Is that a "permanent" tatoo on Caylee's hand? (even if "temporary" -- inappropriate for a 2 year old!!! -IMO)

Am thinking it was a temporary one.  With as much as Casey was into tatoos, likely Caylee wanted one, and they have those that just wash off.  Also could be a hand stamp, ya know the kind kids get when they go into some fun place for a day. 

I've got a few packages still unwrapped, so I'll BBL!

Ya know, as soon as they discovered Caylee's body, LE immediately zoomed to the A's house, put crime scene tape around it and stood guard until they could get a search warrant.  As we have discussed, it had to have been something found at the scene that they knew tied the scene to the house.  I keep thinking about that, and would love to know what exactly that was!   Just a nosey nellie here....   ::MonkeyEek::   ::MonkeyHaHa::

I realize that LE very likely has info/stuff we don't know about yet, that they aren't disclosing until they are ready.  And that what we do know of is for the most part, circumstantial.  But does anyone know if Casey's own actions (during that month or so before Caylee was reported missing) would be seen by the court as circumstantial evidence, physical evidence, or neither?

 

Circumstantial for sure -- can be used to show state of mind or motive. Circumstantial evidence is still very useful --- it has convicted many. (In this day and time, though it is probably less so)

circumstantial would be my guess, and of course Bozo will try to keep it out, but I think it's admissable as it goes to state of mind. Also, remember the article that Dr. Vaas from the body farm earlier this week?? He stated that LE was on the phone with him right after the discovery of the bones and he was giving them info as what to look for that could link the scene, the home and the car together. I racked my brains trying to figure it out as it seemed to me it had to be a chemical that was discovered in the air during the testing. I started googling pesticides, fertilizers and decompostion no no avail~but, then I listened to Dana's last show ans Wendy Murphy mentioned that fertilizer speeds up decomp and also helped with the odor (IIRC exactly what she mentioned about the smell, but she did mention it). Anyway, that is one idea along with the book IMO ::MonkeyNoNo::

I am interested in LE taking the sunglasses.  They can take them apart and look for evidence even under the tiny screws.  Remember they did take soil and botany samples from the site.  Plants have DNA too.

Hello, man its been a long daya t work,    anyway, I think the reason for Le to take stuff from the Anthony;s house so quickly their had to be something that tied that house to the crime scene, something that couldnt have come from anywhere else....................also when they went back and got the shoes and stuff this last time....I believe we are gonna find out that there was a footprint impression left on the garbage bag,.,

Fibers could tie the thing together. They had the special light on at night looking for fibers in the woods. They took Casey's shoes and Caylee's shoes, clothes, etc.

Yes, they mentioned that possibility on NG this evening.  I think Dr. Perper said that there could have been an impression of a shoe print on the plastic bag.

Thanks wreck!  It sure has convicted many.  Was thinking this might be circumstantial, yet wasn't sure since they have pics of her seemingly without a care in the world.  Am thinking an overwhelming amount of circumstantial evidence would hold more weight with the court... wouldn't it?

Big time intent and to me it would take someone a "bit" smarter than Casey to figure that one out, she specifically mentioned fertilizer. I was so d@mn glad because I had been trying to figure out that link with the body farm to the house specifically. Just for instance, GA knew or even found Caylee and helped dispose or even Lee, they huddle together as a family and bingo~they could easily sneek thru the woods from the back of her house to try and cover the smell by increasing the decomp process~Just a theory and subject to change at any moment! ::MonkeyTongue::

I have a lot of respect and admiration for Dr. Perper.  Followed the whole thing with Anna Nicole Smith, and thought he did an excellent job speaking about that.  Am very glad he's sharing his thoughts on this case!  The idea of a shoe print on the bag makes sense.  I think they're trying to make sure that Casey never gets to write the book 'IF i did it'...  ::MonkeyWink::

Yep  she was stupid and luck was the only thing that saved her for as long as it took to find Caylee......I guess she did everything as simple and without thought as she could, and everybody was giving her more credit than what she was worth!!!

