What Happened to Missing Mom? Police Need Your Help!

Ashville, N.Y. (WKBW)- Police have located the van belonging to a missing mother from Ashville but there is still no sign of 36 year old Corrie Anderson.
Community members continue a widespread search for the woman. The Ashville native was last seen Tuesday at 1:10 pm. She was visiting a friend at Lake County Dodge in Jamestown, N.Y. Family members grew concerned when the dedicated mother never showed up to pick up a child at school. Corrie's van was found in a rural area south of Jamestown-- but police still do not know where Anderson is.
State police are considering her case very unusual and suspicious. Family members and friends say she never would have taken off voluntarily and are concerned for her safety.

BUSTI, N.Y. (WIVB) - We are following the latest new developments into the search for a missing mother in the southern tier.

State Police recovered the van of Corrie Anderson.

And they tell us they are searching the home of her ex-husband.

A tip led New York State Troopers to the 2005 Dodge Caravan Corrie Anderson was last seen driving.

It was abandoned about three miles from her home near the Wellman State Forest in the Town of Busti.

Now, investigators are hoping clues from the vehicle will lead them to the missing mother of three.

36-year-old Corrie Anderson was last scene leaving the Lake County Dodge Dealership in Jamestown around 1:00 in the afternoon, Tuesday.

Family members reported her missing hours later.

She failed to pick up her six year old son from school.

Relatives say that was considered very out of character for Anderson.

State Police are asking anyone with information on this investigation call 665-3113.

It was standing-room-only Saturday at a prayer vigil held at Lakewood Baptist Church for missing Ashville woman Corrie Anderson. LAKEWOOD - Friends, family members and neighbors of missing Ashville mother Corrie Anderson gathered alongside strangers Saturday evening for a prayer vigil at Lakewood Baptist Church.

Soft sobs and firm hugs were shared, along with hopes and prayers that Ms. Anderson would return home safely soon.

''I don't know a lot of the people here tonight, but I know you're here because you care,'' said Pastor Dan Cook of Lakewood Baptist Church. ''We are all here to reach out, to pray for strength from God.''

The people who filled the room broke into small groups and together prayed for Ms. Anderson's family to have strength, for the missing mom's protection and for law enforcement to find the clue that leads them to Ms. Anderson.

''Let us pray that the angels of God will surround Corrie at this time and lift her up and protect her,'' Cook said. ''We should also pray for law enforcement, for their personal safety and wisdom to make the right decisions.''

Lt. Jim Quattrone of the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department was also present Saturday, providing the group with an update about the case.

''The New York State Police, along with every law enforcement agency in the county, are doing everything they can to bring Corrie home safely,'' he said. ''The State Police were searching another area a while ago but had no solid leads. They will continue again at daybreak.''

He explained that rumors in the community have the potential to steer the investigation off course and urged everyone not to repeat them.

''There is a lot of disinformation out there,'' Quattrone said, ''but you can trust what comes from the State Police spokesperson.''

He also said that at this time, there are no plans to organize a community search party, but that may be a possibility in the future.

Ms. Anderson was last seen leaving the Lake County Dodge car dealership on Washington Street at 1:10 p.m. Oct. 28 after stopping by to say 'hello' to a friend. Her 2005 blue Dodge Caravan was found Thursday, on a trail between a field and wooded area off of Kortwright Road in Busti.

The van has since been taken to Batavia, where it is undergoing a forensic search, and law enforcement agencies have been searching the woods daily to find clues.

Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley has said Ms. Anderson's disappearance is considered a missing person's case under suspicious circumstances.

Ms. Anderson has green eyes and chin-length blond hair. She is about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and weighs 170 pounds. She was last seen wearing black corduroy pants, a black leather jacket and small, wire-rimmed glasses.

Anyone with information about Ms. Anderson's whereabouts is asked to call the state police in Jamestown at 665-3113.

The Search for Missing Mother of Three Corrie Anderson

Corrie AndersonI was on the scene in Jamestown, N.Y. today looking into the case of 36-year-old Corrie L. Anderson, a southern-tier mother of three who went missing early last week.

