Casey In Court For Hearing On Finances, Information
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Casey Anthony was in court Monday afternoon for a hearing on finances and information the state wants the defense to provide. Prosecutors had to call for the hearing to get important information regarding defense experts; the information includes how much the experts were paid.

Casey Anthony entered the courtroom exactly at 1:00pm wearing an orange, short-sleeve blouse and a pair of grey slacks (See Images | Watch Video). There was little to no exchange between her attorneys before the hearing immediately got underway.

Prosecutors started by asking Chief Judge Belvin Perry to compel Casey Anthony's defense team to hand over their contracts with their experts, bills and payments, travel, meal and entertainment records, and photographs, communications, and notes pertaining to the experts and their work on the case; the records go back before the defense ran out of money, after spending about $300,000.

"My first response to Mr. Ashton's motion ... there's nowhere in the rules that outline this particular type of discovery, at least some of it," Baez argued to Judge Belvin Perry on Monday afternoon. "There's nothing that entitles the state to this."

Soon after prosecutors filed their motion, the defense filed the exact same motion asking the exact same information pertaining to the state's experts and listed 34 prosecution experts.

"It should work both ways. It hasn't been working both ways," Baez argued about the information the state is seeking.

Judge Perry then pressed Baez on some of the areas of information the state is requesting, specifically records for travel, notes taken by experts, and photographs taken by experts.

"Other than work product, we'd be more than happy to turn it over to them," Baez said.

Judge Perry then pressed the prosecution on what qualifies the state to receive the information they have requested. While the prosecution argued their point, Judge Perry said they have other means for obtaining much of the information they are seeking.

"The discovery rules were never designed to eliminate attorneys doing things on their own they can obtain," Judge Perry instructed the prosecution. "As to the request dealing with one, two, three, and four, I would deny those without prejudice unless they cannot be obtained through their vehicle of deposition. As to five, six, I will grant that request."

Five and six refer to photographs and notes pertaining to the experts and their work. Judge Perry also ordered the defense to provide information to the state by Friday at 2:00pm on what experts will be testifying about, as well as the aforementioned photos and notes.

Judge Perry also ordered that the defense review of DNA evidence be completed within 45 days.

Meanwhile, the defense wants permission to hire another forensic scientist at taxpayers' expense. Casey Anthony's defense team said the state has two forensic experts that are analyzing the decomposition process to pinpoint Caylee Anthony's time of death and explain the placement of her remains in the woods near her home, so it wants two experts.

The defense is asking permission to hire a taphonomist, which is an expert in decomposition.

Monday's hearing was the second in two months that switched from a simple status conference to a motion hearing that required Casey's attendance.

Casey Anthony and her defense team were back in court Monday for a status hearing on the case. Anthony was dressed in an orange top with her hair pulled up.

The state filed six motions and was granted two of them by Judge Perry.

The judge approved the state’s request for any notes taken by the expert or for the expert while they examined any evidence in this case be turned over to the prosecution. He also ruled in favor of their request for any photographs or video taken by the experts be turned over to prosecutors.

The judge denied the state’s request for

-Any contracts or agreements, in any manner or form, setting for the scope of work or expected compensation.
-Any communications between the expert and any member of the defense team, either past or present, or any member of their staff, or any one working on behalf of the Defendant.
-All records of bills submitted by or payments made to the expert.
-All records pertaining to payments for travel, meals or entertainment paid to or for the benefit of the expert or anyone traveling with the expert, by any member of the defense team, either past or present, or any member of their staff, or any one working on behalf of the Defendant.

Anthony has pleaded not guilty on charges that she killed her daughter, 2-year-old Caylee Marie, claiming a babysitter kidnapped her toddler. Caylee was last seen in June of 2008, but she was not reported missing until a month later. Her remains were found in woods near the family's home in December 2008.
Anthony's trial is scheduled to start in May 2011.

If she can't wear a decent bra, the least she could do is invest in a good old fashioned roll of duck tape...just sayin' , it works for me! Bet she has some awful bruises on her knees...    ::MonkeyDevil::

She's just gained her weight back, and then some. Anyone doing a bewb job for Cindy would do a bewb lift as part of the procedure. Cindy has not had a bewb lift......... that's for sure!

Maybe she doesn't think the lift bras are comfortable, but if that's the case, she needs to get rid of anything "stretch" to wear as a shirt. It wouldn't hurt for her to also get rid of anything sleeveless. She's "flappin' in the wind" in too, too many places.

Hi All!  I haven't been on here for a very long time.  I hardly even get to watch the news much anymore.  LOL   My daughter and granddaughter moved in with me this summer cause my son-in-law is deployed to Afghanistan.  It's been rough and we still have 8 months to go.   Now that he actually got overseas in the last week communication with him is hit and miss and makes it rough on them. In turn makes it rough on us.  But we will get through it.  We are so very proud of him and his fellow soldiers. 

  LOL  So true!   I didn't get to watch the hearing.

::MonkeyAngel:: Sorry for the O/T, but thank him from my family for his service. My son just returned from Iraq when the last combat troops returned in late August. Have you tried Skype to  and keep in touch, it was the best thing I ever did as you get to see them and for me it was so much better than just talking to them (I guess I felt better when I could see him, wave to him and several ppl could talk at once on Skype) we also sent photo's, cards and huge care packages with  so he could share with the other soldiers and the Iraqi kids, some of the soldiers get anything  ::MonkeyNoNo:: we even sent dog food since they adopted a dog over there. Hang in there and know the soldiers are prayed for by daily and for their families, sometimes I think it's harder on the family left behind since the soldiers are usually focused on a mission, so I will add your SIL and family to my prayers.

The thing I notice all the time is how KC always picks at her clothes.
It is constant.
She is always pulling, tugging, tucking and adjusting.
I notice it in every single video image of her.
It drives me nuts.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony, who is charged with killing her daughter, Caylee, attended a court hearing Monday in Orlando.

At the afternoon hearing, prosecutors asked Judge Belvin Perry to order Anthony's defense team to turn over information about its expert witnesses, including contracts between the defense and the witnesses, communications among them, billing records, and travel, meals and entertainment expenses.

Prosecutors claimed they needed the information to adequately question the witnesses in upcoming depositions.

Do you know is the defense able to hire who they want and is there  a limit to how much they can spend?  I think that if she is going to be able to do this then she should have a public defender too but I know that is won't happen.

There is a limit to what the defense can spend. I think she should have a public defender as well instead of several lawyers.

Casey Anthony was back in court today for a status hearing. Her look and manner drew analysts’ scrutiny.

“In Session” commentators were struck by her orange blouse. “That’s not inmate uniform. She’s wearing regular clothes,” host Vinnie Politan said.

Why the regular clothes? The consensus was the defense is getting Anthony ready to wear them for her murder trial; she is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

“It’s orange. It’s not a good color to wear,” Politan added. And he said he would advise his clients against wearing the color.

He later said that Anthony didn’t look very comfortable today, but soon after that comment, she was smiling broadly.

As for court matters, Politan observed it was business as usual for Chief Judge Belvin Perry. “It seems like they’ve gotten a lot of the work done,” Politan said. “Surprisingly, it looks like they’re on target” for a trial start in May.

