Child killer's final wish on course

LOUISVILLE — For four years, Marco Allen Chapman hasn't wavered about his last wish — to die by lethal injection for killing two children in a violent attack on their family.


That wish will be granted Friday night, barring a last-minute change of heart by Chapman or the Kentucky Supreme Court. Chapman is scheduled to be executed at Kentucky State Penitentiary, which would make him the first Kentucky inmate to die at the hands of the state since 1999.


"The only thing I could says is I'm sorry. Even though they shouldn't accept it, my heartfelt apologies for their loss and what I've done," Chapman told The Associated Press in May. "I'm ready. I'm ready and I'm sorry. There's nothing else I can say."

Chapman's aunt, Donna Rumburg of Mount Airy, Md., said his family is a little less certain about his decision. Rumburg, who raised Chapman for a short time, said she hasn't forgiven Chapman for what he did because it's not her place.


"But I don't say I don't love him," Rumburg said.

Family of Missing Toddler Caylee Anthony Mum on TV Reports of New Concrete Slab in Yard

The family of an Orlando toddler missing for more than a month won't answer questions about a tip that a new concrete slab was poured in the grandparents' backyard over July 4 weekend, shortly before they reported the child missing.

Caylee Marie Anthony's grandmother would neither confirm nor deny the tip about the fresh concrete received by local WFTV Eyewitness News in Orlando, according to the station.

Orange County Sheriff's detectives said they didn't know anything about the reported addition to the property, which they searched last week with cadaver dogs. The toddler was reported missing last week.

"We do yard work around our house all the time and our yard has been completely looked at," Cindy Anthony told WFTV Thursday morning. "I feel very confident. The sheriff's office knows everything that we've done in that yard over the last year. We've disclosed everything. If they had any concerns, I would think they would have followed up on it already."

Orange County, Fla., sheriff's detectives told FOX News they weren't aware of a recently-poured block of concrete.

George Anthony Set To Testify Against Casey In Front Of Grand Jury

Sources told Eyewitness News the Orange County grand jury will hear about high levels of chloroform in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car. The panel will hear how lab tests on the hair and the stain in the trunk will show that Caylee's body was in that trunk and that investigators also believe the little girl's body was at some point in the Anthony's backyard near her playhouse.

The focus on when Caylee was murdered is on the afternoon of June 16, sometime between mid-day, when Caylee's grandfather last saw her alive with Casey, and the evening, when Casey went to her boyfriend's apartment without Caylee.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- Jose Baez, the lawyer representing Casey Anthony, released his witness list Friday for her January murder trial.

The list is very short compared to the state’s list of 82 witnesses. Baez lists three witnesses who are all considered experts in their field of work.

Larry E. Daniel from Guardian Digital Forensics in Raleigh, North Carolina

Dr. Larry Kobilinsky from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York City

Dr. Henry Lee from the University of New Haven, Connecticut.

With only those three witnesses, it appears he is going entirely for reasonable doubt.  I would imagine the character witnesses will come in during the penalty phase.  This almost looks as though he concedes a guilty verdict...another ploy for appeal due to incompetence defense?

The "Additional Options" button is where I do it...I don't know if you can pick where you want it to go...I think it just pops in at the bottom of your message but I don't know..

I know there are some bad impressions of Cindy but in that interview with George where she doesn't speak, she looks like she needs a hospital bed.  It is so obvious how this stress has harmed her health.

I don't like her ways or behavior but I do feel so sorry for this tragedy that has landed on her doorstep.  Personally, I think she is totally overwhelmed with guilt, too.

Although deep down I think George recognizes the truth, he is probably doing all he can to prevent Cindy from having a total breakdown.  She looked absolutely pitiful in that clip.

I'm really hoping Des was right and there is proof via the maggots.  If they contained Caylee's DNA I just don't see how the defense can explain it away.

I am not so sure that it would show past tickets, but def ones that are currently open so its a shot in the dark, but still a shot.  You would have to go to Orange County Clerk of Courts website.  Seminole County is also very very close and sometimes its hard to tell which you are in when in Orlando area, so I would check their Clerk of Courts site as well and run that tag.

I can't believe how horrible Cindy looks in that latest photo.   I hope she's got some type of therapist or counselor.   She does not look good at all.   I'm wondering if it's the combination of grief, guilt, and the beginning of acceptance.   She needs help.  And food.

