Lawyer With Death Penalty Experience Joins Casey Anthony Team

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's rookie lawyer is getting some help. Jose Baez doesn't have the credentials to try a death penalty case, so he's enlisted the help of a Miami lawyer who's defended some brutal murderers.

Miami criminal defense attorney Terence Lenamon has joined the Casey Anthony defense team. Two of the three high-profile murderers Eyewitness News knows he's defended are on death row. The other is serving five consecutive life sentences.

Terence Lenamon would not talk to Eyewitness News on Tuesday. He's now part of accused killer Casey Anthony's defense team. She could face the death penalty for the murder of her daughter Caylee. Her attorney, Jose Baez, is not qualified to handle death penalty cases, but Lenamon is.

Lenamon is a highly-rated defense attorney. Still, two of three high-profile murderers he's defended in recent years are on Florida's death row.

One of them is known as "The Miami Stranger." Harrel Franklin Braddy, 59, was sent to death row last year for literally feeding little Quatisha Maycock to the alligators in the Everglades after strangling her mother and leaving her for dead. The jury voted 11-1 for death. Braddy had already been convicted of choking a corrections officer. Lenamon had tried to convince the jury the little girl's murder was not intentional, but "a horrible mistake".

Two months ago, a jury voted 8-4 to send another of Lenamon's clients to death row, 31-year-old Wadada Delhall, for murdering a key witness who testified against his brother in a murder case.

One of his high-profile Miami murder clients did escape the death penalty. Cesar Mena, 29, a member of the so-called "Orlando Boys," who raped and killed Ana Maria Angel and stabbed her high school sweetheart, is serving five consecutive life sentences.

Casey's defense attorney keeps insisting Caylee is still alive, even though a grand jury indicted her for premeditated murder after hearing the evidence the FBI and Orange County sheriff's investigators have against her.

If Caylee's body is not found before trial, it's unlikely Baez will need help from a death penalty-qualified attorney, because without a body there probably would be no push for the death penalty.

can anyone confirm this? I was told that those in solitary confinement are not allowed commissary (?sp) Privileges, I have it on pretty good authority (have clients that have spent time in Orange County Jail).

I think the solitary confinement issues you are talking about would apply if she were in solitary for some infraction...as punishment, visitation and commissary privileges taken away

In this case it has been stated that she is in solitary for her protection and to keep from having disruption within the jail, so she can have visitors and commissary privileges. From what we heard she has only giving authorization that her family be allowed to visit and so far to my knowledge that hasn't happened. And it was all over the TV last night that no one had put money in her commissary account....and ooppsss this morning she now has money in her account

I do not think that the defense is going to put on ANY DEFENSE.  They certainly cannot put KC on the stand.  I think they are just going to attempt to refute any science, and then state that the prosecutor did not prove that KC killed little Caylee.  They really have no other defense - IMO

I don't understand the reasoning behind her family not visiting her.  Disregarding OUR feelings about Casey, they have supported her yet now she seems abandoned.

Is it not probable that if she is found guilty, she will be shipped to a prison with a higher security rating?  My guess is that it will then be more difficult for them to see her.

I can't understand why they are not taking advantage of this time while she is housed locally to visit her.

Even if this were my child and I testified against her (which I would unless my resolve weakened), I still cannot imagine forsaking her with no visits.  If I did not want to talk to her, I would at least go visit to "see" her.  Of course, not having been in this situation (nor will I ever), I really cannot imagine, I guess. 

By the way, I know I will never be in that situation because sadly we have no children.  I've always heard from my friends though that you never say "my child would not do that" so I had to qualify my reasoning.

I have thought from the beginning that this was a flawed attempt to collect reward money on Casey's part.  That is why she was looking on Missing Children's Sites.  Trying to figure out how it might play out. Something went horribly wrong. There would be another party involved, but not Zanny.   I think she had a lot of contacts from Fusion and other hang outs.  And not reputable either.  Can you just see her drinking at the bar and pouring out her tale of woe?

I am pretty sure that Casey has to OK visits...remembering she canceled several the last time she was in. So the A's may have made requests to see her and she is declining...I wouldn't put it past her.....she certainly blames her parents for her being in jail

Has anyone ever reported who Cindy's counselor was?  I realize sessions would be private information but does the name have to also be held private?  In some of the rumors floating out there was the fact that the graduate student who was killed in the park on June 9 was a family counselor.  I have no way to confirm this so realize it is simply something I read in the media.