I sooooooooooo agree!  That's exactly what I was trying to say earlier today, that if Casey used the stuff to speed up decomp, she likely had an 'older adult' helping with that.  Cuz I really doubt that someone her age would even think of or know that info.  Seems to me anyway, cuz even if she read the container of pesticides/fertilizers, I kind of doubt it says right on there that it speeds up decomp.  lol  This actually sounds to me like it would be more up George's alley than Casey's.  And yeah, what you say about them huddling together as a family, gosh I can see it having happened thatta way, I really can!  I hear ya on how fast our theories can change.   ::MonkeyHaHa::

I swear I'm a Christian, but I despise that biatch (Lord help me~but I just can't get over what she did), also if you read my earlier post way early....around noon, I have a bad feeling she was trying to eviserate (sp) her from her life with such a hatred that I fear she may have covered her entire face in duct tape, you know kinda like an overkill. I'm reaching, but I just have a nagging feeling about that, also it wouldn't slip odd after the soft tissue was gone because your skull is larger in the center and the top and bottom portions of the tape would be a "tighter fit"....I hope I'm getting my thoughts out properly  ::MonkeyConfused::

Hiyas, Im trying to read up, and I see the As arent asking for donations now for Caylees funeral.  I wish all monkeys here a wonderful Christmas.  We had sad news today, a good friend of ours passed away suddenly at work.  It was something i had been prepared for, so I am not mourning, rather celebrate his life and be thankful I had his friendship for over 25 years.  He died fast, and he had just spent a wonderful weekend with his daughter and grandkids.
He just wouldnt slow down, doctors warned him, but he didnt listen, and altho i am sad, I am also glad he died suddenly and doing what he loved.  I know this is off topic, but I just had to mention him.  RIP Watto, and Im gonna remember you with happiness and not tears matey. 

Hugs to you Lucinda and everyone who is spending Christmas without one of their loved ones.  I hope this isn't OT but with our hearts so heavy thinking about someone taking the life of a precious baby, I thought this might bring some comfort and peace to you all.  It was written by Wanda Bencke for her handicap child that died during Christmas:

thanks bearly.  He was a real good mate of mine, and he knew he didnt have long.  He had a wonderful fullfiling life, and lots of love to give anyone, even his shirt off his back, he was just a legend.  He had diabetes, a heart condition, and he was stubborn, just loved working, he was a builder.

And notice how NOT alert these cops were 2 months since the disappearance? But this time they seemed to know it was her? Even the dispatcher went "awww" when she heard about it.

I'm sorry, Lucinda.  That is tragic (I lost my favorite uncle to complications from Diabetes - post surgery).  It's some small blessing that he died quickly, and that he was able to have those memorable times with his daughter, as unexpected as his passing was.  I'm sure we all would hope for that.  Bless you and your friend's family.

Hey HunnnY!...Im sure it had to be a combination of things, and it had to be G double O good in order to have received that search warrant back so quickly. Sooo i think it was, the clothes in the bag *assuming there are some articles of clothing in there*...Caylees book, and also since they took toys from the home, im sure there must of been toys too. I took a look again at that picture of yuri melich when hes holding something pink..now i think it was a toy from the bag. When all the monkeys first started analyzing the picture they thought it may be clothes or a dollys clothes, and i expressed my concern for that...because had it been clothes yuri could possibly be disturbing fibers on the clothing that may be found to be of evidentiary value...sooo now i think it was a toy because..holding it with gloves wouldnt compromise any fingerprints on the item if there are any left...and he looks as if hes holding it gently......JMO

Thanks, you are so comforting. From what i can see I still expect my court date to go good. Even with all thats happened with them asking for a continuance because they found the baby. But you wouldnt believe the idiots that still think i did this. but there is a god who knows who did it, and that bitch is going to have to pay for all the wrong she has done. Its not fair what some of us have had to go through because of her lies. . thank you for being here for me, you have a friend from the heart in me.

Jail details Casey Anthony's Christmas dinner plans

Christmas will be much like any other day for Casey Anthony, a spokesman for the Orange County Jail said in a statement.

Anthony, who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie, has no contact with other inmates because she is in "protective custody,'' the statement said.