According to police, Corrie was last seen on the afternoon of October 28, leaving the Lake County Dodge dealership on Washington Street in Jamestown. Family members reported Corrie missing later that day when she failed to pick up her 6-year-old son from school. Investigators with the New York State Police opened a file on the case and issued an APB (all points bulletin) for Corrie's blue 2005 Dodge Caravan, New York license number CX404.

Lake County Dodge"We're appealing to people who have large parking lots... hotels or motels that this vehicle could be left abandoned where it wouldn't soon be noticed, so if people can, please check lots to see if any vehicles were left abandoned," State Police Major Christopher Cummings told WIVB.com.

On October 30, a hunter discovered Corey's car abandoned at a gas well off of Kortwright Road in the town of Busti.

"I was working outside, when an old fellow I know came walking out of the woods and said that he had found the woman's car on my property," the landowner, who does not wish to be identified, told Investigation Discovery. "He said he did not want any part of it, so I took my farmhand up there to have a look. The van was just past the gas well, out of site from the road. I walked up to it and looked inside, but I did not see anyone or any sign of trouble. We compared the license plate numbers to the one listed in the paper, and sure enough, it was her car. I phoned the police and within an hour they had the whole area cordoned off."

Location where vehicle was foundState police recovered the vehicle from the field, and sent it to Batavia for forensic testing.

That night, investigators searched the Celoron, N.Y. home of Corrie's second husband, Kenneth Anderson. It should be noted that several outlets are reporting that the Andersons are divorced; however, neighbors with whom I spoke said that their divorce had not yet been finalized.

Investigators reportedly questioned Anderson for several hours; however, what – if anything – they learned is unknown. Police have not called Anderson a suspect or person of interest in his wife's disappearance.

Flags indicate location where vehicle was foundGetting back to the location where the car was found, the property owner said that it is not unusual for people to go onto his property to hunt or target shoot. He said he did not see any unusual activity in the area in the days leading up to the discovery of the car; however he did point out that the location is only a half-mile walk through the woods to Corrie's house, which is situated just across the road from the Wellman State Forest – a 447-acre state park. Driving distance from the location the car was found to her home is roughly two miles.

Corrie and Kenneth Anderson had lived together in the house prior to their breakup, which occurred about two years ago. Corrie reportedly had one child with Kenneth and two children with her first husband.

The property owner said he knew Kenneth personally and that, in previous years, he had allowed him to hunt on his property.

There was one other interesting tidbit that the property owner shared with me; however, I have not yet been able to verify it. He said that in the weeks leading up to Corrie's disappearance, someone had broken into her house and rearranged her furniture. He said he was told that nothing was stolen, but that the incident had frightened her. He also recalled a recent incident in which someone had allegedly threatened her with a gun.

In a recent statement to the media, Lt. Jim Quattrone of the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department warned the public that there are a lot of "rumors" and "disinformation" out there. As a result, I took the information I was given to the authorities for verification; however, they had "no comment." Hence, the validity of the land owner's statements remains unclear.

During the past week, multiple agencies have been involved in the search for Corrie. Authorities say that have used ATV's, helicopters and cadaver sniffing dogs to help them clear areas of interest. At this time there are no plans to organize a community search party.

When asked by a reporter from WIVB.com if there appears to be foul play, Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley replied, "Well, we can't rule it out, so I think, from my perspective, we treat it as though there has been foul play."

Search centers on Ellery property for missing Chautauqua County woman

About 60 people from the State Police and three other agencies in Chautauqua County this morning launched an intensive search of a Town of Ellery property looking for any evidence connected to the disappearance of Corrie L. Anderson, the missing Ashville woman.

Relatives reported Anderson missing more than a week ago after she failed to pick up her young child from school. Authorities have said that would be very unusual for the 36-year-old mother of three children.

Today's search party included state troopers, Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies, forest rangers and Department of Environmental Conservation officers. They fanned out this morning on some property belonging to Anderson's family.

"Today we're continuing our search for Corrie Anderson, hoping to find her or recover any evidence," State Police public information officer Rebecca Gibbons said at mid-morning. "At this point, we don't have any new information regarding her whereabouts."

The discovery of Anderson's van in a remote area Thursday night led law-enforcement officials to be fearful that she was the victim of foul play.

A massive search for Corrie Anderson focused Wednesday on property owned by her estranged husband's family. Anderson is the 36-year old Chautauqua County mother of three, missing now for one week.

