AAAAAAANNNNNNNDDD another thing... This forum/site has never subscribed to one single theory. We have looked at every possible theory anyone could possibly think of. The snuff film theory was discussed at length many months ago and has just now come up again. I dare say that almost everyone here does not have one single theory as to what happened that night. To say that this forum/site leans toward any one particular theory is just silly to me as someone who has been here from day one and has gone through all 1,824 different scenerios!

It would seem so obvious, especially with all the trouble folks with dialup have getting the scaredmonkeys radio to work, and that's just audio.

Robots  OT thought of you a few hours ago. Was eating some "delivery" food from a place I'd never order from before. I was cold and hungry at the time. Well, finished eating it today and it sure told me who was boss.

You've so aggravated me with this ridiculous never-ending "say it ain't so" that I just transmitted a 3 minute video clip to my son two states away, within 3 minutes & 46 seconds from cell phone to cell phone. He has a razr and I used my treo to originate the transmission, which is a 650 and nearly two years old  :shock:

Granted a treo is likely a more expensive phone but that is due to the palm capabilities and not the video.

Aruba has been wireless far longer than your neck of the woods or mine as well. They might not have uploaded a video which you or I cannot know for certain, but don't say it ain't so until you've done your homework.

Given that the perps intended to start out the evening to film a porn video, do you really think they planned to just film with a cell phone camera at a cell phone camera's meager resolution?

Ok if the cell phone was the instrument to be used, how did Freddy figure into any of the production? I though he was a semi pro at this kind of thing. Why just a cell phone?

Anyhow how did this cell phone video recording occur?

Was this a continuous streaming video broadcast from the cell phone? Which would mean that the activities were occurring as the cell call was made?

Was the activities filmed by the cell phone and stored on the cell phone? All 8mins or so? Can your phone store 8 mins of video? And then transmitted when the call was made?

Do you really think if the perps started out the evening to do a porn video that they would be satisfied with just a cell video?

Again cell phone trans mission is slow, cell memory is limited, therefore cell video's are of very low resolution, which would almost make the effort worthless.

56K dialup audio is difficult and strains a normal dialups capability, sorry but cell transmission of anything video wise ain't gonna be anywhere near good enough for a porn production, unless someone is so hardup they just want to see it on another cell phone.

look I'm with you on the fact that I doubt the 8.5 minute call was a video transmission, but i'm not going to just take a stance and so there aint no way.  It is possible.

You do not know what you are talking about when it come to transfer rates.  I know it and you know it, you may be able to fool a few of the less technical people around here, but not me.  I create data servers and toss data back and forth all the time.  I pass data back and forth to programs I have created in several different languages including Labview, C++ .NET, Statemate, Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, CANoe, Java, GL Studio and on many different types of hardware.  I create my own protocals, use TCP/IP, Datasocket, UDP, Bluetooth, and many others.  I know how to define, assemble and disassemble data packets, I know how to stream data.  I know several different strategies for recreating dropped packets and fragmented packets.  I understand data compression and sometimes use my own compression techniques.  I also understand data encryption technologies and apply them to my work when needed. I can stream data to different devices as well, including using cellular technology to transfer data to and from vehicles in the field.  I create very sophisticated computer simulations for a living and I am telling you that you are out of your league with me. If you want to start another thread to discuss this topic, I will gladly give you an education but please, stop this sillyness in this thread.  It is distracting to the people who are trying to prove/disprove their video theory.

Of course, as my son who is in the business tells me, they were far more advanced in Venezuela in their technology transmissions than the USA at the time secondary to Bell South having to furnish land lines for all the "wire" people and copper . . . . and that was not a requirement in SA or Venezuela, that they were just able to jump right into advanced technology, so they were ahead of us probably by years at the time this occurred, but not light years.

I am hoping we get a good report on Justin's Mama's mamma.  If you are here, my brother had this same operation due to a ruptured diverticulum a few years ago (about 6).  He had the same issues with breathing that your mother is having.   Once he came to live with me, he mended very quickly and was planting a garden by spring.  Incidentally, his occurred on 18 December.  I remember the date well as my husband had a heart attack around the following day, so I had two patients to care for hundreds of miles apart.

I am concerned about Sunfreak as she had a Pseudomonas infection.  Pseudomonas aeruginosa is not something to be taken lightly.  I am somewhat concerned about her welfare.

