Product Recalls: children's multivitamins



The following recall has been announced:

FoodScience Corp. is recalling about 1,250 bottles of its children's multivitamins because the label indicates a stronger dosage than appropriate, possibly posing a health risk if the multivitamins are taken for an extended time. No illnesses or adverse events have been reported to date, according to the Essex Junction, Vt., company.

The recalled items are marketed under these brands:

- DaVinci Laboratories of Vermont Kid's Mighty Vites (90 tablet bottle); lot numbers: 6741500 0311; 6741600 0311; and 6988100 0311.

- FoodScience of Vermont Kids Superior (90 tablet bottle); lot numbers: 6741500 0311; 6741600 0311; 6988100 0311; and 7198100 0311.

- Mountain Naturals of Vermont Kid's Superior (90 tablet bottle); lot number 6741700 0311.

- Sherlock Vitamins Smart Strong Focus (60 tablet bottle); lot number 6747900 0311.

- Elders International, Inc. M10-8 Kids IQ Secret (90 tablet bottle); lot number 6830700 0311.

- Guyer Institute HEALTHY KIDS MV (90 tablet bottle); lot number 6784400 0311.

The recalled products were distributed throughout the U.S. and in Denmark, Kenya and New Zealand to retail stores, mail order companies, doctors and by direct delivery from March 12 through June 3 this year. The products were packaged in white bottles with a white child resistant bottle cap. For more information, consumers can call 800-451-5190.
