I was not going to watch this video but once I started I had to see it. I really got a sense that George is just trying to keep hope alive. I do not fault him for that. If I were in his shoes I would probably do the same thing. What really struck me is his sorrow and fear. You can see it in his eyes.

I am wondering if the Anthony's have been given legal advice to stick to the Caylee-is-alive story....
I think GA showed some courage yesterday but I do understand their need to protect their daughter - I would not want to be in their shoes - STILL, my god they are not completely stupid, they must know that little Caylee is deceased.   

So could they are sticking to this crazy story because they have been advised it's the only way to keep "reasonable doubt" in the picture?

 Casey Anthony appears before judge, no bond ordered
9:01 a.m. Casey Anthony appeared before an Orange County judge this morning for a first-appearance that lasted less than one minute.

Anthony stood beside her defense attorney Jose Baez.

Judge John Jordan read the charges: First degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child and four counts of providing false information to law enforcement.

"There's no bond on these charges," Jordan said.

The judge asked Baez if he would be filing a notice of appearance. Baez responded that he would.

Casey Anthony is 19 on list to appear before judge
8:40 a.m. Jail spokesman Allen Moore said Anthony is No. 19 on the list of inmates to appear before the judge. However, it is up to the judge's discretion to advance her on the list.

Near the end of the last thread, we were discussing Casey's story that the defense will present at trial.  I think JB has tried to take a page from the OJ trial book. 

He's going after the DA, trying to say that it's politically motivated.  He's going after LE, trying to say they are incompetent and have focused on framing Casey to the exclusion of finding Caylee or other criminals responsible for this crime.  He's saying the evidence doesn't say what LE says it does.  I'm waiting for him to claim that the evidence found in the trunk was planted by LE.

I think JB has convinced George and Cindy that they need to plant the seed of reasonable doubt.  That's why Cindy continues to spout her belief that Caylee is alive.  If she TRULY believed that someone else had Caylee, how does she KNOW that person wouldn't have killed Caylee and disposed of the body?  The world believes Casey did it.  If someone else had Caylee, that would be the perfect opportunity to get away with the crime.  Cindy KNOWS Caylee is dead and that Casey is responsible.  That's the only reason why she continues to protest that Caylee is alive.  Well, that and she's completely whacked out of her mind on drugs.

I saw on one of the news stations website yesterday the documents for it, cant remember which one so im assuming the case is still on.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The mother of Casey Anthony was videotaped scolding a TV news van and erratically cutting across traffic before her daughter, Casey, was secretly transferred to a vehicle and later arrested during a wild post-indictment ride in Orlando streets.


A grand jury issued a sealed indictment charging Casey Anthony with first-degree murder in the death of daughter Caylee, even though the child's body has not been found during a four-month search.

The grand jury also charged Anthony, 22, with aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter and four counts of lying to investigators about Caylee's disappearance.

After the indictment was delivered, Casey Anthony and her mother left attorney Jose Baez's office in Kissimmee and began to drive around Orlando at about 3:30 p.m.

Cindy Anthony was videotaped cutting across two lanes of traffic in an apparent attempt to lose several television crews following behind.

Anthony then cut across a shopping center and drove through parking lots.

Sky 6 showed Cindy Anthony eventually jumping out of the vehicle on a road and waving her finger at the driver of a television van while walking down the road.

Anthony jumped back in her SUV and drove into a no-fly zone near the Orlando International Airport and Casey Anthony switched vehicles.

"They pulled a switcharoo," a photographer yelled as the cars stopped underneath an overpass and out of view of helicopters.

A car traveling behind another sport utility vehicle then cut off a Local 6 vehicle.

Local 6 asked Baez about the incident.

"As he attempted to try to get away from them, he didn't know if someone was trying to harm Casey or what," Baez said. "At that point, finally, it turned about to be law enforcement and they in turned pulled him over and (the driver) identified himself as the bondsman."

Anthony was taken into custody by police during the stop.

Baez also said he didn't want a media circus or anyone filming Anthony being handcuffed, Local 6 reported.

I found it interesting that Mark NeJame mentioned yesterday on NG that he had not spoken to Cindy at all yesterday, and that when she did the Today show appearance this morning, that he was not there.  I am wondering if there is any chance that there has been some determination that NeJame will be dealing with George only? 

