Since I seem to be talking to myself...just want all our monkeys that could be affected by the weather in the Midwest and other places to know we are thinking about them...I was wondering about our Snoop Dog and the others that live in those states affected.  Anyone know?  Help me out here, if I have numbers for any of them I will call and check on them.  What about Misgivings?  Would she be affected?

Well, Ramm is not a lawyer. Just a Dutch citizen. But, he does study these things with this case. I would just hate to see no charges brought forward becasue of the mess the Dutch and Arubans made of this.
We have all discussed the errors, it would fill a whole thread.
Do you remember the beginning ? The first week or ten days of the events as they unfolded in real time ? It was obvious then.

I'm glad to hear that Joran was mentioned on SNL!  He's becoming a household word in the U.S.   :lol:   With the Jensen and DeVries coverage, it could be that justice will be served even though the "system" thus far has failed.  

For those who missed it, Kimberly is going to have something on the case tonight on The Lineup, although probably just what we've already heard.  The promo mentioned Carlo's alleged comments to Janssen.

Oh this is easy then...go into photobucket and choose that last line there under the photo that has the [IMG tags, brackets and all and just copy it and then paste it into your profile in the area at the bottom that says "link to off site avatar"  it may take you a few times but we will wait while you test it. just make sure you include the IMG tags with the brackets.

Amsterdam City Council said investigations had revealed about one-third of the prostitution sector is allegedly involved in money laundering.

About 100 of the 350 prostitution windows in the Dutch capital's red-light district will be forced to close by the end of the year.

The operators of the sex windows can still appeal, however, against the city council's decision to withdraw their permits. A total of 33 permits were revoked.
 
Amsterdam introduced a new law in 2003 which made it possible to investigate the operational management in the sex industry.

The new law was designed to prevent authorities unintentionally supporting criminal activities by issuing permits and subsidies.

It is the first time that the city council has used the new regulations. Amsterdam now intends to investigate the rest of the city's sex industry, including its brothels.

Hotels, cafés and restaurants will also be investigated.

I wonder if any of this will rub off on Aruba investigating criminal activities behind the walls of legitimate businesses.  There was also mention of 3 Italian mafia members being arrested, an abandoned baby being inundated with gifts and cocaine found in the toilets in the Dutch parliament.  No so different from the US.   :lol:

De Vries said that Carlo had a meeting with Karin Janssen and he told her that he thought Joran had a major role in the disappearance of Natalee.  He also told her it was up to her to find the evidence.  De Vries went to Antonio Carlo's office with a hidden camera and Antonio Carlo was very nervous discussing the matter.  Carlo then denies that he went to KJ.

Now that I am thinking about it more Antonio Carlo seems to think there is evidence that can be found.  He is giving her a hint that something can be found and she has to investigate it and she is just ignoring what he is saying.

Right San. That's how I see it. Not only is she "ignoring" it, but puts it in writing. She has to know the conversation wasn't something to put in writing.

Then, Carlo's office hires Paulus????

I really want to hear more about that.

I can't see them having it now. Unless then do they archive it out instead fo overwrite.
The shopping centre where I live keeps for 7 days, then overwrites are done.
In Aruba, there was a statement by Dompig, that, by the time Joran said he walked home, the street cams had been overwritten. So, it could not be proved or disproved. Probably the same with any activity around the Marriott.

The first night that the HT were there, and I got this from Deepak's statements, Beth told Joran that the cameras at the Hi did not show Natalee being dropped off. These were the front desk cameras.

I agree that something is up.

Karin Janssen went to the court hearing the other day so she can extend the investigation long enough so she can get out of town.  Now when this new prosecutor comes in he will be working with what she basically left in the files for him (which is nothing).  How will he know if there is evidence missing when he wasn't on the case from the beginning.  He will try and prosecute and he will come to court with a big blank.

Is Karin leaving the prosecutors office in Aruba to go back to Holland where her substantive position was ? My understanding was she was in Aruba on a two or three year term and after that, you go back to where you came from. She is way too young to be retiring from working.

KLAAS! Will you please, please answer just one Photoshop question for me? Maybe one a day for a life sentence, huh?

