Deepak Kalpoe didn't shy away from the limelight. He gave an interview to Fox News' Greta van Susteren and MSNBC's Clint van Zandt and allowed his attorney to give other press interviews. Moreover, Deepak spoke several times to a literary agent and prepared a book proposal. Judge Woods writes, "These actions, considered together, can be interpreted as voluntary acts designed to draw special attention to or influence the public perception of guilt."

Public figures are subject to a heightened burden when they institute lawsuits for defamation. They must prove by clear and convincing evidence that an allegedly

defamatory statement was made with “actual malice,” that is, with knowledge of falsity or reckless disregard for the truth.

Red - I don't think the Kalpoes or their attorneys ever expected it to last this long or expected it to go to trial.  I believe all along they were hoping for a settlement.  Once the attorneys realized it wasn't going to happen they started jumping ship. 

I think you are right. They wanted that nuance money made to just make something go away. I am glad that Dr. Phil's attorneys did not do so and they probably did not because it would create a terrible precedent and the faux-lawsuits would follow.

I always thought that if Deepak loses the case, then he is liable for Dr Phil's attorney fees. If the case is dismissed,then he wouldn't be liable. We should ask a lawyer to be certain.

More than six years and dozens of legal filings later, Dr. Phil McGraw has emerged victorious in a legal tussle against former Natalee Holloway murder suspects Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. The brothers had sued him for defamation back in 2008, but RadarOnline.com has learned that the case was dismissed on March 17.

The Surinamese brothers sued Dr. Phil and CBS Paramount Domestic Studios in 2008, over allegations that producers of the Dr. Phil show hired private investigators and traveled to Aruba. After agreeing to meet the private investigator, the plaintiffs alleged, they were videotaped without their permission. Deepak Kalpoe claims he never had sex with Holloway, despite appearing to admitting to it on the show. Their lawsuit accused Dr. Phil of defamation, invasion of privacy and infliction of emotional distress.

According to court documents obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com, the lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice​ on March 17.

Under California law, when a lawsuit is dismissed with prejudice, the plaintiffs are forbidden from filing another lawsuit against the defendant on similar grounds.

It’s unclear if there was a settlement in the case.

Fatal accident near Shete



Saturday, March 28th, 2015 a safari-Jeep with several tourists capsized on the dirt road near Shete on the way to the Natural Pool at Conchi. The vacation of three American/Filipino nurses came to an abrupt end because one of them came from underneath the jeep; Anjanette Cabigon broke her neck and died instantly.

The jeep was capsized on a moderately sloping portion of the road about 600 meters from Shete. The road here is basically OK. Therefore the emergency services could reach the spot well.

The forensic team conducted an investigation.

Police believes that there has been a failed switch maneuver on the slope upwards, resulting in the jeep going slowly backwards after which the driver lost control of the wheel and then the Jeep capsized.

There was no alcohol involved and as far as we know, the tourists used a seat belt.

Although the road at the scene of the accident is not dangerous, Arikok will further analyse the two routes to Conchi in the coming weeks and together with our partners we will study if there are possible measures to improve safety and access for emergency services.

Parke Arikok will also do additional surveillance in the coming holidays around Easter, explicitly trying to ensure that 4×4 vehicles are not driving too fast (up to 20km/h) in the park and that all visitors observe the safety rules.

Parke Arikok has canceled the Movie Night last Saturday to honor the deceased. Board, management and employees of Arikok are shocked about the fatal accident and wish family and friends of Anjanette Cabigon much strength.

May she rest in Peace. Amen.

Judge Fred Woods, writing for a three-judge panel of the Second Appellate District on Dec. 17, cited a California statute in their ruling. The code, the judge wrote, requires parties seeking damages for defamation from news sources to first "demand a correction" or "[be] limited only to recovering special damages."

The statute was important to the ruling because the plaintiffs did not dispute claims by Dr. Phil's attorneys that they never demanded a correction from Dr. Phil or the producers of his show.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge William MacLaughlin had cited the same code in his December 2012 ruling that the plaintiffs could not seek punitive or general damages. However, the defense then asked the court to reconsider the ruling. They maintained the retraction rule only applied to media outlets engaged in the "immediate and rapid dissemination of news."

In Tuesday’s written ruling, Woods said the three-judge panel could not conclude that the statute only applies to outlets that engage in covering breaking news.

"The petition is denied [and] each party is to bear its own costs," Woods wrote in his ruling.

Woods was not available yesterday for comment, but a staff member confirmed that the jurist plans to end his 30-year-plus judicial career on March 31, his 80th birthday.

He has served on the Court of Appeal since 1988, when he was elevated from the Los Angeles Superior Court, to which he was appointed in 1984.

Woods earned his law degree in 1963 and was admitted to the State Bar the following year. He spent 20 years in law practice in Long Beach, becoming senior litigator at the firm that eventually became Riedman, Dalessi, Woods and Dybens. He chaired the Trial Section of the Long Beach Bar Association and served on the association’s board in 1976, and taught in the association’s Trial Clinic.

He was appointed to the Los Angeles Superior Court in 1984 by then-Gov. George Deukmejian, who had practiced with the same firm before becoming state attorney general in 1979. He presided over criminal and civil trials and in the law and motion department, and also served in the Appellate Department, before being elevated to the Court of Appeal in 1988.

His opinions have included Fisher v. San Pedro Peninsula Hospital (1989) 214 Cal.App.3d 590, a leading case on hostile-environment sexual harassment; Roberts v. Los Angeles County Bar Assn. (2003) 105 Cal. App. 4th 604, rejecting a challenge to the County Bar’s judicial evaluations process; Jevne v. Superior Court (2005) 35 Cal.4th 935, holding that the State Bar’s contractual arbitration rules were preempted to the extent they conflicted with rules of the National Association of Securities Dealers governing disputes between brokers and investors; and Kalpoe v. Superior Court (2013) 222 Cal. App. 4th 206, holding that a state law barring recovery of non-economic damages in a defamation suit against a newspaper or broadcaster if the plaintiff fails to make a timely retraction demand is not limited to defendants engaged in the immediate dissemination of news.

At the end of this month my Father, Fred Woods, will turn 80. Consequently, he has opted to retire from his position as a California Court of Appeals Justice at the end of the month on his 80th birthday. Being a California jurist is a position that he has held for the last 27 years.1 He was originally appointed to the CA trial court. Then about four years later he was elevated to the California Court of Appeal. He has enjoyed a prolific career on the bench. During his 22 years on the California Court of Appeal he has authored roughly 3100 judicial opinions. Many of his opinions remain influential in the California legal system up until the present day.

I think this whole experience, as well as growing up in his household, has taught me at least three great truths. First, character still counts. At the end of an era character is what most people will remember about you. They may not remember your intellect or the specific views you held on different issues. Rather, what they recall is you and who you are as a human being. Sometimes in the heat of battle it’s easy to want to win an argument. However, in this very process sometimes we end up losing the war because of the way we mistreated and alienated people along the way. It seems that today’s landscape is filled with people who are often more bent on pursuing victory than they are in pursuing justice or discovering truth. However, my father was never that way. While he took solid positions on a host of issues, at the end of the day people still actually liked and respected him.

