I took my first pill of Celexa, well actually it is the generic form, because the real pill was $90 and I said no way  ::MonkeyEek:: I was having a bad spell this afternoon, my older daughter called and her husband lost his job, they are really going through a bad time right now. Well any way, wishful thinking probably on my part, but that new pill calmed me down and off the ceiling, so I hope it continues. So, I hope everyone has a good evening. I feel so bad that so many people are having a hard time, my thoughts and prayers.  ::MonkeyAngel::

I'm glad to hear the Celexa worked and quickly.  I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's husband losing his job so many are struggling with our economy in the toilet.  Keep the faith and I will keep you and them in my thoughts and prayers.  :smt058

I hardly know what to say. I just had to logout this afternoon. I just curled up in a ball with Miss Kitty and I didn't wake up until about an hour ago. My son had come home and fixed Chicken Fettuchini and they were waiting for me to eat.

My heart is broken for the news we got today about how Caylee died. The shootings of the past two days have about ripped out my heart already.

It said something like this..."Allah's holy warrior was shot down by a woman", Not a direct quote because I am not at work but I thought that was very ironic how he was paralyzed by a woman and will never be able to function with his 72 virgins.  ::MonkeyWink::

Thanks, bad out there with jobs, CA has a very high unemployment rate, they are thinking about going to Seattle, he may be able to get a job with a friend, or Las Vegas by his grandma, so right now I don't know  ::MonkeyNoNo::

I am so glad to hear that No Rose. Yes I could take him to the pet lodge, but it is way on the total opposite side of where I will be going. If I don't find a sitter, that is probably what I will have to do. There is a fancy day care over here, but I would have to find his shot records and all that crap, plus I don't know if they are opened on Sundays.

They have got those guys and gals at Ft Hood gagged as to what they say. We will never know the real truth. We are being hit in our midsection, at one of the strongest Army posts. One man DID NOT DO THIS!!!!! Hasan had the first and only visitor at his apartment the morning before he did this. He was dressed in Muslim garb, per the apartment manager. What was the sirens and shooting at the housing units, two separate ones, way after the shooting at the Readiness Center? That occurred on the OTHER side of the post? We are NOT being told the truth.

Meanwhile, the Health Care bill has made it to the House of Representatives. My, aren't they proud of themselves?? Now they are going to vote for US!!! Just the way we want them to.  ::MonkeyMad:: ::MonkeyMad::

I am over 65 myself, (but a young one, I might add.) The death panel has already been formed and funded, and is waiting for the Health Care bill to be voted in. Of course, it is not called that, it has a fancy name that doesn't sound like what it is. But it is there, have no doubt about it.  Maybe I should just watch Andy Griffith myself, but I am waiting for the Bama game. I've got to hurry up and put my cheerleader outfit on. One of my favorite shows Keeping Up Appearances, watched an hour of it last night  ::MonkeyCool::   I'm not sure what the citizens of the country are supposed to do. All I know is I go and vote everytime, make sure I study the people I vote for, read all the propositions, and we always have a ton of those to vote for. I guess after all these years I realized what I think matters to nobody but myself. I do believe the country needs somekind of health care reform, just don't know what kind, and even if I did what would it matter? And with the Fort Hood masacre, we will not be told the truth. FBI and surely people close to the shooter knew he was a threat, and the families of the wounded and dead, they deserve an answer.

I guess I have Caylee and the Fort Hood shooting on my mind too much. We made a little trip around to the War Memorial in our local park for a little while. I thought I had cried myself out. I guess not. I couldn't quit sobbing, and I still can't. The Iraq war and the Afghanistan war doesn't have a plaque there yet. That makes me even sadder, to think soldiers are dying everyday and there is not a plaque there yet, although this is a fairly new memorial, with bricks with a family member for each that served in all the wars from this little town. I will make a call in the morning on Monday to ask when they intend to put up new plaques.

