There is a Dutch TV show, the guy's name is De Vries.  He investigates cold cases and according to most of the Dutch posters he's very thorough in what he does.  He is doing a show on the NH case.  We read that he is in Aruba right now and was asked not to trespass on the Kalpoe property, lol  :lol:

It's my understanding that Scrux will be re-opening with SHIZARU as administrator.  As far as Roger goes I'm not sure he will be involved in the site at all.  Also, from what I've read, Roger appears to be of the belief now that Jk2 are indeed guilty.

From what I've read, Shizaru is going to moderate Scrux instead of Roger.  

I'm still amazed that there are people who are PAID to hang on message boards, etc.  

Please note, the above two thoughts are not related to each other.

Earlier today, a spokesman for Rumsfeld said he'd given no indication that he would step down in the wake of Democratic election gains. The spokesman said Rumsfeld would work with Congress on Iraq but added that the focus on stabilizing the country will remain the same.

In the days leading up to the election, President Bush said he wanted Rumsfeld to stay on as defense chief until the end of Bush's second term.

So glad you are home because I know the stress and anxiety it creates to be away from your  dogs like that.  We were worried you might not have enough food on hand for a long recovery and folks were volunteering to bring some by.

Shadow posted yesterday that she would bring dog food should you need it, maybe even some for people as well, lol!

I just got back from flying... do not take anything carry-on that you want.  They will not allow even a tube of lipstick in your purse and I am NOT kidding... I guess they are afraid that you will write on someone's forehead?? :shock:

Just over pack if you have to and put it the under the plane part... I packed for 3 days just to go overnite ... because I didnt' want to lose my cosmetics and cleansers, etc in carry on...

Just stopped by to say Hello and see what's happening.  I see we're still hot on the trail of CCroes and we have some children that the "system" won't protect.  I agree that Nancy Grace is a good person to go to.  I just watched her on Celebrity Jeopardy playing for the Missing Children charity she supports.  She blew the final answer (one that even I knew!) and Regis Philbin won.  Carson from Queer Eye was on also.  Anyhow, I'd be happy to start sending some e-mails for these kids - just tell me who to write.

The answer to your question about logging into your machine remotely is possible, yes many ways..  PC Anywhere or if you want you can turn on power strips or servers with hardware control from the internet using hardware from Avocent..  www.avocent.com but there are a lot out there that allows someone to control other computers from the internet..  So if I need to check on some mail servers or enterprise servers all I do is to logon from the internet and I have access to the above even to turn the power strips off if I want to..

Well, he is still investigating. I am very interested in DeVries point of view as to what went wrong with the investigation. I do have my beliefs and I would not be posting here if I beleived otherwise. From the beginning, I have always felt and now even more so that three were guilty plus the help that they had from Paulus. But I would like to hear a viewpoint from Devries. And not only can they take control of your computer, some people can even collect photos from other computers and post on yours.  I was very surprised once to time photos of construction of a railroad crossing, mountains in the western US and an odd collection of fowls like ducks and geese on mine once upon a time.  And I thought I had access blocked, no file sharing or networking.  And it went back to one of those sites that end in .nl too.  

Some sites install an applet on your computer that allows someone to then find it later and they go into it and take over and post things.  They printed my files on their own computer which is a different brand from mine but they had installed it on my computer as well.  The software to run their computer I mean.

Once in a while I find they have been snooping around again but something has prevented them from access to this one.  So far.   :roll:   I have about six things installed to block outside intruders.  These had to be set up by my son with computer knowledge to be compatible with each other.  

My new daughter in law is software engineer for the government in Washington so she is also helpful in this regard.  Just about requires a staff to just stay online these days.

It seemed a little of both.  Not enough powder to account for a whole strand.  But I did want to warn people that dogs can do this.  I also have a carved bone necklace and did not think about that until one of the pups took a really really big interest in it as well.