We had a nice funeral day.  It was such a nice funeral.  I have never attended one like it.  It was a celebration of his life and all the fun and funny things and anecdotes about his life and his children and the jokes he played on his wife and those the kids played on him and their very great relationship.  Hardly any mention of this old Marine's courage, and who would have know this gentle kind man was once a Marine, except for the flag draped over his casket at the end.  The stories were numerous of the fun times and great trips, and the funeral ended on a video of his life from grammar school throughout his life with his children and his recent grandchildren and at the end, the three little grandchildren opened the gifts he had bought them for Christmas and had already wrapped.

your question doesnt quite make sense ", how much of a video is gonna be transmitted over a cell phone in 8 1/2 mins?"  But what I think you are trying to ask is, in 8.5 minutes, how long of a video (as in playback time) can be transferred on a cell phone.  The answer really depends on the resolution of the video, the compression and the framerate.  Sure, if you are using MPEG4 format and have an high resolution of 1600x1024 and are shooting for a framerate of over 60 frames per second, you are not going to get a very long video in 8.5 minutes.  I do not know the resolution, data format and recording framerate of most cell phones but I I can safley say that 8.5 minutes can easily transfer a 8.5 minute video at an average upload speed of 800kbs - technology that was available at the time.  Do we even know if this was a cell phone or a cellular card for a laptop, if it was a card in a laptop, the transfer rate could be even higher.

Morning, Kimmy, thank you for the kind wishes.  As noted above, we had a very nice funeral, something unusual for a funeral, but it was a fun celebration of his life.  I have never attended a funeral where there were so many happy memories and so much laughing during the ceremony.

Frijole, we always give the nursing home residents lotions, soaps (thare not so drying, i.e, Dove) and some books with very large print.  Some of them still enjoy reading but have difficulty seeing. They can all use hand lotions (but no fragrance as some have asthma) and their own personal Dove soaps for bathing as their skin tends to be quite dry and institutional soap is horribly drying.

I just downloaded your 1st video to my desktop in less than 1 second, average transfer rate was 5.2 Mbps which is roughly 7 times faster than the cell technology at the time.  The file size on disk is 5.21 megabytes and playback time is 2 minutes and 2 seconds.  So to keep it simple, lets say the technology back then was 10 times slower instead of 7 times slower.  It would have taken me 10 seconds to download a 2 minutes video, thats about 12 minutes of video per minute or 96 minutes of video in 8 minutes, in the same framerate and resolution as the one on your website.

I know there has been a lot of discussion regarding how they might have transferred a video.  I'm convinced there is a video of what happened and Freddy was involved.  How they transferred the video I don't know but there is definitely a video.  Why are they delivering the "camera" to Freddy. I think Deepak was the one who transferred the video via his computer.  Is it possible that Joran was sent the video also and was trying to view it from his computer.  These computer records were tampered with by the ALE.  Just like the cell phone records they were also tampered with.  JMO.

Why the hell would Deepak bring John Charles Croes into the picture for an alibi.  Is this person that stupid that he would tell Deepak sure you can use me for your alibi :shock: .  The next time Deepak tried to use someone as his alibi was a girl he knew and that girl wanted no involvement and she even went to the police or the FBI to tell them.

Who would be shooting the video if Joran was alone in his apt. with Natalee and the Kalpoe's were at their house?  It makes more sense that J2K and Natalee were at the VDS cabana with Freddy's camera (and maybe Freddy) and one of the Kalpoe brothers manned the camera while Joran (and maybe Freddy) participated.  Since, Deepak was the computer genius of the bunch, he would have been the one to take the video tape home to transfer on to his computer (with or without Freddy's camera).  Deepak was on the chatline with JC Croes at 3:30 Monday morning and he admitted that he said to Croes that "the girl put her hands down my pants".  A statement like that doesn't pop up out of nowhere.  It had only been 3 hours since he had arrived at C&C's and saw Natalee for the first time and that 3 hour period must have been the subject of the chat.  Maybe, Deepak had the TV on so he could watch the tape on a bigger screen.  Maybe Deepak sent the video back to Joran, the Top Pimp, in the early morning hours.

I tend to agree with you, I dont think there was a video that night either.  But nothing would surprise me from Aruba and I am not going to just dismiss the possibility.  These guys did surround themselves with the stuff.

In my world the best you can get up to in cell is CDMA3 at up to 385kbps, even with a laptop the cell card transmits at the same speed and standard CDMA is only 14.4kbps.

I'm not talking about 802.11 1/2 Mbps or 802.11g 25/54 Mbps WiFi speeds.

The example I provided was a very low quality 2min video that has a file size of 5.46 MB in MPEG compression.

So how many MB's could be transmitted over a up to 14.4kbps in a standard CDMA cell phone transmission? And how often have you had a perfect cell connection?

Sure a lot of people on here getting their MBps and Mbps mixed up along with their cell and WiFi connections.

Blah:  I said that I do not think there was a cell phone porn video made but it is highly likely that Freddy's camera was used that night to make a regular video.  If we knew anything more about this JC Croes -things might start to make sense.  What does he do for a living?  Does he have a criminal record?  Is he related to someone with influence that could keep his name out of the news?  
Whether there was a video made that night or not; JC Croes got the first version of events from Deepak before that information had to be hushed up.  Deepak wasn't messing up any investigation, at the point.

