That made me happy when he told me that he wants to start going to church with me. I hope the new medicine works too. I will consider the linen closet if I am still walking.  Did my daughters closet yesterday, 2 huge bags to goodwill.  Have to do youngest son's closet this week as well.

For dinner tonight I am doing a rosemary stuffed chicken on the BBQ rotisserie with fresh garden potatoes and garden baby corn.  I want to make a chocolate zucchini cake today but not sure I will get there.

We are having smothered chicken and gravy, over left over rice from last night, fordhook lima beans, and of course tomato slices. Also having leftover bacon cornbread from the other night I put in the freezer. I just heated a small piece in the microwave, and it is better today. I think we will have cooked chocolate jello pudding. That is about as fancy a desert as I can muster for now.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi intends to present a unified, redrafted health care reform bill next week, the head of the House Democratic Caucus said Wednesday.

Chairman John Larson said the new bill would meld together parts of legislation written and approved in July by the House Education, Ways and Means and Energy and Commerce committees. But Larson cautioned against people reading this as the last step in a long health care journey for the House.

"That won't be the final answer," said Larson of Connecticut. "This is the refining process."

There continues to be a lot of back-and-forth between varying wings of the Democratic caucus. The most-liberal factions are pushing for the so-called "public option," a federal health insurance plan that would be made available to people who are uninsured. But some conservative Democrats are bucking that idea, preferring to limit the scope of the plan.

The lengthy, behind-the-scenes negotiations have left many scratching their heads as to how Pelosi will secure the necessary votes to pass the bill without alienating at least one branch of her caucus.

"You should be the head of the caucus," Larson responded when asked if he thought the status of the legislation was hard to track. "I can't quite get a feel for where we're going to go. Every day reveals a new wrinkle or nuance."

Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer have recently underscored their support for government-operated insurance, a position that has created some consternation among the moderate and conservative "Blue Dog" Democrats in the House.
"There was quite a bit of dismay," Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin of South Dakota said about reaction from the Blue Dogs to the apparent push for an government-run option. "We sort of feel like we're getting mixed messages."

Herseth Sandlin, one of the Blue Dog leaders, said she didn't think Pelosi and Hoyer had the votes to pass a health care reform package without the help of moderate Democrats.

"If the leadership feels they have the votes for H.R. 3200 (the health care reform bill), then they don't need to negotiate (with us) and bring this to a vote," Herseth Sandlin said. "Right now I don't think they have the votes to pass H.R. 3200."

Questions have also swirled about whether the House would wait for the Senate Finance Committee to write its health care bill this week. Larson conceded that House Democrats were "taking a look at what the Senate is doing." But he made it clear that House action is not contingent on the Senate.

"Honestly , we don't worry about the Senate," Larson said. "And God bless them."

Dammit! I KNEW this was coming. Medicare has put a gag order on Humana to tell it customers that the new HealthCare Bill WILL cut medicare benefits. We have Humana Medicare + as our insurance provider. We were told me needed prescription care, and we have been very satisfied with our coverage. Now they can't even tell us what our benefits will be.

The Congressional Budget Office is saying there will be Medicare cuts and yet our provider is not allowed to tell us.   They are lying to us folks!!!!   ::MonkeyMad:: ::MonkeyMad::

All you need to remember is to reset the router...techy talk for unplugging the power to the router, letting it sit for 60 seconds while it thinks about it's sins, then plug it back in. You'll have to restart any internet programs (which I forgot to tell you to shut down first). Happens to me all the time, I know I need a new router...but I'd rather buy drugs with the money! Cheap antibiotics, THAT'S what I'm talkin' bout!

Fanny, they have already cut the fee schedule for doctors where some doctors won't even see Medicare patients. They gotta make cuts in benefits in order to give benefits to those that don't have insurance. What kind of d*mn sense does that make. NONE whatsoever. I am mad as h*ll too right now.

The so called "uninsured" could be insured, by either buying their insurance, going to a publicly funded hospital (county) or paying out of pocket. These d*mn democrats think healthcare is a right, but it isn't. You and the rest of the seniors paid gazillions of dollars into Medicare through your taxes, and now they are trying to cut benefits.

I think AARP and the senior citizens need to wheelchair, hoveround or use walkers and canes and march on Washington, like the protest a few weeks ago. The MSM will HAVE to cover a protest of elderly people in a good light or the MSM will no longer be in business. Hope that makes sense and that is JMO. Hugs. JSM

Sorry, had a phone call from a classmate. REally, I'm tired and tired of being tired (here, in this thread, I know you all totally get that!) The PA didn't seem to think the infection was too bad, but I wouldn't let her take off the last steri strips, I told her I'm sick sick sick of pain. What's really funny is that one day last week, I felt so good! So, I guess this is how it's gonna be. I tend to run to infections, so I guess I need to be more assertive about antibiotics. Until this stupid cancer (hear that, cancer? I'm dissn' you again!) I've had antibiotics about 1x every 2 years, so it's not like I've built up a tolerance for them.

Turns out I didn't miss much at class, I'm pretty clear on the assignment. I just knew I was sick when I didn't even feel like doing homework....usually I love doing homework.