My history is kind of like Blenchi's.  I had never posted on any message board anywhere in my life but there was a bulletin board that I checked on a regular basis just for news.  That is aruba-bb.com.  They have a news forum called Aruba Tradewinds Times and I had it bookmarked for a couple of years prior to any of this. 

Then when the story broke in 2005, I saw that they started a Natalee forum at aruba-bb and I checked it out.  Suffice it to say, what I saw made my blood boil and required me to register and join the fray.  That board shut down their NH forum pretty quickly but somewhere along the line, I got referred to visitaruba.com and started posting there.  Sherry kept that board open until the end of September, 2005 then shut it down for the reasons stated by Blenchi.  I didn't post about the case anywhere at all for about three months.  Then a friend of mine at visitaruba alerted me to Refs and I registered there and re-joined the fray.  From there, I got refered here.

The Kalpoes have to be REALLY angry now that they lost everything in their case against Dr. Phil, right? Who "caused" all this pain and suffering to them for the last 10 years?? Isn't it now time to exact some revenge themselves? Maybe we should approach the Kalpoes about spilling the beans on Jordan!

I would not be surprised at all if someone hasn't already thought about that and approached the Kalpoes with an offer (no inside info on this just hoping).  Wouldn't that be great!   ::MonkeyCool::

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh woman and her friend are finally able to return home after an ATV accident left them stranded at a hospital in Aruba.

Kenya Dukes and Deana Kennedy left for Aruba on Thursday to celebrate Kennedy's 35th birthday.

"We thought we were coming for four days to lay in the sun, but that's just not what happened," Kennedy said.

While in Aruba, the two friends decided to go on an ATV tour, but after a few minutes the adventure turned dangerous.

"We were probably six minutes into the ride when the steering component got stuck," Kennedy said. "I was thrown off. I hit my hip on the ground and I rolled."

Kennedy broke her pelvis and had to undergo emergency surgery.

"What we didn't realize is that I can't get on a plane. I can't sit up," Kennedy said.

According to doctors, Kennedy will need an air ambulance to return home to the U.S. The cost is estimated at $34,000 and an additional $22,000 is needed for the hospital bill.

"Here on the Aruba side they won't accept my insurance," she said.

According to travel agent Nicole Bass, it is not uncommon for travelers to find themselves abroad with unexpected medical expenses.

"Your normal medical insurance doesn't cover you when you leave the country," Bass said.

Dukes and Kennedy said they will spend Tuesday night in Aruba but plan to arrive back in the U.S. on Wednesday.

Hello, my name is Nicolle Randolph and Deana Kennedy is my sister-in-law.  Over the weekend Deana was in a horrific  ATV accident in Aruba which resulted in emergency surgery due to internal injuries.  Our family is reaching out to friends and family for financial support.  In order for Deana to be released from Aruba her hospital bill must addressed and satisfied.  The regulations in Aruba do not accept U.S.  Health Insurance,  please help with whatever you can.

So Aruba is not letting these people leave without paying their bill? How are they going to come up with $20K for hospital bills. Obviously, once they leave Aruba, the hospital will have no recourse in ever getting the $'s. So they are captive on Aruba until the bill is paid? REALLY?

And how much did extra days in the hospital/hotel etc. cost them because they weren't allowed to leave?

Seems like it could be a vicious cycle to me.  You don't have the money, but the cost is only going up every day?!!!

Beth Holloway: 10 years after her daughter’s disappearance, Beth Holloway has reclaimed her life.

Over the past decade, Beth Holloway’s path through life has taken the kind of turns that few people will ever be expected to face.

After her daughter Natalee’s disappearance in Aruba in 2005, Holloway became a determined mother who persevered through years of uncertainty in search of answers and justice. She became an impassioned public speaker, spreading her family’s story across the nation to anyone who would listen, in the hopes that it might prevent another family from going through the same ordeal as her own. In 2010, she once again came face-to-face with Joran van der Sloot, the Dutch national who had been the prime suspect in Natalee’s disappearance, when he tried to extort thousands of dollars from her before fleeing to Peru, where he killed another young woman.

Given the hardship Holloway and her family have faced since 2005, the terms she uses to describe her life today might be surprising: peaceful, joyful, happy. “I’m in a place where I’m moving onward and upward,” Holloway says. “I’m not ‘over’ anything, because you don’t get over the loss of a loved one, but you do begin to move on. There’s never closure, because it’s never over. But you do begin to find joy and peace and happiness.”

That joy, she says, has not come easy. “When you lose a loved one, you feel like you lose part of your family,” she says. “You do, you lose your family, you lose the life that you once knew and loved. That life is gone. So you’re looking at redefining and rebuilding and reclaiming a new life.” Recovering from Natalee’s disappearance, she says, has been a matter of redefining and rebuilding. It’s taken 10 years and a lot of fight from Holloway to arrive where she is now. But it’s a good place.

Holloway lives in Homewood, Alabama, on the top floor of a luxury apartment building. Warm, antique furniture lines the living room, and pictures of her family are scattered around the room. A large photo of Natalee in her high school dance team outfit occupies a prominent place on the sideboard.

Holloway’s family has changed a good deal over the last 10 years in both good and bad ways. About a year after she returned from Aruba, Holloway and her then-husband Jeb Twitty separated. Since that time, however, her family has started to grow again, thanks in no small part to her son, Matthew. Now 26 years old, Matthew is a 911 operator with a commercial pilot’s license, and he is training for his airframe and powerplant license. Like his mother, Matthew sought comfort in those around him and work he found meaning from in order to endure the loss of a sister and his family’s long absence. “He went through a rough spell, of course, for a few years,” Holloway says. “But he really directed or channeled his energy into aviation. I think that just gave him what he needed between his friends and faith. Friends, faith, and flying. [Those were] his three.”

Matthew is also a brand-new father. Holloway’s first grandchild, a girl named Rylee Ann, was born on Dec. 23, 2014. “It was wonderful,” Holloway says. “I had no idea the love I could have for a grandchild. All my friends that have grandchildren, they’re always talking about their love of them. I love my children, Natalee and Matt, but I didn’t know how else I would feel about a grandchild. But as soon as I met her I thought, ‘Oh. So this is the love that they have for their grandchildren.’ It was beautiful.”

Though Holloway has gone through two divorces, she remained optimistic on that front and indeed has found someone with whom to share her life. “I’ll just say one thing,” she says. “I am engaged, and that’s it. He’d kill me if I said his name, though.”

