Like Mrs. Red, we have an old computer that Dugga confirmed will not work with chat, therefore, I truly hope that those who prefer chat stop in here often, because it's the only option I have right now...

IMO. the "newness" of chat will wear off for lots of folks, in time. I think of "chat" as the ladies room ( sorry guys ) where gossip prevails. But while I'm glad it's there, I don't want to stay there throughout the party!  :lol: :lol:

2NJ - I think people will be spending some time at both places now. I like to read all the Natalee discussion that takes place and try to store up the facts in my head. However, I'm kind of a smarty pants and can't resist making silly comments to people when I post. I was afraid I was going to get into trouble for that after we made the last format change, so I've been keeping myself primarily in chat. If this thread is what we've been used to, and it's okay for me to be a smarty pants sometimes, then I know I will be spending more time here and less in chat.

My neighbor decided to use his chainsaw today at 7am and cut off every living thing seperating our property :-| Everytime I thought he was done I would try to go back to sleep only for him to start up again..Now that I am awake and up he stopped  :smt075 :gaah:

We've had construction in our neighborhood for weeks....they start at 7am..hammering away, but not on weekends.  One week when it was really hot, they started around 6am...after several days, DH called police headquarters and that ended that. 

Hope he didn't cut anything on your property...

Opus has posted old Billyright posts that are claimed to be from the NH.net site from July 30, 2005.  My problem with the Billyright posts are that I can find NOTHING except reference to these July posts.  It was posted last year on the front page of SM as well. 

My question is if anyone remembers Billyright?  Do you know of he was in Aruba?  What is to say Billyright isn't another Kelmal/Gretamal or just someone with an overactive imagination.

On the previous thread I was asking if Joran had any friends in Virginia because there was a major troll at that HGCTV blog using like 12 diffrent names. Makes me wonder where Val and the other brother were sent to in the states in early june 2005?

Would just like to say that it would seem that anybody who has the knowledge & ability to hookup remotely to computer(s) physically removed from their location would be in full ability to disguise where their posts are originating from.  I know myself I have this feature turned off on my PC as in the past some no good hacker did just that to me & then sent off lots of emails.

Thinking outloud for those who have never had similar experiences.

Billy used to confront Scubajap on the RWV thingie and when he posted to her, he seemed to know her and Julia and said things that made me feel that he knew them and had been in Aruba.  I was told that Billy was from Palm Beach and had some personal grudge against Aruba (I cannot remember for what) but that was told to me by someone who might have been lapping at the saucer of AHATA.

Does scrux have more of the book translantions than we have here?  Just wondering about page 93, at the moment.

Klaas, there are many Billright posts missing, as they would be deleted immediately in many cases and then Billy began posting under other aliases.  I wish I could remember all the names he posted under, and he used different IPs which drove Dan nuts.

Anyone have any news on the Utah miners?  I have been searching the web, and not seeing much update.  I guess if there was, someone would post it.  I hope we get something positive and soon.

It really doesn't look too promising that we will be receiving any news on the Miner's in Utah for quite some time.  Big surprise, nothing changed after the Sago Mine disaster & rescue plans are far from rescue but more or less nothing but recover.

Did you know the caretaker that was killed on Ving Rhames property was NOT killed by the dogs?  I posted the update article under the Ving Rhames thread.  He had bites, like he had been pulled or tugged on his arms legs, but NO bites to his head and torso.  The media made such a sensation in the beginning, saying he was mauled by the mastiffs, but no follow up to say the autopsy shows he wasn't killed by the dogs.

In case anyone was interested, the Ving Rhames thread is in the monkey lounge.  And the caretaker was a young actor.  Nice photo and article about him.

As you know, I scan Diario and Amigoe every day for murder & mayhem on Aruba. (Occasionally I see something else of interest; i.e., stories about tourism.)

I have been posting certain of the crimes on the M&C thread and usually also in the LCD, so other monkeys will know.

I think it would be excessive to post in 3 places - here, the current Natalee thread, and M&C thread.