Hey Monkeys. Sorry I haven't posted today/tonight. I have been trying to catch up on the Fort Hood thread. I am so sick of our CIC. I have never hated one so much in my life. It is all about photo ops and he doesn't give a rats azz about our Soldiers/Sailors/Airmen or Marines.

I was totally disgusted when the 18 Soldiers coffins came back from Afghanistan and he begged to get his photo op to each family and one finally relented. I was in a car today with a full bird Colonel (retired) today and he and I talked about BHO and his attitude towards the military. I am proud to say, he is as disgusted as JSM the way BHO treats our military. I am spent today reading all the posts about the dead and wounded at Fort Hood.

  I just can't stop feeling exactly what you wrote, I hate saying anything because her parents seem like decent people that I can see, but I'm thinking maybe a lot of pressures put on her. It's been tough today, I'm ok then I cry. He's still here with us, but he's not himself. He's still eating and he'll go out to do his business, but then he just lays down. Doc says he is weak cause his red blood cells are so low, half what they should be. The new med is supposed to help, but I haven't noticed him perking up any yet. It just kills me to see him this way. He looks so sad. I want to scoop him in my arms and hold him, but he's so big it's too hard. Thanks so much for ALL the thoughts and prayers, it means so much!

In a victory for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House narrowly passed landmark health care legislation Saturday night to expand coverage to tens of millions who lack it and place tough new restrictions on the insurance industry. Republican opposition was nearly unanimous.

The 220-215 vote cleared the way for the Senate to begin a long-delayed debate on the issue that has come to overshadow all others in Congress.

A triumphant Speaker Nancy Pelosi likened the legislation to the passage of Social Security in 1935 and Medicare 30 years later -- and Obama issued a statement saying, "I look forward to signing it into law by the end of the year."

"It provides coverage for 96 percent of Americans. It offers everyone, regardless of health or income, the peace of mind that comes from knowing they will have access to affordable health care when they need it," said Rep. John Dingell, the 83-year-old Michigan lawmaker who has introduced national health insurance in every Congress since succeeding his father in 1955.

In the run-up to a final vote, conservatives from the two political parties joined forces to impose tough new restrictions on abortion coverage in insurance policies to be sold to many individuals and small groups. They prevailed on a roll call of 240-194.
Ironically, that only solidified support for the legislation, clearing the way for conservative Democrats to vote for it.

The legislation would require most Americans to carry insurance and provide federal subsidies to those who otherwise could not afford it. Large companies would have to offer coverage to their employees. Both consumers and companies would be slapped with penalties if they defied the government's mandates.

Insurance industry practices such as denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions would be banned, and insurers would no longer be able to charge higher premiums on the basis of gender or medical history. In a further slap, the industry would lose its exemption from federal antitrust restrictions on price fixing and market allocation.

At its core, the measure would create a federally regulated marketplace where consumers could shop for coverage. In the bill's most controversial provision, the government would sell insurance, although the Congressional Budget Office forecasts that premiums for it would be more expensive than for policies sold by private firms.

A cheer went up from the Democratic side of the House when the bill gained 218 votes, a majority. Moments later, Democrats counted down the final seconds of the voting period in unison, and let loose an even louder roar when Pelosi grabbed the gavel and declared, "the bill is passed."

The bill drew the votes of 219 Democrats and Rep. Joseph Cao, a first-term Republican who holds an overwhelmingly Democratic seat in New Orleans. Opposed were 176 Republicans and 39 Democrats.

MINNEAPOLIS —  A Minnesota teen who fled the state to avoid chemotherapy has finished his cancer treatment.

Daniel Hauser of Sleepy Eye underwent his final radiation session Friday, and his family says the 13-year-old is cancer-free.

Daniel gained national attention when he stopped treatment after one session in February and fled, citing his religious beliefs. After he returned, he underwent court-ordered chemo to treat Hodgkin's lymphoma, then started radiation therapy.

Family spokesman Dan Zwakman tells KSTP-TV everything is going as planned. A call to the family's home from The Associated Press rang unanswered Saturday.