Altogether, Holloway’s life today looks much different than it did 10 years ago; she says arriving here has not happened on accident. “This is a point in my life where I’ve worked hard to find that happiness and joy, and I’ve done a lot of work over the past 10 years,” she says. That work began in Aruba, just a few short days after her daughter disappeared. The first few years after 2005 were a search for answers more so than a search for happiness; it took a moment of revelation at a small Catholic church in Aruba for Holloway to begin moving forward again after Natalee’s disappearance. Holloway was raised as a Methodist, with a mother who taught her that God is good, and a grandmother who told her, “Lay your burdens at the cross.” On her fourth morning in Aruba, those lessons came into sharper focus for Holloway. She found a taxi and asked the driver to take her somewhere to pray. “He pulled over and there was a large white cross, and he told me to get out of the car, and as I did, I walked to the cross and just fell to the cross on my knees and just started crying and begging and praying to God to give Natalee back,” she says. “I got up, and I went to next cross, repeated my same prayers and dropped to my knees and kept praying and crying and begging for God to give her back.”

After days of searching for her missing daughter, Holloway says she was in unbearable pain. Though she was unfamiliar with the Catholic tradition of the stations of the cross, she instinctively went from cross to cross, each time seeking an answer. Finally, on the fifth or sixth station, she found one. “Complete peace blanketed me, and in that instant somehow I then knew that Natalee was with God, and I knew that he had cared for her through whatever ordeal she had encountered that night, and that’s when I became at peace,” she says. “When my grandmother was always saying, ‘Lay your burdens at the cross,’ I got, at that point, what she was saying. I laid the burden of caring for Natalee at the cross. The work to find out what happened to her had to be done, but the burden was taken from me.”

Holloway spent years pressuring authorities to find answers about Natalee’s disappearance and to bring those she believed responsible to justice. At the same time, she felt another calling. In the first month she spent on the island, Holloway made a promise that she would spend the next decade trying to keep. “I made a pledge on the island of Aruba,” she said. “I made [a] pledge in June 2005 that I would get in front of as many high schools, colleges, and groups of people as I could, and I did. I have taken every opportunity since that date.” Holloway has spoken to tens of thousands of people over the last decade, and though the tone of her message might have evolved as she evolved, the content has remained consistent. “It’s a message of hope, and my definition of hope is that inexplicable empowerment that enables us to move successfully from challenge to resolution with courage,” she explains. “It’s more than just wishful thinking. It is real that there is light at the end of the tunnel. No matter what you’re trying to find your way through—It could be loss of a loved one, it could be terminal illness, it could be a financial loss. It’s a powerful inspirational message that I share that teaches perseverance and hope and that you can endure.”

Holloway’s path to the present day—the reclaiming of her life—began in 2010, when she confronted Joran van der Sloot for the final time. “Leading up to May of 2010, that’s when all the extortion was going on with Joran,” Holloway says. “So at that point, I was not in a good place, so to speak.”

Van der Sloot contacted Holloway’s representative near the end of March of 2010 and offered to reveal the location of Natalee’s body for $250,000. He received a $25,000 advance and in return provided false information. “Shortly thereafter, the extortion charges and the FBI sting [were] about to go down in Aruba,” Holloway says. “Then all of a sudden, Joran has fled the country. He surfaced in Peru, where he has murdered another young woman, not only the same scenario, but the exact date and the same time that he had murdered Natalee.” On May 30, 2010—five years to the day after Natalee’s disappearance—Van der Sloot strangled 21-year-old Stephany Flores to death in a Lima hotel room. During his trial, Van der Sloot was held in Miguel Castro Castro prison. It was visiting him there that gave Holloway the push to move forward. “I think once I visited Castro Castro, Joran in prison, and was able to walk away from there, it was almost a freeing experience for me to know that it was time now,” she remembers. “Joran was in prison, and this is what I had worked so hard for, for five years. This was what I had wanted in ’05.”

Seeing Van der Sloot behind bars did not bring complete closure—Natalee’s case will always remain open in the United States. It did, however, allow Holloway to start taking her life in a new direction. “It allowed me then to move onward…. I hadn’t found peace and joy and happiness yet—but I began to recognize it and learned how to embrace it, and then I think it just led to place where I am now, which is a good place.”

Wow, what a beautiful woman.  Last Sunday as we drove through Birmingham I had to look over at Homewood and think of Natalee.  Then it dawned on me that it has been 10 years since Natalee was murdered.  I am so happy for Matt, he has a daughter and Beth and Dave have a granddaughter.  AND Beth is engaged.  I am just happy for her and I know Natalee would be also.

He didn't get away with anything.  For the five years he did walk free and continually cause more pain for Natalee's family, he didn't do it without having to look over his shoulder.  Beth didn't let him get away with it, and we didn't either! 

Stephany Flores should have never met Joran.  Period.  Her senseless brutal murder is and forever will be on the hands of ALL who protected Joran from prosecution in Natalee's case; and Aruba will always have the dark cloud of Natalee's injustice hanging over it.

Recently, the latter indeed confirmed by a study of Joran himself, but his last real swamp story however is as usual the biggest hogwash.

In the months of March and April 2008, I had arranged telephone contact with the parents of Natalee, especially with Dave Holloway, since he had been working on the actual searches on Aruba.

Then he told about a nasty odor that hung for about two weeks around the construction site of the Marriott, this for me was the reason to investigate this further me.

I contacted dr.Jantz of the "Body Farm" in Knoxville and gave him the necessary information needed to determine the time when her body was consumed.

I gave him the day and night temperature of Aruba in June, her body weight, she had to swimwear, was tucked away somewhere, but not buried!

It's an important, busy person and I just a "nobody", but he gave me the day after its conclusion about two weeks!

That was my reason to go deeper into the matter excavated and gradually came more confirmations of my theory.

Ironically it Joran itself is enough that in his book me two very important clues!

Under item 4 of the overview map of Aruba reads: "The Marriott hotel where Natalee was staying" when everyone knows that she stayed at the Holiday Inn (!).

And at p. 50, section "Girlfriends" he calls one Jillian, where he has had with courtship and a half years and she is the daughter of someone involved in the construction of the Marriott.

The father of Natalee wrote about a key found in the car of Deepak, who claimed that it was his mother, but before that could be verified lost one policeman key and then everyone forgot about its existence.

It was now so ready for me like a lump of what was going in the stem and therefore I asked in mid-May 2008 Chief Moss to take action and "to launch an investigation on the former site of the Marriott Aruba Surf Club.

But what my surprise joking when he claimed that he be sent my mail, which includes my complete theory, with drawings and all, could not open because it was one PDF document!?

As he to obtain a search warrant with one well-substantiated story to the court commissioner must knock, and he had not, his proposal to ask the Marriott to participate voluntarily in the study.

The same day I had Marriott's manager on the line, and despite my assurance that the entire viewing operation would proceed very discreet and there's a minimal damage would be caused to the hotel, he introduced himself hard on and I got the brush-off .

Also, my request to Mr Moss for copies of the drawings were not honored, there was absolutely no understanding and cooperation.