I can't imagine that he would have approved of Cindy going on the Today Show in that condition... JMO.

She is keeping with the "script" ZG gave her. Which I believe is a pile of you know what.

Even though George and Cindy are doing interviews stating they believe little Caylee is alive,I take great comfort in knowing that Casey is now locked up as she should be.I believe whole heartedly that she will be convicted and put away for life...I slept better last night then I have in weeks just knowing that Casey is where she belongs.... ::MonkeyCool::

I just read this on Fox News: Casey Anthony, her attorney and her mother Cindy Anthony were all at the closed-door grand jury session. I always thought that the defense was not allowed at a Grand Jury. Am I wrong in thinking that?

I missed the live arraignment earlier, but caught a couple of others in the court room. Other inmates of the jail were in jailhouse orange for their hearings. Why is Casey not?? Why does she have so many privileges?  What's up with the 'black' clothing the past couple of days. Is she now in mourning? :roll:

I think that this may have been misquoted.  They were at Casey's attorney's office all day.  There is video of them coming, having a press conference around 2 pm and leaving later in the day.

I think that is a definite possibility. I do however think it is coming from JB and not from the Anthony's attny..From the way he talked yesterday about GA's testimony, I got the impression that their attny wanted them to be truthful and honest and fully comply with LE about this whole thing. Also, didn't Tim or someone say on an interview that the Anthonys had a good attny,if they would just listen to him? or something to that effect?

I agree with you also.....no matter what the circumstances are there is still a little girl who we all know will never come home and I do believe the Anthony's loved her very much....you can seen in the pictures and videos.....and for me as a parent myself I cant imagine the guilt I would be feeling thinking that there was something I could have done to keep this from happening..

What I found interesting yesterday is that the forensics and LE had KC's timeline down pat. They said she was killed between 7/15 time? and 7/16 time?, I don't recall exactly, but I found that remarkable that they could say that. I'm not saying it makes any sense.. but in a backwards sort of way, it would for the Anthony's.. they'd do ANYTHING to prove this child is alive.  Perhaps even plant items to be found..  not them personally, but we've been told they have friends who have been searching.

Does anyone think that now that Casey is in custody on murder charge, that LE will quit releasing evidence to the public ?

Why did Lee refuse dna test and poly ?
What did Annie tell LE ?
What did Casey buy at JCP that is (apparently) so incriminating ?
What is the "new evidence" still under test at the body farm ?

I agree, Chocolate. My MIL even asked to go meet my son's new preschool teacher and see the school. She is interested in who he's going to be interacting with. She didn't demand it, mind you. But she asked if I minded if she tagged along, and I didn't mind at all. I think it's normal for a grandmother to care about her grandchild's wellbeing. But maybe we're just all crazy, and the Anthony's are the only normal family on the planet? LOL!

Even photos,  I have pics of my son's babysitter that are accidental ie- him in his Halloween costume and she is in the background.  If he went missing, I know I could find a pic of the babysitter...

Just a thought - but since shes innocent until proven guilty -she doesent get to wear the guilty red or orange color until proven guilty.

I do not have grand children yet but you can bet when I do I will be investigating the babysitter myself and will have all the information i need to be sure my grand child is safe.

I was on a jury for a first degree murder charge a couple of years ago....and, the events of each day leading up and, including the day of the murder is included in the trail...this guy stabbed his so-called friend 87 times and we the jury members had to look at all pictures, evidence that the pres. had and, it was amazing as to how they could set up the days as they happened...trust me LE has a lot more on Casey .... more than you realize.... and, more than she realizes....she herself will be shocked at trail...I know the defendant in the trail that I was sitting in the jury box..he was shocked himself...you could watch his reactions/emotions as they evidence was presented to us

Baez's people are admitting on national news that Caylee is dead.

she now knows that her life as she knew it is over....and, she thought this would bring her life to the life that she wanted....but, it didn't turn out quite the way she expected it too...

I really do not believe there was anything devious about the changing vehicle issue.  I suspect that it was just a plan to distract the media who were waiting at the jail ... the media who were anticipating Baez arriving at the jail with Casey.

Casey Anthony's attorney said his client would turn herself in. But after a murder indictment was filed against her Tuesday, deputies followed Anthony and arrested her on an Orange County highway before she could surrender.