"Due to her status she will not be eligible to attend any of the Christmas programs being offered by the jail's three ministries; however, she could receive a visit from a jail chaplain,'' Allen Moore, a jail spokesman, said in an email to the media.

On Thursday, she will get the same Christmas meal served to other inmates. The meal includes roast beef with gravy, buttered mashed potatoes, creamed corn, baked apple crisp, bread and butter and juice.

 "It will be brought to her in her cell. The contact cost for this [meal] and all meals in the Orange County Jail is approximately 82 cents per meal,'' Moore wrote. "Other than that [ it] will be a routine day for inmate Anthony."

Moore's update to the media also noted that she placed an additional order through her jail account. She spent $68.24, records show, on food, snacks, drinks and a sketch pad. Her inmate account now has a balance of $332.62.

thanks sweety.  I will make sure his family are OK, they are my friends.  Its really all OK, I can just feel him here with me now, he needed to go, he knew hey?  He did that trip last weekend to see his family, and he tied up a job he was working on, was his last, and he mustve known.  My husband was working with him, and driving our "truck"  Watto cut his arm, and bled all over my passenger door, and I know it sounds bad, but I cant wash his blood off the door.  This was a week ago, he cut his arm.  Now he died.  Its all OK, Im fine.

Did you listen to all three calls? I'm sure the cop was scared as well, but IIRC, Kronk said he was too, and that's why he wasn't going back there. I could be wrong.. I'll have to listen to them again. 

It's amazing, actually...  if I had the time or the inclination, I'd go back and re-read all of them. Many had bits and pieces that were spot on.  However, if you think about it, most of us are not psychics, but we probably came up with some things that were spot-on.. things we don't even yet know about.

Oh dear Mio, you don't know what you are missing. There is 2 feet of snow on the ground. And the banks are very high. When I went to the grocery store, the shopping carriage wouldn't drive through the ice. Now, this is how Christmas should be.....all frozen.
I hope that Caylee will receive a proper burial. And people who truly care about her can show their support.

the odd thing about the reporters freaking out on my daughter that day at the memorial is that I only live a few miles from the Anthony's and not one time while all these sightings of Caylee were popping up did anyone ever look at my daughter strange in the store or ask me any ????, I never thought that when I went to take Caylee a toy that I would get mobbed by the media and my daughter be known as the girl that resembles Caylee... I will tell you something pretty crazy, that night when I was putting my daughter to bed she said "mommy Caylee is playing with kitty cats in the woods but when she comes out she will get my Patrick" I have not told her anything about Caylee other than her family can't find her because she would never understand. It really pulled at my heart when she said that because she probably is playing in heaven.

lets hope it will be before. The trial wont be for a long while..you have to think, they have yet to change the venue. the defense has yet to observe the body, the crime scene, photos. Then their experts have to write their reports. They will have the the first court in March...and thats basically just a continuance, then there is the evidence hearing...it will be a while

Yes, I survived...actually, although I was sore..it may just be the catalyst that gets me working out again..unfortunately a big drawback to working on the computer is the lack of exercise..got a few pounds to knock off since I started my business back up. People were calling in so many tips. Any bag on the roadside was called in. Some bags were found with clothes and other just trash.

It is almost like the law of averages .... eventually one of these tips would pan out. I would almost bet that many people in Orlando called in multiple tips.

I listened to the meter readers call , the first one on NG and I couldn't make sense of the location. I could not visualize the location. He did mention a fence and in one of the vids from the woods, I could see a six foot fence with a house behind it. From just the vid, it looked really close to the remains location. But in a vid it is hard to judge distance.

Also it was very hard to tell if there was anywhere where she could have pulled the car into. Can't see her spending much time there if she just stopped roadside.  Except for just a toss of a bag into the woods. So, maybe my idea that she was there that June 15  night with Caylee after the fight when she was speaking to Tony endlessly is not a practical one unless there is other access where the car could have been parked without being seen.

I think the whole bomb story is the fishiest part of the entire thing.  That makes absolutely NO sense.  If there was a bomb, what was done with it?  Was the bomb squad called out?   