Again, this is only MY question but... I have never been satisfied with the June 9 date being what everyone quoted at the beginning.  It is still the date on the missing posters.  The whole issue is confusing to me because if you look closely at the card on the table when Cindy visits with Caylee at the nursing home, it plainly said "Happy Father's Day."  It just doesn't seem like a forgettable day to me and I've always thought something strange about that whole day and why that date was wrongly given.

I've heard Cindy's explanation but I've also heard her dish out dates without much hesitation about Casey's and Zannie's trip to the conference.  I tend to be inclined to think there is a reason she doesn't want to remember June 15...and I wonder if Caylee didn't die then instead of June 16 like we all think.  JMO but Cindy blocked that date out for some reason!

Supporting Casey's in her lies ... walking on egg shells ... coddling her ... for over three months has resulted in naught.  Maybe if Casey believes that her family is no longer going to shield her from her wrongdoing ... there will be a change of heart.

On Nancy Grace last night it said that she has not made any requests to see anyone, she has made no phone calls and no one has scheduled any visits. George however did deposit $50 into her commissary account.

Baez must be aware of this connection, then again, he's not the brightest bulb.

I was a bit confused about the odd amount of money put into Casey's account.  So, I went surfing around and came upon a site for some prison's commissary rates.  It would seem that items are not priced in whole amounts. Like tea might be $1.22 for 3 bags, etc.  Perhaps this is an explanation????

I was listening to KC’s original interviews with LE at Universal and a few things stood out to me.  I don’t know if they’ve been mentioned before but here are some.

KC said Zenaida’s  father was black, mother Puerto Rican, so why would her last names be Fernandez-Gonzalez if her father was black.

She also said Z had no children, I thought I had read that KC said she had 2 children like what was on the apt application.

KC said for the longest time her mother didn’t want her to go running because of  Nicole Gangozza’s murder at Blanchard.  If NG was killed on June 10th and KC last saw Cindy on June 15th when was this longest time?  Only a 5 day interval.

Child-neglect charge dropped against Casey Anthony

The State Attorney's Office has dropped its child-neglect charge against Casey Anthony.

The decision was made in light of the grand jury's recent indictment of Anthony on charges first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child and four counts of providing false information to law enforcement.

In a statement released this morning, the State Attorney's Office explained: "The neglect charges were premised on the theory that her child, Caylee Marie, was still alive. As the investigation progressed and it became clear that the evidence proved that the child was deceased, the State sought an indictment on the legally appropriate charges."

The release said the State Attorney's Office would not comment further.

So worse case scenario, IF the jury doesn't convict her of murder charges b/c of no body, what else can she get? I don't understand why they would drop any charges against her, I would think the more the better. If convicted of these lesser charges, she could get out in a few years due to good behavior?

Now Casey Anthony has a little money to play with in jail. Her bail bondsman deposited $51.26 into her jail account Tuesday. That's more than the $50 her father gave her.

So what could Casey buy with her $100-plus from the jail commissary? She could get a moon pie for 60 cents, a bra for $5.99, about the same price she paid at Target, or she could buy herself a sympathy card for $2.

I saw a show on TV a few years ago that was very sad about a missing young woman. After many years, a recent widow came forward to tell authorities what her husband had said on his deathbed. It seems that the young woman (whose name I don't remember) was at a party and met a man who invited her to another party with his friends. While at the second party, she apparently embarrassed him in front of his friends. He must have been a looney, because he killed her and had one or more of the friends help dispose of her body by dumping it where alligators would get it.

I can't remember if the man on the deathbed was the killer or a friend, but what stuck in my mind was that putting bodies where there are alligators seems to be a fairly common means of body disposal.  ::MonkeyNoNo::

Dolce, I have met some really terrific people over the last few years. I have a friend, Mary X, that goes to online morgues and finds unidentified body and compares those bodies and what they were wearing and piercings (etc) to known unknowns.

Last year she found a case where a head was found in a can of paint (a very old can of paint). She got the head DNA tested against Tiffany's DNA, and I don't think it turned out to be her.

But she has found the identities of several missing people in states no one thought to look.

That's funny!!  I called and listened - kinda creepy.  I called on my cell phone and did not block my number.  Two minutes later, my phone rang...it freaked me out, thinking it might be LA.  LOL.  Thankfully, it was a friend.