Investigators combed a massive area of land Wednesday in Chautauqua County as they continue to search for 36-year old Corrie Anderson, the mother of three who has been missing now for more than a week.

Police searched by air, on ATV, using K-9 units, and manpower property owned by the family of Corrie Anderson's estranged husband.

Chautauqua County D.A. David Foley says Corrie went to work at her part-time job last Tuesday morning, then she went to the workplace of a friend for a visit. She left there about 1:15pm, and never showed up two hours later at her son's school. Her van was found in a wooded field south of Jamestown last Thursday, but there was no sign of her.

Police did not comment on whether there are any people of interest and said they are focusing their searches on areas familiar to Corrie.

Search Continues For Missing Ashville Woman

BUSTI- Despite persistent rumors throughout the community Thursday that law enforcement officials had located missing Ashville mother Corrie Anderson, authorities say it simply isn't true and they are continuing their search today.

''Nothing new has happened and we are continuing the search for Ms. Anderson,'' said New York State Trooper Rebecca Gibbons, public information officer for the case. ''We start early in the morning and work as long as we can.''

Much of Thursday was spent searching the wooded areas around the Wellman State Forest in Busti, not far from where Ms. Anderson lived on Wellman Road.

Crews from the New York State Police, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department, Lakewood-Busti Police, New York State Forest Rangers and Department of Environmental Conservation are contributing manpower and specific skill sets to locate the missing woman.

A few weeks ago, The Batavian reported on the search for Corrie Anderson, who was last seen in Jamestown on October 28. Earlier today, we picked up an article from the Jamestown Post-Journal that said police would be postponing the search for Anderson due to hazardous conditions.

We then received the following press release from the state police:

The Warren County Crime Stoppers in Pennsylvania and the Greater Buffalo Metropolitan Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward for any information leading to the location of Corrie Anderson from Busti, New York. Ms. Anderson was last since on October 28, 2008 leaving the Lake County Dodge in the City of Jamestown. Ms. Anderson is described as a white female, 5’11’’ tall, 170 pounds, blonde shoulder length hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing black corduroy pants, a black leather jacket and glasses. Ms. Anderson lives outside of Jamestown and is known to frequent Pennsylvania. Her disappearance is considered suspicious and the New York State Police have had an ongoing investigation since she was reported missing. A photo of Ms. Anderson is available on our website at www.troopers.state.ny.us.

Plate is set for missing mother of 3;
Family preserves hope she will be returned

The family of missing Chautauqua County mother Corrie L. Anderson set an empty place for her at their Thanksgiving table, praying for her safety and clinging to the conviction that she is still alive.

Then on Friday, the one-month anniversary of her disappearance, the family gathered to offer a $15,000 cash reward for information leading either to her being found or toward the arrest and conviction of whoever abducted her.

"Thanksgiving was very difficult for us," her sister, Autumn Boardman, said Friday. "We had an empty place for Corrie. We all miss her a lot. But the whole family strongly believes, through our faith and intuition, that she is alive. We feel she is being held captive, against her will."

About two-dozen family members who gathered for Thanksgiving at an aunt's home in Panama took a moment to pray for Anderson before their meal.

"We prayed for her protection, that God would give her the wisdom she needs now, wrap his arms around her and protect her and love her," Boardman said.

Anderson has been missing since the afternoon of Oct. 28, after she left her part-time job at Jamestown Community College's Hultquist Library and stopped by the Lake County Dodge dealership on Washington Street to say hello to her boyfriend.

Last seen leaving the car dealership at about 1:15 p.m., Anderson missed a 3:15 p.m. meeting at her son's school and failed to pick him up there. According to the Web site her family has set up, www.findcorrie.com, that was totally out of character for Anderson.

Two days later, a hunter's tip led New York State Police to find her dark blue 2005 Dodge Caravan, abandoned on a trail off Kortwright Road, not far from her Town of Busti home.

Why does Boardman believe her sister, the 36-year-old mother of three children, still is alive?

"Inside me, I just feel she is alive," she replied. "My mother feels the same way, and so does our whole family."

The Web site set up by her family also asks concerned people to sign up as volunteers. Anderson's cousin, Laurie Keefe, said volunteers could put up fliers, help plan future events, participate in any future community searches and contribute funds toward the search costs.