Scotties have tremendous biting power and I think he just liked the feel of them crunching in his teeth like that.  Did you know some have little knot in-between each pearl?  I didn't until he exposed the string for me.  It was my fault for I took them off and laid them where he could reach them for it never entered my mind he would just love them so.  He was sad when I took them away from him but not as sad as I was.

I did receive new ones as a gift later and never put them where any of the dogs, even the little ones can reach them.  Did not make him sick at all but might have had he swallowed the string for it is something like nylon and strong, don't know if it would digest as the pearls seemed to do just fine.  Probably full of calcium, lol.

I want the really, truly guilty party found.  I am sure we all do and so do Natalee's parents including her mother Beth.  No one has a personal vendetta against Joran as some like to claim.  We all want the one responsible exposed and prosecuted and no one but that person.

That being said, I can't for the life of me find anybody else who even could have made Natalee disappear.  Bushy Haired Stranger is just not applicable in this instance because what are the odds of that and why would they make even remains disappear?  If she was unconscious of the beach, BHS could have just raped her and left her.  No need to kill her because she was totally out of it and could not identify anyway.

Well, there numerous ways for it to happen and just as many ways to prevent it.

One way in WinXP is to go to Control Panel and then c l i c k on Administrative Tools.

On the Administrative Tools Menu c l i c k on Computer Management.

The Computer Management screen will show you a list on the left for things about you computer.

On the system tools icon make the + sign a minus and another list of things will be displayed.

On that list will be Shared Folders. If you c l i c k on Shared Folders you will see on the left any folders on your computer that are shared with anyone else on your network.

Your network can consist of anyone on your cable connection.

You can change or delete your shared info as you wish.

Go to Help for more info on each.

If your default setup is set with shared folders then someone can find you and connect and it will show up as a connection.

This is the most common problem for folks on networks who don't realize that their system usually defaults to sharing certain areas on your computer.

Deleting or unsharing folders is the best thing to do and blocking any access with a firewall product is even better thing to do.

Yes if you don't have a firewall they are accessable on a network.

Biggest trouble folks have on Cable Broadband is that all the computers are considered on the same network and all shared folders not behind a firewall are available to all on the network.

Car- you're doing a good public service then, for I just assumed most people employ a firewall and would hope those selling networking would ensure customers know they do need a good firewall.

Since 9/11 they really have tightened up things at the border. Going both ways. Getting into the USA even if you were born in Canada and have all the required papers. If you were born in Europe / and have travelled there recently and not a Canadian citizen, even with a passport and all papers in order, you are subject to fingerprinting and quite a bit of checking. Getting back in here is just as difficult. I haven't been out since last Christmas, but it is stricter now. When we were at the border going into the USA, some other person was turned back and a few years ago, I know they would have let him through.
They also want to arm the Canadian border guards. I think it is something they have to do because of the climate.

I crossed over to Canada from Detroit once, it was a world of difference almost like leaving a dirty nasty steel mill and going in to flower garden.

I spent a week last year in Guelph, a small college town just south of Toronto.  Delightful.  The people were genuine, warm and very unassuming.  I felt very comfortable and welcomed there, even by bigwigs at the university who had every reason to put on airs (lord knows, their counterparts in the States do!), but they did not.  They were kind, interested, and took time to talk and listen with my son and I.  My son did some contract work for the University of Guelph and I talked with people who run their online program there.  We were quite impressed with the genuine friendliness of the Canadians.  Of course, we were there in the summer--the pictures I saw of the winter snows were a bit off-putting!   :lol:

I agree AZLady.  I am usually proactive, but sometimes it's best to sit back, give 'em some rope and let 'em hang themselves.

I don't think we know what kind or color car Freddy drives, if he drives at all.  

I believe GVC and possibly Guido had white cars available for them to drive.

I always like to chime in on Veterans Day with a bit of trivia.

"The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month"

The Armistice that ended World War One was signed at 11:00 a.m. on 11/11/1918.