Other than the M&C thread, should I routinely post the crimes here, or in the Natalee thread?

We aren't expected to discuss M&C on Aruba only in the M&C thread. What's important is that the information we have is in that ONE place.

That's how I feel about S&S too. I don't mind S&S posts wherever (although I am not that much into them), but the S&S thread should be the ONE place where their actual posts, and anything we think we've figured out, should be. Just so the wheel doesn't have to be reinvented.

(For instance, S&S comments aligned with the timeline as we know it, is a good piece of work. I can see that being treated in a similar manner as the Summary in the M&C thread.)

Just my opinion, of course.

The News reports from Aruba whether directly related to Natalee or regarding tourism should be posted the same as always, in the M&C thread and in the Natalee Discussion thread but NOT HERE.

Ongoing Shango/Simian discussion should be in the Shango/Simian thread in the NH forum.  An occasional reference here is no big deal. 

This is a thread for any topic thoughts.  Any actual NEWS on particular MP cases belong in the appropriate thread.  Any actual NEWS about the mine disaster or any other current even can be mentioned here but really should have it's own thread here in the Current Events forum.

Mrs. Red - when JR and Boucheron left FOB, they left it with nobody to delete posts or ban people.  Trolls (pro Natalee) infiltrated FOB.  Moonshadows created a new forum called FOB2 which is invite only so they wouldn't get trolls. 

FOB apprears to be done with now and only FOB2 (invite only) is till up.

Yes it could be depending on the way its used in the sentence structure.  Literal translations are sometimes different when read in context.

Yes, I think this will work well.  Anything about Natalee in the Natalee Thread/Threads with a link here (if the poster wants to put one).  With IE7 Tabbed browsing, one could in theory even have a tab open here and one in Natalee thread if fearful of missing something.  Or one for here and one for Front Page.

Don't know if that is OK to do or if Dugga would object to more than one tab being open in the Forum/Blog.  What do you think, Klaas?

You can have as many tabs or browsers open that you want.  I usually have at least 3 forum tabs open at a time.

I have two open right now and the Page creation speed is .09 or super fast.  But is we all have multiple tabs, would it get slower, I wonder.

It makes sense to me to have the NH discussions in Natalee's own thread and all the other everyday day stuff in this thread.  I am sure an occasional mention of Natalee would not be frowned on here but it is easier for everyone to keep their thoughts and discussions on track with separate threads.
Guess it just makes more for Klaas to oversee though. I can imagine her sitting in front of a row of monitors watching each thread like a security camera network :lol: :lol:

An occasional discussion of Natalee isn't frowned upon here because most of the time we are going over old stuff.  But if it is something new that is discovered and discussed it should be in the NH thread (Photos, court date, etc).

This is what Klaas posted in the beginning of the thread:

This thread will be like the old LCD thread.  We only request that if you have actual news, photos or pertenant facts on specific cases you post in the proper area.

Example:  If you have a news article or photo or specific information on the NH or other MP cases please post in either the NH thread or the MP thread.  If you have information on a court date in the NH case, please post in the NH thread, etc.

If you really just want to chat about silly stuff, please go to the chat room.

Other than that, discussion about all topics is welcome and this thread will act as our "meeting place and hang out".

I completely agree, Tibro.  It isn't confusing at all.  Discuss Natalee in her thread and Current Events and other things that don't have a thread of their own here as well as a link to announcements made in any of the different threads/forums if poster wants to.

i get the concept of the boards I have 3 windows open and find it hard to keep up also it seems a little fragmented at times( makes our dicussions fragmented) I loved the old way where you could just jump right in in one thread. for the most part the majority of monkeys posted on subject. I fell that his fragments our monkys, but am willing to give it the old try.

the biggest plus is for people who work and don't have as much computer time...it takes so long to look for any new news. this way...you can go to the natalee thread...get all the news and any new ideas out there being discussed...and then if you have time go and catch up with all your monkey friends and just shoot the bull! :P

Internet Explorer Version 7 has little index tabs at the top of the page that show which site you are on.  I put more than one on SM and still can do two other sites open at the same time.  Maybe more, haven't tried, but they are shown as little tabs at the top of the page and you can close them one by one.