I can't do anything but lasso an image and move it to another, and then "background erase" until the unwanted edges are gone. That's so tedious! I know there has to be a way to only select the part you want to move to another image, right? Particularly when the image has that grey and white checkerboard as a background, or when the background is just a solid color. Can you "Tip of the day" me? I'm pressing "1" for English.  :lol:

Honestly, I'm still learning as well and I normally do it just like you do.  Sometimes, like in the case of Nonesuche's star, when it's a simple design that you simply want no background for, you can use the MAGIC WAND then erasing what you don't want is easier.

I really don't know many tricks.

There's a smartass at work that selects one of the "mask" options that makes the "dancing ants" go around selected colors and then it moves cleanly; no edges. I'm sure there are steps I'm not relaying here, 'cause I can't do it. He's sooooo condesending that I hate to ask him anything, but the "help" options on Photoshop are over my head.

This has been in the back of my mind since we figured out that this is nothing but a cover up.  What if the only reason for going to court is to exonerate Joran.  I mean stage kangaroo court so that the Sloots can then say he was found INNOCENT in a court of law the way they say now that he is innocent because no one collected any evidence??

That to me would be worse than having him walk the earth under a cloud of suspicion the rest of his life.  But to go to court and be found as they will say, Innocent in stead of just not guilty would be hard to take!!

Based on the little we saw of KJ I am going to guess 45 or a little more.
It is hard for me to figure out how old some women are. Depends on how much care has been taking place over the years.. diet exercise, that kind of thing.

Where are the written obits in Aruba ? This woman passed in June 18, 2005.

De Vries has shows coming up every Sunday.  His show tonight doesn't look like it has anything to do with the NH case.  Maybe his shows on 12/10 or 12/17 will though?

Written obits are in the various newspapers but I've been searching and haven't been able to pull up any of the obit archives for June 2005.

Maybe they disapppeared as so many things seem to do in this case... :roll:

No one would be callous enough to use a person for an alibi just because they died, would they?  Or to enhance their reputation for playing cards as Joran did exploiting the fact he knew Natalee would not be back to contradict him.

Paulus prolly read the obits daily to see who he could work into his storyline.  Sorry, I know pure speculation but I can believe he would think this way based on his and Joran's actions with regard to those who cannot tell their side of things.

But the woman died BEFORE Paulus said he talked to her, right?  No mention of even going to the bank in first statement then in the later one he not only went once but twice?

I can't think of much of any reason he is involving her other than she is dead and cannot contradict the fact he wasn't even there.

OTOH, it would take on a far more sinister meaning if he deposited say exactly $50 US, wouldn't it?

I'm fine.  Thanks for asking.  Had about 3 inches of ice.  We never lost our electricity, but many of my family members did.  All are doing fine.

My hubby was stranded at Lake of the Ozarks with my nephews.  Got 3 inches of ice then 12-15 inches of snow.  Ya'll these are Florida boys.  They were freakin out!!  :lol:  :lol:   Hubby made it home last night about 8pm, and the boys made it to St. Louis near Lambert airport around the same time.  Boys are headed back to Florida right now.  They had just bought a house at the lake.  This was their first trip to their "new" house.  They had to steal wood from the neighbors house.  Geez I hope they left a note.

Um.........they said they will be back in the spring, and will never listen to my weather report again!!   :lol:  :lol:  :lol:   I will never live this down.

It is.  And like the death of some of the others, Pitbull, Renee the refinery worker, etc. all seem sort of clustered around Natalee's disappearance.

And all those young people dying.  I suspect HIV/AIDS is a factor in some of those but still, the death/suicide rate must be very high.

Those weren't modeling photos of GVC, but photos he posted at his Hi5 site.  That's not to say that he hasn't modeled, I just don't believe that's where those photos came from.

6/18/05 was a Saturday, and also the day following Steve Croes arrest.  

6/23/05 (Thursday) was the date PVDS was arrested & said he talked to Ruth Dijkhoff at the bank...it doesn't say, however, that she, in fact, worked there, but I did find something inconclusive that could mean she had been a bank employee at another bank, prior.  R. Dijkhoff is a contact listed on a 2001 Registration form on this site:

If the deceased Ruth Dijkhoff-Holtmann is the same person he reference, I, too, am coming up with nothing more.  If she is the same person, it's eery, like many other things, that she'd was dead 3 weeks later.

You might be right 2NJsons.  Paulus is using her as his alibi for seeing him at the bank.  He might in fact have a deposit slip that he deposited money that day but it doesn't mean he is the one who made the deposit.  Paulus makes it a point in saying he went to the bank twice that day and the first time the line was long so he went back later on.  That could be pure BS on his part because he was still at home cleaning the crime scene.

