Man accused of hitting 2-year-old during fight By Chelsea Duttweiller | Friday, June 26, 2009, 05:29 PM Police arrested an Austin man who they say struck a 2-year-old during a neighborhood fight Wednesday, according to an arrest affidavit. Witnesses say Kendrick Harris, 21, was fighting with his girlfriend Yanali Alba, 18, and Ebony Smith, a woman who is two months pregnant with his child, the affidavit said, in the parking lot of an apartment building at 1500 Faro Drive in East Austin. Tina Zamora, 23, became involved with the argument and left her 2-year-old son standing on the other side of the parking lot, according to the affidavit. The affidavit said that the boy crossed the parking lot and pushed Harris on the leg, and Harris then struck the boy on the side of the face. Witnesses say police were called after Harris threw a rock through the back window of a vehicle, according to the affidavit. Alba, Zamora and Harris were all arrested on disorderly conduct charges, records show. Harris was additionally charged with injury to a child, the affidavit said. Harris is in the Travis County Jail on $10,000 bail, according to court records. |