You may be doing this but I didn't know what else to call it but tabbed browser.  If you have the last version of Internet Explorer, I think this is what you are doing, too.

Anna - I have 6 IE7 tabs (3 are SM).  You can open another IE browser window and have another bunch of tabs there too.  I don't think there is a limit to how many tabs or how many browsers you have open.  Only in how much demand it puts on your own PC as far as memory goes.

Yep.....that's how it works. If your puter can handle it you can have endless open.

It is very helpful with the tabs.  I had a lot of tabs open because I felt I had to be every where but I realize I can just keep two open for SM.

For a monkey to show up on your desktop you have to "right mouse click" on this website and say "create shortcut". That will put a shortcut icon on your desktop that should be a monkey  :wink:

I don't know CUZ, but maybe last thing, logout and close the SM windows?  Then the next one to use your puter wouldn't have a clue where you had been.  At least that is what I think but others know far more about that than me.  No one else uses my computer so I don't have to use care in that regard.

Although I have suspected the dogs a few times when strange items arrive in dog food orders like toys!   :P

This happened a few years back.  My husband does all the vacuuming.

Anyway, we had this vacuum for about 2 years.  My husband was sitting on the couch and spilled a bowl of nuts in his lap.  So I told him, just sit there and I'll get the vacuum.

So I got the vacuum, plugged it in and took it over to the couch.  Then I just stood there looking at it.

I have a little Mikimoto pearl story...An ex-boyfriend gave me a really pretty pearl and diamond ring about 3 years ago.  I loved it! After we broke up I couldn't wear it so I put it in my jewlery box.  When I was packing to move in Feb I found the box for it.  I guess I never read the writing on the inside of the box because it said that it was a Mikimoto Pearl.  A friend was helping me pack and I said--OMG that is a Mikimoto pearl!  That's what Mrs Red wants!--She was like--what are you talking about--so i tried to explain you and SM---she didn't get it.  But I guess I found out the ex wasn't such a tight wad.

I have a vaccum cleaner story that is funny NOW but at the time wasn't.  I was vacuuming ashes from off the hearth when I smelled smoke and turned around and the whole room was full of it.  I vacuumed up some hot embers that had caught on fire inside the vacuum cleaner!  I drug it outside by the hose but it burned a spot on the floor!

My father-in-law, sister-in-law, and sister-in-law's husband's aunt have been staying with us since Thursday afternoon, and I just found out they're staying until tomorrow at 3 o'clock, at which point I'll have the privelege of driving them to the airport during rush hour. For the past three days we have done nothing but sit in the car or the hot sun, waiting to cheer for them in this fundraising walk they were doing...and if anyone ever uttered a complaint about being the least bit uncomfortable, it was rendered illegitimate by the fact that we hadn't walked 20 miles that day (never mind that I am four-and-a-half months pregnant, and it does take a certain amount of time and energy to create and incubate a human life for nine months...I realize that pales in comparison to long-distance walking).

My husband has gotten no work done this weekend and is in a terrible mood. My guests have washed a white towel with colors (there's a reason why my towels are fluffy, white, and beautiful--and it's because I only wash them with other whites), run a Waterford highball glass through the dishwasher, practically gone through every linen tea towel I own, and one actually doctored the boils on her feet on a white duvet cover on my grandmother's antique bed. (Ever heard of doing first aid in a bathroom?)

I have had one round of houseguests after another continuously since August 2. I thought they'd be leaving tomorrow morning and I could go on to have a somewhat normal day. Now I have to cancel my lunch plans, and I have less than a day to get my house back in order, design a poster as a favor, and pack for my trip home.

I am seriously about to cry and have no one to talk to.

Lalas,  I am terrified of mice.  Much more so than spiders that I can just smush.  Mice have TEETH.  Big ones, too.  You were right to have DH handle the matter.