I think Paul's banking story was a complete fabrication and the only way he could explain his absence from work and his presence in the area of his home.  There were no gambling profits to deposit by Joran's own admission.  How did Ruth Dijkhoff's name get drawn into it?  The polis must have asked PVDS if anyone could verify his new fangled story.  Maybe Ruth was employed at that bank branch and Paul knew this from prior visits or, his maid, Rita was a relative of Ruth's and mentioned this to Paul.  Maybe Ruth was nowhere near the bank that day but Paul would certainly have known that she had died by the time he made up his story.
I am sure that when someone dies in Aruba - everybody knows within hours or they read it in the newspapers.  That's about the nicest theory I have. The darker version is that she was murdered because she and Paul did see each other on May 30 and not at the bank.  It is so hard to pin down an accurate series of events when we don't know half of the evidence and most of the suspect's are complete liars.  It is so frustrating.

I distinctly recall the MB girls being interviewed and saying that Natalee drank. I also distinctly recall they said she was NEVER out of control or severely intoxicated.

I have been flamed for saying this, too, but like you, I just don't see it.  And NOT because I don't think drug addictions cross socio-economic boundaries and that anyone can end up addicted or in a crack house, etc. but she was only missing a few hours, for crying out loud!

I just don't think The first minute she was out of sight of the group she headed for a cocaine dealer or checked into a crackhouse.  I doubt if she or most of that little group would know cocaine if they tripped over it.  One of my kids has been in Birmingham in school for eight years and says he has never seen cocaine.  Ecstasy, crystal meth, uppers, downers for studying but not powder form cocaine but plenty of booze.  Lots of the med school kids are real health freaks and just don't do much of that stuff.

She did not have any history of use of cocaine and I do NOT believe the statement deVries is quoting is from one of them.  Some are just making that claim because it is ambiguous.  He might well have considered the source and I do think it is JORAN who said she offered him a line of coke.

BS!!  Yeah, some kids in the ultra conservative Deep South have drug problems and their parents smack them in rehab before they know what hit them especially in places like MB.  And yes, they would know all about it for it is like living in a fish bowl sometimes.  Also schools do drug tests on kids who are in extra curricular activities for insurance purposes, etc.  Everyone would know and yet all say she had nothing to do with drugs.

I need to hear if from some non Aruban and someone other than JORAN the LIAR to believe this for one minute.

Sorry to those who like this idea but I know too many kids this age and just about like these and they are not into cocaine.  Alcohol remains their drug of choice even much more so than their parents from the 60's.  That would be my age group and I have no problem saying somebody does drugs if they do.  Overachiever kids can't do them and keep up with the demands of school these days.

There is nothing in the 302's about ANY drug use whatsoever.
Deepak denied that he did any kind of drugs with her and that he did not see her use any narcotics.

Jossy said it has been definately been confirmed that they molested the girl while she was going in and out of consciousness.

Officials contacted me, and there is really no doubt not for one percent that he said it...

Joe does not know what happened i think, i have a recording with a candid camera that shows the opposite of what he is saying. he is not informed.

He confirmed that these boys admitted it to the police they molested her. I have not given the tape to anyone yet because there are so many things that happen here, people you can't trust. I will present the tape when they take it to court.

I think what devries said, with one of joran's first responses was that they took her to his residence....we have four different versions of how he made the one trip home...

Beth, so many things have transpired  , the pros did not communicate with the family like she should have. it is their responsiblity and when i think how kj treated us.....at least this gives us affirmation that we were right and they never had any intention on really pursuing these suspects.

To me, this is a little bit scary as I am afraid she is acting in collusion with Carol to get a mistrial or total dismissal of charges for Joran because of his having inadequate counsel.

It was tried in this area with the attorney for Judith Neeley saying he fell in love with her and so she had inadequate counsel because he was no longer objective, something like that.  So it is a last ditch attorney trick sometimes.

Feds say he has pocketed over 3 mill in taxes.

Charges include money laundering, and he will not be released from jail because he is a flight risk. They say he has threatned to burn down his ex wifes home...

Beth: Joe has been great for us with our ordeal, joe has helped out us, and others.  As far as what we experienced he has always been there for us, and has been commited and been terrific and I hate that this is happening.  He has been a great friend to us, he never NOT answered his cell phone, he was always encouraging when we were depressed.

