia Culpa I was expecting.

You are so right, whodunit.  It teaches the girl that her family does not value her or her person.  It teaches her that she is nothing more in their eyes than an object to be abused for male entertainment.  If her family has one iota of human decency, they will press charges and stand up for their daughter.  I am so appalled that parents would even consider dropping this and not pressing charges.  

We have here a comparison of parenting styles--Aruban style and American style.  The parents of the girl raped and photographed are considering just dropping the whole thing and sending the girl away, shamed and beaten, as if she caused the whole incident.  On the other hand, the parents of Natalee Holloway have done everything they can to defend and seek justice for their daughter who was subjected to similar, and worse, behavior.  Aruba, get a clue!!  Look what you are doing to your young women and children when you shame them and humiliate them and send them away just because they were the victims of these animals!

It was about 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on.  Lauren's parents have always told them never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather to wait until they get to a gas station, etc.




Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called 677 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars where she was and there weren't, so he told her to keep driving, remain calm, and that he had back up already on the way.

Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her.
One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes.


I never knew about the *677 Cell Phone feature, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a safe & quiet place. You obviously need to make some signals that you acknowledge them ( i.e. put on your hazard lights) or call *677 like Lauren did.




Too bad the cell phone companies don't generally give you this little bit of wonderful information.

Got my AC back, something made one of the wires to the capacitor melt and had to get a new capacitor..  Total cost was $80 for the capacitor and $60 for labor..  There were those nest that look like little mud huts inside where the capacitor was located.. I guess I need to spray the AC units with wasp spray..

The repair guy told me that he had to changed his shirt three times today because of the heat..  He was happy that the compressor was in the shade..  I wonder why he didn't give me a discount..??

It's been overcast here in Phoenix and the temp is 99 degrees now--a cool day for us, at least for August 1.

I'm going to Oregon coast next month.  It says it's only 60 degrees there today.  Hard to imagine.

I'm going to tell you monkeys all about my day so you'll feel better about yours.

1)Showed up at the building where our trainer was supposed to have set up the staff training I was doing - to find nothing set up.
2)Rushed back to my office (8 miles) and got training stuff. Couldn't go over the speed limit cause I didn't put my purse back in the car and was driving without a license.
3)Got back to training site, the overhead projector that was supposed to be there wasn't.
4)Found an overhead projector, it only worked five minutes.
5)Didn't have enough chairs in the room, had to find more chairs.
6)Found another overhead projector, then the blacklight I needed at one point in the training broke.
7)Found a vacuum cleaner to sweep up the broken bulb, but all the vacuum did was crush the glass into the carpet.
8)Had to find a broom and dustpan and try to get the glass bits out of the carpet.
9)Tried to leave, but was caught by a staff member who needed me to approve some stuff.
10)Had not had even a drop of water all morning, finally tried to eat lunch at my desk at 1:30.
11)Director and Asst Director are both out of town, so I'm in charge. The whole time I tried to eat people were bringing me things to approve.
12)Left to go to local giant mall to get a black light to replace the one I broke. (Doing same training again tomorrow.) Had blisters on my feet, no parking places near mall entrance.
13)Got black light and came back outside. It was 105 degrees.
14)Finally got home and my mom told me my aunt died today.

Now, don't you all feel better about your own day? :?

I am so sorry your day was so horrible.  Why is that sometimes it really seems like when it rains it pours.  I had a time earlier this year when I was afraid to answer my phone since all I was getting was bad news.  Things since have gotten better and I hope tomorrow goes better for you!
You can just ignore my sig line today... or maybe it will help.  My dad asked me that question every morning and my answer could only be "wonderful" or he would keep asking.  I think its why I am a pretty positive person!!

I remember that you were praying for Leah, the one year old who had leukemia.  The family wants to thank everyone for your prayers.  I printed out all the prayers and good thoughts from all the caring monkeys and told them there was also plenty of monkeys who were praying who didn't say so out loud.

Leah is suffering no more, she passed into God's loving arms last Saturday.  She has had a really rough life and will be missed but her long suffering is over.

Maybe you can go on vacation in your mind.  8)

I forwarded an FOIA form to the FBI requesting information about Natalee's alleged disappearance in Costa Rica.  Some buttwipe at UR or RU, whatever the hell it is, claimed she new it was fact based on info she received from the FBI using the FOIA form.  Well I got a letter from the FBI that I want to post at UR to prove that I did request the info and was denied based on the fact that there is no proof that Natalee is deceased.  I have scanned the letter to a pdf but do not know how to post here or any other blog.  Can someone help me do that, please.  At the very least I want to show that blankety blanks that I'm not full of it and am not lying (like most of them).

For years here in Pa this same thing has happened. several women have been raped using the same M.O. 2 months ago they found the perp and he was an off duty cop this time, pulling females driving alone off the side of the road and rapeing them.  In 2 other previous cases that i can remember it was rapist who was let out of jail for good behavior.  I believe he was on week end furloughs from a work program and thats how he was cought all the occurance happened while he was out on his w/e work release.
  the last case i remember was a former rapist who was let out on early parole due to jail overcrowding.

I just read your post and now I'm all stressed out.. It's important to be able to relax into silence, unentertained except by your own thoughts. If you can find an oasis of healing silence in the midst of your busy day, you will find yourself refreshed and recharged. Our lives are busy, the world is noisy. Spending time in silence can help you recognize the still point within yourself so that you can return to that calmness anytime you need it.  Lunch in the park with your husband, a walk in the woods. That corner of silence is hard to find sometimes, but we all need it. And once you find it, even the memory of it will sustain you.   So tell your husband to bring his toothbrush and meet you for lunch tomorrow..  I will be watching..

I think I'm the culprit to get people to try "Maxthon"! While, it works great "out-of-the-box" -- it is also very pliable and customizable. From the tool bar go to Options>Maxthon Options and then play around with your own preferences. I think what you were looking for would be under the option of "Tabs".   :lol:  :o  :)

We have our own Canadian version of outrage happening with predators. Two boys were abducted by a known pedophile. The headline today was a "National Disgrace " Late this afternoon, one of the boys was found in an old farm building.
We have a branch office in the next province and the people there knew the family of one of the boys.
I work with a really nice bunch of folks. The talk today was about what could be done with predators of this type.
Can't repeat most of it.
I hope that Dana does a show on this one, it's in his province. Not really close to where he is from, but in Saskatchewan.
The attorney general of this province was on the radio this am and he wants tougher measures in dealing with these serial predators.
Things like this do not happen here that often, so this might mobilize a few people here to become more vocal about our laws and ask : Who are we protecting ? The kids or the predators ?
I just came home from work a while ago, so I am going to watch the late news for an update.

I believe that option is available with one of it's "plug-ins." I usually right click and click on "properties" to get that info. It also has plug-ins that "enable right click" on websites that have it "disabled." Their forum is good for answering these type questions as well!

He would then ask if my boyfriend finxxxed me and if he did oral sex to me and when I would answer the man then would perform those things on me, asking me if I liked it and how I wanted him to do it.
