Title: Boston Travel Show - Sea Port 2008 - photos and audio
Post by: klaasend on February 23, 2008, 02:34:14 PM
MONKEYS HAVE ARRIVED IN BOSTON ... MONKEYS HAVE ARRIVED IN BOSTON  ... MONKEYS HAVE ARRIVED IN BOSTON

It would appear that the Monkeys have braved the harsh winter snow storms in New England (http://www.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/2008/02/as_intense_snow.html?p1=Well_MostPop_Emailed2) and have made it to the Boston Travel Show.

Quote
A blinding storm has shrouded Massachusetts in a white blanket of snow, slowing traffic to a crawl and causing spinouts across the state.

What began this morning as a dusting has roiled into a near blizzard that is expected to dump up to 8 inches of snow. Despite the intensity of the squalls, however, few major accidents or traffic jams have been reported.

Traffic is “definitely lighter today being a school vacation week,” said Lieutenant Eric Anderson of the State Police. “I think people also realized the storm was coming. The state and businesses let people go home early. I think that really helped.”

We have our first report from them from Boston. Stay tune for more comments, pics and videos from our brave weather Monkeys keeping Natalee's memory alive in Boston and helping to provide Justice for Natalee.

I just got off the phone with our Boycott - Justice for Natalee Monkeys.

Sounds like we need to give them major kudos for weathering the cold and snow conditions in Boston. Temp is about 30 with windchill.

They have some great stories, pics and videos that they will be sharing really soon.

Sounds like the Boston PD was none to happy with them and they stood their ground for Natalee like the true Monkeys they are.

GREAT JOB

Hello Monkeys.  Marlee is nursing her back and my arthritic hips are starting to feel better now that we are out of the cold.  We met some people with missing family members that may be contacting Scared Monkeys.  I made a sign that said "Don't Let This Happen To You" with pictures of Beth from Peter de Vries show.  Everyone noticed and read it as they went by from the sidewalk and driving down the street.  Many people had seen Dateline last night and many more said they would never go to Aruba.  One man said his loved one was there now and I said get her back alive and he yelled yes.  I only had one negative comment.  The woman was reading the sign.  I asked if she knew about Natalee Holloway.  She said "yes".  "There is nothing wrong with Aruba.  She (NAH) went to the wrong place."  And then she walked off.  We all know the wrong place is Aruba.

Hi Guys,

Still in Boston but wanted to give you a quick update. Day went well as we handed out all the literature, pens and most of the tote bags. Marlee,Hotshot and Gabriel all showed up today and it was nice to meet them. Heard much the same as last year from people as they will never go to Aruba, disgusted what the Aruban Govt has done and prayers for natalee that she is found. Not quite the same as last year with the weather as it affected the turnout but it is quite clear the middle class Bostonians care very much for natalee and her Family and some actually thanked us for coming out and supporting them. Looks like we will make it for day two as we are realize the importance of being a voice for Natalee at this event.

When we first arrived me and Hotshot did go to the Aruba booth and low and behold Mr.Rob Smith was there. I Introduced myself and told him my name and that I was from scaredmonkeys. He knew all about us of course,it is on video as I am sure it will prolly be posted. Just a short chat and visted a nice lady that Manages one of the resorts in Aruba as we chatted with her last year. We were constantly harrased today by security and police and I was personally warned at least 6 times about the rules. We handed out quite a bunch of literature so they kept accusing us of handing it inside as well as other harrassments about the signs and so on. Didnt faze us one bit as obviously the Arubans were concerned about us,as they should be with the Amount of money they paid for the Booth and being a major sponsor. All in all I am glad I made it and like I said last year it was worth every second of my time. We made a difference, the signs were great and hopefully the weather and day is better tommorow.

To all the Boston Travel Show Monkeys:

What an inspiration you are!!  Thank you so much for making me proud to be an American.  You, along with Tim Miller and his search teams, the crew of  Persistance,  the whole Scared Monkey crew, as well as  Peter  DeVries and Patrick have shown the world how good and kind people act.   And look at what Aruba has done for the past  3 years!  And the "good" people of  Aruba  whine about how they  didn't  have anything to  do  with it.   Well,  they haven't done anything about it either, have they?   How can their government, police force and judiciary live with themselves?   Thank you for proving yet again, love will always conquer evil.  In God we trust.