But see what I mean about vacuum cleaners?  They are just plain evil at times.  I swear a couple of mine have been possessed.  In addition the the one trying to kill me about the hot embers, once there was a bug on the lip of an aquarium and so I thought I could just slurp it up with the vacuum but instead, without my touching it at all for I was VERY careful not to do so, the next thing I knew, water was shorting out the vacuum and I was knocked for a loop!  It just slurped up the water on its own without my actually touching it!

Dangerous appliances!

OMG, I'd be going nuts.  I'm terrible with company that stays.  I don't mind a party but overnight guests are not my cup of tea.  Even when we have a party here I hate having others in my kitchen. 

I truely feel for you!  Pregnant too and the heat!   {{{{HUGS}}}}  Get an icepack or a bowl of ice cream.  Put your feet up.  At least there is light at the end of the tunnel.  One more day.

Blue KY Girl, can you call them a cab for tomorrow?  You need to get up with a terrible backache, unable to even stand straight if you get my drift! 

And seriously, extreme heat is NOT good for those pregnant.  You have not only rights but the obligation to put the baby you are carrying ahead of other adults who can take care of themselves.

I have a real thing about people who are not considerate of others who are pregnant, guess you can tell!  That was one time I did demand to be given special consideration and would just balk like anything at doing anything that made me feel uncomfortable no matter how minor it was.  I think we know we have limitations at that time we don't normally have and others need to adjust to them.

I'm back and want to thank you all for your sweet, warm wishes and understanding.

I agree, Anna--pregnancy seems to have given me a huge sense of entitlement (to comfort, mostly), and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

It seems that everyone is going to sleep, so I wanted to say goodnight to all and thank you again for your words of support. It means a lot to know there are those who understand and are listening.

I just had an epiphany about motherhood which I hope will help me. It had to do with my husband's weekend more than mine--if anyone in his family had once been understanding of the fact that he is constantly buried in work, if anyone had been kind enough to think about things from his perspective and say, "It's OK--go do what you need to do--we understand. You're not required to be here," and made him feel less obligated to be there for every second of the weekend's activities, it certainly would have helped him a lot.

I'm going to treat this whole neverending horrible weekend as a lesson in empathy and understanding that will prevent me from putting unrealistic expectations on my own child, and understanding when he/she is doing all he/she can.

Take care, BlueKYGirl.  I would be furious about my duvet cover and all the other insults.  You are pregnant and you need to be thinking about your health and that of the baby which is directly tied to yours.  I know hard work never hurt us, but when it is in the heat in the midst of a pregnancy, that is a bit much and besides the emotional roller coaster with ruining your nice linens and leaving a mess for you to clean up.  I would be jumping up and down like a fat shortstop.

I am going to suggest to you that you come up with a LIST OF HOUSE RULES, print it out on your computer, or hand print on nice paper & put in a frame, use colors of your bathroom & place it where ALL CAN READ.

That's a sure way of knowing whether they should ever be your house guest again or you call the nearest hotel/motel when they are going to be in the area & you can provide them the phone number as they DIDN'T FOLLOW the house rules.

I know that not everyone agrees with me, but I believe that beyond the HI story told to ALE, there is continually mounting lies and inconsistencies that have been left unchallenged that have potential for criminal charges. ( Anna, I may have just beaten your long sentence record.)

Joran is largely responsible for the growing heap. He just cannot keep his mouth shut. I want the Dutch to prepare themselves with every nuance of conflicting statement from interviews, statements, books, cell and computer records, and taped conversations, and blitz a synchronized "haul" of every person of interest in this case into jail for intense questioning. I include members of ALE who had custody of evidence or obstructed normal proceedings in this scenario. Keep them separated, confront them long and hard with the inconsistencies and one of two things would happen IMO.

Either they would gain enough info to come up with physical evidence, or they would have overwhelming evidence for the soundest circumstantial case in history. Certainly, they would have lessor charges in their pocket.

That's my wish. I don't think anyone can claim at this point, to have done a reliable investigation into the case of Natalee Holloway with anything short of that undertaking. JMO.