Ahah, that's it, in your world cell transmission speed is a heck of a lot faster than cell transmission speed in my world.

In my example I used a data rate that was 2 years older than the technology that was available at the time in order to give you the benefit of the doubt.  In your world, you claimed 385kbps or something very close to that.  This still translates to over a 30 minutes video.  So please stop spouting off that it is not possible.  I think what you are having a hard time with is the difference between uploading/downloading data and video streaming, which obviously is a lot slower do to the encoding/decoding on the fly.

I can understand that you have a very hard time admitting that you are wrong but like I said earlier, at least put the shovel down and quit digging.  I am finished with this silly conversation.

He says THE camera and again later THE camera.  Not we were going to Freddy's to return a camera.....  It sounds as if this camera was mentioned in the Q&A but didn't make it into the statement.  Maybe it's the translation.   :?  I'm just saying that this is worded in a way that makes it sound like the topic has come up before and the officers know more about a camera than is explained in the signed statement.  

Aside from the fact that the cell phone video debate has been going on since page 30 something in the last thread and getting nowhere, I'd like to suggest that it doesn't make a lot of sense to think a film was sent via cell phones that evening.  When would this have occurred?  First, they're with Natalee, they panic because she stays unconscious, the gardener sees them around 2:30 or 3:00 (I've heard both times; don't know which it is), Deepak or Satish or both are home to get into chat with John CC around 3:00.  In the overall scheme of the 2 or 3 hours after they left C&C's, when would this occur?  If there was a video taken, if they did panic, did they simply send this video via cell phone while trying to figure out what to do with Natalee?  I can see Deepak or Satish sending a video to JCC not knowing that Natalee didn't wake up, but not after they knew she didn't wake up.  It seems the time frame of the call was after "something bad happened."  This debate started because Deepak says he wasn't chatting with JCC the whole time, he was watching TV, but he knows that JCC was online the whole time.  This sounds like something was being downloaded.  Then again, Deepak says it was around 2:35 until around 3:15 or 3:30 doesn't he?  Why would it take half an hour to an hour to do this?  Based on what we know, it's not adding up.

Before heading out into the big city jungle, I'll add that I think they panicked and Satish went home, went into chat with JCC to try to make it look like Deepak was home, but didn't chat so as not to give away the fact that he wasn't Deepak.  Makes more sense to me.  If a video was taken, it was probably in Freddy's camera and may never have been downloaded because "something bad happened".

It has been a ridiculous endless debate and I don't think many of our posters much look much at Youtube or they would see the copious amounts of grainy cell phone video that's uploaded daily. Do any of you remember the London train bombing? Some of the only video available was from cell phones as well.

Each to their own but there is benefit in living with tech savvy teens who use their cell phones for everything but washing their clothes  :lol: trust me, MOST are so savvy it's frightening. Deepak was surely savvy for he worked at and maintained that Internet Cafe too. Every techie in the area likely made contact with him there as well. the data also didn't have to travel far, Aruba isn't nearly as large in distance as the area I covered last night with my transmission to son.

20MB = 160 Mbits

160 Mbits = 160000 Kbits

Year ago CDMA cell transmission would be 14.4kbps. round up to 15kbps.

160000/15 = 10667seconds.

10667/60 = 177.78 minutes

177.78/60 = 2.96 hours.


Ok, current state of the art hi speed CDMA 3 at 384kbps.

160000/384 = 416.67 seconds

416.67/60 = 6.94 minutes.

Now it just might be possible at max rate current CDMA 3 standards,
but I very much doubt the 3 amigos had a CDMA 3 cell phone 2 years ago or that the transmission would have been perfect with no dropouts.

I still stand firm that any cell phone transmission of a porn video was totally unfeasible at that time.

Now again, if you are talking streaming then the porn videoing must have been in progress at the time of the call on record.

Otherwise 20MB of storage would have to have been in the phone for it to store the video to transmit at the call time on record.

As you can see from my example video any porn video that size wouldn't have been all that desirable or useful.

The question of "video or not" is an interesting one.  And there are porponents of the videoed crime and others who disagree, and still others who are neutral.  As blah suggested in an earlier post, it would be likely wrong to ignore the overwhelming references to filmic/visual pornography which animates the environments and lifestyles of the main suspects and their pimp friends.  Their lives literally drip with it: there's porn playing on 2 dvd screens in the Bailey Anne sequence, there's porn playing in the car when Natalee is in it per deepak's statement, there's the pornographic video which caused Freddie's arrest and questioning, there's the pda in Holland as gift from Paulus to joran loaded w/ porn and porn played for the NE reporter by joran, and among the very first news reports about the case immediately after Natalee went missing by Geraldo Rivera when he reported that 3 were involved made sex videos, and on, and on, and on.

