Hi Desi, did you see my post about Shastine Pavao on the last cage. Cecybeans had posted a connection between the Pavao's and P Benvenides. Tonight Vicky A' facebook was posted, and she said her fav club was Club Firestone. So was Shastine's, and I was wondering a connection. It's all on the last few pages of the last cage. I know, I'm hung up on this money thing. I couldn't remember if you were posting when Cecybeans was on. She only posted for a little while, but seemed to be full of interesting info. Yes, you are like a bulldog on this case (and btw, WHO was that attorney for the traffic ticket, lol).  I'm glad you bite down and don't let go.  Persistence is a good trait for a sad blogger dedicated sleuther seeking facts and justice.

I for one wasn't able to get on board with too much confidence, on Casey's possible connection to Shastine-->Benavides.  But we should not forget about the possibility, and I sure wouldn't rule it out.  If at some point we learn that there is a connection to Casey, then this Vicky/Shastine preference for Club Firestone would certainly be quite intriguing.  And yet,Vicky assures the public that there is not even a Vicky/Casey connection!    :gaah:

When his interview was made public via doc dump, I looked into Vicky and noted she shared traits with the invisi-nanny.  Her myspace wasn't private back then.  There were lots of photos.  Lots of myspace friends in common with Casey, but don't remember if Casey was on there.  Vicky turned out to be friends with the Lake Vaj crowd, presumably including Annie.  She seemed to be in close contact with Iassen Donov in particular, IIRC.

In Annie's depo, doesn't she deny knowing Vicky?  I may be confused, and am too tired to keep looking up stuff at the moment.  (Ya know, Annie's depo had quite a few eyebrow-raising moments... but at least she wasn't chewing gum and belittling the real Zenaida and sneering/winking at her own attorney and calling all the questions "irrelevant" and threatening to walk out.  What a circus those A's create, ya know?)

Now to a stunning revelation in the case against Casey Anthony; her former BFF, "Best Friends Forever" spilling the beans of Zanny the nanny that might have been another one of Casey`s intricate lies during her deposition in the defamation suit against Casey.

Ex-friend, Annie Downing said she never, ever, ever, never ever, ever heard the name Zenaida Gonzalez, but that`s not all.

ANNIE DOWNING, FORMER BEST FRIEND OF CASEY`S: It`s all odd. Every bit of it is. Again, I -- she would start saying something and I would back out of it. I really didn`t want to know. I didn`t want that person that knew everything.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: It`s all odd. I like that; a great way to sum up this case. What else could Casey have wanted to get off her chest during their private conversations?

Straight to my panel: still here, former prosecutor Mark Eiglarsh; and joining me again, Drew Findling, Atlanta criminal defense attorney.

Drew, this ex-friend, Annie Downing also testified Casey told her, quote, "Whoever had her child they were telling her to say everything that she said," end quote.

Now, that implies Casey was telling friends -- the alleged kidnappers are communicating with me, but if Annie takes the stand and says that and there are no records of any such communications which so far we haven`t seen, could that really put the nail in her coffin?

DREW FINDLING, ATLANTA DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Well, I`ve said before, I think that the defense -- I don`t think I actually know, the defense should have a long time ago moved away from Zanny, the whole baby-sitting defense thing and gone with, hey, bad parenting, didn`t report for 30 days, but it doesn`t mean that she killed her child.

They`d be in a lot better situation. They`d be able to settle this lawsuit and say hey, she made it up and take a $1 million off of any books we sell and make the civil attorneys go away with a ridiculous lawsuit. But the longer they stay on this the more they`re going to be buried.
And what`s going to be interesting though, is are they going to get a yes man or a yes woman to come in to assist in the death penalty part or are they going to get that checks and balances defense attorney to come in and say, "Hey, folks, we need to move away from this defense because we`re losing a lot of credibility real quick, particularly if we want to keep this woman alive if she`s convicted."

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes, and they`re just bringing in their death penalty qualified lawyer who, if the case is going to start in October is not going to have a whole heck of a lot of time to get up to speed on an extraordinarily...

EIGLARSH: It`s not starting in October. It is not starting in October, there is absolutely no way. Maybe October of the following year if we`re lucky...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Oh boy.

EIGLARSH: And for sure as Drew said, we`re going to get a yes man. I know from speaking with Terry Letterman who is the death attorney initially that Jose Baez has this case and he`s controlling it and he doesn`t want anyone doing anything...

FINDLING: Well...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right...

EIGLARSH: ...that`s not consistent with what he wants to do.

FINDLING: But Mark, that being -- but that being said, I have to tell you, and I think it was bad form to talk in the public...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right...

FINDLING: ...about the dissent in the ranks.