Politan noted that Cindy Anthony, Casey’s mother, was in court, but George Anthony wasn’t there.

Casey Anthony's lawyers are doing all they can to keep its defense strategy under wraps.

In court Monday, Chief Judge Belvin Perry ruled the defense won't have to tell the state anything and everything about its expert witnesses.

Out of six requests made by the state looking for more information about the defense's expert witnesses, the judge granted two.

By this time next week, the defense will have to hand over notes photos and video from when the experts were in town examining evidence.

“We need some type of information that will help us know who we need to depose, how long and what subject," said Chief Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton.

That's information any lawyer needs to know before heading to trial.

For the state, who's seeking to take Anthony's life, it's information they said they need to know now.

However, Perry said they can find most of the information out when they depose the defense's expert witnesses later on.

The defense has one week to give the state any and all notes, videos and photos its experts took while reviewing evidence.

Because Anthony doesn't have any money to fund her defense, taxpayers are picking up the bill. But that puts restraints on how much experts can be paid.

The defense said some of its experts are working for pennies, and points out the state is paying top dollar for some of its experts.

“There's nowhere near an equal playing field,” said Jose Baez, Anthony’s attorney.

The defense isn't asking its experts to write reports about their findings and said it’s to save money.

But Will Jay, a legal analyst, said it’s to keep their strategy come may a secret.

"I think it's a tactical move,” Jay said. “To not getting their experts pinned into a report to be examined on that report. As defense attorneys, they're going to do is tear the state experts up as best they can by their reports."

The defense has one week to give the state the information on its experts and the state will have until the end of February to depose them.

The state wanted the defense to turn over any information about the experts including contracts, receipts and info on travel, meals and entertainment expenses.

In court Monday, Baez said there's no wining and dining going on.

Hi Monks---

Casey has always seemed to be grooming herself constantly.  I remember on the day she was last arrested and she was being questioned, you could see on the video that she was constantly grooming herself, even when the questioner left the room.  Since she's been in the slammer, she seems to wear blouses which aren't quite large enough for her.  I know she has to wear what Cindy sends and I wonder if Cindy does this purposely.  I thought Casey looked healthy.  I don't know how you can maintain yourself that well in jail.  She must get some time to exercize outside because she doesn't look pale.   Personally, I think she enjoys being in jail.  She has attained what she always wanted.  She doesn't have to do anything--no job, no cooking, no cleaning.  She has time to devote to herself 100%.  And she doesn't have to deal with Cindy.

I, too, would like to know how much Baez has paid his so-called experts.  He went through a lot of money before Casey went on the dole.  It would be interesting to see an accounting of it.  When he gave the figures to Judge Strickland, I thought the judge was hasty in accepting them without having a CPA go over it.  I do know that Baez has become noticeably more well groomed and has custom made suits--maybe he has a personal shopper?  I have a personal shopper--Me!

The impact of these invasive calls knowing darn well they are not only attempting to raise reasonable doubt but looking for anyone else to become a suspect is going to be felt well beyond this case.   People shouldnt have to feel apprehensive about helping in a search without getting their privacy invaded unmercifully and/or under fear that they will become a suspect in a crime.    We've already seen examples of Bozo's PI being surly & this team's less than respectable conduct.  Funny thing about people with a hidden agenda, they usually get snagged....so here's to waiting for the day they finally get called out on it HARD.

New Witnesses May Indicate Casey Didn't Dump Body

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's defense team said on Monday it has more than a dozen new witnesses that support the claim Anthony did not place her daughter's remains in the woods.

Defense attorneys said they have 15 to 20 people who searched the exact area where Caylee Anthony's remains were found but found no body.

In the past, Texas EquuSearch volunteers have given sworn statements saying that the area in question was under water and there was no way to figure out what was there.
Defense attorney Cheney Mason said the names of the witnesses will be given to Judge Belvin Perry on Friday.

For the first time on Monday, Anthony defense attorney Jose Baez acknowledged his team may put off a motion to introduce evidence that the man who found the remains, Roy Kronk, should have been considered a suspect in the case.

Perry warned Baez that he should make up his mind about the motion soon.

The judge also turned down the prosecution's request for the defense to turn over potentially sensitive records of financial arrangements with defense experts.

"If they want to know what each person is being paid, they can simply ask them," Baez said.
Perry said he will require the defense to turn over notes taken by the experts along with any photos and video they've taken. The defense will also be required to give prosecutors information about what field each of the experts will be addressing.

Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony, was at Monday's hearing but was unable to address her daughter.

Watching NG. She's calling into her show from the hospital after the dr. found a solid mass on ultra sound. She's crying talking about her experience. They removed the mass and fortunately it wasn't cancer. She didn't say where the mass was or if she did, I missed it.

Hi Curly.....I sure don't believe there are no reports....I'd bet if JP questioned the defense thoroughly covering all modes of 'reporting'....notes, video, audio and what ever.....skyp...there is something...perhaps not an official report, but certainly there are reports.....even if, as you say, they are giving them verbally....someone is transcribing the information IF they benefit the defense...if not....then no...no reports of any kind....but it's gonna all come out in the trial.  JMO of course

What I believe is the defense told their experts not to produce one so that they dont have to turn it over...then again if they had anything decent & plausible they would be waving it around while passing out party favors.

I remeber when LE went to the anthonys house and cyn told LE that caylees blanket was missing from her room. Did she said that after the body was found?

Legal eagle monkeys . . . if I am understanding this correctly . . . then we the dufense's witnesses are on the stand, they will have to rely on their memories and cannot refer to a report they generated.  I see this as a huge gamble -- first question at trial, have you ever forgotten anything?
I agree if there was anything of substance, they would be waving it like a matador's cape . . . they have nothing because there is nothing.  Although I wish Judge Perry had slammed the hammer a couple of times . . . one thing for sure . . . bozo et al better have better whinning techniques because when His Honor says a certain date and it is finished, I can tell he ain't just kidding.

If any of the reports were favorable to Casey, Bozo would hang them on every telephone pole in Orlando.

I "think" they are looking for someone or ones specifically. They do not know who they are looking for, but they are frantically searching for them by going through all the names and lists. I think the ones they are looking for were not with TES and are LE. If they aren't careful they might find more than they bargained for. It has been said there are a LOT of pictures of that area and other areas taken in the summer and later in the year which show DEEP water there.

I don't think they have ANYONE who searched that area. I think it is all a lie and and power play to taint the jury pool with reasonable doubt. I would bet money there are not reports because NONE of the experts have anything which would help the defense. They would not want derogatory info on paper and told them not to do any written reports. I can see Bozo telling the experts to hold their notes and then the state gets them in court it will all come out. They are all "crooked as a dog's hind leg" and I trust none of them.

Orlando, Florida (CNN) -- The judge in the murder trial of a Florida woman accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter ruled Monday that defense attorneys do not have to give prosecutors contracts, billing and expense records of their expert witnesses.

However, Judge Belvin Perry also ruled that any notes, photographs or video taken by the defense experts in connection to the case do have to be turned over.

The defense also has to provide the prosecution with the subject matter that each expert is planning to testify about.