The suspects are, I'd guess, far younger than the majority of the posters here.  We've all read the reports how technology animates the lives of young people today, and the pimps are no different in this regard.

I thought I'd reprise an excerpt from a post by our old friend Dutchlady.  She provided an intersting perspective on whether there was video or not:

Personally, I agree that if they were planning to make a video, they wouldn't plan to do it with a cellphone. They would want better quality if it were something they wanted to make money from. I'm not saying there wasn't a video - just that a planned one would probably have been filmed differently. My best guess is that the 8.5 minute cell phone call was probably someone saying the equivalent of "Oh crap - she's not breathing - what do we do now?"

Now, this Shangohead is going to weigh in on the cell transmission.  I know absolutely nothing about techie stuff, just ask Nonesy, she will tell you I am a complete moron on those things, but I won't discount the possibility that it can be done.  My own daughter sends me things all the time with her phone.  The only thing is that she is transmitting from her phone to my computer.  Would that  make any difference?  I have seen one of her friends send her a short video from their camera, the digital kind that makes a video as well as a single photo, to her phone before.  I saw that with my own eyes and was impressed with the quality.  

I tend to think along the lines that the porn video, should there be one in existance, would have been transmitted from Freddy's video equipment first to a computer.  I think you would run the risk of losing the call if you relied on a cell phone.  I know I have sent photos to people from mine and right in the middle of doing so, my cell phone lost the call.  My bet, if there was a video, would be that Freddy was more involved in the transmission of it from his camera than a cell phone. Then again it's JMO.

How does one get labeled the king of bling bling when one doesn't have a job?  The Kalpoe brothers and Joran are into some heavy stuff.  Most of the time when I hear the word "BLING" it is used when rappers refer to their jewelry (example: He got some nice bling bling going on there).  Other times we have seen gangs and drug dealers reference the word.  Yes we have seen some movie stars reference that term also.  Of all three I just mentioned Joran and the Kalpoes fit under the term gang and drug dealers.

They are not normal and they are cold blooded killers.  When I hear the Kalpoes use the term “they will see that shit” I believe Natalee was given her injuries by the hands of Joran.  The Kalpoes know they are being taped when they were in the police van so they aren’t going to say exactly what happened but they said it in a way where we know Joran did something bad.

ITA.  Given Freddy's involvement in some way and the mention of a camera being returned, I don't think a cell phone was involved in any filming that took place.  While all the tech stuff boggles this mind, I understand and concur with the Dutch lady.  Rape is a control thing.  It may turn some sicko on, but it is about control.  Many studies have been done to show that people will inflict harm on others who are smaller, weaker, or otherwise unable to fight back or escape, and in doing so will feel a sense of power, control and superiority.  This is why animal cruelty is often a precursor to abusive or violent behavior towards humans.  Also, those who have been abused often become the abusers later in life.  I have not seen any videos on bangbus and haven't gone to the other sites, but I've seen the pictures.  Not Hollywood, but not cell phone stuff.  The people seem sleazy.  Street sex; back alley sex.  Not Playboy or Penthouse or anything professional even in the porn category.  I'm not an expert on porn but I've seen some.  Given that these are favorites of these guys and other things we know about them, I don't doubt they'd want to film it, replay it, submit it.  It's a badge of honor among these sick young men.  I won't call them animals because animals don't do such things as far as I know.

Or maybe she received injuries at the "feet" and "hands" of Joran, the reason those illusive shoes can never be found.

In one of the police statements they are asking Joran about how strong he is and he answers that Deepak is weak and Koen is his equal in regards to strength.  Why would you even have to bring something like that up while being interrogated?  There is a reason for them asking those questions.

Could very well be, Tyler. I've thought about the possibilities, and that statement could mean a lot of things. I'm sure that it doesn't just refer to a shoe, but the marks of one on her is possible. Could be a fisherman's cage, could be a shoe stuck in fresh concrete weighing her down, could be injuries sustained from being hit with a car, could be torture marks. I don't know.

Actually, that statement by Joran says more than just the 3 know she's dead. It's an admission that they know her state of being as she was desposed. "They'll see that shit". It required no further explanation for all three to know what was being referenced.
The ONLY thing that is left thinly unproven by that one statement, is if they were the ones who actually killed her. It's highly probable, but not revealed with certainty. Again, these things come out with Joran's statement:
1. They all know she's dead
2. They know what state she would be found in if discovered. Could be what is with the body, or the state of the body.

Yes, I have thoughts. I have the thought that Joran went to Paulus when things "went bad", thus involving him.

At this point, it would appear that someone did this because of Beth and Greta and Nancy and Phil.  I might feel similarly if more incriminating information came out proving that not only are these 3 guys guilty as hell, but many on that island covered it up and rationalized it away by slandering Natalee and Beth and Americans in general.