EIGLARSH: I agree, I agree.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I`ve got to move on because we`ve got some more great sound bites from this former BFF. Casey`s former best friend Annie Downing told lawyers of Zenaida Gonzalez that their client`s name never, never came up in conversation with anyone.

FINDLING: Well, I mean, again, again, you know, when you do these cases you know there`s a reason why you don`t want your client to talk to the police because sometimes they say things that are misinterpreted and sometimes they even lie, but it doesn`t mean that you can`t clean it up later on down the road.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I`m asking you a question, is this woman going to be...

FINDLING: I think it is hugely, hugely problematic and that is why the defense should have moved away from this ridiculousness a long time ago.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An infamous picture showing Casey Anthony wrapped only in the American flag at an "anything-but-clothes" party was taken a year ago on Memorial Day weekend.

Local 6 News reporter Tony Pipitone continues to revisit the past year in the life of Anthony, who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee, whose remains were found in December. Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July, about a month after she was last seen alive.

The controversial picture was taken on Sunday, May 25, 2008, at the party hosted by Iassen Donov.

"She was at our 'anything-but-clothes' party," Donov told investigators.

Anthony's then-best friend Amy Huizenga also attended the party.

"I don't know if you guys have seen the picture of Casey and the American flag. That's from the no-clothes party we had in May," Huizenga said to investigators in a released interview.

She also told investigators that Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony, confronted her daughter over the picture. Huizenga said Casey Anthony told her mother that she was working the night of May 25 and needed her mother to watch Caylee.

"She pretty much shoved that picture that she had printed it off from a computer in her face, and said, 'You're at work, huh?'" Huizenga said.

Brandon Snow, a former boyfriend of Casey Anthony whom she claims impregnated her, leading to a miscarriage on Valentine's Day 2007, was at the party and had a discussion with Casey Anthony.

"She pulled him aside and he was intoxicated. She pulled him aside, went to talk to him out front, maybe to have a heart-to-heart. I don't know what was said. They were out front (and) Casey came running to the back bawling hysterically getting the people that she was, she came with, to leave," said Annie Downing, a friend of Casey Anthony.

"She said she had a miscarriage, that she was pregnant, but then she had a miscarriage. But he didn't believe it," Donov said. "And being that I guess Casey now is a pathological liar, I trust Brandon. I believe him."

Donov also has a theory about what happened to Caylee.

"I think she killed her kid. I don't think anybody else was involved," he said.

You know, it's really amazing how "famous" Cindy has gotten since her granddaughter was murdered.  Her life was so boring, only a year ago.  Now look at her.   ::MonkeyNoNo::  Having a grand ol' time!

I'm thinking that it's getting pretty far down the road to be changing the Zanny story now. Staying with it is admitting guilt, IMO, but it sounds like Baez is determined to go that route. I honestly think Casey's going down and the shortest distance to bottom is to stay with this lame Zanny story. Soooooooo, you go, Baez!  ::MonkeyHaHa::

The prosecution's weakest link is proving actual murder vs an accident, and there's a lot of evidence that Casey had been planning it. I keep hoping that the forensics will hold a huge surprise to really nail her on that!

She most certainly can not venture into the public without being recognized these days that is for sure.  Now how receptive the public is to her being there is another story.  Last year she would not have been recognized and just passed by..these days I am sure she has to avoid being smacked!  (Atleast she would if I were around)

Report: Makeshift Caylee Anthony memorial removed
A TV station is reporting the makeshift memorial for Caylee Anthony, daughter of Casey Anthony, has been removed.

The sprawling memorial the public created on Suburban Drive to honor Caylee Marie Anthony has been removed, according to WFTV.

It's unclear who removed the memorial, located near where the toddler's remains were found.

Jose Baez won't be the lead attorney of record for Casey Anthony after Thursday.

A new attorney - one who is considered by the state to be experienced enough to handle death penalty cases – will be revealed after the 10 a.m. hearing before Orange Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland.

Baez has been mum about the identity of the new attorney, only promising the media he plans to introduce this lawyer Thursday. It's unclear whether Baez will still be calling the shots or whether the new attorney will be directing the defense.

Casey Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie. The toddler was reported missing in July. A meter reader found her remains five months later in December is woods less than a mile from the Anthony home.

Prosecutors announced earlier this year their plans to seek the death penalty if the single mother is convicted. Florida law requires experienced lawyers who meet certain qualifications to be the attorney of record in death-penalty cases.

Baez does not meet those requirements, including having five years' trial experience and being lead attorney in at least nine state or federal jury trials of serious or complex cases.

Prosecutors filed a motion earlier this month, asking Baez to name the new death penalty attorney. He objected to the request and alerted the court the person would be revealed at the hearing.

