Thanks Lucky~I swear, they had to give him verced (tranquilizer basically) in a drip to keep him from moving around so much.........even the neonatologist said he'd ever seen a baby sick with pnuemonia that wasn't listless, he was squirming even then, the doc said that means he has a fighter's spirit. So far today his white blood cell count is back to normal and he is very stable. Thank God to everyone sending prayers!

So do I and the media w/NEVER back off the aforementioned case - really wish the media and the public would not give up on finding Haleigh and bringing in the
person(s) who KNOW what happened to her!

 Klass, with your experience following cases, why does the media back off coverage?  Is it lack of leads, someone asks them to? 

Yes, it makes you wonder what would have happend to Caylee. Thank God, she was found. Too sad for the ones that aren't & their families.

I hope this is ok.  A post from the last thread.  I agree with the last post.

something else about this case that Ive noticed, and that is that it has never been mentioned in the enquirer  or globe or any of those kinds of  things either, Ive looked every single month and never has it been mentioned.....weird...

We did go back on the evening that Haleigh disappeared and looked at the monitoring and he was within his home zone,” Hardy said.  Hardy said Loucakis was arrested Wednesday night after violating the restrictions of his “home zone.” Loucakis is under GPS monitoring and law enforcement was informed that he was not at his own home during the 10:00pm-6:00am curfew window as required. Hardy said they do know where he was, due to the GPS monitor, and they plan to do a precautionary search of that area.Hardy also said Loucakis was the first sex offender in the area interviewed immediately after Haleigh’s disappearance and said his home was searched.

This was Feb. 19th date of article....so he must have checked out as we have not heard much more from Sherifff on him.

Thanks starcat, what a dirty shame this all is.     IM so glad to hear the little one is doing so much better, what a fighter, he is going to do something big with his life.     HH, you are right, I have not seen anything about Haleigh in the tabloids at all, strange.

Does anyone recall the news clips, of rc and misty, on the first of 2nd day of Haleigh being missing,,,..misty and rc were walking, they were in unison step, and both smoking at same time.. As they walked, there is a tall, hefty black man that walks behind them..
My question is, does anyone know who this man is??  mio

very good article..sadly, I agree that all this infighting has taken away from Haleigh...shame on them for doing that..this could have all gone on behind the scenes....the same outcome will come of it...either Ron will be declared unfit and Crystal will get custody of the kids or else the kids will remain with Ron...None of this dirty laundry being aired has helped in the search for Haleigh IMO...I can't recall any other case of a missing child off the top of my head where the parents of said missing child has acted this shamefully...they have been mostly respectful of the child  and each other and didn't use the opportunity to "get" back at each other...jmo...

Another thing that I was wondering...remember the picture of Haleigh where some think that she has bandages on her hands...(I don't think they are) ...does any smart monkee have another picture of her on that day with the same clothes on that may or may not show her without what ever was on her hands? or could it be blown up to show a closer view? I am not good at any of that stuff or I would have done it myself...

IM...so happy that babe is doing well...

gotta go...having dear grand daughters 6th birthday party today...and may I just say that I am so grateful that I have her,  I thank God every day for her and my other grand kids...She is around Haleigh's age and whenever I hug her, I give her an extra squeeze for Haleigh's parents who can't hug her right now .....hope that they get the chance again and soon...

Haliegh Cummings: Greg’s first interview, talks Misty to Art Harris

search_286_20090213115015589_320_240SATSUMA, Fla.–He’s been called the mystery man who holds the key to unlocking the secrets of Misty (then Croslin), and the conflicting timelines she’s given in the days and hours before Haleigh Cummings, age 5, went missing from the trailer where the 17 year old babysitter claims they were sleeping. Then, amid rumors about Misty and her mystery man, she married Haleigh’s father, Ronald, 26–and the couple stopped talking publically.

His name is Gregory Page, 28, aka White Boy Greg, an aspiring, graphic designer and single father of two with big time dreams who has been plagued by drug arrests and stints in the county jail for possession.

So far, he’s kept his own counsel, aghast at talk show hosts begging him to call and jack up ratings, rants he blames for sending his mother to the ER with a stroke, and his five year old into a tantrum of tears, as his mug shot flashes across the TV screen in Palatka, Florida.

He’s spoken in depth to police about his time with Misty, investigators confirm, his mother, and an outside private eye and bounty hunter named William Staubs, who goes by the street name, Cobra.

“I’m light-complected, had a white father and my mother is black, so they call me ‘White Boy’ on the street,” Page tells me in his first media interview that can be heard exclusively on artharris.com.

In that interview, Page tells me he did have a “fling” with Misty the weekend before she reported Haleigh missing, but was not with her that Monday night.

“Only a fool would be at another man’s house, laying up with his girlfriend,” he tells me on in a phone call he agreed to let me tape. “It was a brief little fling, not like no love or anything, no relationship, (just) like ‘how ya doin.’”

“I was with the girl that weekend,” he says, describing a three day party of sex, cocaine, pot and pills. Only in the last two weeks did he learn about his public notoriety with Misty, “when a neighbor read your website and told my mother…I was startled….”

But Page adamantly denies he’s the mysterious “black man in black” with “squeaky” shoes who Haleigh’s, baby brother, Junior, age 4, reportedly told his mother, great grandmother, and police he’d seen in the trailer that night. According to the reports, Junior said the man had made the couch “bounce” and took his sister.

Page believes he was scapegoated over his drug arrests to divert attention from Misty and Ronald Cummings, where he believes the truth lies. Shortly after Haleigh vanished, Page says he sat down with Putnam County Detective John Merchant, the lead investigator, laid out the details, took a polygraph and was told he passed.

Sources close to the case confirm he’s not a suspect, and that Misty also told police they’d been together.

Says Page: “I wish I could tell you what happened. I’ve got two kids the same age (as Haleigh and Ronald, Jr.), but I don’t know. I feel real bad for the family.” And William Staubs, aka Cobra, says he’s talked to Page for hours, checked out his story, and is convinced he’s telling the truth about that weekend and any Haleigh connection.

Playing cupid that weekend: a Kristina Prevatt, 18, who everyone calls “Nay Nay.” She says she introduced Misty to Page. Soon everyone was eager to get the party started, say both Page and Prevatt, and soon everyone was high, including Misty.

“Cocaine?” I ask Page.

“Yeah, he says, “and pills, all kind of shit.”

“What kind of pills?”

“Roxies, and all that,” says Page.

“What are ‘roxies?’” I ask.

“It’s a breakthrough for Oxycontin,” Page explained. “I’m not going to lie to you, I do a little drugs, but I’m going to straighten up.”

After the news broke about Misty as the witness at the center of the missing child, Page’s mother, Lyn, tells me, “I asked (Greg), ‘Did you go to bed with that girl?’ And he said, he had, three times.’”