Perry is presiding in the trial of Casey Anthony, who has been charged with capital murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

The girl was reported missing in July 2008. Caylee's skeletal remains were found in the woods about a quarter-mile from the Anthony home in December 2008, after months of intense searches and speculation.
Anthony appeared in court Monday, in gray slacks and a bright orange top, seemingly engaged and relaxed. She has pleaded not guilty.

Perry told the attorneys in the case to be aware of looming deadline and to expect no more postponements. The trial is set to start in May.

Perry previously ordered that jury selection in the highly publicized case be held in another county, with jurors brought to Orlando when opening statements begin.

Defense attorney Jose Baez has repeatedly complained about pretrial publicity and has asked the judge to limit the release of public records about the case, but Perry has refused.

More than 5,000 pages of documents related to the case have been released, including letters from Anthony's mother and both fan mail and hate mail from the public.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for late December.

Casey Anthony's lawyers are doing all they can to keep its defense strategy under wraps.

In court Monday, Chief Judge Belvin Perry ruled the defense won't have to tell the state anything and everything about its expert witnesses.

Out of six requests made by the state looking for more information about the defense's expert witnesses, the judge granted two.

By this time next week, the defense will have to hand over notes, photos and video from when the experts were in town examining evidence.

“We need some type of information that will help us know who we need to depose, how long and what subject," said Chief Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton.

That's information any lawyer needs to know before heading to trial.

For the state, who's seeking to take Anthony's life, it's information they said they need to know now.

However, Perry said they can find most of the information out when they depose the defense's expert witnesses later on.

The defense has one week to give the state any and all notes, videos and photos its experts took while reviewing evidence.

Because Anthony doesn't have any money to fund her defense, taxpayers are picking up the bill. But that puts restraints on how much experts can be paid.

The defense said some of its experts are working for pennies, and points out the state is paying top dollar for some of its experts.

“There's nowhere near an equal playing field,” said Jose Baez, Anthony’s attorney.

The defense isn't asking its experts to write reports about their findings and said it’s to save money.

But Will Jay, a legal analyst, said it’s to keep their strategy come May a secret.

"I think it's a tactical move,” Jay said. “To not getting their experts pinned into a report to be examined on that report. As defense attorneys, they're going to do is tear the state experts up as best they can by their reports."

The defense has one week to give the state the information on its experts and the state will have until the end of February to depose them.

The state wanted the defense to turn over any information about the experts including contracts, receipts and information on travel, meals and entertainment expenses.

In court Monday, Baez said there's no wining and dining going on.

When Baez says something, IMO the opposite is true.  So I think there's lots of wining and dining going on.  Amd judging by his girth, I think Baez is getting his share of crab puffs.  Maybe not in Orlando, but wherever the "experts" are located.  And that "Sex Seminar" he attended a couple of months ago?  Maybe he discovered he was doing it wrong and needed the lectures.

From personal experience in the legal field her is my opinion. The only time we did not have our experts submit written reports is when they were not favorable to us. We did not want anything in writing that would hurt our case. So, I think either there are written reports or there is no experts supporting them. But that is just MOO.

I agree with Dr. Glass that Casey will be the belle of the ball if she gets life instead of the needle.  As I said earlier I think she likes things just as they are and for the same reasons Dr. Glass wrote.  Casey will be very popular with the other inmates and will be able to have a very active "Social" life there.  And she'll have a life with no responsibility.  She can just bask in the admiration of the other women, most of whom will not be as attractive as she is, nor have had a life as privileged as she.  I predict Casey will make good use of the prison law library and will be writing appeals for the other inmates. She might even finish high school, college, and law school there, although I doubt she'll get her license.  But on the other hand, look at Baez' background and it makes one think anyone can get a license to practice. (Just kidding here, folks, I know she can't.)  But I've read that many inmates study the law and become sort of a pseudo lawyer for the others.

Yesterday when the guard was taking Casey out of the courtroom, she almost tenderly IMO put her arm around Casey's shoulders as if they were comrades. I think Casey has already conquered those in her immediate vicinity and once in prison, on to bigger and better things.

I do not think a jury will give her the death penalty, but will find her guilty of something.   On the other hand, she might charm some of the jurors and they'll go for a lesser included.  Sorry, guys, but especially the men.

I also think that jury consultants should be outlawed.  It's very close to jury tampering IMO.  How can they be Casey's "Peers" when they have been handpicked by a person schooled in the psychological make-up of juries? I think juries should be made up of just ordinary people who can swear to make a decision based on just the evidence presented in court.  All of those lengthy  questionnaires which have become common in high profile trials should not be allowed.  It is a terrible invasion of privacy and IMO a violation of the prospective jurors civil rights, particularly when they are released to the press. Three or four pertinent questions should suffice.

BBM, I have never been aware that there will be lesser included charges.  She is charged with a death penalty murder, will the jurors be given lesser charges that she can be given?  Oh my, I don't even want to think about that.  I thought the only choices would be guilty or not guilty of murder and then life in prison or the death penalty.  Does anyone know for sure what the jury will get to decide from?  Even though it will be a death qualified jury, I am afraid people will not want to give life without parole or the death penalty to such a young woman, no matter how evil.  Smart monkeys, please help me out, I am so worried.

I suffer on my riding lawnmower in july..its like an hour in the sauna.
I poured a small concrete slab several years ago with 3 men and it was not easy in the summer heat.. Rosebuddy's excuses are exposed very clearly by Bull..

I just cannot believe this about the 27 bags of concrete! Why didn't we already know this! With all the things we discussed about this case over the past two years, I do not remember this at all! George Anthony poured  a 4 inch concrete slab in his backyard while he knew Caylee was missing??!! OMG this is significant!!! Casey must have put Caylee in the backyard first & then moved her or either George or Cindy found her & moved her!! Did the cadaver dogs hit on this slab at all?? We have done quite a few concrete projects around here over the years.  That's a hella lot of concrete....When are the A's finally going to be arrested, for obstruction if nothing else....

I still hold fast to my theory that there was weed barrier found near Caylee, and it is a MATCH to what is(was) in the Anthony back yard.

Good Morning Monks...I agree, not that I am a legal expert...but I did check with a legal expert who stated the same thing....he follows the case very closely. In his opinion there is nothing to report that could be of any help in the defense area...however, there could be information that would support the State's case. The Casey Anthony defense team has filed a new, amended expert witness list in court with a full-roster of big-name scientists expected to testify at Anthony's upcoming murder trial.

Among those on the list:

•Dr. Henry Lee, the well-known criminalist and forensic pathologist often associated with the O.J. Simpson case. According to his website, Lee is founder and professor of the Forensic Science Program at the University of New Haven. During a 40-year period, Lee assisted with the investigations of some 6,000 cases.

Casey Anthony defense attorney Jose Baez called Lee "probably the world's foremost crime scene detective." He will testify about evidence from the recovery scene where Caylee Marie Anthony's remains were found, Casey Anthony's car and other areas.

• Dr. Tim Huntington, an assistant professor at Concordia University, Nebraska, and a board-certified entomologist. Forensic entomology applies the study of insects to a legal context to help
establish times of death and postmortem movement of bodies
Richard Eikelenboom, a renowned Dutch forensic expert who, along with his wife Selma, is a partner at Independent Forensic Services, a Netherlands lab specializing in trace evidence recovery and Touch DNA testing. They are considered pioneers in the field of "Touch DNA." Richard Eikelenboom is a DNA expert who handles blood-pattern analysis.