After several hours at defense attorney Jos� Baez's office in Kissimmee, Anthony left with her mother so the two could spend time together, said Baez spokesman Todd Black.

Sheriff's officials said deputies knew where Anthony was at all times, and even knew that she changed vehicles under a highway overpass.

Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony, reportedly pulled her vehicle over at Narcoossee Road and State Road 417, where Casey got into a sport utility vehicle.

That vehicle was driven by an unidentified bail bondsman. Black said the bondsman was taking Anthony to jail.

Larry Garrison, a spokesman for the Anthony family, said in an e-mail that Cindy Anthony was taking her daughter to meet Baez "for him to turn her in as agreed."

But before Anthony and the bondsman could arrive at the jail, deputies stopped the SUV on the BeachLine Expressway and took Anthony into custody.

I don't think there was anything devious either Janet....Cindy was informed earlier of the planned car-switch to bring Casey into custody, which is why she was trying to lose the FOX reporters following her. I think it was planned for security concerns. Unfortunately it didn't go as smoothly as they had hoped. ::MonkeyConfused::

The only time I catch up on reading (and I read everything) is on Wednesday's mid day. I come in from work on Tuesday night, start reading around 6:30 pm, read til midnight. I get up on Wednesday and start reading again anywhere from 5 am to 7 am. By mid morning I'm caught up. I make one or two posts, then it is time for me to go back to work!!!

The great thing about reading here is that when I see an older post that I'd like to respond to, and I realize that the discussion has moved on, I generally find that someone else says the same thing ( a few posts later) that I wanted to say. Not much gets past our Monkeys. I don't worry about the hecklers, I don't worry about the folks whose tailfeathers get a little ruffled, I don't worry that no one responds to my posts at times. I just read, absorb, reflect, pray, and post my one or two posts once in a great while. I think there must be many more Monkeys (and Guests) who do the same.

Thanks to all Monkeys for all points of view, for all updates/documents/vidoes, and most of all, for all the concern/compassion for missing persons. Reading here connects me to those in this world who value life, who value justice, and who won't let those who can no longer speak be forgotten.

After witnessing Cindy's erratic driving behavior while trying to lose the reporters following her (circles in a parking lot, getting out banging on the window of reporter and yelling at her) instead of following the bondsman to jail, they made the call to take custody of Casey to avoid any potential problems.....Cindy had stopped traffic at least once....she could have caused any number or accidents. I think LE did the appropriate thing....JMO

I would think if they have a possible timeframe they would not present it until court because that would have a chance of hurting their case since tests are still being done and the timeframe might change.

Even though her daughter Casey has been indicted on charges of abusing and murdering her own 3-year-old daughter, Caylee, Cindy Anthony continues to insist that the little girl is alive.

“I know Caylee is alive,” Cindy Anthony told TODAY’s Meredith Vieira Wednesday from Orlando, Fla. “I know my daughter. There is nothing in this world that could make me believe that Casey did anything to Caylee. There has never been any child neglect, child abuse or anything. This young lady loves her child, more than I love Casey.”

Cindy Anthony applauded a court ruling that will turn over to her family the names of people who have called authorities to report suspected sightings of Caylee Anthony since her disappearance.

Truth will be told’

“There’s a lot of people out there that have seen Caylee,” Cindy Anthony said. “We’re going to reach out to those people once we get their names and we’re going to go ahead and start tracking them down ourselves … I know in my heart that we are going to find Caylee before this trial takes place.”

Florida State Attorney Lawson Lamar thinks differently. On Tuesday, his office obtained a grand jury indictment against Casey Anthony on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter and four counts of lying to investigators about Caylee’s disappearance in June. Casey Anthony, who is also facing charges for passing bad checks that she used to buy such items as beer and lingerie, said nothing to reporters as she was taken to jail.

Earlier Tuesday, tears ran down her cheeks as she stood by the side of her attorney, Jose Baez, during a press conference. “Casey Anthony is Public Enemy No. 1,” the attorney told reporters. “This family has had to withstand something like nobody has ever seen. We just ask people to respect that and understand what Casey Anthony is going through.”