So Deepak is appalled that Joran would contact his father and put Paulus in that position.  This comment by Deepak makes me think Paulus was NOT involved until after the fact.

I firmly believe Paulus knows exactly what happened to Natalee because he arranged for her disposal.  I am just not sure if Natalee was dead when he came on to the scene and he made the final decison to kill her instead of getting her help.  You don't charge someone with premeditated murder unless you know what he did.  Remember Paulus comments in a police station when referring to finding Natalee "good luck with that".  Paulus is sick in the head.

If I was with someone who was drunk, drugged or passed out, I would panic.  I would also call 911 without giving it a lot of thought.  I would not think to call a friend or parent and ask what to do.  I would have taken the person to a hospital.  Now I'm much older than Joran and the Kalpoes, but I think it would have been a no-brainer when I was 17 or 21 also.

I hate to admit it but I have two Bunns, two Mr. Coffee's, one regular Cusinart, Coffee-on-Demand, a termal press, a glass vacumm expresso maker, and the stainless steel expresso maker.  Coffee bar here also.  With our upgrade, I had a pot filler put in at my coffee bar.  Tell me I am not spoiled when it comes to coffee.

I agree.  Your first reaction would be to seek medical help.  But Aruba is trying to push the excuse that they panicked and they decided to bury her.  They weren't thinking clearly because after all they were boys and they were afraid.  They weren't afraid when they decided to kidnap and rape Natalee.

I agree with the comments. As easy as it can be to throw Paulus in from the beginning, I think there is more hard evidence that Paulus entered the murder crime scene after "something went bad". Whether Natalee was "allowed" to die after being harmed, or was already dead, I don't know. I do think that whatever happened, Joran was scared enough to go to Daddy. And I fully believe that from that point, Paulus did all he could to protect Joran.

I think Paulus is capable of protecting Joran to Natalee's death. If there was evidence she had been drugged, or raped, or hit with a car trying to escape, or if she were cognisent enough to cling to Paulus after Joran brought him in, suffering from what had been done to her, then I think Paulus' choices were all made to protect Joran.

IMO, the car conversation is unique to anything we know they said; even the interrogation statements. It's obvious from the night Nat went missing that the boys were aware of at least the possibility that there communications might be of interest to authorities. Tyler, DK seems to be blaming Joran with Paulus' arrest. I'm concluding that Joran was responsible for Paulus' involvement around Nat's death, whether that be burial, disposition, or allowing her to die. I'm concluding that Joran went to Paulus for help because he was scared. Maybe she was dying, maybe she had died and was clumsily buried, I don't know. But I firmly believe that Paulus took charge to protect Joran at whatever point he became aware that there was evidence to harm Joran. Thus, he became involved in a murder. Whatever else Paulus was guilty of, up to that point, I believe Joran involved him in murder out of fear. That's what I think DKs comments referred to.

I think the point to take from this is that perhaps wireless technology is beyond what you might interpret it to be. I do have a whitepaper from IBM back in 2000, wherein they detail some of these points for they had projected GM could make more from online transactions done from cars, than on new car sales? At that point GM began investing in wireless technologies to the point they acquired a few start-up's. That's an area blah has worked within too, the capabilities are far beyond what we baby boomers currently utilize.

How long has it been "missing"?  They can track by computer the last place it was handled, and who's truck or whatever it was last on.  You said they don't have hope in finding it.  Why not?  And if not, how quickly can the claim be filed.  Whomever shipped it has to file the claim, I am pretty sure.  Not the receipient.

Lenovo shipped two boxes - the computer and the case. The case was delivered, then UPS tried to tell us that's all that was shipped. Lenovo is saying the computer was shipped with the case. Lenovo says they will keep searching for 7 more days, then give us credit and re-ship the computer if it isn't found. If someone at UPS took it, then they'll end up with a free computer I guess. :evil:

I can top that one!  UPS lost a certified cheque for $65,000.00 US that we sent to the US to pay for a firetruck.  They found it under a conveyer belt in their sorting plant 4 months later.  Now it is wire transfers only!

OMG! I can believe that, though. The people from UPS we've dealt with so far have not been impressive, to say the least.

Hmmm.  Sounds like somebody somewhere is trying to pull a fast one.  If two boxes were shipped, that should be noted on a shipping document.  And there should be a list of contents.  This company is going to continue looking for it for 7 days?  When it sounds like there is a dispute in the first place in what was actually shipped?  And you may end up with a credit?  And how long does it take for the credit to go on your card?  It can take up to 30 days...Bah humbug.  