Other experts listed by the defense are:

•Dr. Werner Spitz, from Michigan. Baez called Spitz "the grandfather of forensic pathology." Spitz, too, has been involved in other high-profile criminal cases. He also conducted Caylee's second autopsy, Baez reminded.

•Dr. Kathy Reichs, of North Carolina; Baez said Reichs is "the inspiration for the television show Bones." She is a well-known forensic pathologist and author.

•Dr. Jane H. Bock, of the University of Colorado Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department; Baez said Bock is a "forensic botanist," one of the most qualified in that field. Bock often works for the prosecution, Baez noted.

•Dr. Scott Fairgrieve, chair of the Department of Forensic Science at Laurentian University in Ontario; He is a forensic anthropologist.

•Dr. Kenneth Furton, of University Medical & Forensic Consultants, Inc., in West Palm Beach. Furton is a forensic chemist;

•Dr. Barry Logan of National Medical Services, Inc., in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, also a forensic chemist;

•Dr. John Leeson, of Winter Springs, a digital forensics expert;

•Dr. William C. Rodriguez, of Maryland, another well-known forensic anthropologist and co-founder of the so-called "Body Farm" or the University of Tennessee Anthropological Research Facility, which studies the decomposition of human remains. He is an unpaid consultant.

•Dr. Michael Freeman, forensic epidemiologist;

•Michael O'Kelly, an expert witness out of Nebraska, who specializes in cell phone tower operations.

Anthony, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie, in the summer of 2008. She faces the death penalty if convicted. Her trial is expected to start in May.

The defense experts are expected to testify about the various pieces of scientific evidence developed during the investigation of this case, including DNA evidence from the scene where the child's body was recovered in late 2008 and evidence collected from Casey Anthony's car.

"You will not find a better group anywhere," Baez said, noting that the experts are recognized as the leaders and authorities in their particular areas of specialization. "We searched long and hard to be able to give Casey the best defense possible. A lot of work went into compiling this group."

He said it has been "a tremendous pleasure working with each and every one of them."

I know, this is a pet peeve of mine, too.  Unfortunately, spell check wouldn't have prevented her from writing "in a bog".  lol.  I find the mental picture sticks with me, and I can't concentrate on what she is really saying.  I am sure she is intelligent and knows her stuff.... a proof reader would be a real benefit to her.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's defense team revealed this week it has new witnesses that could unravel the prosecution's claim Anthony dumped her own daughter in the woods, but finding those witnesses may be coming at a cost to taxpayers.

Anthony's lawyers filed a motion on Wednesday asking that Judge Bevin Perry approve funding for even more investigative hours.

Perry approved more hours in late October. Defense attorney Jose Baez requested 300 hours. Perry approved 30 hours at a cost of $40 per hour.
Anthony was declared indigent in March, so a state commission doles out funding for her defense.

Many of the hours that have been spent have been used up by the defense in questioning dozens of people who claim to have searched Suburban Drive, the area where Caylee Anthony's remains were discovered in December 2008.

Defense attorney Cheney Mason told WESH 2 News this week the defense has 15 to 20 people who say they searched in the exact area where the remains were discovered months before the find.

Their statements by the volunteers could blow apart the prosecution's claim that Anthony dumped the remains there.

Other volunteers with Texas EquuSearch have testified under oath that the area where the remains were found was under water for months.
Defense attorney Richard Hornsby, who is not affiliated with the case, said it would be difficult for the witnesses to know exactly where they had searched two years ago.

If the new witnesses aren't exactly sure of where they searched along the long, densely wooded stretch of road, their claims could be easily discounted.

"Until these people give very specific accounts of where they were and what they did, you have to take anything they say with a grain of salt," said Hornsby.

It remains to be seen how many of the volunteers will be subpoenaed by Mason and the defense team to testify about what they saw.

"I highly doubt he found anybody who was in that exact spot and until he presents a witness list under oath, I'm very questionable of anything he claims," Hornsby said.

Mason said he plans to present the new witness list to Perry on Friday.

For me and anyone else who might be scratching your head about no reports written by experts.  Hornsby posted this http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93317&page=56

Generally speaking, if an expert is hired by either side AFTER formal charges are filed, the expert rarely prepares a written report specifically because the report can be used to cross-examine them in trial (or deposition) and can be given to the other-side's expert to pick apart.

On the other hand, when an expert is hired by either side BEFORE formal charges are filed, it is common for them to prepare a report specifically because the State must have some documented evidence to support filing whatever charge they file; and from the defense side, a positive report from a defense expert can be turned over to the State specifically to try and persuade them not to file charges.

And to put this in perspective, I had an Aggravated Manslaughter trial last month and the State hired an mental health expert at the last minute and specifically instructed her not to prepare a report. As a result I had to wait until I deposed her to determine her specific findings, what she reviewed, her qualifications, etc. I then had to have the deposition transcribed so I could provide the information to my experts to help me try and discredit her.

So the expert report issues works both ways, and there is nothing particularly shady about instructing an expert not to prepare a report - especially considering the report itself is inadmissible as evidence; rather only the expert's testimony is admissible.

And since the State is free to depose the expert, they are not prejudiced by a report not being prepared.

Actually, Jeff Ashton never made a big deal about defense experts not preparing reports - IF they did not make a report.

What he was a little peeved about (and rightfully so) was the judge not ordering the experts to be required to provide in advance of their depositions their contracts and other things that have been actually been created.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Prosecutors and the defense in the case against Casey Anthony are apparently having a dispute via email (read motion) about how much the judge ordered the defense to divulge about what its experts will be saying at Casey's murder trial in May.

The defense won't give prosecutors specifics, only what the experts' fields of expertise are, which prosecutors say they could have gotten over the Internet.

Prosecutors believe the defense is defying the court's order.

The judge gave the defense until Friday to turn over the information in writing.

Spot on & even if they do have a few idiots willing to fabricate for the defense at trial all the prosecution has to do is ask a series of questions similar to this but certainly not excluded to:

1)  Are you an expert in any field such as geological mapping, topography, botany, hydrology, etc.?
2)  Have you ever searched for a reported missing person prior to this case?  If not, why this case out of unfortunately way too many?
3)  Since your memory is so vivid, could you please describe everything that was in the immediate area during your search including but not limited to type of trees, height of brush, bugs, water, garbage & other objects present that you observed?
4)  Who were you with specifically or what person can verify that you were indeed at this specific location on this particular date?   O by the way, if you were with a TES search team, who was your assigned team leader that day?   Was this person with you at the time of your observations, if not why not?
5)  Did you take notes of your observations, if so do you still have them or did you share same with anyone else?
6)  Where exactly, if at all, was water present?
7)  Did you take pictures to prove you stood in the exact spot?  And by the way, what indications are depicted in these images that exhibit the location specifically?
8 )  (If there are pictures)  Would you please show the court the time stamp & date those pictures were taken & if they are not prior to Caylee's remains being found why were they taken then?
9)  (Again if pictures are introduced)  Do you have a receipt for the development of those images?  Where did you get them developed or what date indicates when you uploaded it on your personal computer?  When did you send those images to the defense?
10)  Speaking of the defense, who originally contacted you and when?   Why did they contact you and what was discussed?
11)  Have you ever spoken to the defendant, her family, friends or any one representing Casey Anthony prior to the defense inquiry into what you observed during your search?
12)  Why didnt you come forward with your observations & opinions to law enforcement well over 2 years ago instead of waiting until the defense contacted you if you felt they were factually relevant to this case?