Just an observation I thought was a little odd. While watching NG last night, she was showing video of the home tour. In the bedroom I noticed an ultrasound printout hung on the wall with all the pics. An EARLY ultrasound. I thought KC didn't tell them she was pregnant for the first 7 months...but this is hanging on her wall. I guess they could have hung it later. Can't imagine she was getting prenatal care that early on. How was she paying for ultrasounds? My neighbor's daughter hid a pregnancy while living at home and did not get prenantal care. Just hit me as odd seeing that picture.  JMO ::MonkeyEek::

Dont you give him any ideas....he will start paying bums on the street to act as character witnesses!

Not one Monkey noticed that I changed from my flannel night to a jogging outfit and ... did something with my bed head hair prior to logging on this morning.

Sister-in-law got held up but ... will be picking me up shortly and ... a brisk walk around the seawall of world famous Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC is where it is at.  It is less than an hour's drive from the Fraser Valley IF we do not get caught up in the morning rush on the freeway.

Remember a couple of days ago Wens,. I think there was talk about LE being at the Anthony's for about 2 hours. IMO I think this was the day they told them look , we are not searching anymore . This information you keep putting out in the press in nonsense, and we are not going to tolerate it anymore. You can have hope , nobody is blaming you , but evidence proves otherwise.
This is when it started going downhill for them , Lawyer quit, LE says she dead. So the last thing they wait for , in the words of MB " I have not heard from the FBI , nobody has heard from the FBI.......

I think the next visit they will be getting is from the FBI , the state is no longer going to allow the Anthony's to jeapordize their case with all the BS sightings when they no they are fake. REMEMBER they had credible evidence that she was alive! BS

Yes, they can add to the list. I think, and hope this is only the expert list. The states list was not complete, as far as the public seeing who their experts will be, I'm guessing the rest of the defense witnesses will be released at a later date.

Yes.. it's claimed that nobody knew til Casey was .. 7 months?  When I was pregnant, I had ultrasound pics taken at approx 8 weeks, 16 weeks and 24 weeks.   So if Casey wasn't getting any prenatal care til the 7th month or so, that picture would have been of a much older fetus.  (Of course it's hard to know the date of that picture, or how far along she was).

Sorry to hear about the hubs.  Give him the remote and a twinky!  Will try to slow down...but you know how monkeys are after coffee!

George Anthony admits losing money to email scam
11:52 a.m. During an interview with the FBI earlier this summer, George Anthony admitted that he'd lost the family's money in an e-mail scam - something he hadn't divulged to his wife.

He told an agent he received an email that said there was $2.2 million in a foreign bank account waiting for him.

"I got involved in that..I should have known better. It was stupid," he said. "I got scammed."

Anthony was unemployed at the time, after suffering a knee injury and thought the money in the e-mail was the real deal.

"I did lie to my wife about that," Anthony said, adding that he maxed out their Mastercard and blamed it on gambling.

It's unknown how much money he lost or if it was ever recovered.

I don't know about pre-natal but I do remember Cindy saying in one of her interviews that Casey was working at Kodak/Color Vision/Universal when Caylee was born because her labor and delivery bills were paid by her insurance from there.

If I'm not mistaken, I think someone also said she didn't have much pre-natal care at all...perhaps none until that 7th month confession.  If that's the case, who was that chld in the ultrasound?

Friday, November 21, 2008 – updated: 1:18 pm EST November 21, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. -- FBI tapes released Friday reveal new information about Casey Anthony and her web of lies surrounding the disappearance of her daughter Caylee. Casey Anthony told lie after lie to her parents and even stole from her daughter's own piggy bank.

Detectives told George that they were going to find out what happened to Caylee, regardless of whether Casey or the Anthonys got hurt in the process. During the interview on July 31, they made it very clear their focus was finding Caylee.

During investigators' interview with Casey Anthony's father George in late July, he told detectives that Caylee would run to grandmother Cindy or George before running to Casey, because they were always there for Caylee.

George told investigators Casey stole money from them for years, sometimes forged deposits and even stole from Caylee's piggy bank and her savings account. Investigators said Cindy was presenting the family through rose-colored glasses, because she could not accept the reality of what Casey had become and had a hard time facing the amount of money that Casey had stolen from them.

George also told detectives how Casey would not let him near her car trunk a week after Caylee disappeared. He wanted to retrieve the gas cans she had taken from his shed.

"She's done some bad things. I started to get sick about it. I got sick. I thought I knew my daughter," George told investigators. "Casey just blows past me. 'Dad, I'll get it.' I said, 'Casey, I'm capable of getting it out.' Then she says, 'Dad, I'll get it.' And she keeps pushing her hand back.' Don't come close, you know, type deal. Finally I get back to the back of the car. She opens up the trunk and she says, 'Here's your f****** cans.'"