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates -- U.S. Homeland Security officials are working with groups around United States to head off any possible anti-Muslim backlash following the shootings at Fort Hood in Texas, the agency's chief said Sunday.

The comments by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano also appeared part of efforts to reassure the Arab world that U.S. authorities were taking measures to quell anti-Islam sentiments after last week's rampage by an American-born Muslim serving as U.S. Army psychiatrist.

"This was a terrible tragedy for all involved," Napolitano told reporters in the United Arab Emirates' capital Abu Dhabi. "Obviously, we object to -- and do not believe -- that anti-Muslim sentiment should emanate from this."
Napolitano said her agency is working with state and local groups to try to deflect any anti-Muslim anger after the Thursday attacks by Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim who reportedly expressed growing dismay over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The shootings left 13 people dead and 29 wounded.

"This was an individual who does not, obviously, represent the Muslim faith," she said after meeting with a group of women university students.

Napolitano also planned talks with Emirates security officials, but gave no further details. Cooperation on security issues have been stepped up in recent years after airlines began direct flights between the UAE and the United States.

Last week, Napolitano was in Europe for meetings with political leaders and security officials.

Yahoo - FORT HOOD, Texas – A U.S. Army spokesman says the man authorities say went on a shooting spree at Fort Hood has been taken off a ventilator but still remains in intensive care at a military hospital.
Spokesman Col. John Rossi told reporters on Saturday at Fort Hood that he is not sure if Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is able to communicate.

Hasan was shot during an exchange of gunfire during Thursday's attack. The military moved him on Friday to Brooke Medical Center in San Antonio, about 150 miles southwest of Fort Hood. Army officials have said Hasan is "not able to converse."

Speaking from the Rose Garden about 14 hours after the late Saturday vote, Obama urged senators to be like runners on a relay team and "take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people."
The problem is that the Senate won't run with it. The government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to a few Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate.

If a government plan is part of the deal, "as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote," said Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Connecticut independent whose vote Democrats need to overcome GOP filibusters.

"The House bill is dead on arrival in the Senate," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said dismissively.

ORLANDO -- Orange County shares the pain in Fort Hood, Texas with its former sheriff.

Kevin Beary told News 13 his nephew is one of the solders critically wounded in the deadly shootout.

"It is absolutely gut-wrenching and it hurts the heart," Beary said.

Beary openly expressed the pain he's feeling over his nephew, Patrick Zeigler, 28.

Zeigler, a noncommissioned soldier stationed at Fort Hood, recently completed two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.

He was heading off to Officer Candidate School in two weeks.

However, those plans stopped short Thursday afternoon when a soldier opened fire on him and dozens of others at the base.
   
Zeigler suffered multiple shots to the body and the head, and Beary admits things don't look good.
"We're hoping, doctors have said it's 50/50, so the next 72 hours will tell a lot of things, but we're praying for him and hope those prayers work," Beary said.

Beary said he was teaching a criminal justice class when he got the news about his nephew.
   
His priority now is helping his family get through this tough time.

"And I'm kind of like everybody else because nobody's been able to talk to Patrick and get his side of the story, since he's so critically wounded,” Beary said. “That we want him to pull through and we want him to tell us what happened because that will probably be some of the pieces that the Army, and their law enforcement division, the FBI need to know about."

Zeigler is one of 30 others injured at Fort Hood. Thirteen people were killed.

I took Josef to daycare with plans on picking him up tonight. It didn't happen, by the time I got halfway there, I called and told them to feed him and let him sleep. It was getting dark, crazy traffic I guess coming from the TMS (I guess the Nascar race is over) and I was a nervous wreck.

Anyways, about my skating workshop. It was so much fun. I was in the "beginner's" group and was made to do harder things than the others. Then my old coach decided to get on the ice with me and was making me do hard jumps and spins. I landed every jump including a combination jump. Then at the VERY end of class we are doing a these stupid edge things and I fell on my AZZ and my hand. I am going to be so sore in the morning. That is another reason Josef is at school. Yeah I was there the last of April both times I have been. It is beautiful country. We went to the Rose gardens in Tyler the first time I came out year before last. I will let you know when I am coming. I am waiting on a special with AirTran before I buy tickets.