I just hate that this is happening, it's a tragedy, and I am standing by him.

Lisa: the crime is called felon in possesion, he is not allowed to have a gun, they had a warrant, the gun was on his night stand. this is a pretty good case for the feds, but i think the good things he has done will help him out in sentencing a bit...but he will do time because he should not have a gun.

Brian:  he is in trouble, there can be no plea bargaining here, it is a mandatory 60 month sentence.....The statute was made a couple of years ago to have a handgun.

Hi, dear, I am OK, just suffering through a nasty head cold. The furnace was out for the wind storm, but it is fixed now. We had terrible wind Friday. Half of the roof's shingles are scattered through my back yard.
My brother and his family flew back from Germany in it and had a 3 and one half hour delay in the Newark, NJ airport.
I had to take cone off my little Peanut's head or go search for her in another county. The wind was just awful.

The court filing requested Mammana be kept in custody while awaiting trial on recent gun charges. U.S. Magistrate L. Felipe Restrepo granted the request, denying bail because he said Mammana was a flight risk.

Mammana was arrested on Thursday, the day after authorities found a loaded handgun in his home during a search for evidence of possible mail and wire fraud, according to an arrest warrant.

G. Gordon Liddy says he can't have a gun because of being a convicted felon but that Mrs. Liddy has quite an extensive collection.  I hope Joe's father lives under the same roof.  Depending on local gun laws, that might be his only way to beat that one.

You are right, they will likely make him pay the taxes but he might avoid jail on that but not the gun.  Was registered to his father.

Mandatory 60 month sentence on the gun charge. No plea bargaining. the loaded gun was registered back in 1979 under his dads name. I am not even sure if his dad is still even alive.

Mail and wire fraud.  Those postal inspectors strike again.  Wish they would go after Paulus for writing that bogus letter he claimed was from Natalee.

So it is tax on that amount and not that amount in taxes.  Well, obviously he had a lot of expenses, lol!  

And he is physically in the slammer even as we speak.   :evil: No bail seems rather harsh considering his roots in the community and his egg business and all that.

Kimberly:  Dutch Crime Reporter Peter De Vries conducted the investigation.  I asked him about his conversation with Van der Sloot’s first attorney Antonio Carlo.  Listen to this.

Peter:  Well we paid Carlo a visit in his office and we recorded that with candid camera and at first he tried to deny that there had been a meeting with head prosecutor but after a while he realized what we knew and then he got very uncomfortable and admitted that there had been a meeting and that was with the head prosecutor and panicked and he was very uncomfortable with this.

Kimberly:  Now how did Antonio Carlo describe why he met Karin Janssen?

Peter:  Well he didn’t want to tell us very much about it but what we found out that there was a secret meeting and that’s highly unusually because head prosecutor is not allowed to have talks during an investigation with the lawyer or attorney so that’s very strange and also Karin Janssen the head prosecutor wrote us a fax in which she admitted that a meeting took place so it’s impossible to deny that there was a meeting.

Kimberly:  And what was divulged during these meetings.

Peter:  Well in the meeting Mr. Carlo said that he had to clear his conscience and that Joran Van der Sloot played a major part in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.  No doubt at all that he said that.

Kimberly:  Did he go into any other details in terms of what that means played a major part in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway?

Peter:  Well he then stated to the head prosecutor that it was up to the police and the justice to get the full proof of this but that he wanted to clear his conscience and that yeah they had to do the work.

Kimberly:  And how many letters were exchanged back and forth between them and what information was in those letters?

Peter:  Well the head prosecutor wrote him a letter and she asked for more details and then Mr. Carlo got scared because his tip was certainly on paper and he didn’t expect that because it was a secret meeting and when Karin Janssen put it on paper he realized it was no longer a secret so then he wrote a letter back and denied he had said something like that.

Kimberly:  Now have any of the Aruban or Dutch Officials contacted you about this important information?

Peter:  Yeah they contact me I have several sources in this case and there is really no doubt not for one percent that he said that.

Kimberly:  And what do the investigators make of this?

Peter:  Now they make of this of course that Joran Van der Sloot is responsible for the disappearance of Natalee.

Kimberly:  Wow.  Now you know of course Joran’s current attorney Joe Tacopina said that this is making up facts your fabricating facts there was no such meeting.

Peter:  No then (Peter started laughing) he doesn’t know what happened I think and I have recording with our candid camera which shows the opposite of what he is saying so I don’t think he’s very well informed.

