Scared Monkeys Discussion Forum

Yesterday, I posted an apology on the current Caylee thread...some of you may have seen it.  Earlier in the morning I had checked and, of course, Nut had set up a new thread.  I meandered around but was mostly in the Natalee thread.  Went to put some things in the dryer and found that one of my sons had dried his clothing and had gum in one of his pockets.....it was all over the drier.  I spent about a half hour cleaning the gum.  When I finished, I came back to SM and found here that someone posted that Caylee's thread was on page 107!!!! 

I was too late....Klaas, with the help of others managed to get it done.   Multi-tasking can be a challenge some days.

I tried to find someone, I hit the report to a mod button - but I picked a post I wanted you all to be aware of anyway!  But, even that didn't work!  But unlike the gum, it all came out in the wash!

OH NO!!!  The gum!!!! I have that happen too and I always check the pockets too.   ::MonkeyConfused::

That is such a pain.  Last time it happened, I was so tired and had a fit.  I think my kids were afraid to chew gum..........oh for about an hour.   ::MonkeyWink::  Goo-gone is the best thing ever.

Oh art, thank you for this!  We have stroller and boots and bows and she even has blankets to ride in the shopping cart at Lowes and Home Depot!  They all know her name, but not mine! 

I used fabric softener on a dryer sheet, but had to gently scrape some of the big chunks.  Besides goo gone, I also read that spray & wash works, too.

Thanks for telling me ANJ I skipped out of the musings cage. Honestly, I'm not sure how a person would recover from that or if he or she ever could. I don't think I could. It is good that the mother is sharing the story painful as it is.

The message is important ... that's what I was trying to get across. That not only do parents of the bullied kids need to be vigilant but also the bully's parents need to step up and take responsibility.

My daughter would be in big trouble if I ever found out she was mistreating other kids.

MyTime, my dear I saw your post, and I think that if that thing would have ever used your son and his situation as a way to get to you, well then they are even lower than we all originally thought.  I know that they have boundary issues, as in they do not know how to abide by them, clearly in Anna's case they have gone beyond the norm, but I hope that if these things ever do come after your children you will bring in the authorities.  The exposing of personal information online without prior aproval or permission is a crime, I hope that those who have been violated in this manner will press the fullest charges possible. 

If you need help knowing what your rights under certain laws are, and you live within Florida or Washington, I am happy to get you in contact with someone who can get you the help needed.

Ya I had to hide the food coloring more than once!  This is what happens when husbands go wild...they want to "color" the Jack Russells.......luckily my littlest one has learned what "dad's" crazy eye is and she runs and hides under the bed until she hears me say "put that down!"

Are you confused? No one spoke more cruel things about her than you, with the exception of two others I can think of. Anna and I haven't always agreed and we both have strong opinions, but to her credit when I came off the road and able to post again she was very kind. Furthermore, when I emailed to tell her I was sorry we had disagreed, she wrote back she couldn't even remember what it was about.

I sincerely appreciate she has been so kind to me.

Years ago when the Natalee thread began, it was the "lively discussion" and it had it's own energy and it's own dynamics. Some eventually tried to use that for harm but to Klaas and Red and Tom's credit, they never allowed it to get out of control. I think I posted before to you that I thought Klaas was a guy but I also thought she was often the smartest person in the thread! I finally got up the courage to send her a private message but it took me weeks !!

Thanks to some of our newer monkeys we have a 'lively discussion' again in Musings.  ::MonkeyWink:: well done !!

These forums were so new during that period of time, they are still evolving and I think Klaas brought with her some lessons learned from the Court TV ones? When I arrived at SM I'd posted on software forums and university/alumni forums but never community forums, they were still so new?

I think we all have lots of lessons learned, I guess I learned some time ago the dangers of making posts personal (which I did at times) or not knowing when to walk away and take a break (Muffy is good at reminding me)  ::MonkeyHaHa::. It amazes me that they are still slinging out old hurts that are years and years old.

They need a new routine don't they?  ::MonkeyHaHa::

Hopefully we SM monkeys are evolving.........and I'm so glad we are all friends now. That's a credit to all of you, each of you !

It has been a great place to get to know posters from other threads too.  Since, I have been coming to the musings more, I have met so many great people.  AND have stayed of trouble too.  I thnk Klaas and the mods are happy about that too.   ::MonkeyHaHa::

MyTime, I have  found that the ones currently using that "he said, she said" stuff are the ones actually saying it. They are a most untrustworthy group of liars.
Look at what they are:, stalkers, liars, cheats, malcontents..and on and on. What GOOD are they to human kind?