My disappointment was great, but because I do not give up quickly when I decided to do it my way and vijtien months later I visited late August 2009 Aruba and went right along with the DOW to take pictures of the drawings of the Marriott.

With diving, however, I began to suffer from one perforated eardrum and therefore ill and was only back in the Netherlands I could quietly investigate these drawings and 7 September 2009 I thought ninety percent certain to know where the remains of Natalee was hidden.

Now this sounds very presumptuous, so let me therefore first set the record one glance, then my theory and then you can decide for yourself whether it really holds water if I'm one big dreamer.
 
FACTS

Joran suffered from behavioral disorders (tantrums, steal, drink and gambling) and ran for it with a psychiatrist.

He founded one site that incited violence and rape, which incidentally just after the disappearance of Natalee was quickly lifted.

When Joran and Natalee were dropped then nobody has seen them together, which is strange,
because of the 'n festival there were more people in the early hours on the beach present than normal.

The radar has determined that night not a single maritime activity.

Joran has neither the police nor the ambulance called.

He had just after her disappearance scratches on his face.

His shoes had disappeared.

When he visited came home in the early morning he scribbled one porn site, despite the fact that the same day he "had one exam.

All the accomplices designated by Joran denied by Microsoft.

Joran had 1.5 years of courtship with the daughter of someone who was involved in the construction of the Marriott.

There was a key found in the car of Deepak, which was later lost, however.

Shortly after her disappearance appeared on the site of "scared monkeys" messages from one Shango, with all sorts of cryptic text and one of them was:

"Why did not bring his Lordship the key found in the car"

There was a period of two weeks' n dirty stench around the construction site of the Marriott Aruba Surf Club.

There's never sought, because at night a lock sitting on the fence.

Dave Holloway told me that daytime was a "short-cut" between the parking lot of the Marriott and the Holiday Inn.
 
Joran says in the "secret" rapture of Peter R. de Vries two remarkable things:

"If they find her, I'm the dick" which even Patrick bevreemt because he responds by saying:

"She's totally destroyed" and indeed the sea knew much, if not all traces and later stoned he stares ahead, he says:

"They'll never find her ......... I .denk"

He has his own dog topped with 'n' paint-ballgun ".

Around the Marriott time were many dog ​​carcasses found.

Joran Natalee separated from her group and suggested to take a taxi.

Because taxis in Aruba all look different, it was a snap to get her back to the car of Deepak.

They drove to the California Lighthouse, Natalee wanted to see sharks, but they did not stop for and eventually drove them back and Joran and Natalee were dropped off at the parking lot of the Marriott again.

Joran suggested one "short-cut" to take, walked to the fence around the construction site and opening it ... with one key (!)
To their right is the Marriott Aruba Surf Club Phase 3, its construction already finished and only needs to be finished and left a row of containers.

Joran proposes to go star gazing and Natalee's remark that there is already a roof on the hotel is right, then he points to one building at the far end of the site.

If you have the floor plan of the hotel on the Google Earth satellite image of June 22, 2005 explains, you see that this building will be the beginning of the emergency stairwell # 3 of "The Spyglass Tower".

They walk in, climb on the landing, go up the stairs to the first floor and steps in a "half" room, which later would become the space behind the elevators.

They lie down on the floor together in love and gazing at the starry sky and everything is nice and peaceful.

But the true nature of someone coming adjust upwards if there are no witnesses, because out of nowhere there's that awful change, it is a beast, because suddenly Joran Natalee brutally raped and then break her neck!

He then takes her in his arms and running down the stairs and puts her on the landing.

He jumps down, pulls her out of the overflow in a fire grip and smacks her with a twist on the ground.

Then he pushes the sand away in the crawl space and pulls Natalee at her feet inside.

He crawls to the end of the room and packed with sand the crack closed.

His shoes, which sits on blood, kicks it out and leave it on the spot behind.

He squeezes out again and again, he then makes the crack with sand close and then runs smiling, barefoot into the night.
 
I have this information to the Diario passed, because I just think that the Arubans entitled to it!

Through that spirit sick Joran and eight actual boycott then, thanks for all your help, the whole island has namely unnecessary and unjustified much damage.
 
Because I by i.a. not taken seriously and they do not appreciate my offer knowledge and services, I hereby leave the Aruban people judge the credibility of my theory.

Hopefully this tip with this black chapter can finally be closed and Aruba weather really One Happy Island!

Eric Olthof, Aruba's prosecutor, told Inside Edition he was looking into the claims and expected his investigation would take up to two months.

Natalee Holloway disappeared on May 30, 2005 while celebrating her high school graduation in Aruba with friends. Witnesses say she was seen leaving a club with van der Sloot, who was 17 at the time.

Van der Sloot is currently in prison in Peru, where he is serving a 28-year sentence for the 2010 murder of Stephany Flores in a Lima hotel room. Once his sentence is complete, he will be extradited to the United States, where he will face charges of extorting and defrauding Holloway's mother.

There have been a number of supposed leads in the case over the years, including conflicting statements from van der Sloot himself, who was arrested twice but never charged. Van der Sloot has claimed to have left Natalee alone and drunk on a beach; he was also caught on hidden camera apparently confessing to the killing, and told Fox News that he sold her into slavery.

A Twitter account registered under his name shows 19 tweets all about the case, and he's started circulating an online petition calling for prosecutors to look into his story.

The Dutch man recently began working with Dave Holloway, Natalee's father, who said he remembered smelling decay when he visited the Marriott site. Holloway arranged for de Jong to meet with Aruban authorities. The officials found his story "implausible" at the time but have since announced they're reviewing his claims, the NL Times reported. This process could take up to two months.

"I always thought the answer was right around the corner," Dave Holloway told the Huffington Post. "Here we are nearly 10 years later and we still don't know."

Hi Monks and Monkettes - still reading here after all these years. Spoke with TJ a few weeks ago, we still talk periodically. Spoke before this all started up, again. He's still stuck on Jaguar the informant. He can't get past Paulus' connections to Colombia. And taking Natalee off the island. After all this time - he's still there. Can't blame him, though. She hasn't been found. Or, if she has been found, no one told us. I still wonder about Kyle Kingman's discoveries. And who doesn't.

What can Dave do but go back down there again - I feel for him and understand. He's Natalee's father - and wants to find her. Just like any other father. Must be pure torture to live without knowing. I understand his quest. And hope he has the strength he needs.

Over the last ten years - I guess there were probably 10 days when I didn't think about Natalee - even if for just a fleeting moment. I always take a moment to think about Natalee and what could have been for such a lovely young lady. So horrible to happen and to have to fight for justice. I think we all understand that crime happens - you can't be a member of a board like this and not understand that aspect - it's the fighting for justice that makes people have a replusive feeling and then fight even more. It's an inherent part of human nature to fight the wrongs.

Still holding out hope that Natalee will be found. Just can't let that part go. I'll probably never let it go because it's the injustice and corruption of it all.