Thank you all for your sacrifical efforts to educate Americans that ... one of their own did not return three years ago from a mini-vacation in Aruba ... that one of their own is being denied justice by a corrupt investigation which is riddled with conflicts of interest.

Thank you again ... I am truly humbled.

OK, I guess its time for me to write a few things here.  First of all, IT WAS COLD!!!!!!  But it was all worth while coming to see Rob standing behind the booth.  There is another gentleman here that looks Dutch, wish I knew his name.  I know, its easy just go look at his tag right?  Wrong.  Everytime we walk into the show, I have this guy on my heels, kinda like my Chihuahua.  Making sure that I dont go over to that one BIG booth in front.  I am thinking we made such a hit with them last year, that they didn't want to see us this year.  OH WELLLLLLL  Maybe I can figure out his name tomorrow, or get a pic, that way you guys can figure his name out LOL.  Port Authority is nice, but like I say, he's like my Chihuahua, the police now, is another story.  The younger, the nastier.  I have my permit "Thank God", and he's telling me that I can show signs.  Hmmmmm, well this paper that I can't find right now states I can.  He's saying under his breath, yeah, I got her now.  WRONG......Hotshot says, "Look, I can have signs, but do not affix to anything permanent".  I showed him.  Our neighbors, people who lost their son in Mexico got kicked out, and some other people who were trying to sell vacations also did.  Last ones standing I guess.

Well ******* and I decided to go introduce ourselves to a few, and they also visited us.  Yes the same nasty lady from last year was here this year too, same nasty look.  For the most part they were nice.

We learned of more people missing their loved ones, they will be coming to scaredmonkeys.net soon, I hope.  Look up Nolan Webster   www.mexicovacationawareness.com  This is his parents site, go welcome them over here.

Over all, I think we did good.  Lots of people asking why Joran was not arrested after seeing the tape on TV.  We try to explain to them, but it doesnt go over well, seeing as the laws are so messed up "being nice".  How do you explain a country that just lets you smoke Pot, and prostitute all one night?  Don't get me going.

In closing I will say, it would be nice to meet more Monkeys at these events, especially when its cold like this.  It gives people time to thaw, poor ******* didnt go in once after he intially arrived to meet Rob.  I was a different story, here there and everywhere.  Phone, bathroom, food, natalee, pictures, I was all over the place.

I also want to say Thanks so much to all of you who have given us the courage to be here.  We need your support.  "HUGS".  Keep those incouraging words flowing, we still have a full day to go.

More pics, and maybe videos coming tomorrow.

I am so proud of ya'll, *******.  Thanks.

It is pretty amazing that all of you care enough to be there. Natalee's voice is being heard thru the actions and words of you all. My hat is off to you and I truly appreciate you. You are literally " Standing with the girl."

Thank you guys!! Muhaha!!!!!!!!! They can harrass and harrass but they will never ever be able to tale away our hearts and minds and being a voice for Natalee. The TV camera did come and filmed me and the signs but no interview or anything right when I arrived. It was obvious Mr.Rob Smith did everything he could to get security, port authority and the police to hassle us. Funny thing was they were on our side and completely understood. I think he thought they would kick us out and he watched like a hawk as security approached. LOL! Not my fault if the people of boston walk into the trade show with the flyers. Can't blame me when I never entered the building after arrival   ::MonkeyTongue::

Also the mean dispicable blonde sue from last year did not care discuss Mr.Paul Van Der Sloot with me when she approached to get a flyer when I was talking to a bostonian. Can't blame her as she woulda got her ass handed to her in public  ::MonkeyCool:: She was the same lady last year who said Natalee who? And bush is to blame and more corrupt..lol

Hotshot,  as for the chiuhaha following you around, can you send another monkey in, on the sly to get a name or pic?  You seriously aren't 'allowed' to get close to the Aruba table?  What are they going to do?  It's open to the public?

Good going to all the SM's that are in Boston
If I were not disabeled I would surly be there also but the cold just kicks my butt even here in Ohio .
All my good thoughts and prayers are there with you though  good work !  Luv all you that can sacrifice to be there .
  Jerry from Ohio

Also,  it's sad the other group had to leave, but I will be visiting the site Hotshot posted to give support and let them know they can find good friends and support at SM too!    I AM very proud of you all for sticking it out.

Hotshot,  as for the chiuhaha following you around, can you send another monkey in, on the sly to get a name or pic?  You seriously aren't 'allowed' to get close to the Aruba table?  What are they going to do?  It's open to the public?