I am a mom and my youngest graduates this year. A few years back he wanted a computer and I asked him to show me the basics and he did. I managed to get around from site to site and landed on a few missing persons sites and some of the story's struck me because it must be so hard for the people who have a missing child or loved one just to get up each day. I don't think I could do it.

So I decided to try and match some of the unidentified people in morgues to those missing people because I also believe that when people are born they are given names by someone who loves them and when the person dies it should be that they die with the same names given them at birth and be put to rest by their family's and not listed as a John or Jane Doe in a freezer someplace-So that would be the WHY part. Now on to the HOW part.

I bop around from morgue to morgue on the internet and some will list clothing worn at the time or list physical markings. Others will show actual photos and that is the HOW I do it part.

I have contacted a few coroners in different parts of the country and have also contacted some police departments and made a few friends, but I have run into a few also that I don't think could find themselves or some that I believe wear there uniforms to bed because they love their badge so much. I have met a few that are
thankful for the help and are willing to listen to a theory regardless of how far fetched it may sound, those are the ones that get solved.

WHAT MOTIVATES ME?

The fact there are so many people missing loved ones that have no answers as to why this happened and where there loved ones are.

These families of "the missing" wake up every day and go to bed each night with those same questions on there minds and from the tv shows I have watched and the many articles I have read each day is the same over and over again because with out answers they can not move on.

One mother put it this way, it's like each day is a repeat of the day it happened she also added that not knowing is the hardest part because you can't even think of closure until you have an answer. It is family's and parents that motivate me to
find these people.

I look in the areas that they don't want to think about - morgues. I try to see if I can match clothing, dates, birthmarks, prior surgeries, prior broken bones, breast enlargements. Anything that may single out a victim of crime or accident victim to those of the people reported missing.

I do it to help these families find closure so they can begin the healing process and not have to wake up each day wondering will today be the day police get a lead? Will today be the day he or she comes home? Each night they go to bed wondering will tomorrow be the day I get answers?

Some people last saw there loved one so long ago they have given up hope of any closure at all and just go on existing in the world. They have had birthdays and holidays go by that are only enjoyed by a memory they have of the last one spent together at a happier time when they were not in this nightmare and unfortunately that is the way some will continue to live.

I believe in miracles and the fact that some have come home alive and healthy after years of being missing is proof that miracles do exist, but sadly not everyone gets one. But still, knowing that miracles do happen should help them to continue to pray and hope that maybe it will happen for them to. I was raised to love people-all people, not just the ones of my same skin color or faith. I was raised to treat people the way I would like to be treated. I was raised to believe that God not only judges you for your sins but he also judges you for what you do for others. It is those values that make finding missing people my PASSION.

If you have or know someone that is missing a loved one it is very important that dental records are made available and that DNA (preferably from parents) is entered into Codis.

When you are a ward of the state they are responsible for your health and welfare and all items and care needed to maintain that level of health and care.

About your friend.. I didn't even know they had online morgues.  (Aside from those "shock" sites with pictures of famous dead people). (I suppose she has access to police computers?)  My family (mom, sister and brother-in-law) are all in the funeral and crime scene business. It's unfortunate, but my sister said that when she tells people what she does for a living, people tell her she must be morbid, or that she's sick and twisted.   ::MonkeyNoNo::  There is nothing morbid about wanting to help people.  These jobs are not for the faint at heart.  But they are for people with heart.

I have a question..

So there have been two sightings that we know of- of Casey coming out of the woods on Boggy Rd.
These sightings were on two different days. When the woman spotted her in the jogging suit and bball
cap she wasn't carrying anything IIRC. The second sighting by that man had her in a straw hat and red glasses
carrying a shovel and a bag. So, if one were to speculate that she buried Caylee there when the first sighting
took place, and dug her up and she was in the bag that went into the trunk when the second sighting took
place, there would no longer be a body in those woods.
I know that Tim Miller's crew has almost everything under the sun from airboats and horses to helicopters and
ground penetrating sonar.. BUT, do they have cadaver dogs? If the body has been moved from there, they
wouldn't find anything in those woods without dogs.

Funny story....I was 13 and my mom bought brand new top of the line carpeting for the whole house.  I spilled some acne stuff that bleached the carpet.  She went nuts and I told her it was my grandfather's dog who pee'd on the carpet.  She was crazy about her carpet (and in need of a Valium).  She went as far to bring someone from the carpets manufacturer to spray some stuff on the stain and look at it under a special light.  I don't know if it was luminol.