The other day I was in the supermarket and heard Michael Buble's 'I Want To Go Home' and remembered that was the theme song for a Natalee blog. I hadn't heard that song in so long. Instantly took me back to thinking of Natalee.

Dave Holloway is back in Aruba exclusively with INSIDE EDITION searching for answers in the disappearance of his 18-year-old daughter, Natalee.

“What was it like for you when you got off that plane and set foot back in Aruba?” INSIDE EDITION’s Lisa Guerrero asked.

He said, “It was like, here we go again.”

“I know what happened to Natalee Holloway,” he told INSIDE EDITION.

Guerrero asked, “What did you see the night Natalee Holloway went missing?”

“I saw that Joran was chasing Natalee into a small building under construction. In about 5 minutes he came out with Natalee in his arms and slammed the body of Natalee on the floor and then made an opening in a crawl space and pulled the body by the ankles inside the crawl space,” he said.

Guerrero asked, “So, you saw Joran van der Sloot slam Natalee Holloway’s body onto the ground and pull her into a crawl space?”

“Yes, by her ankles. I knew she was dead,” he replied.

The site where the witness claims he saw all this was under construction in 2005, but is now the Marriott Surf Club, a 900 room time share resort popular with Americans.

Dave Holloway is so intrigued by the new information, he asked a private detective, TJ Ward, to accompany him to Aruba to help with the investigation and also to analyze de Jong’s voice with a technology that supposedly detects lying.

Guerrero asked Ward, “What was indicated in this program in terms of his stress level in his truthfulness?”

“He was being truthful with what he said,” Ward replied. “He was very stressed with what he said and he was embarrassed he didn't bring this forward.”

Guerrero asked, “So, you believe this witness may be credible and his story could make sense?”

“It could make sense. It could,” Dave Holloway said. “I still have my guard up because I don't want to be disappointed.”

How to check this remarkable claim? It’s long been believed her body was dumped in the ocean, but does the secret to Natalee’s disappearance lie somewhere in this beautiful oceanfront resort?

Dave Holloway sought the help of Tracy Sargent, a search and rescue expert, whose dog, “Chance,” has been trained to detect cadavers. We checked into the hotel like regular guests.

Tracy and Chance strode the grounds and pathways. They went inside stairwells and checked out the garage. Every available space open to resort guests was probed by Chance, using his amazing sense of smell.

“This dog is trained to find missing persons, specifically human remains,” Sargent said.

Even with the passage of 10 long years, to say nothing of all that concrete, Sargent says it's still possible for the dog to detect a scent.

“Were you able to find any trace of Natalee’s body?” Guerrero asked her.

“No. Not at all. Not at this point. We certainly can't rule it out,” she replied.

The new witness believes Natalee could be buried on grounds that are inaccessible to guests. Possibly beneath the laundry facility, a mechanical room near the elevator shaft or perhaps where the garbage is stored.

Guerrero asked de Jong, “People may say you are looking for attention and you are giving false hope to the family, what is your response? Are you lying?”

“If I was making this up, it would be the work of a man who was insane I don't consider myself insane,” he replied.

Guerrero then asked David Holloway, “So you’re not going to give up on this lead yet?

“No. Not at all,” He replied.

“Will you ever give up looking for Natalee?” Guerrero asked.

“No. As long as there is a chance that I’ll find her, I’ll keep looking,” said the heartbroken father.

The prosecutor in Aruba is now reopening the Holloway investigation based on de Jong's statements. He says it could be a couple of months before he reveals his findings.

Joran van der Sloot maintains his innocence in the case.

The forum is open and looking for Justice for Natalee.

With the 10 year anniversary coming up of Natalee's disappearance, I have been reflecting on all that has gone on from the past from the beginning of this case, to the searches in Aruba, to the travesties of justice and everything. The time spent searching for Natalee on the Aruba dump was an experience that will most likely never be forgotten. It is actually hard to forget seeing that i received permanent scares, both physical and emotional, digging side by side with Dave.  I had always said when we were down there that I so wished we could find Natalee so to ease a Dave and Beth's pain, then there was that other side of me that was never prepared for if we did find her if I could deal with a dad finding his daughter in such a place. It was all such a surreal, emotional situation.

I think back on so many things that took place down there and how they came about, most of you would never believe me if I told you. How some of the things came about in Aruba, the help, calls and perseverance of Monkeys who did some things that let's skirted the boundaries to get things done. Teaming up with Tim Miller and the good people of TES.

Some of our accesses to properties and searches were accomplished by Monkeys taking some liberties and getting us some introductions in some inventive ways. That is how TES got on the VDS neighbors property. There are 1000's of stories like that of faking out the MSM and sending them on a wild goose chase as the main search teams went to the prime locations to search. Knowing the landscape and back routes in Aruba helped.

Over the years I can just say thank you to all of the Monkeys for your never ending support for Natalee and her family and in turn the family of so many other missing persons. Klaas is at the top of that list.

It is quite amazing to think that within the 10 years since Natalee's disappearance that Joran Van der Sloot would find himself in prison with the murder of another young girl in Peru. Aruba has her blood on their hands for not doing the right thing when it came to Joran.

They will forever have blood on their hands in my opinion.

Great to see so many of the gang! I have to agree with Rob about being wary of Greta, but at least she keeps the case out in the public eye. I also share the same sentiments on Kyle Kingman. If I recall, he named his little girl after Natalee - it's certainly about time he came forward and shared his honest thoughts.

I so want Dave and Beth to find and take Natalee home but for the life of me I honestly believe that that was her in that cage and what was there was removed by Aruba to never be seen again.  

IF (and that's a big IF) she was in a crawlspace then the authorities in Aruba removed her to that cage.  They would never take the chance any trace of Natalee would be found.  They don't want that hanging over their "Happy little island".

Joran could have left a dead or dying Natalee at the Marriott.  When he tells his father, Paulus arranges to have her body disposed of at sea, possibly in the cage/trap.  Plausible IMO.

What I do know is that there is blue fabric found on the 7th of Jand a piece of blue tarp. This is reluctantly confirmed by Richardson and Mos.

The fabric(s?) are not visible on either the Dec 29th or 30th dives. There is about an inch of sand over the fabrics. The fabrics are completely covered. The diver sampled the sand and found the fabric underneath the sand. He then bagged the blue fabric. If the other bag contains fabric, it was also in the sand. There was also something possibly recovered from far inside the trap. In the video the diver is inside the trap with just below his knees showing. I don't know what was sampled far inside the trap if anything.

It makes complete sense that a murder would have taken place there and he hid her there only to have Papa Sloot get rid of the evidence and bring Natalee out to sea to that no one could find her. Obviously Papa Sloot to cover up the crime was never going to keep the body in a place where she could be discovered.

I think that is what many of us have thought for years and it indicates the involvement of a thinking adult looking to cleanse a crime scene versus of a teenage killer. Remember, JVDS just left Stephany Flores' body in the room in Peru, no attempt to cover up the crime. What was missing that time during that murder? In my view, I always thought that the " angel message bearer" was drawn to resemble Joran's mother and it was as though the cartoonist was sending a subtle opinion as who knew what happened.