Neither Cindy Anthony nor Baez has denied that the 22-year-old single mother has lied to investigators during the three months that the case against her has been building. They continue to insist that the public will understand during the trial why Casey Anthony kept Caylee’s disappearance a secret and why she has behaved as she has in the months since.

“The truth will be told in the end,” Cindy Anthony said. “It will be heard in a courtroom. People will understand why her behaviors are such.”

The smell of death
Casey Anthony kept her daughter’s disappearance a secret from even her parents for a month. When she admitted in July that Caylee was missing, she said that the child had been abducted by a baby sitter. But the address where she said the sitter lived proved to be an empty apartment, and the woman named as the baby sitter had never met the Anthonys. Casey Anthony also lied about her employment status.

It was Cindy Anthony who alerted authorities to her granddaughter’s disappearance after smelling a strong odor of death in her daughter’s car, which had been left in a parking lot because, Casey Anthony said, it had run out of gas. The Anthonys later said the odor came from remains of a pizza, then that it came from one or more squirrels that had died in the car’s framework.

However, investigators say that cadaver-sniffing dogs identified the odor as coming from human remains. Published reports have said that traces of chloroform, human hair and the residue of a decaying body have also been found in the car.

“This investigation involves intricate forensics that are on the cutting edge of science,” Lamar, the state attorney, told reporters Tuesday.

Baez has charged that Lamar pushed for the murder indictment because he is running for reelection in November and wanted to impress voters.

‘They haven’t been looking’
While the grand jury was deliberating Tuesday, Cindy Anthony spent the time with her daughter in Baez’s office.

“I just wanted to be around her as much as I could,” the mother said. “We’ve known that they’ve been building a case against Casey from day one, and they have not been looking for my granddaughter. Her attorney has been preparing for this since day one.”

Cindy Anthony said it was very difficult for her daughter waiting for the indictment to come down. “Not only is she facing the charges, I told her the night before: ‘You know, they haven’t been looking for Caylee.’ She’s lost her daughter. Someone has her daughter,” Cindy Anthony told Vieira.

“My love for Casey is stronger every day,” Cindy Anthony said. “My love for my granddaughter is stronger every day.”

Meanwhile, investigators are continuing their search for Caylee Anthony — but they are looking for a body, not a live little girl.

“We have not achieved our primary objective in this investigation,” Orange County Sheriff Kevin Barry told reporters Tuesday. “We have not recovered little Caylee Anthony.”

for those thinking Casey will be representing herself - IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. She must have competent counsel. And Baez does not meet the criteria.

Seeing as there are few capital murder one charges filed each year - there are few attorneys with that type of exposure and experience.

A capital case is very expense and the State makes sure the defendant is properly represented to make sure there is not a mistrial or other issues brought up later. They want it "clean" the first time and all capital convictions have an automatic appeal.

In Casey's case, I believe it will be hard to get a death sentence. A good attorney will plead with the jury to spare the life of Casey and will probably win that avenue. That's not to say I don't think she doesn't fit the criteria because I feel she does.

She is not rehabilitatable. She has no remorse, and will never be a product member of society. Her past actions do not meet the standards in my eyes.

The death penalty is hard to achieve when the defendant is pretty and a woman. It's just a fact. No one wants to put a young person to death and heart strings get pulled. The penalty is there CURRENTLY TO GET HER TO MAKE A DECISION AND HELP HER OWN CAUSE. If Casey cooperates and reveals the location of Caylee, tells what truly happened and how it all happened the State's Attorney will remove the Death Penalty. It IS A BARGAINING CHIP RIGHT NOW.

The State's Attorney also realizes that a DP conviction will be very difficult to achieve, but that's not the point of filing the capital charges right now.

I don't know if she has a new attorney yet, but whoever it will eventually be, that person will be much more competent than Baez.

Last night we were under the impression that another person was soon to be arrested.Do we know anymore about this?

Very seldom has my daughter and son-in-law ever had anyone care for their four children (5-10) other than my hubby and I or ... their other loving grandparents or ... immediate family on both sides.  However ... some Moms and/or Dads do not have family support and ... are put in a position of entrusting other with the care of their children.

Cindy and George both were employed and ... throughout this ordeal there does not appear to be extended family support.  IF Casey was employed ... Caylee most likely would have been cared for by somebody outside of the family.  However ... CASEY WAS NOT EMPLOYED!