In 1968, the "Monday Holiday Observance" bill was passed, which assigned many federal holidays to an appropriate Monday. (Notable exceptions are, of course, Christmas, July 4, and Thanksgiving.)

But in 1968, enough WWI veterans were around to protest THEIR day being moved to a Monday, because they LIKED the grandeur and dignity of  "the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" ...

So what used to be called Armistice Day (and became Veterans Day after WWII), is not one of the Monday holidays.

HOWEVER -
When Independence, Veterans, or Christmas dates fall on Saturday, the federal observance is Friday. When those dates fall on Sunday, the federal observance is Monday. By "observance" I mean that non-critical U.S. government offices are closed, as are banks and many other establishments.

Thank you, Carnut.  I bookmarked those sites to return to in the event I need them.  So far, so good with this hard drive.  Sometimes I have known there were risks but when chasing down an actual person in Aruba to a questionable site, have chosen to take that risk.  Example the kids with money fanned out and a car they had apparently bought at least they were claiming to have done so from promoting Bangbus.  

Then I want to know about how much money can they actually make and are they just hosting the site on their computer and paid for links that go to it or are they emailing links to people via Spam or are they making vids for the site.  Just how do they get Nasty Dollars and how much money could these young thugs be making anyway.

So I do know the risks but sometimes it is very hard to not try to learn about something I don't know.  Guess maybe it is worth it too but seems there should not be anything they could do to a hard drive to totally destroy it.  What I don't like is not being able to fix it back.  But last one is with authorities in Birmingham and I may get it back some day.

In the back of my mind, I still think they at least planned to photograph Natalee or take videos or something of that nature as that is common in Aruba to do so.  So I want to know if they get paid for amateur vids and in trying to find answers, pick up all kinds of evil stuff on my computer that will not go away.

Guess its a choice I make.  Still does not give anybody the right to go into another's computer (or home) without permission.

Salute our Veterans for the Freedom we have.

I don't think Canada has a negative image.  I have never heard of one or anybody saying bad things except when an official calls our head of state names or something like that.  I have never been to Minnesota, Nebraska, etc. because I don't usually think of them as tourist destinations.  One usually thinks beach or mountains for vacation if lacking in imagination as most of us seem to be.  Or we just like beach/mountains.  It's the resorts that attract people.  They go to those.  I would have to go to Canada in the summer or I would freeze not being used to the cold weather.  It is very far from Alabama is another factor.

But it is certainly not anything bad about Canada and all I hear are positive things said about Canada like Alex Tribeck is from Canada the Jeopardy Guy.

People say horrible things about the South and yet we are full of tourists for some reason.  Think because it is on the way to the beach?  But they are crawling all over little cities like Chattanooga and Huntsville all the time and yet we are supposed to do things like KatGram was saying.  So not sure that reputation is the prob.  Location and maybe lack of resorts or attractions.  Not sure what the prob but don't think it is negative image about Canadians.  At least there is not one in the deep South and I know some people, several, who have made a road trip to and around in Canada and said it was wonderful.

I certainly share your sentiment about our veterans.  If not for them we would not have the freedoms that we enjoy and take for granted.  We owe them a lot.

Humm, me thinks there are different kinds of tourists, those that go to resort destinations (I suspicion somewhat affluent types) and those that enjoy traveling as much as the destination (I suspicion for mostly less affluent types).

Don't believe I've ever been to what would be officially described as a 'resort' but I've traveled to/thru about 45 or so of the continental states and have enjoyed a wonderous array of sites to behold.

You are right, there are likely as many reasons for tourism as there are tourists.  But I do see long lines at the attractions no matter how humble they may be.  
The Tennessee Aquarium is popular as is Rock City (Rock Silly as some call it) Confederama, etc. and the Space and Rocket Museum come to mind as places that always seem packed with tourist.