You know, even when I've become an enemy of someone, I never revealed the deepest secrets they entrusted to me. That is called human decency. That trait is sadly lacking in the members of the darkside.

I'm back on hold, it's shift change with helpdesk but they are researching my issue. They really have been nice and helpful, it's just that with a shift change I'll have to start the history of this all over again  ::MonkeyWaa::

Thank you, AzSunny!~ I remember the pics of your little Bichon sweeties too! Phoebe also has the BIG head look, lol, she is a tomboy and loves to play in mudpuddles and all. So, the short cut is the only way to go.

I have to add that I took a course on Help Desk Management and it should all be documented and escalated accordingly.  I was just commenting because some systems only allow for so much documentation and like None said, she'll probably have to go through the history all over again.     ::MonkeyRoll::   Then, maybe if they ever finish, she can answer a survey after her 12 hour call.     ::MonkeyHaHa::

I have gone through a difficult time in the last year, but I know you personally have faced a lot more in recent years.  We get our strength from a higher being I guess, just one day at a time. I don't post as much, but I sure read a lot.  Try to keep up on the new missing babies too.  It just all breaks my heart.

Wow,  you are having a heat wave!  I think we are in mid 90's today...we hit 102 a few days ago....I am not ready for the summer desert heat!   Family is doing well, I get to go play grandma for a week next month.  I hope I remember how to keep up with 3 very active kidlets!  (parents are going to Ireland for 2 weeks, I tried to go with them, but I got the kids instead!)

Art,  I am losing one of my Male's to a type of anal cancer.  He is 10 years old, and he has what looks like a golf ball attached to his butt.  I was told he had about 6 months, but it has been a year and he is still going strong.  (and so far still pooping)  Doesn't appear in any pain at all.  It is inoperable or he would lose all bladder and bowel control, and they can't guarantee it would solve anything)  Makes me sad.  He is such a happy fluff bucket.

Oh, how sad, poor little guy. I've had a few with cancer and they lasted a long time without any pain. I was told a long time ago, that if they are diagnosed with cancer, not to operate as it spreads it and they will go faster. I've found that to be true.
Mine all got old at the same time Except that last one, She was only 8 which is still a good age for a Border Collie. She had breast cancer and it went very fast. The others were from 17 to 22 years old and just died of old age.

Yes,  that is what two vets have told me.  All three of mine are close in age.  Piper is actually the youngest by a about 6 months.     I keep looking at those adorable little Yorkies, and wonder if I should consider one of them.  My neighbor has one that is just a little bundle of love.  You can hold her in one hand, but she thinks she is a terror when a stranger comes around.

AZSunny, one of my Cockers had that same thing.  We went to another Vet and they operated.  He did great and
lived to be 19 years old and never lost control.  Smartest dog I've ever had.

I'm so sorry to hear about your fur-baby. *Hugs*  My 8 year old Old English Sheepdog was just recently diagnosed with bone cancer.  We aren't able to amputate and do chemo due to her large size.  The veterinary oncologist told us our only option was pain managment and radiation therapy to slow the cancer's progression.  She's happy and like herself (with a slight limp) and we are taking it one day at a time.  It is awful when these things happen to our pets.  They are important members of the family.  I wanted to let you know that there is a monkey who is going through the same thing.

Benadryl is freakin' awesome when you're having a severe allergic reaction to Bactrim and you think the itching and the hives and welts and red blotching and staining will make you insane. Especially the itching. And if you take TWO Benadryl, you even get to fall asleep and when you're sleeping, you don't know you're in misery. I always keep Benadryl and cough drops on hand now for allergy attacks. There's some stupid kind of tree around here, don't know what kind, but it's on this one main boulevard near here and I am so allergic to it I have to go down the street with windows rolled up tight, no air conditioning, and a cough drop at the ready in case my throat starts closing up and I can't stop wheezing and coughing. Getting old sucks. I never used to be allergic to anything.

OH NO!!!  The gum!!!! I have that happen too and I always check the pockets too.   ::MonkeyConfused::

That is such a pain.  Last time it happened, I was so tired and had a fit.  I think my kids were afraid to chew gum..........oh for about an hour.   ::MonkeyWink::  Goo-gone is the best thing ever.   

