Hope I do this right.
I found this missing person when looking for other missing girls in the area of Amber and Chelsea. I don't know why but she just called out to me and it has been bothering me. she is from desert hot springs. It says she is an endangered runaway and her missing date is 1/18/10 and I can find little else on her. I am asking if there is a Monkey out there which can help me find the circumstances surrounding her gone missing. TIA

Thank you for checking Nutt. It is strange she is on the missing list but their doesn't seem to be much about her in the newspapers there. Maybe I will write to a reporter in local paper and ask about her.

Ok I wrote to a local paper, I searched the site but found nothing. Lets see what happens.

Desert Hot Springs CA is apx. 113 miles northeast of Escondido. Not impossible to be related to Chelsea/Amber, but it's anyones guess. Seems Gardner certainly did 'get around'. She also looks similar to 'his type'.

Of course I didn't need her to tell me that since I could do a search and find that out. I was asking if there was any information regarding her, that I wanted to include her into our missing persons forum. So what do you suggest? She is listed as an endangered runaway and nothing more.

I just responded to her email, this is what I wrote.

Thank you for your response. I did do a search and didn't see anything published. Are you familiar with this missing girl? What are the police doing to find her or get the word out she is missing? I am not sure how to find a missing person if no one talks about it, just trying to help.

well she has a myspace as well. Something tells me this girl did try to runaway as it states in her front page,About me:

Hi Tracygirl- I looked at the above facebook page but it is for a Sierra King. I did a search however and found a Sierra Dick that matches your photo of her. I also went through her friends and found that her mother is named Cynthia Miles. She does have some things on her wall about Sierra being missing. She also has that she is 3 months pregnant (posted on March 2, 2010)

I also noticed that Sierra has become friends with others in Feb of this year. Mom also posted the following in February: "will i have the missing person people putting big poster out there and i have the media coming to my house kesq and 2 news"

I wrote to her mom asking for information. I also joined Sierra's facebook site last night and sent her a message today. I will pose any information I may come across.

Hi Tracy-I figured you were thinking about Chelsea King when you had first posted the facebook too. It seems to be the only thing on my mind lately too. Thanks so much for bringing it forward. It worries me that she is pregnant. I hope she is getting the proper prenatal care that she needs. I hate that she isn't home where her Mom can help her through her pregnancy. I can only imagine how frighted Sierra must be being so young and pregnant. (Heck, I was 33 years old for my first  pregnancy and felt scared about bringing a baby in to this world) Anyway, thanks for bringing her face forward for us and making contact with her Mother. Her mom responded to my email. She says Sierra was last seen Jan 18th at her dads house. She also stated she is frustrated because she cannot get any media attention. She asked how to get to our folder here and I gave her the link to the folder. I explained there are questions we need answered as right now it is a bit confusing. So we will see.

I have to say, from the tone of the email her mother sounds like she just wants to know her daughter is ok. I am not sure if she knows she maybe pregnant? I don't understand this case yet, so I will wait for more details.

Looking through moms facebook there was a wedding on 1/17/10, I am thinking it is mom but I am not sure. Sierra went missing on 1/18/10 from her dads house. On the myspace that I found (which was confirmed by the pic of her,) through going through a facebook of another person with the last name Dick, It stated she was out of there in January. I don't know what she meant, could have been she was going to live with her dad and not that she was going to run away? I am not sure where dad lives. hmmm this is a bit interesting, I am going to see where this takes us.

I heard from Sierra's mom. What I gather so far is Sierra lived at her dads house which is in the same town. Sierra was doing drugs in the past year she lived with her father. At about 3:30 in the morning the mom got a call saying Sierra was gone, earlier that night her dad heard some noises but didn't get up to investigate, sierra was gone. The mom feels she is being held against her will although she had run away before. The main reason for this is because the fact she was close to her brother and has not reached out to contact him. She stated the dad is not involved in looking for her. I have not emailed or spoken to him to validate that.

My gut is telling me she is with the father of the baby she is pregnant with or a significant other, is who she left with. I wonder if she is in Mexico?

We deal with a lot of missing persons cases which the person is said to be kidnapped, endangered missing, not too many are actual runaways. This girl is 17 years old, pregnant, has had a year of drug use which leads me to believe she was hanging with the wrong crowd. Her mother I think just wants to know if she is ok. She feels she is being held against her will and was kidnapped. I think it is clear she went willingly as her cloths and shoes were taken and considering the myspace message saying she will be out of there in January.

The question is, who did she leave with and after she left, did she run into any danger.
LE is not doing much if anything and she cannot get the media's attention. If you think LE does little for an endangered missing girl, they pretty much do nothing if the person has run away.

I am not sure what I can help with other then getting this posted and maybe someone will read and recognize Sierra. The mom needs to contact all of her friends on line and in person and try to get one of them to talk. My hunch is one of them knows who she left with and where they are. I would also check if anyother person is missing at that same time.