Page believes some may have used Junior’s purported “black man in black” siting to hype his drug history and divert attention from Misty and Ronald Cummings, where he believes the truth lies. (Remember cousin Joe in Tennessee, the Cummings’ family prime suspect who has dropped off police radar?) Shortly after Haleigh vanished, Page says he sat down with Putnam County Detective John Merchant, the lead investigator, laid out the details, took a polygraph and was told he passed.

Their fated encounter began, as Prevatt tells artharris.com in an exclusive interview, when she took a frantic call from a distraught Misty who reported she’d just been in a terrible fight with Ronald. He’d exploded in rage when she informed him she was pregnant, says Nay Nay, who believes it was a ruse to pressure him.

“She showed me the pregnancy tests,” says Prevatt, “it was positive, but I think it was her sister’s. She was in love with Ronald and wanted him to marry her. She said she can’t leave him because she said he gives her what she wants.”

If Cummings did believe her, he wasn’t buying paternity.

“She said he kept calling her a ‘whore, that it wasn’t his baby, a ‘n— lover’ because she hangs out with me, and my baby Daddy is black….He dropped her off at her brother’s house, but kept her clothes. She ran down the road and called me and I picked her up.”

So it began, the wild weekend. But as Page’s mother clarifies and an astute reader confirms with Prevatt’s traffic tickets in a post, the teenagers were hanging out at least as early as Feb. 3, when Prevatt says they started cruising in her blue Lincoln, which clipped a truck at an intersection; Nay Nay kept driving.

No one was hurt but Prevatt confirms she left the scene; the other driver called 911 and cops pulled her over.

By fate or coincidence, they wrote her ticket outside the house of Greg Page’s mother, Lyn, an Army reserve veteran and home health care worker who cares for his two toddlers and four other children.

It was hot, so Lyn invited Nay Nay, Misty and another friend inside, made small talk, asked if they knew her son, Greg, and whipped out family photos of the strapping, six footer with light skin.

“I’ve GOT to meet him,” gushed Misty. ‘I want to meet him.”

“She seemed very nice, very polite,” says Lyn in an exclusive interview with artharris.com and asked that her last name not be used.

Later that week, Wednesday or Thursday before Haleigh vanished, she recalls seeing her son riding around with the girls–Misty, Nay Nay and Amber Brooks, a Ronald Cummings “ex” he dated before Haleigh’s mother, Crystal Sheffield and who has custody of their son.

“Greg is a good looking young man,” says Page’s mother, “the girls like him.”

Page says he’d never met Misty until that Thursday, when she got a ride from Prevatt, an old Misty acquaintance who knew Ronald from Amber Brooks days. Greg said he didn’t know Ronald Cummings. “Me and Misty and Nay Nay were hanging out, doing drugs and partying, and she came back the next day and we hanged out.”

That weekend, Page says he cruised with the girls between Palatka and St. Augustine, where Amber Brooks tells artharris.com she had words with Misty for purportedly stealing her man and “trying to take my child.” They were pulled apart before it came to blows, says Prevatt.

Misty was trying to forget Ronald, says Prevatt. “Smoking weed, drinking, (taking) downers, roxies, snorting cocaine,” says Prevatt. “She’d turned her phone off and acted like she wasn’t even thinking of Ronald after she hooked up with Greg.”

But she couldn’t shake him. “She told me she loved him because he gave her what she wanted, and she wanted a baby.”

Several calls to Ronald’s family and to Misty’s were not returned.

But I recall dinner with Cummings about ten days ago, when Cobra pressed him over Misty cancelling a crime scene walk-through she’d promised to do, clear things up. Bringing up White Boy Greg, Cobra pushed a button; Ronald was still furious, if philosophical, about Misty hooking up with him. “So what if she (slept with)” a (black man), he said, using the racial epithet. “I still love her and one of my best friends is black.”

In our interview, Page says he last saw Misty about 4 a.m. Sunday, Feb, 8, and learned later she was going to visit her father, laid up in the hospital from a car accident, busted leg.

He says Misty called him, “said she wanted to hook up later.” But later never came. He says he called, but she never called back, and he didn’t reach out after Haleigh turned up missing. “I didn’t need the heat,” he says.

Meanwhile, Misty was apparently ambivalent about her breakup with Ronald, couldn’t shake his spell. “She told me she loved him because he gave her what she wanted, and she wanted a baby,” Prevatt told me.

By Sunday, the party was winding down.

“She said she wasn’t going back to Ronald, and said for me to drop her off at her brother’s house,” recalls Prevatt, “that she had to take care of the kids,” unclear if she meant her nephews or Haleigh and Junior. “I asked her, ‘You going to Ronald’s? But she didn’t answer, she was over in a corner talking quietly to him on the phone. They both kept talking and hanging up.”

Then Misty made a personal request. “She asked me if I had a condom,” says Prevatt. “She said Ronald asked her to bring one, but I didn’t have any.”

She’s not sure where Misty spent the night Sunday, and Monday morning, Haleigh was supposed to take the school bus. Often, Misty would walk the kids to the bus, sometimes in her pajamas. That’s what three sets of parents with children on the bus tell me.

Only on Monday morning, Jerry Santos, a neighbor at the bus stop with his children tells me Ronald raced by in his purple car with tinted windows, came inches away from hitting a pickup truck–and mowing him and kids down in the loading area. Inside, Santos could make out Haleigh. “My daughter was still scared that afternoon about how close he came, she couldn’t stop talking about it,” says Santos.

Other parents tell me Haleigh did not ride the bus that morning, raising questions about whether Misty spent the night elsewhere; it looked like Ronald had to scramble to get Haleigh to school on time, turning him into a speed demon, perhaps concerned another tardy would put him in hot water with Haleigh’s school and the Department of Family Services.

But Haleigh did ride the bus home. Ronald has said he picked her up and took her home before he went to work, but two sets of parents tell me they saw Misty pull up in the blue van, and yell at the children to hurry as they piled in.

“It all comes back to Misty,” Cobra tells me, “and her timeline. No one knows what she was doing after she visited her Dad at the hospital Monday. Or whether she was even home that night (Monday). So many conflicts in her stories. She said she put blankets in the washing machine at 8 p.m. so why did police note the washing machine was running hours later? She said she went to the bathroom and called Ronald when she couldn’t find Haleigh, but Ronald was standing outside, supposedly just home from work.”

Then, early Feb. 10, Haleigh turned up missing and Misty didn’t answer her phone for several days, says her friend, Prevatt. Finally, she picked up. “She said, the FBI had had her phone. She said she couldn’t talk because the phones were tapped and hung up.”

That was the last time they spoke, she says.

“What do I think happened?” asks Prevatt. “I just know when she’s with the kids, I can’t hang out with her because Haleigh would tell Ronald Nay Nay was there and he’d get mad. I used to hang out when my friend, Amber, was with him, but not since Misty moved in. Ronald doesn’t like me, and to Misty, obviously Ronald is more important.”