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Casey Anthony’s defense team has filed a motion asking the court for more money for investigative services.

In October her lawyers requested an additional 300 hours for investigators but the judge only granted 60 hours. In their motion, the defense says they have used up all those hours and need more to “continue investigating the evidence alleged in the State’s discovery, which continues to be on-going.”

Prosecutors also filed a motion in the case asking the judge to force the defense to hand over evidence. The judge has ordered the defense to turn over a witness list along with a brief summary of what each one would be testifying to but the state says the defense failed to do that.

No court date has been set for when the motions will be heard.
Anthony has pleaded not guilty on charges that she killed her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie, claiming a babysitter kidnapped her toddler. Caylee was last seen in June of 2008, but she was not reported missing until a month later. Her remains were found in woods near the family's home in December 2008.  The trial is expected to start in May. 

I don't think that I have ever read that those pavers were retrieved, but the weed barrier was.

A disagreement in the Casey Anthony case has led to an email spat between the defense and state prosecutors, who filed a motion Wednesday accusing the defense of trying to avoid complying with a judge's order.

The controversy comes after the court on Monday ordered Anthony's defense team to provide state prosecutors with information about the subject matter of planned expert testimony. Since then, the disagreement arose about just how detailed that information needs to be.

Wednesday's motion filed by the state contains an email exchange between Anthony's lead attorney, Jose Baez, and Assistant State Attorney Jeffrey L. Ashton. It is that exchange which is the apparent source of the controversy.

Anthony, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie, in the summer of 2008. The state has said it would seek the death penalty if she is convicted.

According to the state's motion, the prosecution was expecting a description of the testimony the expert witnesses will give when they take the stand. But in an email sent 10:47 a.m. Wednesday, Baez only included what he describes it in his message as "the field of [each expert's] anticipated testimony."

For example, the first expert listed is Dr. Henry Lee, of the University of New Haven's forensic science program. His listing includes his address, employer and a one-word description of his field, "Criminalist."

Other experts' fields are described as "forensic pathology," "anthropology" and "K-9 issue." One expert, Dr. William Rodriguez, is only described as, "Expert."

That list led to a series of emails back and forth between the two sides of the well-publicized case.

Ashton replied that, "If this is all you are sending we do not find it to be in compliance with the courts order," to which Baez replied, "You know what are all of the forensic issues are. If you have a question about any particular witness, just ask and I will be more than happy to answer it."

A few emails later, Baez sent a revised list about 11:42 a.m. Wednesday. This time, Lee was described as "Criminalist: He inspected the car and was at the evidence inspection and inspected the scene ALL OF WHICH YOU ALREADY KNOW."

The prosecution filed its motion later Wednesday, asking the court to "clarify its order," and compel the defense to provide additional information.

"It is the State's position that, despite protestation to the contrary, the defense is attempting to avoid compliance with the courts mandate," the motion states.

Asked to comment on the motion, Baez said that he disagreed with the assertion that he had not complied with the court, but said this wasn't the first time he and the Ashton have disagreed.

"I told him if he had any questions, he could call me," Baez said. "He chose to file a motion."

Meanwhile, Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, issued a statement Thursday in answer to rumors that the couple were experiencing marital problems.

"Without detracting from the case involving their daughter please be advised that they are not having any type of marital issues," the couple said through their attorney. ORLANDO, Fla. -- Monday's status hearing in the Casey Anthony murder case has sparked an email spat between Anthony's lead defense attorney, Jose Baez, and prosecutor Jeff Ashton.

At the hearing, Judge Belvin Perry ordered that defense attorneys not only list the names of their expert witnesses for prosecutors but also turn over notes, photos and video the experts have taken.

Perry also ordered Anthony's defense to give prosecutors information about what field each of the experts will be addressing. It's that subject that seems to be causing frustration on the part of the prosecution.

In a new motion, Ashton writes that he believes the defense is trying to avoid complying with the court's order.

Ashton includes an e-mail conversation between him and Baez.

"The goal here is to work together, right? Please check below and if you have any questions let me know," Baez said in his e-mail to Ashton.

The e-mail contains names and addresses of the experts, in addition to short descriptions of their fields, such as forensic pathology, anthropology or botany.

Baez also writes what the experts did. He writes one "performed the second autopsy on Caylee." Another "inspected the car and was at the evidence inspection."

Baez also adds notes in his e-mail such as, "you already know this," "please tell me you knew this" and "you know what he will testify to as you objected to it at the hearing."

"This is not what the judge ordered," Ashton writes in response to Baez's e-mail. "I want a written statement of the substance of their testimony."

"You know what all of the forensic issues are," Baez writes in his continuation of the e-mail conversation.

Ashton later tells Baez he reviewed the tape of Monday's hearing and quotes Perry. He said Baez' deadline to comply with the order is 4 p.m. on Friday.

I agree.   I wonder if His Honor could just rule on this one without a hearing?  After all, his instructions in court seemed clear to pretty much everyone but Mr. Baez et al.

Maybe Bozo and the Jar should spend a few days behind bars for not complying with the judges orders.

What I found interesting in the court pics was how tight the guard's grip was on Casey's upper arm when she approached Mason and again when she approached Baez. The pics suggested to me that the guard either anticipated Casey kind of leaning into/edging closer to them or Casey actually did to some degree.  The grip there looks a tad painful, fingers dug in and all.  That reminded me of the Bull Stopper posts about How Much Does Jose Baez Value a Smile. IMO, that article was spot on.  I believe Casey has been coached to show emotion because her natural emotional range is extremely limited.  That's why her courtroom behavior is all over the place in terms of inappropriate.  IMO, the girl is barely keeping it together (feigning unnatural emotion and interest) while she's in court.  The grooming, lip pursing, biting, clothes picking, hand rubbing, etc. are self-comforting gestures (IMO) to counter the stress of trying to remember and act somewhat emotional.  Acting is tiring and even more so when you're playing to a judge, the press, and potential jurors. Clearly, Casey is uncomfortable.
Does anyone else besides me find it extremely inappropriate that Jose Baez chose to have his employee sworn in as a new attorney at the close of this hearing?  A hearing in which his client is accused of killing her toddler daughter is not the place to celebrate anything.  I have to disagree with Dr. Lillian Glass' assessment that Casey was genuinely happy for the new lawyer and she cared for someone outside herself.  Nothing in Casey Anthony's well-documented history via text/social networking pages/e-mails supports a capability to genuinely care for anyone outside herself.  IMO, it's wishful thinking on Dr. Glass' part.  Rather, Casey Anthony has clearly demonstrated a propensity for feigning interest and concern for others, in order to further her own interests.  I seriously doubt that she's suddenly developed emotions like compassion, empathy, selflessness, genuine concern for others, encouragement, etc.  JMOO

We have learned Mr. Baez fears revealing what his experts will testify about.  Mr. Baez may not be sure how he will utilize his experts even though the trial is less than six months away.