And UPS should have documents that show everything.  I am sorry to say they lost completely a letter package about a month ago.  Just gone.  Zip.  And last year, my son ordered some parts for a rifle he uses for skeet shooting.  The UPS people left it on the doorstep of the office of an apartment complex (400 apts.), instead of delivering it to his door.  Lovely...I used to try to use UPS, but lately not good luck.  Sister also had documents lost that pertained to land sale.  Caused a huge problem.  The documents turned up a couple weeks late--r.

It's possible that Joran took Natalee for Paulus, but Deepak seems to think that Joran did something to get his father in trouble, whereas Joran claims the Kalpoes got his dad arrested.  Which makes me think that Deepak wasn't there when something bad happened OR Paulus wasn't involved until later.  

A.  Joran could have been "pimping" for Paulus.  Many believe this; I've never been convinced, but don't deny the possibility.  
B.  We could get Freudian and say that Joran decided he wanted Natalee when he saw Paulus talking with her.  
C.  Another theory I've suggested is that Joran had a run-in with some of the MB boys, GVC had a run-in with some of the MB boys (involving Natalee) and Joran wanted to show them arrogant Americans a thing or two and did it with GHB and Natalee.  A sociopath in particular might respond that way, me thinks.  
D.  Another "trigger" could be Joran seeing his old flame with another guy and transferring his hurt and anger to Natalee.  


I don't know how long it would take for these three guys to realize that someone wasn't breathing anymore.   I wonder if they've ever learned CPR.   :cry:  Perhaps the Dutch are saying the boys panicked when Natalee remained unconscious because they plan to say it was an accidental death and their only crime was panicking and disposing of the body.   :evil:  (If this is true, I imagine monkeys declaring war.  The word Missile comes to my mind.)  I not only think Natalee was raped by these 3, but I think that Joran hit her.  That plus alcohol plus date-rape drug = Disappeared.  Whatever happened, I hope that the GHB or whatever she was given left her mostly unconscious.   :cry: No one should be subjected to such an act and no one should get away with doing such a thing.

Don't know if this will help but I had a similiar experience with FedEx & my box had lodged itself behind a box inside the truck, which is why the driver missed it when he pulled my 1st box.  When they tracked it they found the box on the truck.  Same time of year also.  Good luck.

Monkeys~ Mom remains in critical condition. She now has an infection on top of the difficulty with her blood pressure. She was moaning this morning and with it at all. Very hard to see her this way. They gave her a bed that wriggles under her (I used to know the name for that type of bed...), and she seems more peaceful now.

BT, I had a Christmas package a few years ago, I think in 1999, that was missing package #2.  It was similar to what you describe.  We did get it eventually.  Someone had copied the zip code onto both packages, but transposed the one on package #2 which was to a different city entirely, but it was finally tracked down and was fine.  I do hope you will get yours very soon.  

Just be optimistic!!!!!  It's Christmas and I know how disappointing it is, but all will be well that ends well.  Hug the little BT and give DH mistletoe kisses and all will be well in BT'ville.

Anna:  An idea for you - gift bags from the dollar store!  Just pop the gift in and presto - you are done (except for writing the name on the card). It is like giving someone 2 gifts!

Also very cute gift boxes at Big Lots.  I bought lots.  They are soooo cute and they are certainly reusable.  Don't write names on these.  You will want to preserve for posterity, but do tie a piece of yarn around them and pop the name on that.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers, and of course, your mom.  I hope this has a wonderful outcome.

And I just happen to have several of those, good thing.  Just can't get motivated and going.  Must be the lack of early morning coffee.

Every year someone will do that at least twice and at least twice we will all run to see the snow.

Tyler~ I hope it has a wonderful outcome, too. A few years back, my uncle was in really bad shape. My cousin and I thought for sure that he would die. He pulled through, though. I think that he is too grouchy to die.

I went to work today and popped in to see her this morning. Justin and I are going to see her after our dinner. He will be going to his father's for the weekend, and I will then take up the overnight vigil. My sister has been doing it since Tuesday. She had come in from PA. My earlier post was not typed correctly- it was supposed to be she is NOT too with it.

Hugs, Justins, hope everything works out.  This is very difficult, I know.  Hang in there, and try to take care of yourself as well.

All of your family is in our prayers!  Sometimes folks move around a lot after surgery because their body is fighting off the effects of the anesthesia, still waking up, etc.  Can be a sign of strength.

Justinsmama, you might get some comfort by bringing with you a soothing book to read, that has given you pleasure previously, & read aloud to yourself & your Mom.  That is what I would have to do, am feeling for you & her in this situation, it may help you as I think it would me.  

Have any of you looked at Carpe's enhanced photo in post Front Page "Kalpoe's ready to crack? " #58?  That photo looks very real to me as I believe it does to Carpe.  Anybody else?  I did post but it instantly looks male to me & I thought of the surfer's that the posters from the Devil's Rock referenced as never being seen after 5/29/05.