Maybe the "shallow grave" in the cartoon represents where he left her.

I have always felt that there are so many purposely drawn so-called " clues " ...  [ or what could be interpreted as such ] within this cartoon, that perhaps the motive for this drawing was to actually throw sincere truth seekers off.  The trick is to determine what is fact and what could be a deliberate mental detour.  This whole case seems to be one of world class mental trickery, in my view. The mind games have been excruciating from the beginning.

Natalee Holloway Special -- this Saturday at 10pm Fox News Channel (if you can't watch live, please DVR.)

No, I don't give up ...at least not easily. I am still working the Natalee Holloway investigation. I want answers. I want to get them for her parents. I got into this so deep that I figure I owe it to her parents to at least keep trying to get those answers.

It has been 10 years since this then high school teen vanished in Aruba. I have traveled the world to try to get answers and interviewed dozens and dozens of people - not all interviews have made air.

Over the years I have traveled to Aruba multiple times, to Thailand for a weekend, to a prison in Peru - all chasing down Joran van der Sloot. He has talked to me many times but always trying to play me. He has no conscience. At one time I was told there were two arrest warrants for me in Aruba (that was bizarre!) because the Arubans were unhappy with me.

And I even returned to Aruba a few weekends ago with Beth Holloway. Yes, I am still working this case.

This Saturday is a SPECIAL - 10pm - on the Natalee Holloway investigation.

Good to see u Kermit along with all other monkeys.

I emailed the cartoonist years ago and he never answered back.  I would not be surprised though if he had some connections to people in Aruba and maybe the "rumor mill" gave him the idea for the cartoon.

My Dad told me early on that initial statements are key to facts. Time goes on and as time goes on, spin is BS. Seems Kermit nailed it! My Dad always believed Natalie was killed on the beach by Joran and Paulus disposed of her body at sea. Kyle and John will have to take up their roles with God on Judgement Day... Dad always believed Natalie was in the cage....

At times, our family thought dad was too obsessed with Natalie and scared monkeys..he poured so much time trying to rationalize to us his time on the computer. Over time, I finally got it that he was consumed with getting justice for Natalie and had a connection with like minded people on scared monkeys....my dad treasured the time he spent here......

The Alabama native was on a five-day high school graduation trip to Aruba with more than 100 students and seven chaperones from Mountain Brook High School.

- Eleven people have been arrested or detained a total of 14 times in connection with Holloway’s disappearance.

- Van der Sloot has been arrested twice in the Alabama teen’s case, yet he has never been charged in connection with her disappearance.

- A 2009 Lifetime movie about Holloway drew 3.2 million viewers when it premiered and was the network’s highest-rated film.

- On May 11, 2009, as the fourth anniversary of Holloway's disappearance approached, her case was added to the cold case file at the National Museum of Crime and Punishment in Washington, D.C.

- In November 2010, a jaw bone washed up on a beach in Aruba, but a DNA test confirmed it did not belong to Holloway.

- Van der Sloot is currently imprisoned for the 2010 murder of Stephany Flores Ramirez, who was killed exactly five years after Holloway was last seen.

- Van der Sloot, who was sentenced to 28 years, is eligible for parole in 2019. When he is released, he will be extradited to the U.S. on charges that he defrauded and extorted money from Beth Holloway.

- Natalee Holloway, who went missing in 2005, would have turned 29 next October. She was declared legally dead in January 2012.

Thanks to Robin Sax for the shout out and remembering who was there in the beginning and at the forefront of the Natalee Holloway missing persons case. I have to admit, this is a tough listen. Robin and Stacy did a nice job and the funny part was there is a part in this interview where they take over and keep talking and following up each other.

 It should make everyone say thank you and give Dana Pretzer big time kudos for the work he does on the radio. Dana has the facts, the dates, the personality, the where with all to know what to ask and how to say it and he'd got the pipes.

What was up with the intro's like it was announcing players at a basketball team? YIKES!!!  ::MonkeyEek::

Robin made a great point and she is 100% correct ... this was the first social media case and it was long before Facebook.

This case put web sleuthing and the Internet as a media tool on the map. I can't begin to tell you the number of shows that contacted SM and wanted to use us as background material, of course not giving us credit because their bosses would have gone mental that they got their news and sources from the web. Remember, 10 years ago the MSM did not really have a web presence and it was not at all interactive like it is today.

I have so many stories like this that would just astound people as to how it happened. A major news organization that will go unnamed once contacted us as to how in the hell we were beating them to the story with all the resources and $'s they had in play.

many stories to follow because in the end, we sadly never found Natalee, but what came of it was a new way to investigate, cover and provide law enforcement and families with new tools.

I remember driving Beth back to Alabama from Florida, we were both taking part in one of the searches for Caylee Anthony in FLA. This was not the MB home you see in tonight's Greta special, but the one she lived in after that. I went to her home and saw all the items that were Natalee's, the pics and just broke down. I told her I was so sorry and I felt like I had failed her in not finding Natalee. Being down there in Aruba and going thru that living hell of searching for her, especially in the landfill, was something that changes a person forever.

I meet and know Beth is to love her. She is such a strong person and understood that so many cared and stopped their lives for her and her family to find Natalee. There was never a time whenever I saw or talked to Beth that she didn't ask about the Monkeys. Beth is a special kind of person.

Joran Van der Sloot needs to be shipped back to the States and get some Alabama justice!!!

I thought it was absolutely excellent-so good to see her two friends, Claire Fierman and Mollie Tucker; Beth looks so good-her attitude is so inspiring; I need to purchase that book Portrait of a Monster, by Cole Thompson and Lisa Pulitzer as in their interview quips they sounded very in tune with the facts and have Joran's diabolical persona down pat. And..... John Q. Kelly is still gorgeous ...and nice.

I am not sure what would be a better situation ... Joran getting pulled over by a couple of Alabama State troopers or annoucing in an Alabama lockup that this is the scum bag who murdered Natalee Holloway. Both would provide a swift result.

IBE, I am not quite sure if I have ever done anything like that before or since. Looking back on it, we probably should have used a little more thought. But it had to be done. There was a part of me that thought she was there, then another that said, if she was there the Aruba LE probably would not let us search it. In the coming days I am going to post some pics from the landfill search that I thought had been lost. Never seen before.

I am not sure which was worse the smell, the ammonia and sulfur burn-off or the medical waste we came across. It was like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack.

But, what made SM not just another blog or forum or media outlet covering the story is that we were down in the trenches getting down and dirty searching for Natalee. Trust me, much of the MSM in Aruba hit happy hour when we were still searching or planning for the next search or trying to wash the ick off.

I thank the Monkeys for all of you support and the support you gave Beth, Dave and so many other families.

