Me post that I was attempting to send - regarding the New Icons  ::MonkeyDevil2::

I want a Monkey Icon that has a Microphone ... If we can have a Monkey with a Tricycle - We can have a Monkey with a Mic ... why is it though the tricycle monkey is not always within my icons. Its there and then its not.  I see within the icons

Um, talking about my Dad and all - I have to say this. It is sorta on topic. 

Um we all know the stir and are you kidding me with Dolce and who ever else named " thought" to be connected to Dolce.

I thought at one time that I was " comfortable" not really a friend of this Monkey - who was once very well known. What " his " status is today - I have no clue. He has been named to being connected to Dolce. I did though take his Cage serious that was given to Him. Elvis Room.  I promised this so called Monkey " huge Elvis fan" that one day I would post my Father's picture ( due to Elvis was my Dad's Idol growing up) 

I did post my Dad's photo on Father's Day - My Dad's funeral was the day before. I never ever found a response from that day - from this Elvis fan.
I only saw one response - nothing to do with my post - yet it was from Always ...

I have a history with Tricycles... I did have one that I thought I was all that and more. I had a Red tricycle that had huge wooden blocks upon the pedals ..and for the first time I was allowed to ride down the sidewalk from our house - I loved my tricycle.
Tricycles in my Mind are a good thing - As the DJ I offer again a song. But this song goes with the Fun of being a kid - and riding a tricycle - Its a song that is history of living in Detroit.

Bikes are part of being a kid - Bikes are freedom when your little.
I was given my first real bike when I was in kindergarten. 
My Purple Bike - which I was scared to death of - because it was so BIG and even had glitter in the paint .. had a white banana seat and lots of chrome and - it had a white woven basket with flowers on the front. I looked at it as if it were  ::MonkeyEek::  I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I was Amazed by it.  I thought This Can't be Mine. No way. Its too Much.

My Dad would come home from work and he would take me outside on the side walk - and He would hold me under my armpits and say " peddle Peddle you can do it Peddle Peddle  " and he would Run next to me ..and then let me go so I could fly .......   ::MonkeyAngel::
I miss my Dad.

Deenie? There's a memorial thread at SM, in the lounge. I believe that Peaches, (a beloved monkey who passed away after a valient fight with cancer) is the only one featured there so far, but we're all invited to place our loved ones photo on that board. I think that Klaas asked we start a seperate thread for each.......... I haven't done it, but I think I will. When Klaas made it, I remember feeling so grateful to her. One of the things that still lingers with me is the loss of sharing those I love with others I care about. By giving us that opportunity, she's helped me bridge that, and it feels good to be able to continue to introduce them to people who would be inclined to care through me. It's just a suggestion, but I think I'll do it and wanted to be sure you knew about it too. I'd feel really blessed for you to share your Dad with me.   ::MonkeyWink::

I know you aren't logged in but I just wanted to tell you I read your stories,but I may not respond.I really should.Every story you tell leaves me back in time if only for a moment to happier times as a kid.
When you talk I can feel she sun shining on my face,as I'm running around ,or riding my bike.

  I didn't hear anything about meteors.  My friend was here with daughters overnight, we had fun.  It was kind of sad though cause I don't know when or if I'll see them again.   How the years pass.

Last night when going to White Castle with my friend there was the most amazing lightening in the sky.  It was like a light show.  We ate burgers and watched it.  Later the belly bombers were getting the best of us though.   ::MonkeyWink::

Have I told you guys how much I dislike satellite.   ::MonkeyMad::    Up graded so daughter could work from home and keep her job in Calif. Got everything done she went on line to work and because it's satellite and she has to use something called VPN it slowed down to almost nothing. Her company said they couldn't do anything more on their end. And the slowness wasn't going to work. Thank God for friends. Babs said she could set up her computer at their house with DSL. Took everything over tonight to see if it would work. It did like a charm. So she will be driving over there to work until we get DSL in our area or she gets on her feet and moves closer to town where it's available.  ::MonkeySlide::

Amazing how these minor hitches always arise in the plans.  Glad Babs was so helpful.  Hope it all works out for her GE.  ::MonkeyKiss::

Good Morning Sunny!  I just got a 23" monitor....best thing every invented and worth every penny!  You will love having one!

Crystol is more spunky.  No vomiting and drinking small amounts.  The overnight package of meds is tracking on time!!!!!  I am feeling so much more hopeful than I did the last 48 hours.  I even slept for a few hours with my hand on her so if she budged I would know.

Update - MED JUST CAME AT 9:45 am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  She just took the first capsule with peanut butter.  Had her liquid antibotic and a few bites of food with peanut butter.  The med has to be given with high fat food. 
Back in a bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard it of it!!  Rats and mice can get in too.  I have no idea how but I did just learn that a raccoon can fit in a 3" diameter.