My plans, exactly, Tylergal!  I am in a wonderfully festive mood and just not going to spoil it working so hard I am too tired to enjoy Christmas once it actually arrives.  That is what I usually do and it's time for those kids to adjust to the fact that it's Christmas for ME, too.

I just have only done about one third what I normally do as far as cooking, dinner at my Mom's anyway, and decorating.  Also got my hair cut really short and spikey then went back this week and since it is blonde anyway, only took about ten minutes processing to make to like platinum.  Shockingly white, sort of neon looking.  The kids are going to be stunned, tee hee!  But I love it, takes no time to maintain and took years off my appearance.  I think they secretly want me to look sort of mousy and matronly.

So guess I will be the subject of their little behind the scenes discussions.  Usually we have just too much of everything anyway.  No one under twenty any more so all adults and so all can share the drudgery as well as the joy.

Well, I certainly didn't think that they were responsible for Natalee but this makes me think that they may very well have disappeared at the same time & may have shown up here but no mention in the newspapers or anywhere other than FINALLY when somebody admitted to a 7 year unidentified boy from a year ago, but I must say couldn't figure out how they would have been able to ascertain country of origin after a year.

The RCMP has a great history. They also go for two years training in the barracks in Regina. They are better trained than most city policemen these days. They are trying to attract University educated recruits and they really want women to apply. They are also at the present time

Crossing my fingers here, but apparently Mom has been progressing since early afternoon. They are weaning her from the IV med that was to bring up her blood pressure. Guess with the first dose reduction, her bp went up within 5 minutes.  :shock: Makes me wonder if she was having a paradoical effect with that dose or med? Anyhoo, once she is weaned from it and can hold her  bp on her own, they will transfer her to a regular unit. Whoohoo! The nurse she has this evening told us that she had not been there since the night that Mom went into surgery, and she was surprised that she was progressing at this rate. There was a pause between the "surprised that she was" and the "progressing". I suspect what that nurse was really surprised about was that Mom is still alive. But she could not say that to us, if that's what she actually was thinking. When I first got there, my brother said that he was almost afraid to hope, and then he told me about her holding her own for the previous 8 hours. I woke my mother (she was moaning), asked her if she were in pain and she said "no". I told her that she was getting better, and might be on a regular floor by Christmas. When I went in one last time, she smiled a tiny bit when I kissed her cheek. So we've got our fingers crossed while holding them in prayer. All I want for Christmas is for my mother to live and recover.

The case that Mike was speaking of... after the perp murdered his ex girlfriend, he buried her in someone else's grave. And unless the RCMP had done this sting op, no one would have been the wiser.  
Why did he kill Erin ? Because : There had been a restraining order, he went to see her and smacked her around. So, he knew he was going to jail on a. ) a violation and b.) assault. So, he killed her.  
We have a zero tolerance on domestic volence here and in fact, the toughest laws in the country on that sort of thing.

Hmm, I thought his purpose for shooting the videos was to exonerate the 2 security guards. I think he was acting on some kind of tip about a recovery effort, and that was why he was there.
Look closely and you will see the Coroner's Van tucked away besides some brush in one of the videos.

I don't think the purpose was to exonerate the Security Guards.  He DEDICATED the videos to freedom from discrimination but I do not think the purpose was to "prove" anything.  Maybe the one with Mickey Johns in the background might be.

Not sure what the purpose of the rock videos would be but some are purely for use behind their music like the fascinating one about the windsurfer.  That one doesn't seem to have any connection at all to anything other than the beauty of windsurfing with their strange sounding music.

I think the dedication is more a statement of a political or global point of view opposing what was done to the SG, not an attempt to produce evidence about any investigation.

Just my opinion, however, of course. . . . .

Good to hear back about your mother.  Moaning does not always mean pain in a surgical patient but always good to check.  I was told I did some really pitiful moaning after surgery once and scared my family badly but I was not in any pain.  As I posted earlier, it can just be the body fighting off the drugs to put it under conscious level, wanting back up and awake.

Lots of good wishes going your way in this regard!  Hope your shift goes well tonight!

Justins, just read about your mother.  She will be in my prayers.  My dad had almost the exact situation about 10 yrs ago.  The diverticuli apparently ruptured, but they could not locate the bleeder.  They transfused several times to get BP up, but the increased BP made the bleeding start again.  They could not do the test to locate the bleeder due to all the blood in the colon.  He was very near death several times in a week.  They finally removed about half his colon, including all the diverticuli.  Once they stabilized his BP, he improved very quickly, and was back to normal within a month or so.  I hope your mom has the same good result from the surgery.  He has not had any serious after effects in 10 years.

Children today have grown up with videos, cd's, music videos, cell phone cameras and computers.  Everyone wants to be a reality tv star, even if it's only on their own camcorder.

