I dont think Misty can file any charges, I think since Ronald already had thats the end of it.........I can bet you that if they check the phone records it will prove that Misty did call her family to come get her.....then lied because Ronald was there and when they called back out of concern, she told the, not to come ....everything was fine.....I wonder what is next.....something will certainly come down because of all this...

The Department of Children and Families closed an abuse investigation into Cummings last month and found no evidence against him in his daughter's disappearance.

Cummings and Croslin both agreed to complete parenting classes.

I find the burglary charge a bit far fetched. Assault or battery, yes, but burglary??

Sykes tells Action News she doesn't know why Hank Croslin Sr., Hank Croslin Jr. and Lisa Croslin came over to her home after Ronald got in a fight with Croslin Jr. earlier in the day. She says the men fought several times in her front yard and tried to get Misty, Ronald’s wife, to go home with them. Sykes says Ronald went into her home, came out, and punched Croslin Jr. to keep him from taking Misty away. She says the Croslins left and minutes later Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies showed up and arrested Ronald.           ( I wonder what the fight was about earlier in the day? )

I am pretty sure that Ron laid hands on Misty and the family came over to rescue her. She  may have even called them and asked them to help. Once they got there she changed her mind. She is terrified of Ron. And I am pretty sure that is why she wears long sleeves. She knows what happened and is too scared to tell. Too bad Ron did not stay in jail and give her time to come to her senses. All of this is IMO only of course!

I'm on the same page as you are.

A lot of people where long sleeves here in Florida, usually light colors though. Some say it keeps them cooler, some do it to keep the sun off of them. I was thinking more along the lines of covering up bruises or even track marks.

I'm glad Haleigh is getting some media attention but sad it took an act of violence to make it so.

PALATKA, Fla. -- The father of a missing Putnam County girl was bonded out of jail by his wife on Thursday after just 12 hours.
Ronald Cummings was arrested and booked into the Putnam County Jail on charges of burglary and simple battery. He made a first appearance in court and bond was set at $12,504.

The Croslins said Misty called them in the middle of the night asking them to pick her up because she didn't want to live with Cummings anymore -- so they went to get their daughter.
"An argument ensued between the Croslins and Ronald Cummings, which ultimately resulted in a physical confrontation. The Croslins reported that Ronald Cummings assaulted them," Rick Ryan of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said.

The family was finally able to drive away and dialed 911 for help. Deputies eventually spoke with Cummings.

"Cummings exercised his right not to talk to the officers, and based on their investigation and what the witnesses stated, Cummings was subsequently arrested," Ryan said.

Haleigh Cummings, 5, was reported missing from her home in Satsuma in February, and no trace of the girl was been found. A $35,000 reward remains available for her return.

"We're still investigating those leads, and we're still interviewing people routinely," Ryan said.

I agree with ya on this.  She is a "classic battered wife".  My opinion but I have a family member whom I witnessed it for 30 years and this little girl is just like my family member who was abused (I saw it twice and begged and pleaded but she would not listen).

MOO I believe Ron is an abuser and always will be, he seems to have anger and control issues and that's why he's suspicious to me in Haleigh's disappearance as it's not a huge jump to consider he and Misty could have gotten into a knock down drag out fight that Haleigh could have gotten into the middle after her three day drug and sex bender with WBG.

My mother who was a victim of spousal abuse, always had the bruises on her face.  Also black eyes galore.  I'm wondering in Misty's case if the long sleeves are not to hide drug injection places?  Or perhaps the bruising that comes with sloppy injections.

I believe Misty did call her brother to come get her, looks to me like Ronald had already hit Misty and thats why the phone call was made, now because of the big fight Misty says thats how she got hit, something needs to break with this case, its obvious that they are hiding something, too bad Ronald got out this soon, given a few days away from him might have made a world of difference in Misty and there's no telling what she might have let slip...

So glad others noticed as well that Misty does not appear to be her old youthful petite self . . . we always saw pics of her with tight low-rise jeans; this pic shows her looking a bit plumpish & matronly in baggy pants. Hmmm......... anybody else thinking what I'm thinking? Wouldn't be at all surprising if she was preggers, no? (Goodness knows whose it is!)

With regards to the long sleeved shirt - agree with you all - abuse is probably a given, and needle/drug use would not be at all surprising, now would it?

The only thing about this cse that has surprised me is that Ronald was able to contain himself from getting in trouble for almost 6 whole months,,,well that we know of anyway.

Great point indeed . . . in fact, maybe LE has been just WAITING for him to slip up . . . although they didn't keep him detained for long. Unfortunately. (Let those prison guards ply some info out of him!) There's no way that he stopped using/dealing drugs, partaking in drunken carousing & brawls, etc. etc. etc. for 6 whole months, as you pointed out. Somehow been flying under the media's radar - but hopefully not LE's.

But Ronald Cummings said the Croslins showed up at his grandmother's home after Misty Cummings told them not to come, the report says. He said the Croslins approached him in an "aggressive" way. Cummings said he ended up pushing Hank Croslin Jr. when he came too close and then fought with both men. Cummings said the father held him while the son hit him, according to the report.

This makes no sense at all.  Why would they come to get Misty if Misty hadn't called and asked for help?

Thats my question also, you can bet she called and then didnt want Ronald to know she did so this is the reason she is acting like its all her families fault,,,  just crazy..

Thanks for the pics Jersey, the kangaroo store is really just right there at Granny Sykes house, if I was Misty I believe i would have jumped in the truck with my brother and got the heck out of there, but then Ronald could have threatened her family if she left with them, and no one knows better then Misty just what Ronald is capable of.....Im sure she has seen it first hand.

Yes - or before someone else gets hurt.  I think my hope that she was taken to Tn or somewhere is fading fast.  IMHO, Misty knows something Ron did or vice versa. 

I have always believed that Haleigh was gone before the first 911 call was made, and yes....someone else is gonna get hurt if someone doesnt spill the beans soon.....Im still not clear on just what happened to Haleigh, but I really think Ronald most likely hurt her and Misty saw it all..........JMO

no one on either side of this family has clean hands it seems....drugs/alcohol has played a big part in all of their lives from what we have seen and heard...and read in police reports..it is sad that one day these little ones involved in this family will be able to  look up police reports on their parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles and friends of the family...not to mention, worst of all,  a missing child in the mix....
will these kids have a chance growing up to be productive human beings or will they follow in their parent's footsteps? they see and learn from example...

I honestly believe that Misty did call her family that night to come and get her...I think that perhaps she did this behind Ron's back...the family showed up wanting Misty to leave with them..Ron, not knowing that Misty called her family thought that they were at his home to start problems with him and Misty...Meanwhile, Misty lies (again!) to Ron and says that she doesn't know why they are there..either out of fear or they had already made up after the fight that they had been in...and she changed her mind about wanting out...the phone records will show who called who and since Ron was arrested we will be able to find out because of the Sunshine law right?

I really believe that the family came over to help Misty, and it upsets me that she is breaking ties by trying to get a restraining order on her brother. I do feel that Misty's family do care about harm coming to her, and they were doing what most families would do, go over and get her because she was so upset.

School supply drive planned in connection with missing girl's birthday

The maternal family of a missing Putnam County girl has planned a school supply drive in connection with her sixth birthday. Haleigh Cummings, who was last seen nearly six months ago, disappeared from her father's home early in the morning on February 10. Her sixth birthday is on August 17.

Early Friday morning, Haleigh’s mother, Crystal Sheffield, and maternal grandmother, Marie Griffis, announced the school supply drive and issued another plea for anyone with information about the little girl to call investigators.

Haleigh, who has blond hair and brown eyes, weighed 39 pounds and was three feet tall when she was last seen by her younger brother, father and father's girlfriend at her father's home in Satsuma, which is about 75 miles east of Gainesville.

On August 17, Haleigh's birthday, several of her maternal relatives will be Riverfront Park in Palatka from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. to accept donations of school supplies Browning Pearce Elementary School, the school Haleigh had been attending. Only school supplies will be accepted. No cash donations will be accepted, according to a news release issued Friday morning.

In the news release, family members said the supplies will be delivered to the school to establish what they are calling Haleigh's Closet, a place school supplies will be available to teachers and students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade at Browning Pearce.

The family also said that they will accept school supplies shipped to Haleigh’s maternal grandmother Marie Griffis, 12222 Mud Lake Rd., Glen St. Mary FL, 32040.

In announcing the school supply drive in Haleigh's name, her maternal relatives also issued another plea for anyone with information about Haleigh to call the Putnam County Sheriff's Office at (386)329-0808 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 888-277-TIPS.

A reward fund of $35,000 has been established for information leading to her recovery or the conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.

Since I basically know nothing about DCF and their workings, except what I read on this board, is there any chance that they may look into this again, regarding little Ron Jr?

As the six-month anniversary of Haleigh Cummings' disappearance approaches, her mother released statement today saying she continues to search for her daughter and is not giving up her fight.

The 5-year-old girl vanished from her bed in rural Satsuma in Putnam County in February.

Sunday will mark the six-month anniversary of the last time she was seen.

Her father's then-girlfriend put Haleigh to bed about 10 p.m. Feb. 9 while father Ronald Cummings was working. Then she discovered Haleigh missing about at about 3:30 a.m. Feb. 10.

Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, was at her home in Baker County near the Florida- Georgia state line at the time of her daughter's disappearance.

Authorities have classified what has happened as an abduction. In her statement, Crystal Sheffield pleaded for her daughter's return.