After the ladies jumped out of the car, the snake climbed into the back seat and then up on to the rear window ledge.

One of a group of men (most were scared) identified it as a non-poisonous rat snake and picked it up and let it go into the woods.

The car is a Toyota Avalon, and I am thinking of calling or writing Toyota to see if they can identify a space big enough for a snake to enter.

Dang chipmunks chewed all my electrical wires, turn signal, cruise control the works.   ::MonkeyNoNo::

I'm terrified of them!!! I usually check the back seat when I first get in the car at night, and immediately am at ease when I don't see a knife weilding murderer back there! I'd have to think hard to decide which I'd be more afraid of....... a knife weilding murderer or a snake!!!!

IMO that is not too much to ask.

I wish I knew more. I still think it is the das area. I know there are openings behind the glove compartments, and you can usually pull out panels around the sides down near the foot area in the front seats.

I don't know if you ever heard the radio show Car Talk on NPR, the 2 guys are a scream but they really know cars, car problems normal and unusual.
I know it may not be the quickest way to get an anwser but they are a good source.

Wow Mere - Our Ky snakes must be brilliant! LOL  I didn't know you were a KY girl too.  I am guessing by 90 miles from Toyota you are near Lexington or Louisville.  Howdy from about 90 miles away if it is the  Toyota near me!

Crystol update for those following her saga.........  She is less perky than she was first this this am, but stable. She is on two antibiotics and this potent drug, so I guess her being less perky is to be expected. She is mad that the neighbor behind us is cutting down and shredding the logs today - disturbing her nap.  I will just keep turning tv up to down it out so she doesn't feel the need to grrrrrrrr and protect!  Her Dr. called a bit ago and was impressed I got her meds here by 9:45am.  Course, the medicine was 25 and I paid 30 in shipping - but worth every penny and then some.  Funny how I won't buy off amazon unless I get the best price and free super saver shipping but when it comes to our babies we will and feel like we got the best deal of the day! 
If you see a boy in brown (UPS) today - hug him for me! LOL

A suggestion to try:  Steelwool, flexable enough to pack in there.  Someone suggested it to me when I kept getting mice in the house thru little spaces & cracks.  It works great with mice (can't chew thru it).

Wow Sunny, I've lived in Texas all my life, most of it in the deep woods.     I can't imagine selling a dream home and leaving the state because of them.  Did you have a run-in with some snakes or what happened?  We didn't leave the state then..in fact it was 15 years later. We moved to a more densely populated area. I did and it scared the crap outta me and wouldn't set foot in the back yard, go out to the pool or let my dogs out back. My husband couldn't stand the thought of me being so frightened and sold the house. It no longer held the dream!

Although my oldest son did go in his bedroom one night when he was about 13 and there was a snake coiled up on his pillow.   ::MonkeyWink::

So how come you had to sell it due to snakes?  Did they get inside and couldn't be exterminated or was it too dangerous to go outside?

SUNNY!! Ohhhhhhh, that's sad! We killed 13 the first summer we had this house, and I begged to move! I talked with the naturalist at a local park, and after he fussed at me for killing snakes, he told me that snakes don't travel far throughout their life from where they are hatched. So I made a point to kill every single one I saw. Well, I didn't kill any of them.............. I was like the roadrunner, leaving only a cloud behind me whenever I saw one! My ex husband killed them. Anyway, the next year we saw only about 4, and we got them, too. I've lived here 20 years now, and I go through years and never see any at all. I really think it helped. I have a dog, too, that doesn't tolerate any critters in the yard. She found one about 5 years ago. That's the last incident.

Hoping things go well for little Crystol today, ANJ.

About a month ago, son and I found an Eastern Box Turtle on a street behind his house in east Texas.  It's about the size of the palm of my hand.  I believe he was an escaped pet and we put signs and such up and no one claimed him.   He had a very deep scrape on top of his shell.  He lives at my house now, and his name is "Silent Bob".  Normally if I found a turtle/tortoise out somewhere, I would just move it on across the road out of harms way.  But this one was found on a street with houses, two streets over from a very busy commercial street.  And the street he was on had really high curbs.  He was sitting on someone's front lawn.    I think he was an escapee.  "Silent Bob" is really friendly and follows us around like a puppy. 

My little blue parakeet "Cindy Lou Who" died on Sunday.  She was companion to our cockatiel "Bird".  It's sad when we lose our pets. 