"That's the type of family we are," Keefe said. "We're strong. We're not going to stop looking for Corrie. We're not going to give up hope."

Family members also hope that the reward and the Web site can help appeal to whoever has Anderson or knows what happened to her.

"I am just begging and praying that they will have a change of heart and let her go," Boardman said. "Her family needs her. Her children need her."

Private Group To Join Local Authorities In Anderson Search

MAYVILLE - The private group helping with the search for missing mother Corrie Anderson has met with the New York State Police, and will be helping with further searches soon, according to Michael Ray, a forensic investigator with Texas EquuSearch.

''The weather is the major hindrance in our investigation at this point, so as soon as it breaks, I am recommending we return to the area and work to find Corrie,'' he said. ''After meeting with local law enforcement, I am very impressed with what they have already done and look forward to working with them when the time comes.''

The group was reportedly called in to assist by Ms. Anderson's family, and at an early morning news conference Wednesday, Ray introduced another family suffering with the same type of situation.

Linda Shiltz, the mother of missing Wyoming County man Michael F. Shiltz, said she understands what Ms. Anderson's family is going through.

''We have done some searches around the area where he went missing, but haven't found him yet,'' she said. ''He has his own place, his own business, and just disappeared.''

Shiltz, 42, was last seen by his family on Nov. 10, and reported missing by his family just under a week later. His vehicle was found parked on a trail off of Humphrey Road in the town of Sheldon Nov. 12, and at the time, family concluded he may have been hunting in the area.

''We want to help both of these families reunite with their loved ones and after our search for Corrie, we will be heading up to help the Shiltz family,'' Ray said. ''No one deserves to be without their loved ones, especially during the holiday season.''

Capt. Tim Talley of the New York State Police said he has offered Ray and his organization the same professional courtesy he would offer to other similar organizations.

''We will work with outside groups with a genuine interest in finding Corrie, because we want that as well,'' Talley said. ''I anticipate that when the snow is off the ground, we will conduct further searches. The big picture is all about finding Corrie Anderson.''

Ray said he is leaving the area today, after concluding what he described as a reconnaissance mission to gather facts about the case. He said he will recommend that his group returns soon to continue the search for Ms. Anderson. Ray also said that the family of missing Lakewood woman, Lori Ceci Bova, has decided not to enlist the group's help. He said that after speaking with the family, he understands where they are coming from and hopes they get the closure they have been seeking for more than 11 years.

Texas EquuSearch will be in Jamestown, NY to search for Corrie Anderson on April 3-5, 2009.

Corrie, a 36 year old mother of three, was last seen on October 28, 2008 when she went to visit a friend at an automotive dealership in Jamestown. Her car was found by a hunter on October 30, in a field near a gas well in the town of Busti.

Due to the extreme weather conditions over the winter, a large scale search effort by Texas EquuSearch was delayed until now.

Advance teams have been in the area several times over the last few months doing advance planning and reconnaissance with the family of Ms. Anderson and law enforcement to identify areas of interest.

We are in need of searchers on foot, on ATV’s and on horseback in addition to volunteers to work in the Command Center.

We are also need of volunteers with prior law enforcement, fire department and military background to work as Team Leaders during the search. A training class for Team Leaders and Command Center volunteers will be held on Thursday night, April 2nd.

The command post will tentatively (if it changes you will be notified) be located at the Busti Fire Department, located at 886 Mill Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701. Search teams will start getting dispatched at 8:00 am and the search will continue each day until dusk.

Corrie Anderson Search Set to Begin this Weekend
The search for Corrie Anderson, a missing mother of three from Ashville, N.Y., is scheduled to take place this weekend. However, despite previous plans, the search will no longer involve members of the search and recovery group, Texas EquuSearch.

The sudden change in plan remains unclear, but the family is adamant that they will continue forward, as is evident in a press release they sent out late last night.

"Although this news is disappointing to the family, they would like the public to know that all search plans and the schedule remain the same and they still need community support," the press release reads. "It will be a more local effort, not as grand-scale, but still the mission is the same, to search for Corrie. The hunters, farmers, firefighters and citizens that make up our community know this land and we need their help. We truly value and appreciate their support."

Texas group pulls out of search for Jamestown woman

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. -- The search for Corrie Anderson will continue without the help of Texas EquuSearch.