We have learned Mr. Baez holds an unprofessional personal grudge against Mr. Ashton, much like the one he harbors against Kathi Belich.

We have learned this case has affected Mr. Baez emotionally.  He is no longer able to carry out his duties in a professional manner.  He is no longer able to follow the guidelines of common courtesy.  Mr. Baez has lost control of his emotions and is spewing them forth in written form within the documentation of the case.

Oh how I have missed being here. Right before the October hearing, my dog lost the use of his back legs due to 2 herniated disks and the care he has required takes up an immense amount of time. On the up side.....he's improving and I have high hopes that he will be able to walk again. That's my Christmas wish anyway.

So many great comments here regarding Casey's behavior in court.....to me, it's all about Casey, always has been, always will be. She has to draw attention to herself even if it's just by picking at herself. "Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee..." comes to mind every time I watch her. All the coaching in the world will not change her.

Baez is a player....he plays with peoples lives (literally) in his feeble attempt to make a name for himself. They will all be losers when this is finally over.

Who cares about Cindy and George's marital relationship?  I can't believe that they had to issue a statement.  First of all, if G and C are not having issues, it must be the first time in their marriage. I read a comment somewhere last week about Casey no longer having her "horse" teeth.  Did anyone notice this?  She may have had to have them filed down after she chipped one while falling in the elevator.  However....since this work would be paid for by the taxpayers.....and she only chipped one tooth....why would they even out her teeth?  She doesn't have to look good for anyone....ever. I too missed my first hearing last week....thank goodness for the videos.  I was actually going to go the the October hearing and then my dog.....  Maybe I'll be able to go to some of the trial.  I live close enough that I just have to go....also to see all the "Casey" sights and of course Caylee's spot on Suburban. According to JBP's signed order today, he grants items 5 and 6, and additionally states that Defense shall provide Subject matter as to what the experts will testify to and and Areas of Expertise .

My take on this is that Subject matter does not merely mean Botany, for example, but what part of the case they will testify to. Such as vegetation at the crime scene, how long it's been there, growing through the bones, etc. So the subject matter would be at the very least, vegetation found at the crime scene.

LOL ...   But-who really cares?  And why would an attorney waste his time talking about such a personal matter anyway ???????

Hee hee hee ... or even now.  Yeah, they've been pretty much kept out of the limelight until this ... It was November 2009 when the defense released interviews with two ex-wives and the son of Roy Kronk - the meter reader who found Caylee's remains.

According to the defense, the interviews alleged a history "abusing, restraining and holding women against their will" and "possible inappropriate behavior with young girls."

In national TV interviews, the defense has said Kronk should have been looked at by the sheriff's office as a possible suspect in Caylee's murder.

A defense motion sought to introduce the interviews as evidence in the coming first-degree murder trial.

But the defense hadn't requested a hearing for the judge to determine of jurors should see the interviews.  In court Wednesday, the defense said it planned to withdraw the motion and refile it at a later date.  But the judge said the deadline to hammer out the issue is fast approaching. 

If the defense withdrew the motion the judge said he might refuse to hear it in the future. 

A court filing signed by the judge said the the defense planned to make a decision on what to do Friday.

At last check, nothing on the matter had been added to the court file.

Long story short, there was much ado being made in the press and on blogs  about the way Casey was acting towards her attorneys (specifically, her 100-watt smile). Linda Kinney-Biden (sp?) begins to elaborate on Casey's smiley behavior.  The jest of the analysis is that Baez takes issue that Casey smiled at Linda first.  In reading the interview, IMHO, Linda is running interference in addressing the issue (Casey's brilliant smiles). IMO, she's clearly attempting to deflect suspicion away from Jose Baez.  Linda asserts that, as Casey's newest attorney at the time, she is the cause of Casey's excited, happy smiles.  She plays the sympathy factor of how anyone would be happy to see anpother human being, much less their attorney, after being locked away for 23 hours a day alone.  Linda continues to strongly protest that Casey was smiling at her. Me thinks the lady doth protest too much.  LKB, in essence, makes a mountain out a of a molehill by her protestations.  Why?  By so stridently denying, she actually confirms what we all suspected...Casey is excited to see Baez the man, not Baez the attorney.  Just my opinion.  See her recent court pics when she sees Baez and you'll see that 100-watt smile in full effect.

As for the A's, ITA with you all.  If the A's feel the need to publicly deny something, it tends to be true.  Since they haven't exactly been holding press conferences, attending Missing Person fundraisers, handing out Caylee Bears at hospitals, or showing up on GMA/TODAY/Larry King Live lately, why the need for a press release from their attorneys?  What are they afraid we're going to find out?  IMO, they can't afford to divorce now anyway.  Wouldn't they lose their spousal protection in court and possibly be forced to testify against each other?  I wonder just how far each would really go for the other, when push comes to shove...because push is coming to shove in this case.  After Casey is dealt with and the dust settles, Cindy and George are next in line.  JMO  I think that's why they've been keeping their head down, laying low, tail tucked, and quiet (a relative term for the A's).  We're not seeing Cindy swaggering as she makes the round of morning shows.  Nor are we seeing George reading excerpts from his life, looking all victimized by the big, bad public.  It's been quite awhile since they decked themselves out in full Caylee regalia, clutching Caylee purse and pictures in public.  We have to understand, you know, it's a little awkward to wear/carry pictures of the murder victim and claiming you don't believe she's dead.  It didn't take them long to throw Caylee away again, did it?  Let's see, by my count, that makes the third time.

• Casey's a Mother of the Year.  She'd never hurt Caylee.  In spite of the pile of forensic evidence linking Casey to Caylee's murder, they chose to sit behind Casey in court to show their support.
• Cindy orchestrating and MC-ing Caylee's Memorial, right down to the Do Not Admit list- only to claim later she doesn't "believe" Caylee's dead.
• Cindy wearing Caylee's picture on clothing, purses, and jewelry, while George pointedly carried Caylee's picture to hearings.  Seeing that the defense lacked any strategy or proof to exonerate Casey, they quickly ditched the Caylee pics to mount Cindy's preposterous "I Don't Believe Caylee Is Dead" campaign.  George just fell in step behind her.

It just begs asking, "Is Casey really worth it, George?".[/list]

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Prosecutors have added the name of Zenaida Gonzalez to their witness list for the murder trial against Casey Anthony.

Gonzelez, who was suing Anthony for ruining her good name, appeared in the names added to the prosecution's witness list for the trial. Prosecutors said they will use Gonzalez to argue that Anthony knowingly let her fall under suspicion because she knew that the baby sitter of the same name, who she blamed for kidnapping her daughter Caylee, doesn't exist.
Also on the list is Ricardo Morales, Anthony's former boyfriend who photographed Caylee with her mother in a shirt that was later found in tatters at the Suburban Drive crime scene, and corrections officer Sylvia Hernandez who admittedly allowed Anthony to correspond with a jailhouse pen pal against policy, prosecutors said.

