San, thank you!  Those are beautiful.  NY is the most exciting city in the whole world and they do know how to do Christmas!  One question--did you see the windows at Macy's?  Are they as stupendous as the show on H & G showed them?

My honeymoon (eons ago) was in NYC, between 2 blizzards - it was awesome. All traffic had been stopped except for emergency & necessary vehicles. People were walking in the streets, building amazing snowmen in intersections and other unheard of places. Of course it was far quieter than the city usually is. The decorations were beautiful. Aside from the whole honeymoon thing, it was really an enchanted place.

Thanks so much, San!

My favorite time of the year in the city -- but we were unable to take it in first hand this year.

So you just brought it to me. What a wonderful surprise gift :D

Merry Christmas!

Wow, San!  I found out my daughter won't be able to come home for Christmas and was thinking about going up to visit them, but hate to drive.   NOW, I just HAVE to go and make it to the city!  Your pics. are beautiful.  I even considered Times Square on New years eve.  But not sure I can take the chaos and crowds.  Would love to say I did it at least once in my life!    We'll see....

BTW,  looking at the NBC blg.  I have to tell you, my daughters FIL is retired from NBC, but still does some consulting work.  Last summer he took us on a personal tour and we got to see much more behind the scenes than the 'normal tour'.  Wow it was so interesting, getting to be on the news and SNL sets.  I can't believe how small SNL is!  I have pics of us right on the sets after hours, and even a few famous Dressing rooms. His job is really interesting, he does technical work with lighting and stuff....

Dihannah hopefully you can make it up to visit your daughter.  City is pretty at this time of year.

As far as going to Time Square on New Years Eve that is something I never did and I don't plan on doing  .

San, thanks for posting these gorgeous pix. I was in the city during Christmastime several years ago and it was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Saw the Rockettes perform at Radio City Music Hall and heard some carrollers in Grand Central Station that were outstanding...While listening to one of the soloists I actually had tears in my eyes...I will never forget my one and only time in NYC as one of the most enchanting times I've ever had, and hope take my daughter up there for Christmas sometime...Thanks again!

You're welcome Frijole, Peaches, Mishy, Florida and Sleuth.  I'm glad everyone enjoyed them.

Sleuth that's not a bad idea about who is next to take pictures.  Make sure you don't get too close to the alligators when you are feeding them the marshmallows and trying to take their picture.

To Florida ....

Eclipse
(Waters) 2:04

All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal.
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.
All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

"There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark."

Hi gang!  I have to say, I just returned from NY visiting my daughter and we went to the city on New years eve eve (saturday, 12/30) and saw all the sites in San's pics.  These places are absolutely beautiful and though her pics are much better than mine (I won't even bother posting them), nothing does the sights justice without seeing them in person!  The church is just mezmerizing and the spirit of the city is wonderful.  San you did a great job with your pictures and I recommend anybody to visit just once!

Happy New Years Monkey Friends!

Louise:  Have you viewed the You Tube videos of the Wizard of Oz clips set to Pink Floyd's music?  Eerie.