The County jail here is smoke free. Our Nurse Practitioner is occasionally called to provide services there. He says that Nicotine Patches/Gum aren't allowed either, and that when prisoners are first booked in, they have to wait for commisary day (Thursday) to place an order, and can only do so IF there is money in their account. Money can only be deposited in an inmate's account in $50.00 increments, and there's an eight dollar "processing" fee to deposit it.

Therefore, an inmate is given only a hotel size bar of soap, a "uniform" that does not include underwear, and flimsy flip flops. No shampoo, no toothpaste is issued. Underwear, shampoo, etc can be purchased from the commissary at inflated prices, but many inmates go a week after being booked without even having their uniform laundered, because they don't want to have to wait for it to come back naked. He said ciggies go for $10 - $20 each.

I'm just hoping LE  has managed to the obtain cell tower records for June / July (Not CALL Records) in order to track Casey's phone  when it was powered on.
That + other reports may give TES  an edge on where to concentrate any searches   

My husband thinks I am obsessed, as well.  He doesn't mind, but he would rather not talk about it with me.  So that's why I am here!  Why does your DH think it's circumstantial?  Does he think she is innocent.  My ex-fiance used to tell me how innocent OJ was during his murder trial.  One of the many reasons he's my ex! ::MonkeyHaHa::

Only you guys know my real name. I only use it here because when SM started I used it on the front page.

I went to Murt's video cam and chat place last night and he gave his opinion on different aspects of the case.  I think he is right that she had no help, as hard as that is to believe.  He says she does not trust anyone enough to get help.  And he thinks Caylee was put into a duffel bag of some kind and Casey dragged her into the woods or wherever when she could not lift her.  He has really put a lot of thought into this case.  His idea that land searchers probably don't need to go any farther than 80 feet off the roadside is a good one.  She could not carry the body much farther than that.

Is the bail bondsman the same guy who recently escorted her to her home confinement meetings?  Tall, gray hair, wore a badge on his belt loop?

Oh no, he doesn't think that she is innocent at all... he just hates NG and thinks that everything is gossip and innuendo until it is brought out in court.  He thinks we are all a bunch of monday morning quarterbacks and armchair psychologists and I guess it is his LE background that makes him want to know the evidence only and doesn't want to know anything else about it. 

Let's keep in mind that while he is federally trained, he is a secret service agent... which makes him no more of a homicide detective or prosecutor than any of the rest of us...  ::MonkeyEek::  (can you tell that I have had just about enough of him tonight????)

well, that's Murt opinion... the facts say otherwise or the police would not have been looking to match the DNA in the trunk stain that is not matching Caylee or Casey.

So someone was in the trunk where the dead body was located.

That means either someone helped her with the crime, the disposal or the clean up.

Looks to me as if she had help. And I think that's what the police think also.

one more point why do so many people think it is impossible for a 110 pound person to lift a person that weighs 35 pounds. I'm not understand that at all.

Caylee was her child, presumably, she lifted her every day of her life.

I think that whatever she bought at JCP (that hasn't been revealed yet) is something very incriminating to help her dispose of the body.  A duffel, a shovel, whatever - something that Cindy recognized immediately as being incriminating.

There had to be something that connects to the case or LE would have released those receipts as well.  I'm with you on the bag.

I was wondering why Cindy would not reveal her JC Penney statement to the Police..... now that makes sense.

Exactly Rob.  Also easy to put in a stroller or rolling luggage.  Not like an adult body.

Lifting a live child is very different from lifting a dead one.  Or even a limp one.  You know what it is like when a child just falls down on the floor and becomes a "dead weight" for lack of a better term.  A dead body is very unwieldy and difficult to carry, I would imagine. 

I am not sure how dna "in the stain" would prove an accomplice.  We all have heard enough about transferrence to know that dna can be transferred from clothing, bags, or anything else that had been in the trunk.  I think the cops may just want to rule out the possibility of an accomplice.  Or just clear up any loose ends.

One thing is certain.  If someone outside the family helped her at any stage of the crime, that person must be pretty nervous right now.

I know I am not doing this right....here is the post last night that kept me awake....I agree about the purchase most likely being a duffel bag of some sort...the other part about the phone call is what kept going through my mind.....

