CBB, thanks for your kind post in the last thread.

The Pet Lodge called and said that Josef is very lethargic, droopy eyed, laying down. We had storms yesterday, so I gave him his Ace pill and it didn't affect him during the storms. The vet is going to check on him after he gets out of surgery. It is not like my Josef to be this way and the girls at the Pet Lodge called me to tell me how he was acting. Please pray it is just the after affects of that medicine.  ::MonkeyWaa::

Acepromazine is a tranquilizer approved for use in dogs only. However, it is used by veterinarians in cats. It is typically used prior to anesthesia and surgery because of its sedative effects and because it can prevent vomiting. It is also used as an aid in controlling excited animals during examination, treatment and grooming. Each tablet is quarter scored and the usual dose is 0.25-1.0mg/pound given by mouth.(sold per tablet)

Thankyou, Looks like it is related to the medications we use as anti-nausea and sometimes agitation (like compazine and phenergan).  Yeah that could make the dog lethargic.

Thank you Can. He has been going there for 8 years, they know his temperment and when he isn't well they call me. There are vets there 24 hours a day.

Atlanta Mom and CBB-Thanks for your help. The vet just checked him out, his heart is fine, he just has a hangover. This is only the second time he has taken Ace and I only gave him 1/2 the first time even though it said give a whole one.

JSM hi I'm NM. I haven't been too "talkative" lately but I'm at least trying to read often.

I've read your posts about Josef over the months and think of him when praying for the Monkeys and our loved ones. Definitly say prayers for him when I read to, and say prayers for him and other Monkeys' dogs when there is bad weather and fireworks.

I hope and pray he is fine.

Looks like we just had an Amber alert on tv, in the Oregon, Washington state area.  They gave no information.  I am so confused.  I looked up active Amber alerts and saw nothing.  Can any smart monkey figure out if this was a test or not?  They didn't say it was a test and they listed that it was for Clark County, Oregon and Washington, then gave a date I can't remember.  Any help?

I just think that her life is so pathetic that she needed to be the center of attention.  I think she fed on the attention that she recieved here.  Her imaginary life just had to keep getting bigger and better to make up for the emptiness of the real thing.

Forgot to add that I really don't know that is JMO.  Lovinlife

Dolce came back with a couple different reasons for her lies. 

1.  That she really was pregnant and because she was on fertility treatment the doctor said she'd likely have twins and that's why she initially told us she was pregnant with twins.  Keep in mind she posted ultrasounds of twins.

2.  That she found out it wasn't twins but only one boy but she couldn't bring herself to tell us she was only having one so she continued the twins farce.

3.  That she had a miscarriage in November but couldn't admit it to herself or the people in the forum so she continued her farce.


NOTE:  Dolce lied to everyone from the beginning about herself, her age, her life, etc...not just the twins.   I find it highly unusual for any 24-27 year old girl to be on fertility treatments.  Not saying it's impossible, just less likely at that young age.

IMO she was never pregnant.  She simply needed attention.

Thanks Klaas.    The thing that made me wonder is that someone her age normally has lots of friends to hang out with and do stuff - not normally on the internet all day (unless they are on facebook or myspace).  Or they are busy working jobs, going to school, or watching MTV.    ::MonkeyTongue::

But I have to admit that when I was 24, I was on Clomid (a fertility drug).   I was so skinny that my period had stopped.  The clomid was to jump start my period.   I was married to a jerk who expected me to weigh nothing and produce babies immediately.   Needless to say, he is history.    ::MonkeyDevil::

I have only boarded my dogs 3 times.  Actually, Jake and Martina have only been boarded once.

PASCO -- PRESS RELEASE FROM PASCO POLICE:


On June 26, 2008, Tiairra Jo Garcia was reported missing by family members. The missing person’s case rapidly evolved into a homicide investigation. Ms. Garcia has remained missing for over a year since her disappearance.


On July, 18, 2009 investigators from the Pasco Police Department, King County Sheriffs Office, and King County Search and Rescue, conducted another search for the remains of Ms. Garcia in the Rainier National Forrest outside of Enumclaw Washington. During this search it is believed that Tiairra remains were located east of Enumclaw Washington off of Highway 410.