George said his gut feeling told him something was wrong. Caylee was not with Casey that day, June 24, and she kept telling him Caylee was fine and was with the nanny.

George told detectives Casey added the job "nanny" to her own resume, which he called her out on because she had never worked as a nanny.

George also admitted he lost thousands of dollars on an emailed UK lottery scam, something he lied to his wife about, telling her instead he had gambled it away. (he's either really stupid or lying about this and actually did gamble it away)

It was my understanding that Cindy found some papers in Casey's car with Amy's phone number on it. At least that is what she said, IIRC.

My parents knew each and every one of my friends. If I had a new friend my Mom was always ask that I bring him/her over to meet the family, come over for dinner, then again I am southern here.  I always thought it was my Mom being annoying, but now becoming a parent, and then seeing all of this I realize that she was doing it out of percaution and for my safety and her peace of mind.  I do not see how they would have not seen or heard of Amy prior.

In my experience, the person who offers way too too much information is trying to drown you with information so that you do not see what they are trying to cover up.  Why is it that Lee has all of the records and information?  Why is it that George knows so very much?  I call foul on this screen!!  FLAG PLEASE!!

According to George the resentment between Casey and Cindy started the day Caylee was born, Cindy got to hold her first.  I know we have all heard this before, as it was previously leaked, but it is intersting to hear George mention that Casey has since thrown that in Cindy's face on numerous occasions.

No doubt these guys were into Xanax and more.  Poor Caylee.

If anyone has ever known an addict well, you know that it is not only while they are "high" that they can be dangerous. The next day, the coming down, or any stage of withdrawal can be dangerous. I know someone who took a combo of pills, alcohol and possibly cocaine and the next day awoke in a violent rage. Just woke up and acted crazy. I wonder if Casey was coming down that day and Caylee was "whining" and she reacted. Just a thought RE: the drug use.

I have said it before and will continue to say it.  Xanny-bars are a "drug" of choice among college students because they are cheap, the feeling you get from them is relaxing especially after cramming for finals all week, and they can be either taken orally or snorted for a faster effect. Many parents have them in the med cabinet as medical things happen as parents get older and drugs are administered..so they are easy to come by and easy to make a quick $12.

Fast forward to when Casey was leading the police through Universal...it was evident to George and Cindy that Casey was lying on the 24th when Cindy made the drive to Universal that Casey did not work...so why would they have sat back as Casey took the LE to Universal claiming that as her work?

According to LP Casey kept "looking" around the home for her paystubs...if Cindy was as blunt as George says he married her for, then why in the heck did she not say "Casey give it up already..lets find Caylee".

Nope that would be bleach.  Some times cars leak oil onto the driveway and HOA's do not like that so you have to pressure wash it off using a chemical like bleach or close to it atleast.

George lied about when Casey borrowed the shovel.  George is saying it had to be after the 24th when the shed was broken into but it wasn't, it was before.

I think myself that they worried constantly about Casey and always suspected that one day,she would get herself in deep you know what.I also believe Casey held Caylee over their heads more than once.George said Cindy was pacing and said,"We lost her,We lost her".I find this to be a really big thing..She didn't say,George,Caylee has been kidnapped or George,we can't find Caylee and Casey doesn't know where she is..."We lost her,We lost her"..Almost sounds as if they were forewarned and their worst nightmare has come to pass...

Well this woman from her background is a professional for over 20 years representing people/organizations and her appearance on the video besides being sloppy is also not good camera presence such as looking at the camera or reporter and giving straight forward answers. Lee said that Cindy asked Casey, "What have you done?"  Apparently Cindy did not want to hear the answer.

George knew that the smell in the car was the stench of death.  So did Cindy.  So did Lee.

Yes, I agree! She has looked increasingly worse lately, it seems to me. For all their mistakes, I still have compassion for them. They obviously just do not know how to handle the media... and of course, it's the media's job to show them in the worst possible light. I don't see how people can say that she did not love Caylee. I know in my heart she did, and that is why she can't accept the truth. Yes, she wants to save her daughter... but she hangs on to the hope that Caylee will come home alive, too. My guess is Casey called him that because that's what Caylee called him, or what she wanted Caylee to call him. After a while, you just start using the name yourself.  I accidentally called my dad Uncle so-and-so one time, because I had been staying with cousins, and always referred to my dad as Uncle.  ::MonkeyConfused::     that or she was distancing herself from George, by not calling him dad.  She obviously didn't like the guy.