"Although it has almost been six months since Haleigh's disappearance, I still have hope that my daughter will come home," Crystal Sheffield said in the statement. "I will continue to do whatever it takes to keep her face out in the public for everyone to see. I ask if anyone out there knows anything to please call Crime Stoppers or your local police.

The girl's birthday is Aug. 17.

"Haleigh is about to be six years old, I am begging once again from the bottom of my heart for whoever has my sweet daughter to let her go," the statement added. "Please, she needs to be home with her family, she does not belong with anyone else. This is tearing my heart out of my chest, a part of me is missing and that is Haleigh."

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Putnam County Sheriff's Office at 386-329-0808 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS, the statement said.

well normally getting a restraining order on any one is a double edged sword... if something like this happens and you don't get one then you are at fault for not protecting your home from a dangerous person... but if you do get one then they tell you well your home is not safe because you have documented that a dangerous person might go there in the future and a piece of paper will not stop an assault from happening again...
it really depends on how dcf wants to look at it

Ronald Cummings speaks for the first time since his arrest

WELAKA, Fla. -– 24 hours after making bail at the Putnam County Jail for a burglary with assault charge, Ronald Cummings invited Action News to his home to speak about what the next few weeks will hold for him and his family. Monday will mark six months since his daughter disappeared from their Satsuma home. One week later is Haleigh’s 6th birthday.

“I just try to stay strong for Haleigh, that’s all,” said Cummings.

Sitting in a rocking recliner at his home, Cummings was wearing the t-shirt made for him with his daughter’s face on it. All around his home are reminders of the little girl who was about to turn 6-years-old on August 17th.

“I’m never going to give up on my child. What father can give up on their child?”

Cummings says there are several things bothering him about the investigation into who took his daughter from his home. He says the thing that bothers him the most is that Sheriff’s Officers are not giving him weekly updates on how the investigation is going.

“They don’t contact me to let me know what’s going on. You’d think once a week, or once every two weeks they’d contact me and let me know what they’re doing to try and find her. They act like they don’t do anything,” said Cummings.

“It would make me feel better that they’re letting me know what they’re doing to find my daughter. It’s not going to make me feel great until my daughter comes home.”

Ronald’s grandmother Annette Sykes showed Action News never before seen photos of Haleigh during her first birthday party. Sykes says every one of her children or grandchildren always get their own birthday cake at parties to do with as they please. In the three photos Sykes showed Action News, one photo shows Haleigh smiling with her hand on the cake, the next shows her scraping her fingers along the frosting, and the final shows her with a mouthful of cake grinning from ear to ear.

Ronald says each of Haleigh’s 5 birthdays have been spent with a big celebration. He says they always ended with a birthday cake.

“Birthday cake, some kind of a party whether it’s a skating rink or pool, just party with her friends,” said Cummings.

Action News confirmed with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office that the investigation into Haleigh’s disappearance has not gone cold. Investigators say once a month they meet to discuss any and all leads, and compare notes. We have also learned the chief investigator has changed, and is now being headed up by a deputy who was one of the first on the scene of the disappearance back on February 10th.

Ronald tells Action News he plans on holding a candlelight vigil for Haleigh at his church on Sunday. He also says on the 17th, he and his family will launch balloons in remembrance of her birthday. Cummings says each of those balloons will have a flier with her face and information on it so wherever it pops, someone will see her face.

Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh’s mother, is also doing something special to honor Haleigh’s birthday. Sheffield tells Action News several of her relatives will be at Riverfront Park in Palatka from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accept donations of school supplies for Browning Pearce Elementary School, the school Haleigh attended. Only school supplies will be accepted, no cash.

I think that Misty does look pg in the  clipping of her and gr grandma Sykes coming out of the jail...my sister in law is petite like Misty and all she ever showed was a little ball in front ....from the back and front you could barely tell that she was expecting only from the side view....Ron never had a problem hand delivering Misty to her brothers before why now? maybe she is carrying his child?.....isn't it strange how the brother always ends up in the middle of all of Mistys drama except for the night that Haleigh went missing and he was so close he could have just run right over..... and again there is Sykes running to clean up Rons messes...... ::MonkeyConfused::

Man accused of sexually abusing 4 yr. old

Investigators say Biegenwald sexually abused a young girl.
PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A local man is accused sexually abusing a young girl. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Randy Dean Biegenwald.

Investigators say they received a call from the girl's mother in May of this year She told them her four-year-old daughter was possibly victimized by Biegenwald between January 2006 and July 2008.

Biegenwald was booked into the Putnam County jail Wednesday night on charges of capital sexual battery and lewd or lascivious behavior with a victim under the age of twelve. He is being held without bond.

On RANDY  DEAN  BIEGENWALD  Putnam County arrest records I see that it shows two different locations for him, one in Satsuma and one in Palatka.  Searching the white pages, I did not find an address for Randy, but there is one for a Stephen Biegenwald at 626 Kirby St, which is down around the Crill Ave (the Huddle House), 2.3 mi.

Police deny rumors that they found Haleigh's body

On Friday, the day Haleigh Cummings' mother announced an event to mark her missing daughter's sixth birthday in hopes of keeping the brown-eyed blonde in the news, police in Putnam County released a statement to quell a rumor that the girl's body had been found.

Lt. Johnny Greenwood, a spokesman for the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, said the department fielded three calls Friday from reporters who said they heard Haleigh was found dead, either in Putnam County or Jacksonville.

"We just want to get (the rumor) stopped before it gets to out of control," Greenwood said after sending an e-mail to media outlets stating the "rumor is false."


The reporters -- two from local outlets and the other from NBC -- did not say where they heard the rumor, he said.

Greenwood said the department reacted so quickly to the rumor because detectives did not want anyone thinking the case was closed.

"We don't want people to think this is over. They still need to look," he said. "Somebody out there knows something. Somebody out there has the one piece of information that we need to break this open."

Haleigh has been missing since Feb. 10, when she reportedly disappeared from her father's home in Satsuma, about 10 miles south of Palatka.

At about 3:30 that morning, Ronald Cummings' live-in 17-year-old girlfriend, Misty Croslin, called police to say Haleigh was gone.

Croslin, who has since married Cummings, told a dispatcher that she woke up and discovered the rear door to their manufactured home had been propped open.

She said she locked the door before going to bed.

On Friday morning, a spokeswoman sent out a statement from Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh's mother, pleading for the girl's return.

"I still have hope that my daughter will come home," the statement quoted Sheffield as saying. "I will continue to do whatever it takes to keep her face out in the public for everyone to see."

Sheffield, who lives in Glen St. Mary, announced an event would be held to mark Haleigh's birthday and to solicit school supplies for "students who are in need" at her school.

The event, at Riverfront Park in Palatka, is scheduled for Aug. 15 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The girl's birthday is two days later.

The spokeswoman, Ellen Johnson, did not return phone calls or an e-mail left for comment.

Several events have kept Haleigh's face in the news after she went missing, but most stories have revolved around her family.

Cummings and Croslin's marriage in March was highly publicized, given his missing daughter and her age.

On Wednesday night, Cummings was arrested at his grandmother's home in Welaka after a fistfight with his wife's father and brother.

Cummings was charged with burglary with assault or battery, a first-degree felony, and was released from jail on bond Thursday.

He allegedly went into his in-laws' car as they were trying to leave and hit the brother.

Misty Cummings' brother told police she called him crying, saying she didn't want to be at home with her husband and asking for him to pick her up.

However, she denied asking for help and said she told her brother not to come over.

"We really don't know what the fight was about," Greenwood said.

Meantime, he wants the focus to stay on Haleigh.

The Sheriff's Office has received roughly 5,000 tips in the case, but few have been fruitful.

"A lot of tips are people's theories," he said. "We need good information."

SATSUMA - Riverside firefighters responding to a houseboat fire on Cleo Lane were met with an unusual sight, Fire Chief Ray Steybe said.

"I don't ever remember chasing a fire down the river - this is a first," Steybe said.

"I literally watched my fire floating down the river."

Steybe said when his units arrived at 121 Cleo Lane at about 3 p.m. Friday they were met with a houseboat (about 60 feet in length) fully engulfed and an adjacent small dockside apartment burning.

"We had to go to a second alarm because the houseboat broke loose and floated into the channel (on Dunns Creek)," he said.

Twelve units from Pomona Park, Satsuma, San Mateo, Crescent City and Palatka fire departments were dispatched for the two-alarm fire, he added.

Firefighters extinguished the apartment fire within 30 minutes. Nearby residents took to their boats and kept the burning remains of the floating home in the center of Dunns Creek away from any other homes or docks.

Steybe said no one was in the apartment or in the houseboat when the fire occurred and there were no injuries to firefighters who fought the two blazes.

Putnam County Fire Marshal Allen Peacock said the fire started on the boat before spreading to the dockside apartment.

"We are still trying to ascertain where the fire started on the boat," he said.

Peacock said this fire was a little bit unusual because of the boat floating away.

"No one was home at the time of the fire and we are being assisted by the state fire marshal's office during the investigation," he said.

Neighbor John Beeson said when he ran to the dock he saw that the apartment and boat were fully engulfed.

"I've never seen anything like that before," he said.

"When the houseboat broke loose and floated downstream where there were houses, we were afraid it would burn them."

Resident Ruby Bangs said when she came out of her back door she saw black smoke.

"The houseboat was on fire really bad," she said. "It must have caught the apartment on fire."

Bangs said when the boat broke loose from its moorings, it started to float into a nearby canal.