If Cindy and George were not available to care for Caylee and ... Casey was not employed ... a nanny should have been a non-issue.

I think death is possible but not probable.There was a woman in Texas that put to death a few years ago for murder.She was pretty too and had even become a born again believer over the years while in prison.I remember watching an interview with her and she was at perfect peace knowing that the day was soon to be upon her.I really don't think being pretty has much to do with it..Just my opinion of course..When it's all said and done and we find out,if ever we do,just how henious the crime against Caylee was,we'll see...

I agree Rob, about the DP being a 'bargaining chip" I think they were hoping she would at least tell them where the body was when they brought her in as soon as the indictment came down yesterday.  There's still time for this to sink in to her. A good attorney would advise her to jump on the opportunity. But I think Ms Anthony thinks she's invincible!

After watching the press conf. from yesterday (a gazillion times) I noticed that Casey only started to cry when JB says that "she's someones daughter".  Then the garbage spewd from Cindy this morning about how she "loves Casey more each day" makes it so clear   IMO that finally Casey has achieved her greatest wish. Now she is the sole focus of mom and her biggest scam was believed, all the lies that were caught before , this time, though, she has been able to (because caylee has'y been found YET )  mom is her best friend, staunchest suppoter.

A real attorney is going to try and expedite this case and get the Death Penalty off the table as fast as possible. He will attempt toi make some type of deal for Casey's guilty plea. That will save the state millions and conclude a terrible saga.

I saw an old primetime story not long ago on WE and it was about a kid who shot his friend and killed him over a girl.  The parents did not make excuses for their son.  They turned him in and made him face the music.  They still loved him and supported him but knew he had to be punished for his crime.  If the Anthonys had done the same thing they would not be getting death threats and could have possible had a better life in the future.  Now all they will be thought of is the liars who protected their murderer daughter.

I was listening to the Fox media coverage all the way home last night on my Sirius and they had a former state prosecutor on from the state of FL.  She was stating all the ins and outs of what these charges mean, and then she touched base on the Death Penalty.  She said that the prosecution has 45 days to weigh the factors in this and then present.  She says that one thing in particular in Casey's favor that will be taken into consideration is her age.  This woman did not think that Casey would be able to slide by with any sort of insanity pleas.  She did make note that a good defense attorney would be trying to have the DP removed from the table and use any means nessessary, she also noted that this has never been done in this case thus far. 
She basically stated the same sorts of things that Rob is stating here. I thought it was intersting though none-the-less.

i could care less if Baez writes three books and a movie-he won't be gettin any of my hard earned money. As far as that goes-the Anthony's won't either. George and Cindy's lies and they way they treat good people-make me sick.

I know Bush was raked over the coals because he wouldnt give her life in prison.  Everyone was in an uproar because Karla Fay found god and had changed.  Where was god when she murdered those 2 people with an ax?  I know people are harsh on us Texans because of the death penalty here and how we actually enforce it.  If you live in Texas and do the crime worthy of the death penalty then dont do the crime.  Do it in a state that doesnt have the death penalty.

My guess would be that they didn't ask him very much at all. They probably swore him in, presented him with a copy of statements that had been made previously regarding his encounter with Casey about the car trunk, and that was it.

Cindy has commented on several recent interviews how happy she is that they will finally be getting access to all of the tips called in and what a victory that is.  Perhaps I misunderstood the judge but I thought he ruled that they would have access to completed tips, but if they are still under investigation the info stays with the prosecutors.   I don't see that as that much of a victory.  Can someone, anyone, explain it to me? ::MonkeyEek::

I assume you are talking of Karla Faye Tucker. I remember the case and she had killed 2 people in 1983 while on drugs and alcohol. She originally went to the apt to scare them. It was 1998 or so before they executed her and it made TX history. This woman for years definitely had changed her life, had remorse and did show an inner peace that was really something. There was also a certain governor of the state at the time who wanted to make news with the execution since he was going to run for a higher office.

I don't think if convicted Casey would get DP and really...life is the best sentence if she lasts in there and doesn't get all that special treatment. I don't think she is pretty...she has been looking pretty ugly as this case goes on.