If any monkey out there has some idea's please let me know.

This missing poster says that her nickname is Sierra Bella and her hair is dyed auburn.

No I didnt see it. I have to be honest, I am sort of new to facebook and still trying to figure out how it works. I just figured I wasn't looking in the right place.

I feel badly for her mom, she seems like she really wants her daughter back or to know that she is ok. She seems worried for her daughter. She had told me in an facebook message Sierra didn't have any problems last year, she was working and going to school then she moved into her dads house and she went downhill. (I have not spoken or emailed with her dad, so I cannot validate that) She also said something about the mom got married to I think the step dad although she wrote dad, everyone had told her Sierra would come back but she didn't? Not sure what that means. I can assume she left because mom wasn't married or something? I dont know.

I am not sure where to go with this one, any idea's?

I hope someone that is reading this may know where Sierra is. If so, please just have her call her mom and let her mom know she is ok. She is worried about her daughter, no matter what has happened to cause her to run, her mom is just worried and needs to know she is alive and ok. To me that sounds reasonable.

Mom became a fan of Scared Monkeys on facebook and posted there. She hasn't posted here that I am aware of. She also posted on SM's facebook something about how to join SM.

I have been emailing the mom today back and forth. I feel badly because she is living the nightmare of having a 17 year old who gives a strong impression she ran away. I gave her some suggestions on what to do, as we all know the parents have to do it, because LE doesn't, can't , wont or whatever their reason is. I told her to post flyers everywhere she can, ask local businesses to post the missing flyer of Sierra in their windows, pass out flyers at boarder crossings and put an ad in the area newspapers. I also suggested to talk with everyone Sierra knew and talked to on line and in the area.
She says she just wants a phone call. How sad, she just wants to know her daughter is ok. How awful that must be to have a child missing and not know where they are.

Chatted with the mom a few minutes ago and got a few more details, she explained, Sierra was staying with her dad, he heard a noise in the middle of the night but didn't check it out until later and then she was already gone.
She is pregnant but is not with the baby's dad anymore, she broke up with him and was seeing/dating/hanging out with a 24 year old man who the mom is told does drugs and has a record. She knows his first name but not his last. He is from Colorado but she doesn't know where.
She wants to get this on the TV news and I explained for a presumed runaway it can be nearly impossible. The police refuse to help in this case, they strongly believe she is ok and just ran away.
My question is, this is a 24 year old man who supposedly ran off with a 17 year old girl. Is that legal? A person has to be 18 years old? 17 doesn't make it sort of ok right? She could press charges against this guy?

I did a very preliminary search for Sierra on line when there was just one post on this thread. I didn't really find anything. It's always easier to find info BEFORE the internet gets all clogged up with the info that she is missing.

She didn't appear to spend much time online and didn't leave a trail of herself all over.

Personally, I feel that she did probably take off, but that still doesn't mean that the police should give her case zero effort / focus. She is a minor and bad things happen to minors when they are away from home and they are not equipped with life's learning lessons. They are at the risk of predators and I sincerely wish that she would be found soon.

Maybe Sierra's mom would assist with the details on the person she may have left with. I'm also not sure that someone would hold someone who is pregnant against their will - it takes resources to care for someone who is pregnant - so unless it was someone who wanted the baby - I really don't see that as a huge possibility. I think this is more or less a case of someone that wanted a little bit more freedom than her father may have allowed. And that's possibly a good thing and she is alive somewhere.
 
The best chance to find her is the former boyfriend - with whom she may be in contact - or - the name of the new boyfriend and where he is from. I would bet she is with the new boyfriend.

Let me explain why I am not letting this go. I have been on Sierra's myspace and through that I have found her sisters, mothers and brothers. When looking through the pics they have posted ones taken last year and the year before, they show a different girl then a drug using runaway. Before she left she had a job at a local grocery store and she was going to school, granted she could have been simply saving money to leave, but she did work. She also is close to her brother and she has not called him or anyone in the family, it has been 1 1/2 mo since she left, no word.
Then we have the fact she is pregnant and 17 years old. She is supposedly with a 24 year old drug user. That just bothers me, is Sierra using drugs? What about the baby she is carrying? And add in the fact she is not with the baby's dad who has a right to the child, what is the plan once the baby is born? Is Sierra and MR 24 year old going to keep the baby, give it up and if the later then to whom and under what circumstance? I just don't see this as a healthy environment for the baby or Sierra.
It is hard because she is clearly a runaway, the mom is frantically worried about her daughter and everyone is treating this as oh well she is fine, don't worry she will come back. The police need to give a little bit into this case, as Rob said, she is a minor.