"It was going into the first canal and fishermen got it and pulled it to the center of Dunns Creek," she said.

Steybe said Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officers towed the boat to a grassy area near the north shore of Dunns Creek where it wouldn't threaten any structures while the fire was extinguished.

The boat was later moved back to its original mooring.

"The houseboat and the apartment are both total losses," he said.

I think that both Ron and Crystal have done some very wrong things, maybe have not always made the right decisions and have made mistakes along the way, haven't we all?  but I have no doubt in my mind that BOTH of these parents love this child very much and want her back home with her family...JMO.....they both need some parenting classes ....I think that they are probably doing the best that they can do with the "tools" that they have been given to work with....I hope that they both get a second chance with Haleigh..with some healthy parenting classes behind them...jmo.....

Cops have few clues in case of Haleigh Cummings, girl missing for months

Six months ago, 5-year-old Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings vanished after her father's girlfriend put her to bed.

The 3-foot, 3-inch girl from Satsuma hasn't been seen since.

In the ensuing months, deputies have continued a search for Haleigh that has brought few clues since the early days of the case, and her family has faced media and law-enforcement scrutiny.

"It's still an active case; we have the same investigators assigned," Lt. Johnny Greenwood of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said. "Every tip that comes in, we investigate."

In the days after Haleigh's disappearance, family members made several television appearances to plead for the little girl's return. They have been less vocal recently.

The Florida Department of Children and Families investigated child-abuse claims against Ronald Cummings, 25, Haleigh's father, made by the girl's mother, Crystal Sheffield. At the time of his daughter's disappearance, Cummings lived with Haleigh, 3-year-old son Ronald Jr. and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Misty Croslin. Cummings and Croslin married in March.

Greg Kimball, an attorney with the Palatka firm of Kimball and Snider, represented the Cummings family from about a month after Haleigh's disappearance until DCF closed its case in July with no findings of abuse.

"I don't think we have any plans to get back into the fray," Kimball said.

Cummings was arrested last week at his grandmother's house in Welaka after a fight with some of his wife's relatives.

Hank Croslin Jr., brother of Misty Cummings, said Ronald Cummings hit him several times. Cummings was booked into the Putnam County Jail on Thursday morning on a charge of burglary with assault or battery. He later posted bail of $12,504 and left the jail.

Sheffield, who lives in Baker County not far from the Georgia line, said Friday in a prepared statement that she still is hoping for her daughter's safe return.

"Haleigh is about to be 6 years old, I am begging once again from the bottom of my heart for whoever has my sweet daughter to let her go," Sheffield wrote.

Misty Cummings said she put Haleigh to bed about 10 p.m. Feb. 9 and woke about 3:30 a.m. to find the girl missing. She called 911. Ronald Cummings then joined the call when he returned home from work, saying he needed assistance and would kill the person who had taken his daughter.

Deputies noted that, although a screen door at the home had been propped open, there was no sign of forced entry.

No suspects have emerged in the search for Haleigh.

There have been no breakthroughs in the case — and sometimes tips have been counterproductive.

Just last week, Greenwood had to publicly deny an unconfirmed rumor that the girl's body had been found.

"We didn't need that misinformation getting out to the public," he said.

Although the Sheriff's Office still considers the Haleigh investigation to be a missing-persons case, one of the two investigators assigned to the case is a homicide detective.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information about Haleigh's disappearance to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-8477.

I read that article Klaas posted.. It make you wonder why Le can set aside certain rumors but why can't they set aside other rumors... Like for instance Ron's work hours was it 8 or 10 and if it was 8 did he get in work late was he on time ect.. LE is so closed lip and today its been 6 months and no Haleigh... You know how transcripts have been know to be wrong?  Transposed incorrectly?  You know how if I tell someone something and then they are under pressure (say, camera) to repeat it and they repeat it wrong?  Or if I tell my mother in law I'm going to work and she doesn't stop and think I work twelve and fourteen hour shifts, in her mind I work eight....I'm just wondering if the Preacher "said" it wrong.  Or if in his mind everyone works eight hours....I sure would like to ask him. 

Course, as you all say, it's stupid that LE hasn't come right out and TOLD us what hours Ronald worked.  Would clear ONE QUESTION off the desk.  Sheesh.  Jersey, you might be right...them withholding could very well be hurting the case and causing these rumors that they spend so much time putting out.

in regards to the hours that Ron worked,,,it is what the pastor said, not what Ron had said and could very well have been said wrong... as Thunder stated above....jmo....the standard for working a shift is normally 8 hr shifts, so perhaps that is where that came from?

Grandmother wants peace but sees too many issues

Six months into the unsolved disappearance of Haleigh Cummings, those who deeply love her believe she is still alive.

It’s about the only thing the two families closest to the investigation of her disappearance agree on.

With Monday marking the six-month anniversary of her case and next week’s arrival of her sixth birthday, her divided family has even scheduled separate events in Putnam County.

“It doesn’t matter what anybody says, we just want the safe return of Haleigh,” said Annette Sykes, whose grandson Ronald Cummings is Haleigh’s father. “Nothing else matters.”

Cummings and Crystal Sheffield, the long-estranged parents of Haleigh and her 4-year-old brother Ronald Jr., see each other only to exchange the boy at a pre-arranged stop in Florahome, about midway between Cummings’ home in southern Putnam County and Sheffield’s in western Baker County.

Tension between Cummings, Sheffield and their families has hummed like high-voltage background noise since the beginning of the case.

Sheffield’s mother, Marie Griffis, said law enforcement authorities have asked the two families not to have contact beyond the exchanges of Ronald Jr.

“I feel like that maybe if the families could speak with each other and put differences aside that maybe it would help the case, but there is too much going on down there and it is being pushed our way to blame us for what happened in Putnam County,” Griffis said from her home outside Sanderson where Sheffield also lives.

She said her family has been accused of abducting Haleigh and hiding her with family out of state.

She said she has no idea how her granddaughter vanished but said the kindergartner was living with Cummings and his 17-year-old girlfriend when she was reported missing.

“I don’t know what, I don’t know how but they were the last people to see my granddaughter,” Griffis said. “They’re the last two people to see her. They’re accountable for her whereabouts.”

Cummings said he and former girlfriend Misty Croslin — who he has since married and is now Misty Cummings — have been unfairly targeted.

“There should have been more attention to Crystal’s family,” he said. “I think they should have paid more attention to everyone rather than just me and Misty.”

He said questioning should have been broader.

“They didn’t have the big picture,” he said. “Why do they not question everybody?”

Cummings: It went ‘personal’

In recent interviews at Sykes’ Welaka home where Ronald Cummings, 25, and his wife live, he told the Times-Union the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office focus was shortsighted.

Standing outside wearing T-shirts with Haleigh’s likeness, Ronald and Misty Cummings said they gave dozens of hours of interviews in February and March, including her longest, which she said occurred just before the couple were married.

“I think the longest time I was in there was eight hours,” she said.

Ronald Cummings said the investigation went in the wrong direction.

“They took a child-abduction investigation and made it a personal investigation,” he said. “Instead of keeping the focus on finding Haleigh, they made the focus on Misty and what she was doing one weekend and what happened six months ago and what happened seven years ago. It was tunnel vision.”

Cummings has cut off interviews with investigators.

“Besides ‘No I didn’t have nothing to do with my child being missing,’ what do you say?” he asked.

Maj. Gary Bowling, director of law enforcement for the department, said detectives would like to interview Cummings again but have been resisted.

The interviews with Misty Cummings have produced different pictures, he said. She was alone with Cummings’ children the night Haleigh disappeared. She has told authorities she woke up about 3 a.m. and found the 5-year-old missing.

“We’ve said from day one Misty’s story is absolutely filled with inconsistencies,” Bowling said.

Cummings was at work the night his daughter vanished and came home as the 911 call to authorities was being made.

He has not worked since that last night shift, then lost his job because he did not stay in contact, according to the company. Cummings said he has not been able to find another job and does not know if he can go back to work.

“Each day gets harder and harder,” he said.

He moved from the mobile home where Haleigh vanished and said he still cannot go there.

“We don’t even want to be in that area,” he said.

Cummings, who has a minor criminal background, was arrested early Thursday after an altercation with a brother of his wife and her parents.

Sykes, who saw part of the fight, said Cummings’ arrest was another difficult turn, a distraction from an attempt to heighten awareness of Haleigh’s disappearance.

“We’re trying to do something positive for Haleigh and then something like this happens,” she said Thursday.

Theories abound

Pressures have come from all sides and been kept alive on the Web where bloggers argue and speculate, said family members and others in the case.

Griffis said she has become accustomed to accusations.

“If  there is inconsistencies that the police know about on our side of the family, they need to come question us,” she said. “I want them to question us.”

Mainstream media attention has waned, she said.

“All the interest is just that, it is in the blogs,” she said.

She has been accused of masterminding an abduction, that Haleigh is somewhere with other family members, she said.

She has asked to take a lie detector test and was given a voice stress analysis.

The next step should be for detectives to name those who are no longer suspects, she said.

“You need to start excluding the people that you know do not have this information,” she said.

Bowling said it takes rock-solid alibis before detectives can eliminate anyone and those have not been established. He said the best that can be done is assign degrees of suspicion to people.

“Where is the responsibility in saying somebody is not a suspect?” he said.

Sheffield, 24, is more blunt about Cummings.

“I really do feel like he is covering for Misty and she is covering for him,” she said.

In the early months of the case, a small, vacant building in Satsuma was painted purple and opened as an information center and informal listening post near the Satsuma neighborhood where Haleigh disappeared.

The Haleighbug Center was closed after Sheffield had medical problems that included seizures. Shirts and posters, donated toys and other items were brought to Baker County where Sheffield lives on family property with her fiance, their toddler daughter and his two children.

“I searched all I could down there,” she said. “My body couldn’t take it.

“Sometimes I sit and I think and I think and I think about where she could be and it drives me crazy.”

Griffis said the sense of loss deepens every day.

“It is just a lot of not knowing,” she said. “We are constantly questioning why this happened.”

Not giving up

Posters with Haleigh’s face that were once pasted to storefronts and car windows are fewer and fewer.

At Ronies Food in Glen St. Mary, a laminated poster still stands beneath a window sign advertising a lunch menu.

Jamie Taylor, whose family owns the restaurant, said taking it down would be like giving up. She said it seemed as if detectives never had much to go on.

“It’s kind of hard to take it down,” she said. “I know if it was my daughter I wouldn’t take it down until she was found.”

Both families hold on to the belief that Haleigh is alive and have organized reminders of her upcoming birthday and that it’s been six months since she’s been seen.

“I believe she is still alive,” Griffis said. “And that Ronald and Misty they are the key to it.”

Among the events will be a school supply drop-off and a prayer vigil the families have organized independently. A balloon release is scheduled to increase awareness that she remains gone.

“We don’t want World War III,” Sykes said. “It doesn’t matter what anybody says we just want the safe return of Haleigh.”

At a scheduled meeting on Monday, July 13 between Putnam County Sheriff’s Department officials and Teresa Neves, paternal grandmother of missing five year-old HaLeigh Cumming, PCSD officials viciously berated the heart-sick grandmother and threatened her with imprisonment.

  The only people present at the private meeting were Putnam County Sheriff’s Department officials: Detective Peggy Cone, Captain Dominic Piscatello, Undersheriff Rick Ryan, as well as Teresa Neves.

Within hours of that meeting Ft. Lauderdale Private Detective William ‘Cobra’ Staubs, who says he has contacts, knew all the details of what was done and said at the meeting.

Staubs’ version is consistent with others who know about the meeting (audio attached.)

“They tore her ass up,” Staubs said. “Listen man, she could be committing suicide tonight, I mean, it was that bad,” he said. “Man they got her f---in crying man - they tore her ass up. They tore her ass up!”

“She went to the cop station to find out what happened to her f----n grand-daughter,” Staubs said, expressing dismay at what the officials did to Neves. “That’s f----in grandma man! Grandma lost her kid!”

According to Staubs, the officials were accusing Neves of disclosing their investigative tactics.

“[The police] are going to send everybody out,” Staubs said, disclosing a prediction he received from his inside source at the department. “They’re going to start threatening everybody. They’re trying to control it.”   

Expressing outrage at the recent tactics of the PCSD as it appears to become more and more paranoid each day, Staubs said the investigation seems to be hopelessly challenged and is in need of an investigation conducted solely by the FBI.

“You better figure out what you’re going to do. Are you going put an innocent grandma who’s hurting, looking for her kid, in jail? GLEN ST. HaLeigh's maternal grandmother Marie Griffis has not given up the fight either.

"It's been an agonizing six months since my granddaughter's disappearance and it is pure torture waking up each morning wondering where she may be; if she is okay, if she is being fed, clothed and given 'love' most of all. More importantly is where is HaLeigh? I never imagined ever having to go through such pain, but we will get up and continue in our daily task of finding HaLeigh. Although there have been obstacles in the way that have slowed us almost to a stop in our search for HaLeigh, we have pushed through that and now are back on track. This is just the beginning of our efforts to find HaLeigh. We will never stop looking for HaLeigh and never give up even when the road gets rough, it's rough every day but we will prevail.

Why is ROn trying so freaking hard to divert any attention from himself or Misty, they were the last to see her and he's so d@mn defensive about anyoe getting into hhis "personal" business....but, isn't that what LE HAS to do???? Why stop cooperating with LE unless he has something to hide??? I just don't get it, uf he really wants his daughter found he should answer any and all questions they have, I don't care if he thinks they are relevant or not just get over your worry about yourself and aswer LE's questions and that goes for Misty too. After reading this article, it's pretty clear to me who the focus of the investigation is on and I agree that these two indeed hold the key. He needs to quit whining and man up already as this is n't about what he wants, it's about Haleigh

Thoughts on the Haleigh Cummings case

I have been following the Haleigh Cummings case since the girl disappeared from her Satsuma, Florida home on February 10. Six months later Haleigh is still missing; and as far as is known publicly there have been no major developments in the investigation of late.

With the police remaining tight-lipped, where can people go to get credible information? To be honest, I find the options to be limited. The case has gone cold in the national media; and I understand there is a lack of interest by the local news reporters as well.

Thankfully there are still a few outlets that remain attentive to Haleigh’s situation. Among them is Simon Barrett’s reporting on Blogger News Network and on his Blog Talk Radio show. And the reporting of TJ Hart, News Director for Florida station The Sky, at 97.3 FM.

However, in addition to the apparent lack of progress in the investigation itself, I am becoming increasingly frustrated by the circus atmosphere surrounding this case. A fiction writer would be hard pressed to create the number of unique characters, egos, sub-plots and hidden agendas that exist here.

Although I was aware that Internet blogs are rife with unsubstantiated rumors and outright lies, I didn’t truly appreciate the depth of the side issues until I listened to Simon Barrett’s show yesterday. Not only are some bloggers running amok, but some of the key players are involved in vendettas against one another and using Haleigh’s disappearance as a vehicle to get their revenge or accomplish their goals.

As an example, let’s take a look at what happened to bail bondsman and bounty hunter William “Cobra” Staubs. Mr. Staubs arrived in the Satsuma area with the honorable intention of helping to find Haleigh. However, his efforts were cut short when he ran afoul of attorney Kim Picazio. Staubs suddenly found himself under arrest and his business license suspended. He is currently thousands of dollars in debt due to the mounting legal fees required to fight what he says are bogus charges.

It appears that many of Staubs’ legal problems can be placed at the feet of Ms. Picazio. Her brother-in-law was on the program yesterday and said that Picazio stated in his presence that she planned to destroy Staubs professionally and financially.

But she isn’t the only source of grief for the bondsman. Staubs himself disclosed yesterday that there is an active effort to run Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy out of office. According to Staubs, there are several factions within and outside of the department that want Hardy gone for various reasons. He said he was even offered a cash payment to set Hardy up to take a fall. It was a situation Staubs refused to be drawn into. But one has to wonder what effect - if any - his decision had on how he has been treated in Putnam County.

All these things might make for an exciting novel. But are they doing anything to further the effort to find Haleigh Cummings? In my opinion, no. In fact, I believe they are doing just the opposite.

It’s time to put egos and personal agendas aside; and use those energies to find Haleigh.

Yes, that is interesting and I can see the fact they wanted to question her, but I don't give much credence to Tim H as I think he's whacko ::MonkeyConfused:: and Cobra I'm not sure about either. But after that long article stating how many times and for how long they have worked on Misty's timeline and how they have wanted to re-interview Ron and he's not cooperating leads me to believe LE has some POI's- they just aren't naming them. Seriously, who would be more of a POI than Ron/Misty as they were the last ones to see her, and they aren't cooperating , now Mama Neves gets questioned and well it's about time IMO-they need to go balls to the wall from now on as 6 months is too long ::MonkeyNoNo::

Interesting that they also have a homicide investigator on the case. I know many don't want "to go there", but to thoroughly investigate they need to look at every potential aspect of this case and sadly that is one side of it.

Yes, and logically Haleigh was in the care of Ron/Misty at the time not anyone else. But I think logic left along time ago sadly  ::MonkeyNoNo::

Six Months Since Haleigh Vanished

It's been six months since Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her Satsuma home.
By all inidications, police are no closer to finding the girl today than that morning in February.

Thousands of leads have come in to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and investigators have interviewed family, friends and neighbors.

Lt. Johnny Greenwood maintains their focus is to find Haleigh alive.

"A lot of the tips are opinion, people calling in saying 'You need to interview so and so, I've seen them on TV and something's just not right'. Those kind of tips we have to file off of people's opinions on one side and then we go with anything that might have a substantial lead to it in another pile".

Haleigh turns six years-old next Monday.

I've got a couple of questions....in the one article it does not make sense to me that the LE would want the families divided.  Why?  This makes no sense.  Working together might get something accomplished.  Standing a family unit and a stronger force.  Asking questions of each other and considering information together, instead of "he said, she said, I heard, I read.."
Why would LE want them apart?  And I'd like to know WHO told Marie Griffis that.  WHO?  Did they tell the Cummings side that as well?

The other question, (oh my gosh, there are so many! but pressing on my mind today)  If LE thinks Teresa Neves was leaking information, I can see them treating her that way.  WHICH NO ONE has the right to do.  Let's imagine we were to walk in and ask about our missing child or grand baby.  We have a right to know, yes?  And if they treated us this way, how would we feel?  I'm pretty sure KP was the one leaking all the info.  Remember how "in good" she was with Peggy Cone?  Again, this isn't making sense.  Surely they know KP was causing big waves.

So.  They want to keep the families separated.  They want to make sure there are no leaks. But after six months, honestly.  If I were in that family, don't care which side, at this point I'd have to say that you have not found my child, and I NEED TO FIGURE THIS OUT.  I'd be at the other camps side and putting it ALL ON THE TABLE.