I am thinking that too.  Most of the stuff we saw played out in front of the media was all ploy to gain sympathy.  Everyone needs to remember that most of the people with exception to those that are on the blogs do not know much in this case.  They already know that Orlando and the surrounding area has read or heard things, but most people do not pay close attention to details.  George did nothing that hurt Casey in that GJ...he told the story of the gas cans...he saw nothing.  Remember they did not ask him in his previous statement about seeing a body, I don't think, so if he didn't say anything then...he has no reason to now. He could simply say I did not see into the trunk.  No previous evidence to the contrary and it's his word only.

katntx I'm a proponent of the death penalty. There has to be a punishment for the worst of the worst.

The main problem is that the social engineers have argued that it is not a deterrent. And that's the big problem... it's not a deterrent - it's the punishment. If it deters one person - that's terrific, but not the intention.

Yes, grand jury testimony is very low-key, cut and dried. There's no histrionics, no posturing, no cross-examination, no "objection your honor." The witness is seated, asked questions, recorded by the court reporter, and then dismissed. Most of the time our grand jury witnesses were actually the investigators who were there to swear under oath that the statements and records were correct. That's why I think George was only there to verify the trunk incident.

"From Day One" and "Absolutely" are things I don't think I'll be able to say without remembering this case.  Right now I wouldn't care if I never heard them again!!!

What I don't get is why they haven't already arrested the second person. They have the indictment, and normally, as soon as the indictment is handed down, the person is brought in.

ITA! I read the indictments in depth last night and it does appear the DA has left the door open for an accomplice. If I had to make an educated guess it would be Lee who is still MIA.

My hunch is on Annie - we already know that Casey told someone she gets Xanax from Annie - if LE can show that Annie knew that Casey used it on Caylee, she's in deep poo.

I do not think an indictment can be handed down unless the POI is named.

Fox News said there was supposed to be more news on Fox Orlando within the next couple of hours regarding this case.

I'm not Lisa but what you are saying about Annie not being the person makes perfect sense to me...Lee however?Absolutly!!!

My interpretation is that he is speaking of the "case", which indeed does involve the "loss of life of this little girl".

Last I heard in a couple weeks so that would be by the 24th or so of October. 

Well, I suppose it's fair. All the grand jury is doing is deciding if there is enough evidence to bring the case to trial. Once the trial takes place, that's when the defense can have their say. I'm guessing the grand jury is in place to save the taxpayers money by weeding out those cases that don't sound plausible.

I am beginning to lean more and more toward Lee considering he will not take a polygraph, he refused to give his DNA and since he was made to give the DNA he has been outta sight. We have not seen him at all in a while and it is just too weird that he was not present yesterday considering everything that was scheduled.   Where is LEE????

I was watching Trutv at noon and they said on there that the indictments given are worded in a sense that there is the potential of a second person being involved in this case. I am trying to find a video, but so far no luck. I will keep trying to find a link to that show.

Does anyone have any links from the body farm that talks about the air testing?  I just saw a tour of the place.  Its pretty interesting.  They just opened a new body farm here in Texas about 15 minutes from where I live.  They had to move the location 3 times before it opened because people were throwing a fit.  Dont they understand the wealth of information this place has to offer.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Accused killer Casey Anthony is spending her time in a ten-by-eight-foot cell with the possibility of the death penalty hanging over head. She is in jail to stay after an Orange County judge denied her bond Wednesday morning.


Casey's now charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter Caylee, as well as aggravated child abuse, manslaughter and charges for lying to investigators. The first-appearance lasted only 40 seconds Wednesday.
 
"Yes," was the only thing Casey Anthony said during the appearance, acknowledging to the judge who she is.

Casey Anthony was all business in court. She seemed somewhat tense as the judge told her she's on no bond because of the indictment against her for first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.

Casey looked up at her attorney, Jose Baez, afterward, smiled tensely and then walked out of court. It was a stark contrast to Tuesday afternoon, when the tears were flowing outside her lawyer's office before the grand jury indicted her and even to the new look she sported after her arrest, the party girl trying to look more like a law student with slacks and a button-up shirt.

Baez would not answer questions after Casey's first appearance.

Even though Casey is now facing new and much more serious charges, her trial is still scheduled at this point for November 17. No one has asked for any delay for any reason at this point. The earliest Casey could receive any visitors at the jail is Thursday. So far, no one has asked to visit.