No not during spring break lol. I love that place...but loved New Orleans better.

I did not feel the best in the world when I came out the last time. I ended up having emergency back surgery 2 weeks before I was to leave to go out there. But was not about to lose my money I had paid for my tickets, so I just pilled and patched up and got on the plane. So hoping this trip is better.

NOROSE, when I went to the doctor the last time I was having trouble with a sore, stopped up ear. There was a big plug of earwax on the eardrum, and they couldn't get it out. I was told to get DEBROX (over the counter) and use as directed. Within a day, the plug came out and I have had no more pain or problem. I don't know if earwax is part of your problem or not.

The best thing I have found for pain is rock salt in a small bag, heated in the microwave or in the oven. It really relieves the pain of an earache. I used to keep a small muslim bag with a draw string just for earaches. The salt pulls the moisture out of the ear.

I hope it is better. I have been plagued with earaches all my life.

Well I hope this trip is better too. I don't blame you for not cancelling. I went to Virginia for a skating exhibition with Sasha Cohen and other great skaters a day after my knee surgery. I wasn't gonna miss it for the world. There was a hurricane/tropical storm that hit us the day we got there. My mom totally freaked that I was going, but I went anyways.

I can promise it will not be in the middle of the night. More like mid afternoon if I get lucky like last time. Probably cause they are much smaller and are used to it. I on the otherhand believe in not bending my knees, jumping less than a 1/2 foot high and that makes me not (in my mind fall), which is totally the opposite of what keeps you from falling. My neighbor across from me opened her door the same time I was trying to get Josef inside and Josef tried to get in and snap at the dog. This dog barks at him non stop from the balcony when we are outside, so I guess he thought it was time to get him. I felt so bad, but again she didn't have hold of the leash. Good thing she slammed the door on his face. I'm about to get in the tub and call it a night. Sleep well and kiss Zoe for me and one from Josef. The Army seems concerned that there might be a backlash against Muslim soldiers in the US Army because of the terrorist attack.  IMO they do not need to be in our Army.  Period. Our Army officials need to worry about attacks by Muslims, not attacks on them. When have we ever attacked the Muslims in our country?  When have they attacked us?  Anyone keeping score?

I also liked the idea that we should bring our soldiers home from the sewers of tribal warfare.  For Obama to leave them there without reinforcements is to condemn them to death, one by one. Our war is here in our own country.  Isn't the National guard supposed to guard the nation? The war is on our own shores.

Imagine walking down a street and coming across a piano that has a sign, 'Play me, I'm yours!'
 
This summer you could sit and play at various locations in London where 30 pianos were found in skate parks, launderettes, train stations and other public spaces. ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ is the inspiration of artist Luke Jerram, presented as part of the London Festival and Sing London. The pianos became a spontaneous expression for everyone’s creativity and a catalyst to connect with strangers through the power of music.
 
The project has been rolled out in many other cities across the world, including Sydney and Sao Paulo. One of Luke's earlier projects that didn't get off the ground was the launch of the Sky Orchestra – a hot air balloon that would fly at dawn over the city of Birmingham broadcasting classical music.
Since the pianos appeared, thousands of passers-by have been given an impromptu invitation to perform. The instruments have become a playful reflection of the communities in which they are embedded. “You have no idea the positive impact it has been causing in our community,” exclaims Fabiana from Sao Paulo. “It amazes me... the power of the instrument, the magnetism it generates among people. Those beautiful pianos are self-esteem boosters for the everyday worker who doesn’t have access to this kind of stuff.”
 
It was estimated that around 250,000 people in London either played with or listened to others playing on the pianos. “The response has been amazing,” Luke said. “I even saw a woman in her wedding dress playing on Millennium Bridge!”
Luke tracked each instrument’s journey through the Street Piano website, created so that the public could post comments and describe their experience. “Next stop will be Bristol in September and we also have future projects in New York, San Jose and Columbia,” he announced. “By the end of the year, I will have installed 130 pianos around the world!”
 