Klaas, I was surprised also, so I made a smart move and gave it to DH for his birthday. Today. I bought him some new jeans the other night but bought them in my size. I am hoping and praying with you. I hope things continue to progress, but don't get discouraged if they don't continue steadily upward. I always say ICU is like a roller coaster ride, and sometimes you might take 2 steps foward and 1 step back but the direction is what counts.

Your Mom is probably on Levophed for BP( though Dobutamine and Dopamine are also used) it is a vasopressor. It maintains the BP so that blood will perfuse the vital organs, and sounds like she is weaning off it well. 48-72 hours after surgey, the body will usually start to mobilize fluids that it has held on to both prior to and during surgey. Have you noticed any puffiness of hands or face? Just as the ankle that breaks...swells, and the body that is burned gets edematous, both are the body's response to "attack" , so surgery is similar. These first 24 hours were critical...hopefully the next 24 will be stabilizing ones.......

My fingers are crossed. The support you and your family are able to give to your Mom are an invaluable medicine....keep up the good work.  :wink:

Still looks like a dog to me, on side or belly complete with tail and a possible leash off to the left.  Appears about one third the size of the adults in the photo which to my thinking is too small for an adult human.

But as we have all discussed before, we all see different things in the videos, like looking at the clouds.  If they were clear and something all could agree upon, they would likely be used as evidence, assuming of course there was actually an investigation.

But I do thank Carpe for bringing the photos forward even if I don't see what he does in them.  Still good to know and see for myself.  I appreciate his hard work in catching the stills and all the work he has done on this.

It is quite scary.  I remember how pale my dad was, and so weak... The only time the bleeding stopped was when his BP dropped so low they could not get readings.   He had 12 pints of blood in two days, but the increase in BP made the bleeding start again.  The doc would not even talk about surgery, because he was so weak.  He finally told them he did not want to bleed to death, just remove it all.  Once they stopped the bleeding and were able to stabilize the BP, however, he really made a rapid recovery.

I can see where it sort of looks like the hind quarters of a dog with a bushy tail.  But it could also be someone laying on their back with baggy knee-length shorts.

You know, that is so true LilPuma.  My own used to do action adventures with their stuffed animals and action figures and even hot wheels.  One did school project in fifth grade with crashing hot wheels, even a fire!!   :shock:

Some of my fam could not believe I just let them play with the camcorder and back then was awkward two piece thing but I did.  I knew they were less likely to actually break it than I was because as you say, they were just born to these things.

We did have some interesting "episodes" of everything from the crashing hot wheels to starwars to a flying pickle and banana they had of long ago.
Very creative at times, too.

That is very true. I have heard about the wind surfing things though and the various editorial, and magazine photo involvement. Much of the other stuff cited does seem to make sense....she has had her hand in the pot stirring since the begining IMO

scuba always claimed to have "long flowing black hair" so I would guess the one with that except she doesn't look as chubby as scuba did.  She was on TV once or twice in the very early days.

Except that I am getting my ID information from MrsJimiHendrix is any of you recall her, and she really seemed to have a pretty good handle on who she was.

Florida, Red also went to Aruba, dug in the dump, shoulder to shoulder with Dave, searching for Natalee.  I'm grateful he did that as it was a way to help.  I'm also grateful you shared your pictures of Aruba with us as it helps those of us who cannot go to Aruba to understand the place.  

However, I have to admit that I find your comment strange and wonder why you felt the need to post this, in bold font, at this time.

Thanks, Klaas.  I will.  I wish someone could mount a sting like the one the RCMP's used to capture their killer.  I might have a penchant for drama, but that was really cool.  They set him up and appealed to his sense of self-importance and his "wanna-be a gangster" aspirations.  I think this would work on the Kalpoes, actually.

Why?  What does the fact you went to Aruba have to do with anything?  It's not as though you found Natalee.   :roll: I for one have absolutely no interest in Lorenzo and have yet to see one shred of anything connecting him to Natalee's disappearance or anything else related to this investigation, including the RUMOR that he is somebody's illegitimate son which I highly doubt.  He's too old for one thing.

Until there is some evidence of an actual connection other than wild speculation I really think Lorenzo is a non-issue.  

Just my opinion but I am beginning to feel sorry for this kid Lorenzo!

I noticed we had some old visitors here tonight.  I don't mean old, age-wise, but old as in used to post here some time ago.  I've also noticed that when things get hot in this case, all sorts of people crawl out of the woodwork and jump into our usually desultory conversations.  Things start to jump all over. like someone dumped a can of Mexican jumping beans into the cage.

Apparently, Ronchi de Cuba’s minimalist days were over, opulence came back, with a vengeance. The International Female Model Contest brought more than 40 young, professional catwalk stars to the island for a contest at the Tropicana Showroom. The event, captured by E-Entertainment Television, is organized every second year by the popular local-born designer - odd years are reserved for the International Male Model Contests.
