Title: Iran’s Ahmadinejad: Obama is acting like Bush ? Ya think or not?
Post by: nonesuche on June 25, 2009, 08:09:30 AM
It was only a matter of time IMO, before Iran began comparing Obama to Bush. Any pushback whatsoever was going to bring this forth, so much for human rights?

This is where I will lament if only our voters were more discerning and truly 'understood' the political games that are played.

Iran’s Ahmadinejad: Obama is acting like Bush

Editor's note: Iranian authorities have barred journalists  for international news organizations from reporting on the streets and ordered them to stay in their offices. This report is based on the accounts of witnesses reached in Iran and official statements carried on Iranian media.

TEHRAN, Iran - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused Barack Obama of behaving like his White House predecessor and called on him to apologize for what he called U.S. interference following Iran's elections.

Obama has ramped up his previously muted criticism, saying he was "appalled and outraged" by a crackdown on protests which followed Ahmadinejad's disputed re-election.

"Mr. Obama made a mistake to say those things ... our question is why he fell into this trap and said things that previously (former U.S. President George W.) Bush used to say," the semi-official Fars News Agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.

From the above link ~

"I am not ready to withdraw from demanding the rights of the Iranian people," Mousavi said, adding that he was determined to prove electoral fraud.

The Iranians seem to demonize the U.S. as the 'The Great Satan'.

Are the anti-Christ and The Great Satan really ancient code words for big government, dictators, and fascism?  Turning men into Gods?

While Americans are losing their rights, Iranians are protesting for freedom.  If Iranians get more freedoms, maybe the people wouldn't go along with their governments stance towards the U.S.?  Not sure about many things Iranian, so I have lots of speculation.

Were the Iranian people, the young, given false hope by the Obama administration?  Looking to unclench the fist and find some common ground?  Only to find out that nothing but false worlds come from Obama and his government?

Perhaps Obama was goading Iran into make nuclear threats as an excuse to invade?  A ploy?  Expand the the Obama surge from Afghanistan into Iran?

Another example of Obama doing the opposite of what his words suggest?

"Peace" in word only?

There are alot of misconceptions about what's going on in Iran.
First, Obama isn't the king of the world and he can't do anything to change the situation in Iran. He doesn't have that power or right.
Second, Mousavi isn't such a nice guy and isn't about "freedom" or "peace". Instead he is one of the founding fathers of Hezbollah. In the West we like to believe that everyone wants peace and freedom and that's simply not the goal of Islam.
Finally, the Mullahs are a council that picks the candidates for election. Similar to the former Soviet Union there is no choice for the people. Meanwhile Iran is pulling off a genocide that will grow like Hitler's. The woman that was shot in the back, Neda, was a Christian. Iran also holds religious minorities in prisons all over the country. The goal of Islam is to have the entire planet follow Islam. They will not stop until they accomplish this.

jjay - that ultimately is the core point to this. our voters (who elected Obama) can't seem to discern illusion and rhetoric from global reality. Iran respects NO ONE, not any leader we deliver up.

Countries like Iran and South Korea who are more than willing to commit genocide in order to advance their political agenda - will also always guarantee that "conversation" alone cannot keep us safe. How different is it from the advice given often to women having to walk to and from parking lots unattended - don't look or walk like a victim or you will be victimized in certain crime areas of our cities.