Yes there is an item that Casey bought at JC Penny that is incriminating circumstantially, I will get back to that soon......as far as the call, the belief is to check to see about using it before taking it from the residence.

 The only thing that disturbs me about the JCP receipt is that the purchase was made on the afternoon/evening of June 27th (or so I thought).   That wouldn't fit into the theory of KC disposing of her prior to abandoning her car.  Could be my dates and times are wrong.

Mary - this is a good point but LP already pointed out, he thinks she came back to the car and took it to dispose of the body.  Could be that the timing of the jcp purchase is part of why he thinks it happened that way.

Well, the body had to be in some container while it was in the trunk.  Maybe she put it in a plastic bag and later put that bag into the newly purchased duffel or suitcase.  Some of those rolling suitcases are very light, but I think something could seep through pretty easily.

Do we know about how big the stain was?  Are we talking microscopic here or was it a significant size?

oooh... next time they drive us crazy at the same time, let's use some pilot perks and fly away to fiji or something...  ::MonkeyWink::

KC may have called to see if it was still active, if Mom had found out about past purchases and cancelled it or what the balance was on the charge card.

When the phone records were available, there was a call to the JCP credit department.
Probably checking to see how much room was on the card, like how close to the credit limit.

Tim had also said that there would be no need for her to go very far from the road. I don't know what the terrain was at the end of June, probably went just as far as she could or had to.
.. The car had been Lee's at one time. He also has access to it before it was taken away for evidence. Process of elimination.

I personally think she probably put Caylee in a trash bag - she was placed in the trunk at the anthony home, a trash bag was probably the most readily available item.  And I think whatever she bought at JCP was more incriminating than perhaps a duffel might seem.  JMO.

I agree, Caylee's body had to be at the very least in a plastic bag.

I think a small girl like Casey would have a hard time digging a grave, but she could have covered the suitcase or whatever with a lot of leaves and limbs, I suppose, or tossed it in some water.

Good question, I don't remember anyone postulating on that.  I just remember LP saying on Nancy Grace one night, that she disposed of the body on the 27th and that she had left the car at amscot and came back and got it.  Anyone else remember ?  Anyway I think the only way he could be so sure about that is 1) jcp purchase - the timing and also WHAT she bought and 2) cell phone pings that put her in the woods shortly afterward.

If she purchased a rolling suitcase or duffel bag, she could say that she was intending to go to California.  I think the Marine out there said that she told him she wanted to go out there to see him and tell him something.  So it may be something more incriminating than that, like a shovel or a flashlight or maybe something to weigh down the body if she intended to put it in water.  I get the feeling they do not think she is in water, though, because of the emphasis on a land search.

Well if she went to JCP that day she had to have transportation.  Maybe she convinced Tony to lend her the car, telling him she wanted to buy him something for his trip to NY on June 30Th.

The JCPenney statement is becoming more suspicious by the minute.  I think LE has it and they are saving it for trial.  I dont think were going to get any more sneakie peaks from them.

I suppose she could have left the car at AMSCOT, called Tony, had him take her home, then later borrowed his Jeep, gone back to AMSCOT, where the car with the body still in it was parked, gone somewhere in her car, gotten rid of the body, gone back to AMSCOT, left it there, gone home in Tony's Jeep.  Pretty busy day.

Let's brainstorm incriminating things she could have purchased at J.C. Penny.

Shovel
Flashlight
Large quantities of bleach
Duffel bag or suitcase with wheels
Wheel barrow

Knowing Casey, she was probably calling to see if the duffle bag could be returned for cash.

Good point Rob.  In my work out I would bench more than that and then I weighed at 105.  I am getting to 110, but I am not alloud to lift heavy things right now...however I can still see myself being able to do it, dead weight or live child.  ESPECIALLY if my life and freedom where at stake.

The plastic bag would not have to break, just leak, and they often do that.

I know..... I lost sleep over that comment trying to figure it out...

Maybe she called to see if her order had been delivered to the house.

Maybe childrens comforter or bedding to wrap her in for her final resting ... before she placed her in the trash bag and in an dumpster?

What bothers me about "not too far from the road" or 80 ft theory is what if she was able to drag/carry her further? After reading about the Chandra Levey murder, I would carry a body a whole lot further knowing LE only searches just so far in, then clears the area. Chandra bones were found just beyond the search area.