The defense team, meanwhile, was scheduled to turn over to the court a list of new witnesses who they claimed could support their contention that someone other than Anthony had put her daughter's remains in the woods

ISpy you are spot on IMO.  I think Casey is having a very difficult time keeping her emotions in check.  I have noticed at times she is very stoic, she develops this blank stare and appears to be deep in thought, perhaps she is reliving what she did to Caylee and wonders whether or not she can possibly get off.  There are brief moments she appears outraged that she is even sitting there in the courtroom and worries deep down about just how "caught" she is.  Her smiles and giggles are just a temporary reprieve depending on the moment.  She is so self absorbed.

Actually, what I can never get past is the sad fact it appears that nobody ever took Casey to an orthodontist, as her overbite is uncomfortably horrendous.  And if she did have orthodontal care, it was clearly insufficient.  That overbite takes center stage.

That is a good question - no one else has been able to leash them in that is for sure and they have had their fair share of attorneys.  I agree with you....they will split the sheets when this trial ends.

In spite of all the Caylee 'props' they chose to display, and all of the many 'girations' performed for the camera, they cannot erase the main fact that none of Caylee's next of kin-[ all adults who lived with her ]-bothered to report her missing until 31 days had expired.   While dialing "911" has a sense of urgency attached to it-that sense of urgency should have been present at the time the car was claimed at the tow yard impound, as it was obvious that something was clearly wrong.  In my opinion, both facts are/were unnatural behavior to the max.

Ono~ you make such a good point, especially when the tow yard guy mentioned that he was familiar with the terrible smell..death. I also bet that kc many times screamed 'you'll never see her again" type of threats, no one ever thinks that means murder  BUT kc's temper tantrums were legendary so if georgie the cop could smell it, the tow guy and cindy....the fear should have been overwhelming.

Great post ISPY!  But for me they have thrown Caylee away a million times over.  Every time they open their mouths and spew their lies, is one more time.  They even threw her Casey's way for 2 years.....full well knowing what type of person she is. That family doesn't have a clue what love is....it's each person for himself and if they can use a family member to get what they want, it's done....within a blink of the eye.  JMO

My question is why do we care?  Was it ever about Caylee for them or always about Casey and them?

Considering that the entire family lied about and denied Casey's pregnancy (Caylee) from the beginning, even when it made them look like fools, answers your second question. From everything we have seen, it's always about them and never about Caylee. 

Cindy forced Casey to have Caylee, full well knowing what type  of person she is and knowing that Casey did not want Caylee.  Cindy should have taken the responsibility to make sure Caylee was safe.  I don't for a minute believe they thought Casey was working at all. But they did know that Casey was carting Caylee all over the place. Cindy should have found responsible day care for Caylee.....for many reasons, but mainly to keep Caylee safe.  MOO

So far, none of this has been about Caylee. I expect the trial will change that and it's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to it! I predict the trial will be almost as hard on Cindy as it is Casey. Neither are going to like having to face what happened to Caylee and Cindy's going to hate having to keep her mouth shut through it.

Cindy is front and center to the diversion away from Caylee. She's made it about Casey's innocence and her own lack of any guilt that contributed to Caylee's murder or Casey's lying self. Cindy's been a dominating and controlling force within that family and she's largely responsible for creating the monster and the mess that killed Caylee. JMO.

TRUE STORY.....

I was getting my make up done and the girl doing it found out I met Mr Cool on a chat room about missing children. I asked had she ever heard of Casey Anthony, she was playing with the makeup and looked straight up and said OMG YES!!! KC was best friends with this girl's cousin and the girl knew Casey and the Ants very well. She told me she had told the cousin to stop hanging around KC because this girl knew KC was bad news. The cousin finally stopped hanging around KC after she found out KC was doing coke while she was pregnant with Caylee. She said she knew that KC was partying and giving Caylee baby benadryl, leaving her in the trunk of the car, then progressed to adult strength and then started with the chloroform.   So, she also said they want the cousin to testify for the prosecution, but she doesn't think they will need her. She also told me George doesn't want anything to do with KC, but Cindy is calling the shots and making him give KC money and making him go to court, etc. I was just in shocked about all that.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's defense received more evidence from prosecutors in her murder case. Among the 119 pages of documents are Texas EquuSearch documents from volunteer Laura Buchanan.

Buchanan is under investigation by the Orange County Sheriff's Office for allegedly falsifying documents to help Casey. She claims she and others searched the woods, three months before Caylee's remains were found there, and found nothing.

Investigators say the area was under water at that time.

Also, the defense wants the state commission that monitors its spending to approve a higher rate for copies of deposition transcripts. Apparently it didn't lock in a deal with a court reporter service before hiring it and wants an extra $860.

Once again, Caylee slipped through the cracks.  This person knew Caylee was being drugged and being put in the trunk of the car.....and yet this went unreported.   ::MonkeyNoNo::  I just don't understand where people think this behavior is acceptable!!  What the heck is wrong with people???  grrrr

Okay enough O/T back to some questions about the Anthony's does anyone else have the same feeling as I that when the trial starts Cindy will be the only one on Casey's partition, George and Lee on Caylee's side?

You know I have to agree with you on this..It's the first thing that popped into my head that there wasn't anything in a positive light being there's no notes..cause as with everything, you put something down that's not favorable as you stated it will not look good for your case..Common Sense pure and simple

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The agency that oversees the public money being spent on Casey Anthony's defense wants her attorneys to prove that additional hours from a private investigator are necessary.

In a new court filing, the Justice Administrative Commission responds to defense attorney Jose Baez's claim that he's already exhausted the 360 hours for an in-state investigator that have been granted.

The JAC said Baez must prove more hours are needed and that Baez must keep the cost to $40 or less per hour, the state's established rate for investigators.

"JAC objects to any compensation rate in excess of established rates," the response said.

Many of the hours the defense claims to have used up have been spent in questioning dozens of people who claim to have searched Suburban Drive, the area where Caylee Anthony's remains were discovered in December 2008.
Defense attorney Cheney Mason told WESH 2 News earlier this month the defense has 15 to 20 people who say they searched in the exact area where the remains were discovered months before the find.

Their statements could blow apart the prosecution's claim that Anthony dumped the remains there.

Other volunteers with Texas EquuSearch have testified under oath that the area where the remains were found was under water for months.

One such volunteer, Joe Jordan, is scheduled to be deposed by the defense on Wednesday afternoon.

Jordan indicated there was nothing in the area where the remains were found, but later told detectives that was not his claim.

New paperwork filed in the case also sets guidelines for DNA testing on two pieces of evidence in the case.
In November, Judge Belvin Perry approved more than $2,000 for the defense to have a lab in Pennsylvania check for DNA on a bag and some shorts found with Caylee Anthony's remains.

Originally, the defense wanted to send the materials to a lab in Holland, but Orange County Chief Judge Belvin Perry denied that request.

In the new paperwork, Baez and prosecutor Jeff Ashton come to several agreements about the testing of the items. For example, if the items are lost in transit, state witnesses would still be able to testify about the items.

Casey Anthony's trial is scheduled to begin in May. A hearing in the case is scheduled for Dec. 20. WESH.com will stream the hearing live.

Of course not...........WHY would anyone expected to tell the truth or be responsbile in this defense team? So far I have seen nothing to idicate any of them have a clue about a murder defense.