The nonprofit search-and-rescue group, based in Texas, told Anderson's family this week it would not participate in this weekend's search for Anderson, 36. The mother of three has been missing since Oct. 29.

"We can't afford to pay for this search," said Carolyn Todd, who does administrative work for Texas EquuSearch. "We had to say no because we can't afford to do it."

The family has decided to go ahead with the effort regardless, said Laurie Keefe, Anderson's cousin.

"They said they had to pull out unless we paid for the entire search," Keefe said. "We just couldn't do that."

But Todd says Texas EquuSearch never told the family it had to pay for the search, which they estimated in a budget sent to Anderson's mother would cost about $10,000.

"We would never tell a family they had to pay," she said.

Todd said the organization was upfront with Anderson's family from the beginning that it did not have much funding.

She said the family indicated it would donate money to Texas EquuSearch through fundraisers, but has not done so.

Anderson's mother, Vicki Acquisto, said Thursday she planned to present Texas EquuSearch with a check at a dinner planned after the weekend search had ended.

She would not say how much the family planned to donate, but said it was more than several thousand dollars.

"They told us they were a nonprofit and they don't charge the family," Acquisto said. "There was never anything about, 'Can you give us this amount, or that amount?'"

Todd said she did inquire with the family about how much the organization could expect to receive in donations but never received a response.

She said the organization has already spent more than $3,000 in preparation for the search, including a three-day visit to the Jamestown area in March.

She also said the maps of areas they planned to search, and information developed about the case during their involvement with the Anderson case has been passed along to investigators and the family.

"Our intent was good. We just can't afford it now," Todd said.

Acquisto said she wants to put the rift between the family and Texas EquuSearch behind her and instead concentrate on this weekend's search.

"The point is trying to find Corrie," she said. "That is our goal. To find Corrie."

Volunteers can meet Saturday and Sunday at the Ashville, N.Y., Fire Department training grounds, 2118 Magnolia Ave. Searches will start at 7 a.m. and continue throughout the daylight hours.

This case is very near and dear to my heart. I want to say although TES pulled out, the TEAM came together to support this family in a fashion that I COULD NOT be prouder of. I have seen searchers Torsade, Karen NY, and I am sure many others recount their efforts in a general way. Why do I say general? BECAUSE they followed the rules. As a volunteer or tema leader, your prohibited from discussing specifics.

I can tell you Corrie was not found this weekend. I can also tell you that very specific arrangements have been made to use the latest technology to find answers for Corrie and her family. Please keep in mind it is frequent that perps get a false sense of security, you know, the "I'm on home base now" mentality.

Think again.

Although Corrie was not found there were some places cleared. I went on this search this weekend not anticipating to find Corrie yet I am struck by how saddened I was that she was NOT found... is that even logical? There were young ( over 18 of course) and older... mid sixties(?) who participated. I became involved through my 73 year old mother who called me sobbing on October 28th, I didn't even recognize her voice. "You've got to pray for this woman at church who went missing...". I said " OK but who am I talking to"? ::MonkeyHaHa:: It is frustrating that it took six months to organize a search, I understand the weather factor but still...frustrating. For those of you who have never been on a search it is tedious. We had beautiful weather though. It is hard to maintain focus on the ground for such long periods of time yet imperative to do so. On breaks I would think about how difficult it must have been for Caylee searchers with the heat, the bugs, the undergrowth in Florida and just thank God that he sent a cool breeze occasionally and the pricker bushes aren't out in full force yet. This was a "walk in the park" compared to the Florida searches for sure. I plan on searching again as soon as another date is posted.

The search continued Thursday for a southern tier mother of three who's been missing since last October. State police narrowed the search down to a square mile.

More than 70 law enforcement officers searched for Corrie Anderson, 36. They searched a one square mile area of privately owned land in Busti near Anderson's home.

"The investigative steps we've taken in the last six or seven months led us to believe this would be a good area to search," said Captain Rick Allen, New York State Police.

State Police say there was no lead or one tip that led them there, but the land had not been searched before. And it wasn't easy to get through.

"The areas we're searching are thick with vegetation," said Allen. "When you do a search like this, you almost have to be in arm's length of each other or you miss stuff."