I think Rob Dick must have been saying that she called JC Penney to see if the card was activated or had enough left of the limit to bother going over there.  I think this family may have been into maxing out credit cards on a regular basis.

Those are all good guesses - I wonder if JC Penney sells stuff like shovels (I really didn't think so) but certainly they sell duffels and suitcases - this could arouse Cindy's suspicions if said bag was no longer around.  I know you can use a JCP card at CVS too.  Casey probably knew that, being the little thieving shopaholic she is. 
I don't think she bought bleach, no evidence it was used anywhere.

Maybe she was calling to see if her Mom had found out she stole the card and if the account was still active or if her Mom closed it.

I have 2 thoughts here
First being, why would she use something so obvious as a suitcase to store a body at burial?  I mean that would stick out like a sore thumb in the woods, as would a rug, and shower curtain.

Second being, if she did package a suitcase then maybe her call to the marine was just a cover for the purchase of the suitcase that was sure to come up once the investigation began.

I think Chandra Levy's body may have been tossed or rolled down into a ravine.  And there is always the possibility that she was forced to walk down there and then killed in that place.

Florida is pretty flat around Orlando, isn't it?  But it would be hard to roll a suitcase or wheel barrow throw sawgrass and forest growth.

Ummmm..... I don't .....

Considering Casey Anthony ... the main suspect ... used her mother's credit cards during the month following when Caylee was last seen should be a good legal reason why Cindy Anthony's statement could be subpoena.  After all ... justice for Caylee Marie is what it is all about.

I agree with you both ways - my gut just tells me that whatever she bought is a lot more incriminating than a suitcase or bag.  And I don't think we'll get to hear what it is until trial, unless they release it to Baez as part of a required evidence sharing.

I thought that Tony stated that LE had the dogs sniff his vehicle and it was cleared. Is it possible that Casey could have cleaned the car thuroughly enough that a dog would not detect a hint that a dead body was once present?  I think that Hudsunn could have a good idea if this is possible.

This is a possible purchase that might need a call for more directions ,   one of those digger things that you can use with a household drill.  Sometimes dept. stores sell more "made for tv type" things .

She may have bought a jogger type stroller
Maybe a small steam cleaner or air purifier

JC Penney probably has a gardening supply center that would have a shovel, rake, etc. in it.

Golly, this is hard.  Maybe she bought some kind of overall or cover up for herself.  Something she could put on before handling the body.

IMO I think she may have put Caylee in a trash bag for a time, and as others have supposed it leaked.
I think she probably took a suitcase from the house and then put Caylee in that and moved her.
A suitcase or duffel with wheels, because at that point it would have been difficult at best to move her.
Then she had to go to JC Penneys to replace the missing item from the house. Remember Cindy saying nothing was missing?

The first time someone posted the link to the leopard luggage from JC Penneys, I just had a really strange feeling about it. Not sure why, but when I read that it had a pink lining, it just made my stomach lurch. Not sure why whoever posted the luggage link chose that particular luggage so if any monkeys know why I would love to hear about it.

No, I don't think she ever put the body in Tony's car - it was in her car.  Now the question for me becomes, if LP is correct that she left the car, came back for it and then dumped the body, was she originally just planning to leave the body in the car, to be discovered ? and then changed her mind?  Or had she just not completed her plan yet ?

Yes!  I think she might have called to make sure the card had not yet been cancelled.  She probably knew that Cindy was on to her theft given the fight over the stolen money from Grandma's bank account and Casey wanted to be sure that the crads she had access to were still available for use.  IMO

Dolce, I meant to say she drove Tony's Jeep to AMSCOT, parked it near her car, drove somewhere in her car which had the body in it, disposed of the body, drove back to AMSCOT, parked her car near the dumpster and got in Tony's car and drove it back to his place.

I remember he said she drove his car a lot while he was out of town and even had it cleaned up for him.  But that was earlier than the 27th.  I think he was back in town from NY by the 27th.

Many speculated it was a shovel, but it was somewhat girthy....

As far her saying nothing was missing, I have my doubts. It is very difficult to really know what is missing.

I'll have to admit I thought of a chain saw or even an ordinary saw.  Or something that would mask odor if she dug a shallow grave, like lime or whatever people use for that purpose.