Prevatt says Misty can be two-faced, “pretending she’s a friend, but now she won’t talk to me. Detectives told me she said I was a ‘lying slut.’ They wanted to know if I was there (at the trailer) that night or if she told me anything, but I wasn’t there and I don’t know what happened. I took a lie detector test and they told me I passed.

“Haleigh was cute, just like any other little kid. Misty said she felt like their Mom, but she wanted her own baby from Ronald…

      Hi Marylee and Janet I agree with all your thoughts. What I want to add as a recovering addit myself that oxycottin is very very hard to come off of. I is like morphine. Anyone of the charters that take this for just a bit your hooked. A very terriable sickness and withdraw will occur if you go without. My point its very addicting and expensive. I dont know if Crystal is really clean or not but what I do know none of them can put the kids first with these drugs.That may explain Crystals Drs oppointment instead of something the police needed from her at the time The best way to get help is treatment and groups and family support and theropy.May they all clean up.

      But seriously, I wonder why law enforcement hasn’t figured it all out yet. Between the drug use and the door being propped open (very suspicious since  one else knew that the door shut by itself other than Misty and Ron) plus Misty’s “company” some nights while Ron is at work…they really need to drill her until she surrenders and tells the truth once and for all. She and Ron have plenty to be suspicious about, no doubt. And I’ll never forget the time I saw a news clip of Ron talking about the fund that the bank had set up for Haleigh.  He seemed to have suddenly come to life and even seemed a bit “too anxious”  for people to make their donations. Did anyone else notice this or was it just my imagination? I’m still wondering where this money goes if the child is never found? Does anyone know??

      Nancy Grace in my humble opinion has been so off on this story.. Being downright cruel to crystal and her attorney but giving Ron and Misty a pass. I hope she gets custody of Junior he needs to be out of that house.

      My thought exactly! She’s not cutting Crystal (no pun intented) any slack whatsoever. It’s like she thinks that Ron and Misty and good, honest people. I’m really very surprised at Nancy regarding this subject. She’s usually much smarter than that!

      I know. I usually agree with most everything she says. Except of course, her cluelessness when it came to the Anthonys’. Thank God she is finally waking up and smelling the coffee there. But, the way she has treated Crystal and her attorney since day one has been downright rude but yet she has been very kind to Misty, Ron and his family. Don’t get me wrong, Crystal I am sure is not perfect, but… she seems to have cleaned up her life and genuinely loves her kids. It just seems to me that she could  give Jr a better living environment then what he is currently living with.

      If this is true, sure reminds me of some other dysfunction family in Florida.

      unfortunately I think that haleigh is deceased. I so hope I am wrong but 3 cadaver dogs hitting on the same dumpster is not good. Those dogs do not lie.

      If misty wanted a baby she probably figured one less {Haleigh} would make ron more receptive to having another. Maybe he told her they could  not afford another and her sick logic was that   one gone would make room for another. She manipulated a marriage after Haleigh went missing “its what Haleigh wanted”IF she gets pregnant and says “its what Haleigh wanted”then shes working him. People always seem to be washing bedding when someone goes missing. The dogs hit on that waterbody  nearby wonder if they drained it.

Surprisingly, as I believe that the Enq and/or the Globe pay $$$$ for the story.  Maybe this will be WBG next move....to tell his story.  I have read the articles on the Anthony case, but most of the time it has already been out on the news sites.

I was reading some of the comments on Art's site last night.  One of the comments mentioned the fact that when 'Haleigh had her hands bandaged' that Ron had cancelled a visitation with Crystal that weekend, without an explanation.

Also....there was a comment about GR N...and it said she was also into meth.  They said take a look at her left hand when driving.

Now....there are so many many comments and not sure which of those articles I was reading to go back and copy the exact wording.

I try to go to www.artharris.com and cannot get page to open. Only way I can get the site opened is by one of the links that had been provided.  Anyone else have this problem??

Good morning Grama.. hope your day is well and the sun shinning for you...  I must confess.. I had seen a photo of the hands bandaged somewhere, and heard the story. I also will confess, I wrote the post on Art's page about it....

I don't know, but they sure are hiding somewhere, wonder what they are up to?

Won't do them any good unless one of them try to gain custody, if they decide ron is a losing case.  But, not sure how Florida looks at Grandparents.  If like NC, and a grandparent files for custody.. shoot.. they would laught you out of court.  So, they don't need one that I know of..  maybe they are saving their money, to bond ron out again if need be.

please include yourself into that equation of Monkeys being great, as it is a wise monkey who knows  when to  just listen.

 That is how we learn. With all these missing person cases, added with the lies of the players, it might just take a cage full of different monkeys to bring light to the real truths as we all  want to know.  And in doing so, bring Haleigh home.

On that video of Gma Neves with Cobra, the day she met him at the gas station, and then took him into the woods.  She's sitting in her car talking to him, and someone noticed that her left hand looks shaky or something.  Guess it reminded them of someone who does meth. 

Grama, I remembered where I saw the info on the boiling water. There is a retired FBI profiler that lives in that area, he had a poster, who stated that he was an ex employee with Children's Services, and currently a teacher in town. Stated that he was either told or overheard, one of misty's relatives talke about Misty. Claimed that Misty had told them she hated Haleigh and that she had put Haleighs little fingers in boiling water. Also told about Haleigh missing her visit that weekend with her momma, because her little hands were bandaged from the burns.. It's also listed somewhere in #9's pages.

Ron has a really good friend named Orlando, big guy, black, who helped in the search and also seemed to be either next to Ron while walking around, or in the background.  I think that Orlando is a different guy than the pastor who has spoken for Ron in an interview.

A loving father would make sure his children are taken care of with responsibly adult drug free caretakers, Haleigh has already missed alot of school, marks on children and I believe he did use a stick on JR ,thats what they look like to me. AS I was looking up the orange groves  I came across this info on the oranges themselves. The Satsuma oranges that is... So, it makes sense why this area is populated like it is...

Family feud takes focus off search for Haleigh
The mother and father of the 5-year-old trade barbs and accusations.

SATSUMA - An uneasy truce between the parents of Haleigh Cummings following her disappearance from a Putnam County home Feb. 10 continues to crumble, with families on both sides now hunkering behind lawyers and questioning the other's motives.

At stake may be the future of Haleigh's 4-year-old brother, Ronald Cummings Jr., who was at home with his sister and their father's girlfriend the night the kindergartner disappeared.

The feud has complicated law enforcement efforts and provided a bitter sideshow with roots that go back years.

"It's not helping," Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy said Thursday. "Now we've got lawyers involved. Lines of communication don't seem as accessible."

Hardy said the squabbling is distracting from the search for the 5-year-old girl, who remains missing nearly two months after 17-year-old Misty Croslin, who has since married Cummings, called 911 in the middle of the night to say Haleigh had vanished.

"We want the focus to be on this child," Hardy said.

There were cracks in the alliance between Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, 25, and the girl's mother, Crystal Sheffield, 23, of Glen St. Mary, early in the search.

"Actually we were together the first night," Cummings said days after the disappearance. "I don't know what happened, [or] who said what. Somehow or another the next day they [Sheffield and her family] came back, and they just decided that we were not a team."

The sides came together the day after Haleigh vanished, later at a church prayer service and when the first month of the case was marked by a balloon release near the mobile home where Haleigh was last seen.

They were moments that gloss over what is seen in court files and what has been splashed across national tabloid television. The Times-Union tried to interview both last week, but each said they no longer wished to comment.

Bad history

Court records and interviews with those in both camps show a history of resentments and mistrust.

As the search gathered momentum early in the case, Sheffield's mother said investigators needed to focus on Cummings.

"Someone over there who lived in that house knows what happened to Haleigh," Marie Griffis said.

Cummings' family believes Sheffield's objective is to gain custody of Ronald Jr. Sheffield and Cummings were never married and have been estranged since 2005.

"Of course they are going to try to take Junior from him," said Cummings' grandmother, Annette Sykes.

Cummings and Sheffield were together from the time she was 14 until she was 19. In a court action, Cummings was given custody of the couple's two children in 2005 because he had a job and could better support the children, a magistrate ruled. Visitation with their mother was not restricted.

Sheffield missed taking her daughter to a dozen doctor's appointments over a year, according to the court documents. Haleigh has a condition that requires routine checkups.

Sheffield and her father, Johnny Sheffield, said in court papers that Cummings was an abuser who used and sold illegal drugs and threatened to kill people who offended him. Her father also said Cummings left the children with family members who used drugs.

In response, Cummings and his family point to the court decision to award him custody of the two children. She has also admitted to using drugs and has a spotty employment history. Members of Cummings' family said Sheffield is behind in child support payments.

In 2001, Cummings was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge that was later dropped. He was arrested on drug charges in Putnam County in 2002 and 2004 when drugs, including cocaine, pills and marijuana, were found. In 2005, he was arrested by the Highway Patrol on morphine possession and other drug charges.

Charges in the drug cases were dropped or adjudication was withheld, according to court records. In the 2004 case, Cummings was fined $370 in court costs.

Cummings only takes prescription drugs for accidental injuries, his attorney, Greg Kimball, said in a statement Monday.

Cheap shots

Kimball, a Putnam County attorney who took the case more than a month after Haleigh disappeared, said Sheffield's appearances on TV shows, including with Nancy Grace and Geraldo Rivera, are cheap shots.

Kimball and Kim Picazio, a South Florida attorney working with Sheffield, have clashed over photos of Haleigh showing cuts on her face.

In November, Haleigh was injured in a fall at school that was documented with pictures. But Picazio said later photos the same month show other injuries not connected to the fall.

Kimball said the accusations are false and in a release said the assertion amounts to "slander and libel."

Picazio calls the injuries "two incidents close together."

About a dozen photos released by Kimball show the injuries healing, he said.

Picazio said she has witnesses and evidence that will support her assertion. She has asked the state Department of Children and Families to look into how the children were treated.

She said investigators working with her are interviewing people in the community who know Cummings. Four of those witnesses have spoken to Children and Families, she said.

"He has been Teflon Ron up until now," Picazio said. "What kind of lifestyle have these kids been exposed to?"

John Harrell, a spokesman for the child welfare agency, said the department met with Picazio on March 17 and that her concerns are being reviewed. He said the agency would not leave a child in a situation that was considered dangerous.

"It's a very sensitive situation," he said. "You have concerns being raised on both sides."

Cummings told Nancy Grace on her show that Sheffield's accusations and efforts now to take Ronald Jr. away are ridiculous. Cummings, who took questions from callers, also discredited any notions that he married so he and Misty could avoid testifying against one another, should the case ever lead to a trial.

Separate ways

Last week, Cummings and Sheffield were no longer at ground zero in their separate camps near where Haleigh disappeared. Cummings' mother and friends were removing the last of the belongings from inside, including clearing out Haleigh's room.

Cummings lives several miles to the south at his grandmother's in Welaka. Sheffield, who has been staying in St. Johns County, spends time at a small purple building set up on U.S. 17 in Satsuma as an information center for those who want to share any tips they may have in the case.

On a recent afternoon, Cummings drove past the building, where smiling posters of his vanished daughter appear in the windows.

He didn't stop.

hm, glades road , in palm beach ,,,,could be they are trading drugs with the south end of the state.  If some drug man came there to get monies owed by rc, he could have taken haleigh as payment, and gone back south till monies showed up.. I think I read rc was looking to get his hands on a lot of money recently...makes me shake my head. ::MonkeyConfused::

I just went back to childhood, and growing up picking oranges. I saw my uncles who were the bosses of the grove. They drove their trucks between the orange trees, along path ways. Often those paths were growing together, sometimes touching a tree on the other side of the road/path way.  From this , my uncles would complain of the scratches on the sides of their truck. Orange trees have large thorns.

I assume you are speaking of oranges grown in this area and not actually Satsuma oranges.

Satsuma oranges are a member of the species Citrus Retucalata also classified as a Mandarin (tangerine) and are grown in all states along the Gulf Coast plus Califnornia.  They are one of the sweetest and softest of varities of oranges.  Alabama, Louisiana and Texas also produce them in fairly large numbers.  They are not peculiar to that location at all and the town is just named for them coincidentally. 
 
Local groves might be growing satsumas or any other species for that matter.  I would tend to think they would be growing hybrids or other types as Satsumas can be grown farther north and tolerate colder climates.  But satsumas are extremely sweet and delicious.  Don't think they would ever be referred to as sour.
 
There is not much demand for any of the sour species but think species would vary from grove to grove.

Satsumas are also highly seasonal being ready and in markets around Christmas.  Other varieties have longer seasons of productivity.

I am not sure how one could tell the species grown at any one particular orchard except by contacting them individually or their websites if they have one.

I must have missed it, I'm going back and forth between here, Caylee and Sandra, and trying to get housework done also.

I was just noticing the connection to making meth using oranges.  as well as orange trees put off heat, so infra red would be inhibited . There are lots of old orange grove areas in florida, that are not manned any more.  Then there are areas where orange groves "used to be". 

If someone was to hide a child in an orange grove, it couild be an area that is overgrown and not used often, which is why I was looking for a near by orange grove. That is when I found out about the meth made from orange peels.
Thanks for the words on oranges though. Are you from florida also? I have picked many in my life, and trees do have visible differences.  There are many varieties that have been grown here as well as become extinct. I just wish we would get some kind of news in this case, its gone on too long and I dont have a good feeling about this at all.  I think Haleigh is gonna be found in some of these surrounding woods around this trailor park or on Rons way to work or even somewhere towards where Misties Mother lives, I wish Mistie would finally come clean and just say what was going on that night, even if she was gone or stoned, if she would tell the truth then that would at least knock a few rumors out and give the investigators something else to look into......I dont get these people being more concered with trying to save themselves then where Haleigh ism I would have moe respect for her if she would just come clean no matter what she was doing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

If you don't think they're bandages, what do you think they are? In the picture, Hayleigh and her little brother are sunbathing. What kind of gloves do kids wear to sunbathe?

They're white, and her fingertips show, and they're not all one piece, but fabric wrapped around her hands like a bandage. I think it's odd that people are fixated on the bandages on the hands, and not the bruises and welts on her face, which plainly show that someone's dislocated her jaw and broken her nose.

I think the father beats the crap out of her because she looks exactly like Crystal. Has no one else noticed how much that child looks like her mother?

To me, the bricks propping open the back door prove there was no intruder. An intruder doesn't prop the door open after himself. You prop an already open door open so it won't close and lock you out. An intruder would grab the kid and leave fast, not prop the door open. Ron has said that Misty has no key. Misty propped the door open, so she wouldn't get locked out taking stuff out to the dumpster.

Ron is adamant that he was at work when the child died. Probably he beat her before he left for work--there's plenty of documentation that he beat her other times. He worked her over good and went to work. She died, and Misty called her cousin. She propped open the back door and took the child to the dumpster, which is why the dogs hit on the dumpster. Her cousin came by and removed the child's body from the dumpster, took it to the docks and threw it in the river, which is the other place the cadaver dogs hit.

Ron Cummings then married Misty so she wouldn't have to testify against him and vice versa. Then he put that "Only God can Judge ME" thing on his truck, instead of contact info.

This is not a missing child. This is not a kidnapping. We need to change the way we investigate kidnappings, because child-killers know to pretend they have a missing child, as a way to botch homicide investigations. They milk sympathy from gullible people for the loss of a child THEY KILLED. Misty can barely keep a straight face. These rumors of her not being home that night, are just someone's attempt at giving her an alibi. Though she might well have gone out to party or drown her sorrows after disposing of Hayleigh, leaving those bricks to prop the door open.

This man probably didn't want to deal with the Turner's Syndrome, either. I've known TS girls. I don't know how you would know a 5-year-old had it--TS's symptoms are that you don't grow, don't go through puberty, and can never have kids. I'm told there's also a little trouble with body language, like an asberger's kid has, but the TS girls I knew were all sticklers for following the rules, and very literal-minded. Not much imagination. I don't think it would make her harder to deal with than other 5-year-olds, but I do think the prospect of such an expensive adolescence approaching, (hormones, surgery, possibly breast implants, therapy, etc...) would really upset an immature man.

I don't think he planned her death but I do think he used her for a punching bag and didn't worry too much about if she were disfigured or killed during his temper tantrums.

The child who says he saw a man take Hayleigh, is probably just a very imaginative child who wants very badly to please the adults who want to hear that there was a kidnapper, not a murder.

Now do I have this right that there is one of many orange orchards and oranges can make drugs. There is an orange grove off of highway 17 and that is also close to the church that Ron frequents.. Are their any orange grove south of where Ron's home is that no longer harvest oranges... ::MonkeyTongue::

 TY for this info Mio, I did not know orange trees had thorns. It sounds like you could be onto something here. I am sure Ronald, growing up in that area, is familiar with the groves. 

Where I am I see a lot of peach groves, they sound simliar, close rows, which could be driven through, especially on a 4-wheeler, but no thorns.

fuzzball....not sure what they are on her hands...that is why I asked for another picture perhaps from that day, same clothes on to see if what ever was wrapped around her hands were gone..I don't think that it is bandages cause it is so loosely wrapped ...jmo..why would someone take a photo of a child with an injury that could come back to haunt them? I think that people who harm children are pretty sneaky and try to not leave bruises or marks that will show...jmo...they don't want to be caught doing  abuse obviously....

I don't share your views that ron used Haleigh as a punching bag, nor do I think that he broke her nose or dislocated her jaw ...jmo...and no, I had not noticed that she looks exactly like Crystal...will have to look closer....Even Crystal said in the beginning Haleigh is Ron's heart and that her daddy loves her ......I really don't think that the grand mothers would have put up with ron laying a hand on this child improperly for one minute...also my opinion...

hm, not that I have ever seen, of course if there is an orange grove near the river there, then I guess a dock could be present, even if it might be for the church, and again, I have not seen pic of church area, so I am blind there.

I worked the groves as a kid. I was paid half a cent to prune ONE orange tree. IT was hard work, and I was young.  Mice, snakes, bugs of all kinds, and the hot sun.
Then  I went onto work in canning factory. I was not paid much  more, but got to work inside rather than the thorney orange trees. mmmmm there is nothing better than picking an orange in the sun, and opening it with knife, sipping the juice..ceptin maybe a watermelon.

what I do see in those pictures is a mother who is suffering and missing her child...despair and sadness all over her face...imo..
what I see when I see the pictures of Haleigh is a child who is much loved by all, a happy kid who loves her life and her family.....A child that needs to be back with the ones who love her and are missing her....so sad to think about really...

The diagnosis might have been made quite early for the Turner's Syndrome as a result of being underweight or small for her age. Might have even been made right after she was born if there were any markers for genetic disorders present.
I have no clue if TS is expensive to treat or what Ron's plan would pay for.

As per mlee's court thing, Ron was in contempt of court just before Haleigh went missing. Did he just find out that day ? Contempt of court here usually means you pay a sum of money into the court. And it has to be a biggie for the contempt thing to be found. Like not complying with the terms of previous orders. Willfully and with no regard for the law. I know about this one.

Do you remember in the last few nights, we discussed DSapp, and you made a comment about "if she was walked out to the lake and put on a boat.. And of course the dog scent they followed rather throws a well, into that.  Okay, what if?  this just came into my mind.. What if, she was taken by misty out to the boat area, and put on a boat.. Now, we have to remember this jo person from tenn is also related not only to misty, but quite possible to DSapp..  And it really is odd that this joe cousin was in florida at the same time.  Now, the scent the dogs could have followed, could have been set up. misty could have returned to the house, grabbed her sheet from her bed, if she does wet the bed, then the odor would be strong and misty walked the neighborhood and up to the tracks dragging that sheet.  If this were true, she was laughing at LE... taking them on wild goose chase. Look at the nose. Then look at the way she's smiling to one side. She didn't always smile to one side--this is an injury. That "scratch" on her nose? That's not a scratch, it's an impact wound from where she hit the door or table with her nose. I've had an injury just like that myself before--she was thrown into a door or table.

The school nurse wrote that she fell on the playground and her nose was scratched, but the pictures show a swollen, blackened nose, abrasions all over her face, bruises, and it looks broken to me.

Also, did you look at her medical record, and her absence record from school? 11 absences in February? 8 absences in November? And no less than 2 absences in any given month?

The mother didn't show dates on all the pictures, which at first made me wonder if she was the culprit. SOMEONE was beating this kid severely, and doing it often enough that she missed tons of school. Accident-prone little kids sometimes bang their foreheads into tables, but the grandma's right--a kid puts their hands out to break a fall. There wouldn't be finger-shaped bruises, there would be impact bruises and abrasions on her arms, and NOT on her face.

Then there's Hayleigh's matter-of-fact statement that her Dad was hitting her little brother with a stick, which is where he got the big welts they asked about at school.

WINCHESTER, Tenn.- A major, international child porn operation shutdown right here in middle Tennessee.

Two male suspects stepped right into a police trap when they allegedly tried to sell countless, illegal images a teenage boy. Our Brent Frazier is just back from Winchester, in Franklin County where the suspects took the bait.

Lead suspect Gary Salles claims to be a mentor to gay and lesbian adolescents. He's a dance club photographer, by trade and according to investigators a self professed pedophile.

Online, Gary Salles bills himself as a bona fide photographer, but it's the personal, even pornographic pictures, according to police, that got the 57 year old busted in Winchester, Tennessee.

"To see the videos, firsthand, that he was sharing, that was exciting to him. For example, a 4-year-old being raped, molested. Ya know, he would really get excited," said Chief Dennis Young, Winchester, TN, Police Department.

Police Chief Dennis Young was monitoring surveillance video Saturday inside a Winchester motel when suspects Gary Salles and Mike Lattimore drove from Atlanta to offer up drugs, more than 450 computer files, images of children engaged in sexual acts, and according to police, a 13 or 14 year old boy for sale for $10,000, a 13 or 14 year old boy for sale for $10,000.

"These are real life kids being abused," said Chief Young.

The chief says Salles never once suspected the would-be buyers were undercover investigators.

Salles and his suspected partner are at the Franklin County Jail. The suspected ring leader of this kiddie porn ring with international appeal, won't find freedom anytime soon, at least not if the chief has his way.

"I don't believe this man is going to see the light of day again if we have anything to do with it," said Chief Young.

The chief also claims Gary Salles is a major producer of the crystal meth being supplied to middle Tennessee. He allegedly brought $2,000 worth to Saturday's bogus buy in Winchester.

The chief is crediting his department, the FBI, and giving a big pat on the back to Franklin Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children unit.

Suspects Gary Salles and Mike Lattimore will be taken to Chattanooga first thing Tuesday morning where they'll be arraigned and charged in federal court.

I think Fibsty played the bullshit roll in front of Teresa and GGSykes.  This way they would let ...Ron... know that she would be the choice for a NEW MOM to his children.  She was playing the sweet, innocent, role model of a ..mom to be. 

Maybe Fibsty is covering for Gr Neves, maybe she is involved in drug deals, and of course working at the Sheriff's office....hmmmm.....mummmmm is the word.  Of course, with her working there, would be the last person that the Sheriff's office would connect.  But, hopefully the new Sheriff, has some excellent vision and is able to see thru this crazy, drug infested family.

I will wait to get all the facts from the LE before I make a judgment that someone has beat their child and or murdered them....if Ron did do anything to Haleigh, then I want him punished...but until I know for sure, I can't be comfortable with accusations that none of  us really know to be true or untrue.....but I respect how you feel...if that is what you believe to be true....it just isn't how I feel...I think that all the facts will come out and then hopefully we will all know what really has happened..

Compare UR corner Crystal to UR corner Hayleigh, etc.... They have the same eyes, nose, mouth, cheekbones, chin, eyebrows. They both have those ears that stick out like the handles of a sugarbowl. The main difference is one of age. I bet Crystal had blonde curly hair at that age. They even have the same freckly complexion and the same basic expression on their faces. Crystal's an adult, so her nose is more prominent, her face is longer, and her hair is darker, but so would Hayleigh's have been once she grew up.

Looking at the photo, looks like a finger showing comparison....wow what a miracle.

I agree, how can anybody put themselves before a child, I just dont understand this kind of reasoning, its stupid, I recall one time when I was about 24, my neighbors at the time had a fenced in side yard for their dag with electric wire running across the bottom of it to keep the dogs from digging out.......the little girl next door was outside playing and I heard a scream, I looked out the window and she had reached under the fence to try and pet the puppies and had grabbed ahold of the electric wire and was kinda just stuck to it and was getting shocked, I didnt even remember jumping the railing of my porch, I jjust ran and grabbed her and yanked her loose the entire time getting shocked myself double time because my hand were wet from washing dishes, man it hurt but when  a childs in danger most people dont even think........thats what I dont get about these people......I would have been blabbing out everything I knew, telling every thing anybody had ever done, illegal or not in my rush to help find her..........this is just out of my relm of reality the way these people do...........

A Pensacola man was arrested on child porn charges after police found images of young children having sex with an adult male on his cell phone.

Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum says Edward McGraw turned himself into the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office Monday night. A warrant was issued for McGraw's arrest after someone found his cell phone at a construction site in Crestview.

According to the AG's office, the images show children between the ages of five and nine-years-old, nude and/or engaged in sexual conduct with an adult male.

The 38-year-old McGraw was booked into the Okaloosa County Detention Center on five counts of possession of child pornography. Additional charges may be filed once the investigation is complete.

SATSUMA, FL -- Almost two months after 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings disappeared, Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy still has staff dedicated to the case.

However, Hardy said the number of daily tips coming in about the case has decreased. He expected that to happen, but he also called that disappointing.

Thursday, Hardy spoke to First Coast News about the investigation.

He said while tips have declined, his office still receives information.

"It's just going to take that one lead or tip to break this case," Hardy said.

Hardy also said 17-year-old Misty Croslin Cummings is still the key to the investigation because she was the last person who saw Haleigh on February 9.

Misty was Haleigh's father's girlfriend. They got married about a month after Haleigh disappeared.

Misty has told reporters she was at home the entire night and put Haleigh and Haleigh's little brother to bed in their Satsuma home. She said she went to bed as well in the same room, woke up around 3 a.m. and noticed Haleigh was gone.

Hardy said there are still inconsistencies in Misty's story about that night.

He said, "We've spent over 30 hours interviewing Misty and we've had some of the brightest law enforcement minds in the world interview her, and we can't seem to bridge that gap."

Haleigh's mother's attorney, Kim Picazio, told First Coast News Thursday she and her staff have talked to eyewitnesses who saw Misty partying the night Haleigh disappeared.

"I have heard eyewitness accounts that she was not there, eyewitness accounts from different people," Picazio told First Coast News. "We've tried to ferret out those who may have had a grudge or reason to lie to us. We're left with a handful of people who have no reason to lie, in my opinion. They have stated that Misty was out that night."

Sheriff Hardy said, "It goes back to the inconsistencies with Misty's stories."

However, Hardy said he and his investigators cannot prove Misty was not at the house. He said his investigators have not spoken to anyone who saw Misty outside the home the night Haleigh disappeared.

While the investigators have received information from Picazio, Lt. Johnny Greenwood with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said investigators have not received any names of individuals who saw Misty outside the home February 9th.

Picazio said she is working on providing the sheriff's office that kind of information.

Hardy said there have been distractions in the media lately surrounding Haleigh Cummings. Haleigh's father married Misty Croslin and there's been allegations of child abuse at the hands of Haleigh's father.

Hardy said, "All the civil stuff going on around us is distracting, but it's not taking us away from our investigation."

SATSUMA, Fla. --- When many people think of parades, they probably have visions of floats and balloons, with plenty of food and smiles. At this year’s Catfish Festival in Crescent City, many will see something new. They’ll see Haleigh Bug Foundation volunteers passing out flyers with the missing 5-year-old’s photo.

“Haleigh has been missing since February 9th, and I want to keep her picture in everybody’s heads,” said Debbie Huddleston.

“My main focus is Haleigh and finding out where she is…it’s been too long and it’s too frustrating.”

Huddleston says she spent days on the phone with the festivals organizers trying to get permission to walk in the parade. At first, she says they were reluctant because the deadline had passed to register. Then on Wednesday, the organizers said it would be fine for them to walk.

“That’s all I want them to do is see Haleigh, that’s the main focus…keep Haleigh in the spotlight,” said Huddleston.

After Saturday’s Catfish Festival Parade, Huddleston says the group will be heading to the Putnam County Raceway where the organizer there has agreed to allow the Haleigh Bug Foundation collect donations and sell items to help find Haleigh. Huddleston also says she’s doing her best to get the foundations involved with the Green Cove State Fair. She wants to hopefully set up a booth where volunteers can pass out flyers.

Grama....this whole case is mind boggling! so many unanswered questions..
I do think that Misty is the key and has the answers to all this but for her own selfish reasons, is keeping it to herself ...I wish that the cops would take her in for some hard questioning and not release her until she tells them what she damn well knows! she is hiding something..I don't think she harmed Haleigh...I just think that she was partying and probably not there when Haleigh went missing...Joe is suspicious to me as well...

We had a 50-some year old RSO less than a block away...stabbed to death by a young man a few months ago.  We see names in the news when they're arrested (unless the victim is a family member) but there is no way to track them once they're released from prison.

On the search for Haleigh Cummings there is no news. Everyone involved is ‘lawyered up’, and Law Enforcement are being tight lipped. The rumor mill, which is a credible one, said that a break in the case was expected, but, so far nothing.

The cousin that stayed with Misty’s brother Tim and sister-n-law Chelsea (next to Ron and Misty’s trailer) was not JOE Overstreet. It was Donald Lee Sapp. The person I am sure took Haleigh. Why?

1. Donald Lee Sapp is a registered sex offender who was not registered in Putnam County but Crescent City, Florida. The police would not have known he was there to question him. (he didn’t change is address from Crescent City to Satsuma until Haleigh had been gone several days and the search of the sex offenders in the area had ended).

2. He moved in with Tim and Chelsea two weeks before Haleigh went missing. That is enough time for him to watch and learn the behavior and pattens of Misty and Ron.

3. It is enough time to get “in good” with Haleigh and gain her trust.

4. Haleigh would have went with him. She had fun playing games with him over at Chelsea and Tim’s before so why would she fear him? She wouldn’t. There was a comment made by Teressa Neves about someone in Misty’s family taking Haleigh to jump on a trampoline with Haleigh, Teressa said Haleigh really loved that and would go with him to do that again. She would not be afraid of him. (this was a general comment made about Haleigh going with people she knew, never anyone she didn’t know).

5. Donald Lee Sapp would know his way around in Ron’s trailer because he spent time there partying with Ron and Misty.

6. He probably turned the light on so Haleigh could see his face so she wouldn’t be scared. He knew Misty wasn’t coming home yet. He could have even changed her shirt by the back door, he could have said, we are going next door to Chelsea’s and it’s cool outside so we better put a different shirt on you. Reassuring Haleigh’s trust. Then he carried her right out the back door. He had the door held open with a brick because he knew from being there prior to that night about the door closing shut on it’s own and he wanted it to stay open so he could carry her out without making any unneccessary noise or alert Haleigh to anything suspicious. Maybe he pulled Haleigh in her little kid wagon? Just to make it more fun? Could be why the blankets and sheets were out there, he had planned to put them in the wagon and didn’t to be used to wrap Haleigh in to get to the next destination. It is also possible that Donald Sapp came out of Chelsea and Tim’s trailer and took the van right then, backed it up in the woods for a quick get away and then scratched it and broke the light. Or maybe he pulled it right up to the back door of Ron’s trailer. I haven’t figured that part out yet. But he would know the van, know where the keys where, know it wouldn’t be missed until the next morning at school time. The only thing is he didn’t put it back where it was parked, Chelsea said it was further over then where she parked it. (Chelsea also said she has a good idea who took Haleigh but then wouldn’t say on her interview with the media she said, “Misty thinks I scratched her van, I didn’t, I have a pretty good idea who did”

7. He drove the Van (Misty’s or Chelsea’s or whomever owns it) to Crescent City to his real residence. He then left her there, I am not sure what kind of shape she would be in, don’t want to think about that. Perhaps he drugged her so she would sleep all night. It is 12 minutes from door to door. Or maybe he dumped her somewhere between Satsuma and Crescent City.

8. After it was reported Haleigh was missing, Misty was not sure where Donald Sapp was at the time (this knowledge is first hand from her in an email to me) She also states that Donald was at the tent location later that afternoon and he was trying to be very helpful, but she said “he became standoffish” (her words) when the cops were searching the trailers. (I sent Misty and Ron and email the first week after Haleigh went missing, she replied to me once with a simple thank you, after nothing from her for 3-4 weeks she emailed me the Joe Overstreet theory I in turn emailed her my Donald Lee Sapp theory, then she replied with the info above, she has emailed me again since, I am not corresponding with her any longer).

9. There was a comment posted after a report done by ABC News on Ronald’s tattoo experience. “around the corner” Chelsea and Tim’s? .362 miles door to door. After all of the talk and speculation about Haleighbug and the legality of the donations/financials I decided to go straight to the source and e mailed Kim Picazio to ask her about the structure and status of the organization. I explained that I am a member at Websleuths and that people were questioning the legality of the fundraising activities.

Within two minutes of my sending the e mail, I had a response from Kim telling me to call her and she would explain it to me. I expressed my surprise at the quick response and she told me that she responds to every e mail she receives pertaining to Haleigh. Kim appreciated my desire to get the right information out there and in my opinion is a straight shooter. I can understand why she has such a good reputation in South Florida.

Kim explained to me that the reason Haleighbug was started was to provide temporary financial assistance to Crystal and her family while they are relocated in the Putnam County area. She and her family did not intend to do something like this but their hands were forced because of an incident before Kim began representing Crystal. Crystal’s family and friends held a small fundraiser in the form of a chance prize drawing when they were still at the tents and had a jar with the monies raised. Ron went to the tent and took the money claiming it was his right to do so as Haleigh’s custodial parent. When Crystal’s family spoke with law enforcement about this, they found out this was indeed the case, that Ron was legally permitted to take this money and do as he pleased with it.

Kim told me that she has very little experience with not for profits since her area of expertise is family law, so she consulted with and hired an attorney named Brian Page who is a Trust Attorney with the firm Greenspoon Marder out of South Florida. The Trust Documents will be complete and submitted to Bank Atlantic this week.

In the process of setting up a trust, a beneficiary is named (in this case, Crystal) and that beneficiary is entitled to the moneys within the terms outlined in the trust. In the case of Haleighbug, the Acceptable Purposes include customary household needs (including food, lodging, diapers, and other normal day to day items), funding for searches for Haleigh, and upkeep and expenses of the Haleighbug Center. There are no salaries involved and Kim has secured a local person to act as Trustee of the account. This person is going to serve in that position at no charge and will be tasked with monitoring withdrawls from the account. Each and every expenditure is tracked with a receipt, and each and every donation is noted. Kim told me that everything given to the Haleighbug Center and the family is noted. This includes cash donations, gifts and even little things like ice cream or slurpees that are bought for Junior. Everything is tracked so that the integrity of the trust is not compromised.

Kim also said that a statutory requirement of the trust is that when the stated purpose is complete (in this case the search for Haleigh or a reasonable time frame after her disappearance) the monies remaining in the trust are to be given to someone in a situation similar to that of the beneficiary of the trust. Hence, when Haleigh is found or when an amount of time has passed in which it is not reasonable to expect Crystal to remain in Satsuma, the stated purpose will be complete.

Beyond that time , the status of Haleighbug will depend upon Crystal. Should she desire to turn the trust into a registered not for profit (501c3) organization, she will have to do so by having additional paperwork filed but at this point, they are working only to provide temporary assistance for Crystal and her family. Kim did assure me that they will not be buying cars, new wardrobes, tattoos, fur coats, or anything extravagant with any of the monies raised. Crystal does not have free access to the monies- even while the trust paperwork is in progress, she has to ask for money, explain what it is being used for, and provide receipts.

Since Kim was so forthcoming, I requested the opportunity to ask a few more questions and told her that I would be posting any information she shared here.

I asked about the child support situation. Kim said that she did obtain the paperwork and Crystal is in arrears of just over $4000. I asked about the $16,000 figure that has been reported by Ron’s friend and she said it is not $16,000, has never been $16,000. Kim went a step further and explained why Crystal was in arrears even though I did not ask. She said that Crystal was up to date on child support until 2007 when she was in a pretty serious car accident. Crystal had some injuries that prevented her from working for several months because she could not get a medical release to return to work. For anybody who does not know this, Florida does not have mandatory short term disability insurance. Therefore, when Crystal was unable to work, she had no income. Once Crystal recovered, she was working two jobs to get caught up on child support. One job was at a gas station, the other job was cleaning houses. Crystal was under the impression that the child support was being deducted from her paycheck as this was the case with her coworkers. Kim said that it wasn’t until she reviewed the child support paperwork with Crystal that she realized that an Income Deduction Order had never been filed and therefore, the child support was not being deducted and sent to Ron. Should Crystal have followed through on this and made sure the paperwork was in order? Definitely. But Kim described Crystal as very naïve and not very savvy with regard to the legal system. Kim did mention also that Crystal worked both jobs during the latter months of her pregnancy and despite lingering problems resulting from her car accident.

After Crystal had Chloe last year, she did stop working because due to the economic downturn there were no jobs available.

I also told Kim that there was a great deal of interest in what time Crystal arrived in Satsuma the morning of February 10. Kim told me that as she understands it, Crystal was in Putnam County by 7:30 AM and she offered to get a specific timeline and sequence of events from Crystal. I told her that I did not think that was necessary and that really it’s none of our business anyway.

Somehow this discussion led into Crystal’s history of drug use. Kim said that when Crystal was with Ron there was a great deal of drug abuse but that the week Crystal left Ron she voluntarily checked herself into rehab. Since she did not have insurance at the time, she was only permitted to stay for one week and was then discharged. It is Kim’s understanding that Crystal has been clean since then.

Kim also told me about the incident that was published in the Palatka Daily News concerning Cobra’s run in with DS. Something we did not know is that DS did not visit the Haleighbug building only one time. He was actually there three times over a period of two days. The terms of his bond include not only an ankle monitor with GPS, but also that he is not allowed to be near any children under the age of 18 years old. Well the Haleighbug Center has children on site all the time, so his three visits there were a violation of his bond. These visits were documented in incident reports filed with the Putnam County Sheriff’s office.
DS’ visits to the center were documented on video tape and Cobra visited the bailbonds man who secured DS’ bond. This is a guy named Parrish who has a criminal record of his own and therefore the company is registered in the name of his wife. The bailbondsman decided to revoke DS’ bond and gave Cobra permission to serve the revocation and bring DS in.

Cobra contacted the Sheriff’s office and they gave Cobra permission to revoke the bond and accompanied him to DS’ residence. Everything that happened was videotaped. When Snodgrass and his roommate Tim, a winter visitor came out of the house a slight physical altercation occurred and Snodgrass ended up in handcuffs and was walked to Cobra’s car. During this time, DS’s roommate Tim contacted the attorney representing DS, who then contacted the insurance/guaranty company with whom the Parrish bonds company works. For some reason, this guaranty company opted not to revoke the bond although the local bondsman wanted the bond revoked. At that point, the Sheriff’s Deputies on scene asked that DS be released and Cobra complied. Kim said that Cobra was very upset by this turn of events.

Since then, DS’ attorneys have threatened to file false imprisonment charges and may be using the incident to have the very serious charges against DS reduced. Of course this has annoyed the PCSO because they want this man to be punished to the fullest extent of the law considering the disgusting nature of the crimes he is charged with.

Kim did assure me that they have several investigators in Putnam County who are working dozens of leads and trying to talk with witnesses who are doing their best not to be found. These investigators have successfully delivered Greg Page and Nay-Nay so that their stories and perspective could be brought to light. Kim also told me that they have reason to believe that there is another man with whom Misty had a sexual relationship- this is another black man and they have witness accounts of Misty’s exploits with this person.

Kim also wanted me to make it clear that she does respond to her e mails and welcomes any leads that may help to bring Haleigh home. I can vouch for the claim that she is willing to talk to people and clarify any situations that she is legally and ethically able to discuss.

Hope this helps at least a little bit.

I told her that she was a far better person than I was because I would have gone off on Nancy DISgrace a long time ago, she stated "I will do whatever it takes to keep Haleigh in the media" and I applaud her for that.
