Sometimes I read them more than once, just to feel good!  :lol: Most of you know that these avi threads can get really long; check out the 4th of July one! After you've changed into your Halloween avi, and your thank you post has been here a while for me to enjoy (You guys are most welcome!), I may remove them along with my response back to you so that other folks can find their avatars easier. I am going to keep my summer avatar which you made for me, for a while longer. But in the meantime, can you please make me a Halloween avatar and I'll keep it until it gets closer to Halloween. Maybe bats / spiders / or pumpkins cascading down from my disco ball. I'd also like to give you artistic freedom if you have better ideas.

OldF ~  I do like your hat of course.  But the red eyes are really, really skeery.  If I were you, I would choose the avi with those red eyes for Halloween.   The other one is nice too, but looks like something Charlie Brown would find in his pumpkin patch.  Not skeery at all.

I fixed it for you.  CBB provided a link to her photobucket.  What I did was copy that link and pasted it where it says:  I have my own:  So next time you can try it yourself if you have a photobucket link.  If you don't have a link, then you have to right click on the avatar CBB posted and save it as a .gif.  That way it stays animated.  Then you can upload it from your PC just like you did with your other one.

You are all set now!

I found this Snoopy Pumpkin for Halloween.  Do you think I should use it like it is or could someone with more skills than I add some to it...could it be madetaller with more area above Snoopy to watch "something" flying over, or maybe black sky with stars.  CBB & Klass, you both seem to have such a wonderful imagination when it comes to dressing up the Monkey's avatars.  Klass, I love what you did with your avatar!

When I couldn't get Puzzler's link to open, I searched for Snoopy/pumpkin and got it that way. The graphic you began with, Klaas, is a better resolution. If we're voting, I like yours better.

OH! I saw the explanation of creating your avi, but was in a hurry (without aid) and wanted you to expand on making a transparency. I've had results that were transparent, but did it only with the marquee tool and then set the "feather" % to what I wanted before I "drag". That always makes the edges more transparent than the center, and I don't think that's what you did, is it?
Save yourself some time and don't be "techie" with the explanation...........remember, I don't really know ANYTHING about this program or computers in general! THANKS!

I don't know what language it's in (Dutch, I think), but I'm not sure you'd EVER need any more graphics for anything with it! "Halloween" is so you can find it, and lots of words make sense. A few are a surprise!

This is what I did.  Had to research to learn how to do transparencies.

1.  The photo needs to be a .gif but then you need to change the mode to RGB color.
2.  Then you click on LAYER then LAYER STYLE
3.  Then click on BLENDING OPTIONS
4.  Then all you have to do is play with the OPACITY slide moving it down until you have what you want. 

There are advanced options I haven't tried yet.

DIRECTIONS FOR ADDING AVATAR:

FROM THIS THREAD:
1. Copy the link under the avatar
2. Click "Profile" tab at top of the page
3. Select "Forum Profile Information" from the options to the left
4. Select the 2nd circle and Paste the copied link in the box next to it.
5. Click "Change Profile" button at the bottom of the page on right.

You will need a Photobucket account to add an avatar from other sources than this thread. Once you've set up the account (it's free), then upload the desired picture, copy the link in the first box (I think. If not, try the second box) under the photobucket picture and begin at number 2. in the above directions.

Klaas may be able to add further directions. This is how I do it.  :D

To save a photo posted here or on another website to your hard drive:

1.  Right mouse click on the photo
2.  Save the photo (you can name it anything you want)
3.  If it is an animated photo make sure you save it as a .gif, otherwise it will lose it's animation.

Hi, Monkeys! Boy has it been a busy few weeks for Dugga! :-)

I'm all dressed for halloween in my spooky "Frank the Bunny" avatar.

I thought I'd peek in and say hello since it's been awhile since I've seen many of you.

I have commandeered my kids little red wagon to help tote my huge trick-or-treating haul. And I've made sure that Mom Dugga has sewn up all the holes in my oversized pillowcase because I don't want any candy spillage.
