Well, I'm sorry I missed the late night fun last night, but since I'm leaving for work in a few and you guys just went to bed not too long ago, it's a good thing I did - I doubt I would have been able to pull myself away with all of those great jokes.

DUI - NORTH CAROLINA STYLE

Only a person in North Carolina could think of this. From the county where drunk driving is considered a sport, comes this true story.

Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a bar in Kinston, North Carolina after last call the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so apparently intoxicated that he could barely walk. The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity in which he tried his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his car and fall into it.

He sat there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off. Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on and off--it was a fine, dry summer night--, flicked the blinkers on and off a couple of times, honked the horn and then switched on the lights. He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little and then remained still for a few more minutes  as some more of the other patrons' vehicles left.

At last, when his was the only car left in the parking lot, he pulled out and drove slowly down th e road. The police officer, having waited patiently all this time, now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over and administered a breathalyzer test. To his amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no evidence that the man had consumed any alcohol at all! Dumbfounded, the officer said, I'll have to ask you to accompany me to the police station. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken."

"I doubt it," said the truly proud Redneck. "Tonight I'm the designated decoy."

They called me today wanting to no how many kids were in his class because they were going to send them all and one. I haven't seen this on there site and am curious anyone can buy these......

Sorry, I don't know anything about TES bracelets, nor do I see it on their website.  The site is new, so I'm not sure if it's completely updated.  Are these just fundraiser bracelets?   

My guess is it's somethng they give to volunteers that help them search. 

I don't know, I just rec'd a call from them inquiring about the # of students in his class (his class came to his birthday party) because they wanted to send them bracelets. I guess I'll find out soon enough as they are mailing them today ::MonkeyDance::

That make sense - I just never heard of them before, but am thrilled to be receiving one ::MonkeyTongue::

Y'all, I'm thinking that I'm going to take some beginning ballroom dance lessons. Has anyone ever done that? I'm sort of old, but I'm still pretty spry, and I think it would be good exercise. Does anyone have any advice on the subject?

I took ballroom dancing and actually every type of dancing including tap when I was a child.

You will LOVE the ballroom dancing class.  Follow it up with latin or cha cha or whatever they call the class.  HAVE FUN!

The Weather is quet right this minute, thank you all for being concerned.  One time it waqs storming at 2:00 in the morning.  The sirens were going off.  I was scared, so I went to my roommates room.  I said "the sirens are going off, we under a tornado warning"  and he said, "nothing I can do about it".   So, I went and curled up in the bottom of the linen closed by myself.   He is a farm boy!!!

BT....I have ballroom danced for years...I taught for Arthur Murray years ago.....it's great fun and good exercises....and very social...go for it!!  Age makes no difference!!  I am OLDER than you and I still love it!  Especially the Latin dances.  In my younger years I even got to dirty dance with Patrick Swazye one time ::MonkeyDance::

JuJu~I know how you must feel, I was laid off in Dec of 07, but I when I started looking for jobs, I was blessed enough to end up with a better job and living ont he beach. In my case, it was the best thing that ever happened, I know that sounds crazy, but God had different plans for me and far better than I could have ever imagined.

Oopd forgot~You will qualify for a chit-load more unemployment insurance under the disatrous pork filled, 1 trillion dollar spedning POS crap package stimilus.

I'll hold your hand A1~ I remember all too well from last February 5th when over 100 tornados broke out, Memphis and the surrounding area and so many others where smacked hard. But, we had a tornado emergency early on, and when I looked that up, it scared me to death, and by that evening I realized they had done the right thing by scaring us to death. I was on the phone with my dad while he and my mom were in the closet and Jackson, TN was hit by a F-4 (3x's in 8 yrs). We all were unscathed, but when we ventured out we were shocked to see how close we all were ::MonkeyNoNo::

I know from personal experience how mysteriously God works....I was always planning on moving due to my son's situtation, but it was like God gave me a little shove and that was all I needed. I can't tell you how drastically our lives have changed, and for the better. JuJu, along with so many other monkeys are in my prayers tonight.