But despite all the efforts during the day long search law enforcement found nothing.

"I will search until we know the answers," said Vicki Acquisto, Corrie's mother.

Acquisto is just grateful police are still looking for her daughter. As workers searched, Corrie's mom says she waited on pins and needles.

"I still have hope because I'm a mom," she said. "There would be closure no matter, but just to have some answers to know what happened, that's all we're hoping for right now."

"We GPS every place we've been and we'll lay it on the map and we'll look at it and see, are we confident with the search or do we need to check some areas more thoroughly and we'll do that later next week or this week," said Allen.

State Police say there are no more searches planned, but they're still looking for any leads. Anyone with information is asked to call state police in Jamestown at 716-665-3113.

Anderson has been missing since last October. She was last seen on October 28th leaving a Jamestown car dealership where she had stopped to visit her boyfriend. Family members reported her missing after she failed to show up for an appointment at her son's school.

Two days later a hunter spotted Anderson's missing van in some low-lying woods near her home.

In April, Anderson's family called on an Indiana-based search team to help look for clues in Corrie's disappearance. Their efforts turned up nothing.

"He was just you know, I found a body I found a body, I need to talk to someone," said Scott Siller, an Onoville resident.

On Saturday afternoon Scott Siller says a visibly worried fisherman came into his business looking for a phone so he could call police.

The man had just spotted human skeletal remains along the shoreline of the Allegheny Reservoir at Onoville.

"He said he could tell it had been their for a while," said Siller.

Capt. Bob Yhale is with the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office.

He says they don't have any solid leads.

"We really don't have enough information to determine whether this was foul play, a drowning or what," Yhale said.

The acting Sheriff tells News 4 the remains, in the advanced stages of decomposition, are headed to ECMC for a post-mortem exam.

Officials say they don't know the age or gender of the person who died.

News 4 spoke to a family member of Corrie Anderson.

She tells News 4 they have been in touch with State Police since they heard about the discovery of human remains over the weekend.

They're not sure whether it's Corrie.

Corrie Anderson is the young mother of three who vanished in late October last year.

Family members reported her missing after she failed to pick up her child from school.

Authorities found her Caravan in a field south of Jamestown, but the search for Corrie continues.

Investigators say these remains could be anyone.

The acting Cattaraugus Sheriff says years ago they found the remains of an Ohio woman who went missing several years prior.

He said he won't speculate on who this could be.

They expect to know more in the coming days.

According to the New York State Police, the human remains found Saturday in the town of South Valley are not those of missing Chautauqua County mom Corrie Anderson.
Just before 4 p.m. Thursday, sources close to the investigation reported that dental records have ruled out Anderson, a Chautauqua County woman missing since Oct. 22, 2008. It is unknown at this point whether any other possibilities have been eliminated.

"It's been an anxious couple of days," said Vicki Acquisto, Anderson's mother, "but this keeps our hopes alive."

Acting Cattaraugus County Sheriff Tim Whitcomb did not return calls made later in the day, although he did speak earlier about the investigation. He said that despite the strong desire for quick answers, he believed it will still take some time to get conclusive answers.

"We want to get answers as soon as anyone but the truth of the matter is that these things take time," he said. "I would like to have some preliminary results as soon as possible so we can at least know an approximate height, age, gender and ethnicity, but it will likely take longer to have DNA extracted."

The human remains were initially taken to the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, although they have since been transported to Mercyhurst College where renowned forensic anthropologist Dr. Dennis Dirkmaat is processing them.

Dr. Dirkmaat has previously worked with the Jamestown Police Department in relation to the Yolanda Bindics investigation.

Bindics, a mother of four, vanished on Aug. 10, 2004, and her body was found in a wooded area in the town of Charlotte on Sept. 10, 2006. Her identity was not immediately known however, but eight days later, a conclusive report was released.

In September 2001, Dr. Dirkmaat served as the primary scientific advisor to Somerset County Coroner Wallace Miller during the recovery and identification of victims of United Flight 93.

The human remains were found Saturday on the shore of the Allegheny Reservoir, where the water level had been recently lowered for the fall. Since then, speculation about a possible identity has been running rampant, with local CSI viewers all chiming in on the process and the investigation's possible conclusion.