When the piano lids go down for the last time, each instrument is given a new home in local schools and community centers.

KILLEEN, Texas —  The Army psychiatrist authorities say killed 13 people and wounded 29 others at the Fort Hood Army Base Thursday was a recent and frequent customer at a local strip club, employees of the club told FoxNews.com exclusively.

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan came into the Starz strip club not far from the base at least three times in the past month, the club's general manager, Matthew Jones, told FoxNews.com. Army investigators building their case against Hasan plan to interview Jones soon.

"The last time he was here, I remember checking his military ID at the door, and he paid his $15 cover and stayed for six or seven hours," Jones, 37, said.

Hasan's presence at the club paints a starkly different portrait of the alleged killer from that offered by his imam and family members, who have described him as a devout Muslim, and one who had difficulty finding a wife who would wear a head scarf and would pray five times a day.

Starz is a strip club located just down the road from the main gate entrance to the Fort Hood Base. It does not serve alcohol, but customers bring their own beer and liquor and buy ice buckets and mixers at the club.

Hasan sat at a table in the back corner of the club, to the left of the stage on which strippers dance around a pole, employees said.

Jennifer Jenner, who works at Starz using the stage name Paige, said Hasan bought a lap dance from her two nights in a row. She said he paid $50 for a dance lasting three songs in one of the club's private rooms on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30.

"I remembered his face because it was the first lap dance I [gave] to a customer while working here," she said. "When I saw his face [Friday] on TV, I jumped out of bed, I knew it was him."

Jenner, 31, said Hasan was dressed casually both nights he came to the club - in jeans and a T-shirt the first night and then wearing a baseball cap the next. She recalled that he arrived at about 6:30 p.m. and stayed until 2 a.m. She said he brought in a six pack of light beer, took only a few sips from one can and gave the rest to the strippers.

"He preferred the blondes," said Jenner, whose hair was dyed blond at the time. "He said he was a medic and that he was being deployed soon, but mostly he wanted to ask us questions."

"He asked us why we were working at the strip club, if we liked the lifestyle, if we had any kids," she said. "It was right before Halloween so he asked what our kids were dressing up as. He just wanted to know a lot about us."

Jenner said she asked Hasan why he liked coming to Starz instead of another of the roughly half a dozen other clubs nearby, all about an 8-minute drive from the Army base.

"I like it here because no one I work with is here," she said Hasan replied.

Starz is smaller than most of the other clubs, has only about 10 dancers and caters to a louder crowd. Jenner said Army medics generally don't hang out at the club.

"He wasnt too loud like some of our other customers, or sleazy. He didn't try to take any of us home and he was respectful," she said. "I think he mostly came here to kill some time and just relax. He stood out here because he was much more reserved than our other customers.

"I just can't believe that he's the one who killed all those people. You know, he tipped every girl as she came off the stage after her dance. He was a really good tipper."

Hey Baby. It is the Religion of PIECES, not peace. Yeah the part about Patton recruiting Nazis, German Americans killed Germans in WWII, Japanese Americans killed Japanese in WWII. But the thing about these soldiers was they were AMERICAN first and foremost. They werent like mr hasan has said muslim first and American second.

There was a retired Lt Col on Fox, who said our bases are set up for attacks such as this. The only people allowed to carry a side arm are Military Police and the civilian police for the base.  I wish I had his whole story and was able to post it. Something's got to change, bigtime.

Thanks to our “embedded Texas patriot” in D.C., Anita Ross, the White House agreed to lower their flags to half-mast in honor of the Ft. Hood massacre.

FYI…the White House/staff had no intention of lowering the flags…in fact, early Friday AM after the “closet Muslim terrorist” had finished his “atrocity against Army” warriors, the flags were raised to “full staff.”