I wonder if the best solution to move anything at all further is for the family to file a civil suit in Aruba. Not that I think that will ever happen, but I wish it would!

Question....why did the FBI not search the water at the very beginning?  It was one of the first slaps that the FBI received from Aruba. They had divers and the equipment.  What was the reasoning by the ALE to not allow it?  What had happened to cause it?  Anyone?

Easy, I think the tainted food guy was executed and really fast.  Like before anybody could ask him any questions or conduct any of those embarrassing interviews.  Fast trial and even faster execution.

This one saved them all that trouble it appears.

ALE decided to show the world their monumental efforts to pursue this case by draining a friggin pond and doing air shows instead. It was never about getting to the bottom of what happened or finding Natalee. They MUST have known what happened and the object was to NOT divuldge it, but show the world to what lengths they'd go to keep their island "safe and happy" without revealing the nasty underbelly.

The suggestion of ocean searches required big efforts to divert attention.

I think the "air show" was an excuse to be able to fly over some of those areas for a close look and to intimidate Venezuela.  JMO

It began with volleyball.  Down at the pool (but not water volleyball)  I was doing well until I was up in the air and a kid ran into me.  Naturally I caught myself on my right wrist.  Broke it.  It was about 7 p.m. on the 4th of July.  I know better than to think there's an orthopedist sitting around waiting for this to happen to me.  So I put my arm on ice, found some pain pills and had a beer.  Nobody was driving anybody anywhere.  Next morning, I drove myself to the doc in the box so they could x-ray and tell me what I already knew and send me to an ortho to set the break and put me in a lovely fuschia cast.

The first thing DH saw when I picked him up on his return from out of town was this spectacular cast hanging out the window.

Lawton said he was trying to milk the goat.

Lawton missed a scheduled arraignment on August 3rd but turned himself in last night to Pierce County sheriff's deputies.

He's the second person charged in the county since the Legislature made bestiality a crime in response to the fatal injury to a man having sex with a horse in Enumclaw.

A man accused of having sex with the family pit bull dog was acquitted in May.

Directions
Grate the Algae and pinch the Fungus. If the Algae is grating on you, pinch it too.

Sprinkle 3 cups fresh Flies over the now sticky Shoe and enjoy!

Waiting for the lawnmower story but that does sound ominous.  Those things are more evil than vacuum cleaners!

I had this lawnmower for eons, and had to get psychologically prepared to use it – not about cutting the grass, but about getting the @%$*&% thing to start. (One of those pull cord things.) Usually I was exhausted by the time it kicked in.

So. One fine day, I psyched myself up to this task, and lo and behold – it started on the FIRST TRY!

I was so startled that I fell over backward.

Left foot scraped the mower’s housing, but I thought nothing of it at the time, and of course I didn’t DARE turn off the lawn mower!

Two hours later, I turn the mower off, and hear a squishing sound as I walk. Look down, and my left shoe is a dirty red color covered by a whole lot of grass clippings. (I was wearing old white sneakers.)

~ sparing certain grim details here, but I was able to drive to the ER without getting blood all over the car  :lol: ~

It was not the blade, it was the edge of the metal housing, that cut through my shoe and the tippy tip of my big toe. At the ER, they had to remove the toe nail to take stitches.

The doctor told me that had he known beforehand that I worked for < a VERY well known health insurance company > he would have removed my toe nail without benefit of anesthesia.

I think that was a joke.

You have just been through so much this year!  It has been one thing after another for you and I truly hope and pray it is behind you now. 

I remembered you were sorting through things and I have taken on the mountain of paper I have collected and am trying to sort through that.  Most of it can go so you inspired me to do that.  Old financial records, stock actions, things like that, five years is all that is required to keep them for tax purposes so I am pitching out massive amounts of papers, most shredded.  The shredding takes the longest as I have a tiny little machine.

BTW, our weather calls for a high of 103 every day this week and we have had no real rain since about Easter.  I have never seen anything like this in this area in my life.  Trees are already losing lower leaves, etc.  Grass is just about gone, all brown and crunchy.  But it is the dust that I hate and it is everywhere.  The backsides of curtains are dusty where it creeps in around the windows even with storm windows.  A layer forms on everything in a couple of days. 

