Title: Invasion Chicago - Too Far Gone?
Post by: WhiskeyGirl on February 04, 2013, 05:41:06 AM
Chicago and Illinois have some of the toughest gun laws in America.  They also have some of the worst cases of gun and other violence that touch lives on a daily basis.

"When the president shows up, it shows ultimate national seriousness," said Jackson, a Chicago resident. He also called for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to help patrol the streets of Chicago.

Gun violence in Chicago has been in the national spotlight over the past year, with 506 murders in 2012, an increase of 17 percent from the previous year. As of Thursday, there were 42 homicides and 157 shootings so far this year, according to Chicago police.

Anyone wonder why?

Old wisdom - 'The flashing blue lights show up after crime has been committed...'

Who is going to protect you while you're dialing 911 and waiting for help?

Is this the best example of civilization ever?  The city with the toughest gun laws?  What about D.C.?

Why aren't they handing out guns and providing training like they do birth control?  Teaching people to protect themselves?  Taking responsibility for their own safety?

The grand illusion of civility?

Will Chicago be the next Detroit in four years?

What kind of place treats law abiding citizens (like gun owners, workers, and families) like criminals and gives those that ignore the laws, come illegally never ending 'get out of jail free' cards?

How many crimes in Chicago are committed by folks here illegally?  In industries that favor illegal aliens?  Gang members?

The answer to the 'problem'?  Illinois gives them drivers licenses and doesn't require a finger print check.  How many illegals and fraudsters with links to criminal cases are slipping through the cracks?

I believe many places fingerprint teachers, child care workers, census takers, traders, and a host of other occupations filled with law abiding people.

Why not fingerprint folks known to be breaking the law?

The future of America?  The 'illusion' of civility?

Anyone think the Obama's will move back to Chicago?  Give up their 24/7 security?

Live the life they promote to others?

just my humble opinions