I am still convinced they are scaming the state for money because they had ALL these almost 400 witnesses to depose and did what 10 of them before they started making the state pay?  I still want to know what happened to the over $350,000 they "spent" for the defense. It keeps coming up but there is NO accounting for it.  As a taxpayer in Florida I want the details and have written more than once to get it. This time I am writing the judge.  I am over this not holding ANYONE accountable for all that money. A good defense attorney could have had their work done with that amount of money and these fools are running some kind of scam on the state taxpayers in my opinion,

I have never believed they thought she was working either. I think they made that up "after the fact" to make her look responsible which they KNEW she had never been. In one of the depos George admitted her knew she was not working. 

I don't believe that Cindy made KC keep Caylee - I think KC kept Caylee because it was a way to maniupulate George & Cindy. I also never believed that Cindy did not know KC was pregnant until she was over 7 months. WHO paid the doctors and the delivery bills??  She knew it but they thought her family was too stupid to notice it.

NO ONE ever cared if little Caylee lived or died except for each of their own evil purposes. I have said from the beginning that KC had been using drugs for a LONG time evidenced from the lesions on her face and I believe they ALL knew it. I have also said from the beginning that the state had a LOT on her that has not been released and won't be until trial.  I believe there are a lot of people she has screwed over in the past who will be stepping up to tell about her real life from even before Caylee was born.

    It could be a major blow to the defense. As many already know, they have floated bogus attempt to deflect attention away from Casey, after bogus attempt.

    What I am hearing is that they may have gone TOO far in their attempt to blame another and it may end up exploding on them.

In an uncomfirmed report, it may be that someone on the defense team or within the family, perhaps private investigator, Dominic Casey, (or Lee Anthony?) under the direction of Jose Baez and/or Cindy Anthony, sought to plant DNA evidence from Jesse Grund, on to the body of Caylee Anthony, while her remains were yet to be found.

The report says that either Baez, or the family, sent the private investigator to to the place where Casey dumped Caylee in order to taint the body with some collected DNA evidence from Jesse Grund, former fiance of Casey Anthony.

OMG! I hope they all go down.

You betcha!  Also if it's true, I'm quite sure Baez had a hand in the idea. No ethical lawyer asks to go hunting for the victim, unescorted with the accused and charged client. Don't forget Dom C was "employed" by both the A's and Baez...don't think it was ever determined who owned his work product and all that.

Can ya just really imagine.. a *coff coff grandmother or grandfather being ghoulish enough to send anyone out there to the decaying body of the grandchild to plant evidence? Graphic but that's the harsh reality. I think also it plays into the incessent push by Baez to prove others were tramping around the area. He needs to be able to spread the idea that it could have been someone else near the body..just my opinion

IMO, the Anthony's had to let "someone" else find Caylee, so there would be no connection to Casey or the other maggot family members.

There's a video of Cindy and George with Michelle BarF, the week Dom Casey went digging.........after seeing Cindy in that video, my opinion, Dom found Caylee.
(I'm sure Cindy was medicated, but her behavior was in response from something much worse).......all just my opinion.

Now that we've seen all the quirks that cindy has, her obsessive need to be right and to never accept blame (for kc) then it's not a stretch at all. By that time she had been yelling and screaming on tv that her DOTY could not possibly have done this because she was also MOTY...no way is cindy anthony going to be proved wrong and no way is all her hard work of making Caylee her income going to go down the tubes because all evidence points to kc. She'll take care of this and Baez had equal incentive.  I hope it's true, I hope even a part of it's true. I hope Karma slaps them into oblivion.

Well I guess what I was thinking was, the video of silent cindy sure looks like she just found out where the body was...so I thought maybe the news had been told, DC starts looking and then finds OR cindy just finds out thru baez and she hasn't had time to make her customary bounce back ??

Something which has always bothered me was when KC went to Jesse's apartment and asked to take a shower. I have always wondered if she planned ahead enough to get something like his toothbrush or clothing to save for DNA to later use against him.  It was just so strange and even he recognized it as strange but still let her in his place and in his "closed bathroom" -  That has always scared me for him.

I think the Grunds have a very serious civil suit and my guess is they will do it.

It's quite possible, and that would make her even more diabolical than she already seems to be.

I believe Joe Jordan was deposed today and that may be what this is about. As everyone here knows he is my friend and I really like the man. I have not talked to him so this is NOT any inside information but it hit me as I was reading that blog since Laura B. tried to get him to lie and he taped her phone call - WHAT IF LE got him to enter into other phone calls with her and Bozo before they released any info about LB.

Lol last week I was feeling gutsy and fed up with baez clown so I decided to take action and write him. I of course didnt get a  response. I thought as I was writing  I am gonna need bail money!!

You didn't say one thing everyone hasn't said here and coming from another Hispanic person it "should" (and I say should because he is an idiot) hold more weight. Not surprisingly, that was absolutely my first thought, we agree.

Let me say that I do not believe whatsoever that Jesse Grund had any involvement in Caylee's death, nor do I think he would help Casey cover it up willingly.

That said, I do believe he has "understated" the amount of time he spent around or with her in the weeks preceeding her arrest July 16.  I can't say that I blamed him at the time, but I also know that is going to come out.

Blink~ if he was spending a little more time with her than was reported how did he think that her wanting to take a shower there was unusual?  Wonder if it was timing or after he knew what happened he put 2 and 2 together or if he felt he better say something to explain her being there? 

So do you think that Jesse had an idea that something happened to Caylee? Wonder if it was his idea or Casey's idea to hang around together. He probably was trying to get back with Casey, don't think at that point in time he was over her at all.

She was such a user, I bet you're right...she could probably smell it a million miles away that he had feelings still for her.  Chalk up yet another guy she was boinking right before she killed Caylee!

yes I agree, she watched enough tv to know that there needs to be some suspicion on somebody. I just think she was so carried away with her own desires at any given moment it wasn't thought out very well, all her life she could lie..then give some lame explanation and it was over, guess she thought this would work the same way.

Casey Anthony is expected to appear in an Orange County courtroom Friday as the judge in the case hears a motion filed last week.

The controversy comes after the court last week ordered Anthony's defense team to provide prosecutors with information about the subject matter of planned expert testimony. Since then, the disagreement arose about just how detailed that information needs to be.

The motion filed by the state contains an e-mail exchange between Anthony's lead attorney, Jose Baez, and Assistant State Attorney Jeffrey Ashton. It is that exchange that is the apparent source of the controversy.

The motion asks the court to "clarify its order," and compel the defense to provide additional information on witnesses.

"It is the State's position that, despite protestation to the contrary, the defense is attempting to avoid compliance with the court's mandate," the motion states.

The hearing is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday.  Casey Anthony is expected at the hearing, according to the courthouse.

I hope Judge Perry slams Bozo with an "idiot" stick at tomorrow's hearing, but I won't hold my breath. Bozo needs clarification of Judge Perry's orders about their expert witnesses........ughhhhh......maybe JP can color code them for the douche bag. I hope he gets disbarred. He is an embarrassment to the profession.

I think judge perry needs to be  tapped with a ruler or even one of cindys infamoushammers!! and mayber  just maybe he will have an awakening!!  than  he can take that dern gavel to his head. Hell jane velez uses her gavel more than this judge!!

I am begining to see judge perry and bozo and mason as three stooges!! they all need to take  one of cindys hammers and tap eachother on the head!!! because they all  are not doing right by caylee!!!