How about a carpet shampoo'er w/ attachments and carpet shampoo to clean the car ? hence get rid of evidence and, the smell ?

carpet cleaner is actually (to me) a pretty good guess - I mean after all, what are the odds that Casey EVER cleaned the carpet in her car, herself ?   That would seem a very suspicious item AND PROOF THAT SHE KNEW THE BODY WAS IN THE CAR!

Sounds like Rob Dick meant it is not incriminating in and of itself, but in conjunction with the fact that a dead body had been in her car, it is incriminating.  Part of the puzzle. 

Of course, nothing sold in Penneys, I presume, is incriminating by itself.

Is it possible that perhaps it wasn't a "purchase" that Casey made to JCP but maybe a "cancellation" of a lay away that maybe she or Cindy had put on for something for Caylees upcoming birthday?  Maybe Casey knew that Cindy was upset about her abusing the charge card and without thinking she called to cancel the "lay away" knowing Caylee wouldn't be needing it and Cindy would be happy the money wasn't spent .... just a thought ...

Possible.  I am not familiar with JCP as I do not shop at malls.  What do they sell? I know luggage based on research, but in research I found that much of it stated "Only Available Online".

It means to me something to help in disposal of a body or the coverup of the aftermath.

But she left the trash in the car and the car reeked when C and G got it.  I dont think if she had tried to clean it up it would of smelled so bad.

Shower curtain is not a bad guess at all.  This is just maddening.  Just think how frustrated detectives must get trying to piece all of this together.  But they know more than we do.  Maybe we can come back here when the facts come out and see if anyone guessed correctly.

Miami criminal defense attorney Terence Lenamon has joined the Casey Anthony defense team. Two of the three high-profile murderers Eyewitness News knows he's defended are on death row. The other is serving five consecutive life sentences.

Terence Lenamon would not talk to Eyewitness News on Tuesday. He's now part of accused killer Casey Anthony's defense team. She could face the death penalty for the murder of her daughter Caylee. Her attorney, Jose Baez, is not qualified to handle death penalty cases, but Lenamon is.

Lenamon is a highly-rated defense attorney. Still, two of three high-profile murderers he's defended in recent years are on Florida's death row.

One of them is known as "The Miami Stranger." Harrel Franklin Braddy, 59, was sent to death row last year for literally feeding little Quatisha Maycock to the alligators in the Everglades after strangling her mother and leaving her for dead. The jury voted 11-1 for death. Braddy had already been convicted of choking a corrections officer. Lenamon had tried to convince the jury the little girl's murder was not intentional, but "a horrible mistake".

Two months ago, a jury voted 8-4 to send another of Lenamon's clients to death row, 31-year-old Wadada Delhall, for murdering a key witness who testified against his brother in a murder case.

One of his high-profile Miami murder clients did escape the death penalty. Cesar Mena, 29, a member of the so-called "Orlando Boys," who raped and killed Ana Maria Angel and stabbed her high school sweetheart, is serving five consecutive life sentences.

Casey's defense attorney keeps insisting Caylee is still alive, even though a grand jury indicted her for premeditated murder after hearing the evidence the FBI and Orange County sheriff's investigators have against her.

If Caylee's body is not found before trial, it's unlikely Baez will need help from a death penalty-qualified attorney, because without a body there probably would be no push for the death penalty.

JC Peny's is an old, old "department store." Similar to Sears, but it morphed into mostly clothes and house hold goods -- not tools, appliances etc. such as Sears has. Back in early rural America, the JC Penny catalog was a highly prized commodity. It made available to Americans in the country what their city folk brethern could purchase in the stores. It was among the first "mail order" stores around.

JC Penny's sells two types of carpet cleaners and both are online purchase only.  Did Casey also have her mother's Sears card (if Cindy had one.?)

OHMIGOD!  I went to JC Penney and looked up camouflage and they have camouflage shower curtains and sleeping bags, too.  A sleeping bag really hit me for some reason.  They even zip up.  And I would imagine they are often waterproof.

I dunno ... I would think trying to dispose of a body in a shower curtain would be a bad idea ... I would think that it would cover the body too well from the elements and slow down the decomp process ... assuming she would think that far ahead ... Besides ... I think a shower curtain could have been purchased cheaper on "Amy's dime" from Target ....

I think so.... I looked up the Orlando JCP awhile back and did a yahoo search for pass port photos in orlando and JCP came up 3rd...dunnooo