The area has three unsolved missing persons investigations from the past 13 years: Corrie Anderson and Lori Ceci-Bova, both missing from Chautauqua County, and Damien Sharp, who went missing from Warren, Pa.

It has been exactly 365 days since a missed meeting at her grandson's school started Vicki Acquisto's search for her daughter, Corrie Anderson.

"It's really hard and a year goes by too fast," Mrs. Acquisto said. "It's almost harder now than it was at first because as you keep living, you just can't see where you're going."

Corrie, a mother of three, was last seen at about 1:10 p.m. on Oct. 28, 2008, when she visited her boyfriend at the Lake County Dodge dealership on Washington Street in Jamestown. Her mother reported her missing about 3:45 p.m. that day, when Corrie failed to show up at her son's school for a meeting.

Her dark blue Dodge Caravan was found a short time later in a field not far from her Wellman Road home, and ever since, her family and the community have been looking for answers.

Mrs. Acquisto explained that her family is a close one, and frequently gathers to share a meal in honor of a special occasion. But since Corrie disappeared, they rarely sit at the dining room table they shared for years, because the empty chair where Corrie once sat reminds them of the difficult fact that she is gone.

"As a family, we've gone through every holiday and everyone's birthdays without her and that's probably been the hardest," said Autumn Boardman, Corrie's sister. "I think about her and miss her every day, but on those days, it is a lot harder to maintain. The last time I saw her was at my birthday party, and I can still see her so vividly, even though it has been a whole year."

The New York State Police have conducted several highly technical searches of different plots of land in the area since Corrie's disappearance, although none have yielded the answers for which they hoped.

In April, a private search group, Texas EquuSearch, pledged its support for the family and vowed to spearhead a massive community search, only to pull out days before the scheduled date.

Since then, Indiana-based 3 View Search Services has filled that void, although nothing can fill the void for Corrie's family.

A few weeks ago, a woman's skeletal remains were found in the Allegheny Reservoir near Onoville and dental records ruled out Corrie within a week. But her mother explained that each passing hour during that period of time was difficult and conflicting.

"I had a lot of people asking me if I was Corrie's mother and what I thought about (the discovery)," she said. "It was a difficult time because we want closure but we are also still holding on to the hope that she will come home safely one day."

Mrs. Boardman explained that her sister's absence in her life has changed her and made the things they once shared less enjoyable.

"When I was shopping for my mom's birthday, I wanted to get her something special but I couldn't figure out what to get," she said. "We used to shop together all the time. I stopped shopping and was about to call Corrie, but I couldn't."

She said she often reflects on how she always felt empathetic for the local families who were looking for answers about a missing loved one, but never thought she would be in that same position.

"You never dream it could be you and one day you get a call and your life is forever changed," Mrs. Boardman explained. "I just pray she doesn't become another unsolved case in Chautauqua County. I'll be on the hunt for her until I die."

The family is asking sportsmen and others who might be out in the woods in the region to keep an eye out for anything suspicious. Corrie's keys and purse are also missing. Her purse is described as black, 8-inch by 8-inch square, with a GH Bass & Company logo.

Corrie's family is offering a $15,000 reward for information about her whereabouts or information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for her disappearance. The money is in addition to the rewards being offered by local CrimeStoppers agencies.

Anyone with any information about Corrie's disappearance or her whereabouts is asked to call the New York State Police at 665-3113, the Greater Buffalo Metropolitan Crime Stoppers at 856-5600, or the Warren County, Pa. Crime Stoppers at 800-832-7463. All calls will be kept confidential and rewards can be collected anonymously.

Investigation Still Very Active in Corrie Anderson Case

ASHVILLE, NY (WKBW) -It's been four long years of unanswered questions for the Family of Corrie Anderson. Anderson, a devoted mother of 3 from Ashville, vanished without a trace in 2008 when she was just 36-years-old.

"She's my daughter and I'll search until I know. I'll continue to search forever," said Corrie's Mother Vicki Acquisto.

Corrie was last seen leaving the Lake County Dodge Dealership in Jamestown just after 12:30pm on October 28th, 2008. She was expected to pick up one of her children from school around 3pm but never showed up.

"These types of calls are infrequent, and when you have a mother who's history is to always been there for her children and fails to show up for them, that causes us concern," said Greg Holt, New York State Police Lead Investigator on the case.