Marlee,,,  see email when you get a free minute ;)

Hahahaha, I'll send my Jr Monkey in to get the name.  Good idea.  No they are doing all they can to keep us away from the booth.  Maybe Mr. Port Authority wont be there tomorrow.  LOL, he even came over to me and says, "You look cold"  as bugger running down my chin...kidding, can i buy you a coffee to warm up?  I said "sure".....  That lasted a whole 10 minutes.

LOLOL, I know they did.  Because they were griping about us going in and handing things out.  WE WERE NOT doing that, just as we DID NOT last year.  So there must have been alot of people bringing them in, and what can they do?  Kick them out?  NOPE, they have to deal with it.

Hi Monkeys!!!

First of all I want to thank koookatt for donating the sweatshirts and tote bags. The sweatshirts kept us very warm and the totes were a hit.

The support for Natalee and her family is amazing. More than once I handed the information to someone and they would glance at it and hand it back saying "I don't need to read this, I already know I am not going to Aruba." There were the occasional idiots but not too many. We chalked it up to ignorance.

Men and women both came up and thanked us for being out there raising awareness. There were some that knew a little bit about what has been going on and then there were those who knew as much about it as most here.

Many people said that they watched Dateline on Friday. IMO it could not have come at a better time, right before the travel show.

Thanks for all the support from the monkeys, it means a lot.

Well all I can say is what a week-end.  ::MonkeyConfused:: Today was a bit warmer, but I arrived late once again, however I did make it.  A reminder to all who think taking people with them to an event like this, DONT!  ::MonkeyNoNo:: I didn’t do the driving myself so I had to wait to be dropped off, and if the driver is not ready, too bad right?  Well, between that, and getting lost in Boston I was loosing it.  Then the straw that breaks the camels back was at 3-4 am this morning.  It was what I thought was my smoke alarm going off.  So I open the rooms door, and low and behold the hallway was lit up with all those "follow me lights".  But hey wait, wasn’t my elavator right here before?  LOL, I guess this was a real alarm because all the fire doors closed, and left us to try and find the stair case.  Top floor, P.J.s on, barefoot, I yell lets get out and grab my cigarettes.  Firefighters arrived after we were outside for about 10 minutes.  Was an interesting night to say the least.  I had just gotten to sleep from doing my scaredmonkeys thing too.  So I needed at least 4-5 hours of sleep, and was late arriving.  Daughter came down sick too.

All in all I though it was a progressive week-end.  ******* talked to Rob Smith yet again today, and he led us to believe that Aruba will solve this crime.  When asked why he says that, he says pretty much leave it at that, he knows.  ******* got chased around again today by port authority,  ::MonkeyLaugh:: evidently someone in the Aruba Booth was pulling port authorities leg about us going in with pamphlets, over and over again, and they finally believed *******.  they will be coming to check out SM later on tonight.  Hi Boston Port Authority!   ::MonkeyDance::

We had some very nice people, some of which I am posting videos on, and some that were SO CRANKY that it wasn’t funny.  cant help but laugh at them.  Most of you know why I find the need to go to Aruba one last time, and I went looking for a deal, I am guessing some people didn’t agree with that, but I started something that needs to be finished, and that’s what it will take for me to finish.  Sorry if I offended anyone in my team with that, but I guess you have to know my whole story before you judge me.

I am going to post the few other pictures I took, including the guy who I was wondering about who he was last night, and 3 videos.  I am then going to go and take a long hot shower and pass out.  Thanks ******* for the great time, and get some rest.  To CJ, and Marlee, drive careful on the long ride home.  I am saying good-bye now, as you just disappeared before I could.

Videos coming, and a few pictures

Hotshot, all of you Boston Monkeys are the absolute greatest!!! I am blown away by how much all of you were able to accomplish this weekend in the name of justice for our girl Natalee. Thank you all!

THANK YOU MARLEE AND ALL YOU WONDERFUL BOSTON MONKEYS AND JODI FOR ALL HER HELP!!!

This gentleman was kind enough to speak to us.  He is South African and is associated with Brickle Bay and a member of AHATA.  He understood us taking a stand for Natalee but he had his own side to defend as he should.  He said they are working for resolution too.

Update Day 2 at the Boston Travel Show:

Today was a definite Home Run! These Big Travel Shows are extremely important and I know for sure we made a big impact today. We are very much underestimated at these events and it's amazing what a few people can accomplish both here in the Blog and at these Travel events.