Well at least Always1 seems to be snoozing and I checked the radar and it looks like she is in the clear according to NWS. I know how frightening storms can be to people.

I call it God's handwriting, because "coincidences" that turn adversity into Blessings are as distinctively His as unique handwriting. The walls of my life are beautifully painted with them! I didn't hire the painter, it was a gift!!

While you have storms brewing, we had spring like weather here in NJ with temps in the 60s.  Was out in the yard with the dog (our BT) and she barked at something on the back road.  I couldn't see what it was.  Older son entered the yard and a UPS driver stopped.  He pointed to a tree on the other side of the road.  A cub was sitting up on a limb. 

I have pics but have to resize them.  Will post later, once I get that done.

We had a mother bear with 5 cubs around here most of last year.  We thought maybe this could be one of her cubs, but didn't see her or the others around.  I didn't stick around to watch it, but son said it limped toward our neighbor's house down the road.  We were thinking it might have been hit by a car.  Don't know. 

This area is loaded with them.  Pretty to look at, but not when you are in your yard and they weigh 600 lbs and are walking toward you.  Happened to me twice last year. 

Our BT is fine.  She's in.

I did not a Mama could have 5 cubs!! That would scare me to death to see a bear walking towards me!! 

I remember camping with a bunch of freinds years ago when I was in college, the Ranger came by our campsite and told us to put our food and coolers in our cars because their was a Mama and her cub around!  I got kinda nervous and was afraid to go pee in the woods!!   ::MonkeyShocked::  ::MonkeyWink::

Well, I'm afraid to go out of the house when no one is home.  They scare me.

I want to add that I have 2 neighbors, one on each side of our home, that call me when they know they are around.  It's nice to have someone warn me, just in case.   ::MonkeyWink::

Oh yes. They're inseparable companions.

When I used to live on another canal, all the neighbors would warn each other about alligators.  They love dogs and cats for a little snack.  Thank goodness, we have only seen one alligator in 7 years on this canal!!    ::MonkeyEek::

When I was in Atlanta for my training, a ton of work got piled up on my desk, so now I'm wayyyy behind. Well, Monday I had to spend all day getting ready for two big meetings I had to hold on Tuesday. We had Policy Council meeting on Tues morning, then Health Services Advisory Council meeting after that. Health Services is a lunchtime meeting, so I didn't even get a lunch break. Today we had a Management meeting that started at 9:00, and we had to meet with someone from our Regional office. As soon as that was over, I had to meet for 2.5 hours with a committee that's revising our forms.

Tomorrow when I go in I have to have two more meetings, then plan for a meeting I'm having on Friday.

Would y'all say I've had enough meetings for one week? All that work is piling up on my desk while I sit in meetings and run my mouth.  ::MonkeyNoNo::

I work at a Head Start program. I supervise the piece of the program that makes sure the kiddoes all get a dental exam, a physical exam, get all the treatment they need, and that their parents are being trained in what's healthy for the kids. We have 984 low-income kiddies, ranging from 6 wks old to 5 yrs old.

Hello everybody, tonight before I start with the no topics here in the musing thread, I need some advice because Im am starting to feel bad about a decission I made, and I am hoping someone here could help me to know if it is the right one or if Im gonna regret it,