Welcome to the new desert southeast!  Although in the southern part of the state, they have had more rain than up here in the northern part.  This extreme heat is just making it all worse, too.

Here is what I found out today...don't know if it's old news or not...I just write down our conversations.

Very interesting conversation with XXXXXXX at the XXXXXXXXXX today.  We covered a lot of ground, so I'll try to put in the best order that I can based on copious notes I took during our conversation.

First I told him who I was, he said he remembered me and that it was good to hear my voice again. I thanked him profusely for all his kind help last week, and Thanked him for being so friendly with me.

He said "Yes I remember you called about Lorenzo, so that topic is what we talked about for awhile.  I brought up again the trial status of Lorenzo again, he said that Lorenzo would not have a trial.  He tried to explain the Aruban Justice System to me....he really likes to talk, He said that Lorenzo had a private mediation with a Judge from Holland, and that the only way that Lorenzo would be brought back in for trial is that after 60 days from his release on July 25th, if a Jury requested a trial, that then Lorenzo would be brought back in to be seen by a panel of 3 Judges to determine if that should happen.  But, he also said"THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN"  and that Lorenzo had been released on time already served...18 days was the time he mentioned...so it seems that Lorenzo is scott free on the drug bust.

I did ask him if Paulus or anyone from that office was Lorenzo's Lawyer, he said no, he thought it was a Lawyer from Holland.

I then felt brave enough to bring up Joran...he immediately said "oh the Natallee case I asked him if he knew if Joran had come to Aruba during vacation, he said no Joran is in Holland for school, but then he threw in that he had heard that Joran had made a short trip to Florida for an interview, he didn't know whom with, nor what for, but from there went back to Holland.

He did tell me that Mama and Papa Sloot are on Aruba right now, and that Papa is getting to work on his new Lawyer practice.

He also told me that approx. 8 weeks ago a team of FBI Agents arrived in Aruba and questioned a lot of Police and Officials,  regarding the Nat case..and the FBI also questions some ppl from a newspapers didn't ask what paper nor who was questioned.

If he doesn't volunteer, I try not to appear too nosey.

I did ask about the KLPD investigators from Holland...he said they have all gone home now. none on the island...I asked him if the case was closed, he said no it was not...I asked him his feelings about the Nat case...his answer was that he had a *strange* feeling about the case, in fact he said this 2 times....then he went on about how Aruba is such a small island, that something should have been found, and how hard everyone worked in the beginning with the search efforts.

He also said Nancy Grace turned a lot of the locals off with how she presented Aruba....he brought this up out of the blue.

He sail the case is still very much open and is basically being handled by the KLPD in Holland and the FBI.  And, that he enjoyed talking  with me, and I could call him anytime with questions.

I used to have one of those mini aquiruims at my desk at work... had a goldfish named Otis... he was kind of cool to watch, it was soothing and helped me focus.... and one day I got back from lunch... Gene is a money making machine, very smart business man.  His kids both seems pretty decent, smart, and talented also.  His old lady just does stupid things out of spite once in a while though.

Blah,  you need to learn some political correctness in my book.  I am very aware of what "my old lady" means and it is a very degratory statement showing lack of respect for women. It is not a term of endearment.  I sorry you didn't know that.   People are wives, girlfriends, or significant people in someones life.  The term old lady is not a matter of age.  A term used to refer to your GF or your wife, etc. Usually somebody who you may like, but really don't have much respect for. Also a term used out of habit by people usually living in lower income neighborhoods.

I replied  O l d   which was the wrong thing to say..
I do not remember much of the verbage he used but the tone was very clear  and I do remember that he said if  "IF I EVER CALLED HIM HAROLD WITHOUT  "UNCLE" IN FRONT OF IT" he was going to have to have a talk my Dad about propper manners.  :shock:

To this day some 40+ years later it is always Uncle Harold... :)