It was still chilly but the sun was out and a very large attendance at this show. The support was excellent as many people saw the Dateline show on friday and the general public is really starting see the the truth and the hell they have put this Family through. "The father hid the body" " I will never ever go to Aruba" " Disgusting" Lots of opinions and some were right on the money!! Some had deicent knowlege..Most of the outrage came from Women over 30 with kids that are middle class.  Even had two sets of people that knew we were from Scaredmonkeys. Some were Amazed Joran was still free and even more amazed to learn the series of events I told them about in June 2005. Ton's of literature was handed out and Natalee's voice was loud and clear even if we did not speak to the people walking by. A few thought Natalee was partying and was partly to blame for being careless and after some educating of the facts they clearly are looking at it different. Many asked if we were related to the Family and thanked us for being out there for Natalee and her Family and that made my day. Of course I had a couple of ignorant idiots that did not want to discuss the case after talking out of there ass. These Travel Shows clearly attract some cheap old ignorant people who I would suspect would be one of the few booking tickets to Aruba today. Even though it was jammed packed inside I never saw much activity at the Aruba booth with the exception of when the Dancers were on stage or the free trip or whatever was given.

We spoke to at least 5 Arubans today. The first Lady I remember From last year and after saying nice to see you and exchanging small talk..I told her loud and clear that I like the Aruban people and why I was here and clearly stated how corrupt her Govt was and that they needed to go. She agreed and said they were terrible and could not wait for that day. She would not offer any opinions and does not talk about the case to Family or Friends  ::MonkeyRoll:: Others tried to BS me that this happens everywhere and that it is hurting the Aruban people. I told her to stand up for once as the only time we saw them voice there opinion was when they protested VS Beth and the American Media. She is in Brazil partying..Understand our Dutch laws or go home beth..I reminded her. But also reminded her that we know who was behind that protest. I was very clear with them all that I think the Arubans are good people but the corrupt Govt covering up is the one to blame and the one being boycotted. They had no answers for anything that I brought up about events of this case. Another was from South Africa and told us it is the Dutch who are in charge and not the Arubans. He said it was very sad but he quickly learned that we knew much about this case and didn't really say a whole lot. He declined to comment about his opinion on camera and also had no answers or opinions to any of my questions. He doesn't know Mark Purcell or any other South Africans in AHATA  ::MonkeyHaHa::

Had a 10 minute Conversation with Rob Smith today and he was cordial and friendly. Told us at least twice he admired us for what we are doing. Then went on to tell us that watching this case from 3,000 miles away you don't know what is really going on as they haven't released the dossier. He was just in a restraunt and overheard someone talking about Natalee and it was clear they were speculating from watching TV shows. Said the FBI was overseeing the case back in June and I had to stop him right there. He said there were 7 of them with dogs in his hotel. I clearly told them they were not allowed to do anything and were not involved in much. They didn't understand Dutch and were not allowed to do anything. I asked him why they sent him to Boston being the Big Guy at AHATA and he said because he was new. We discussed his background a bit and also Jorge Pesquera. I said so he received the big bucks in Palm Beach eh? He smiled and shook his head.

He added again it was easy to speculate without knowing everything that was going on. I informed him that many of us have been following the case since the beginning and are well aware of most everything and have researched, translated and have followed everything closely. Not your typical person he meets at a restraunt. He asked if I know Natalee's Family but later hinted that I have some contact. I don't know them is a tough question for me. He said he knows Dave and Beth well. I wanted to address one event with him but I could tell he didn't want to get into it and the topic kept changing. Finally I informed him we are well aware of the corruption for example the search of the VDS home. Dompig,Janssen and Bob Witt all people fingers at each other and are caught red handed in a lie. The VDS home was not even searched for two years!  Since when do murder and kidnapping suspects get immunity from having there house searched? He had no answers at all. He told us that he is confident it would be solved soon but had no answers when I asked him why he thought that. He asked that we would say good things about Aruba and help repair some of the damage if it was solved. I think we all agreed we would. He clearly is being fed what the Aruban Govt wants him to say and he is way over his head. There was probably more but I am tired right now :)

Last but not least was the constant harrassment from Security and the Police. Yesterday I watched the Event Management company talk 15 minutes to the Cops after grilling Kathy. Then came back and went after me..Would not let me speak a word and called me a jerk after disagreeing about the permit. Said he would just yank it right now if I didnt keep my mouth shut. So I didnt say a word.