Wow, is this all about me or what? YOu mentioned a medi=port or something for the chemo? Why? It's only 2 hours every 3 weeks. Is it that important? to me it just seems like another place to have trouble with!

  I'm sorry about the infection and hope I don't sound like a mom. But if you are having your mastectomy, have a mediport put in please if they can do it at the same time.

 Two hours every three weeks doesn't sound like much, but a mediport is so much easier to access than going through your veins.

Think of a mediport as when you plug in your blow dryer into an outlet, easy access instead of them having to try and find the electrical cords in the wall (i.e. your vein) then plugging into the electricity. I don't know how to explain it, but a mediport is under the skin, they jab the juice into you and you won't feel a thing.

That is JMO and your sister and doctor know more than I do, but I have dealt with chemo patients (coworkers and family members) that have had it both ways and the ones with the mediport did much better during their treatments with the mediport.

I hope this made sense. I have had my cough medicine and I am not good at explaining things. But IMO if I had to go through what you are I would choose the mediport.  ::MonkeyAngel::

JSM AARP is not on the side of Medicare patients.  I have received two sets of petitions from them to send to my Senators and Congressman in favor of the President's so-called health reform.  I sent one set back with the notation that "I am not a Socialist." These people who run AARP are so left wing they gave an award to Harry Belafonte just after he returned from his trip to hug Hugo Chavez.  They support Obama.  They have double-crossed every Medicare patient in the country.  They have lost thousands of members.  The only reason I am a member is because I have my supplementary insurance through them.  I'm going to see if I have to be a member to keep it because I sure don't want to be a member of that lefty group. There's another SS group which I'm going to investigate because they reflect my political opinions somewhat better that that bunch of Socialists at AARP.

I never thought I would say this, but I am ashamed of the President of the United States.  His performance today kissing the butt of dictators was the final straw. The only thing he ever does is make speeches and appoint Communists to top positions in the White House.  I thought it would be possible to just wait out four years and elect someone with some pride in the country and someone who would not blame his own country for the ills fo the world.  Now I believe that we will never again have an election.  He will have himself appointed president for life when he orchestrates a Constitutional Convention to do away with what we have followed for more than 200 years. 

And yes, I am a "Birther."  If he has a US birth certificate, why won't he produce it?  That so-called birth certificate is a certificate of a live birth and his sister, who admits to being born in Indonesia has the same thing.  I think he is a usurper and before too long, I won't be allowed to say that and I will be among the first to be done away with by "Death panels."  Actually, that's the only way to shut me up.

During his presidential campaign, then Senator Barack Obama told a Christian Broadcasting Network correspondent something that should have alerted -- if not frightened every one of the tens of millions of Christians in the United States.

Obama told CBN's David Brody: ""I think that the right might worry a bit more about the dangers of sectarianism. Whatever we once were, we're no longer just a Christian nation; we are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers."

If that tidbit of information wasn't enough to question Obama's vision for America, he previously said in a 2007 speech that "whatever we once were, we're no longer a Christian nation."

He went on to state, "We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, and a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers."

Then he uttered his zinger: "Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and started being used to drive us apart. It got hijacked. Part of it's because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, who've been all too eager to exploit what divides us."

While Obama professed to be a Christian, Americans soon learned his pastor and religious mentor was an America-bashing racist who found a "trusted friend" in the Nation of Islam's Louis Farrakhan, a man known for his unbridled bigotry against Jews and white Christians. Of course, being the political animal he is, Obama eventually distanced himself from his pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

According to a news story by World Net Daily, Obama's comment about the "Christian Right" was mild compared to statements made by his national campaign co-manager, Merrill A. McPeak.

McPeak seemed to compare evangelical Christians to the terror groups Hamas and Hezbollah. He told the newspaper The Oregonian that Hamas and Hezbollah were similar to Oregonian Christians whom he labeled radicals.

Once safely entrenched in the Oval Office, President Obama decided to show his true stance on Christianity. He did away with the annual National Day of Prayer on which the White House traditionally hosted a service in its East Room. When a reporter asked Obama's press secretary Robert Gibbs about Obama's decision, Gibbs replied, "Prayer is something that the president does everyday." However, Gibbs did promise that Obama would sign a proclamation to recognize the day, as many administrations in the past have done.

While President George W. Bush marked the National Day of Prayer with a service at the White House for each of the eight years he served, this year, President Obama decided against holding a public ceremony.

However, in the midst of a war against radical Islam and his push to takeover health care, President Obama found time to hold a White House dinner honoring the Muslim holiday of Ramadan Kareem. And the guest list did not only include Muslims. Many Washington elites attended the ceremony including some Republicans such as Senator Richard Lugar.
But there's more. There are plans to hold a national prayer gathering of Muslims on September 25 in front of the US Capitol Building. According to one source, they are expecting at least 50,000 to attend from Mosques all across America. They say that they want Americans to see how they pray.

It's a shame that the Obama White House ignored the National Day of Prayer and instead issued a paper proclamation, meanwhile he has a White House Celebration for a Muslim holiday. I have no problem with the Muslim holiday but I do have a problem when it is celebrated in lieu of the National Day of Prayer. With Obama ramming down Ramadan down the throats of Americans, I hope Americans realize their leader uses faith as a political prop.