Until tonight I didn't make the connection between Joran's extortion and the gambling trip to Peru. In a way, Beth's money was well spent. It got him into a mountaintop jail worse than anything Alabama will provide. Well worth it at twice the price. (Except for the price to Stephanie's family of course.)

Honestly, Beth is one of the strongest individuals I have ever me. That is not to say I have not seen times of her pain. Over the years we have had opportunities to talk about so many things. She is such a nice person.

She is an amazing person. She is an inspiration and the people that talk ill of her have no idea. As Beth says, she is the mom that no one wants to be. But mark my words, she is the woman that so many woman and men for that matter wish they could be like. Especially in time of a crisis.

Remember how the Monkeys, here in the US, made protests outside where Aruba would have a travel booth to boost their tourism?

It was a little aery to see Joran sitting at the casino table in Peru in 2010 looking pretty much identical to him sitting at the casino table in Aruba in 2005. Imagine if Aruba actually had just enforced their own laws and did not allow underage individuals, especially those from Aruba, in the casino, they would never have met.

When my family first started going to Aruba in the 70's and into the 80's and 90's Aruba was more strict on age and they set limits on the number of times a native could go to a casino. They didn't want their citizens to lose all their $'s to the casinos.

It is no coincidence that the deaths of Natalee and Stephany happened on the same day, five years apart. I am in the process of working on a piece called ' A Tale of Two Murders'.

He was such a smug smart a-- ... Fancied himself a real stud muffin ... in my view, when Natalee rejected him, he went ballistic and lost it - it seems so very simple and clear.  Then the coverup began, and oh how it ballooned and mushroomed. So cold and so cruel. So vicious.

Tonight's Greta show was a good recap of Natalee Holloway, but nothing new.

Here is a story from the past regarding Greta. I first met Greta in 2005 when I went to Aruba with TES to search for Natalee. Greta was going her show from Aruba in an outside venue. I met her following one of the shows as she usually had a large crowd waiting to meet and great both her and Beth. As I go closer and closer in the line I saw some of the staff kind of pointing at me and they whispered to her. As I finally got to introduce myself she looked at me and said, I know who you are, You are RED from the Scared Monkeys web site. I nodded my head and said, yup, that's me. I never realized how small she was. It was quite remarkable just how many of the media knew who I was and tried to follow me knowing that I had inside connections.

We chatted for a while and she invited me to a get-together that she and her staff were having later that night. She also introduced me to Beth for the first time. You have to remember my first involvement in the case was through Dave and TES. Beth also was very aware of SM and knew what we did. I gave Beth a big hug and said this was for all the members of SM who were behind her. That was the beginning of my dealings with Beth and the many emails & talks ... most of which were never made public.

It will basically analyze the Natalee and Stephany murders and show the similarities and glaring differences. One difference cost Joran Van der Sloot is freedom.

A book, you never know.

I think most people would be stunned if they ever knew some of the behind the scene stuff. Especially some of the networks when they got scooped. Many a network contacted me and wanted to know how I was getting the stories before them. What was funny if all remember back is that the news was so fluid on Aruba and breaking that we were talking about it on SM long before the news outlet shows were talking about it at 7, 8 or 9 pm.

There was no Twitter or Facebook back then.

We literally had people sending emails, VIDEOS and pics from Aruba from the top of hotels and showing us the latest searches as they were happening live. That and I had many a contact down there as my family had been traveling there since the 70's.

Way back when Tom and I had to create the Forum as a way to have people discuss the case and provide info and data as we could not keep up with the comments on the Front page blog. It was the first website to really ever incorporate the two. If people remember we had to create posts that were just for comments originally to try and keep up with the 1000's of comments. Every time we refreshed there was another 200 that needed to be moderated.

I haven't been through all you have searching for her, Red, but this case definitely changed me too.

I'd never posted on an internet forum, or researched an MP case.  It seems like a lifetime ago now!

And I think we've all felt inadequate at times, wishing we could have done more to bring Natalee home where she belongs.

My oldest also graduated HS in 2005, and that drew me in at first.  Beth, and her love for Natalee, understanding as a mom her determination to find her; and learning more about sweet beautiful Natalee, kept my interest.  There were years that I know my family secretly resented the amount of time I spent captivated by and going through every detail of this case.  I could sense their frustration at times.  But after five years, when Aruba's failure to prosecute allowed Joran to murder Stephany too, that was the wake up call for them.  They have always been supportive, but after that they started trying to be helpful too, making sure I didn't miss anything that came out about Natalee's or Stephany's cases, and that was heartwarming.

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences.  Scared Monkeys was definitely the place to be for breaking news early in the case.  I was here even when I was too scared to post, and it was hard to keep up!  Finally got a login and then got shutout after the crash for over a year or so, but finally got back in.  So glad to be a part of this wonderful group, thanks for having us!

I watched the show twice, and although it was good, it offered nothing new.  I did find some of Joran's answers more revealing in his duplicity, or maybe I was just reading between the lines after following the strange twists in the case.

Wow, Texasmom, thank you for your time and trouble in posting those excerpts.  Now I simply must purchase that book-what in-depth research they did.  One can only conclude that nobody ever taught Joran from a wee age that he should control his temper.

Hi Monks and Monkettes - just got off the phone with TJ - needed something else and had a chance to ask about Natalee. That was TJ in the video last week with the search and rescue dog in the new video with Dave.

Also - he does believe this new witness - did a voice layered analysis and he is telling the truth. At least the truth as he knows it. They don't know when they are going - but they are going.

I also offered my Hyatt Gold Passport points to TJ and Dave if they need additional days on the island. They could stay another four or five days with these points. I don't have a lot - but they are available to Dave and TJ. It's the right thing to do.

TJ did say that that area was not searched and I asked to check with Tim Miller - and TJ replied that they think it's a fresh and new targeted area. They have the blueprints and are hopeful this could be something new.

Personally, I think this area was searched, many times, TES was stationed nearby - but it needs checked again because of the new witness.

Yes, Dave said that they checked into the Marriott as guests and walked around with the cadaver dog in the unrestricted areas that guests are allowed into, but were not allowed to search where they actually wanted to search.

I've been trying to figure out why they went if it wasn't a planned search with permits and all the "required" BS down there.  And now they're going back again?

One or two other points - TJ did mention that the new witness was a drug dealer. I didn't really pry that out if him - it's conversational. That seems to be why he didn't come forward before. I think that's been posted here before. I replied that everyone is a criminal of some sort - and that doesn't excuse it.

Also, I was there from 1999 and 2005 on a regular basis - I saw alot of construction. Yet, I don't remember any like what was described by this new witness. And I was staying next door. Some kept me up at night and some ruined the days on the beach. But staying on Palm Beach so many times I don't remember this exact construction that could hide Natelee. I was up and down that beach all the time. Seem far-fetched to me. I saw the Radisson re-acquisitioned and finally completed. That was more noise than anyone could bear, on vacation.