   Ok now, About 4 years ago I got to be the proud momma of a beautiful yellow lab that my ex-boyfriend named Cupcake,   At the time me and my ex had been dating for about 5years and he lived in Daytona and we were always going out on the boat and he wanted a dog to take out with us and so we got Cupcake...she loves the water and she loved my ex......now a little over a year ago we broke up and He is in Daytona and I am here with cupcake which has grown to weigh in at a whopping 108lbs, I live alone with my daughter and we have so much going on that Cupcake no longers gets to go out on the ocean or anywhere else, and she is really to big for us to handle,  I have a good friend that lives in Daytona right by the beach and Joe is a dog lover and has known cupcake since she was a puppy, and he recently lost his two beautiful dags that he had for seventeen years one passed away in Aug and the other in Nov.  He is ready now for another Dog to love as he is single and says he wants another dog and last night after much soul searching I decided in a couple of weeks that Im gonna take cupcake to live with Joe and be his buddy and roommate...Joe will let cupcake stay inside and take her to the beach every sunday and I know she would Love this.....Also I would get to visit her anytime I wanted to........I am starting to feel bad because I dont want Cupcake to feel like we dont Love her, I just want a better life for her..................Do I sound stupid or am I making the right decession, I'd like for some of the other Dog lovers to please help me know!!!

Then there was the time that my son's baseball team was on an away trip, and my friend got her "monthly visit".

We headed out to find a store and soon arrived at an old Piggly Wiggly grocery. We couldn't find tampons, so we asked the cashier where the tampax were.

The cashier grabbed the microphone, and called for "Roy" to grab a pack of tacks and bring them to casier #3. My friend and I were beginning to go into hysterics laughing, when she covered the mic with her hand to ask us if we wanted the kind you push in or hammer!!!!

OK - A few years ago, my son was in play at school!!  After the play, they were serving refreshments and snacks.  I got up to help.

I took the cup, filled it with ice asked the child what he/she wanted to drink!  Then I slowly poured it in, so not to have to much foam!!

After a few minutes, another Mom came over and kind of moved me out the way. She filled all cups with ice and poured poured poured, The she winked at me!

I am not longer allowed to do refreshments!!  It has become the big joke for us Mom's.  ::MonkeyHaHa:: ::MonkeyHaHa::

Hey CBB! Well this isn't exactly embarrassing but maybe more of a blonde moment:

After a few months of trying out the whole tampon thing, my mom went to Sam's Wholesale club and bought me a box of 40 tampons.  She got home and gave them to me...i handed them back to her and told her I wear size 20 and she would need to return them! 

And now you know the rest of the story....!!!

True story - my friend was having an "issue" with her sex life and I went with her to the pharmacy because someone had suggested Horny Goat Weed to her.  We go to check out the cashier...with the most serious face...looks at her and says "Either there is a problem with your husband or your lawn mower is broke"!!!

I've never laughed so hard!!

(P.S. don't waste your money...it didn't work according to her)

OK, here's one for you, Me and my friend was walking around the store buying groceries when we saw a woman that my friend didnt like, my daughter was about three and was sitting in the cart as you know facing us and heard every word my friend and I said about the woman, which my friend also called a bi!ch,  Later we were in the check out line waiting to pay and all of a sudden since my daughter was facing towards us and could see behind us, she started saying Mom there's that woman yall dont like, yep there that Bi!ch right there, talking really loud because we were trying to ignore her, I could have just died, needless to say, we never talked about anybody again in front of her!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to add something funny since you guys are talking about personal thingies for women..
when one of my 8 brothers was small about age 10 I sent him to the corner store to get me pampers.. he came back all excited because he got a   bunch  for cheap...

OK, about 8 years ago my husband and I attended our cousins wedding.  At the wedding they had the tables set up with disposable cameras so that guests would take random pics of the reception.  Good idea.

Well I got ahold of one of the cameras and went to take a pic but had the camera backwards, so the flash went off right in my eye eluminating my head (must have looked like Wreck).  I started cracking up and said to my husband "did you see that", LOL?  He said , LOLOL  yes!  He will never let me live that down!  Yes I am blonde and NO I wasn't drunk  ::MonkeyHaHa::

A tip for my thong wearing monkeys....I used to wash my undies with my pants for work.  One day my 68 year old boss walks by my desk, bends down and picks something off the floor.  He then looks at me and says "here honey I think you dropped your scrunchie"! 