I think the fact that there was a string or something similar tied to whatever was buried at that time is very suspect.  I seriously think they wanted to be able to come back and retrieve the body at a later date and move it again.

Plus, she did look at a suite at Sawgrass. Her car is similar. She is questioned by OCSD and cleared by them. But not by the ANTS. Oh, they meant a different one ? Which one ?
Hope she gets enough money out of them to last a lifetime. I would sue and if Morgan didn't think he had a chance, he wouldn't have taken it. He is probably going to get one third of any settlement.

It was I believe five boys, it sure sounds rather close to where Caylee was found, and they found something in a hole, went back the next day, the LE was called. Their statements were in one of the doc dumps. I really have no idea why LE said it was a bomb. A bomb so close to a school, when there is a bomb, don't they usually call out bomb experts?

I have no idea why Casey put that doll in Caylee's car seat, but there has to be a reason for it, and I like your reason about the doll replacing Caylee. I wish we knew if that was Caylee's doll, or if originally the doll was Casey's and she gave it to Caylee to play with. If it was Casey's doll to begin with there was no way she was going to get rid of her doll.

exactly!  LE could have called animal control or whoever deals with wild critters, am sure they've been called many a time before in FL.  It makes no sense whatsoever that one or more snakes prevented the search for a missing child.  Call out the snakebusters and get this show on the road.  That they supposedly backed off and didn't do this makes me think it didn't really happen this way.

I wish LE would release the name of the cop that told the boys it was a bomb and the cop that came to see the meter reader oh and the cop that waved the lady cop off and told her it was cleared.
I don't think the meter reader has done anything wrong I think he had a feeling and it just nagging at him and he just had to keep looking.

I hope she wins big.  Casey ruined her life.  She can't get a job and she is harrassed by people who think she killed Casey.  I was in a deposition session once and the woman opposing me didn't want to answer a question but my lawyer said to her lawyer, "Will you instruct your client that she must answer every question I ask, whether she sees the relevance or not?"  Her lawyer did.  Later she had her lawyer file a request with the judge that would prevent our calling a witness who was, actually a large part of the case,.  She was practically laughed out of court.  When my lawyer talked to me before I was deposed he told me to answer every question truthfully, even if I am asked if I eat puppies for breakfast on Christmas.  I wasn't asked that, but I answered every question.  Finally my lawyer had a talk with her lawyer privately and gave her an idea of the evidence and documents we had and they immediately settled the case in my favor.  So I know that lawyers can ask anything they want in depositions, relevant or not, the the person being deposed has to answer.  So Morgan can ask Casey about anything at all, and the same with every other witness he deposes.

Recordings were just released of the calls made by the Orange County meter reader who tried to alert authorities in August about bag that officials later determined contained the remains of Caylee Marie Anthony.

The remains of the little girl were not found until Dec. 11. Orange County Sheriff's officials have said they were reviewing their response to the calls Roy Marvin Kronk made on Aug. 11, 12 and 13. The girl's body was found a short walk from the house where she lived with her mother, Casey, and her grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony.

Kronk returned to the property on Dec. 11 and called again.

In fact, when Caylee's body was first found, the teens went to the media (we read the report here) and said something to the effect, 'omg that's where we saw it! .. referring to whatever it was with the string coming up out of the ground. 

All of it together, the teens story, the weirdness from LE about the supposed bomb, the meter readers story, the weirdness from LE about the supposed snake, all of it together.. makes me think that yes indeed it's just possible that LE actually found Caylee's body earlier on, from those early reports that led them there. 

Now.. why would they have found the body and waited all this time to make that public?  I dunno.  Why didn't they include the earlier 911 calls from the meter reader, with those that they released to the public?  I dunno.  Maybe LE actually had the body since back then and left the rest at the site for a later "discovery".  Yet that makes no sense either.  Sigh.  I can't make head nor tails out of this thing.  But something is VERY odd about it all.  It just doesn't make any sense yet.

I agree with BabyBear - discovery is VERY liberal in civil cases.  But it does depend on the jurisdiction that you are in. Michigan is pretty free with what you have to answer and I believe that Florida is. The better question is where is the money going to come from if she wins?