And Crystal, I'm confused.  She said in one of the very first interviews that Ronald would not hurt HaLeigh.  (yes, she said it. if he is so violent, why would she say it? I think I'd be saying, "I DON'T KNOW!")  And then not even two, three days later, she tells Geraldo she thinks he is violent.  Omgosh you guys.  This WHOLE case is just crazy.

Have you noticed that in the other recent cases, the police have given statements and keep the public somewhat updated?  This child is believed to be...this child might have come to some harm...this child is missing with her mother and possibly headed to Arizona...this child has a life filled with SO's...this person is going to get caught because we know a suitcase was reported missing....

And what do we have with HaLeigh?  We have a big fat N.O.T.H.I.N.G.

This article speaks volumes to me, and IMO seems to be more towards implicating Ron/Misty (heck, even Ron does it by his attititude and lack of cooperation:

1) FACT! Until they can rule them out LE is in a rock/hard place and it shouldn't take 6 months to rule them out.... ::MonkeyWink::

Cummings said he and former girlfriend Misty Croslin — who he has since married and is now Misty Cummings — have been unfairly targeted.

2) BS~ Their actions speak louder than their words, family is always targeted first anyway especially the family who were with her at the time "she got stole"

“There should have been more attention to Crystal’s family,” he said. “I think they should have paid more attention to everyone rather than just me and Misty.

3) Seems like LE is focuisng on them and they have reasons to, they already stated they don't know WHAT happened or WHEN it happened

Standing outside wearing T-shirts with Haleigh’s likeness, Ronald and Misty Cummings said they gave dozens of hours of interviews in February and March, including her longest, which she said occurred just before the couple were married.

“I think the longest time I was in there was eight hours,” she said.

6) Becasue you are lying and they know it

Ronald Cummings said the investigation went in the wrong direction.

“They took a child-abduction investigation and made it a personal investigation,” he said. “Instead of keeping the focus on finding Haleigh, they made the focus on Misty and what she was doing one weekend and what happened six months ago and what happened seven years ago. It was tunnel vision.”

Cummings has cut off interviews with investigators.

“Besides ‘No I didn’t have nothing to do with my child being missing,’ what do you say?” he asked.

Maj. Gary Bowling, director of law enforcement for the department, said detectives would like to interview Cummings again but have been resisted.

8) Nuff said......... If you have nothing to hide and really want her found get your @ss back in there and make Misty tell what she knows, unless of course it implicates you Ron

The interviews with Misty Cummings have produced different pictures, he said. She was alone with Cummings’ children the night Haleigh disappeared. She has told authorities she woke up about 3 a.m. and found the 5-year-old missing.

“We’ve said from day one Misty’s story is absolutely filled with inconsistencies,” Bowling said.

Cummings was at work the night his daughter vanished and came home as the 911 call to authorities was being made.

He has not worked since that last night shift, then lost his job because he did not stay in contact, according to the company. Cummings said he has not been able to find another job and does not know if he can go back to work.

PUTNAM COUNTY, FL -- In Haleigh Cummings' home is a present and many stuffed animals. The gifts are sitting by the front door waiting for the five-year-old.

Nearby there is a candle which the family lights every night. They say the candle will burn until Haleigh comes home.

"It's waiting, everyday waiting for somebody to say we found Haleigh," says Annette Sykes, Haleigh's great-grandmother.

It's been six months since the little girl just vanished from her Satsuma home. Ronald Cummings, Haleigh's dad, moved out after the disappearance. Someone else lives in the home now.

"If anything it's gotten worse for Ron," says Sykes. She says he rarely sleeps anymore.

They say it's as if life is standing still and it was just yesterday that panic had set in.

Next week, Haleigh will turn six-years-old. The family still holds out hope that she is still alive.

But everyday there are fewer tips that come in to police. "Somebody knows what happened to Haleigh Cummings. We are just waiting for that one piece of information to break the case wideopen," says Lt. Johnny Greenwood, of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Greenwood says a FDLE agent is now combing through all leads to make sure nothing is missed. "We are gonna find her and bring her home," says Greenwood.

Six months after she disappeared, Haleigh's family has a message for the person who took her. It is the same one they pleaded before. "Just bring her home."

Police say they have no suspects in this case.

It looks as if Crystal has a new attorney for the family dockets.

It also appears that Crystal is petitioning the court for an emergency hearing for Ronald Jr. to receive some counseling.  What a shame that Crystal is being forced to petition the courts for such a thing.   I can only assume that means that Ron Cummings is not permitting this child to receive therapy and this is Crystal’s only recourse.

One would assume that young Ronald Jr. would have been receiving counseling since his big sister allegedly disappeared from the bedroom in which they were both sleeping.   One would also assume that a caring parent would support counseling for his son and would not force the other parent to file for an emergency hearing in order to have the child receive such much needed help.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Both Haleigh Cummings' mother and father say the pain of losing Haleigh hasn’t changed a bit since day one. Monday marks six months since anyone saw her, and investigators say they are no closer to finding out what happened to her.

“There’s somebody out there that knows something…we’re not giving up hope. We’re working this as aggressively as we were on day one, we’re just looking for that one piece of information,” said Lt. Johnny Greenwood of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

“Somebody knows what happened to Haleigh Cummings, and we’re just waiting on that one piece of information that’s going to break the case right open,” said Greenwood.

Remarks like that are what fuel both of Haleigh’s parents to go on everyday. Both Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield say the six month mark is devastating, but what’s worse is that Haleigh’s sixth birthday is only one week away on August 17th.

“We talked about it because it was coming up soon, and now her birthday’s coming up soon, and that’s going to be really hard for me,” said Crystal Sheffield.

Haleigh’s mother spoke exclusively with Action News on the 6 month mark of her daughter’s disappearance. Crystal says she remembers Haleigh’s 5th birthday party last year.

“I will say that, she’s a daddy’s girl, but she’s momma’s baby…she’s my first baby, so whatever she wanted she got. If she didn’t get what she wanted she’d pitch a fit. After that, she opened the rest of her presents and she was nothing but smiles and giggles,” said Sheffield.

Inside Ronald Cummings' home, Haleigh’s Great Grandmother sat in a chair wearing a shirt with Haleigh’s face on it. She says the past six months have been most difficult on Haleigh’s father and little brother.


“He just doesn’t understand why his sissy won’t come home. And he talks about her. If he goes to the store, if he gets a candy bar he has to get his sister a candy bar. If he gets a toy he has to get a toy. His nightmares aren’t as bad as they used to be, but he won’t go to sleep unless his daddy or Misty are in the house,” said Annette Sykes.

“He knows that somebody stole his sister. But it just doesn’t sink in. You know, he’s so young and he doesn’t understand what that means,” said Sykes.

Both sides of Haleigh’s family say they wish the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office contacted them more to let them know the latest in the investigation.

“They’ve done everything they can with what they have, but me being a mom I just feel like there’s more that they can do...I don’t know what else to do,” said Crystal Sheffield.

“For us to just have to sit here and wait, and wait, and wait, and nobody call to say anything, I guarantee you if it was their child or grandchild they’d be jumping up and down screaming,” said Annette Sykes.

We took the family’s concerns to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. A Deputy there says it is keeping all of the specifics of the investigation close to the cuff. The Deputy also said he was unaware that investigators had not called the family in awhile, and would be addressing that with them.

“I don’t know the status of the callbacks, I’ll have to look into it,” said Lt. Johnny Greenwood.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office did say the Haleigh Cummings investigation is far from a cold case. It says tips come in daily, but many are not factual or just don’t pan out. Deputies also tell Action News a member of the FDLE is currently going over every single tip and lead that has come in to make sure no stone is left unturned. Action News has also confirmed a new chief investigator has taken over the case, and she is the head of Putnam County’s missing persons division.

Both sides of Haleigh’s family also tell Action News they are ready to put aside their differences and work together to try and find Haleigh.

“It’s something we should have all done a long time ago. I just think both sides of the family should come together for Haleigh…I feel it’s just the right thing to do,” said Crystal Sheffield.

Sheffield is holding a drive to try and gather school supplies for classrooms where Haleigh used to attend school. It’s going to be in downtown Palatka on Saturday, August 15th from 10am-5pm at Riverfront Park.

Ronald Cummings family is doing two separate events to honor Haleigh’s birthday. On Sunday August 16th, his family will hold a candlelight vigil at the First Baptist Church of Welaka at 3pm. Then on Monday August 17th at 2:16pm, he will be releasing purple and red balloons with fliers showing Haleigh’s information. The Cummings are encouraging everyone to download her missing person’s flier from the FDLE’s website and attach it to balloons and do the same on Monday.

Haleigh Cummings - Has Satsuma Forgotten?

This article tugged at my heart strings. It proves to me that there are decent people out there. Armando is a gentleman that I have great respect for. Unlike so many others that prefer the safety of their own computer, he took some time out to actually visit Satsuma. It was by no means his first visit, he and his young family lived not far from the area when Haleigh Cummings first went missing. One would think that with the little girls 6th birthday, and the 6 month anniversary of her disappearance, a small town like Satsuma would be a buzz - Simon

I wrote this article simply to help in the finding of Haleigh Ann Marie Cummings. As everyone knows this little girl was abducted from her home in Satsuma Fl, but not many have had the opportunity to go there themselves and see the suspicious settings and rural areas in which she could have vanished into. I took it up on my self to drive there and have a look around shall we say. But with one thing in mind to see how many fliers or post about Haleigh I would find. I never intended to go there as a spectator or some hero but rather a concerned citizen worried about the whereabouts of a missing child, I was able to take a few pictures that kept me thinking.