I don't have any pet snakes.  Not too fond of snakes.  Most other creatures, but will take a pass on snakes...

there was a huge pasture behind us and the guy that owned the land had a very large compost pile near our fence.....I was so afraid of the snakes, it got to where I wouldn't go out in the back yard or let the dogs in the back. I no longer felt safe even walking to our pool.  The day I poured charcoal starter on one of the ground level decks and lit it , was the day my husband knew we couldn't stay there any long.  BTW...there were 5 snakes under that deck!

Oh, I guess just the corporate offices are up here near me.  So, I am 90 from that plant so we might be 180ish miles apart or next door neighbors,  but we are still fellow Kentuckians! 

Once I was watering a hanging basket and a snake slithered out of it!  I was told they can drop from a tree into the gutter and follow that.  Was not poisonous but still, I think about it every time I water plants.  Guess he didn't like that cold water.

My cousin bought river property and had a terrible infestation but he kills them and each year, there are fewer and fewer.

I had oatmeal.  But fine, I will go get another fiber plus bar.  I am feeling the 48 hours w/o sleep today.  Might be a nap with baby day!

Yikes - I take it the deck you set on fire (or almost - did you light a match?  Sun could have done it too, if not!) was made of wood?   Smart hubby - sell at a loss or she will burn it down!

Lilly, the five-legged puppy at the center of a tug of war this week between a Charlotte, N.C., dog-lover and a Coney Island, N.Y., sideshow owner, had her extra appendage removed Thursday, PEOPLE Pets has learned.

The dog's new owner, Allyson Siegel — who purchased Lilly for $4,000 from Calvin Owensby, and outbid sideshow owner John Strong — says the 6-week-old terrier-Chihuahua mix had the surgery at a veterinarian's office, but preferred not to disclose the location. The operation took place amid reports that Strong was planning to file a lawsuit to get the dog back.

"Last night I called the surgeon and said, 'Will you take a look at her to see if she's healthy enough, see if you think that she could possibly have the surgery now?' And he did, and she did," Siegel tells PEOPLE Pets. Though the dog is still recovering and will not return home for another 24 to 36 hours, Siegel says she's "doing great. She's recovering well, no complications."
'This was always about Lilly'
Siegel, whose story was originally reported in the New York Daily News, says she will pay for the surgery bill — which could total up to $2,000 — with donations that she's received from several people who have heard of the dog's plight.

"In my mind it's kind of over. Just let it be over," she says, referring to Strong's legal threats. "I'm very happy that Lilly is fine and that she's going to be a normal dog. And get to have a normal life and not be in a cage. I don't personally have anything against him, Mr. Strong, I don't know him. This was really always about Lilly."

Prior to the surgery, the puppy couldn't sit, walk or lay properly because of the extra leg (which had six toes and protruded from her stomach). "She'd struggle to run up a hill or walk up a hill because she had to tug that thing behind her," says Siegel.

When she returns home, the dog will be running around like any other puppy — though she'll have to wear a cone to prevent her from biting her stitches. "She's got a lot of energy,” Siegel says of the Lilly's personality. "She plays hard and sleeps hard."

Plaintiff John Strong operates a New York animal show that features disfigured animals. He's suing the dog's original owner, Calvin Owensby, for $4,000.

Strong says Owensby reneged on an agreement to sell him the animal for $3,000. Owensby says they didn't sign a contract.

Owensby sold the Chihuahua-terrier mix to a North Carolina woman who wanted to keep the pooch out of the animal show. She's had the dog's fifth leg removed.

Former New York district attorney Jeanine Pirro's show is being taped Wednesday. It will air on Sept. 21.

Strong says if he wins the case, he plans to fight in court to reclaim the dog.

I go to pieces and can't read or listen to anykind of animal abuse, I can't even watch a tv show or movie if an animal gets hurt or dies, been like that since a kid. To all, sorry that I am posting 1 minute then gone for the next couple of hours, some times day(s). But it has been like that for a long while.

A friend and I rescued a snake one day. He/She was in the road in a some what quiet part of Philly.  My friend did most of the picking up, she's from MI.  I just petted the snake, and scolded it incase it might help the snake to not repeat that error. He/she really had a cute little face and soft not slimy skin.

I was clueless to this movie...thought it was a kid-friendly one since all the kids seemed to like it.  I was at a friends house and they put it on...throughout the whole movie everyone kept saying how Marley reminded them of Leroy when he was a pup.  I was still clueless till the end...then I got up and went home bawling my eyes out!  Some of my friends apparently aren't animal lovers.  It was horrible   ::MonkeyWaa::

Re: The deck - well your dh didn't say anything, but whose idea was it to sell the house?  So, I take it the fire was contained to the deck and didn't get the main house?  Did you guys rebuild the deck?