My thongs must have gotten stuck in my pant leg and fell out...I was mortified!!!

I always wash my undies seperate from my pants now!!!

I was going out of town for a few days and had just bought 4 new fish for the aquarium. They came with a 24 hour guarentee and 2 had died. I asked if she would return them for me while I was gone, and she said no problem.

When I got back, I thanked her for looking after things and replacing the fish. She said that the store had tried to give her a hard time, but that in the end, she got the fish replaced and they apologized. I was puzzled because I'd always had a great experience with "Pet Cove."

Later that evening, I found the paper bag she had transported the fish home in. It was from "Pets R Us".  Having seen my Mom when she felt she was in the right, I'm sure they would have given her the store if she would just LEAVE!!!!

My sister is very cute and very funny!!  She is a typical "A"  type personality.  Mis over achiever at everything she does!!

She is an RN but is in "Management" and also teaches CPR classes for extra money!

Her classes are great and she as a waiting list!!

Ok, so she is at giving her CPR class for a bunch of teachers.  She has them in the palm of her hands.  They are lauging and learning.

Then she bent over the dummy to demonstrate - and tooted really loud!!!

My sister-in-law had her little neice over one night and everywhere she went the girl followed her, she just couldnt get away from her, so she had went into the bathroom and before she could finish the little girl opened the door and just had to go in where she was, well  nothing was said at the time but a couple of hours later when her Mother came to pick her up, we noticed that she kept trying to get her Mothers attention because she wanted to whisper something to her, finally she leaned over and said what do you want to tell me thats so important, The little girl looked at my SIL and then back at her Mother and said, I was trying to tell you something is wrong with Aunt Cynthia, she has a string hanging out her butt!!!!!!!

OK, so my MOM told me never to sit on a public bathroom seat!!

Many years ago, my old BF took me out to dinner at very nice restaurant for Valentine's Day.  We couple of drinks while waiting for our table then after we got seated I needed to use the Ladies room.

So I go in and did not sit on the seat, as usual!  Only this time, I peed all over the back my pants!!   ::MonkeyShocked::

I had to stand in front of those hand dryers for like 10 minutes trying to get them dry.  I wonder what he thought I was doing in there the whole time!!  LOL   ::MonkeyWink::

I thought I just did it...then went and looked in the mirror...yep it was me!  Then decided is was a good idea to put my "sleep number" on my Plenty-Of-Fish account!  we will see what happens!!

I was trying really hard to teach my three year old to get a kleenex when he needed to clean his nose. It seemed important to me, because for some reason he always brought his boogers to ME!!!

One day, we were running late for an appointment, and while I was driving he said from the backseat car seat, "Here Mom!" Sure enough, he had a booger on his finger. I was fussing and driving, and searching in my pocketbook for a kleenex, and asking him why he didn't blow his nose before we left. When  finally found a kleenex, I said, OK.........where is it?

He looked up at me in the rear view mirror with his lower lip out and said, "I put it back...."

Many years ago, I had a date with this hot singer from a local popular ban!!  And I was the date from HELL!!

We went to a local bar, where many of my friends where!! During the night, they kept sending me over shots!! And I got drunk!  ::MonkeyWink::

We go back to his nice sports car!  He opens the door for me, I reach over to unlock his door and ripped off the whole lock.

Then I go to lite a cigarette. I push in hs lighter, waited a few, the ripped off his stereo knob to lite my cigarrette.

Then I lost the lit cigarette in his car!!  After I finally found it, I told he may need to pull over, I think I am going to throw up!  ::MonkeyShocked::

OK so I went out with same guy all through highschool and my first 2 years at college!!

Well the summer I broke up with him, I was cocktail waitressing at a local fun spot.  And he knew I worked there.

He decided to bring his "date"  in there to rub it in my face.  I acted all cool and like I didn't bother me at all.  Truth was, my heart was beating so fast and I was so jealous! 