The streets were empty. The locals spoke about football games and fishing. The police I noticed seemed to be having a normal day. The sad thing to me about all that was that I was minutes away from Haleigh’s house and not one rose bush on the side of the road, or a sign reading “WE MISS YOU HALEIGH”, no memorial or sign of a community morning a missing child. I know to some it may sound harsh but not even a poster or flier saying MISSING CHILD! As I drove closer my heart began to beat faster with the thought “what if this was my child?”

I stopped at Monroe and Green Ln and started to wonder if I should do this. The whole trip, the whole mission sort of say was simply to see how the community was taking the whole thing, how many fliers or posters or memorials or any awareness of Haleigh missing I saw. So far nothing, but I was confident that maybe in her street would be different. I made a right on Monroe and slowly drove through, scared, anxious, just wanting to see something that represents the little girl who everyone has become obsessed with (some for good some for bad) missing, and again nothing. Nothing on HER road, nothing.

I drove through this dirt road and the trailers are not as bad as some may perceive. The trailer next to where Haleigh once played around and ate her meals and lived in was empty. So I figure I would get out of my truck and look around. I stood at the trailer which pointed directly to the back door where Haleigh was taken out off. My heart sunk to the ground as my prayers were silently mumble to myself and God. I just stared in disbelieve.

I quickly called my wife who was picking up our oldest daughter from her aunts and broke down on her. Broke down knowing that this could have been my child innocently living her life, and some scum individual can lurk through the shadows preying on her. I took some pictures and left immediately. I jumped in my truck and punched the pedal down and ripped through this community that does not even have the decency to post a simple flier for Haleigh. On my way out I stopped at the St John’s River Club and several gas stations and even MeeMa’s and nothing. They know about her but no signs. Seems the whole town is under wraps.

I did this just to see what attention Haleigh was receiving in her home town, seems to me like the bloggers care more. Sorry but it’s true. I’ve read a lot of comments and some are positive wishing Haleigh well and others are frustrated asking for answers. And the truth is we are all entitled to our own opinion. Whether one agrees or the other doesn’t. We all have a genuine concern for this little girl. And that is why Balloons for Haleigh seem so right to me. Because in the mist of all of us disagreeing and bickering, on the 17th we have one common; filling the sky with purple and red balloons. The ones that wish her well, and the ones who think the family is involved, and the ones who just want her FOUND. We no longer have that uncommon but now we all agree on releasing these balloons into the air. Now that’s sharing a common.

In ending, everyone from TJ Hart to Simon, Cobra and all of those who comment and post and blog and call in with your opinions to Simon’s show are doing more for Haleigh then her own community. I did not see not one flier or post asking for Haleigh Cummings whereabouts. Not one memorial in her honor. No red and purple ribbons around trees. NOTHING. I left my daughter’s teddy bear at Haleigh’s intersection. I did not see anything else! Whether it’s because they have been instructed to or threatened or maybe they just don’t care if Haleigh went missing. I don’t know that’s up to us to decide as the ones who care that Haleigh Cummings is found.

This is not to take shots at any member of the Satsuma community; it was simply to see how many fliers or post was seen. None.

Grrr.  I spent ten minutes looking for the link that I thought you posted Heart, with Grandma Sykes.  Wasn't there a video for that interview as well?  I'm either going crazy and starting to make things up or going crazy and can't remember anything. 

I was thinking...(scary, I know) But how many times have they changed investigators in six months?  How many times have they changed investigators in the last six weeks?  No wonder no one is getting in touch with the families!  (Marie said the same thing Grandma Sykes said in one of those articles.)  So no wonder, because no one that is investigating (or starting to investigate and then they put someone else on the job) knows what's going on!!  Or is it just me and it seems like a lot cause I really AM going crazy?

I think that this is what we were talking about on here a week or so ago...it boggles my mind that there are no reminders such as posters, fliers, teddy bears etc...of Haleigh...not in her hometown and not in Baker County where the rest of her family lives...this is really disgraceful imo....
none of these people have jobs, why in heck are they not out posting info about Haleigh in every corner of their small towns??? I am more disgusted by this entire family than ever before...right down to the grand parents!! If her own family is not doing their part to keep Haleigh's name and picture out there, why would they expect total strangers to do more? So they are going to launch balloons and they are going to collect school supplies to mark Haleigh's birthday, what are they doing for her every day until then? what will they do in the days following? nothing! just like they are doing now...Ron gets into fights with family, does nothing that we know of to rally the town to look for Haleigh... Crystal still has not opened up the Haleighbug center in Baker county like she said that she would...how many months since it closed down in Satsuma? enough days to have set up a new center I would imagine......imo...I am beginning to wonder, is it just too much work for Crystal to be bothered doing it? and is it asking too much of Ron/Misty to stay out of trouble and to go out daily and ask questions about this missing little girl or to hang up posters in every little cubby hole in that town? must be since it appears that there is not a sign of a little girl missing in either parent's town....beyond unbelievable to me...ALL my personal opinion...

I agree-incredibly volatile......Ron can't control his temper very well as we've seen, but we know all to well from all the current cases, ie Robert Manwill and so many others how DCF is failing to protect the children and it's a d@mn shame what these babies are subjected to, not just physically but emotionally too. Arrested and accused of sexual battery on a young girl

SATSUMA, Fla. -- A 38-year-old Satsuma man has been arrested for sexual battery involving a young girl.

Police say a 13-year-old girl told her parents that she had been sexually assaulted by Donald Sapp about two years ago.

After an investigation, Sapp was booked into the Putnam County Jail on one count of sexual battery.

He is being held without bond.

I see your point HH, but somekind of therapy might help, and like I asked before I thought he got some early on. Now I'm just going to say it, could it be that Ron/Misty don't want therapy for the child, because he might say things they don't want him to say?

I think the victums advocate epople had someone talk to him early on, but a regular schedule with a trained therapist is what they are wanting now, but like you say, who knows how many appointments he will make it to since he lives with Ronald and Misty...I dont know ...we will just have to wait and see, maybe GM Sykes will step in and get him there since they live with her also who knows, but I do think it will do him some good to talk to someone that is on neither side...

I can't even imagine how scared he is, I'm sure his thought of being stolen must be awful. One of my neighbor's kids who is the same age as Jr, when his grandpa died, for months I kept hearing him say to the other kids, that he was going to die, and the kids kept telling him no you aren't let's just play. So I wonder if Jr is even enjoying anything with the fears hanging over him?

 I was able to speak with someone connected to the Sheffield/Griffis family and obtained more information about the action taken in the Putnam County Family Court yesterday.

Since Haleigh’s disappearance Law Enforcement and the Victim’s Advocate office have been recommending and offering free counseling for Ron Cummings Jr.   According to the custody agreement, all medical treatment Haleigh and Ronald Junior receive must be disclosed to and approved by both parents.

Crystal has wanted Junior to receive counseling for the last six months.  So have Teresa Neves and Annette Sykes.  However, Ron Cummings has refused to allow Ron Jr. to receive counseling of any kind.  When Crystal’s six week visitation schedule with Ron Jr. was established she contacted the Victim’s Advocate Office of the Florida Attorney General.   She completed all of the paperwork required to begin counseling and hoped that through this channel Ron Jr. would obtain the help she believes he desperately needs.

Unfortunately, the Victim’s Advocate Office required that Ron Cummings agree to the counseling and he once again refused to allow his son to talk with any therapist, counselor or mental health professional of any kind.  Without Ron’s agreement, the Victim’s Advocate Office had no choice but to decline to provide assistance to Ron Jr.

Crystal believes strongly that Ron Jr. needs some kind of counseling.  Because Ron Cummings would not permit this, she had no choice but to take legal action.   An emergency hearing should take place this week and at that time the documentation of Ron Cummings refusal to allow counseling will be presented to the court.   Hopefully the Judge assigned to the case will understand how desperately Ron Jr. needs to talk with someone and will order Ron to cooperate with getting counseling for his son.

Should the judge find it appropriate to refuse counseling for a little boy who’s big sister was allegedly kidnapped from the room in which he was sleeping, I hope the new attorney working with Crystal will take action that will elevate the issue to a higher court in Florida.

Actually it reminds me of when I was going thru a divorce from Satan ::MonkeyDevil2:: and my son who was 3 1/2 was having nightmares and all kind of problems including telling me he didn't want to visit his dad because he was scared of him, so I explained to Satan that he couldn't pick him up that day and that I had taken him to a child psychologist and he had another appt 2 days from then. Well he went ballistic and told me I needed a court order to take him, sadly that day I found out why he didn't want him anywhere near a professional ::MonkeyNoNo::

Sadly IM that seems to be the  main reason people do not want kids taken to therapists. I know that my ex was not happy when my 10 y/o was ordered by the court to go- mostly because my ex had to hear about how his actions affected the kids.

 It's  unfortunate that Ron C has custody of his children by Crystal, in that Ron and Misty are  drug addicts and Ron has a violent streak he cannot control.  The lack of cooperation of Ron and Misty, and the inconsistencies in Misty's story, suggests there is more than what meets the eye.  I believe it is entirely possible that Ron fatally injured Haleigh in one of his violent attacks.  He very well could have been under the influence of drugs.  His crying jags suggest drugs also.  This is a dark enclave near Satsuma, well back in the sticks, some distance from civilization.  Back there in the sticks disposal is not that difficult, especially with allegators lurking.  Misty and Ron care only about their next high, for there is not more in this life for them.  They live a dark life from high to high.  They have no or little education, so what more is there than the drug induced highs, or the next drug dealer.  Haleigh is totally irrelevant to them.  I do hope I am wrong, but I have no hope of finding Haleigh in this environment.

