HOUSTON - A Harris County man is being described as a monster by some. Donnie Ray Pearson, 32, has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a 23-month-old girl to such a degree that his charge has been elevated to super aggravated sexual assault of child.

Harris County court records indicate that Pearson is accused of not only two counts of sexually assaulting the child but beating the toddler as well.

Investigators say the assault took place in 2009 in Deer Park while Pearson was caring for the child.

Prosecutors say that Pearson was the boyfriend of the child's mother. Doctors who examined the child say that there was serious internal damage to parts of her body. There were also bruises found on the girl's arm, face, back, legs and hip area.

Pearson is being held in jail on $80,000 bond and is expected to be arraigned in court on Tuesday.

DEER PARK, Texas—A Deer Park man is facing charges after investigators say he sexually assaulted the 23-month-old daughter of his live-in girlfriend in July of 2009.

Donnie Pearson, 32, is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

In addition to the toddler, Pearson lived in the home with six other children at the time of the alleged assault, court documents said.

Court documents indicate the child was brought to the hospital by her mother after she was found with multiple injuries.

After examining the toddler, the doctor determined there was evidence of abuse.

Investigators interviewed the mother, who led them to Pearson.

Pearson told investigators the child was in his care when she was injured, but he was unable to provide a reasonable explanation for how the injuries occurred.

Investigators said Pearson voluntarily submitted his clothing and a saliva sample for analysis during the interview.

Police said DNA consistent with that of the victim’s was later found on Pearson’s clothing.

An arrest warrant was issued for Pearson on May 25. He was arrested on May 26 and is being held in the Galveston County Jail on $80,000 bond.

Dear God! My grand daughter is 22 months old..I can not imagine her going through anything so horrible! what possible "desire" can a grown man find in a tiny innocent baby??? this is so sickening beyond words!