So to gator farms and bears in cages beside the road at service stations and just about anything from a worm farm on.  I don't get it with some of the things that people will go to see.  Caves for example around here.  They creep me out but my county has more caves than any other in the country and they are full of bats and guano and I don't really understand why some just love them.  But they do and we have to have a rescue squad accordingly.

And resorts are usually packed.  Just trying to think where the tourists actually go or congregate.  

This is a huge and varied country.  Sometimes I think it is too large.  But travel across it and I would think you could see just about a little of most everything.  No wonder we hold such different and varied views of things for we are a varied nation just because of space and distance.  I wish I had seen more of it but have been to only maybe half as many states as you have.  NYC and the barren deserts out west were most memorable to me.  Extreme opposites.  But then we have something for everybody I guess no matter what you are looking for.

Yeah, just wish all those barren spaces weren't filling up with people.

well, I hate to admit it but, this is not the case in Detroit.  They seemed to tighten up for a little while but not anymore.  I have been across the border a few times recently and it wasnt a big deal at all.  I do know a few Lebanese guys who "fit the profile" who are back and forth across the border constantly and every once in a great while they get stopped. (like a couple times a year compared to several crossings per week)

I don't know if anyone noticed, but I added a post last weekend to the John Mark Karr TV Interview thread.  He was quoted in the Contra Costa Times as saying "I think it is natural for little girls of 6 to experience the same wonderful climactic sexual feelings as girls of 16. . . . "  Now I realize that he has not been convicted of any crime, but that is the mentality that is out there, freely walking the streets.  

There is real evil oin the world, and children, the most vulnerable members of society, need to be protected.

The Queen looks like a very classy lady--chic ensemble and all.  She certainly stands out in the Aruban crowd who, aside from a few stuffed suits, do not appear to have dressed for the occasion.  I've always been told that the way you present yourself shows your respect for the people in your company.

A picture of a missing person talking to someone in a casino a few hours before she disappears.  Now the average 16 year old who has seen 2 episodes of Law & Order knows that the police should find out who it is.

 I was reading, I think it was last nights posts or this morning. You all were talking about Freddy and what kind of car he drove.  I remember a while back when you all were talking about what Jorans neighborhood looked like.  Maybe where Freddys house was in regard to Jorans. Anyway, I remember seeing a picture posted of a house, across the street from Jorans.  In front of that house, was a small white truck (it had it's door open) parked there.  Do you think that could be freddys truck?  Wasn't there something about a white truck in all this mess?
Anyway, maybe it's nothing, just thought I'd throw it out there.

Not sure if anyone else saw it, but when they first put up over the media those casino video's there was one part that showed Paulus standing up and facing the dealer. You could see it was Paulus perfectly. I kept telling those at the private site I was posting at the time about it and no one saw it. I saw that same clip about 6 times and know 100% positive it was Paulus sitting there.
It showed Paulus standing up, facing the dealer, smiling and what looked like he was speaking to the dealer. About a 5 second clip and you could see who it was clearly.

Good news!!:) Peter R de Vries is in Aruba and he already came with a link to one of the suspects. It turns out that one of the suspects (WHICH ONE???) threw someone ( I think a choller) into the sea a couple of years back and they think that there might be a connection there and he and his team is investigating this right now.

hmmm I hate to say it but that sounds more like self defense than criminal. I'd toss the bum into the water too if it was persistant and annoying and trying to strike up a fight, especially after the police removed the bum already one time.
Now looking at it from another view, Joran could of bodily harmed the bum and tossing it over the bridge. Pending how far the bum dropped and what is below it could possibly hit. And Joran could of called the police over once again to deal with it and escort the bum off again. IMHO

It is self defense if it really happened the way Sander is explaining it.  I don't believe it happened that way.  I believe that Joran was showing off in front of his friends and wanted to be a tough guy and naturally he picked on the weak again and did harm.  I don't see Joran running to the police because some bum was bothering him.  There is another side to this story.  Why would would the cops bring up a story like this to Sander unless it is known on the island what Joran did.  Once again this is probably the reason Joran was seeking psychiatric help.