Thursday's hearing will focus on several requests filed by Baez. He wants cell phone records, including any photos and text messages, from a dozen people, including Casey Anthony's parents, friends, the meter
reader who found Caylee's remains, and the deputy who overlooked a tip.

Some are fighting the request, saying it's too broad and violates their privacy.

The judge will also hear arguments about why the state should or should not release video of Anthony at the jail the day she learned a child's remains were found near her home. Jail officers reported she hyperventilated.

Baez also wants jail officials to stop monitoring and disclosing any communication between Casey Anthony and her defense team.

The Amber Alert system is "fatally flawed" and in dire need of changes, warns the American child-safety advocate who helped create the original program.

Marc Klaas is particularly critical of the rule that apparently stopped Woodstock police from invoking an Amber Alert after Victoria "Tori" Stafford's April 8 disappearance -- the need for a description of a suspect vehicle.

"In a stranger (kidnapping) or an overtly predatory scenario, the perpetrator is going to take steps to cover his tracks," Klaas said from California.

"Therefore, it's incredibly unlikely you'll be able to get that information.

"It excludes the vast majority of children who need the Amber Alert the most."

Klaas, whose daughter Polly was kidnapped from a 1993 slumber party and killed, was a renowned child-safety advocate by the time nine-year-old Amber Hagerman was abducted from an Arlington, Texas, parking lot in 1996. He later helped her family develop the first Amber Alert program, which has spread across the U. S. and Canada.

But the "red tape" created since has rendered it ineffective, Klaas said, noting many of the high-profile child abductions -- Elizabeth Smart and Adam Walsh, for examples -- wouldn't have qualified for an Amber Alert.

Northern Rose:  I hope you succeed with the changes to the Amber Alert.

I tried to get the monkeys going with that, but was shot down because everyone said we already had an AMBER ALERT, but that is not what I was trying to get them to do.  We have a MISSING CHILD ALERT, that alerts the neighborhood ASAP, even prior to going to the scene where the child was reported missing.  A reverse 911 is used in that area (I have received three such calls in the last three years), and a description is given of the child, and any other info they have, and we are asked to check our property immediately.  It is not an Amber Alert but a Missing Child Alert, does not matter if they suspect Mom, Dad, neighbor, stranger or alien in a UFO, it is a Missing Child Alert (if necessary, it is changed to an Amber Alert later).  With one of the Missing Child Alerts, the child was found within 10 minutes at a neighbor's home, who, by the way, received the missing child alert! 

Hope it catches on there and hopefully every community in the USA will get a Missing Child Alert system going.

I really hope we get it changed as well jaggard19.  If it saves one child then it is successful.

I think that the Amber Alert is a joke in a lot of ways. In the first place, when a child goes missing parents and caregivers need to alert police right away, like now. And stress this is a EMERGENCY to the dispatcher. Insist they come NOW! The police need to go through the areas right away with their PA systems going and lights and blasts on their sirens. Use the automated call system if it is in your area. Get everyone out and informed. Sometimes it is hours before someone in the area even realizes that there is a problem.

It is amazing how far away you can get in such a short time. I used to drive for a living and I am always amazed where the LE sets up roadblocks, and where they issue an amber alert to be broadcast. By they get around to doing that, if they are in a vehicle, there is already a possibility that they have gotten long past that. Perps holding a child usually are not going to hang around in an area long. Cordoning off an area a few blocks from where they first came up missing is useless. And if a child is missing, any child, pull out all the forces now!!! Don't wait till daylight to search. And a missing child on foot can get a long way on his on. Look at the little three yr old that was recently found almost two miles away from his own home. There is not nearly enough done right away. Parents look first, and police officers stand around waiting for a report to be make before anything is put out. I say, "Git 'er Done!!!!! Amber Alerts are like watching honey flowing in freezing weather.

Subpoena duces tecum is used to compel the production of documents that might be admissible before the court.  It cannot be used to require oral testimony.

It is frequently to obtain discovery during litigation, but cannot be used for a "fishing expedition" in order for a party to gain access to massive amounts of documents as a means of gathering evidence.     They are seeking that it is defined as limited.

Yes he is.  His practice is based on giving his clients services free of charge, unless they win he takes a percentage of the settlement and that is all.  His fees are part of the end agreement in the settlement.  He is really good, I have a friend who works for him in one of his many locations.  Much of his money goes right back into the community and to charity.

IIRC she finally submitted phone records, look in the last document release or the one immediately before that.   Regardless, we know that Cindy was in touch with this lune & sent her a teddy bear...to me it just means she was willing to get in knee deep with the Anthonys.   Bottom line, Cindy sent Dominic to the Suburban Drive woods & she stupidly admitted that to detectives after Caylee was recovered during a second search warrant of their home.   I realize what she was trying to pull by claiming she sent someone there but nothing was found but it backfired when unbenost to them Hoover turned over the videotape of Dominic Casey digging & probing so their reasons for sending him are now in question.   You don't dig & probe to check out a "teen hangout," certainly not frantically.   Also, there are sworn statements made that the Anthonys & Baez were part of a conversation at the Anthony house discussing them having prior knowledge DC went to those woods in Nov - note DC filed the bar complaint stating that Baez told him not to call LE right away if he discovered anything.