As I mentioned I boycotted Aruba after Natalee. So I haven't been back for 10 years now. Last time was 10-20 days after Natelee was missing in  2005. If you remember I gave my gambling winnings to TES and did as much as I could at Tierra Del Sol when they were there. I also bought all the bottled water on Palm Beach to give to the dogs.

Let's hope something positive happens.

Anyway - if I find out anything more - I'll surely let you know.

No idea Klaas - TJ says they are searching - just doesn't know when. I don't know every detail and readily admit that. I need a phone number and a person searched for a criminal background - so while I asked that I threw a few more out there for TJ. This is a long story but kind of based on some of the stuff I told you in a previous email a few months ago.

It's Sunday nite and it's kind of improper to ask too much of someone on short notice outside of business hours - even though he owes me like 50 favors. I cash them in sparingly.

Why haven't they done it already?

Seriously.  What could be better for tourism than to be able to say before the 10th anniversary that they finally gave this family peace?  But if that was even a thought, it would have already been done IMO. 

If there's a chance she's there, the witness getting caught trying to drill through the floor should have set a fire under them, right?

Aruban authorities today dismissed claims by a man who says he saw what happened to Natalee Holloway 10 years ago.

Chief Prosecutor Eric Olthof said he asked the Aruban police to look into claims made by Jurrien De Jong to Inside Edition that he saw Joran van der Sloot, the primary suspect in Holloway's disappearance, chase her into a small building under construction. He says van der Sloot then reemerged with Holloway in his arms, slammed her body on the floor then made an opening in a crawl space.

He has previously told media this building is the Spyglass Tower of the Marriott Hotel in Aruba. "I saw Natalee Holloway on the last night that she was alive. I was the eyewitness," Jurrien De Jong told Inside Edition. "I knew she was dead."

De Jong said he never went to the police because he was involved in illegal activities at the time. He says he has come forward now because of a recent TV report where van der Sloot claims he was part of an undercover operation in which Holloway was buried at sea. Holloway disappeared in Aruba in May 2005 during a trip with graduating seniors from Mountain Brook High School.

De Jong's claims led Holloway's father, Dave Holloway, to return to Aruba earlier this month with Atlanta private investigator T.J. Ward and a cadaver dog. "He's telling the truth,'' Ward told AL.com earlier this week, saying that he conducted voice analysis on De Jong.

Earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported that van der Sloot also debunked De Jong's claims. Van der Sloot's attorney, Maximo Altez, said: 'Joran doesn't care at all about what is going on in Aruba, because none of it is true. 'He told me he knows this guy. He's a crack head, a f***ing liar, a compulsive liar. He's homeless and wants money to buy drugs."

In a press release issued today by Ann Angela, a spokeswoman for Olthof, said the prosecutor studied the Holloway dossier, or case, following De Jong's statement "as a supposed eye witness", and examined a notarized statement given by De Jong.

"Even though Mr. De Jong has not presented more plausible proof of his claims (his current testimony is identical to the one he gave in 2013 to the Prosecutor's Office), Chief Prosecutor Olthof commissioned the police to contact the management of the Marriott -considering the type of case, the importance of the case and the long duration of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway- with the request to supply information about the state of the construction site of the Spyglass Tower of the Marriott hotel on the 30th of May 2005,'' Angela said in the press release. "In short: what was built and what was not yet built on that 30th of May 2005, the night of the disappearance of Natalee?"

Angela said that if new tips and leads that are "sufficiently concrete and well-founded surface in the (near) future" should arise, they will be investigated by the police and prosecutor's office in the hopes of finally closing the case and bring the suspect or suspects to justice. "At the moment however, the Police and the Prosecutor's Office unfortunately do not have any new tips or leads in this case,'' she said.

Holloway says he remembers seeing the construction area surrounded by the fence. He also remembers that no one felt led to look inside the fence because they didn’t think anyone could get in that area.

“Whether I believe him or not, I can’t struggle with the ‘what if.’ What if it is true? And what can I do to satisfy my mind in a potential clue that could solve the case,” said Holloway.

Holloway says the Marriott is waiting on a warrant from Aruban police before they will allow a search.

“For them to indicate that they will make their decision in a month or two kind of tells me that they have no intentions of doing it. Simply to not do it, they need to give me a reason. A very good reason,” Holloway said.

While there have been many promising leads that have come and gone throughout the past ten years, Holloways says one thing that has never changed is the love for his daughter.

But I do have one more OT question for you if you don’t mind.  My wife and I were at the Marriott Surf Club last week.  We noticed that the land adjacent to the Surf Club was cleared.  I think it had to be recent, as I don’t remember it that way in June.  Do you know if condos are to be built there or is that just an extension of the new malls?  With the two new malls going up and the final Surf Club building soon to be completed, that area is going to soon see a lot more traffic.

An interesting find at TBHS...
The kid is 19 and there's every reason to think Joran might know him. He would be an excellent go-to guy in a bad situation. However, this company would be an excellent go-to guy for the MB mafia should they need to quietly vanish a body. And if we're looking for a logical "major friend" for Charles Croes, the owner of this company would certainly qualify as the visibility teams were initially involved in the search for Natalee. Is this why regular police were not contacted? Because the chaperone was already working w/a private company?

Like I said, the name "van Cromvoirt" is very interesting, especially seeing as how they're running security on a building site (Marriott) that is a project of a huge Birmingham construction firm, with one overseas office--in Noord, Aruba.

Natalee Holloway's parents have finally found new joy, 10 years after their beautiful blonde teenage daughter disappeared on a Caribbean island in one of the biggest missing person mysteries of the 21st century.

Dave and Beth Holloway now have a new little girl to shower with love, even as they know Natalee will never be coming home.

TJ called me a few minutes ago - as you know he is on with Dana tonight. He tells me that some of the articles we have all been reading are wrong and / or incorrect / embellished or lies. This new witness doesn't want any money nor compensation. He is adamant about it.

TJ and I had quite a laff at van der Sloot calling someone else a liar. Most here already pointed that out. Very funny stuff. TJ did use the F word quite a bit describing that - but that's to be expected.

Anyway - sounds like it will be a very informative webcast / podcast and they always are with Dana. Looking forward to it, like everyone else.

Oh, one other note - they have not been denied the ability to search. I read that somewhere - maybe here, or maybe elsewhere. They haven't even asked yet.

I think I can tell you this and not get any grief - TJ seems to have a new show on the horizon, after all these years and quite frankly he's long overdue. This is something that was on the horizon many times. He is due this opportunity. He has five or six longterm employees that will also be a part of this new program.

Last night he did solve a police case that has been lingering in the Atlanta community - didn't get into all the details - maybe Dana will ask. I'm sure TJ will expand if he is asked.

Aruba authorities never investigated when they did have leads, now they are quick to sound just like Joran and his mouthpiece attorney.

Yep, they are so quick to discredit de Jong but some how to do so is to believe Joran Van der Sloot. De Jong does not say he is a choir boy, he admitted he was doing illegal things back then.