  I am sorry, but do you know them personally to be able to say these things as facts? That is the problem with this case IMO.. everyone is so quick to post their opinions as facts. Back to lurking I go.

How can investigators NOT make the investigation about Misty when she is the last person reported to have seen Haleigh?

How can investigators ignore Misty’s drug activities that occurred just hours before Haleigh disappeared?

As to the six months ago comment, I wonder what happened at that time that has Ron irked?  It sure hasn’t hit the news or the blogs yet.

 

Regarding seven years ago, could Ron be talking about some of his drug arrests?

Sorry Ron but when a man chooses to have a relationship with and marry someone who does drugs, it’s hard to believe the man is not participating in such activities.
 

Later in the article Marie Griffis said this;

“The next step should be for detectives to name those who are no longer suspects”, she said.

“You need to start excluding the people that you know do not have this information,” she said.

Bowling said it takes rock-solid alibis before detectives can eliminate anyone and those have not been established. He said the best that can be done is assign degrees of suspicion to people.”

I find it interesting that Major Bowling mentions that rock solid alibis have not been established.  Perhaps the article I wrote a couple of weeks ago concerning the shift hours at PDM Bridge were correct.   Clearly Ron’s “I was at work” alibi is not holding up with the authorities or he would be cleared.

 One can assume that others who have not been cleared don’t have alibis if they were at home; but we would expect that being at work would be a “rock solid” alibi.

I saved the best for last with this quote from Ron Cummings;

“There should have been more attention to Crystal’s family,” he said. “I think they should have paid more attention to everyone rather than just me and Misty.”

He said questioning should have been broader.

“They didn’t have the big picture,” he said. “Why do they not question everybody?”

I cannot believe this man has the audacity to point the finger of blame at Crystal and her family in one breath and in the next, tell the media that he is not cooperating with the investigation.

What kind of pathology would explain this behavior?   Are there any mental health professionals who would like to weigh in on this?

Oakland police are searching for Hassani Campbell, 5, of Oakland. The boy, who is disabled, was last seen Monday afternoon in the Rockridge neighborhood.

OAKLAND — More than a dozen police continue to search this morning for a missing boy with cerebral palsy who was last seen in Oakland Monday afternoon.

Five-year-old Hassani Campbell of Fremont was reported missing from the 6000 block of College Avenue at around 4:15 p.m., according to the Oakland police youth services unit.

Witnesses told police Campbell was in Oakland with a family friend, who was dropping off another child to Campbell's aunt.

Campbell was left in the car, a newer model BMW, while the man took the other child into the aunt's home. The boy, who wears braces on both legs, was gone when the man returned, witnesses said. TV footage shot last night showed the car being towed.

The shopping district in the area of College and Harwood avenues, has been closed on and off during the search, which last night included search dogs and a helicopter.

The boy is described as light-skinned African-American, standing 3 feet tall and weighing about 40 pounds. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants the last time he was seen.

. . . Seems many of us are sharing similar feelings . . . reading the article from the man who went down there and found NOTHING that shows ANYONE is concerned about looking for Haleigh - as stated by HigherHopes previously - solidified and says it all, IMO.

What parent would EVER EVER EVER just give up and walk away from "finding their missing child" if they were truly "missing"? And not even PRETEND to be trying to look? No way. Look at all of the examples - whose loved ones have been gone for MUCH longer - what true grief and fear and determination really look like: the Ocasio & Kesse families, Christine Sheddy's family, the Holloways, and on and on and on . . .

IMO, the only answer to my question above is: the parents who know EXACTLY where that child is.

Please allow me my soapbox moment and don't throw nanners at me.  Everyone is understandably getting frustrated not being able to find these missing babies.  Some of us are forgetting that all posts are in "our opinion only" unless backed by a proven fact with a link to somewhere or something solid.  Strayzes' post says, "lack of cooperation-story suggests", "I believe it is entirely possible", "very well could be", etc., etc., etc.,...  This post could've been worded a little differently but I don't take everything said to heart.  There were some obvious truths to some of the OPINION stated but let's not come out swinging so hard. 

I do agree with this, although Ron has a far more extensive record for hardcore drugs, and he does appear to have an extremely short fuse (thus requiring LE to camp out at PDM a few days during shift change and the cops worrying about their safety due to Ron being known to carry a gun) during his last arrest. Violent tendencies + drugs + leaving precious children in the care of Misty coming off 3 day bender of sex/drugs = disaster!!!!!!!!!!!! ::MonkeyTongue::

Dead Rat Involved in Feud Between Croslin and Cummings

PUTNAM COUNTY, FL -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating another incident that may involve Ronald Cummings.

Cummings has been the subject of attention this year as the father of a missing girl for whom there has been an Amber Alert for over six months.

The PCSO says Hank Croslin, Jr., filed a report last Saturday about a dead rat in his mailbox.

He told deputies a neighbor saw Ronald Cummings putting something in his mailbox around midnight.

Cummings was arrested last week following an altercation with Croslin, who is the brother of Cummings' wife, Misty.

The sheriff's office says the incident is not tied to the search for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings. Her birthday is Sunday. She disappeared after going to bed on the night of February 9.

Ronald Cummings, the father of missing Putnam County 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings, has been questioned about a headless rat found in an in-law's mailbox.

Cummings' brother-in-law Hank Croslin Jr. told investigators he found the dead rat in his Satsuma mailbox Saturday and feared for his life. A fight between Croslin and Cummings two days earlier resulted in Cummings' arrest.

A neighbor of Croslin's reported seeing Ronald Cummings' truck stop at the Croslin's mailbox around midnight the night before.

The neighbor said the truck moved down the street, turned around and drove past with Cummings driving and someone else in the cab, according to a Putnam County Sheriff's Office report.

Cummings and a second person were interviewed later Saturday and denied knowing about the rat.

Cummings and Croslin fought early Thursday when Croslin and his parents came to the mobile home were Cummings and his wife Misty Cummings stay with Cummings' grandmother.

Ronald Cummings was arrested and charged with felony burglary with battery.

In the report, Croslin said he feared retaliation.

Cummings' daughter was reported missing Feb. 10 from the mobile home where he was living with his girlfriend and his two children. The case gained national attention and has not been solved.

Ronald Cummings was not charged but was questioned by Putnam County sheriff's deputies about the Aug. 8 rat incident, which was reported two days after Cummings was arrested in connection with another alleged incident involving his wife's family.

Deputies arrested Ronald Cummings Aug. 6 on a charge of burglary with assault or battery after he was accused of hitting his brother-in-law.

Deputies said Cummings and Hank Croslin Jr., the brother of Cummings' wife, Misty, got into a fight on Aug. 6 after Misty contacted her family and said she didn't want to stay at a home with her husband any longer.

When her brother and parents arrived, Hank Croslin said Ronald Cummings was "acting crazy" and swung at him. Croslin said that, as he tried to drive away, Cummings got into the vehicle and started hitting him again. Cummings, meanwhile, signed affidavits saying his brother-in-law and father-in-law were the aggressors, the Sheriff's Office reported. Deputies forwarded those affidavits to prosecutors for review, and Ronald Cummings was booked and later released on bond from the jail. The matter remains under investigation by the State Attorney's Office.

On Saturday, deputies were dispatched to Hank Croslin's home to investigate a claim that Ronald Cummings may have put a headless rat in Croslin's mailbox. Cummings told deputies he was not responsible for the incident.

Croslin told a deputy that he found the mutilated rodent in his mailbox and suspected Cummings put it there because, during the dispute a week earlier, Cummings allegedly told Croslin he would get back at him.

Croslin also told deputies that he knew Cummings owned several guns and he was afraid the headless rat was a sign Cummings was going to kill him. Croslin told deputies he wanted charges filed against Cummings.

A witness who lives nearby gave deputies a written statement about what she saw the previous night. The woman said she had been watching television and heard a truck coming up the road in front of her house. In her statement, the woman wrote that she saw Cummings driving his truck and saw him slow down in front of Croslin's house. Then, she said, he appeared to put something into the mailbox.

Cummings denied the allegation, deputies said, and also voluntarily agreed to be questioned about the incident and to provide a written statement.

Ronald Cummings is the father of Haleigh Cummings, who disappeared from the home she shared with him, her younger brother and her father's then-girlfriend Misty Croslin in February. Cummings and Croslin have since married.

Investigators continue to search for the 5-year-old girl, who has not been seen or heard from since. Haleigh, who has blond hair and brown eyes, weighed 39 pounds and was 3 feet tall when she was last seen.

A former postal guy here.   A mailbox is a piece of Federal property.  The owner does buy it, but still remains federal property.  Contents inside for sure.  Structure could go that way as well.

Art Harris Privately Admits Knowledge of Faked Photographs

Ft. Lauderdale Private Investigator William 'Cobra' Staubs said Photo-journalist Art Harris, who sometimes appears on CNN, was paid thousands of dollars to follow Staubs around during his search activities regarding the HaLeigh Cummings disappearance. The fact that money had exchanged hands was supposed to be kept secret from the public.

The momentary payment effectively made Harris a public relations firm as Staubs acted as private investigator for Crystal Sheffield and her attorney, Kim Picazio.