The recovered remains are believed to be those of Tiairra Garcia; however positive identification will take some time to complete
 

I'll look, not sure.  If they determined right away she was murdered we may not have one.  I'll let you know.

Well, I can relate to that MyTime.  When it was time for rabies shots, the vet would come to my house and everybody got their shot at the same time.  Easier that way for all involved I think.  I could give everything else myself.  Illegal in this state for anyone other than a vet to give rabies vacs, however.

My little dogs would have!  I am so disappointed they were all booked up!  They even keep them on a camera/monitor!  I like the lady that runs the one we are using.  My 2 oldest stayed there in 2002 and we had no problems.....knock wood!!

We have a vet that does house calls too (mind doesn't unless it is an emergency) but I dont care for him at all.  So I will load them up and take them.  It is not too far from my house. 

This is a fairly new vet for me, my long time vet just retired.  He is still praticing on Monday's but is real tuff to get in with.  Plus he quite a distance.   ::MonkeyConfused::

They have big runs - that even go outside!  It is very clean and nice people.  We are doing 2 dogs in one and 3 in the other.  They do have a special care unit if any are having problems.  I am sure it will be ok.  I just try to convince my self they are going to camp.   ::MonkeyRoll::

One of my dogs gets car sick, can't go for even a block before he's thowing up all over the place.  So...we have a mobile vet we use.  He's a nice guy and not much more expensive than taking them in.

Woman Takes Ambien, Awakens Robbed And Raped

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A woman took an Ambien pill last week to help her sleep, but when she woke up she found she had been robbed and raped and she can't remember a thing. She also can't help police find her attacker.

The woman was in her apartment on Irma Avenue near downtown Orlando (see map) when she took the pill, but she doesn't know how the person who raped and robbed her got in.

Loss of memory is one of the side effects of the drug Ambien. The woman told police she took an Ambien pill a little after midnight and then remembers little. She seems to recall walking about two blocks to a 7-Eleven. The next thing she remembers is waking up in her own bed having been robbed and sexually assaulted.

I have insomnia bad at times!  I have never taken Ambien and never will.  It really did a number on my MOM so I hate the drug!!   ::MonkeyNoNo::

We have a pet sitter that comes twice a day for our cats when we go out of town. He brings in the mail & paper, and turns the lights off and on. He leaves a note every time he comes, and tells what the cats have done and what they have eaten. He even gives our Smokie cat her dollop of whipped cream every night.   ::MonkeyRoll::

Don't be depressed over the weight gain.  Conquer the smoking part and then concentrate on the weight gain.  One thing at a time.  Isn't it a good feeling to breath a little easier.

Very nice doggie!

Semi-moist treats like Pupperoni or semi moist food will cause them to chew their feet.  Pupcorn or hard biscuits won't cause chewing of feet.

Of course, it could be anything from grass allergies on but that is the most common reason I ever had for goggies chewing their feet.

Yea, I know.  but Boo has lived with my brother for 5 years and he has his own little room on the screened in front porch, and he thinks he is a dog, he tries to chase everybody off.......My brother saved him from gettting put down after he broke his wing at a local store, he took him home and set his wing and Boo has been there every since,    but your right , he can be messy.......but my brothers never been Married and so Boo can get away with it!  lol

Maybe an allergy but they can get "athletes paw" sort of condition if their feet are wet a lot.

I still miss Robots.  I have emailed him when somebody said they missed him and tried to lure him back but he wouldn't come back.  We email once in a while, mostly when there is news in the Natalee thread, I send him a link.

My vet's tech told me to spray her paws after we went oustside - with half water and half peroxide.  I couldn't do it.   ::MonkeyNoNo::

I think he would.  Along with a bunch of other former posters.  They usually do show up if they hear something on the news.

I used to spray some "bitter" spray on them -- it did not help much. They are actually "healed"  now but they are still visable. The fur is growing back.

She hates to get wet.  She was my MOM's and is very weird!  LOL  We joke she must have ate some of my Mom's meds.  We just love her though!!