Incensed and incredulous at the POTUS and his staff/subordinates’ complete disregard and disrespect for the dead, dying, and wounded in Texas…flying the Flag at “full staff” in D.C. was unacceptable to Anita Ross…a Patriot from Texas A & M and the mother of a Marine currently serving in Afganistan.

Anita burned up the phone lines in D.C. and in Texas…Congressmen/women…Governor Perry’s office…White House…all heard from her as she “assaulted the arrogance” of the clueless bureaucrats who mostly despise our military…demanding that honor be shown by lowering the flags.

She was stonewalled, ignored, shunned…everywhere but in Texas.

When it became obvious that the Liar-in-Chief and his team were completely ignorant, insensitive and insipid toward the “atrocity” (not “tragedy”) at Ft. Hood…

I would tell a story but I'm tired.  Golfing Saturday -worst score ever and lost $21.  Then I had a 16 week old beagle to babysit for the night through Sunday afternoon.  And just got out of a 1 1/2 hour meeting, so I'm bored and tired.  Somebody TELL ME A STORY!

Hasan told several people in DC that Americans should be beheaded with rusty knives.  I'm glad he's alive too, and I hope they waterboard him as soon as possible and get to the bottom of who his confederates are and who he has been in contact with.  I think they usually have moral support for their cowardly schemes from others of their ilk.

But I think Obama and his minions, not to mention those in the Army hierarchy who are so worried about Muslims in the Army are probably sorry he survived to tell the tale.  IMO it will shine the spotlight on those who ignore warnings of who these people are, something they have missed and don't want known.  Or don't care.

Obama was quick to say that the police in Cambridge acted "Stupidly" while admitting he didn't have all the facts.  But we must not jump to conclusions, here.  There is only one possible conclusion.  This guy committed Jihad and everyone knows it.  Few will admit it.  Not PC. So sorry.

Here is a funny story I read a long time ago. I will post the link where I read it and still copy and paste what the story says. I think this was posted when the Motoons were being published and the muslims were pizzed and burning things (what they do best) It's about the Russian cossacks whooping up on the Turkish army and the letter the turks sent to the cossacks and the cossacks reply. I am not sorry that he is awake AND IS ABLE TO TALK. I'm a big proponent of the legal system, and very pro-military. One of my profs from last summer is going to Ft. Hood...as soon as I heard about Fr. Hood I sent her a note offering her (and them) prayers. She wrote back, asking how I knew she was going there before she knew, I told her it's cos I know she's JUST THAT GOOD!

anywho, the reason I'm glad this muslim bastard™ (no caps, not important enough for caps) is alive...so we can kill him. Sorry, but I am not so forgiving. Every muslim that I know and come in contact with, I am going to ask how they feel about what happened in Ft Hood. If I don't get the right answer they will be on my chit list. I'll start with my local convenience store owner whom I talk with fairly often and will continue on with the women in Kroger who comes with their children. I will stop the neighbor man who exercises every day in front of my house walking past. I will speak to everyone of them I see. I want to know who I am living amidst. If they avert their eyes from me, that will be my answer.

My flag is flying out front every day, just as I said it would. It will be there in the rain, in the snow, in the fog, in the ice, whatever. I bought a spotlight for it to be proper. Fanny, our flag has been up since Christmas. We have 2 back up ones, and hubby bought a 20 x 40 one (that's feet, not inches!) at an auction. It will go up on the house before Christmas, and be lit by white Christmas lights until they burn out. Then, I'll replace the lights. On 9-11, I went to JoAnn's and bought a roll of 3 inch wide black ribbon and hung it with our flag, as it's just on a little pole and not able to go to half-staff. (Educational note:  flags go to half-mast are on ships, half-staff is for land).

I know it was a horrible time for you. My sister used to live in Silver Springs and Annandale, Va and I used to visit quite a bit. I was very familiar with the area, and I know you all must have just been terrified. No one knew what would happen next, and it was one of the times that the TV stayed on all the time for us. I am glad he is going down. I hope the Virginia Governor doesn't give him a reprieve. I don't trust the O administration to put pressure on him.