That is why they are so popular with drug dealers. The pings, however, are traceable, and I am sure the text msgs  can be retrieved.  LE would just have to know what they were looking for. I searched the .pdf of Annie's deposition transcript for the term "prepaid" or "pre-paid" and got zero hits.  I did it the lazy way; sorry to bail on my intended mission of re-reading the whole thing...I'm just not feeling it at the moment.  (I'm with Fanny.  All these recent stories and bombshells about children and women being abused and killed by predatory monsters... just not feeling the sunshine today.  Hugs to Fanny and all other similarly frustrated Monkeys.)

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding the facts; maybe you guys are saying that a prepaid phone is mentioned somewhere else, and not by Annie in her depo.  Or maybe it IS in her depo, and my quick search just didn't find it.

Great question, Fanny, because it leads back to Annie's They took me right to her -- ran the gamut of the reporters and protestors to sneak me in -- because I was going through something and needed my friend bull hockey.

She needed her "friend?" The friend that she admits she had not been in contact with for quite some time.  That she wasn't "best friends" with any more.

With Caylee missing; with Casey the prime suspect out on bond waiting for murder charges to be filed, and evidence of Caylee's death reported in the media, I ask:  What personal problem of Annie's could possibly have trumped her -- and Casey's -- and Cindy's -- concern about Caylee?  Something is very, very fishy about this scenario, IMO.  Especially viewed in juxtaposition with Annie's repeated avowal that she did not discuss anything at all with Casey related to Caylee's disappearance -- that she (Annie) did not want to be "the one who knew" what happened.

Why, indeed, would Casey be comforting Annie with the "Hang in there?"  Hinky times a hundred, if you ask me.

Not sure if its been brought up as I haven't been online for a bit but annie lied abut having no contact with Tony L. after meeting him at the chicken wing place. She sent emails to him asking questions about Zenaida and he forwarded them to Yuri. The questions IMO looked like something sindy would come up with. If this hasn't been brought up I will go find them in the docs.

Red Friday, Southwest Airlines is going to support "Red Fridays."
Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and
cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.
 
Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families. Of course I immediately stopped, and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us, so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.
 
Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service-men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said "Hi." The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her. The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her Daddy? Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster, and then kissed him on the cheek.
 
The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.
 
When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled it together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it. After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, "I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you." He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying, "Your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon!"

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event. As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day , it's good to be an American!

We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. 
 
Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect is on each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that... Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear some thing red.

By word of mouth, press, TV - let's make the United States, on every Friday, a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in RED, and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more than the media lets on!

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The massive makeshift memorial dedicated to slain toddler Caylee Anthony at the site where her remains were found has been removed, WESH 2 confirmed Wednesday.

Hundreds of stuffed animals, dirty and wet from months of exposure to the elements, had been at the site, along with signs, religious items and a fair amount of debris.

Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, is in the Orange County Jail charged with her daughter's murder. Caylee's remains were found last December in a wooded area off Suburban Drive near the Anthony family home.

The Anthony family's attorney, Brad Conway, told WESH 2 this week he was going to approach the county about cleaning up the site. A source with Orange County told WESH 2 they did not remove the memorial. Other sources indicate the land owner had it removed. Calls to his real estate agent listing the property were not immediately returned. The site is listed for sale at $89,900.

Meanwhile, at 10 a.m. Thursday, the public is expected to get its first look at Casey Anthony's new death-penalty-qualified lawyer.

Casey Anthony's lawyer Jose Baez said he plans to introduce the new and crucial member of his client's defense team at the hearing before Judge Stan Strickland. Also at that hearing, Baez is expected to argue in favor of a protective order to keep out of public view a video made of Casey in jail the day her daughter's remains were found.

According to those who've seen it, Casey Anthony is watching breaking news coverage of the discovery of a small child's remains near her home. She reportedly doubles over, then later, according to witnesses, asked for a sedative.

Baez said the video also captured part of his meeting with Casey Anthony in jail that same day. Although there is no sound on the video, Baez claims it is a violation of Casey's right to attorney-client privilege.

Also Thursday, Baez will argue why he should be entitled to subpoena a sweeping amount of information from a number of key players in the case; much of it revolves around telephone records.