You could also try drying off the feet when they come inside with something like a Shamwow or microfiber cloth, something real absorbent, if the feet are wet from the dew or rain.

Instead of transferring the files you can simply hook your external drive up to the laptop when you want and access the files that way. 

Sort of depends upon the size hard drive and memory you laptop has.  Likely your laptop has plenty for any files you may have on your external and it shouldn't be a problem transferring them.

Thanks, I think I would not be as skeered to try that.  I don't want to change the settings as my tech support guy won't tell me how to make wireless connection myself.  He has to come here in person and do it for some odd reason.  Guess he doesn't trust me iwth security code or something.  I think since it is wireless, I could connect all the apartments without their paying or some mysterious reason he won't tell me how to do it myself.  He has to physically be here and type some secret into my computer!

The puppy pads have always worked well for me.  They are supposed to have a scent only dogs can smell to attract the pup to them.

Yesterday I fished something out of the pool filter that was really GROSS! I thought it was a mouse. I told John the bones had dissolved and only the skin was left! He was over today and asked where I threw it. He came back HOLDING it, to my horror! He was laughing though.

Anna and Jackie will NOT agree with me but I would crate train him. My dogs love their crates.  When I kennel them this weekend, I will bring their crates (they are small) so they have their own beds and security.

A small dog, especially a puppy, has to go out a lot!  And I mean al ot.  Twice an hour at least. I use a command word then praise!  I only have one that can be  a little sneak if I let her.  It is all attitude with her.  The rest are very good.

PT made a pen.  I put the 2 small ones in there and tell them to go Potty and they do!  Then I praise them!  The others just go outside and will go to the door.  But little dogs are very difficult to house break, so be consistent and patient.  It will probably happen.  LOL

After all the stuff between Dan and me, he posted on my facebook wanting to be friends back when I had a facebook page.  He and I have emailed a little.  I emailed and asked him a source and he answered very politely which kind of surprised me.

Yes, MrsJimi was a character but she and I got along pretty well.  Also SeedyRum whom Dan thought was his arch enemy but I think it was Island Hopper who kept giving him problems.  IH and I were friends off forum but I never told Dan that as he would get sooooo mad.

Julia and Scubajap both had Dan under their spell and also that Delores from Aruba, too.

Well, it's beautiful and your work is awesome!

He should be sleeping in it, but i couldn't do it!  If he is going outside, don't use the puppy pads.  It confuses them, so I was told.  Another thing I was told, Don't let him play until he goes!  Play can be a good reward.  He should not have run of the house yet until he gets trained.  Sopposedly this confuses them too. 

After you take him out, if he does not go, crate him and try again like 15 minutes later.  Make sure you help him get used to the crate if you have not been using it.  Don't let him out right away if he cries.... ::MonkeyWink::  Good luck!! 

The quilt and pillow are both very nice and thoughtful gifts, GE.  I know the ones who get them will be thrilled that you did this for them

Put pennies in a can and when they start to squat, or have an accident in the house, shake the can. You can even throw the can NEAR not AT them if you can't get to them in time and the noise startles them. That's the negative reinforcement. You couple that with LOT'S of loving when they go outside, and put them on a generous schedule for success by taking them out often. Eventually I put her on a feeding and water schedule to help that along, too.

Yikes!  Some bats carry rabies but people put out bat houses to attract them so don't know if this is good or bad.  Guess a dead one is bad but for whatever reasons, some people want bats.  I think to eat mosquitos or something like that.

We had a doxie once that we got from friends of friends. We tried everything with him to break him from going in the house. Nothing worked, ended up he just had to be an outside dog. Every time he came in he would mess on the living floor. ::MonkeyNoNo::

There's lots of bats around. I had one in the HOUSE once! FREAKED me totally out! The darn thing was hanging upside down from my 4 year old's window curtains! I had him standing on the bed putting his jammies on and saw it! I scooped him up and my feet didn't touch the ground as I crossed the hall to my bedroom and shut the door!

I called a neighbor who came with a tennis racket and pool net!  ::MonkeyHaHa:: It flew down the hall and hung upside down from the dining room opening!   ::MonkeyShocked::