It looks likes someone would get hurt falling off that bridge.

Thanks Peaches.  I do know that a series of screen captures from this video has gone to the FBI for review.  I really don't see a body but I know many do.  To me it's more likely there is clothing and such in that bag, possibly evidence.  Again...I could very well be wrong and it is a body.

According to message board posts by Aruban reporter/Joran supporter "Glenda", sometime on Saturday a girl later identified as Natalee by the FBI is captured on tape at a jewelry store in the Wyndham hotel, arguing with an unidentified male. Reportedly, the male wanted to purchase an item of jewelry, she insisted on purchasing it herself, they then took their argument outside the store. A civil filing by Joran's lawyer Joe Tacopina states as fact that the girl on the tape is Natalee. However according to a reliable personal source, as of the time this tape's existence was first made public in April 2006, Aruban polis had not recieved any information from the FBI regarding an identification of Natalee on the tape. Nor did polis have a copy of the tape, which allegedly was given directly to an FBI agent staying in the hotel, by the store manager (Tacopina 4/25/06 civil filing, "Glenda" 6/14, 7/11 postings).

I agree..she is an elegant person. I like her hats, her wardrobe, and her very kind demeanor. I am thinking little does she know how rot-gut crude Aruba really is. Perhaps behind the scenes she is being quickly educated about it, as we have been in the last year and a half.

If Joran did this in response to the guy irritating them, not physically threatening them, then it's probably not self-defense - except maybe in Aruba if your father is Paulus van der Sloot.  But there could be a connection here -- drugs? -- that we don't know about.  Does Joran sell this guy drugs?  Does he buy drugs from this guy?  It could also be one example of Joran losing his temper and doing someone bodily harm.

You are aware the FBI has done no such thing and will not comment on an ongoing investigation?  Posters just flat out lie about that.  It has been claimed the FBI verified just about evey aspect of the Joran supporter's agenda at one time or another and none of it is true.  Call them and ask if they did.

Most especially they are fond of claiming the FBI verified that Natalee ran away before which never happened and the FBI certainly has never verified any of that no matter who says they have.  The FBI would not even be the ones asked to identify the missing person but her family.  The FBI NEVER identifies a person when there is family to do so.  I am surprised you are not aware of that.  Both parents said it was not Natalee and not her in the HI lobby either.  

If there are known family or close association friends, the FBI defers to them for any and all identifications.  They NEVER take it upon themselves to identify anybody if there are those available who can do so from familial contact.  This is not even a good lie.  FBI's not going to say somebody is or isn't then have a family come along and say they were wrong.  I sure hope you don't believe this nor any of the other false claims of FBI verification.  Anyone can say the FBI did this and that but unless you have it in writing or the name of a contact agent I would advise you to consider the source.

Thanx, Peaches. I called my insurance company today and they are on it. They will hire an attorney to address the claims, fact find, investigate, etc. I was much relieved after speaking with the rep. He said they had been expecting it, as the 2 year statute of limitations was up just before the filing.

Down side to having a pet is we are going to outlive several of them over the course of a lifetime and it has been my experience that it does not get any easier with having lost one before.  Like children, each is too unique for that.  But fortunately the saving factor is that we humans have room in our hearts for many, many over the course of a lifetime so it does help that we can love more than one pet equally.

Your post is confusing.  I never suggested I believed this tape was legit.  The info I just added suggests it isn't.  

As for the original entry I'm not only putting things in the TL that I believe to be true.  This tape was mentioned in a legal filing and has been widely talked about so, it's worthy of mention in the TL.  Altho at some point I will separate out everything in the TL that lacks a non-message board source and move it to an appendix entitled Message Board Rumor/Hearsay, most of the jewelry store tape info and some of the HI tape info will go in that category.