The catalog of stories written by Harris and published at artharris.com will provide one with an idea of what Sheffield, Staubs, and Picazio received for money.

Staubs also said Harris admitted to him that a HaLeigh Cummings photo, which Harris had publicly stated was original and personally vouched for, was in fact re-touched.

Staubs recounted by paraphrase what Harris told him in mid-July about the controversial photographs. “Art in as much admitted to me that something was going on with the pictures – he said ‘what if we cleaned up a little acne or something like that?”

Staubs said Harris used the word "we."

The alleged admission by Harris is significant because he  had been publicly defending the integrity of the photos on his website The Bald Truth - artharris.com.

Staubs said Harris sounded proud of what he had done.  “It’s kind of like he gave me an itty bitty smirk out there, you know, maybe we did this (to the photo),” Staubs recounted, explaining how Harris was justifying the deception.

The conversation between Staubs and Harris about the photo was sparked by repeated emails and telephone calls Staubs said he was receiving from Harris. Staubs said Harris kept contacting him and asking him to apply some kind of pressure on Timothy Holmseth (publisher of Write Into Action) to remove his stories that were exposing the fake photos, which had been created to solicit money from the public on a website called haleighbug.com.

On June 24, 2009, Harris instructed his moderator to post the photo with a personal note from him that assured everyone the photo was authentic.

I think that maybe Ron has been doing this kind stuff for a long time and able to get away with it for whatever reasons.  It's just that there is a spotlight on him now and hopefully there will be consequences.  Retaliation seems to be something he's familiar with, didn't he say on the 911 call the night Haleigh went missing that he knew (or words to that effect) who did this and he would kill them if he got to them first.  Ron just might've done something really bad to someone and isn't just possible that in retaliation they just marched right in and took her right in front of Misty?  I still say lock her up for something minor, hold her for a while and tell her Ron is turning on her, going out with other women and she's probably ditzy and insecure enough to believe it and start spilling what she knows!!!!! ::MonkeyDevil2::

The saga of the search for Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings, the 5-year-old Putnam County girl who has been missing since February, took another twist Wednesday, when police announced that her father was accused of leaving a decapitated rat in his in-laws' mailbox, days after a fistfight with the same in-laws landed him in jail.

Ronald Cummings' brother-in-law, Hank Croslin Jr., told police Saturday that he found a rat in his mailbox and suspected Cummings of putting it there "as a sign ... he was going to kill him," according to a police report.

Croslin, 23, signed a charge of retaliating on a witness against Cummings and an unnamed juvenile. In March, Cummings, 25, married Misty Croslin, 17, but it was not clear whether she was the listed juvenile.


Cummings, who denied the allegations and agreed to speak with a detective about the incident, has not been formally charged. The State Attorney's Office is reviewing the case, Assistant State Attorney Chris Kelley said.

Lt. Johnny Greenwood, a spokesman for the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, said the department released the report Wednesday after fielding several inquiries about it from reporters, but many of the documents related to the case could not be released.

"We're really not giving out any information on this thing," he said.

Cummings was arrested Aug. 5 after getting into a fight with Croslin and Hank Croslin Sr. on the front yard of his grandmother's house in Welaka.

Cummings allegedly entered his in-laws' van to punch the younger Croslin, and he was charged with burglary with assault or battery, a first-degree felony punishable by life in prison.

He was released from jail on bond the next afternoon, and Kelly said the State Attorney's Office is reviewing the burglary charge to determine if it has a case, standard protocol with felonies.

Cummings' mother-in-law, Lisa Croslin, told police she, too, thought he put the rat in her mailbox and said "she had several small children living with her at (her) residence and was afraid that Ronald would come there causing further problems with her son."

A neighbor, Patricia Kay Pierce, told police she was watching TV about midnight Saturday when she saw Cummings drive by her home with the juvenile in the passenger seat.

The juvenile's name was redacted from the police report.

Pierce said she saw one of the two get out of his truck and put something in a neighbor's mailbox.

Monday marked the six-month point since Haleigh was reported missing from her father's Satsuma home on Feb. 10.

Greenwood said investigators don't believe the recent tension between Cummings and his wife's family has anything to do with the girl's disappearance, but it is taking attention away from the search for her.

"We're focusing on trying to find Haleigh," he said, "and we don't want to be distracted by these little issues."

Most people who become unglued because their family member is missing or murdered try to do something constructive, like looking for their loved one, start or join an organization, do something good for the horrible misjustice that was done to their family. Most people are intelligent enough not to put headless rats in a mailbox.

Deputies report headless rodent left in Cummings relative's mailbox

SATSUMA - Ronald Cummings' brother-in-law says someone put a headless rat in his mailbox.

A report from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office comes a few days after Cummings, the father of missing Satsuma girl Haleigh Cummings, was arrested and jailed for 12 hours on an assault charge after a fight with his brother-in- law, Hank Croslin Jr.

Cummings had an altercation with Croslin Jr. and other family members after they arrived at Cummings' Welaka home on Aug. 5.

Each claims the other was responsible for the altercation.

Because of the confrontation, Cummings is facing charges of burglary with battery. State Attorney Joe Boatwright said the case against Cummings is still under investigation.

A PCSO report filed on Saturday said deputies who arrived at the Satsuma residence of Croslin Jr. were told that Ronald Cummings was suspected of placing a headless rat in the mailbox because of the earlier incident involving the assault.

"Hank advised that during the investigation of the altercation, Ronald made several comments that he would get back at him," the report said.

A neighbor who witnessed the incident reported to deputies that Cummings' truck was seen near the mailbox about midnight and something was placed inside the box, the report said.

A deputy photographed the dead rat inside the mailbox before disposing of it, the report also said.

Later when deputies questioned Cummings about the incident, he denied he had anything to do with the rat, the report said.

Haleigh Cummings was reported missing at 3:27 a.m. Feb 10 by her babysitter, Misty Croslin, now Cummings' wife.

The discovery prompted a massive search, but no trace of the blond kindergartner has been found.

Haleigh's sixth birthday is Monday.

A neighbor who witnessed the incident reported to deputies that Cummings' truck was seen near the mailbox about midnight and something was placed inside the box, the report said.
If it is the same truck with Only God Can Judge Me, or whatever the exact statement is, written on the back window, that was really stupid......

A neighbor, Patricia Kay Pierce, told police she was watching TV about midnight Saturday when she saw Cummings drive by her home with the juvenile in the passenger seat.

The juvenile's name was redacted from the police report.

Pierce said she saw one of the two get out of his truck and put something in a neighbor's mailbox

Well we would have proof had LE told the reporter OR if the reporter had done a better job of investigative reporting and talked to the witnesses that were with Ron that night.  So no I don't have proof other then I, as well as others, have known, for several weeks that the truck is broken down

I guess you can call the SA office and ask who gave their statements regarding the report. I am not sure if they are available yet but they will be under the sunshine law. But I can tell you that yes there were witnesses to Ron's whereabouts that night and to the fact that his truck does not run.

I am sure Spunky will dig and find out the truth.

So, this is all a lie, and of course Ron would never do such a thing?

Don't know at this point.  We will just have to wait and see.  I know that there have been posters posting that his truck was inoperable since this rat story began and others stating that his truck had been up on blocks at one time.

We will just have to wait for official reports from LE.

HaLeigh Still Missing as Birthday Nears

Monday, August 17, 2009 is Haleigh Cummings 6th birthday. The Satsuma girl was abducted from her father Ronald Cummings' home in Hermit's Cove while in the care of her now-stepmother Misty Cummings.

Ronald, Misty and Haleigh's brother, Ron Jr., now live with Ronald's grandmother, Annette Sykes. In Sykes' home is a wrapped gift and several stuffed animals waiting for for Haleigh when she returns.

Family members remain hopeful, but anxious s her birthday nears. Annette Sykes told FirstCoast News this week,"It's waiting, you know, everyday waiting. It's waiting for somebody to say 'we've got HaLeigh.' It's like walking on egg shells all the time."

Ronald Cummings rarely sleeps and has been losing weight, according to friends of the family.

Ronald has been the focus of a couple of recent disputes with members of his wife's family. He was recently charges with burglary and assault or battery as the result of a fight in his grandmother's front yard with his brother-in-law and father-in-law. His latest bout of trouble came when Cummings' brother-in-law Hank Croslin Jr. accused him of placing a headless of a rat in his mailbox.

Lt. Johnny Greenwood with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office says law enforcement officials are wanting your information on this case. He says they are missing just one piece of this puzzle. All they want to do is bring HaLeigh Cummings home.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office also confirmed earlier reports that an FDLE agent is now combing through all leads to make sure nothing is missed.

The Sky has also learned that Misty Croslin-Cummings was asked again to come in for re-questioning in the child's disappearance. Misty now has an attorney and both have declined the request for futher quesioning.

Sorry but that is BS!  Misty was the last one (according to her) to see Haleigh alive.  Why isn't she cooperating?  This is exactly why people like me think she and Ron are guilty of harming Haleigh.  If you have nothing to hide you hide nothing.  You cooperate.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says they are investigating another incident that may involve Ronald Cummings.

Cummings has been the subject of attention this year as the father of a missing girl for whom there has been an Amber Alert for over six months.

On Saturday, PCSO deputies were dispatched to Hank Croslin’s home to investigate a claim that Ronald Cummings may have put a headless rat in Croslin’s mailbox. Cummings told deputies he was not responsible for the incident.