Not only is it human nature, it is proven fact that attractive people get preferential treatment! I've seen it with my own eyes! Casey Anthony is a very attractive young woman & she learned from an early age how to use that to her advantage. Although her actions can be stopped by imprisonment, her thinking will not, nor will it ever! She will continue to do what is best for Casey & noone else until the day she dies, no matter what that entails.
So yes, it is within the realm of possibility that Casey will receive preferential treatment, in some form or fashion, for the rest of her life. And it Sucks!!

Two reasons that I find it very difficult to comprehend how Leonard Padilla came to the determination that Lee Anthony is the father of Caylee Marie.  As far as I know NO OTHER SOURCE has made this claim.

1.  DNA from Cindy, George and Lee was only requested LAST WEEK.
2.  Forensic evident was only ordered LAST WEEK by a judge to be turned over to the defence.

There are a lot of things I still want to know about -
Confirm who is Caylee's father - Lee, or some other family member ?
Who is the other POI? (Annie or Lee ? )
Why did Lee refuse dna test and poly ? (to hide that he's the father, to hide that he helped Casey, or to hide that he committed some other unrelated crime?)
What did Annie tell LE ? (they have not yet released this tidbit)
What did Casey buy at JCP that is (apparently) so incriminating ?
What is the "new evidence" still under test at the body farm ?

   

Lee seemed like  in the beginning that he didn't  know  anything  and was  going to be the guy who get to the bottom of the "kidnapping", but as time went on maybe  she told him things and that's why he doesn't want to take polygraph and as for DNA God only knows, but unless he actually moved Caylee's body I don't know what he could be charged with.

My guess for the poi  would be the person who supplied the chloroform . If LE has somehow determined that chloroform contributed to death, Casey and that person knew that it was being used with the purpose of incapacitating Caylee...

Anyone ever see a picture of a prisoner that still looks smashing? No hair products, no foo foo conditioner, no flat irons or make up. Staying up late hoping the other prisoners won't get you (yeah I know solitary, but a monkey can dream can't she?). I hope when reality sinks in, it hits hard and shows on her face.

Do you guys think that the new competant attorney will NOT try blowing smoke up her as@ and tell her the hard facts of what she is facing? IMO JB babied her, told her everything will be OK and has led her to believe things will go her way? Personally I think life in prison would be a harsher sentence than death.  I could not imagine sitting in a prison for the rest of my life and im 45, Casey is 22.  She will treated bad because baby killers are not liked.  To bad she didnt hire a smarter lawyer who could of gotten her to confess it was an accident and maybe got her manslaughter and sentenced to say 30 years compared to death or life.

No no..He doesn't work in anything medical..He works with nuclear materials.

In regards  to the 2nd POI, don't you think if it was Lee he would have been arrested by now? Maybe they have to go out of state to get this person if indeed that's what it indicates. I'm sure they have Lee under surveillance, but then again Scott Peterson almost made it to the Mexican border before they nabbed him. But IF that person was missed, I would think that today there would have been an APB out on him.   ::MonkeyCool::

I have no knowledge in regards to DNA and Genetics but ... it has been explained to me by my niece (Bachlor of Science) that Mitochondrial DNA testing CANNOT determine paternity of the deceased.  The father's DNA is required and ... when it is considered that LE only obtain Lee Anthony's DNA (blood) this week ...

Until an official or family source provides confirmation in regards to paternity of Caylee and Lee Anthony ... I will not go there.  Rumors of this magnitude have a potential to destroy lives.

I do recall a case here that a man was taken off of death row and given life because his attorney said he was given bad council and then the attorney quickly retired.He was an old man and rumor had it that the mans mother and attorney were very close so to speak..It happens..:(

In my opinion ... the death penalty exemplifies the highest regard for human life.  It send a message that life is so precious ... if you make a choice (premeditated) to take a life ... you will be required to forfeit your own.

In other words ... the scales of justice between wrongdoing and consequences must balance.