My Dear Monkey Friends,
I try to live my life from the motto of: “First do no harm.”  Today, I did harm.  I hurt two monkeys and I am devastated by that.  I take responsibility and I own it.
I am not trying to justify hurting them, but would like to explain a tad about me and what my true intention in my heart was.  It will help you all to understand my sig and tag lines maybe.  I am a multiple abuse survivor.  Abuse survivors are complex.  They can be some of the strongest people and advocates and some of the most sensitive people you will ever meet.  I know many of you are survivors too.  At times, I keep the vow to myself I made many, many years ago to have my voice heard.  Nobody has to listen, but I have to speak!  I abhor seeing anyone hurt and will often try to be a voice for anyone whose voice is stifled.  I am sensitive to a fault and try hard not to ever hurt anyone.  Today I failed.  I often use humor or finding a positive to keep my balance, but today I tried to use humor with JSM and Muffy and somehow ended up hurting them. 
With JSM – I felt horrible that her toe was injured and knew ( even felt) the sadness that that injury would have for her, due to her love of skating and walking her baby.  I tried to use humor to cheer her up and stay on topic.  Before I knew I had hurt her, I was already aware that I had hurt Muffy.  I was in tears over hurting Muffy when I went to close out all my windows and saw where JSM posted this: I just knew last night someone was going to bring up KC falling out of her flip flop, I thought it would be you, but not sweet ANJ.   My joke was not funny and I am sorry for that JSM.  Finding that I hurt you put me in a total puddle.  It honestly was not my intent.
With Muffy, I had been in musings and was feeling so horrible for some of the ladies there that have endured disgraceful pain at the hands of cowards with no self esteem and dare I say, no life.  I wanted so badly to tell them to take their power back from these cowards who would hurt them using their children and their families safety.  However, I did not know them well enough to offer them advice and I only knew what I was reading.  It put me in a horrible mood seeing the games these cowards were playing on members – and for what?  Anyway, I saw Muffy pop in up at the top and feeling kinda guilty for posting OT (even though I was in musings!) I tried to be funny and make a joke about Muffy lowering the hammer on us for posting doggie pics in the wrong place.  My intent was to say hi in a playful way.  My attempt at humor again failed and Muffy got hurt.  My stupid attempt at humor had her wondering if she is a meanie mod or not fair and she even questioned if she should be a mod.  OMG – she is the bestest mod I have ever had the honor of being on a board with.  All the mods are great, but I have always been in awe of how fair, compassionate, fun, considerate, knowledgeable, diplomatic and assertive when needed she is.   I feel just horrible that Muffy was hurt by my humor.  I need a warning label for bad humor.  Muffy – I own it.  I hope you believe me when I say from the bottom of my heart it was NEVER my intention to hurt you or anyone.  I adore you!  I admire you and am in awe of what you and the mods and admin's do everyday here.

I am not speaking for anyone, just speaking for myself but I would to say - from my observations, Muffy would not and did not try to hurt anyone feellings.  IMO, I think she was just hoping to drop the whole thing.  She misread a post, made a mistake yesterday, apologized and would like to move on.  I can understand that.  We all make mistakes that we would like to see dropped so we don't have to keep reliving it.  I hope I am making sense.  Muffy is a kind bee that only has SM's best interest at heart.   I don't think Muffy is the kind of person that would intentionally hurt anyone's feelings.   ::MonkeyNoNo::  She has too big of a heart.

Sometimes we go with only what we know at the time and later learn more or extenuating circumstances that change our minds.

At least that's what rational adults do.  Some seem determined to harbour imagined slights and ignore their own behavior.  And think they are entitled to "check up on" people who are absolutely none of their business.  When they can't find anything real scandalous, they just make it up to have some trashy cheap entertainment.

Bea was 86 and I read that her physican said she had cancer but gave no details? It is terribly sad.

I just wanted to thank you for sharing your precious babies with the forum. I don't come over here that often, but when I do I always look to see what you have said to update everyone. Its a real blessing - babies bring good fortune for you.

When I first joined SM, I was very sad from my Mother's death.  It was the first forum I ever joined, I never had the time before.  Not excuses, just explanations of my frame of mine at the time.

I met some very dishonest people, got scammed and sucked in.  I trusted the wrong people.  One poster even posted a bunch of lies about a friend of mine........saying I told her the info.  It only back fired on that poster, because my friend told me what to tell her.  My friend has been around a long time and knew every one would know it was all lies and would make that person look like the liar she was.

I have learned the hard way for sure.  Now I only asscociate myself with decent people.  I have learned who they are now.

Me too!  (Which is why you have my phone number!)  I get so angry when I hear about those who have been scammed by lying scum.  You have risen above it though, and that is a good thing, something your Mother would be so proud of.  She would also be so proud how you are handling the situations with your son, the ones that others would try to hold against you.... so wrong!

Sorry to hear of your mom's death. Some people do take advantage of people at times like that. But as i see now from this last day there is so much more to these forums then i really ever knew lol.Of course you build friendships with certain people because you share a common interest.