Yep, one would think so!  In the docs it doesn't mention what they did about the supposed bomb, the comment made by LE was that it was 'just a bomb'.

I agree Stacey!  It would be very interesting indeed if it's the same responding officer each time, or at least if those officers knew Casey, had been involved with her to some degree. 

I've even wondered if there is some kind of thing going on in Orlando, that LE is involved in, and doesn't want the public to know.  Something that Casey is also involved in.  Such as prostitution or the GFE or escorts, etc. where the officers know and look the other way, or are actually involved. 

It's happened in other cities, other states, other countries, can't ignore the possibility it's happening in Orlando.  Could very well be this is going on, Casey could have been a fav, could be why LE is moddle-coddling her and the A's.  Could be this case might just break things wide open.  Could be that LE has been busy covering their asses.  And could be I'm totally way off base.   ::MonkeyWink::

Seems there has to be a reason LE is looking the other way on SO much that Casey and the A's have done, plus the weirdness about the finding of the crime scene, etc.

I have given a lot of thought to Mr. Kronk. I have almost decided he had seen Caylee's little remains back in August. I think that is all that will come out about him IF  this ever comes out. I can imagine he thought kind of like I did at times that maybe LE had found Caylee and just wasn't telling it but when he went back there Dec.11 he knew that they didn't and he made sure they came and got her that day. Bless his heart. Defense is going to give him a hard road to go.

In the second call, he seems to be referring to an earlier conversation from the very beginning.  He then talks about a tree that someone seemed to have been cutting on and a board that was placed across the tree and the white object that does not seem to belong.  This is also when he expresses a desire to remain anonymous and fears he may not be able to "If they find a freaking body."  I don't know...he sounds pretty calm to me for someone who may have seen a corpse, and it must have been pretty far back into the swamp at the time.  HE is the one who mentions a big snake.

Kronk, ZG, and JG are all good examples of why we have presumption of innocence. Although I do think ZG could probably prove her innocence, it's not totally 100% for sure that she could. How do you prove a negative? You can prove you were somewhere else, but if you don't have an alibi, how do you prove you weren't at the crime scene? It's too hard.

Casey seemed to have been using the info off this ZG's application to Sawgrass--she knew what kind of car she drove and the ages and names of her 2 kids, and put that info out early, before she changed her mind and said that ZG had no kids, etc....

I know the feeling Sharivari, I spent 4 days post surgery with my mom in early September. I wasnt a member of the monkeys yet, so I couldn't post only lurk, my mom thought I was totally crazy because I would be up reading til 2 am with my leg propped up on the printer.

it is very cold...I'm in Michigan...heh.  I tried not smoking for a day and a half and by the time family started stopping by this morning, I was sweaty and irritable...I'm such a dork.  I don't even smoke that much, I think I was just stressed out with last minute wrapping and whatnot.

I just read that post from another thread about how someone's source in LE said that that book from the video was in the bag with Caylee.  So weird and cryptic!  How sad that Caylee was maybe clinging to that book when she died.  I thought that I had heard before that "Mama", Caylee's doll, HAD been Casey's when she was a kid.  Does anyone else remember hearing this or was it a different toy?

Shari, I had heard that too about Mama. There is a picture of Casey by a Christmas tree when she was little. She is holding a doll identical to Mama. So it is possible she was Casey's doll first.

I also think the infamous book she was reading on June 15, that was apparently found at the remains site (in the bag?) belonged to Casey as a child. It was published in the mid-80's I believe. Casey was born in 1986.

If you have his social security number, you should be able to search that database.  You might try a state by state drivers' license search, too, as he's 17.  pipl.com comes up with some good stuff, including things like Amazon wish lists and the like.

There are very few teens these days who don't have some sort of internet presence, be it Facebook, MySpace, or whatever.