Hi ANJ.  I've been watching this thread to see if there were any new updates for little Crystol.  When my doggies are sick I usually make them chicken with rice.  This is usually easy on their tummies. 

I think an egg would be fine.  I am glad you got at least a small nap!! And you are eating!  Deenie and I will not have to do some whop up on you as long as you take care of yourself!! Yes the fire was just the deck...on a concrete pad on the far side of the pool. DH decided to sell the house. He said there was no need to be there and me be in fear all the time. We were fortunate to get an offer right away and even though we took a loss on the house it was worth the peace of mind. And we bought a wonderful house that we enjoyed for 15 years. ::MonkeyCheer2::

This is easy if you can get son to pick up a can of cooked chicken, like Sweet Sue or one of those, and some plain white rice.

ANJM - be careful what you feed my TTT.  I don't want her to get diarrhea.  My now retired vet used to recommend raw beef with rice.  He was old school and very good.   Maybe you should put a little chicken broth on her food so she will eat it.  Hand feed her too!  LOL

I did ask him about this cause you or someone mentioned it the other day.  He said she doesn't need it as it is really gallbladder not the liver.  The initial results showed liver failure.  He said today her regular food will be best as a big change now could be bad.  He said add water or gravy.    Water didn't work. 


 ::MonkeyShocked::  Drive- thru diva??  No more!!   Ask your vet if she should be on k/d wet food.  Very gentle on her stomache and has all nutrients she will need.

I've had more than one vet tell me to use the chicken-rice diet for a dog with diarrhea, so I don't think it should cause it.  But if you're worried, I would check.

LOL....you are too funny. I too make rice and chicken for mine...I use brown rice and I poach the chicken in chicken stock then mix together. Muffy may have a quicker recipe. I also cook them brown rice and ground sirloin...yes they are spoiled!! ::MonkeyHaHa:: ::MonkeyHaHa::

He was so high on Morphine and hne made me take him out for a cigarette. 3 cute little girls were staring at him and he said in a scarey voice -

Hoping things go well for little Crystol today, ANJ.

About a month ago, son and I found an Eastern Box Turtle on a street behind his house in east Texas.  It's about the size of the palm of my hand.  I believe he was an escaped pet and we put signs and such up and no one claimed him.   He had a very deep scrape on top of his shell.  He lives at my house now, and his name is "Silent Bob".  Normally if I found a turtle/tortoise out somewhere, I would just move it on across the road out of harms way.  But this one was found on a street with houses, two streets over from a very busy commercial street.  And the street he was on had really high curbs.  He was sitting on someone's front lawn.    I think he was an escapee.  "Silent Bob" is really friendly and follows us around like a puppy. 

My little blue parakeet "Cindy Lou Who" died on Sunday.  She was companion to our cockatiel "Bird".  It's sad when we lose our pets. 

I don't have any pet snakes.  Not too fond of snakes.  Most other creatures, but will take a pass on snakes...

there was a huge pasture behind us and the guy that owned the land had a very large compost pile near our fence.....I was so afraid of the snakes, it got to where I wouldn't go out in the back yard or let the dogs in the back. I no longer felt safe even walking to our pool.  The day I poured charcoal starter on one of the ground level decks and lit it , was the day my husband knew we couldn't stay there any long.  BTW...there were 5 snakes under that deck!

Thank you Bearly.  It's quiet around here without Cindy Lou.  I'm contemplating finding Bird another companion, so he won't be lonely.

Freak show owner gets cash, but no 5-legged puppy

CHICAGO (AP) -- Thanks to a Chicago TV judge, a Coney Island freak show operator is up $4,000 but down a five-legged puppy.

Judge Jeanine Pirro ruled during a taping of her show Wednesday that freak show owner John Strong is entitled to the cash after the dog's owner backed out of a contract to sell the Chihuahua-terrier mix to him.

Calvin Owensby agreed to sell the five-legged puppy formerly known as Precious to Strong on June 29. Strong sent Owensby $1,000, with a promise to deliver $2,000 more when Precious got to New York.

But Owensby, an unemployed electrician from Gastonia, N.C., balked days later after researching Strong online.

"I didn't know it was a freak show," a tearful Owensby told Pirro. "He said it was an amazing animal show."

She is a tad more perky.  She is fine with urine - she was going and going from the IV.  Still watching that other function. 
It cheered her up to have son here.  When he came back from grocery she was so glad he came to see her again! LOL

Muffy - I showed ds her ultrasound pics and explained them to him and he got a tear.  He said you know mom, she was my first dog too and Kiley loves her!

Lonely quiet.  She used to "sing" , chirp and croon.  Oh, there are still 5 dogs here, but it's not like a birdie singing