Tracygirl, I do agree with everything you've said. No doubt about it - a pregnant 17 year old on the road, God only knows where, is not a good thing. At some point she will probably surface due to the fact that she will need medical care for her baby and herself. I know that doesn't make the here and now any easier, and it doesn't confirm that something terrible hasn't happened to her.

In a situation like this - I suggest the family hire a private investigator. The cost should be around 5 thousand dollars. If the police aren't willing to do anything - a private investigator is the best and only shot.

My name is Mindi. Sierra is my cousin. She was supposed to graduate from high school in January. So on myspace she said I am out of here in January. Her parents are divorced. Her father is remarried and has been for sometime. Her mother just remarried the day before she went missing. She has always been close to her siblings but brother the closest. She has not called him. My aunt is worried about her youngest. She was told Sierra was pregnant. Even if she is a runaway she needs medical attention. She had a sibling dye from sids in the early 80's and all her other siblings had to be put on a monitor for there heart. She was also. This baby, when it comes, should be on a heart monitor also. We are just worried no one should be aloan facing pregnancy. Especially a 17 year old.

Welcome to Scared Monkeys.  I agree, Sierra must be found.  Even is she left by choice, she is young and it sounds like if she is pregnant it makes finding her even more urgent.  I hope she's found soon.

Hello Sierra'scousin, thank you for joining and posting. Your aunt had told me the person she left with may live in Colorado, do you know where in Colorado? You may want to contact the state police and inform them as well as sending flyers to all of the police agencies. Also contact the free clinics and county hospitals in Colorado and fax a flyer to them.
Eventually she will have to seek medical attention and I think that is the best way to find her.

I also want to say, I don't care any less because she ran away. At 17 years old we don't always make the right decisions such as her leaving with a man that is 24 years old and has a drug record. There is something creepy about that to me and makes me want to help with whatever I can. It just doesn't seem like who ever she left with, whether this man or someone else, they do not have her best interest at heart. Who would offer to help a 17 year old pregnant girl away from not only medical care but her support system? It worries me too.

So I think we have some options, keep contacting the police and get after them to do something. Hang flyers every where you can including on car windows and ask those in your area who work or travel out of town if they would do the same. Consider adding the 24 year old mans name and description to the flyer. Fax flyers to the county hospitals in California, Nevada and Colorado as well as the state police in other states. Consider hiring a private investigater. (other monkeys please add to my list if you have anything)

I know it sound like a lot, but unfortunately police do not go after runaways, they claim they don't have enough man power or money or god knows what. Often times the family has to do the looking.

Welcome to SM. I am willing to help and I have someone that will take the time to place a few phone calls and help get the ball rolling for you. However, we need the boyfriend's last name - and where he may live. Otherwise, this is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I'm not sure what the age is in California or Colorado for Sierra to be on her own, but someone just informed me that a person aged 17 can be considered of legal age in Georgia. I am not located in Georgia, but I am on the East Coast and am limited due to my locale, but will try to help if you have a little more info.

I'm pretty sure by this point Sierra does know that you are searching for her - and maybe if you both had some time to talk you could work it all out.

She was last reported to have been seen by a Denver, Colorado man named “Johnny,” aged 26, Caucasian, brown hair with a tattoo on the right side of his chest, driving a black BMW with Colorado license plates. It is also a known fact that this “Johnny” individual is a drug addict.

Glad you made it in the forum. Thank you for posting. So am I to understand after she left her dad's home she was seen at the ralphs she worked at? What was her mood while there and what was the purpose of her going there?
As Rob said, please get his last name at least. There are probably thousands of 24 year old johnny's in Colorado.

Found this, not sure if it answers your question Rob. Not sure if the Age of Concent is the same as the age one becomes an adult. I was always under the impression 18 was the magic age.

Seems the age of concent in California is 18, however in Colorado it is 17.

She has a higher GPA than me. Sierra sounds smart and to have a job and go to school at the same time. There is a denver, colorado sex registered offenders website. If her boyfriend is a sex offender, I just thought I'd check denver for a 26 year old, and Joshua Adam Muro (06-04-1984) who is hispanic, was the only one that came to my attention, there are 1076 offenders in denver, so there are probably more out there. This is a hunch but maybe he intends on fathering Sierra's baby so he can molest the child. Muro sexually assaulted a child in 2008. I hope this helps a little bit...

My gut is telling me that there is wayyyy more here than meets the eye.

I don't have any idea what Sierra's mom knows or doesn't know - but I've been around long enough to know that something doesn't feel right here.

I am willing to bet she knows the name - first and last - of the new boyfriend and she is not telling the whole truth here.

My personal feelings are that this is some sort of inner family personal issue, and maybe not exactly right for the net (meaning us) and more for a private investigator.

My guess is that Sierra's mom knows exactly where she is.

Yes I can understand that Rob. There is a detail that I keep getting stuck on. I agree about the PI and when she is found, this family enters into professional counseling. From what she tells me though, she is working to find her daughter, I just think she may not know exactly how to go about it. The police are not giving her that much help..I think her intensions are good.

she (Sierra's mom) knows we're talking about her and so does Sierra's cousin...

The post they made never rang true to me.. and I have been involved with these missing person cases for a long time. I see the type of posts that the parents of a missing child makes...  When you see legitimate heartfelt posts - you know they are genuine and the desperation is THERE. I haven't seen that at all .. not once.

The screen captures only signify that Sierra's mom had other things on her mind AFTER she claimed her daughter went missing - whether voluntarily or not. (I believe it's ALL voluntary)..there is alot of info here and sometimes what is NOT said is as important as what IS said.

Notice her father says nothing...

if he can't be bothered - well, that says it all. He knows and so does Sierra's mom. Sierra knows they have been sorta trying to find her - and - those facebook pages tell you who she went with and who Sierra's mom has been talking to.. nuff said wouldn't ya say?

she knows where she is and she gets her messages to her - Sierra doesn't appear ready to talk yet.

Thank you Klass for emailing. I looked on the facebooks of the 2 boys he put up and I didn't see anything which would lead me to believe they are involved or something crazy was going on. 

I have to be honest and say the mom wanted me to call her on the phone, I think because she can better communicate that way, but I do not feel comfortable calling anyone I don't know that well, especially from the internet. It is a rule my husband and I have. Had I called I may have gotten a better understanding of this situation. I don't know.

This is nothing against Rob at all. I have a great deal of respect for him.
I don't get the feeling this is a scam. I am glad you got a hold of the news. See what I said, we will get there inch by inch, just hang in there.

I think it was put out as a press release or a, oh gosh what is it called. Sort of like an alert from the riverside sheriffs? Something like that. We are gnawing away at this.

Well to be honest with you Sierra's mom I think there are things you can possibly do before filing a lawsuit. This may give the impression you are just out for the money. I don't want you to make a mistake. If LE will not look there are ways to pressure them, such as going to your mayor, going to the press, speaking to the counsel members, speaking with your congress person. A law suit will not give you the out come I think you are looking for. Please reconsider doing this at this stage of the game. just my opinion.

It appears "Sierra Dick" has now changed her Facebook name to "Cynthia Dick" and removed the ability to view her wall. This kid has no intention on being found. ::MonkeyNoNo::

don't know that much about this case...but it seems that Rob was right ?

whatever the circumstances  of why Sierra was gone, I am glad that she was found safe...

I want to say that I am so happy she was found safe. I pray for this family to come back together and find each other again. We read so many stories of young folks found dead or worse then anything I could imagine, never found. This is a 2nd chance if you will for this mother and daughter and I pray they will see it as that, a 2nd chace to make ammends and heal.

The problem is she is about ready to turn 18 .. She will be adult and SHE keeps running away.
How will you keep her home then ? Who got her pregnant and where is he now and how old is HE ?
It is hard to help somebody who runs away from you.

Is She endangering the unborn child by her behavior ?

WHY is she running away and why is it nobody can seem to reason with her ??

I am just asking questions as others here seem to know far more then I on this case.

I feel most sorry for the baby that she is carrying...what kind of a life is this child going to have? will mom settle down and stay at home once she has the baby or will she take the baby from place to place? really sad...all my opinion....

Mom- I am sorry that Sierra feels the need to keep leaving. Was she in a safe place when she ran away the first time? Can she raise this baby on her own? Can you help raise this baby in your home? If the answer to these questions is "NO", you might try to encourage her to put the baby up for adoption. I hope things work out. ::MonkeyAngel::

I'm not going to lock this thread yet but I suspect there is a reason Sierra keeps taking off.

I was the person that brought this case to this forum and I have to say I am regretting that decision.

Your daughter is 17 years old, pregnant and wants to be with this man. I don't know why she keeps running away, I suspect it is because she is not getting support at home. I think there comes a time as parents we have to allow our children to make mistakes but be there to support them when everything comes crashing down around them. She is going to be with this man whether or not you want her to be, that she is proving. As I said to you in an email a few weeks back, You have a choice to make. Either support your daughter through this time in her life even if you have to pretend to or don't but, be prepared for her not wanting to be around you. I fear you are making a big mistake that will eventually be what divides you and your daughter for years to come.
 I think for me anyway and I am so sorry to say this, I simply do not know how to help you anymore and I simply wish you luck

Cookie, Tracy and Klass-Good advice. I think this whole thing is just a lost cause. Sierra isn't a 12 year old girl anymore. I agree something is definably wrong in the home for her to keep leaving.

Sierras Mom-you have little control here considering Sierra's age. In my opinion, you need to be there for your daughter no matter what without judging her or telling her what she has to do. I think if you continue forcing her to come back, that you may lose her forever. Just be there for her, thats all, she should be the all that matters. ::MonkeyAngel::