Like she said, I'm still here FWIW.  :)  I'm having a very difficult pregnancy and I'm only in wk 15.  I have Hyperemesis Gravidarum and it stinks, makes it difficult to find the joy in anything really.  I sent my husband and son to my inlaws 2 hr's away so they could enjoy it since we didn't do a thing here at the house so I'll be alone through tomorrow evening when they get back.  I feel bad that I didn't even get Santa pics for my 19mo but I just couldn't manage it.  I've sworn to do it huge next year to make up for it though.  Think Griswolds.

That still wouldn't make sense, really. I mean, is it a "bomb," in the sense of a failure, if what you find isn't a dead body? It might make sense to say that to LP or Tim Miller, but not to some school kids. And I think a reporter would definitely have clarified this if there was any possibility that LE didn't mean the word bomb literally.

The officer might have said it was nothing and then the kids translated it to being a bomb, like a dud or something. Or maybe LE even referred to it as such. No telling with this case. The way things have been going it might have been a real explosive bomb and they just left it there,,,,,,just joking.

I am here now.  One son flies in tomorrow, arriving around noon.  The other comes with his family the next day, so we will have our Christmas dinner on Friday.

I am thinking now of the meter reader saying there was a tree that someone appeared to have cut and a board, too.  I think this was Casey's attempt to hide the body without having to bury it.  Digging in that kind of brush and mud would have been hard.  I think she put the bag/body on the ground and tried to get a small tree to fall over it and maybe found a board and put that over it to hide it and also to weigh it down.  I also am thinking of Cindy saying that boots were in the car.  I have seen pix of Casey wearing boots, which seem out of place in Florida, but I am sure people wear them there, and I think maybe she wore the boots to protect her feet and legs from the brush, the mud and possibly the snakes.

You have a Merry Christmas, we will be leaving soon to have our Christmas Eve dinner at the Olive Garden, and then off to look at Christmas lights.

I've tried everything, this will be my third pregnancy with it.  Lost my first to it years back.  The second pregnancy we were able to manage the HG but I lost 40lbs. by the end.  With this one, it seems so much worse than the others.  I've lost 26 lbs., 6 in the last week alone.  I hadn't eaten since Friday but the doctor called in Zofran yesterday and I got some food in me today.  If it's out there I've tried it - accupuncture, accupressure, massage, energy work, meditation, ginger, teas, phenegeran, benadryl, cinnamon, peppermint, mint.  Nothing works.  I'm trying to avoid the Zofran pump,the site has to be moved every week.  The other option is a PICC line which isn't any more attractive.  I ate today, so far I'm up to 250 calories.  A few more popsicles and jello cups and I should make 500!  LOL 

While I'm sorry you had it, it's comforting someone really understands what I'm feeling.  I get really tired of the glib "Oh, I was sick to..."  yeah, but not this kind of sick....  And it only gets worse the further along I get.  I'm trying to stay out of the hospital and my perinatologist is montoring it carefully.  Checking for severe dehydration and ketones and such.  I keep telling myself I only have 25 more weeks to go - I can do this!  Ugh.

Casey Anthony's Zenaida Claim Inspired by TV Show?

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Channel 9 has learned that investigators are looking at whether a popular TV show may have provided Casey Anthony with the inspiration she needed to create a story about Caylee’s disappearance.

Computer records given to Eyewitness News showed Casey did a Google search for "One Tree Hill's” 100th episode", right before Caylee disappeared.

That episode just happens to be about a nanny kidnapping a child.

Legal analyst Bill Sheaffer believes this could be a critical piece of evidence the state will use in this case against Casey.

“The story of the plot line is so similar and that is the story she originally came out (with). And it’s the story she continues and continues to stick with,” said Sheaffer.

In March, 3 months before Caylee disappeared, Casey’s computer records show she was researching how to make chloroform, household weapons, and neck breaking.

In between those searches Casey was looking up the 100th episode of “One Tree Hill.”

“It goes to serve two issues one premeditation for the death of the child and two it serves as a basis for this incredible story that the imaginary baby-sitter kidnapped and killed the child,” said Sheaffer.

Casey told investigators the nanny-- Zenaida Gonzales kidnapped Caylee. Detectives said they will definitely look into the information and this will most likely help in the case against Casey.