So I am acting all cool, doesn't bother me phony attitude, flirting and joking around with some other guys.  Then  I came out with a tray of fresh Strawberry Margaritas!  A guy accidently hit my tray and up it went and spilled all down my shirt, all down my skirt, all down my legs!!

I looked up and he was watching me!  I could have died!  I gave him a smirk and a wink and went in clean up for almost 20 minutes.  Those little strawbeery seeds are a pain in the a$$!!!

My friends still like to tease me about that one!!   ::MonkeyWink::

My oldest son always had perfect enunciation even at a very young age.  Also had a set of lungs on him so his voice carried and there was no doubt what he was saying.

We were living in southern Illinois at the time and had a couple come to visit and took them out to eat after Church.  Hubby just loved a little hole in the wall café but the husband of this couple had recently had heart surgery and so I was concerned about his diet

I mentioned that while the food was quite tasty, they did use a lot of seasoning meat and could be greasy at times.  Well, you guessed it.

We arrive and the Sunday crowd is chowing down, could hear a pin drop, nothing but the sound of utensils and the place is packed.  The waitress comes over and asks to take our order.

My son booms "Hi, there!  My MOM says you have real GREASY food here.  Just greasy, greasy, greasy!"

I think every head in the place turned to see this Mom who said such a thing.  My son seemed to think greasy was something good and he had done a good thing in sharing what his mom had to say about the menu.

I just wanted to melt and pour through the floor.

when i was home from college for the summer i worked in the main branch of a very large bank. it was housed in a converted mansion and had a huge lobby where the tellers were and all the customers who wanted to visit the higher ups offices and departments had to walk thru.

one afternoon when things had slown down, a lady came out from the far side of the first floor on the opposite side of the exits. she must have just left the ladies room, and she walked very slowly with  her nose in the air as she was a vip(well in her mind anyway). as she passed in front of us we all had to do a double take. sure enough, shed accidently tucked her skirt and slip into her pantyhose, and the toilet paper had gotten stuck too and was trailing along behind her and her exposed fanny  on the floor.

everyone was so agog that she just sailed out in total oblivion, but she obviously had no clue and didnt feel the draft.

When we were first married, we rented an apartment from a successful interior decorator named Lyle.  Not too long after we moved in, an absolutely hideous concrete fountain with angel appeared in the ffront lawn.  More like a bird bath sprouting.

I encountered a lady who shared the adjoining apartment soon after and proceeded to comment on the true ugliness of the fountain and how shocked I was that Lyle would have such a tacky thing on the premises, etc.  His taste was usually so much better, blah, blah, blah.

So imagine my surprise when she calmly replied "That's my statue."

Not much left to say at that point.

I worked with a gay guy for years and we became really good friends. I kept hearing about the parties at the gay bar, and wanted to go dancing, so he took me on a Halloween.

I was determined to act like there wasn't anything unusual about me being there, and I was having a blast! I'd had a good bit to drink, when this guy started hanging around and becoming a bit of a nuisance to us both. So in my best "I know all the slang" voice, I referred to him as a goblin.................................

OK - one last story!! 

Many years ago, I went to Las Vegas for work.  It was my very first time ever going there and I was so excited.

As we went seeing to the different hotels, I picked up some hand creams. matches and ashtray or two for souvenirs!! 

Later that night, I was playing BlackJack with a bunch of guys!  Some how, a hot ash must have fallen in my purse, we started to smell the smoke, then we saw smoke coming from my purse!  The next thing ...the whole thing went up in flames right in the casino.  I quickly dumped out my purse..........and the ashtrays, creams and matches from the various hotels spilled out all around!!  The smell of burnt plastic was in the that air.   ::MonkeyShocked::

All the Pit Bosses came a running!!   ::MonkeyWink::

The guys at my table teased me all night!!  I won over a $1000.00 that night and only started with $150.00!!   ::MonkeyWink::