Just this week, one of the people subpoenaed, Casey's former fiancée, Jesse Grund, filed an objection in court saying Baez' subpoena is too broad and would constitute an invasion of privacy. Others, including Casey Anthony's friend Amy Huizenga and the man who discovered Caylee's remains, Roy Kronk, have filed similar objections.

Where there were once mounds of teddy bears and hundreds of flowers to mark the spot where the remains of Caylee Marie Anthony were found, today there are now only remnants.

It is not clear who removed the makeshift memorial to the slain 2-year-old on Suburban Drive, just a short walk from where she lived with her mother, Casey Anthony, and her grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony, in east Orange County.

Today, George Anthony told the Orlando Sentinel that a neighbor told him Tuesday the lot was cleared. He didn't know who did it.

"To be honest, I'm glad it's been cleaned up," said Anthony. "I, deep inside, appreciate how people care for Caylee. There are no words inside I can express for the people who have come to love her. But her body and spirit aren't there. They're gone. She's with God. She's with Jesus."


Casey Anthony is charged with murder in her daughter's death and is being held without bond at the Orange County Jail.

Caylee's remains were found Dec. 11.

Records show the parcel is owned by Thomas Hendricks, who lists a Winter Park P.O. box as his mailing address.

A message left with the real estate agent whose number is on a for sale sign on the property was not immediately returned.

A county spokesman said Orange County did not clear the lot.

Strangers turned the lot into a memorial after investigators scrubbed the property for clues and declared it was no longer a crime scene.

They dropped off hundreds of stuffed animals, along with wood signs, plus a variety of crosses and statues.

In March, a for sale sign went up.

Today, only a few, small stuffed animals and pieces of plastic flowers remain. A doll's brush, a small yoyo, and an American flag were scattered on the ground. A no-trespassing sign remained.

George Anthony said he has never visited the site because that is not how he chooses to remember his granddaughter, though he is glad the memorial is gone.
Anthony said if people want to do something in Caylee's memory he encouraged them to donate the money to a charity, rather than spending $5 or $10 on a stuffed animal or flowers.

"You know, why not give it to someone who could really get some use out of it?" Anthony said.

Anthony said the family is in the process of creating their own memorial. "I don't think anyone needs to be memorialized at a point they might have been found or where they were placed. I don't think that's the way to remember someone properly."

In the meanwhile, the family has started the Caylee Marie Anthony Foundation and plans to give its own teddy bears to fire and police departments to distribute to children in need.

"My memory of my granddaughter is here (at the house), the last time I held her," said Anthony. "My memory of her is not down there at the end of the street."

Those questions that she threw at Tony make it very hard for me to believe that she did not ask questions to Casey.  She had the horse right there in front of her, no way she did not interrogate her or atleast try to.  I can picture Cindy and Annie doing a thurough interrogation on Casey......sitting at that kitchen table while George held his head in his hands pounding at it randomly.  Sorry Annie you are a liar!!

After reading the articles about the memorial being taken down, and the comments that George made, I'm going to say it again, I think George is worse then Cindy, he just has a sneakier way about him, while Cindy is in your face crazy and mean as he!!  ::MonkeyEek::

Given all of the rain and flooding that Florida has had over the past week and a half I can see why the county took down the memorial given that it was probably housing mold and giving off a stench, not to mention that children walk by it on a daily basis to get to school and could get sick from it.
HOWEVER I believe firmly that something permanent should be placed there.  Maybe a concrete angel or cross that would not be a magnet for dangerous mold.
George needs to shut his piehole, he would perfer to disgrace Caylee's memory than actually remember her.  He would rather stand behind her murderer than stand up and take action on behalf of Caylee.  George go back to your corner.

NoRose, George to me has always been a shady, arrogant loser posing to be worth more than he proves to be.  The entire family is diabolical!!   They were chomping at the bit to get rid of that site, they couldnt stand others paying tribute to their MURDERED granddaughter, they still want to put forward that she was missing because they cant admit what they KNOW & are covering for it.  Leaving that up was reminding them that they sent Dominic Casey to go digging around before she was found by LE or otherwise, it serves as nothing but a reminder to them that they have been protecting a murderer.

Granted the items had to be wet & dirty BUT that is not their call to make on someone else's property nor dictate what should become of something the public did to pay respects to Caylee.   To me, it was totally disrespectful that the Anthonys never went to that site to say thank you to community mourners & pay respect to their granddaughter - snit if they can dine at the Ritz, go drag racing & fishing they could have paid their respects there.

NoRose, George to me has always been a shady, arrogant loser posing to be worth more than he proves to be.  The entire family is diabolical!!   They were chomping at the bit to get rid of that site, they couldnt stand others paying tribute to their MURDERED granddaughter, they still want to put forward that she was missing because they cant admit what they KNOW & are covering for it.  Leaving that up was reminding them that they sent Dominic Casey to go digging around before she was found by LE or otherwise, it serves as nothing but a reminder to them that they have been protecting a murderer.