Aww Hudsunn, you're very sweet.  Thnx so much.  It is really hard and it's exacerbated by the fact that so little is kown about it and it's rarely mentioned.  It's a pregnancy disease kind of like preeclampsia except it's very rare and only affects 2% of pregnant women.  Most doctors discount it as really bad morning sickness but it's so much more so you have to have a doc who treats it aggressively.  Others have it worse than I do but at any level, it's really challenging.

The support means a lot to me.  Thnx again.

A grand jury indicts the mother of missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony with first-degree murder. 


 

 


ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- Calls made by a meter reader to an 911 emergency dispatcher in August could aid in the defense of murder suspect Casey Anthony, according to some legal analysts.  The 22-year-old is accused of killing her daughter,  Caylee Marie.  Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, might be able to demonstrate that mistakes were made by the Orange County Sheriff's Office. 

But analysts also say that even though the little girl's remains were not recovered until four months after those calls were made, it would not disprove that Caylee was murdered.

"I noticed something that looked white and there was ... I don't know what it is. I'm not telling you it's Caylee or anything of that nature," Roy Kronk told a dispatcher on August 11, one of three calls he made over a three-day period.

Questions prosecutors must now answer are how did Caylee die and what were the circumstances surrounding her death.   The defense team will have to make a case of reasonable doubt about when the remains were placed in a wooded area off Suburban Drive in East Orange County and by whom.

"There is a difference between doubt and reaonable doubt.  It has to be a strong doubt to say, 'I would be able to sleep at night.'  I think failure to respond is something that a jury would find 'hard to sleep at night,' " said criminal defense attorney Richard Hornsby, referring to the Orange Sheriff's Office's response to the calls made by Kronk.

There has been no challenge from Baez yet, but he has been critical of the handling of this case by investigators.

According to dispatch reports, on August 11, a deputy spent about five minutes on the scene where Caylee's body was eventually recovered.
On August 12, a seven-minute search was conducted, and on August 13,  a deputy surveyed the area for about twenty-four minutes.  In all, a little over half an hour was spent investigating tips which could have settled the mystery as to Caylee's whereabouts months ago.

Hornsby said the facts could present a case for missteps, but likely would not lead to a mistrial.  "They just need to explain this.  They need to say, 'hindsight is always 20/10.'   He initially called when they were getting thousands of calls at the time. It was no different than any of the other calls we were getting."


Baez requests delay of defamation trial

In other developments, documents were filed in the case of Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez versus Casey Anthony.

A woman with the name of the babysitter whom Casey claimed abducted Caylee, filed a defamation lawsuit several weeks ago, claiming Anthony "ruined her good name."

On Wednesday, Baez filed papers asking a judge to delay the case and Casey's deposition until after her criminal trial.

Casey is spending her first Christmas behind bars.  Even though she will not be able to attend any holiday events at the Orange County Jail, she has received a special meal including:  roast beef with gravy, buttered mashed potatoes, creamed corn, baked apple crisps, bread and butter and juice.  The total cost of the meal is about  82 cents.   

A pretrial hearing for Casey is scheduled for January 15.
 

Wow...that is amazing.  Casey was such a computer-holic.  She did everything online.  You would think she would have been more savvy about what is stored on a computer, but it is surprising how even some real computer geeks take huge chances.  I once taught at a school where our computer tech, a nice and quiet and very intelligent young man, used his work computer to hook up with underage girls.  One day the FBI showed up and took his computer.  It, as well as his home computer, were chockful of attempts to meet your girls, age 12 or 13.  Thankfully, he never bothered anyone at our school, but he did arrange a meeting with a "girl" who turned out to be an FBI agent at a local mall.  He got arrested there.  We all marveled at how someone so smart with computers would leave such an incriminating online trail.  I think the internet is second nature to these types, like their hands or mouths.  They cannot live without the computer.  Indeed, we all depend on them so much, but if I were going to commit a crime, I doubt I would research it online first.

I'd be very surprised if there was a real bomb buried there and nothing more was ever said about it by the media or LE. Would like to see something official on it besides a video of the boys talking about how they dug into the ground with their hands until encountering some sharp objects.