Kimberly:  Alright well Peter thank you so much in joining me tonight and talking about these new developments.

Peter:  OK welcome.

Jossy Mansur by phone:

Kimberly:  I got to ask you what did the former police chief say to you about Joran Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brother’s involvement in Natalee’s disappearance.

Jossy:  He definitely confirmed that they admitted to the police that they had molested the girl while she was going in and out of consciousness but among other things that he said.

Kimberly:  And how long was this conversation and who specifically did you speak to.

Jossy:  I spoke to Gerald Dompig the conversation took place in my office for about an hour and I have it all on video tape.

Kimberly:  Any why did you video tape it Jossy?

Jossy:  Because as the Diario we usually do that with people we don’t trust to begin with. To have a documented proof of whatever we are going to publish in the future.

Kimberly:  Alright well there are many people who doubt that you have this tape and want to know in fact is contained in this video tape?  Do you have a transcript of this?

Jossy:  You know many people doubt many things I say but after I publish the truth everybody becomes quiet.  They go into a profound silence.  But we have the proof I have the tape the video tape, we have various copies of it made.

Kimberly:  OK and you claim to have a transcript in fact that links the boys to Natalee’s disappearance.  Do you have that for us that you can read a portion of that?

Jossy:  I can read a portion for you for example when I asked him about the case he said well you know we cannot go because we don’t have a body but you have a model crime and on the basis of their own declarations, I’m quoting him at the bottom now and then he said look if it’s not rape they fingered her, they did a lot of things to her according to their own declarations and he we have an article in our penal code that provides an eight year sentence for that.  If you do that to a girl who is not conscious they themselves said that she passed out on (inaudible) phases in the car.  That means if you do that to a person who cannot defend herself it’s eight years.  He told me this (inaudible) I’m quoting from the tape.

Kimberly:  And what else did he tell you?

Jossy:  He told me many other things.  For example you are not talking about Joran alone because while the other guy was driving the car they were making out with the girl in the back.

Kimberly:  And when you say they who was he referring to did he specify the Kalpoe brothers?

Jossy:  He said the Kalpoe brothers with Joran yes.

Kimberly:  Did you ask him why he didn’t do anything with this information and why a case wasn’t presented by the prosecutor?

Jossy:  No because I thought they would proceed on the basis of a model crime because he confirmed that these three suspects admitted this to the police.

Kimberly:  Jossy have you presented this tape to the new police chief or the prosecutor’s office.  Who else has the information?

Jossy:  The tape I only have the tape, I haven’t given it to anyone because so many things have happened in this case and so many mistrusts of who you can trust and who you cannot trust so I will present it to the prosecution when this case goes to court.

Kimberly:  Jossy Mansur thank you for being on with me tonight.

If Joe M is still on probation, that could be revoked and he could be required to server the balance of his sentence on the gun possession.

Don't have any idea which would be longer, that or the sixty months Jacquie said.  

Gun laws still vary by state, I do know that.  Alabama has very lenient laws on them compared even to Georgia right next door.  For example, I can legally own a stun gun.   :D Now there's a scary thought, isn't it?

Jossy has a tape of Dompig saying the boys admitted to raping Natalee.  JoeT keeps mentioning the Skeeters tapes.  I've always thought it odd that no capitalistic attorney - Aruban or US - took this case on contingency.  After all, if it's as bogus as JoeT and Arlene claim with verification of that by one of the most highly respected forensic organizations on planet Earth, it would be a slam dunk law suit.  So why has no one sued Skeeters and Dr. Phil?  I'll tell you why.  Because the tapes were legit and Deepak's statements were not misrepresented on Dr. Phil's show.

Rizzo from Chicago is the detective that I understood was "hired for" the Sloots and not by them, and also related to frank Rizzo of Philadelphia, who retired to Aruba with a lot of money to invest that he had gotten from questionable sources, and I believe he still resides there, possibly avoiding taxes.

Just google eddie Rizzo, detective from Chicago.  I once had a whole file on him but deleted it all.  He is a sleeze bag associated with some high-profile, low-moral people.  He used to be on Fox in the morning arguing for the Sloots (not on Fox & Friends but some other programs) and that was before I learned he had been "hired for" the sloots.  So there must be a whole lot of worry to hire this guy; he usually works for people like senators, presidents (who want to dig up dirt on old girlfriends).