The security inside were good people but someone clearly was on there ass big time. I was pulled away from people at least 6 times and constantly threatened and harrassed another 6 times. I found out today that someone from the Aruban Booth was lying to him about me walking in with literature, showing my Natalee T-shirt and other lies. He then told me he had had his suspicions on Saturday but now knows he was lying. I asked which man it was but he declined to tell me as he didnt want to start a fire as he put it.

There is much more but I am exhausted. Thank You to everyone who supported us and contributed as it was Job well done by everyone. Also thank you to red for giving us a home and making this all possible.

A big thank you to those of you who sacrificed your well deserved weekend and braved the elements to be a voice demanding justice for Natalee. I'm glad the sweatshirts helped to keep you warm but I have a feeling it was the monkey love and support surrounding you all that really kept the cold out. Safe travels home to you all and God Bless you!

Monkeys are the best of the best.  They are selfless in their support of each other, Natalee, Natalee's family, and all who support the family.  I am thinking of the heroes of the Persistence and Tim Miller and many others that would take me many pages to thank.  God bless you all!

A lot has to happen between now and then. Clearly there precious tourism is all they care about and lying about most everything that has to do with Natalee. I would love to debate this with Rob Smith or anyone else from the Aruban Govt or Ahata. I double dare them to come on SM.

Well I challenged them on every lie trust me!!!!!!! They had no answers nor did they talk any further and the subject was changed. Always quick discussions and Rob was cold outside with no jacket. The two times I went in the building I was harrassed like never before! Marlee even came in and got me today as they said they were going to have the state police remove me!!!!!!! God I hate liars!!!!!!

The Boston Monkeys did a graet job this weekend. The New York protest at the Javit's Center ought to be a beaut. I'm just wondering whether the Aruba Tourism group uses the same personnel for each neighboring show.  Wouldn't it be special for the Boston character to be present in New York?

If he show's up, perhaps we can arrange a welcoming "Bronx Cheer" for the dude. ::MonkeyDance::

CJ and Marlee you are my hero.

You traveled some 12 hrs. for the protest. Neither of you are well. You made the best posters I have ever seen.

You stood out in the cold and with those posters and I am confident you made an impact on anyone thinking about traveling to Aruba.

That is what a protest is all about imo.

I am proud of you.

From the bottom of my heart I thank you.

******* thank you too, I know you are dedicated to the cause and I appreciate it.

Thanks! No question we put a big damper on there plans by protesting at this event,I saw it in there faces and I saw it by there actions. Truth is they are killing themselves and the American public is now becoming fully aware of what that Aruban Govt really is all about and the hell they have put this Family through. Like I told the people in Boston they think of us like cattle.

Please do everything you can to make the event in NYC as it is extremely important and the timing could not be any better. Its one day out of your life and I promise you it will be something you will never ever forget and worth every second and every dollar spent. NYC is number one in sending tourists to Aruba and it is crucial we get more people for this event. I don't want to get into the sacrafices we made for this trip in Boston but if we can do it you can do it.

I did not take very many pictures on day 2 because Marlee already told me that state police were going to remove me because of the lies coming from one of the ATA members. I think I spent a total of 15 minutes inside and most of it was visiting the other countries. It was two days of constant harrassment by Security,Port Authority and the Police but none of it fazed us as the Monkeys that attended this event absolutely did everything we wanted to do and more.

During the busiest time of the event it was jam packed everywhere except at the Aruba booth who by far had the biggest booth maybe even 10 times bigger than most everyone else. They were the Major sponsor and the Aruba name was everywhere you looked and they had a crew of at least a dozen. The Aruba area was in front and center as soon as you walk in.

It was the busiest I have ever seen this show by far but as you can see the Aruban delegates were talking to themselves.

(http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/7172/arub2ha3.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)

The ATA member in blue approached outside to get all our pictures. After we told him no he took pictures anyway of the signs and other protesters. He is seen in the Aruba booth and has a I love Aruba pin but claims he is from Curacao and knows nothing about the Natalee Holloway case or Aruba..LOL!

Saying goodbye to Boston!
(http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/613/arub4mt8.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)
The message was loud and clear in Boston! The spirit of the Bostonians is to never
give up on a fellow American and her Family. We are all still waiting for Aruban Govt to stop lying and to finally give Natalee and her Family Justice!