Granted the items had to be wet & dirty BUT that is not their call to make on someone else's property nor dictate what should become of something the public did to pay respects to Caylee.   To me, it was totally disrespectful that the Anthonys never went to that site to say thank you to community mourners & pay respect to their granddaughter - snit if they can dine at the Ritz, go drag racing & fishing they could have paid their respects there.

A makeshift memorial to Caylee Anthony is gone, and WESH-Channel 2 asked today who had it cleaned up.

Not grandparents George and Cindy Anthony, their attorney told WESH's Bob Kealing this afternoon.

"He said the Anthonys had nothing to do with the memorial actually being removed," Kealing said. But the grandparents are happy that elementary children won't have to look at it on their way to school.

The mound of stuffed animals is gone, but no-trespassing signs and a small religious statue remain.

A source at Orange County told Kealing that the land's owner had it cleared. The owner hopes to sell it, and Kealing reported that the half-acre parcel is listed at $89,900.

Casey Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter, Caylee. Attorney Jose Baez tomorrow will introduce the death-certified lawyer who will lead the case.

New Motion Argues To Seal Anthony Jail Video
Hearing Scheduled For Thursday On Evidence

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony’s attorney filed a motion late Wednesday laying out his arguments why a jail video of Anthony should be sealed.

The 17-page motion makes several arguments to prevent the video’s release, including that it was cruel, that it violated her right to counsel, and that it invades her right to keep medical records private.

A hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday on the video, which was made on the day a child’s body was found in December 2008. The child was identified later as Anthony’s daughter, Caylee.

In his motion, attorney Jose Baez argues that the videotaping was orchestrated to “get some reaction to the discovery of Casey Anthony’s remains believing that it was evidential in some way.”

Anthony is Orange County Jail awaiting trial on a first-degree murder charge in connection with Caylee’s death.

According to those who've seen it, Casey Anthony is watching breaking news coverage of the discovery of a small child's remains near her home. She reportedly doubles over, then later, according to witnesses, asked for a sedative.

Baez said the video also captured part of his meeting with Casey Anthony in jail that same day. Although there is no sound on the video, Baez claims it is a violation of Casey's right to attorney-client privilege.

Also Thursday, Baez will argue why he should be entitled to subpoena a sweeping amount of information from a number of key players in the case; much of it revolves around telephone records.

Just this week, one of the people subpoenaed, Casey's former fiancée, Jesse Grund, filed an objection in court saying Baez' subpoena is too broad and would constitute an invasion of privacy. Others, including Casey Anthony's friend Amy Huizenga and the man who discovered Caylee's remains, Roy Kronk, have filed similar objections.

Baez also said he plans to introduce Anthony's new death-penalty-qualified lawyer on Thursday at the hearing before Judge Stan Strickland.

The "bombshell" that they were/are having a physical relationship sounds quite likely, doesn't it?  I briefly searched for a video I remember, where they appear to be having a lovers' spat.  Couldn't find it.  Anybody else recall? It was in the A's driveway.  Baez was picking up Casey in his own car.  She was acting pizzy and he was acting pizzed.  Something happened in the video relative to the car door... Either he didn't close it for her, or slammed it angrily, or something like that, IIRC.  Wish I could find it.

So, yeah, it could very well be true.  The hugging, the intimate behavior on August 21 when Casey was bonded out, Baez calling her "my girl," etc.   Regarding this bombshell, the main reason I will reserve judgment for now is its provenance:

• Posted on a message board by "Peter," a member there for about 5 months.
• The rumor is just now surfacing at the end of May, in time for the hearing tomorrow.
• The alleged events began in late August, nine months ago.
• Peter allegedly heard the bombshell from an anonymous bounty hunter/bail bondsman.
• Peter doesn't give the BH/BB's name, but gives identifying details (10 local offices, etc.)
• BH/BB allegedly heard it from his secretary.
• His secretary allegedly heard it from Baez's ex-secretary.
• It is not stated that the ex-secretary actually witnessed the incident(s).
• Only that she knows it to be the case that they were having sex.
• This is the first we've heard from this source.  (BH/BB via secretary, etc.)  Why?  Is "Peter" the only person the BH/BB has confided to in all this time?  If not, then why has it never surfaced before?

Hey, if Cindy can get frisky with the private detective she hires, then like mother like daughter, I guess.  If it is true, maybe the news media will jump on it.

You made some very good points. It also seems to me, that if LE has seen this video and was aware of the hanky panky then they would have advised SA's and some type of huge fuss would have happened........

Dolce, the disappearance of the memorial site on Suburban is confusing to me, too.  But so far, here's what I think is happening:

Brad was said to be looking into having it removed last week (via the county?).

It mysteriously disappeared overnight.

Visitors are still showing up there, and a couple of people have left items to begin a new memorial site.

Reporters contacted the county, who said they did not remove it.

Reporters attempted to contact the owner and/or the realtor who has the property for sale, with no response.

Reporters did speak to George Anthony, who said he didn't know who removed it (likely untrue) but was glad it was gone.

Not sure whether Brad said he had anything to do with it.  I think he may have denied it.

So, the county did not remove it, but it is somehow mysteriously gone.  Yes?

Thanks for posting this, Trimm.  This might seem cruel if the story were different, but my impression of George's comments about the memorial site seemed creepy, in light of what I believe may have happened to Caylee and to her body after she was killed.  If George knew of her death, and/or was involved in disposing of her <shudder> "remains," then his words seem to give away certain impressions...

N2WISHN, that's what they were speculating had perhaps occurred, on the IS thread.  Some posters suggested the judge or others had seen the video, and that is in part what may have prompted one or more of the pending bar complaints against Baez.  But I saw that other posters pointed out that the bar complaints are said to be related to the Dominic Casey issue instead.  I wonder, though.

I think that was a Fox video. It was during the time that they were out there all the time. When Baez and Casey came flying out of the house the reporters said the could hear George in the background yelling "Get out of my house!!!" Second, and sit down for my take on the motion:

I'm livid at Uncer & Richardson, who the frig paid them off to be all sympathetic - sorry to say but its damning testimony..Im absolutely sickened over it.   Why on earth are they so at the ready to say Casey's treatment in this incident was cruel...hmm.  The damage is done, its going to be a tough pill to swallow tomorrow when this is discussed in court, of course Bozo is exaggerating but the weight of 2 jail employees against what was done is going to be a possible small victory for the defense, it will be interesting to see if there are other staff members that contradict what transpired according to Uncer & Richardson.

I would beg to differ on it being "cruel" sorry to me it doesnt rise to that level, she wasnt exactly beat about the head or waterboarded for the love of God! Snit killing an innocent babygirl IS "cruel."    It will not effect the case in chief but it will go towards a theme Bozo & team will use at trial that his client was mistreated & law enforcement acted with misconduct....ugh here we go!  Don't panic though because this sidetrack wont prevail in derailing the jury from its task at hand because it has nothing to do with what Casey did between 6/15 - 7/15 and leading up to that time frame, her guilt or innocence should be based on that.   In the case of a murdered baby getting a jury to ignore the evidence out of sympathy or outside factors would be an enormous mountain to climb, IMHO not happening.

That being said, his argument regarding medical history is weak.   They did not disclose her medical records, they did not report on her treatment other than what Casey herself requested.   Their comments regarding her mental state by staff were observations, not medical treatment or diagnose.   The State's counter balance will be to argue that the jail knew she had a radio, that she may need medical attention upon hearing this news & the proper place for her would have been to escort her to the medical center.   On this issue and the privacy issue, he will not prevail easily if at all - doesnt matter the above will be enough for the judge to probably seal it.

Prepare yourselves now because at this point without the benefit of hearing tomorrow's assertions & arguments, I must say I doubt the tape will be released.   As far as the phone records of the laundry list of people Bozo wants to find fault with, he will not prevail - he will be told if at all that his scope is limited & that more and likely will be laid out specifically as to what that shall be.

Jose Baez Repeatedly Told To Stop Touching Casey During Jail Visits



Eyewitness News has discovered that on at least two occasions jail staff had to step in and Baez was warned repeatedly about hugging Casey during their visits.

A jail report states: "The inmate's attorney was observed hugging inmate and was advised that physical contact was prohibited."

A week later, another report stated: "Baez again observed hugging his client."

The room Baez and Anthony meet in is very small and typically there is a desk and two chairs.

Sources told Eyewitness News that on one occasion, Anthony was sitting and Baez was very close to her face. A corrections officer had to go into the room to separate them.

"Orange County jail policy forbids any kind of touching between visitors and inmates. Mr. Baez was cooperative and agreed not to repeat the behavior. Mr. Baez has always been professional and cooperative in his interactions with the Orange County Corrections Department," jail spokesman Alan Moore said in a statement.

Eyewitness News confronted Jose Baez about the situation.

"I have no comment," he said.

Eyewitness news' legal analyst Bill Schaeffer said it's unusual that an attorney would ever touch a client.

"The more experience you are in handling these type of clients or situation, the less likely you are to place yourself in a situation that could be regarded as a compromising situation," said Schaeffer.

When Casey was out on bond, there were several times that she would spend six hours a day at Baez's office including Saturdays. There's nothing criminal about having a relationship with a client, but Schaeffer said there are ethical issues.

"The appellate court could find that relationship overstepped the bounds of attorney client relationship and affected that performance and order a new trial," he said.

There was no evidence that Baez and Casey were actually having a relationship.

The reason touching isn't allowed at the jail is because contraband items could be passed. Baez told jail officials that he didn't know the rules, and wouldn't do it again.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The defense attorney for Casey Anthony has been warned about physical contact with his client.

Jail records indicated Jose Baez was seen hugging Anthony during a recent visit.

The records indicated that Baez was warned that rules prohibit contact with an inmate, and they showed he had hugged her on another visit.

The jail staff had to again warn him that contact was against the rules.

Baez told correctional officers he would remember not to do it again.

Corrections officials said they don't plan to take further action.

No way in he!! will this video be released to the public, I personally think this will come back and haunt the prosecution's case. But, what do I know. This doesn't sound like this is proper to do with other inmates, and it should not have been done with her. Baez will score with this one.

[rant] This motion is a big, disrespectful, poorly thought out, poorly worded mess!  I see Baez twisting the words of Uncer and Richardson, big time.  Shamelessly.  Puts words right in their mouths.  They didn't say anything about Casey being treated in a "cruel" manner when they were interviewed by OCSO, now did they?

The quotes from the depositions he subjected them to are pitiful.  He comes across in these snippets of depo as harassing, cajoling, manipulating, and battering them.  I couldn't even finish it; it is so bad. He is nothing but sleazy and manipulative, and carries it off with an utter lack of style, sentence structure, logic, ethics, or clear meaning. He should be ashamed to call himself an attorney. 

Most of it I cannot even bring myself to address.  But one thing that I can't pass over is how he keeps hammering on this being the FIRST EVER time these jail employees have been asked to bring a prisoner to medical, take notes on what happens, save the video capture, etc.

I totally agree as I am reading this motion I am scratching my head esp over the comment by Richardson "Does she have to see this?"  See what?  There was nothing that said the skull found was Caylee's......the Slore's reaction is rather ambiguous considering she has always maintained her innocence. Did she ever once cry out in fear and panic that she was worried that might be Caylee?

Come on, if she were innocent she would have been screaming hysterically concerned that this was Caylee. 

No.....instead she became upset because of what this might mean for herself and then went on to talk about football.  Sigh.....I think I want to throw up.

DNA tests performed by state police reveal it was a man's body found last week washed ashore on the Des Plaines River near Channahon.
Illinois State Police have yet to identify the man, whose corpse was found on May 20 on the river's shore. Master Sgt. Tom Burek did not release further details about the man, including his age.
This ends speculation that the body could have been either Lisa Stebic of Plainfield or Stacy Peterson of Bolingbrook.

The only complicating factor in this is that she was in the medical facility.
HIPPA laws are federal laws. You cannot disclose anything to do with medical records, in jail or not.
If she had been in any other part of the jail there would be no problem releasing the video, as we have seen before.....
It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Many rights are waived when they are arrested when they sign the check in sheets, so that may be a right she waived at that time.

I doubt that the video will be released too. However, in the correctional setting, incident reports are written and passed on to superiors and other shifts if something disturbing is going on with an inmate. It's a way of covering your a$$ and also protecting other officers should the distraught inmate harm themselves or someone else after you're off duty.

Wow.  I know no one likes to talk about incest in this case, or incest in general.  But a lot of what this lady says has been discussed here and elsewhere, and could be argued to have merit as a debatable theory in this case.  IMO of course.  I have never been able to rule it out.  (She talks waaaaay too slow, though!  She was hyp-mo-tizing me there!)

I have always said that Casey "has something on" her parents.  And that their behavior has been so off the charts from the very beginning (like no one reporting a child missing for 31 days), that there HAS to be an explanation for it.  I suggested more than once here on this thread and on my own myspace blog (may it RIP) that the secret of Caylee's paternity might could be so explosive that it would explain the continuing bizarre actions and words of the A's since they first made the news in July. 

Not to say that I believe that George is Caylee's father.  But I have never for a moment been willing to rule out the possibility, simply because it makes so many of the puzzle pieces fit.

You won't get any nanners from me. If there was incest in that appalling family it would explain so much. One could understand why Caylee was murdered and why KC had so much power over her parents. I remember hearing news stories from time to time over the years about illness/health/treatment of inmates... Susan Atkins comes to mind, who was recently in the news wanting to be released b/c of her brain tumor.  Maybe not a good example, since one would assume she herself made that public.  Too tired to remember specific examples, but I do recall hearing stories in the media... Yet, I've also heard what Western says about privacy rights under HIPPA... Has anyone researched what the exceptions might be, or whether prisoners waive part of their HIPPA rights upon incarceration?  Now I'm really curious.