I agree with you. Also, unlike most here, I am against the death penatly. However, not for moral reasons, but financial ones. When I worked with a newspaper, I did extensive research and an article on how the death penalty actually costs the taxpayers more than life in prison without the possibility of parole. That's right! I even quoted how a death row inmate overdosed and almost died, but they rushed him to the E.R. and saved him. Guess what? A few hours later, the same doc who saved him, put him to death at his execution. Also, another death row inmate fought and won to get a sex-change operation prior to his execution. And guess who footed the bill for all of these things? That's right--taxpayers!

The costs are astronimically more to excute. They get appeals, get years on death row (with their meals, too) lawyer fees, state pays most fees, they get many things they want (ie the sex change operation). Life w/out parole is usally without appeals (or as many) and thereby limits these fees. Please check it out for yourself. It's interesting stuff.

lol, He wouldn't know anything, he works in the nuclear field. My sweet little girl voice has never worked on him either! haha. He'd say, "Nic! Quit talking like a baby!" LOL 

The reason the cost is so high is because of the appeals.  Also the sex change operation is totally BS and the laws should be changed.  If someone is on death row and about to die why would they need a sex change operation.  Also the time people are on death row is ridiculous.  There should be a set frame to allow all appeals and then be done with it.  Im not saying do it like in the 18th century where the hangmans noose was out back of the office and you were hanged immediately.  But people being on death row for 20 years is a total waste...as Casey would say, to the tax payers.

My understanding ...

The letter of confirmation from the University of Tennessee ... confirmed through DNA that the composition found inside the trunk of Casey's vehicle belonged to Caylee Marie.  Nothing to do with paternity.

State Attorney's Office responds to political attack

3:41 p.m. Randy Means, a spokesman for the State Attorney's Office, recently issued this statement in response to allegations his office is using Casey Anthony's case for State Attorney Lawson Lamar's political benefit.

Means wrote in an email to the Orlando Sentinel that there "is an old axiom in law enforcement that goes 'When defense attorneys can't successfully attack the evidence they then attack the evidence collector. If this fails you then attack the prosecutor.....This is not the first time we have seen such a ploy as this. "All investigations, to include homicide investigations, have a chronological process and this case is no different. In late September, the Orange County Sheriff's Office, FBI and this office received a letter of confirmation from the University of Tennessee. They had concluded their examination of the forensic material sent to them by law enforcement contained relevant information to the disappearance of Caylee Anthony. "While I am not at liberty to discuss the specific nature of the material, I will tell you that this correspondence is dated very late September. This was the piece of the puzzle, as prosecutors, we were waiting for before we could appropriately convene the Grand Jury. "Normally making arrangements for the Grand Jurors will take a week or two, which leads us to today. Sufficient admissible evidence has been collected and evaluated and it is now the state's duty to seek justice. "As much as I would like to respond to these apparent smoke and mirror allegations, I am prohibited from doing so, as is the Defense, as described in the Cannons of Ethics. I believe the defense attorney's wild allegations serve no legitimate purpose other than to obfuscate the search for the truth. We will continue to prosecute this case in the courts and not in the media.

I am going to be a boring poster in the next few weeks....we need to get educated about DNA and all it's components. Since I once worked at a hospital laboratory I would at least like to point out a few things that we will need to know when they begin their examination of the DNA and the various tests performed on the samples...stop me now if no one cares because other wise you will be getting a small primer on all things genetic.  Below is such an example:

DNA paternity testing is a specific form of DNA testing, which involves examining  the genetic material a child has inherited from its parents. DNA is located everywhere inside and outside of the human body and each DNA strand (or part of the DNA) is always consistent and the same.  The DNA in the blood is the same as it is in the skin, the cheek lining, the muscle, the bone, the teeth and all other tissue.

Upon conception a child's DNA is created for the first time.  This DNA remains totally constant throughout the person's life. During the paternity testing process, the genetic components of the child compared to those of the alleged father. If the mother's sample is available, it will be used in this comparison as well: modern genetic testing does not require the mother's sample.

If the tested man (alleged father) does not have the genetic characteristics necessary to be the biological father of the child, he is excluded, meaning he is not the baby's father. If the tested man's DNA does contain those genetic characteristics, then he will not 'not excluded' and declared the biological father.

Some of us oldtimers here have had that done accidentally when the server crashed....my post count would be higher, but that wouldn't mean my posts would be answered any differently, if at all....I'm so busy catching up here on this case, I'm not sure who I've welcomed along the way...for those I've missed:
